You’ve had quite the life haven’t you? Have you ever wondered how many people are living their lives based off of lies they’re believing about themselves? God invites us to sub ourselves out, pause, and review our days, as we look forward to a better tomorrow - with Him.
As we begin this journey of “FIVE” together, we can’t skip this crucial first step of being honest with ourselves and God! If there’s anything that could compromise your faith this year, let’s find it.
We can’t control what’s going on around us but God can restore what is happening inside of us. Let’s lean into wonder together.
“Let’s talk about ‘Home’. Do you feel tired, lost, anxious or empty? I want to tell you about Christmas. 2000 years ago, Jesus came to bring us home. In a world of disappointment, a world of decay, a world of brokenness: Jesus faced death to find you and me. And no matter what we’ve done or how far we’ve wandered… He came to bring us home.”
Is it the hap-hap-happiest season of all? What if you feel broken, lost, overwhelmed, anxious or discouraged? God sent us an answer to all this: good news that changed everything.
More information isn’t going to change anyone’s life, but what if we applied what we already have? Let’s take a look at what “living large” really takes here on earth.
“In the book of Timothy, Paul is writing to a church that has problems with arguing too much. Sound familiar? Let’s flip that and take a look at how we can be people other people actually want to be around.”
Do you find yourself exhausted, searching for a finish line? A finish line called “enough”, “content” or “rest”? God can pick you up and put you exactly where you long to be when you put your trust in Him.
We should always aim to be generous and effective. 1 Timothy 5 tells us how we can create an environment that invites God to get to work on us: to make us into the individuals, and the family He created us to be.
At Southside, we know that the ultimate church is filled with only two kinds of people: those who are all-in for Jesus and those who are all-out (because they haven’t met Him yet!) There is no one as miserable as a lukewarm Christian and we will do whatever necessary to never be a lukewarm church.

1 Timothy 3 says that if anyone wants to be a leader… “good”! Wanting to be a leader doesn’t mean that you need to be perfect: real leadership is saying ‘follow me as I follow Jesus’. It’s an invitation to everyone and it’s a really really good one.
Someone, somewhere is following your lead. If we are all leaders, what does God have to say about leadership? Let’s talk about what influence means when you bring it to the church.

“You can’t out-dark the Light of the World. Whatever dark spots are in your life, Jesus shatters them as the light”
The very act of praying makes this statement: I need you.
“It wasn’t safe, cool or easy. But Timothy looked at Paul and saw a man who was changing the world"
“God doesn’t care if you had a devastating comeback to that insult, if you look good in those jeans or if the people at the gym think you’re cool”
Why do we exist? To bring more help. More hope. More home.
Jesus said, “If? There are no ‘ifs’ among believers. Anything can happen.”
“You are brave to be here. It takes courage to hope.”
"Take those lessons from yesterday, engage in this moment and build a better tomorrow."
One of the most powerful steps is the one we take in faith to get back up.
“I know right now there are people thinking God couldn’t love me. God could only love a Sunday School version of me, without the mistakes I’ve made. But I’d like to respectfully tell you today: you couldn’t be more wrong.”
“Cultural, surface level, and ritualistic Christianity doesn’t change hearts. The miracle of the person of Jesus does. He changes everything.”
I really feel like God told me to tell you here today “it’s going to be okay.”
“As Jesus changes me, my words will match the changes that are happening on the inside.”
And I remember asking myself: “If we’re not here to help her, then what on earth are we here for?”
Whether you’re married or single, this promise is for you. God’s plan for your life and your relationship is a TODAY plan. It’s always an invitation. Put tomorrow behind you and make great decisions today, to build something beautiful for tomorrow.
