010. A Storm on the Horizon

Welcome back to Spartan History Podcast, in this months episode we'll start a two part investigation into the Bronze age collapse of eastern Mediterranean civilisation. ​

So in this, the first part, the scene for collapse will be set. Focusing on the empires and city-states that were within the Mycenaean sphere of influence to understand the various factors at play during this period of turmoil. ​

The mysterious sea people are central to my narrative and as I work through the source material I'll pay particular attention to the goings on of popular histories scapegoats.

​I finish by leaving the final piece of the puzzle up in the air, the fate of the Mycenaean's. They will be the entirety of my focus for part 2.
