Episode description

Welcome artist, art therapist, play therapist, and former dancer, Jane Ferris Richardson to In-Focus Podcast Number 75. Jane studied painting in New York and in France, and with the Japanese painter Kaji Aso in Boston. Her early art experience was as a dancer. She is now an artist, art therapist, and play therapist. Her work with expressive “languages” for children with autism has led her to collaborate nationally and internationally, in Africa, Asia, and Europe. Most recently she taught art and play-based approaches to professionals and parents in India and Bangladesh. She is a core faculty member in art therapy at Lesley University. She has work in the university collection, and regularly curates work from students and visiting artists. Listen in on this conversation as The Artist Index’s host, Ron Fortier delves more into Jane’s life, work, and future ambitions.
