Welcome to Sounders FC Soccer Tonight, your Seattle Sounders FC face Saint Louis City SC. Tonight's match is brought to you by bud Light. Bud Light easy to Dream, easy to Enjoy. Sounders FC Soccer is brought to you by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. Now time for Sounders FC Sucker come to City Park in the heart of the Midwest on Decision Day as your third place Sounders take on Western Conference winners Saint Louis City SC.

Saint Louis have been a revelation in their inaugural season. They secured their playoff position and then the Western Conference title weeks ago. A blend of attacking flair and defensive stability has been a recipe for success. Led by the mercurial talents of MLS newcomers Jaucklaus and Edward Levin, Saint Louis are seeking to make history and win an MLS Cup in their first season for the Sounders. They enter

this weekend with all still to play for. Sounders could finish as high as second or as low as sixth, with the top four teams in each conference hosting two games in the best of three series in the first round of the MLS Playoffs. This matchup tonight has all the ingredients of a playoff game. It'll be a true test for the Sounders and if they are ready for a playoff run, we think they are. My name is Danny Jackson alongside former

Sounders winger Steve zach Quani for the call tonight. Before we get to Steve for his initial thoughts, let's give you the starting lineups for both teams the Delta. Starting eleven for your Sounders Stefan Fryan gol A back four of roaldn Yeamar Reagan and then Reed Baker. White in coming in on that left hand side where he's had so much success this season, comes in place of Newho,

who sits on the bench after international duty this week. Josh Atensio retains his position alongside Jao Paulo in the middle of the field, Christian rolled On on the right, Albert Rosnak in the ten and then Leo Chwo on the left hand side, and then Jordan Morris our number nine up front for Saint

Louis. We're looking at four four to two strongline up by Saint Louis going to this last game Burkie and goal about four of Novinsky, Parker, Nilsen and Markinich, Watts, Levin, Bloom and Jackson in the midfield and then Jiachini the ten goldman upfront alongside the other ten goldman, Jao Klaus. So for the Sounders, they have all to play for. We'll keep you updated as the game goes along. It certainly is one of those games where things

will change on the fly. For the Sounders. A win, we'll keep them in that possession of third at least depending on lafc's result up there in Vancouver. Saint Louis sold out sixteen games. This is the seventeenth home game of the regular seasons for Saint Louis and they're gonna go ahead and get kicked off As the ball rolls back all the way back to Roman Burkey, MVP candidate A Stephen Fry says, launches the ball forward to Jamar flick On,

brought down top of the box by Alex rolled On. First five minutes of the game are going to be vital for both teams just to get settled in. Sounders talked about it with Christian rolled On how important it was for the Sounders just get off to a good start as the Yemar steps in another interception, leading the league by fourteen coming into this game. Another solid season for Yemar alongside Jackson Reagan. Brian Schmetzron air production meeting today talked about how strong

Jackson Reagan's played. We've listened to podcasts and all the plaudits have been about Jackson Reagan's first real MLS season after getting some opportunity last year. Saint Louis free kick thirty yards thirty five yards from gold left of center, first opportunity for Saint Louis as they flick the ball in all go to the back post cleared by Jackson Reagan. It's gonna roll to the far corner flag and it's gonna roll over the end line for the first corner kick of the game for

Saint Louis. Sounders in their traditional green shirts, blue shorts, and green socks attacking the goal to our right, and then Saint Louis in their red shirts, red shorts and red socks. What han It's gonna be Levin strong season by Levin of course, all these players inaugural season for Saint Louis Western Conference winners. It's gonna be love in the twenty six year old floating in towards that front post, headed up and away by Jao Paolo. It's gonna

go over the end line for a second corner kick for Saint Louis. Fourteen assists on the year for Edward Levin as he steps back outswinging cornerkick for Saint Louis, this time drilled in top of the six, flicked on John sent Dead's around in his seventh Klaus over the top chance. It was spelled by Stephan Fry, flicked on of the front posts and then it was high and wide by Klaus on the rebound. It's gonna be a goalkick for Saint Louis.

There was a chance by Klaus. He was initially flicked on. Stephan Fry tried to bring it down and fumbled it from about eight yards. It was Klaus who had a chance to open up the scoring in just the first two minutes of the game and blaze it over the top. It's gonna be goalkick for the Saunders. Stephan Fry talks about his fellow patriot Burkie and the goal watched Bunes League for so many years. Growing up, and of course

Burkeye comes in from Europe. Has had a stellar year this year All Star Goalkeeper of the Year nominee alongside Stephen Fry As Bloom lurels it back to that man, Burkeye. He's gonna launch it long, put off the chest by Red Baker White and gets the nod tonight on that left hand side. After playing so well in previous weeks, Ryan Schmitzer talks about reading glowing terms.

Certainly has earned that opportunity on the left hand side. Provides the Sounders that opportunity to get up and down that left hand side as a counterbalance to Alex rolled On. As we see this free kick, Jobe Palall just a little tugging Jackson in the middle of the park. It's gonna be a free kick for Saint Louis does to get it back underway right hand side. Nevinski, former Vancouver white Caps man, All goes down the line, so Jiacchini Tritrigo

free. He does, challenged by JP Physical in these first few minutes for the Sounders. Here in the fourth minute at City Place, Saint Louis nil, Sounders nil. No surprise at all to see Joe Apolo getting stuck in there early on here. I think for the Sounders, of course, this is going to be one of the biggest tests they're going to face this season.

Then one of the challenge for branch Mess is going into this game with some of the veteran guys and do you rest them on your already in the playoffs and managemnutes, or do you treat this as your round one as this get that intensity, Let's push as hard as you can so we'll see how he plays this one out tonight. Branch Mess, a guy like Joe Polo who coming off a big injury, had a very good season, but you

need to keep him fit these next few weeks. Love him with a free kate right hand side, whips it in towards that front post flake by Jackson on that front corner of the six yard box, this time collected cleanly by Stephan and fry an opportunity for Saint Louis again from those set pieces. See they're dangers so far on those set pieces, corner kicks and free kicks they

are, and in the end that one is directly at Stephan Fryer. But the delivery has been good so far, and the Sounders have to watch out for that because sometimes in these kinds of games where the emotions are high and clearly it's a very motivated home team here, home crowd, very motivated, it can be things like set pieces that do make the difference. And if you're the Sounders when you're thinking about the playoffs, and a lot of these games will be one nail, two nail, and you can come down to

just a set piece. Jordan Morris gets him behind, good change by Nielsen with a chance by the Sounders. As that man Jordan Morris gets through, Nielsen comes back, makes the tackle, corner caick for the Sounder. Steve's that corny, oh and it was such a grillption here for the Sounders as it drops a Christian roll down. Jordan Morris takes off and I want to see a big push. If that first touch was really out of his feet, you're not catching Jordan Morris. But it was under his body a little

bit. They just gave Nilson a chance to recover and also not on his strongest left side, and Indiana's a wasted opportunity. But the Sounders do get a corner kick out of it. Corner kick with Rosnick arm up into the air. It's gonna be an d swinger as she's driven to the far side to Joao Power volleys it in deflection. See if there's gonna be a corner kick, it is gonna be a second corner kick in a row for the Sounders same side. Good opportunity by Jao Power, good strike on the volleys,

difficult technique. It's gonna have deflected over the end line for a second corner kick right off the training ground there Russ knag pinging that one all the way out about thirty yards for Joe Poli, who got great contact, not the best angle deflection helped him out. Rosnick comes in top the six funched away by Berkie, not particularly convincingly, finds herself to the feet of Christian Roald on this near side the right whipster ain't good ball flicked away by Tim

Parker top of the box. Rosneck deflex off Klouse up into the air and she cleared by Giacchini. Sound has retained possession on the far side the left with Leo Chu. Revelation this year has been Leo Chu really breakout year for the young man. Giacchini argues for the free kick that she's a throwing on the fast side for the Sounders, read Baker. Whiting just trots up. Sounders is going to manage this game, Steve, with all that's going on.

Brans Schmetzter talked about listening to certain things going on around, but it's about taking care of business tonight. Yeah, it is. And for the Sounders, I think your approach has to be if you're a player there on the pitch, or job Parlo of Russnack, one of these more veteran players, the approach has to be treat this as the round one of the playoffs, because this is the sort of intensity. Or goes to the end line deflex again off it was a trailing Nielsen comes off, the Saint Louis man

goes over the end line for another corner kick for the Sounders. Three corner kicks in the space of two minutes. Yeah, and for the Sounders, these are the kind of games you're gonna see. There'll be no more easy games at this point. It's still going to be super intense. This already

feels like a playoff atmosphere sort of game here. The Sounders responding well here after Saint Louis making a better start now the third set piece, as you mentioned there in the last ninety seconds or so, can they make this one count rosack again? I'm up in the air far side the Sounders left entering. It goes low, cleared by Jackson, up into the air, finds itself to the feet of Roddn who rolls it inside to Leo Cho top left corner of the box, flicks it in up in the air by Jiacchini,

challenged by Yemar and Levin. That finds the feet of Christian Rolldan whips it into the far post. Good header just over the top opportunity by Jordan Morris. We've seen him score goals this year on its head. This time is a great delivery by Christian. Roldan finds the head of the Sounders number thirteen, but it goes over the top for a goalkick. Saint Louis remains Neil, Neil. I mean, you won't see a better crossing that all night.

We normally talk about Alex Rodin's crossing there, and this is a case occasion. It is the older brother Christian. Fantastic delivery and Jordan is not happy with himself because we saw him start the year off scoring so many headers he really works on in the off season, and for the quality he now has in the air, that's a big opportunity there from Jordan Morris. Two

big chances already hit tonight from Jordan Morris. But it's got to be said, that was a fantastic set piece by Christian Road, so fantastic cross by Christian Rodan, and Jordan Morris just couldn't get over it, got under it a little too much and in the end he ends up heading over the crossbar well a goal already in the Western Conference games, We're going to keep you updated in all the games Sale Galaxy against Dallas. Dallas go up one goal

to nil. That pushes them up to seventh position, drops Portland to eighth, San Jose ninth, and of course Kansas City and Minnesota sitting in tenth and eleventh play against each other tonight, so one of those teams has got a chance to push themselves into that eighth or ninth spot. This ball goes along by Burkie good pace to this game so far, real Christmas to the

play chances on both ends so far. Ball given away by Alex Roldan and his Klaus ten Goldman left hand side, comes to leve on top of the box, tries to find it in behind. Double interception by Yamar, you mentioned done so well this year alongside Jackson Reagan rash challenged by Atensio, goes to the deck, catches the ankles of the Saint Louis midfielder Markinich, and it's gonna be a Saint Louis free kick here in the tenth minute, remains

nil nil. Sounders currently sitting in third position. LAFC playing up at Vancouver sitting above them by just one point. Sounders win will guarantee them home field advantage, keeps them in third spot, and depending how that result goes up in Vancouver, could potentially push them to second. Sounders holding top of the box. Levan's gonna whip it in towards the far posts, easy for step and Friday reads once over the endline goalkick Sounders remains no no, and the

game's now beginning to settle into a rhythm. It's been a very very fast start here. Send Lewis first five minutes with a better team, last five the Sounders, and we're hopefully not going to see It's sort of a pattern of what this game can end up being. But in terms of atmosphere and crowd, I mean we can hear it here. It's a fantastic atmosphere. It feels like a playoff game, and the tempo of the game. It's a very very fast game right now, and it really does feel like a

round one. The first round of the playoffs starts today because both they teams will be in it, so that pressures off. You know you're in it. It's all about seeding now and all you can do for the sound is nothing to lose. You gotta go for it. Balling behind Perkey reads it well, comes outside his box, clears it with his left foot high and long off the chest of read Baker. Whiting, as Steve mentioned, will

pace to. This game so far certainly feels like a playoff. Seventeenth game in a row is a sellout over twenty two thousand fans here in Saint Louis. It's been the venue for both US men's national team games and women's national team games this year. As the Sounder chain a little bit of possession, trying to keep it a little tempo now, it's been a high flying start so far by both teams, just high press all over the field. But tonight's match is brought to you by bud Light. Bud Light was brewed to

be a delicious and easy to drink beer. Bud Light easy to drink, easy to enjoy. Pick up bud Light at your local retailer today. Please enjoy responsibly. Steve, we talked a lot in the last few weeks and Brian Schmetz has been asked a question about lineups, about playing his strongest lineup. It feels like this is the lineup other than Raoul potentially coming back into the lineup where Brian Schmetz feels comfortable going into the first round of the playoffs.

Yeah, it is, and you look at the line up soon as I saw the line up today announced. I mean, this is a very very strong line up and it's a sort of line up that you feel can this land up beat any team in the league. Yes, left hand side comes to attention inside the box, of course, he scored against Saint Louis last time. Looked for a bundle over nothing given. It's gonna be a freaky actually on the big central midfielder for the Sounders inside the box. But

Steve, that's what attention gives you box the box running. Of course, he's scored a wonderful goal against Saint Louis when we beat them three nil at home beginning of the season. Yeah, and he's just getting into the box. It's a late run there from Attendey soor he doesn't get forward too much on that occasion, trying to get on the end of a Leo two pass

ends up committing the infraction and he's called for it. But one of the ways to judge lineup is by the players who are not there the depth, and you're talking about guys like Nikoladero or Rawu diational two absolute club legends who now this question marks whether they've belong in the strongest eleven on their day. And so for branch met So it's been such a season where we've not been able to calt up on the best eleven week after week and to get that

just in time for the playoffs. The timing may just work out well and very few teams want to face this eleven Levinski right hand side. Look click to the top of the box by Jiakini, well read by the Sounders and Christian rolled on. Here come the Sounders again, balling behind It's certainly been a ball that the Sounders have found a couple of times so far. Potential an area of weakness for Saint Louis the strength of course for the Sounders with

the speed and power of Jordan Morris. Another result to bring you Houston leading at Portland. That does make some changes, that pushes Houston to third position, drops the Sounders to fourth if all results hold, and that pushes Portland down to ninth. We haven't seen any results come in from Kansas City Minnesota yet. No goal's there still nil nil, but a win by Kansas City or Minnesota as results stand, could knock Portland out of the playoffs as they

currently sit in ninth position. As Jao Paolo just puts his foot on the ball again. Listening to MLS podcast during the week, Steve Joo, Paolo, it's been getting the plaud it's for just getting himself right back into it after having that ACL back at CCL final last year. It feels, like you've mentioned a number of times, feels like a brand new signing. It does, and a very high level signing. That and the credit to Joe

Parlo is that he does not look like he missed the beat. You know, sometimes a player comes off a long injury, and we've all been there, it takes you a while to find your rhythm and to really find your place again to where you were. For Joe Parler, from day one, since coming back, he just fit right back in. He's become a leaders of vocal leaders, an emotional leader for the team, and he's performances have been very well, and I think the team's done a good job managing him,

managing his minutes, knowing when to kind of pull him out. He's been subbed, maybe more than he would usually, but all of that was in mind to get him to this point of the season to where if you need him to go ninety minutes three times in ten days, he can do it. And I think Joe Parlo's managed that so well this season, and he seems to be arriving there at the right moment. There's that man switcher

play to Leo Chwo overlapping run by Rebaker Whiting inside the boxes. Leo Chwo brings it to his right fo We're seeing that before deflex off the Saint Louis defenders who threw themselves at the ball. It was a combination of marking itch and Nielsen goes over the top for a Sounders corner kick on the Sounder's left hand side. Remains Saint Louis nil Sound nil here in the fifteenth minute. As you mentioned, there's going to be changes all throughout the night. Portland

playing at home need a result of some sort. If they don't get the result, they're got to hope for others to not win. And that's going to be Kansas City or Minnesota playing against each other in a local rivalry. As it's gonna be. Jao Paolo plays it short to Alex Roldan's going to clip it towards the far post, headed clear by Love. On top of the box is Christian Roll. Dan strikes a good strike, good block finds itself all the way to the halfway line. Would read Baker, Whiting,

Bradley Carnell, why jacket just screaming instructions. Great first year at Saint Louis for the head coach, galvanized this city. This city is a soccer city through and through. I think at the beginning of the year they were saying that they've had after six decades worth of US men's national team players come through

going all the way back to the fifties. The Tantio tries to win the ball off Leuvin, who can play both sides good going forward of course fourteen assists and six goals on the year, but doesn't mind getting back doing his defensive duties as the Sounders trying the far side the left really bigger Whiting and Chew just closing down comes off the young left back's ankles goes over the far side for a Saint Louis throne. But join us for Sounders Day at the

Burke Museum. Get free entry on Sunday, November nineteenth by wearing your Sounders FC gear. Fans in attendance will be entered to win an autograph jersey. To learn more, visit Burke Museum dot org. The Sounders win it. Middle of the field comes across this near side to Alex Roldan playing high and on this right hand side. Is he's done all year? The outlet for the Sounders, Steve, you mentioned JP, It's been more more about the

person playing alongside JP's been the question. We've seen over bit of Vargas, of course play alongside him. We've seen Josh a Tensio, We've seen Russneck. We've seen even Ladero dropping at times to see a quick early yellow card. In Yama, it's been aggressive in the first eighteen minutes, not something the center back wants to get as he plays against both the combination of Klaus and Giacchini. Yellow card for Yema. But it's about who plays alongside JP.

Yeah, and I think it goes game by game branch. So when he wants a bit more still, you know, a bit more physical presence in there, obviously like Tensio, when the sound is really want to over emphasize keeping the board and sort of breaking the lines, then that lends itself a bit more to the skill set of allbed Vargas. But those two youngsters

have both been very good next to job. Party is one of those players where it's almost whoever's alongside him is going to raise their game just by being alongside him, because he makes it that easy to play next to him. But in some moments, I can still see moments where it might call for Russnak to be back there and in a pinch, a Christian role done where

you just get your very best players underpitch experience, spanning the team. That sort of thing but I think both the two youngsters, Vargas and a ten you've done a fantastic job this season. Ball down the left hand Cyebeer markini Ish played by Jackson Reagan reads the game well, covers his fellow center back Yemo It step forward, takes no chances, launched the ball out of bounds. It's going to be a Saint Louis throwing on this near side the left

with Markinich on. The ball in his hands goes short, so Jiachini comes back to bloom. South African player played the Kinds of Chiefs Storied Club in South Africa WNMLS in twenty twenty three. As the ball goes in short to Jiki is able to turn challenge well by Jackson Reagan, who steps in shuffles

away from pressure does JP plays down the right hand side. Here the Sounders in transition right hand side go square top of the box, step over to Leo Cho try to find it to Jordan Morris had already spun out create the space for Leo Chu had a chance from twenty yards played the pass. Maybe should have taken the shot seeds like one, and I think that's what Jordan

was expecting. I think once he got to there wasn't enough pace on the ball to really keep the attacking momentum going for an extra pass, you probably really have to take a touch out of his feet, which he did, and it was lined up there on his left foot to really have a crap from twenty twenty five yards optics traffand Jordan Morris. The two attackers were not on the same page as they so often have been this season. Unfortunate that

moment they weren't. And I think Jackson Reagan just taking a knock in and as he goes down to the ground, Yeah, a few boots from the crowd. Monocuous flailing elbow by Jiachini. Just clush your big bodies. As he mentioned, Leo Chwo five goals, eight assists on the year. We've seen him strike the ball with both right foot and left foot from outside the box. Of course, let's not forget that dynamic pairing of Chew and Jordan

Morris, certainly in the early parts of the season. Let's not forget Sporting k c LA Galaxy. There's a Leo Chu Jordan Morris combination that got the Sounds off to a great start this year. Let's start was really was only surpassed by Saint Louis five wins out of five and then they came into Lumenfield

and got crushed three nil. Yeah that's not of course, Sometimes I think I like that game was a game where almost everything went right for the Sounders and a sort of as a mark of look, you've been a good expansion team, but welcome to MLS and credit to Saint Louis. They've responded really

well. It's not been a fluke season, putting together an absolutely unbelievable season, and of course they're more vision today is to end it on a high, give these fans after the chair about and then really go into the playoffs with momentum. And that's important for both teams. So you want to go into the playoffs in the best form, and the way you do that is by playing well, winning, imposing your style and playing against a very good

opponent, which each team has. Tonight, another corner kick for Saint Louis. It was Novinski went to the deck. He's all his experience against young reed Baker. Whiting knocked the ball off the shins of the Sounders left back, goes over the far end line for another corner kick for Saint Louis to continue to look at results all around the league. No change so far. Portland silk sitting in that ninth spot. Sounder is just above that home field

advantage dotted line sitting in fourth. As Houston lead one goal to nil, the Providence Park goes up. Levin drives it into the near corner of the six yard box, cleared well by JP. Hits it high and long to Novinsky. He's gonna clip it to the far post. Challenge by Giacchini wins. The ball gets in between rolled On and Yema. The sandwiching of players makes the head of difficult, goes wide of Stefan Fry's goal. Goal kick remains Saint Louis nil, Sounders nil. See Zacquani and the game now has

settled. I think at first ten minutes was almost an unrealistic pace. It was so ferocious well seems really coming out from the best, and I was going into a bit of a pattern here. I think the sound is seeing what Stain Lewis have. It's a very high pressing team and the Sounders taking the chances, trying to build out of the back. Job Parlo always an option for so many years of so vas Lonzo in that role where it didn't matter what kind of pressure was thrown at us, we could always get out.

And Joe Pollo does that so well, spreads the game really well as it not's another sixty yard past Alex rod done here. I think the Sounders will try to dominate possession where you do have to watch out for this team in transition because it can be electric once they do win the board. Sounders in possession just this near side, the right in front of the Saint Louis

bench goes into Jordan Morrice. Christian roaldon right corner of the box, drives into the box, got time and space, comes it back to Rossnick and it's a goal for the Sounders. And it's Albert Rossnick again back into that number ten position for the Sounders and a goal by there Maestro in the midfield takes his time. Good break by the Sounders on the right hand side finds Rosnack who slides it into the bottom corner of the goal to put the Sounders

up one goal to nil. But this is outstanding by Christian Rodin has to be said. Look, Rossnack will get the prodience he scored the goal. But it's the patience of Christian Rodan, because once you get the ball here and you go into the box, it'll be so easy to get excited. It's so easy to take the first option, the second option. He doesn't. He waits for the third option and the cart back to Albert Russknick. It's really really good play. And listen, that is not an easy finish

week afore left foot keep the ball on the ground. So many times you see players slash at that the ball flies over the crossbar. But that's the quality that a player like Albert Russnik possesses. But the assist from Christian rod Done. It was the patience. He saw his brother making the first run, he saw Leo true second run, he denied them. Finds russ snack when no one expected it. Simple finish. Sound is up one nil. Well, Rossnick gets his fifth goal on the year, so married up with

four assists, a couple of boots in the crown. We's going to check and see if Vaar is going to have a tic take a look at look at this. A couple of conversations being had. But for Rosnick, he's scored winners against Austin and Colorado already this year, It's been some conversation post that Brian Schmitz about Ladero Rossnik which one would play in that number ten gold

stands Sounders lead, the Sounder score a goal. FC Dallas scores another goal to put themselves too nil up against the LA Galaxy, and as points go, Sounders are going to jump up all the way up to second place above LAFC. Houston drop into fourth, all down the right hand side because you're all die Marketing. You're having a torry time right now against the experience.

Right back towards the end line clips off Marketing. She goes over the near touch line for a Sounders throwing sound is now about what about game management? If we get here in the twenty fifth minute, as they lead one goal to nil after really concise and measured finish by Albert Rozneck Seattle sitting in fifty three points is if all results stand one point above LAFC, You're currently a drawer tying up at Vancouver alex Ordan. Just from the ball on the near

corner flag goes out of bounds. It's going to be a Saint Louis thrown. But Steve perfect stuff for the Sounders. The pace of the game's been high the Sounders when they needed a bit of quality was Rosnak who delivered. He did, and it's a really good finish. And the more I saw the replays, I was really impressed by it because it makes it look really really easy there. But it's so easy to snatch at that go with the right foot, not let it go across your body and get horribly wrong.

But Albert Rusknik just took his time, let go across his body, got a good contact, kept it low and gave the go keep a no chance to put it really the only place you can put it right there in the corner. And again the assistant Christian Roll done. It may seem simple as well, but just to the ability to delay, get into the box, not rush, wait for the best option, the very best option, which he found. And Albert Rosnik rewarded these patients well. Sound As EVC Soker

is presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders. FC, as he mentioned, will continue to keep you updating all scores as they come in, and those as are coming in thick and fast Portland Nil Houston one Kansas

City and Minnesota still tying nil nil. One of those teams needs to win right now as things stand, Dallas getting a goal backer sorry Ellie Galaxy getting a goal back for FC Dallas. We see Saint Louis on the break, Gemar on a yellow card, cleaning his tackle, but there's Jackson for Saint Louis on it's near side, the left, but a pressure by Alex Rodan drops off ball in behind, so marketing she drives the ball in and again it's that man Yemar and his second touch clear. Is it high and long?

Nielsen all over? Jordan Morris? What much you can do about that? Yemar knocks it over the near end line for a thrown for Saint Louis. Let's finish off some of those scores. Colorado nil, Salt Lake nil, Vancouver nil, l EFC nil, and a big goal for San Jose against Austin leading one goal to nil. That's gonna shift San Jose up to

forty six points if Salt stand holds their position at eighth spot. Now Portland, who's sit at forty three and ninth and they're looking vulnerable if either Sporting Case or Minnesota can get a result, both teams came into today's game on forty one points. Saint Louis habit nar corner cut back by Levin to Markenich

and a new signing from Colorado in August. Baul goes back to him low one two by Klaus cuts it back top of the six yard box, right place, right time for JP. As he collects it, calmly plays it out to Read Baker, Whiting takes a touch towards his left foot, looks to play it short. He does low one two with Leo cho Good play by the two young left sided players for the Sounders. Given away by Read

Baker. Whiting needs to just to stay on his feet as Jau Klaus with all his skill and experience and clips it off the heels of Read Baker Whiting over the end line for another Saint Louis corner kick. But I think it's been good from the Sounders because I think once you score, sometimes on the home team lomb you can get a response the next five minutes. Always say the next five, next five is very important sound As I've managed the game

very well. You do know there will be moments at times in this game where you'll be under the cosh, under pressure, and Saint Louis, I've got quality. There's got a lot of goals this year. They will come forward. But the Sound is managing it pretty well so far. Saint Louis of another set piece here which had early on and got to the board first. It's four corners of piece now, so you've got manage these moments well. But through the run of play, the Sound is looking pretty comfortable.

Out swinging corner kicked by Leb and flicked on by Klaus comes to this near sight to Marketingah the left backs that Gore whip it into the near corner of the six. Good strike by Bloom, knocked up in the air by Stephan Fry saw it late. Eventually a really good saved by the Sounders goalkeeper who throws it out to Leo Chu knocks it down the line. So the board goes back to the back four of Saint Louis and we're just looking at the

results. We're thinking there's going to be a goal coming in for Kansas City against Minnesota, and we'll update you that as it's confirmed. As Levin has the ball in the middle of the field, and if that result is such, the goal is on the board that's going to put Portland into peril, and it is it's Kansas City take the lead over Minnesota. That pushes Kansas City to ninth, Portland down into tenth position. Wouldn't we love the games

to finish right now? Saint Louis have the ball pushes across the Levinski thirty yards from goal, plays it short to Jackson strike over the top goalkick, Sounders remains, Saint Louis nil, Sounders one, and Saint Louis now just beginning to show why they'd be so successful our scoring goals this year, the little intricate passing breaking the Sounders down a little bit. The final shot is lacking right now. The quality hasn't quite been there for Saint Louis, especially

that one going about twenty yards over the crossbar. But for the Sounders, you don't want to get into a situation where you have your lead now you just start defending and protecting it. You still want to get on the front foot, you know. With the pacer Jordan Morris and Leo cho it's really caused a ton of problems for the Saint Louis. I do think at Saint

Louis Edges forward. There's going to be more spacing behind. Yes, you want to build up, but there's going to be chances and times when you can go a bit more direct and have chances to get Jordan Morris and especially or into one on one situations in the final third, which is what you want. Well. In the Eastern Conference games earlier today, the excitement came

in the final time areas of the game. The final minutes. New York Red Bulls got off PK at the very end calmly slotted away to win one goal to nil that put them into their fourteenth straight MLS playoffs, knocked their fellow neighbors out New York City, who did get the win against Chicago, but it was too little, too late. New York City FC, too

many ties in the year, couldn't get enough wins. New York Red Bulls were able to leap frog the fellow City rivals, and it was Charlotte that also managed to squeak in got a one goal to nil win against Miami an early first half goal. They're able to retain that even with likes of Messy on the field at home in front of sixty five thousand people, at Bank of America Stadium. They managed to get their result puts them into their first

ever playoffs. We're getting a potential another goal, a very important goal for all Sounders and Cascadia fans. Sporting Casey looks like they scored their second goals. The Sounders have it in the right hand side, similar positions. A goal that first touch by Christian rolled On has to go down to the deck. The referee gives a yellow card to Christian rolled On. Don't look anything dirty, went down to the deck to try and make the tackle. It's

gonna be a yellow card for the Sounders number seven. Let's get you a confirmation with some of these goals. Dallas getting another goal against La Galaxy. We'll see if the La Galaxy have got any type of motivation to get back into the game. As we mentioned, Sporting KC looking to score their second goal and that will create a little bit more of a buffer against Minnesota.

To Minnesota, of course, without Adrian Heath, who got fired just a couple of weeks ago, are they going to have enough between them, the bit between their teeth to try and grind out a result. It is up in Kansas City home field advantage. You know how difficult it is to play at Sporting KC. And it is two goals in Ill for Kansas City that drops and keeps Portland down in tenth position, San Jose retaining their result. Right now, Naturally, as we look at that, Austin have scored an

equalizer San Jose one. Austin one have put San Jose to ninth position, keeps them above Portland with forty four points an LAFC. So they've got a goal. I'm gonna get a confirmations that all our up dates come up on the screen. Currently sound As sit in second spot with fifty three points, coming to today's game at fifty points leading one goalton Ill. Here at City Park for twenty twenty four season. JP sticks out his right leg. Levin goes over it. Free kick for Saint Louis thirty yards from sefron Fries

goal left of center. As we look at some of the results coming in, as we mentioned, Austin get the equalizing goal. Austin, of course are out of playoffs, so that's all about pride for Austin. As we work our way up, we'll get a confirmation of the LAFC goal against Vancouver. As stephron Fry just organizing his wall. It's Levin. We're twenty eight yards or so from the goal. He's got a good right foot, he

drills it in. It's eventually cleared and saved by Stephan Fry, who has a dipping low shot by Leven it's got to roll over the end line for a corner kick for Saint Louis. Sounds just hanging on right now. As we see a replay of it, it just dips right in front of stephanan Fry. It's able to clear. The ball goes towards the back post to Klouds who knocks it in, bounces right on top of the PK spot.

Cleared high and long by roaldn Markinich, heavy touch read Baker White and reads it well, cuts it back he's got some time and space, needs to lift his head, gets away with it, gets bundled to the ground. Rosneck was available in the middle of the park. A good play again by the young left back. Yeah, it's good in the end that he did

win the free kick there because had he lifted his head. As you mentioned, there was a run from not only russ Knit close by, but Leo tu Are taken off as did Jordan Morris, and they are acres and acres of spacing behind. He could have really found him and put Sen Louis under pressure. But if you don't pay that past, the only thing you mustn't do is lose the ball, which he didn't. He want a free kick and the Sounders get to retain possession. Sound as strong in Decision Day nine

wins, two losses and three ties. In the last game of the season for the Sounders, the ball goes into the box slash shot by Alex Roldan, find itself to the feet of Leo Chu left side of the box, flicks it in ten tries to back heel. What's the name of the goalkeeper for Columbia was a guita who did that save Steves ac Quani when Wembley, when it was against England years I watched that, yeah, with the ball flaked up and he did that. I think I still can't believe a goalkeeper

would have the confidence of that Wembley. I can't believe, unbelieving. I do remember that what a character he was a character. Saint Louis left hand side, Markinich knocks it down the line. Yemar again right place, right time, reads the game so well, has done a great job so far,

adding to those interceptions that he's leading MLS with. Coming to today's game with seventy two Giacchini ten Goldman plays about to Levin clipped to the far post, headed across the six yard box, bounces miscommunication by Stephan Fry eventually puts his thumb up, says Jackson Reagan, who let it go, no harm, no foul remains. Sounders one Saint Louis nil here at City Park, who mention she will keep you up to dated and all the results. ALAFC

did go ahead against Vancouver up in Vancouver. That jumps LAFC back up to second spot with fifty four points. Sounders retain their third position with fifty three points. Again, these are points totals based on Howard's stand Right now Sanders coming in to today his game with fifty points is read. Baker Whiting steps forward, well reads the game Leo two to his left. He gets it short left corner of the box, down towards the end line is read.

Baker Whiting drives it back of the nets for the Sounders, and it's read Baker White. Thing a deflection from the cross read Baker Whiting won't care. Brian Schmizer won't care. And the Sounders go up two goals to nil here at City Park, Saint Louis, And what a run by youngster. What a finish In the end it turns out to be Listen, he's gonna now say he was shooting the whole time. We'll wait to see a replay here, but it's a great link up on the left hand side. Leo true

and read Baker White, and it was. It was the dedication to the run, the determination, very aggressive, carrying the ball all the way into the final third. And I love this. He didn't pass and then stand and admire he's passed. He kept on running and he fires that across, which is what you should do. Hard and low anything can happen on this occasion, takes a massive deflection. Goalkeeper no chance find us when in the back of the net. He probably was looking for Jordan Rice at the back

post. That doesn't matter, and he's gonna do everything he can to claim this goal, and I hope they give it to him. Well, Tim Parker goes to the deck, It clips off the experienced central defenders, Shins goes past Burkey. If you see the celebration on the replay, the Sounders read Baker Whiting and certainly Leo True played that ball down the left hand side. Won't care. Sounders now jumping again into second spot. They're going to

retain in third spot. Fifty three points, LFC fifty four points, Sounders leading two goals to nil. What a way to silence the crowd here at City Park. Mentioned seventeen games straight in regular season sellouts. Here, there's been a revelation nine games they've scored three plus goals. And the stat that I've found today and I'm going to try and find it, the Saint Lous have only been trailing in any game this year here by one hundred minutes.

One hundred minutes they've trailed here at home four hundred and forty minutes. Coming into today's game, they've led. The Sounders have really taken a bit between their teeth, but giveaway cheaply by JP. Klaus top of the box, heeking into his right. It's Klaus on his own good challenge by Jackson Reagan.

Sounds need to clear their lines. Eventually by JP flicked up by Christian rolled on the tensire coming in heading The ball finds the feet of Rosnik, good little touch away from pressure from Albert Rosneck, goalscorer of that first goal. Now the sound is in transition left hand side, Leo Chou trying to find Jordan Morris's running behind. Wasn't able to find it, but the Sounders do retrieve the loose ball back to Leo too far side the Sounders left the

tense. He have got a bit of time and space, just going to knock it out of bounds. Go knock it for an injury the JP. If there's nothing too Serio, that's not what we want to see. Is he lies on the deck. I think he's holding his hip flexa potentially with JP was back in the box, managed to clear it. We'll take a look if I think too serious. But Steve, we're setting the stage now five minutes to go in this first half, branch s Mester couldn't ask.

I think you could not write a better script than this, you know, minus the potential JP INJ Bowl see weapons there. The sound is too no up playing well in a playoff atmosphere, showing what they can do, and then the performances. He's getting someone like gread Baker White and coming here and showing in the big game he can be a difference maker as well. Please branch Menster very well. But his next five minutes is a massive stretch for

the Sounders because St. Louis are going to push. They're going to try to get go before halftime so they can go in at half time with their tails up. But the sound is, if you can keep it at two nil, get into halftime, then you start thinking, Okay, can we take a JP out, can we get some guys rest who may need the

rest going into the playoffs? Sare but this will be a massive result for morale and the Sounders team sneakily in recent weeks hasn't really looked like it becaus not been much fireworks, but have been putting together a very very good form and just at the right time of the season. They're getting healthy, they're peaking, and this will be a massive statement win. YEP, three wins

and five draws in the last eight games for the Sounders. As Brian Schmizer mentioned, if you take away the taking off of the shirt by Leo Chu, that most likely be four wins and four ties. Leo Trig getting that red card in the fifty third minute his first yellow card was taken off his shirt. By scoring against Portland, the Sounders gave up two goals to tie it up. So here we are in the final five minutes, Sounders leading

two goals to nil. And this copyrighted audio cast of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer. Big results all across the Western Conference as we look at it,

things will inevitably change in the next forty five minutes. But as of right now, it's Portland who sit outside the playoffs in tenth position, losing currently one goal toil against Houston's. The ball goes down the line, Geekini in behind Yama try to stretch when the ball he missed it challenged by Jackson Reagan, who came across to cover his lines. Levin just wriggles free of Christian roaldan supplier of that goal to Albert Rosneck be a free kick for Saint

Louis. Let's get here in the forty third minute. Saint Louis Nil Sounders two listening to us on Sounders FC stream channel on iHeartRadio. Thanks for joining us. Certainly a big night for the Sounders, big night for MLS. As Levin has it left hand side free kick twenty five yards from the end line, It's gonna whip it in with his right foot. It's gonna go high and long and over the end line for a Sounders goalkick remains Saint Louis

Nil Sounders too, and Steve zac Quani. It is getting quiet in the stadium. It is really taking a life out of that, and I've always loved that as a visiting player. You go into like a ruckus crowd, a crowd is really up for it, and then you just score goals and it's just quiet. It's really really quiet. The sound has done a great job, and they've done that not just with the goals. Sounders have played very well. I think defended well, knowing that at times Saint Lewis has

the quality they will break you down, they will get chances. But the sounders of getting good performances all over the pitch. It's not three or four guys. It's all day eleven out there. Everyone's playing well. When Stephen Frisby needed he's been there. Yeah, Min Reagan. When they've had to win headers and make tackles, they've done so. In the midfield. It's job parting attention while winning that battle. So I think all over the pitch

they're winning jewels, winning battles and have scored the opportuney times. I mean, got the fantastic finish from russ Nick and then the four two is just one from Redbakawhiting. But you create your own luck, and when you dribble thirty yards, drive at the back line and make things happen, good things will happen. So Brian Schmatz really couldn't descript this any better. For decision, they to the best team in the West this season and the sound is

up to nil. It's looking good right now. Well, three nil winners back in the early part of the season it's so Saint Louis winning only two nil here at Saint Louis, and don't go away at halftime, don't leave us. Jackson felts chance frying. James Riley will be here to break it all down and suddenly lots to break down. As the ball goes into Jackson, cleared by Reed Baker Whiting and whether he gets that goal or not. For the second goal, we hope he does. That would be his first

goal in his sounder's career and his MLS career. Got his first assist. I think it was also for Rossnick against Dallas. It's been on the MLS bench for the match of the week. As the ball comes in, cleared by JP headed clear well, it's manage to get over that knock he got just a few minutes ago, a little bit of cold spray. There's the

tricks. The ball goes to Burkey left foot, just slices down the line, fliked on by Markinnich, comes up to Jackson middle of the field, ball bouncing around, found the feet of Klaus twenty five yards and goal strikes it just over the top. We've seen Klaus with his ten goals this year, has got a real venomous shot that samming goes over the top and the extra mile stopp Is time is going to be two minutes. So Steve Zach

QUARANTI two big minutes for the Sounds that you mentioned. Just button things up, get in a half time, let Brian Schmidz address this team. Yeah, and I think one of the things that will please Brian Schmitz on the entire coaching stuff really is after each goal is how the Sounders have managed the following five minutes. I mean St. Louis. If they're gonna take expected the shots from twenty five thirty yards, listen if Klaus Pustan in the top

corner, you lift up your hands say it's a great goal. It is what it is, but not really giving up quality chances. To Lewis say, the sound is defending really well, very compact, forcing them to go around, not through them, not really able to break lines. And so the response has been good. After you score, you can at times be at your most vulnerable. But the sound is really haven't allowed that they've scored their goals. They defensively compact. Yes, accepted some pressure, but nothing

that really has put Stephen Fry's goal under a bumpshell. And that may be what Pleasees Branch Methser the most because in the playoffs that's what matters. The games will be tight. It's very rare in the playoff game atmosphere to win three noil four. No, you can't expect that. You can't count on that. You have to be good defensively. And for all the ups and down this season, the one finis Sounders have been very good at is defensively.

With Stephan Fryer with I don't know the exact number of sho shoutouts, but I think he's even matched his career high thirteen clean sheets right now matches twenty seventeen. Totally. He gets it today. Yeah, he's fourteen. There you go. So defensively at least has been very good and that is what we say that defensively is how you win championships. And so this team is doing the right things on the right side of the pitch and now find

a way to score goals as well. Yep, get into the last thirty seconds of this first half, Sounders thirty two goals giving up on the season, second best in MLS. So after Nashville mentioned thirteen clean sheets so far for Steph and Fry. The ball gets launched long. Good decision by Red Baker Whiting certainly something he's put in his arsenal, making the right decisions at the right times. Jackson Reagan takes a touch calm composed by the Sounder center

back rolls it to Alex rol Darno to knock it down the line. Jordan Maurri's gonna be a time and say it's can even nudge off Nilson he does. It's been something the Sounds I've looked for. They've identified the lack of speed for both Nielson and Parker, and there's the referees. We're sort to bring this hrawling first half to a close. Goals by Russneck and a deflected cross by Reed Baker Whiting off the heels of Tim Parker took it past Burkey

to put the Sounders up two goals nil. But Steve, your final thoughts, that's fantastic from the Sounders. I think you know it's not been a vintage, no top class ten out of ten game by the Sounders, but they've done the right things well at the right moments, and you're thinking, you know, we've seen a glimpse of raw Rudias. This is without Rudias,

without Lader or so the eleven Bratschmans just put out there. They've really rewarded them very well and squad at the right moments, defended very well and well deserved leaders. At halftime, well we'll take a short break, Jackson felt, James Riley chance Fry will be back to break it all down. But at halftime here at City Park in Saint Louis, it's Saint Louis City, Nil Sounders too. When two forces for good come together, united by

Jackson Feltz chance for James Riley. Here for the halftime show. We'll get into the scoreboard around MLS and where Seattle sits in our second part of the halftime show. But let's just start with this game, guys, and let's

talk about the great first forty five minutes from the Sounders chance. Well, James and I were watching the game together and we said, there's goals in this game, and we were a little bit fortunate. Saint Louis had a couple of great opportunities, but we struck first and on the counter. We were just talking about it and we just needed to make that last final pass a good one, and we did. Christian got down the right, slotted it back and Albert just calmly side footed it in. It was great.

And then James, let's talk about the second goal read Baker Whiting. I mean the run and the finish. I hope they give the goal to him and it's not a deemed an own goal, but that was a heck of a job by the kid. It really was a great underlapping run and just try to put it in a good spot. Obviously was trying to serve it, but good things happen. Put it across the face of the goal and you know, was able to get a deflection, so they'll take it definitely

going to the locker room to zero. Yeah, indeed they will defensively. Currently Stephen Fry forty five minutes away from a club record fourteen clean sheets on the season, So we'll see if that continues. Overall, that is about as good of a forty five minutes as we're seeing from the Sounders in a long time. And listen, even to the broadcast, we said there's nobody

on the injury report. I don't think it's any coincidence that this team puts together their best forty five minutes with nobody on the injury report looking good right now in Saint Louis. Sounders leading Saint Louis by a score of two nothing. So Seattle are where they were forty five minutes ago, which is in third place in the West as of the moment of Vancouver, who are currently losing to LAFC Nothing that would be the Sounders first round opponent.

Really, honestly, looking at the results so far in Decision Day, there's only a couple things that have really changed. Sporting Kansas City leading to nothing over Minnesota. They've jumped up to eighth place, and because Houston is beating Portland by one nothing, the Timbers are now looking on the outside in They are tenth place out of the playoffs at this moment. That's really the one big headline so far on decision day, we'll see how it evolves in

the next forty five minutes. And to that point, you know, we were just talking about in the break chance and James the elements of how Brian Schmitzer approaches the next forty five minutes in this match leading to nothing, specifically to nothing. Also knowing that you can only control what you can control. Yeah, absolutely, I think the first thing that they need to do is shut out. That is the first thing that they need to take care of.

Secondly, you're right, Brian needs to, you know, manage the players. There's a couple players on yellow cards. We don't want to lose them, not only for this game to try to keep the lead, but for the first you know, beginning of the playoffs. So there's a couple of things that he needs to think about. And then I don't know, James and I were talking about that, and I'm sure James has something to add to that as well. Yeah, I mean, it's it's a result

oriented business for me. They need a result at a minimum draw, right, That means they're giving up two goals, which we don't want to happen. But you get out of this game with a result. How does that happen? You're strategic with it. You have a couple guys on a yellow card. You understand, two zero the most dangerous lead in soccer, right, So getting that third goal is important. Taking the sting out of the game, like we talked about, now with the lead becomes vitally important.

Now you're in the match management. Sometimes match management happens, you know, five minutes left of the game. Now you're in match management for the entire half. How do you manage this game correctly on the road up to zero with some guys on yellow card accumulation? You know? So it's you know, some things that this group is experienced in doing, and that's what I was going to say. The amount of experience on that in this team,

even with the guys on the bench is phenomenal. So now you have experience that you can bring off the bench that have won championships, that have been in big games. So Sanders are sitting in a good spot, but a dangerous spot if they get complacent. That's a good point. And the chances you mentioned Christian Roll, Don Yeamark, Golems Andrade both on yellow cards.

The bench is probably the best bench Brian Spencer may have ever had. Hobby or Ariaga, knew Who Rowery, dis Freddy Montero, Nicholas Ladero, A Bear, Kellen Rowe, Obed Vargas and Stephan Cleveland. Is an amazing bench. So there will be some match management into and looking at other scores. We know Brian is going to have somebody in his ear telling him scores from other games, so he will be aware of that here. Over the next

forty five minutes we'll step aside. We'll be back for the postmatch show where all of these playoff scenarios will be finally finalized. You can listen and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back everybody to City Park in Saint Louis. After an enthralling first half where everything went right

for the Sounders. It was back and forth, up and down. Sounders lead at the half two goals to nil off the back of a Roznak twenty third minute goal from a great assist by Roldan, and there was a read Baker Whiting who flashed inside the box trying to cross the ball from the end line and he was given us an own goal of Parker in the thirty eighth minute. So, Steve, as we get going here, the team start to work their way out onto the field. Sounders couldn't have asked for a

better first half. But what's Brian Schmittz's message to his team in that half time? Team top, I think you'll be just that it's only half time, like we have to keep going I think you know Saint Lewis is more than capable of coming back into this game and this next ten, fifteen to twenty minutes, they are going to push. It's a team that has a lot of pride, wants to end their season well, they want their own

momentum too, so you're gonna get their best shot. If you can withstand that, then maybe they start to make changes and they say, okay, we're gonna start to rest some players for the playoffs as well. If you're Bran schmets up, listen, I don't think they eleven't set in stone yet, so they're still guys out there the likes of a ten year and Reba Kawai, and you want to show that, listen, bus when a playoffs

start, for real, we want to be a part of it. And they've shown in the first stuff that they can be where you have to do it for another half. So can you repeat that sole performance because it's gonna take that and probably three games at times in the playoffs where it's not you're playing a team three times, and so one half is a very very small snapshot into what you need to do. I think the Sounders have a long

way to go stop. Yeah, a couple of yellow cards for the Sounders to be aware of rolled on and Yama on yellow cards from the first half, so see if that will make Brian influence his decisions somewhat and bringing those

players off. Yellow card accumulation does not carry through to the playoffs, but in the event that a play was to get a red card, that would carry through for a suspension in that first round proper, which as a reminder, is the best of three games, the top four teams in each conference get to play home field advantage, which is playing two of the three games

at home, so it'll go home, away home. If it ends with two wins out of two, then no third game is played and then there is no extra time, so in each of the three games it will go straight to pks if a tie happens after ninety minutes, and certainly for the Sounders, they do hope that they can clinch that top four spot. Says it stands right now and as we look at the standings, they have flip flopped all the way through this game. At one moment, Sounders were in

second position into today's game in third position. The sound is currently sitting in third position. If the result stand, it would be on fifty three points with the three points they get from today's game. Coming into tonight's game with fifty points, LEFC retain their position right now in second spot, leading one Golton Hill at Vancouver and then Houston leading one goldonill at the half to Portland. In Portland, they are sitting in fourth position and right now as results

stand, the team that will drop out is the Portland Timbers. So they currently were in playoff contention, but now they are dropped all the way down to tenth spot on forty three points. San Jose tying Austin one to one. They sit at one point above them in forty four Kansas City leading two goals to halftime against Minnesota. So Steve, it's gonna go back and forth.

We're gonna try and keep everybody updated as best we can. But what does the team need to do in this second half to try and eliminate that noise and then folks on their job at hand. Yeah, I think the coaching staff would have peaked at half time into the situation. Heyt's get left of Land, let see where we're at, and they be feeling good about it and then come in with the mesters of boys. Guys, one more half, one more half. It's been a long regular season, it's been

a tough one. Give us forty five more minutes, then we'll see what happens. Happens. You know, in the playoffs you've got to face the best teams. You've got to take a tough role. Sometimes this team's been there, this club's been there. So you're not right about that too much. You know you're in as long as you handle business. You cannot do any more than that. And right that the Sounders are. And I think as we get to the sixty fifth seventy fifth minute, if you have the

lead, you then stop thinking about Okay, job Parlo gets arrest. Maybe you're Jordan Morris, a Christian road one, guys that you're really going to need to ride in the playoffs only at that point, but for now and number forty five minutes, expect the best from Saint Louis and try to withstand that pressure and become playoff Freddy. Well, if you think we're hanging around not telling you what's happening in the game, we are because there is a

delay in the kickoff, and it's because LAFC played five additional minutes of overtime in that first half, so my gut tells me MLS is going to coordinate all the kickoffs at the same time, so everything is going to be good. So the ball is started now by the Sounders sounding Sounder shooting from right to left, green shirts, blue shorts and green socks, and Saint Louis in all red red shirts, red shorts, red socks attacking the goal to

our right. So no changes for the Sounders. We're looking at the team right now as they came out, which we want to make sure nothing changed. Stefan Fryn goal about four, Rolldan Yemar Reagan and Read Baker Whiting attend to alongside Jao Paolo and then roll Doan rosnak Leo Chu and Jordan Morris upfront as the Sounders number nine. Saint Louis did make one change Stroud came on the field. We're just going to get a confirmation on that change as Saint

Louis somewhat of a hole to find themselves out. They haven't been in that position too often at home. Very strong here in the news, Staynum, as you mentioned US men's national team games women's national team gaming played here this season already seventeen games straight of being sold out, So for Saint Louis is about sending their fans home happy, and right now the Sounders are keeping it very very quiet. As Jackson Reagan has it, tries to switch the point

of attack. He's done that well, from center to the far side, the right to Alex Roldan to Atensium. We'll see if Saint Louis make a slight tweak and change to their lineup as well, and also their formation. Trying to chase this game, they're gonna have to be aggressive in what they do. Sounders have it left hand side, Leo Chew top of the box, plays into Jordan Morris, tries to flick it back, Leo two gets on his right foot, goes past marking Itch on his right foot just off

the line. Tim Parker's god on go on the first half saved an inevitable third goal for the Sounders and they retain possession with a Tensio to Christian rolled one on the right hand side Flix It in collected easily by Burkie but Steve good chance for the Sounders and it was not but a Tim Parker clearance off

the line, it would been three nil. Yeah, and I think Tim Parker just saved the game for Saint Louis theair because you're going at halftime, could you know you have a speech, You get the ra ro speech from your colt. You say, okay, just give it a good ten to fifteen minutes, try to get back into the game. If you can see that third goal. The fans are out of it. It's done, this

game is over and Leo two. I mean it was fantastic. The given goal Jordan Morris didn't quite go as planned in the end, it still worked out well. And this part is just brilliant. We've seen a replay here. Dribbles goal so he's weaker right side. We're not used to see him seeing him do that too often. It's a fantastic finish also by Leo true and that is going into the back of the net. Great clearance by Tim Parker and he just saved the game for Saint Louis there because three nail is

a long way back. So lineup for Saint Louis Burkey and Gold, Navinsky, park and Nielsen and Markinich. No changes in the back and forth. A few changes in the midfield, though Stroud comes in for what's on the right hand side. Levin Blum comes off Vasa lev on the field Jackson and then Giacchini and Klaus both ten goal men this year and Bredley Cornell's gonna looking for some goals. For me. It's two cents of forwards to get themselves

back in the game. But it's Jackson who's able to riggle free to Giacchini. Top of the box, goes to Stroud, good block by the sounding of striking, a wonderful save by Stephan Fry, good left footed strike by Jackson. Stephan Fry is able to perry it away. Markinich comes in. Jp got to knock in the first half, clears it over the far touch line for a Saint Louis throwing. But it's gonna become thick and fast,

Eve zac Quarni in these first minutes of the second half. I mean, it's very reminiscent to the first five minutes for the first half, but maybe even more action here. And that's a great save by Stephan Fry. And it's hit really really well there with the left foot, but Stephen Fry sees it all the way so decent height for him, but gets really too strong hands to it, pushes away out of danger, and it's that next goal here you see you see the third one for the Sounders. Yes, that's

game set and match. Lewis gets one. Suddenly this crowd finds his voice again. It wakes up. Then you're under pressure, and then you really put the momentum shift towards the home team. So this next ten to fifteen minutes for the Sounders. Sounders don't have to score, but you do not want to concede. You want to stay solid, stay steady defense as you have expect that they will create chances. It's a very good team. You scored a lot of goals this year. That does happen by mistake, it's

by design. It's a very very good team. But I do think they are facing the second best defense in the entire league, the best in the Western Conference. And you're seeing why. Stephen Fry again fantastic safe. Yep. A few slight tweaks to formation as well. Jackson, who played on that left hand side in the first half, has slid into the center of the park. That's the left's going to sit in front of the back. Four more a defensive holding player and that's going to allow Leven Stroud and Jackson

to push forward and support their two front men. And it's Stroud on this near side. The right goes down by Rebaker waitting, you know, the good solid first half for the young left back steps in for Knew who today and flicks at his right foot fourteen assists man on the year, six goals for the newcomer left hand side. Marketing knocks it in clear by combination of Yemar and now Alex Roldan. Eventually cleared by Alex Roldan. So we Tim

Parkers who clept up the loose ball played back to the goalkeeper. A little loose on that back pass, but Burkey was far enough outside of his goal to clean it up. Or gets launched long down the Saint Louis left hand side off the chest of Alex Roldan. Nice and calm by the Sounders right back, but japing a bit of difficulty there with that pass close down well by Jackson, little nudge in the bags. We a free kick for the Sounders and that's gonna be exactly what they need. And as well as reported,

Houston going up two goals to nil. In Portland, and if you're a Portland fan, and that's terrible news. If you're a Sounders fan, has wonderful news. Houston to nil, Houston has been another team on the up and up, and that Ben Olsen had a really great season this year, and that shifts things up again, retains Houston's position in fourth place. Sitting right now on fifty one points, sound is in third place, leading

two goals to nil. Here in Saint Louis on fifty three points, LAFC leading in Vancouver at fifty four points, and then Saint Louis what he won the Western Conference title set on fifty six points, but there will be lots of change still to come. As Saint Louis come to Jackson tries to wriggle free of a combination of Atensio and JP. He does the far side, the left a little bit time and space comes back to Vassilev wriggles free of

Jordan Morris. Leven men behind the ball for the sound is deep in their half of the field. Comes this near sight to Stroud. He's gonna whip it in with his right foot towards the back post. Header by Levin. There's a big, powerful centil midfield player. There's not yet typical number ten heads. The ball over the top Sounders goal cake remains Sounders to Saint Louis Nil sez that Quani. I think this half is going as expected. I mean we knew that they would be a push from Saint Louis, and they're

going to push for it. They're going to give it a good twenty thirty minutes. Fifteen twenty minutes, here's to try and find that first goal. And if they can't, I really do see. This's been a case of look, we've had a great season, we're in the playoffs. Now we're not going to get back tonight. Then they'll start to make subs. But the speech half time would have been, guys, I need fifteen minutes, Klaus, give me fifteen minutes, Leven, give me fifteen minutes. It

let's try and find a goal. Put them under pressure and branch Menser and these men would have expected this, and so nothing we're seeing right now is out of ordinary. What the Sounders are doing well, is it not giving away quality chances maybe one or two of the entire game. Aside from that, it's a lot of half chances set pieces, crosses headers under pressure, and that's a very good sign at this stage of the season if you're not

giving up quality chances to the opponent. Well, for the Sounder is coming into a really tough place in Saint Louis. Fifty five percent possessions so far, the team green four corner kicks in that first half, and for the Sounders it's all about being more potent the offensive third. Brian Schmitz has demanded it from his team all week in practice. Certainly, the team's responded. Two goals in that first half from Rosneck and an own goal by Tim Parker

off the heels across from Red Baker. Whiting who's stepping in tonight for new who is the tentio has it driving forward left corner of the box, wriggles free from vatslev They'll cut board to Leo two little step over inside the box, they'll nudge by. Parker tries to wriggle free, doesn't. Levin plays the ball to Klaus, but it evades the big number nine, goes all

the way back to Stephan and fry degcked out in all blue. Tonight, Sounders attacking the goal to our left and Steve as much as it is about trying to find that third goal. We know that two nil is a dangerous lead in soccer, but it's about time management, game management, and what a great introduction to the playoffs in a place like this, coming in that first half and really feeling at home. I don't think you could have scripted this any better in terms of where do you want to go on decision day.

You want to go to a team that is still fighting for something. Yes, their first in the West, but they have pride. Those seats are filed for a reason. They wanted to celebrate, they wanted to have a party, they wanted to really intimidate the Sounders, and the Sounders I've gone into an environment that they're gonna probably have to face a few more times in this postseason if it goes as we wanted to go. And so this is perfect for them. And they lacks of read ba kawai and just attentional

whate experience to playing this kind of game that still does mean something. And if the Sounders, you know, you say, we can end us higher second place, but we have to do take care of business, and so far to doing just that. Jakeeny Interjackson the box left foot off the crossbar. It was a good flashing run by the young central midfield player gets in behind the back fourth for the Sounders with his left foot and it clips off

the crossbar. Gonna be a Sounder's goal kick, but again shows the threat of Saint Louis on the counter attack. It was a really good attack. Then I just think if the youngster delays for a moment there he has class making a late run. And that's the difference with what Christian Rodune did in the first off. Just that little bit of experience to say you don't always

have to take the first option. Another option may emerge and Indian the Sounders will build out, but Saint Lewis given another glimpse of how dangerous they can be when they get going forward out in the open field. Sounders give the ball away in their defensive third of the field. Little sloppy by the Sounders those first ten minutes to the second half to be a free kick for Saint Louis's attentional bundled down the Saint Louis midfielder. We've seen the delivery that Levin

can provide. It's going to be his right foot again. He steps over it, this time left foot comes in top of the six yard box, headed clear by Morris. Overhead kicked by Leo Chu. Not particularly effective as it fans the feet of Stroud, who's gonna whip it in top of the box. Leven pressure by attention, needs to stay in his feet right corner of the box clips it in. Comes off the back of Japallo. To his fellow countryman Klaus, it's a sounders, we're able to pick up the

loose ball. Morris to chew this near side the left. The Cheo got the pay he's a Parker, of course he does. Parker tries to pull him down. It's not for a good recovery and by vassal Lev finds Jordan Morris inside the box gets clipped forth to the ground. Nothing given by the referee. See if er takes a look. Jordan Morris stays on the deck. He's smiling. I'm sure if that's a smart because he knows that the referee is gonna take a look. And to listen, when we look at

that play, we're gonna think about how fast Leo Chew just ran. But I want to say it was Jordan Morris who played through the past. So if Chu was going quickly and Jordan's still got into the box to receive the pass from True, I mean that's the too fastest players barefoot. Him just taken off and said Lewis had no chance. Listen, poor Tim Parker, he doesn't what's quick enough to pull him down into that white channel, the worst place for sunder back at this point, and Leo Chew and Jordan Morris

doing very well India and Jordan couldn't quite get out of his feet. I don't think there's enough there to say a clean obvious error. But the sound is showing themselves in transition. They're really really good at take well. Tonight's match is brought to you by bud Light. Bud Light was brewed to be a delicious and easy to drink beer. Bud Light easy to drink, easy

to enjoy. Pick up bud Light at your local retailer today. Please enjoy responsibly read Baker Whiting gets a little treatment from Chris Cornish on the field. Knew who getting ready, so it's giving an early change for the Sounders. In this second half. We'll get to those subs. We'll give those subs

for the Sounders for tonight's game. O bit Vargas on the bench, Nico Lodero Knew who looks like he stripped off and ready to come on the field, Ralroy Diaz, Kelen row E, Bear, Montero Cleveland and Ariaga strong. Strong bench for the Sounders, as strong as we've seen it all season long. And Brian Schmetzer has the full array of his talents available for selection tonight. We'll see if Brian Schmetzer makes a change. Read Baker Whiting another

good first half by the young man. Still getting a little treatment. Let's get some of those results as there around the Western Conference right now impacting all these different positions. See read Baker whiteon going off the field. Houston leading two goals to nil against Portland, Kansas City two, Minnesota nil. Big result there for Kansas City got off to a horrible start in the season,

but I kicked on from the halfway point. LA Galaxy may as well be on the beach, losing four goals to one against Dallas Colorado nil, Salt Lake nil, LAFC leading one goal to nil against Vancouver San Jose, tying one one with Austin. That does put them into the playoffs. The ball goes quickly to roll down and we saw Steve a bit of a dejected read Baker Whiting. Is that potential injury, Yeah, he's disappointment coming off the field. No, I think it must be he's felt something there because it

seems early to bring on knew Who as well. And I don't think it's a game where you have to play new if you didn't want to, because read big Whiteon was doing so well, so he looked dejected and al Freddie Montero veteran gone over there and really consoling. Game again, he was able to walk off his own power. So of course we hope he's not nothing too serious. But if you're playing as well as he did, you want to stay in that rhythm and form. You'd never want to be forced out

of the game with any kind of injury. So wait to hear full time what exactly happened there. But he did not look to be too comfortable there. But it also shows how much he cares. Yeah, if it is a factor of just coming off the field, good on you, young man. As the ball goes into Klaus to Relerve on top of the box, he's got a strike We've seen it before, this time as a dipping low shot to Stephen Fry's right goes over the end line. Goalkick Sounders remained.

Saint Louis nil Sounders too, and as the results come in, we've heard of a tying goal up in Vancouver. Vancouver agatting that equalizing goal to make it one one, and with that the Sounders leap frog LAFC into second position. As we mentioned, things will change rapidly in this next thirty minutes. Get here. In the sixtieth minute in City Park, Sounder is currently in

second spot. With those fifty three points, LAFC drop back down to third, and if the results hold, the Sounders are going to be in second spot, LAFC third, Houston leading two goals snill in Portland, they'll take that home field advantage spot in fourth, and it's all to play for Below that. Salt Lake City currently in fifth Vancouver and sixth Dallas leading four goals to one. As we mentioned against ELI Galaxy, not much is going to

change there. They'll they hold in seventh position and then that play in spot eighth versus ninth will happen in the midweek, coming up a one game playoff to see who pushes into the first round proper. Currently, Kansas City of leap Frog, San Jose, and Portland sit in eighth, San Jose in ninth. Leo Chwo has it left corner of the boxes to flick it through the legs of Novinski. Able to do so, Knew who charges forward, comes off his chest, goes over the end line for Saint Louis. Goal

kit remains Saint Louis nil. Sounders too see Zacquanning, and I think it's gone exactly as Branchmith, so wh would have wanted to go to plan? The first fifteen sixty minutes of the second half, you know, a couple of half chances, maybe one good chance that forced to save from Stephen Fry. No goals conceded by the Sounders. Sounders, on the other hand, could have scored another one themselves, maybe another two events, so to nails

sixteen minutes here. Now you're now you're entering that territory about real game management here where the coaching stuff is all have to decide. Are there any guys out there that we really want to wrap in cotton wool? Is there any guys that we want to get a bit of sharpness. Rau Luidiaz, for example, you know, hasn't played much, hasn't been at his best this season. But if he can get anywhere in the form of the Rudia, as we know, in a four or five weeks span, there's probably no

one in the league you still take over him at this point. So those sorts of things will start going through the coaching stuff's mind now and we'll see how the Sounders manage it. But at too nail here, sitting pretty comfortable, Saint Louis will still push a bit more, but I think both coaches have choices to make it in terms of how much does this last fit of minutes mean to you in comparison to what the next few weeks could mean.

Bor goes into Gakini lays back to Stroud, back to Nevinsky's little combination between the right hand side players. For Saint Louis, JP goes to the ground. That's for a free kick, nothing given by the assistant referee on this near side. Gikini picks at the ball. Well, Joe Klaus is going to be certainly an option to come off the field miss fifteen regular season games this year. They'll want to wrap him up for the playoffs. How important

he has been on and off the field. As Levin has the top of the box, goes square to Markinich comes on his weaker right foot back to Levin. Good challenge by JP, but he only finds Navinsky on this near side. The right comes back to Tim Parker on goal scorer for Sounders' second goal in that first half. With Baker white, he had to step off the field, look like a little bit of an injury. Stroud has it right corner of the box, rolls into Navinsky towards the end line, flicks

it up, comes off the head of Jao. Paolo goes off the end line for a corner cap force Saint Louis. Saint Louis gonna come in waves now continue to push and press Home fans get behind them, getting on their feet. JP walks away a little sheepish, not sure if anything's gonna be looked at. Hornerkick does come in by Leven, headed clear up and away by Reagan and again by Christian Roldan. Jordan Morris is gonna press. Levinski heads it back up. Tensio tries to close down a little quiet in the

middle of the park. Is the tensio. JP has been all over the places. He's there again as he launches the ball out of bounds, but back where we belong. Your Seattle Sounders are heading into playoffs. Sixty fourth minute here at City Park, Saint Louis, Sounders leading two goals to nil. Bull goes down the line clear Eventually be Markenich isn't able to keep it in bounds. It's going to be a Sounders thrown. As they methodically walk up the right hand side, ball in the hands of Alex rolled On and things will continue to change. As we mentioned throughout the course of the next thirty minutes or so, there was a delay we believe coming into

the start of the second half, so all games were aligned. The ball goes towards the end line to Jordan Morris who clips it back up. Flick by Christian roll Done, just cleared off the chest of Rosneck by Stroud there's Jackson who tries to knock it down the line, eron passed by the young

central midfield player goes over the end line and Steve. Certainly, when you think about the strength and depth of sounders have not much of a drop in quality if players coming off the field as they are going on the field. Yeah, it really isn't. And you know, it really isn't. And we're thinking about, you know, a season where how many times has branch Meant have been able to call up on his very best eleven not many strike by Christian roll done. Goodness gracious, it was pushed up in the air

by Burkie. It slipped through his fingers for a split second, but calmly, calmly he was off the goal. Life was more calm than because we thought he gets it. He was pretty calm. I thought I was going to the back of it. I mean, it's a good strip by Christian roll done. I think it's central and high, so goalkeeper should deal with

it here and it goes through his hands in yet very calmly. That was not far from crossing the line at all, but to the point where making I think branch met So hasn't really been able to call his best eleven most of the season, but it may end up being a blessing in the skies for the sound is because you are getting everyone backfit, back into form. And again we mentioned the bench today, it's a very strong bench. Ball in the box for Saint Louis. G Key tries to wriggle free p K.

Given it was a challenge by Christian roll down. He's saying that he didn't touch him. Of course, if VR do their job, they'll take a look. As of right now, referee Marufo has pointed to the spot there's gonna be a PK for Saint Louis. But by the look on Christians face and listen, every player commits a foul. He is always saying that innocent, yes, But Christian roll done here. I mean he is adamant that. I mean you can read his lips and say I did not touch

him. Job Potters over there, we're getting our first sign of the replay here and that's gonna be overturned. It's gonna be that's gonna be a yellow card as well. For similation, he jumped two feet up in the end. There's nothing there that is, if anything, he stumps on Christians to it. So that is gonna be yellow card overturn. And it's similation. It's not one of those where players come together and you can lose your balance a bit. No, that's a dive, plain and simple, and he's

tried to con the referee and he has but that will be overturn. It has to be. I think it has to be seen some of these. There's no way. There's no way. I mean, the interesting thing there was a clash of legs and if he'd have just stayed and maybe dragged it

somehow and made it not so obvious. Yeah, we'll see. Brian Schwitzer, I think it was a Christian's response on me, and he was adamant and sometimes he's He just was that I absolutely did not touch him, and he doesn't the replay again, you're right, we don't know what vir is going to see, what the referee in the reviewer are going to look at here exactly. But if they're not in Jian Maroof was just saying, look, you need to come take a look at the monitor here for yourself,

like there's no contact there. That is not a penalty and it's a yellow cardist it's simulation will sound as f C socket is presented by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC and Steve. The manner in which Yakini went down, I think Providence may need to be called into action. He went down heavy. Yeah, there he goes, got the little nod by the

VR. The referees jog into the sideline's going to take a look at the monitor and I cannot imagine it's going to be anything other than overt and from the referee and a potential yellow card for gikini. For simulation, we're looking at the replace not even a great angle. It needs to be on the angle other side the other side, yah, because on this angle you can kind of make a claim that they do make contact. But in my opinion, he's the one that stamps on Christian roll done. But quick decision by

the referee. You can hear by the boos or what the decision is and Christian well done. Will take a breath. But I think, as we mentioned before, his response was immediate. We'll see if the if Gikini will get a yellow card. I'm surprised he's protesting. If I was, I'd be walking a running away from the ref as fast as possible. But and

Christians aswer for the yellow card. He so Christian roll done is asked for the yellow card because I I'm such a strong believer and that's the only way to out diving is strong, harsh penalties and things like that, just overturning it, but not punishing the playt for trying to con the referee. It'll keep happening well, certainly around the around the world. Now they're trying to

stamp out the simulation of the yellow card as well. And whenever a player puts up his hands to simulate a yellow card, he's the one that gets a yellow card. But yeah, diving, try to cheat your own fellow professionals is not what you want to do. We'll see if there was a yellow card, given I didn't see anything. Given Saint Louis have it far side the left with marknich tries to find Jack's in the middle of the field. JP been all over the field tonight, just stepping in and winning balls.

There's an errant pass again by Saint Louis, and knew who's going to have be in no hurry to walk over and take this to continue to look at the standings. Sounders retain their position as it stands right now in second place. Saint Louis, of course, came into decision day sitting in first spot, already locked up their Western Conference title. It was all to play

for. Sounders came into tonight's game, depending on results, could have been in second spot, which is where they sit now, all the way down

to sixth position, depending on results. There's a leerv And flicks with the outside of his foot to Mark and it stepped inside from his left back spot, comes into the middle to Vassilev available to the right is Novinsky gets it good touch, Forward plays the ball square into Jackson, just wriggles free of JP plays the ball inside to Giacchini and this time it is a pull by Jackson rigg and that is gonna be a free kick, and it was on

Giacchini again. See if the referee is gonna pull out as yellow card he does. Yeah, And I don't think Jackson does much wrong here. The only thing happens is, you know, when you're allowed afford to get the inside track on you, you're trying to recover. There's not any intentional reach by Jackson at all, but there is a clash of bodies here and it is a foul, A little tug there and that's all it's got to take. That's what it's gonna take. And Jeakuni on this occasion he is fouled

again. Not much contact, but as a striker you don't need much contact. You're gonna use that little arm tug by Jackson and it's a yellow card because he was in gey and us his experience kind of wrapped his own arm around Jackson O Reagan and bought the free kick. Mr come across cleared his

lines. So both Sounders center backs now sitting on yellow cards along with roaldn It's gonna be a free kick for Saint Louis Fasta left with his left foot, Leervin with his right foot, about twenty two yards from goal, right of center of Stephan and Fry. As he's looking at it, Sounders hold their wall ten yards away. It's leven straight into the wall. Good solid war by the Sounders, but it comes to Mark and it drives it forward. Good save by Stephen Fry. Well struck by the Saint Louis left back.

The stephro and Fry went down to his right hand side. Gather the ball good saved by the Sounders goalkeeper remains Saint Louis nil Sounders too, and as we start to see a couple more goals coming in and we're gonna wait for confirmation, but it looks like Houston have added another goal in Providence Park as Christian vall Dan takes the left footage shot, tries to find the bottom corner as Burkey is able to save it, but it goes over the end

line for a Sounders corner kick. Well, Vancouver tying l EFC right now, and the Sounders may not have won Cascadia Cup this year, but decision day is going as well as it possibly could for the Sounders, getting help from both Vancouver is currently are tying LAFC one one up in Vancouver in Houston

if we get a confirmation, leading three goals in all against Portland. As the ball comes in whipped in by Rosnat towards the far post, flicked away by Levin to the far side the Sounders right, it's going to be a throw in five yards from the corner flag, right in front of the assistant referee. Sounders are gonna be in no rush to take this. As we get here in the seventy fourth minute, Saint Louis nil Sounders two. Alex Roldan's gonna be a long throw. We've seen this before. We've seen the

flick by Atensi. We've seen the goal by rolled On just a couple of games ago against the La Galaxy in that last minute winner. But Saint Louis come away in transition. We've seen how dangerous they are in the first half.

In transition, stroud On this far near side the right love and try to wriggle free good challenge by Jackson Regan comes back to help his team, ventually cleared by Christian roll Dan. But Sounders fans, if Sounders FC scores any time after the eighty eighth minute during a home match, you'll have the chance to win free Lasik surgery from Sharp Vision, Modern Lasik and lens sign

up today SOUNDERSFC dot com slash Laser focus. As for a split second, Jordan Morris had wriggle free Leo Chus and support, but Vasilev is able to win the ball and play it to Jia Kini and here come Saint Louis again try to find that first goal. As he mentioned, they've been dominant at

home on nine different occasions, scoring three or more goals. All goes into Jack's nice little layoff, two strout towards the end line, cutback and there he is again Jp right place, right time, read the play well and Knew was able to stride forward. He's gonna wriggle free ne Vinskin. There's part of that is a dirty, dirty challenge, and we'll see what the referee gives. It's an immediate yellow card, but I would not be surprised

Steve if Vaer takes a little look and really really bad. He knows exactly what he's doing because he's not gonna want to run with new Who here New Who pushes it by him, and yeah, I mean in the end, I think it will stand as a yellow card. There. He didn't make the contact he was looking precisely, but he went in there with the intention to really really take a new Who out, which he did. But in the end he's gonna be lucky here because he doesn't end up making the full

contact he could have, and knew Who's lucky for that reason too. But is a horrible challenge by Parker and great run by Knew Who Great and We're actually lucky that Parker didn't do what he wanted to do there because they could have been a lot worse. I'm surprised Parker isn't on a second, Yeller, because when you think about the pullback as well, it's not about whether you executed on the play, was whether you were the attempt, and in

today's game, it's the attempt as much as anything would get you. The yellow card. Referee's been a bit inconsistent. Yeah, yeah, he has been, and I think in this occasion, Parker's benefit from that because that could have been a lot worse. Or goes to it towards the end line, Parker almost let it go. We did try to let it go and it was attent to have flashed in behind, almost saved it goes over the

end line for a Saint Louis throwing remains Saint Louis nil. Sounders two here at City Park in Saint Louis and if you lift listening to us on Sounders FC's stream channel and iHeartRadio, we appreciate you joining us. Things so far looking up for the Sounders in all capacities. As the sound lead here two goals to nil, putting them currently in second spot. That's because l EFC are only drawing up in Vancouver one one one, Houston leading and pushing himself

to four spot. And let's talk about that Houston result right now. Three goals to nil up against Portland in Providence Park. It's a great result for Sounders fence and currently with that result, Portland are looking on the outs as if results Stan Portland are sitting intent spot outside of those playoff spots. A couple of changes for Saint Louis Samadena On former sounder comes on for Giacchini and Thomas Ustrecht comes on the field for Markinich. A couple of offensive moves for

Bradley Carnell. Samadnaan's had a wonderful second half of the season when out on loan after a couple of games in the first team to San Antonio came back. There's been an absolutely on fire. Scored the opening goal in five different games to put eight goals on the season for a Samber Denner on and Bran Schwetz was asked about sam he certainly plays for any former Sounders. As Jordan Morris tries to close down Burkey's able to get rid of it, there's a

denner on flecks the ball onto Klaus as Jackson. Reagan's pushing up, Nielsen challenges Christian Roll. Dan bundles over the Sounders number seven, thirty five yards from Burkey's goal, right of center. It's going to be a free kick for the Sounders. Remained Saint Louis Nil Sounders too. And I've been saying pretty much or even longer. You know, at some point, no branch

Mets is going to look into resting Joe parlor. But he's been everywhere and he's been absolutely fantastic, and they probably you don't want to take him out because you want to keep him in this rhy him and as long as he feels good, you're probably just saying, look like you've had some time off since the last game, just keep playing. And he's been absolutely outstanding tonight, saying Jordan Morice on top of his heads. Leo Chu tries to guide

it into that far corner. What's going in there? Thenually cleared by Tim Parker and again good composed strike by Leo Chu. We've already seen that from Rozneck with his left foot was able to guide it in the corner for that Sounder's first goal. This time he was Leo Chu flicks it off Leervin and it's near side the Sounders left. We give a throw in four. The Sounders a couple of changes to look down Nicol Ladero. Oh, but Vargas

getting stripped off getting final instructions from Brian Schmitzer. We'll see what changes those will be for the Sounders. Eleven. We mentioned a couple of players on yellow cards. We'll see if Brian's going to take that into consideration. Of course, Leo chew on that yellow card, as he mentioned during the week for taking his shirt off for that goal against Portland. Leo Choo's gonna be one of the men to make way. I think it's both two Brazilians because

the job Parlo as well seems to be walking this way as well. So yeah, Leo Chu goes down, it sees the board and I don't know if that's a bit of cramp potentially or bang on the leg. Either way, Leo Chu is the men to go off the go. Ladero is gonna come on. We'll see what kind of tweaks and changes will be made by the Sounders. Is it gonna be Rosneck's gonna slide back alongside Josh Atensio,

potentially gonna move Ladero up. What's gonna be at Vargas. We're seeing a couple of goals to report, Salt Lake City going up one goal to nil against Colorado, Kansas City getting their third goal against Minnesota leading three goals to nil, fall and as we mentioned, trailing three goals to nil. Some of these games are starting to really establish themselves now. I think San Jose Austin is really a game to watch, one one that could change things up

as well. Chu comes off the field or but Vargas comes on, We'll see some of those formational changes. Nicole Adrea might be a light for like on that left hand side alongside for Leo Chew. Vargas is gonna sit alongside Josha Tensio potentially, Yeah, and it looks that way. And Darroll, you know, he'll play this well. Probably need to encourage new to get forward a lot more. And Daryl yes to be on the left hand side.

But he's gonna roam. It's seen his nature. He's on attucking side, try to create extra overloads centrally, but I finish Coaches staff may ask him as well to be listen, be a bit more conscious of being a bit more under on this left hand side. We don't want new who went up all the way this season, trying to play more of a back three

in the attacke with new Who tucking inside as well. So we'll see what kind of tweak this ends up looking like in actual formation here as it plays out or goes along to a dennerin And certainly for San Jose, if they they're currently on forty four points in ninth spot, and I'm just trying to figure out my math, if they obviously retain that one to one result against Austin, that does lift them over Portland, who are currently sit in tenth

by a point. If somehow Austin are able to get a goal back, that would put them level on points with Portland, and wins is going to be the first kicker. Portland have eleven wins, San Jose have ten wins. So all those draws in the season for San Jose, we mentioned it in our games against San Jose, they were in great winning positions giving up goals late. Could that come back to haunt them and could Portland find themselves into the back trapdoor into the playoffs. We'll see how things play out.

As we get here in the eighty second minute Saint Louis nil, Sounders two. We're hearing about a Portland goal. Is that going to be a consolation goal or is that going to be the start of a fight back for Portland as they trail three goals to one. As Jordan Morris is inside the box, just drags it wide, wriggled free of Tim Parker. Again. Parker's had a torrid evening so far. He is only able to drag his shot. Why goes over the end line for a Saint Louis goal? Kit remains

Saint Louis nil. Sounders too. See that shot just come across. Look at the replay and here comes Saint Louis again, this time taking no chance. Is going to knock it long to Klaus You mentioned miss fifteen games of the regular season, but still is able to score ten goals. So we'll see if he's gonna make the full ninety It might be a game fitness issue for him. A good chance to get ninety minutes under his belt before playoffs

start. And we're not going to know the dates of games at the end of this evening, but we will certainly know who's going to play who you mentioned. The eighth ninth playoff game will be in the middle of the week, and then the game starts sending themselves up for the next ten days thereafter. Destroud tries to flick it around new who nothing there, who clears his lines, goes out of bounds back to Stroud. He throws it in quickly

to Novinsky thirty five yards from the end line. On this near right position. Levin tries to flick it around the corner. Knew a little bit erratic on the clearance. Eventually on the second attempt, knocks it down the line. Sound is content just putting eleven men behind the ball and Steve when we think about playoff games and the type of environments that the Sounders may have to go into depending on where they sit. Of course, this was a really

good test for them coming into tonight's game. It really was, and they've passed the Flying Carlers, and I think Bran Schmidtz, especially in the second half, you know, would have seen what he wanted to see because at Too Nail you were expecting, you know, sort of an onslow and avalanche of attack from Saint Louis, and they tried, but I think the Sound has just really stifled him by defending really well, keeping them at bay.

And now the Sound is on the attack, rolled down on top of the box is able to wriggle free pull down by Levin, very similar to Jackson Reagan on ga KINI just a few moments ago. And it's going to be a free kick for the Sounders just two yards outside the eighteen yard box and we'll see if the referee pulls out his yellow card. And that's where it consistent. You mentioned again you don't have to see players book to call for

that. But how that's not a yellow card? After what you gave Jackson Breagan, Christian Road Done's about to pull the trigger so much more blatant. Yeah, is a yard outside the eighteen yard box. Fantastic run by Christian Road Done. Again, It's just a yellow card. It's just a yellow card. But Jai Marufo and branch Mets is asking a question, how is that not a yellow card? Has been extremely inconsistent by this This referee refereed me. So he's been around for a very long time, and you expects

more from such an experienced ref. But then that's an unbelievable decision not to put that a yellow card. You know, you don't want to ask for yellow cards, but you're just looking for consistency a year, and that was certainly warranting a yellow card. But it's going to be a Sounder's opportunity. Can they find their third goal and really put this game to bed. It's Ladero with his left foot up and over the wall. Could save by Berkie.

It was to Burke's right high into that top corner. Was a really good stripe by Ladero, but it's the goalkeeper for Saint Louis able to get his fingertips and it goes over the top corner kick Sounders. But really good opportunity by Ladero. Yeah, it was nicol a Dero try it sometimes you go decide the goalkeepers on and he almost catches out a goalkeeper there but saw it well enough and gets a good strong hand to it. But great attemper Nico Adero, who now goes over to sake the corner. Caut for the

Sounders. Nicolodeera was his left foot. Minnesota pulled the goal back against Kansas City three goals to one. Right now, as the ball comes in towards the back post. Knew Who tries to get high, flick back in by Christian, rolled on towards the back post, collected by Jackson. Reagan's able to flick it to the top of the box, brought down by Tantio and that was a wonderful rugby tackle. But it could be Klaus in transition for Saint Louis whips it in, played by knew Who, and there's a Tensio

drops the ball off to Ladero court in possession. Tantia goes in strong and hard. It's a little careful to the number eighty four for the Sounders. We are certain yellow card and the ball goes out of bounds, but it goes to Stroud on the right hand side in the box, closed down well by Vargas. There's a yellow card for Atensio. Impressive tackle, yeah, I mean like picture perfect, wrapped him around the waist he was doing then. Yeah, And at first I thought it was Reagan and I'm like,

if that's Reagan, he's off. But it wasn't a trying to stop the counter attack taking we call it a professional fouls deserve. I think that was it deserved. I mean if there was an easier yellow card to be given, I'm not sure if there would be one. Another change for the Sounders pragmatic Brian Schmitzer Rozneck comes off the field. It's gonna be Haviriaga is gonna

come on. Put the Sounders to three. As the ball comes in flicked away by Jackson Reagan from Levin's corner kick with l dar just staying on his feet, it was gonna jump. It doesn't. Ball gets flicked out of bounds on the far side. The Sounder is right for a Sounders thro We'll see if Brian Schmitzer shifts to a three of the back. Most likely will Ariaga comes on the field. It's going to close up shop. Brian mentioned in some of his pressers it's about taking the game for what you've gotten.

Right now, the Sounders leading two goals nil here in the eighty eighth minute. Results so far going the Sounders way. Vancouver still in a tie one to one with LAFC. That puts l EFC in third position and the Sounders as it stands right now, are going to hold second spot in the West because the Sounders have it in the attacking half of the field. With Jordan Morris, Wriggles free plays the ball in. They'll flick around the corner by

Atensio goes out of bound. It's going to be a Saint Louis throwing Saint Louis making their final changes, trying to find a way to put a smile on their home fans' faces. Sounders have come in, done a real professional job, found two goals in the first half off Rozneck an own goal by

Tim Parker, and have really closed up shop in the second half. Sep Fri has been called upon just a couple of times, made a couple of good saves in the first half and the second half, but the Sounders continue to retain, potentially Stephen Fry's fourteenth clean sheet of the season to beat his record from twenty seventeen. Sat Lou's have it fast side the leftttaining some possession. Leven men behind the ball for the Sounders. Ladero wins the ball attention,

flicks it to Ladera. He hear the Sounders come in transition. Jordan morrites in support. Ladera has in the far side the right attention to it, does a little overlapping run. Ladera flicks it off the heels of Leervin, who's all his experience, goes over the far touch line for a throw

in for the Sounders. And it's been a very professional job by the Sounders as this game is war on and it's as we felt send News would give a strong punch early on, but when he became apparent that the Sounders team would not break, it's really just become a case managing the game for the sound and still having your moments when you can get into the attack and maybe try to find your own third goal, but you don't need it, and I think now you really want to fight for that clean sheet, give it.

Stephan Fry, last game of regular season to break a record from six years ago. I mean, the consistency in that alone is absurd from Stephan Fry, and that's been one shining light consistent this season is the defensive level from the Sounding has been very good and you're going to need that during the playoffs. Well, it's certainly consistent quality of performance year over year from some of the Sounders veterans. Stephen Fry, as you mentioned getting those clean sheets

this season. Thirteen on the season so far, as the dinner on Turn strikes goes wider for Stepron FRI's goal going to be goalkick for the Sounders.

But let's talk about Ladero as well. Is sixth season with ten plus assists on the year, and the only seasons that he did not get those assists was twenty sixteen when it came in alongside Brian Schmetz in the middle of the season, but he still got eight assists from that point in July all the way through to that run to MLS Cup and then back in twenty twenty one, the only played nine games due to injury. As we get the extra mile stoppage time, it's gonna be seven minutes, a couple of injuries,

yellow cards, well, the referee certainly like to give us minutes. Now give the fans in the stands full value for money. The ball gets knocked out of bounds by Tim Parker taking no chances. Sounders are going to walk up to this one with the ten show and roll down. But Steve, for Brian Schmittz coming into twenty sixteen, he's just always been fortunate to have these levels of performance from players, and he finds more and more the Alex

Roldans of the world coming in playing right back. It's going to be a staple in his eleven for many years to come. Jordan Morris, of course, Christian Roldan, and then the new anchors such as Joe Polo. Yeah. Absolutely, And I think you know, if at the start of the season you'd have said, you know, you'd be playing a very important game that's you know, very pivotal, suceeding the last two, not before the playoffs, and you have Ladero and Rudiaz on the bench, I would not

have believed it. But it's by far the right decision. The team he put out today was fantastic. Would be courious to see what does happen in

the playoffs because there are some choices to be made. For branch Menser, I think he sort of settled on this eleven for today, for this exact performance, and he got way wanted from his men here and for the Sounders, it must be said last season with disappointing the first time a sound As team in the mns ERA didn't make the playoffs, but what a way to bounce back and as of now looking like the second seed for the Seattle Sounders,

but just to get back into the playoffs. Off such a disappointment is huge. Here comes new left hand side drives inside to the box, flashed it across the six yard box, knocked away by Nielsen. Sounders corner kick remains Saint Louis nil Sounders two. And as they get set for this corner kick, let's try and get some results around the Western Conference as they are going on right now, most all games are past the ninety minute marks.

Portland won Houston three. That result and other results are gonna put Portland out of the playoffs. Kansas City three, Minnesota one, LA Galaxy one, Dallas four, Colorado neil Salt Lake City one, Vancouver one, LAFC one, San Jose one, Austin one, And that's the big game to watch right now. If San Jose can retain that result, that puts them to forty four points in ninth position. Portland currently sitting outside the playoffs at forty

three points. If San Jose are unable to get that point, if they can see late, that will put them on equal points with Portland. And if my memory serves, wins after points is the first tiebreaker, and Portland sit on eleven wins, San Jose on ten wins. So right now all is going in the Sounders favor both the result that they had to take care of. As Brian Schmetza mentioned, take care of business, secure it on your own terms. As Alex rolled On needs just to stay away from it.

Just get away pushing, shoving. All the players just need to be a little bit careful. They've got some important playoff games coming up. Klaus, Alex roll darn, it's getting a bit of a scuffle. Gonn be wise just to step away to get him in the ninety fourth minute and Klaus continues to shout and scream. He seems to take a breath us his experience a lot of games coming up. Ladera just tries to delayed play as Burkeie comes across. There's going to be a Saint Louis and we'll see what happens.

It was right in front of the referee. It was Ladera put potentially a hand up into Stroud's throat and Klaus's continuing to push and press and as much as the referee has been inconsistent and he's lost a little bit of control right now, Steve, Yeah, he has in the game, just losing. It's frustration from Saint Louis here. They wanted to end this regular season with a bang, large home crowd, sort of make another statement here of

just how good of a season they've had. But the Sounders came in a spoder party, and I think, you know, it's much you do about nothing there, and I think referee needs to just get control of this game here, see it out to the finish. It's not been a nasty game by any means at all. And you know, yes, there makes a little bit of contact with Stroud, but when your own goalkeeper is getting you up pretty much tells you what you need to know. Yellow card for Nicoloderod.

The cooler heads prevailed. You don't see a referee throw at a red card un necessarily in the final minutes of the last game of the season. Well, there just needs to stay away tangled legs. And that was again Stroud and Nicolo Dero. And let's confirm a couple of results. The Portland result is a final three goals to one for Houston, and that currently does put Portland intense. Spot Kansas winning against Minnesota, that's a final LA Galaxy

against Dallas LA one Dallas four. That's a final And start to see some of these tables solidify themselves. Now San Jose, Austin, we're in the ninety fifth minute in San Jose, need that result to get them into the playoffs. They currently sit on forty four points in ninth position. Sounders have seven minutes of at a time. We're hear in the ninety sixth minute,

about ninety seconds to go for the Sounders. Can they retain and maintain this position, And of course we're watching the game up in Vancouver currently Vancouver one LAFC one, and we're hearing that's a final as well. So the Sounders can retain this two nil win, which will be Stefan Fry's fourteenth clean sheet on his year, the Sounders will retain their spot. In second the ball goes down the right hand side to Stroud, New who comes across. Is

it gonna go over the end line? It does and Stroud flicks it in cleared by the Sounders finds New who slices it clear with his right foot. Minute to go here in Saint Louis sound as eleven men behind the ball, they're currently doing their job. Vancouver are doing the job what we want them to do, getting a result and got the result against l EFC. The sound has come in transition. Rolldan plays the ball to Jordan Morris, cleared

by Nevinsky. Ball comes out to Christian roll Dan briggles three of Ustrecht inside the boxes. Christian roll Dan comes around Nielsen wins the ball, eventually cleared by Saint Louis. Let's get into the final thirty seconds here. Just started to watch some of these finals coming in Colorado losing one goal to nil, Salt Lake, Vancouver won l EFC one. Big result there up in Vancouver, San Jose one one against Austin, and there's the final result for the

Sounders. They did their job, and what a job it was coming into a difficult place in Saint Louis. Two goals in the first half, one from Rosneck and own goal from Tim Parker gets the Sounders their three points. They're vital three points. As we start to see Samaji Barji still by Klaus, he just needs to take a breath and walk off the field. The final in Vancouver LAFC one one. The Sounders are going to have that second spot and it looks like the final is there as well. At San Jose.

San Jose one Austin one, and with those results, Portland Timbers are out of the playoffs, sitting in ten spot on forty three points. So let's give you those let's give you those ranks in the Western Conference. Saint Louis already secured their first spot in the Western Conference, but they go down to mil today to Seattle, who jump into second spot. L EFC go from second to third. Houston big win against Portland three goals to one.

They go into fourth position and home field advantage going into the first round of the playoffs. Salt Lake in fifth, Vancouver sixth, Dallas in seven, Kansas City in eighth, and San Jose in ninth. So that's Kansas City San Jose in that playoff game in the midweek. We'll get a confirmation of Dayton times in the next twenty four to forty eight hours. Dallas are going to be in seventh and if my understanding is correct, that's going to be

the Sounders opponent. Sounders are going to play Dallas. We haven't got dat t ye, but it's going to be two home games Steve for the Sounders against Dallas. Great season by the Sounders has to be said, you know, for all the ups and downs, for the kind of a lack of

credit that this group has got all year. Just kept their heads down, kept doing their job, and Saint Louis congratulations did what they did with the best team in the West, but to come second place after missing last year completely with some of the adversity in terms of injuries the Sounders had to face this season, especially lack of consistency in the eleven And now you know your

opponent. Now you can rest up and prepare for three potentially three because it could be over in two, but you know, potentially three marathon games against Dallas, and that's where the home is advantage. Having two games at home in that three is huge. But it's gonna be fun. It's what we play all year for. It's for these playoffs, So Steve, when we think about this three game playoff series, Brian Schmitzer has said, hey, listen, he's open minded. He likes the one game games one and done.

But certainly the team that has the advantage is gonna be the team that has two home games that goes to the highest seed. Sounders with today's result push them to second spot. It's what they wanted to do. They wanted to make sure they control their destiny. They did, and then of course some of the results went their way. None better than Houston's three to one win against Portland that puts the Timbers out of the playoffs. Yeah, great

day for Seattle fans. Absolutely fantastic day to be a Sounders fan. And I think for the ranch Mets is right. You know, the three game series, it's not the the the the best for my initially on paper, but it does that excite me. You've got to face the team three times. I think what is interesting is they can't be any ties that it must end that night, so you're gonna you might see penalty kicks. So things like that do change the dynam make a little bit. But the Sounders and

no great season did their job. It's gonna be FC Dallas. If you've got played them twice, you want to at home rather than two away games. I think that's what makes a big difference as well. But the Sounders will feel confident now, going to send Lewis and winning like this. It does wonders for the morale, boost the confidence and the team should be feeling good. Well. Thanks Stave and thanks to Killy Donning. Kevin kay is

always for his great information. Sounders did what they have to do. They came into Saint Louis, a tough place to play the Western Conference winners, and got their result. Two nil winners on the night for the back of a Rosneck goal and a deflected cross from Reed Baker Whiting of Tim Parker to make it to nil. And the Sounders did their business, getting their thirteenth clean sheet of the season, actually the fourteenth clean sheet of the season.

That's a Stephen Fry record that beats his twenty seventeen record of thirteen. So congratulations to Stephen Fry and certainly congratulations to the Sounders who get into second spot in the Western Conference. Certainly been a regular, an eventful regular season for the Sounders, but they are back where they need to be, in the playoffs and in the hunt to fight for an MLS Cup. We'll see you

next week as playoffs begin, and we'll take a short break. Jackson, Felts and the whole crew will be back to break it all down from City Park in downtown Saint Louis. It finishes Saint Louis City nil, Saunders two,
