Well, it's been a great week so far for your Seattle Sounders. Pair of one nothing wins last Saturday and on Wednesday against Dallas and San Diego have the Rave Green sitting as a top four seed in the Western Conference right now, and they look to take third place today with a win over third place visiting Minnesota United. As we welcome you to beautiful sunny boom and Field today. What a sensational day for sports here in Soto in
the Emerald City. We welcome you also to the Sounders FC pre match show presented by Providence Swedish, the official healthcare partner of Seattle Sanders FC. Jackson Felts alongside the player Kelen Row and the Coach Pete viewing. We are here for the next half hour before Danny Jackson and Steve Zachwani have the call for Sounders and Minnesota United with Michelle Luko.
Of course on the sideline.
Gentlemen, we start the pregame show the exact same way we started on Wednesday. Let me see if I can get this word for word. Well, guys, the last game wasn't the prettiest game, but the Sounders got it done one nothing.
What were your thoughts on that game, Kelen Row? I think that might have been Yeah there, Look, I think it was a good It was a good performance because we won. It wasn't the greatest, no was It was a pretty no. But that's now two wins in a row at home and going into the third one here where they kind of needed it in the time, they kind of need it as well. They got to get used to playing with everyone again. I mean, who's gonna be the winger? Is it gonna be Page Da le Vega,
Is it gonna be you know, Ryan Kent? Is it was gonna be your number nine? And he's lose Ferrara two good games in a row. We'll talk about him again. Later and then now it's again. Once it's in Danny Massofski so Ken, the Moos go loose again. So these guys are continuously finding ways to win with different lineups and with different personnel. I think it's a positive in my foot coach.
I liked the win. You gotta find ways to win in a long season.
They did.
Why I liked it was because it was San Diego, and San Diego thumped us in the last one and they're in second place right now and they got I don't think they have a game in him and they run the same, but that's a good team and for us to come out and play like we did after they had thumped us three zero, I thought Fry was as good as I've seen him all year. We talked afterwards, Christian Roldan Stephen Fry are playing as good as soccer as they've played in their entire tenure here with Seattle.
So yeah, not as pretty.
I definitely agree with that, but I thought it was a much better team than the Dallas team. So I was really pleased that they got the win and the shutout.
Hard and not be pleased to when we talk about six points out of those two games and a chance at a nine point week today against Minnesota United. Mc collen's listing all these different players, who is in, who's not in? Before we do get to the Delta starting eleven, let's quickly go over the Providence Swedish team health reports. So on Wednesday, Kimki he picked up a calf injury.
He's out today.
That center back injury adds to another center back injury, Gamar Gomez Andrade who hurt his hamstring last weekend against Dallas, that's still keeping him out.
Meanwhile, Jackson Reagan was questionable with his own hamstring injury.
Good news on that he is in will tell you where he is in coming up in just a moment, upfront, up front, exactly starting up forward. Let's make sure Brish breaking news right there. Now, we'll get to that here in a second. Also news Jordan Morris working to get back from his hamstring injury. According to Brian Schmitzer, he hopes the forward can make the bench for next weekend's game against Vancouver. Of course, would love to have him available for the Club World Cup starting in.
A couple of weeks. Actually it is two weeks from today.
I believe the club World Cup begins here at Loominfield against Botafogo. I we'll talk about more of that in postgame, I think, But anyway, last injury, of course, Paul arioll out with the ACL so that's all the injury situation. You will also note as we go over the Sounders bench and starting lineup Haes Who's Ferrara is not available today. We should know more from Brian Schmitzer in his postgame
press conference after the game. With all of that said, pe viewing, what is Schmitzer's delta starting eleven?
Coach Schmitzer puts out his four two three one, your captain Stephen Fry and goal change at the right back spot.
Costa Rienza will be your right back.
Reagan and Bell will be in the center, knew Who on the left in the middle of the park, Vargas rolled on on the right side, Paeder dal le Vega on the left side, Rothrock and Risnek will sit under Danny Missofsky.
And Callen will get more in Minnesota in a minute. But what is what are the Loons bringing to town today?
Going for a more conservative kind of a sit back Starle of the five to four to one end goal we have Saint Clair on the left sided, let's call it a wing back. You have Markovich, you have Romero, Boxel and Harvey as your center backs, and Gressel new edition uh from Miami on that right wing back in their midfield on the left side. Lot a trap in the middle with Jean Pereira on the right and get it right, Oloa, Shay Gosh, I was so close.
I mean, yeah, Minnesota has got got some good attackers and we'll even see guys on their bench today that we have to worry about.
We'll talk about Minnesota more later.
Uh.
That sunder bench, by the way, I mentioned it, the late scratch as from Ferrero Sase de Rosario, he's in for him. We also had Georgie mill Andoo, Ryan Kent, Danny Leva, Stuart Hawkins, Rebakker Whiting, Alex trodn Ju Apollo, and Andrew Thomas so Kellen. That starting line up for Brian again, the same sort of thing we talked about for San Diego. Not too much rotation Wednesday to Sunday as opposed to Wednesday to Saturday.
What do you make of the choices? I think it's a good choice. You patre to Vega back in the lineup again. I see Kalanie on that right side, giving Alex hold On a little bit of a break. Paul Rothrock going to be that kind of that lightning bolt that we want to see on the other side of Peta Vega. You know, Jonathan Bell really did a good
job of solidifying his area there. But then you have it the welcome back of Jackson Reagan, which is what you want to see as a Sounders fan, and we want to see from Jackson because he's had a good season, well few seasons now leading up to be injury dead.
He happ That's my only question is can Reagan go all ninety minutes? I do like that they're playing with one forward. With that one forward as six goals and five assists, he's going to be a bit of a handful. Bit can you go ninety minutes as he's seasoned enough now to measure his workload throughout the game and his breaks.
When he needs to.
But can he give us ninety minutes of quality because as we've seen with Jackson, you take one mistake and it could cost a goal in the game. So it'll be interesting to see how he performs. I like Kilani coming in at right back. Alex had a bit of a I think he was cramping in the last game, and you know he put in two NINEU minute shifts over the last two.
Wins last week.
So but it gives Cosa Riani, it gives him a chance again to really do a great job. And it's the same to me these wingers, it's what I have you done lately? Rothrock on one side, Pedro on the other. They all know they got a produce. There's a lot of competition for that spot.
Yeah, Cal And that's so interesting to me is we've seen kind of that rotation Paul Rothrock in for Ryan Ken. We knew Pedro was gonna be in there, but specifically the Rothrock kent whenever.
What do you think about that specific.
Move by Brian Well, it gives chance for one Paul Rothrock, who's been so good for us, especially that last year, kind of being that glue guy leading us into those playoff runs. But you give a chance for a guy like Paul Rothrock because it's one it's at home, it's a three game week, it's a midday game on the last game, so you want to get these guys that are gonna be the workhorses that are gonna be the
ones running around. You want to get those guys on the field in these games because it brings everyone else up as well, because you're gonna have some tired legs out there. When you have a guy like Paul Rothrock running around continuously, it kind of gives guys a little bit of a boost. So I think it's a good decision from Brian Spencer.
The one thing I.
Love is that, Okay, so Paul comes off or Pedro comes off, and now they got to deal with Georgie and then they got to deal with Kent.
I mean, it's not a drop off.
It's like, Okay, it's my turn to go, and they're chomping at the bit. Rothrock was when he was on the bench. Pedro was when he was on the bench. So if I'm playing against those two guys and I think, oh good he's off, well like the next guy coming in is fired up to give you thirty minutes of grief misery.
Right.
We mentioned the returns of injury for Jackson Reagan at the center back position. I mean, even if he can't go the full nine, you have Stuart Hawkins who came off the bench against San Diego for the injured key. He did very well. Brian Schmitzer gave him one of the game balls. Certainly a big moment there for Stu to make his home debut and look good doing it against the San Diego team, but also Danny Mazowski Callen Pete, I mean, this is a guy in Danny Mozoski. You
had five goals in five games. You know, it was one under the club record for Abraham Martin's. And the question I mean is you said, count can the Moose stay loose? Can he get back and break out of his cage and restart another streak?
And I think as we see Jordan Morris still work.
Back from injury, that is the question of No, was that five games just the flash or can we continue to see a good Danny mcsowski play up at the Ford spot today?
Well, I think what coach Bryan Sptzer has is the coach's dreamiest nightmare, right he has to make He has a great time because he has all these players on the bench that are playing so well. And you got if let's say Jordan Morris is back in there and he probably will be the starter, then you have a guy who's already scored five goals this year coming off
the bench. For him, you have Ryan Kent today coming off the bench, Georgia like Manongo coming off the bench as well, and so it's a great thing to have. It's a nightmare to try and make the decisions, I imagine Brian Smester's mind. But when we have this much depth, and it is something we've talked about at the beginning of the year with the additions that we made of Era of unfortunately now the you know out for the
season in Paul Ariola. These these additions and the depth that these guys have created has been incredible because we can rotate the wingers, we can rotate the centerments, we can rotate the outside back to the to the UV star who's who's just a workhorse and can kind of get things done.
And I think he's due.
I think he's due.
I think he loved that five game run with the five goals, and it's been a little He didn't start that sixth game right against l A f C, his former team, and so I think that didn't disrupt his rhythm.
I don't think too much. He's too good a player for that.
But to your point killing Brian Schweitzer, I don't think he sees his nightmare. I think he loves it because he gets to pull the strings.
However, he doesn't until Friday night when he's got to make the decision.
Yeah, but but it keeps everybody. It could be a lot worse. You could not have a goal scorer or not have an option.
So it's it's a good problem to have, and he kind of holds the cards and I think I think actually.
He likes that, and a lot of other coaches would like it as well.
Well.
It's a beautiful day for soccer here in Seattle, just about seventy degrees, Sonny. What a perfect day here in the Emerald City is. We have lots of sports going on here down in Soto.

Now back to Seattle, Sounder Sucker on Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.
Welcome back to a sun Phil bloomin Field.
Here today in Seattle, Sounder is preparing to face Minnesota United. Underneath these beautiful skies kickoff just about twenty five minutes away here on ninety three point three KJR FM. We continue the premat show by taking a look at the visitors today, Minnesota United. They are seventy three and third place in the Western Conference with twenty seven points, just
one point above the Sounders. Both teams have twenty three goals scored in their sixteen games, but defensively, that's where the Loons have been very very good fourteen goals conceded compared to Seattle's nineteen. A good defense and goalkeeper Dane Saint Clair might be up for goalkeeper of the Year right now, obviously a Canadian national teamer, very very good. In addition to their MLS success, Minnesota is also in
the quarterfinals of the US Open Cup. They got by Saint Louis a couple of weeks ago in MLS action, coming off of a pair of draws to Austin last weekend and then in Vancouver on Wednesday. Should be noted that was against a very very rotated Vancouver team who played tonight in the CONCACAFT Champions Cup Final. But for this Minnesota team, guys and young head coach Eric Ramsey Callen, what do you see from Minnesota United.
Will you see good blocks and before you even go into Minnesota, you're realizing that Saint Claire is really going for second place in that goalkeeper of the year discussion because we've already talked about except prize winning goalkeeper of the year.
They've conspired against him.
I know. But when you talk about this back the back line, but really the back got got back back eight, back nine right that they do a really good job of blocking it up. And I will give credit to Zerk Valentine, another assistant coach there at Minnesota who has been a great player for himself. He was that hard working right left back kind of player and he's really brought in that back line and make sure it shirted up,
kind of similar to how Andy Rose. I literally see Andy Rose doing it with our back line currently when he took over, he really really diligent on the back line and making sure that there was no goals given. And then of course the best defensive team for two years straight with the Seattle Sounders. So they're gonna put put their block of five in the back. They're gonna have their hard working midfielders, the Lawds, the Traps, the Perera's,
the jeans. These guys are going to be all over the place and they're they're just not many gaps and so if the Sounders, when you think about it, I want to see Kalani kind of run past that back line to kind of give someone else a little bit of space. Page de Vega, can you drop in and find the space that someone just left? Can Missofsky make sure that at least one or two of those center backs are staying diligent on their back line and not being able to step up because they are a threat in behind.
Yeah, this is a team that's only given up twelve goals all season long, and excuse me fourteen. Vancouver's the only one better at twelve. So they are going to park the bus. They've done it all year. Here's the thing. You've got to change the point of attack and catch them. Can you get them running back toward their own goal as opposed to getting all set up right?
So can you get it wide? I like Helen's point.
Can Kalani get around that defense and then get to the end line and cut balls back? So the wide service, I think we talked about it last week. We're at seventeen now. I think we're nineteen on assists from wide. I think that's gonna be where we're going to get our success. So having said that, this team, I don't like this stat. I don't like it at all. Record is fourteen one and two. The record for Minnesota at Liuman is ten losses and that's it.
Then, No, I don't I'm sure Brenchwison didn't want to talk about that at all.
But can that continue? And oh they've had some bad luck against Seattle Sounders. So I don't like that stat because those stats go away eventually, right, and I just.
Don't want it to be today.
No, for sure, Well, this is a Minnesota team also offensively, you know, Brian talked to how great that defense is. They're kind of back five that, as Callen mentioned, turns into an eight when they can get really deep in there from Boxall and the Romero as well.
He talked highly of them.
They're led by the guy who's at four today, Ola, who has a team leading six goals plus five assists.
On the bench.
They have a couple of really good attackers as well.
Calvin Yeboa, new decimated player from Gona last summer.
He has four.
Goals this is a good offensive team in addition to a very good defensive team, and they're all led by head coach Eric Ramsey.
Eric Ramsey Kellen.
Is our age.
He's thirty three years old, absolutely crazy, and he worked his way up through Manchester United system and here he is at thirty three years old taking the Minnesota job last year. He got them the fifth place in his first season last season, in his first year with MLS and clearly what he's doing as a young guy huge, you know, active coming from Manchester United, he's doing the right stuff here.
I mean to be a favor of just say it that we're young one more time. It makes me feel thirty three years when you're playing and I hit thirty, he was like your past your time and this guy is like a young coach. Maybe I should have gone into coaching. That would have made myself feel a lot better.
It's the next step for you.
But yeah, no, it's not. No, it's this guy's This guy's work way too hard. I think it's I think it's a positive, right, He's obviously has some experience. We'd say that he's a young coach, and he is in the sense of coaches. I think they are starting to trend towards that younger generation. But he had to start somewhere, right, Every coach had to start somewhere, and so I'm glad that he's here. The Minnesota they do look good. Yeah,
they they're playing very well. They're very structured, and they found the right fit for their players. So I think Ramsey was that was that reason.
Well, and they've got some guys that are really experiencing this league lauge trap, Harvey Bressel, Saint Clair has been great. He was great when he came out of Maryland as well. Here's the deal when you got a young guy like that. We kind of saw it with Alameda at San Jose. No, he wasn't that young, but the players really wanted to buy into his system, right, which.
Was the man marking which he wrote it over time.
Oops.
Yeah, But when you got a young.
Guy who's thirty three, he's firing them up and I'm sure he's saying, this is the day we're going to break this oh and ten. Yeah at Seattle, so yeah, they bought into what he's doing. And you know he's he's never he wasn't playing wise, he didn't have much of a career, but he has earned his stripes as a coach and and so he's.
Got him very organized. To Kellen's point, they look good.
Well's the question that I always got to get brought up is to do to player or coach? Has always become from players. It doesn't always have to be that way, but you have to.
Have to be some studious piece of the game.
You have to understand the player aspect, that the mindset, the ability to actually be playable and coachable. How do you feel about, you know, coaches being you know, very good players are not very good players, doesn't make a difference.
Well, I'll tell you what Kilee, our producer, has said that often that you look at Phil Jackson, you'll look at uh.
There's a couple on the George Carl who was here right.
A lot of guys, they're not all Steve Kirk right right, And some of them had to work their way up right as to learn the game, or they were average players and had they'd get the most out of them. So this one right here, I think he is a he's Eric Ramsey is a student of the game, and he's a motivate and he's got him organized and he has their respect, but they wouldn't be playing five at the back.
He using NBA references there just makes me angry about Oklahoma City being in the NBA Finals.
We will continue on.
Here back to soccer at Limenfield where the Sounders underneath beautiful sunny skies are facing Minnesota nighted. We'll take a break, We'll come back with our players to watch. Also here from head coach Brian Spetzer, as we're just about fifteen minutes away from kickoff right here on Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr.

Welcome back to Luminfield Sounders Minnesota United playing in just a few minutes here kicking off. We'll have the call for you coming up in just a few minutes with Nanny Jackson and Steve Zachelwani really quick here on the Prematt show Jackson feltz kelenro p Ewing. We mentioned a couple of segments ago that it is going to be Danny Muzoski starting forward. Osase de Rosario is on the bench.
We told you there is no Hazus Ferira. We can now share the reason why Hasu's Ferira's partner is in labor. Hasu's Ferira is preparing to be a first time dad. So a major congratulations to Hesus Ferira, not available for the game today as partner is in labor.

Back here Sounders as they prepared yesterday or two.
Days ago out at Long Acres.
In the training facility, the Club World Cup Trophy made an appearance. And actually we were looking at it making an appearance here at Lumenfield right now, but it also made appearance in the training facility.
It was sitting right next to.
Brian Schenzer as he talked about the CORB World Cup.
Trophy being there.
The big two games here before the Club World Cup starts against Minnesota.
Today and Vancouver next week.
And thoughts on Minnesota HER's Brian Spencer.
Min It's a really spectacular trophy. And if this doesn't get you excited to watch, you know, not just the Sounders play against you know, Motafogo, Athletic Go and PSG, but the other the other games, I mean, River Plate, big Team, enter your Reds, Monterey. The whole city is going to be fired up to watch a lot of good soccer. So that gets me excited. Obviously, we have two more games to play in league. We totally understand
we have an opportunity. We have a really good opportunity because we had our last game at home against Minnesota point ahead of us, and then you know, obviously Vancouver's playing for something pretty big themselves, and then they're gonna have to play through an international window where I know they're gonna be missing players. I've seen some of the
lists already. So we've got a chance, an opportunity where if because we've got to still do the business, If we can do the business, that would put us in a really good run of form to start focusing on, you know, maybe winning one of these games. So work to be done. But you know, again, the guys are ready. I thought they all got a kick out of seeing the trophy here at training. Kind of lifted them a little bit in training. So it's it's exciting times here.
Brian thoughts on Minnesota of how Eric has his team playing. What their strengths are that'll give you some problems.
Well, their strengths that are hard to beat back line of five. He's learned. Young coach came in the league last year. He's learned, he's figured out his team, he's figured out what his particular group needs to be successful. So credit to him. He's done a great job. And it's a hard team to beat. Three center backs. I like the two young guys on on either side. They're good young center backs and you know, dynamic team up front. They can run good stuff there.
From head coach Brian Schmenzter back here at lumin Field, we can share that we had a special guest here at Limitfield today Chris Henderson, a former sporting director of course, a long time Sounder, great soccer player from the Northwest.
Here he just went into the.
Washington Sports Hall of Fame, was just inducted and just given a plaque here at Lewminfield.
Very very cool.
Congratulations to our good CLA guys. You know, we just know what to get we know how to get it done. Heally continuous Hall of Famers, continuous Hall of Famers out of that UCLA guys.
Huh, fair enough, Hey, sorry, we gotta go to a big break view.

Now back to settle Sounderssucker on Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FL.
Just a few minutes away from kickoff Here at Bloominfield, the sun is shining for Sounders versus Minnesota United. Mentioned that last break Chris Henderson goes into the Washington Sports Hall of Fame, he wasn't alone.
No Laurie Henry from the ninety one World Cup champs, also a Washingtonian, went as well. Short Crest Shorewood High school boy that Shannon Higgins was in that group. That was a phenomenal group of shell Lakers. But yeah, Lori Henry went in with Chris Anderson, two icons of.
Youth sports in the state.
Well, here at Bloomingfield Sounders Minnesota. Pete's giving you the record and again Sounders own a twelve one and two record in the regular season against Minnesota. That expands to fourteen one and two across all competitions. And here at home ten oh and oh, knock on every piece of wood you can find around you. The Sounders keep that streak going. Today against Minnesota United, we turned to our not only keys to the match, but also players to
watch today. Let's rope them together. Callen, who's your player to watch and what are your keys to this game? A player to watch is going to be Klannie. It's it's kind of a similar reason for my keys to the match.
They need to find space in this good, well organized Minnesota defense, and so Ken Kalini make those runs a.
Little bit farther, a little bit harder, kind of distract a little bit on that outside, and then it's it's Albert Russknack. It's then you know, Christian rodonn or Ovid Vargas and even Danny Massowski, but finding a way in to find the gaps to break down this good block of five, if not eight for.
Me, it's Christian rold On.
Now, I had a great game against Dallas that they were in the diamond and he hanged about six or seven balls.
Can he do that again today.
And unlock the defense so that the Wingers can get in a position to play balls in behind, forcing Minnesota to be going back toward their own goal. Those quick early change point of attag balls from Christian.
I'm gonna go with guys from I Player to watch with Paul.
Rothrock and kind of to continue the conversation before we get to the national anthem of the wingers situation, the competition there. Georgie's on the bench today, we have Ryan Kent on the bench today, and you know we've even seeing this rotation throughout this week and throughout the previous roach of three games in eight days of Brian just trying to find that competition and get the most out of it Callen Pete. The opportunity for Paul Rothrock to
make a statement. That's what I'm watching for, where you can say, listen, Ryan Kent, he's maybe taking a little bit of a step back over these last couple weeks.
Let's see if I can make a statement.
It's sort of I think Brian was telling us in on one of the production calls a couple weeks ago when you started, Ryan Kent, I think it was.
Paul was saying, Okay, I'm gonna show you. I'm just gonna be great off the bench, and he has been. And you know, another chance for for Paul Rothrock team to make a statement again today that.
He deserves to have a starting spot on this team. We talk about Brian Stetzer's he's willingness to give opportunity guys that show up well, right, if you train hard, if you play well, you'd rather be ten minutes ninety minutes, it doesn't matter. Brian Stetzer will reward you with some time. And I think he does that here today with Paul Rothrock.
Okay, what a great crowd we're watching this team come out right now?
Only mackerel this the Sounders need to come out.
Guns are blazing because the longer the game goes, the more they're gonna park that bus that's there with those.
Five in the back. So this crowd can help the team quite a bit.

Good afternoon, Sounders fans from EQC pitch here at lumen Field where your Sounders faced Western Conference rival Minnesota United in MLS's Sunday Night Soccer. Minnesota comes South and I five. After bruising nil nil draw up in Vancouver on Wednesday evening, they approved a resilient team mixed with flashes of offensive firepower, just as head coach Eric Ramsey wants them to play
in a season full of promise and potential. Minnesota come at full strength today, ready to earn their first ever win in Seattle for your sound as they work through a tough midweek matchup of their own versus San Diego, earning three points in a one zero win and celebrating a first regular season MLS goal for Jesus Ferrera for
his new club. They will seek to extend their on beaten streak in this three game homestint at Lumenfield with another win, which would jump them above Minnesota and possibly into second position. In the Western Conference. I'm Danny Jackson alongside our all star cast this afternoon former Sounders winger Steve sack Panni here in the booth and Michelle Ludker
down on the sidelines. As the teams get set to go here on a perfect afternoon, Let's get you the Delta starting eleven for your sound As a couple of changes for Brian Schmetzer, Stefan, Fryan Gol, Kilaney Cosarienzi on the right, Jackson Reagan back in in his starting spot coming back from injury. He plays alongside Jonathan Bell Knew who on the left, o Bed Christian in the middle of Pedro de la Vega on the right, Albert Roznak in the ten, Paul Rothrock on the left, and then
Danny Massovski back into the starting lineup. Plays up front fo Minnesota dancing player in the goal, back three of Harvey Boxel Romero amid field, four of Gressol trap Sean and Markovich, Preyer, lud and Allo. I say up front as the game gets going, Sounders in their anniversary kit, green shirts, blue shorts, white socks. They're attacking the goal to our left their north end, and then Minnesota in
their dark outfit tonight or this afternoon. They're attacking the south end the goal to our right as Pega Delavega picks it up.
He's going to try and dribble through, picked.
Up by Romero down their left hand side, tries to flick it in and there's Pedro de la Vega referees flight dress is a referees flag. La farst side goes up, so steve Sounders getting two wins out of two so far in this three game home, So how do they get three points today?
Yeah? I think to the uf PC point, Minnesota's maybe sit back a bit more, make it hard to break them down. That's at least the game we think we're gonna see. But if what the Sounder is, can you stop fast when this team could start fast and you know, an early goal he.
Gets the team you wants to sit back really does open things up.
So play on the front foot. Mix up between the build up and being a bit more direct. I think you've got a personnel out there and what better incentives and three game homes that would win.
Here comes the Sounders. Can hear the crowd roar down the left hand so it goes rap up left corner of the box, drops his left shoulder, comes on his right clip stows the backstick brought down by russneck Fell given on Romero on the back post, and as they get set, Minnesota for a free kick inside their six yard box for the first time this afternoon, we'll throw it down to Michelle. Good afternoon, Michelle, good.
Afternoon, you guys.
A big storyline coming into today is that FIFA Club World Cup is upon us, with the trophy arriving in Seattle earlier this week, and the team is hosting the tournament.
They hosted the press conference for the tournament excuse me this Friday, and the head coach, Branch masterresss his team is humble and while they're excited to play in this tournament and we're impressed by the big, beautiful trophy, they're focused on winning today against Minnesota and then of course picking up three points on the road next week against Vancouver. We'd start before they start focusing on it.
Thanks Michelle's The ball goes long, cleaned up by Jackson. Reagan is his first involvement. Just pushed the head back to Seph and Fry and mc goals. He creeps up the MLS all time appearance list for a.
Single club, singing four hundred and four.
Coming into this afternoons games. Yes, of course Harris and Jerman the opponent for the third group game here at lumen Field in just a couple of weeks time. They of course pounded on into Milan in the Champions League final yesterday in Munich, winning five Milk and Steve, is that gonna make the sound as excited or extremely nervous?
I asked that same question the branch and as it before the game, and I think you have to be excited, right. I mean we've played this calib off team before, but never in a super meaningful game. This is a nest of international preseason exhibition tour, and so I think if you're the sound is how often has a player can
you say I get to match up? Because players who've just recently are the current holders of the Champions League, Well, we'll see the very best eleven maybe not, but I'll tell you what a PSG's second team would do very well in MLS regardlessly.
You saw the players coming off the bench. Goal by the fifth goal was by bench.
Player, and of course this is the firepower.
I think the step that got me. They had signed not at least nine players of over fifty million new dollars in the last couple of years. And yes they've got rid of Mbappe and messy Daymark, but they've retold under Lewis and Rique and have gone young, very different to what they had done in years past. The previous structure steed hadn't worked for them, where the dressmove really commanded control. Now Lewis and Rik said hey, I'm going
to control it from the top down. He's built a young team and they could be here to last for many years.
They will be. And I think one thing about Lewis and Rik, people forget the break job you're did that Barcelona. He had a fantastic group that won the Champions League there as well. So again that caliblef coach bringing his team to Lumenfield in a meaningful game, and I walk back up what Michelle said is a big, beautiful trophy. I got up Cross the personal with it yesterday. I piped placed market for an a periods of fans and he's stunning up Cross A chance to play for that.
He doesn't get much bigger than that in your career.
They come of sound As went in the middle of the park with Vargas trying to whip it towards Russ now deflecting. Now Massos is gonna pick it up towards the end, nine a Go just drops his shoulder, tries to go past Boxe get offended by the big New
Zealander got a golds a couple of weeks ago. Team of the Match day as Masoski gets tangled up with Boxo or pat on the backside by box on On Musoski as he runs back, Sounders clean things up, punching tech of a hollow a shay on Jackson reag I'm sure he didn't appreciate that, just stepping back on the field, of course after missing the last month or so of games.
And it was Kinky Huho stepped in for Jackson.
I think it was FC down tell us when Jackson out to hobble off. Of course, Kimki he went off in the last game injured. So Sounders just getting one back and now I've lost too. In the last space of the last seven days, Gamar and Kimky on the sideline.
But here come the Sounder where Jackson O Reagan rips it in deflected up in the air, challenging the top of the box with Pedro de la Vega and Vargas and la Vega snapshot deflects play diventure by Markinish up in the night in the sky Knew covering his eyes, the sun baking about three quarters of the field here thankfully for us in this west end we're bathing shadows the east end hands over the ice time sun beating down,
perfect day for a game of football. Has rolled on six assists on his year, leading the team in assists. Anchored that number six roll in front of the back four of course, alongside Obed living giving o Bed the license to move forward or productively. Here is Obed now drops his shoulder. See what happens to Obed in the summer and moving forward. Many clubs, I'm sure taking a good look at him, of course, Club World Cup a great platform to see for him to showcase his skills.
Yeah, and he's a player who I think we all can see just how high his ceiling is, how high it talent is. You forget sometimes just how young he is because he doesn't look out of place ever in the midfield. I thought a mid week maybe the first time in a long time where he missed some past that usually doesn't miss, so we'll kind.
Of be curiousy how he bounced back today.
But alongside Christian Rodan, I mean, they've defended the tandem that I'm called in and this woman the best at MLS. I wouldn't take anybody above that duel right now. They've played for each other so well and for all bed Honestly, the sky's the limit.
Sound has pitted the ball to the halfway line. They're gonna dominate possession today, no doubt about that. Minnesota can already see their shift of formation to a five four to one.
It's exactly what they did in Vancouver, and.
Very much like LAFC in years past, less so this year under Charondlers allowed his team to open up a little bit. Of course, they got an incredible two to one win against Club America for a playing game as leone were disqualified due to multiple ownerships, and it is.
LAFC who won. They got there equal wising goal in the eighteen.
Ninth minute and then went to extra time and then of course that man Bewonga steps up on the one hundred and fifteenth smashed the board in the back of the net they go through have a chance to play Chelsea others on the East coast.
Yeah, so the third emns time. Of course Miami also will be representing in that tournament, and I think the pass around the city honestly for this FIFA Club Dot Cup, he's building really big. And of course all of this is in preparation for next summer, the biggest tournament in the world, biggest sporting event in the world coming to lumin If you're here to Seattle, we'll have a few games with that. So a very exciting time to be a fan of soccer in a beautiful city of the album.
Yep.
Hopefully Sounders and the weather will prove itself to be exactly what we all hope for. Is showcase what makes Sel such a special place to live and play this game. It comes off for getting another chance to start here. It's been never present really across the course of this season so far.
In MLS play.
He was part of the rotation that stayed in the MLS starting eleven when conkor Caff was playing points the Pegrod la Vega.
Was on the Concorcaff side and of course had some success.
Now the Sounder is having a chance to start to establish themselves their best starting eleven. A couple of players of course missing Jordan Morris getting closer, expected to maybe showcase himself against Vancouver next week. Or gets launched long, picked up by Lord from the head of bell, rolls it out to this right hand side, whipped in by wrestle off the crossbar, Ol climbs high. What what gets nudged into But see that's what they can do. They could transition quickly.
They approved it all year. One cross one header almost catches the Sounders out.
That is the danger. We've seen it here many times when you planarly gets a team that is going to sit back and allow you to be on top of them and attack them and attack them all. It takes one. I'm going to saw United attacking on his right hand side. He's across into the box, a good head up and Stephen Fryer was rooted to the brown. He was beaten. The bullcanons off the crossbar and the Sounder's coming within the width of the crossbar from going down the goal here.
So yes, Minnesota will come into defend. But every team now in MLS is so good in the counter attack and transition, minnesot have been among the very best of them, and that's the first warning sign of the of the afternoon.
Yep, Followay Shay six goals, five assists on his campaign, really stepping in for Yobo, who struggled in the last month or so, sits on the bench today. Of course, he got his first goals from Minnesota in the game last year against Seattle, scored both goals and three to two Sounders win.
Sounders had to dig deep in that game, come back from being behind and it.
Comes to la Vega right corner of the box, got chance to whip it in. He does picked up by Romero left.
Sorry did center back.
Minnesota play that three back system, but as they showcased against Vancouver, they like.
To drop deep absorbed pressure.
And Steve Zaccorney just mentioned seventy two percent possession for the Sounders already.
In this game.
The Minnesota are by far the lowest team in MLS in terms of possession coming into today's game. Just to tick over thirty eight percent possession, So there's just nothing foreign to them. They'll take this all day long.
The sound has gotta be careful just.
On the counter attack to shift on defending by de la Vega on the far side, and Steve de la Vega of course had a good preseason, but he showcased himself not just the ability going forward, but his willingness to work on the other side of the ball as well.
I was having a chat with assistant coach Precky about Delavega on that very subject before the game, and it is his work great and it's both sides. Is off off the board. When he loses the board, he tracks back. He's very honest. He adds a lot more to the team than just on the board. But I think also as a season has gone on Wellstance's quality on the board and he has a tendency to come inside quite
a lot when he does that. It's so important that Klonia, when it's Antal done at the right back, then occupies the width. You kind of both of them on the right hand side occupy the same space. They do want the la Vega to play out wide a bit more. He does excellent work there when he's out wide. As he finds the ball here right now.
Out wide far side the right, the sounder attacking the goal to our left, sit inside. It's gonna be bargas good defending by Jan. The young player gets his first start today in the middle of the park. Does young Jen French player spent time that ami In deflected over the end line Sounders corner kick. We'll see what Andy Rose has up his sleeve. Twelveth minute here e QC pitch lumen Field Sports Radio ninety three point three KGr FM Sounders nil, Minnesota nil, and the Sounders have a
chance from this dead ball. It's gonna be a Rosneck stellar season so far for Rosneck. Seven goals, three assists on his campaign outswinging on his right foot, and it comes towards Bell headed clear by the big frame of voxel. Passes two hundred and fifty appearances for Minnesota, the most appearances by any Minnesota player in club history. It's been a mainstay for the club anchors that back line right
in the middle. Harvey drops in today from his typical central midfield spot to play in that back line as Jen comes in to fill the gap, More goes out. There's Gressol recent pickup of course, put on waivers coming from Miami, picked up by Minnesota put shortly thereafter. He gets to start today on that right as Rothrop picks up on his hands.
Left and side. There's near sight now the foot of Eric Ramsey, head coach.
Young head coach, of course, had time at Manchester United before coming to date the rains at Minnesota.
He's patrolling his technical area.
See the it's a standing right on the dotted line. And if you watch the Champions League final yesterday, is Zagi and Rik did not look at that wideline at all. I felt like everyone was gonna kick the ball when he went down the line.
It's more of a guide than a suggestion.
A light suggestion based on those guys.
It was fascinating seeing just the when you look at branch Rent, how control controlled and composed.
He is sitting there, legs crossed now down below.
Us and you're looking like it's zagging and RecA.
I mean they're playing, they're flaying every all and yet.
Yeah, it's quite amazing. Of course we'll get to see both those head coaches into Milan play games here at lumen Field as well, so it's not just Paris and er Man coming here play against the Sounders. A big game is gonna be River Plate into That's gonna be one Hello matchup. The biggest most storied clubs in Argentina of course, playing one of the most storied.
And successful clubs in Italy.
Sounds having far Side the right thrown in by Klany who were called upon, has played so well this season, even in that before they're lost down in La he was really the stand up player for the Sounders.
Yeah, I don't think he's got a from rants coming in and I think the Sounders have needed that. You know, you want to be a top team in this league on anywhere now, you need competitional places. And he's really has pushed Alex frod Dan to the point where when Alex he's a little rest and rotationack today, you put Colani and you're not thinking twice. The level doesn't drop.
And that's the sound of a very very good team, which the Sounders have been through sixteen games on this other season haven't really put their strongest team out week to week due to injuries and other factors, but always seem to find a way to get results. And players that Khalani have been a big factor of the reason why De.
La Vega goes in. Far Side just does this as.
You mentioned, this defensive duties just takes down market is on the farst side. Minnesota free kick deep on their left hand side. Fifteenth minute here lawn Field Sounders Neil Minnesota Neil As was quoted by Julian Alvarez, former Man City, current Athletic CO Madrid player, an eighty ninety million dollar bar just a year or so ago. He mentions, actually quoted his excitement to play here in front of the
Sounders fans, knowing how well they're supported. And Pedro della Vagri he mentioned him by name as a friend from Argentina back in the year of days. One of those players will face each other. Sure, that's a game that's circled on the calendar for Drevi Hickmes Gressel inside the eighteen yard box of the Sounds, push wide by New and over the end line. It goes brilliant defending by New who just nudges Gressel off.
The ball goes over the end line. Goal cap remains Neil Nols exactly one.
And for all that.
Kids of knew who of course the fiatric centertainment, it can never get lost just how good of a one v one defender he is and still is and probably start the best in MLS in terms of Bressels are very good player. We've seen him be successful at multiple MLS clubs there, but I knew who takes on the challenge week after week and very rarely has he ever losed a battle on his sound as left hand side here and in recent weeks beginning to get involved a
bit more in the attack as well. But he's better him, but it will always be he's one v one defending does it so well? It's on full display there because you do expect Wrestle to be aggressive and get forward when he can well.
Of course, Brian is sure in a position where it gets a chance to somewhat choose. Does he give up some of the defensive prowess of a a new who and add a more dynamic left heided player. It's probably done slept questions a couple of times over the years, but I think having anchored that left hand side, it does allow the left sided player we played in that left wing sport. You talk about Zach Scott a lot. It's the type of profile.
It's the same I knew every time Zach Scott was behind me, we could be playing against the Galaxy and it could be landing Dona from David Beckham. He's a defender first, and if he needs my help he asks for it, But in general he wants that challenge. He just frees me up as the attacking wingler to focus on doing my job other side.
Of the pitch. And I think, now, who does give you that confidence as well?
Paul goes Alos pushed my Harvey on rothrocks being thrown from Minnesota and as they get set to throw it in, we'll throw it down to Michelle.
Thanks guys.
On that note, we have someone missing from the bench today. Hazius Ferra was a late scratch and is not in attendance of today's game as his partner has gone into labor. Him and his partner are awaiting the birth of their first child. So all good energy and good health to the hopefully mutually become parents and their child to day.
Yeah, thanks Michelle, What a week for hey.
Zeus gets his first goal for the Sound as a regular season play game winner against San Diego a couple of days later, impending birth of his child.
Yeah.
Once she's just scored your first goal, the last thing you want to do is miss a game. But it would probably that's a pretty good reason why I think it would have taken nothing less than that to get hazies Ferra off the pitch for the next game, but again he's missing today. The sound is don't skip a beat. You bringing on with Sooski, who also had been an excellent form as well, and then you have Jordan Morris,
as you mentioned, waiting in the wings. So it's a team that although has not been able to field their best at eleven consistently, everyone who's had to step up in some way has played their role. What's been a pretty good start of the season.
Free kick for Gressow and Minnesota just inside their half of the field, right in front of Brian Schwetz, and it comes low, poor delivery by Gressols. The big men have moved up for their best chance to oftentious score outside of a counter attack is some kind of set piece. They've scored the most goals from throwings this year as World trap and moles Vetchan just takes it off his head a couple of times, shifts his position away from
Pedro de la Vega maintains possession well. Sound As f C Soccer is presented by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FCS, which are played by Minnesota farst side. The left clipped in towards ALOA shad ball bounces in all well played News's gonna head it back and the crowd groaned too heard.
It backed away. There was pressure going on for Sephro and.
Fry and he goes down like Wrestle didn't touch it. You knew that who was gonna go And of course Grestle gets yellow card as well. Well.
Again, I don't think there is contact to know who here, but he knows it's coming, he anticipates it. Probably could have kept going. But in that situation, once greswork commanded, you sort of expect the contact to come. Maybe Gressle Pools went the last morment. I think it's quite harsh. Heare recrd Tuan there was no contact, but the Sounders won't be complaining.
Well, Minnesota backs against the war time.
Since their introduction to MLS in twenty seventeen, they have not won here in Seattle, even got a point eight wins out of eight for the sound is a.
Regular season play.
Of course, that memorable Western Conference Final, when it looked like the wolkcouns Minnesota We're going to go through, Sounders pulled it out.
And then League's Cup last year of course as well.
So ten wins out of ten games in all competitions here, so to of course, we'd love to try and break that duck here this afternoon, Sounders have a chance to skip by Minnesota with a win today. Minnesota sit one place above Sounders played back Rare, their main man him in last year, has had a really good season so far as the attacking midfield player, two goal, seven assists on his campaign so far. His fucking pick Sounders come again, this time switching play by rolled On, who's done that
so well this year? As you was, Vargas shifted it to Rothro to rolled On now to Rosnak picked up by that man. Vargas driving forward, breaks a line, runs into the big body of Harvey form of Phoenix rising player.
He steps out of his back line.
It's been a disciplined performance so far by Minnesota, still sitting at just about thirty six percent possession, but as you mentioned, no fear there.
They've got some firepower up front.
Lud Person of the MLS Apple Guys is the most underrated number ten in the league. It's been a consistent player for Minnesota over the years, alongside Prayer and try to unlock the back. Four of the Sounders encountered out. But here come the Sounders with Kalan. He pressed up the field right corner of the box, comes inside to rolled on square to Vargas who kicks the ball moving to gross like Coo. Just clips it into us, not Saski and just wide. It's gonna be a goal kick.
Twenty second minute nil nil.
We're good play by the sounds, nice and patient chance for Masaski.
Why gold kick?
Yeah, and that's as close as the riff we have come so fin this afternoon. It's good football. We're moving from left to right when it found for us in that speed, why lack days In the final third he's facing Godwards, clips a lovely little delicate cross into the box and Masaska that's really well because he has to generate his own power here. That's not an easy board to make contact with. He gets very good contact from him.
Just couldn't quite get the direction forwards. But a lot more encouraging there from the Sounders.
All played out quickly so the Sounders could get caught as they put some press on the field as they try to find all of our shape in behind step over by new couple of stepover. He's gonna have to hold it towards the end line here because all the way shake comes back.
To help you with us out of.
Pressure stops and it feels like when players just stop steve the way for the referees whistle. It doesn't come with a little bit of trouble, but.
It's a risk it takes. But again another great example of Lou in a one v one situation coming out on top the Sounds world caught quite easy there. One goal kicks or by and pass Sam's midfield. I'm when I saw United after the Races playing the game they want to play in transition, catching the sound is out Knew who proven to be too strong on that occasion. But the game now beginning to just open up a little bit after sort of up cage is start by both off teeth.
A little frustration from the luod.
Maybe a lot of cynical will swipe out on roth Rock who earns the free kick. This might be the chance now to unlock this resilient back line that Minnesota so far have held out the Sounders' advances. It's gonna be a free kick left of center. Thirty yards or.
So, so thirty five yards from the end line on the foot of Russneck.
Rothrock to his left, just holding the position left corner of the box, fakes the free kick.
Now they back off.
Now he clips it in towards the back stick, headed clear by Shin and then varn That picks it up. Now it's gonna be Rusnak drops his shoulder, plays it into Delamaic on top of the box. Quicker picked up by Jean and he comes now with will trapped as a wriggle free picked up by the sounders. Now they come again when they unbalanced this back five of Minnesotas wrestler comes back. Of course, the experienced player uses that experience, gets a notice by Rothrock, goes down. It's gonna be
a free kick for Minnesota. Just what they would want to absorb some of that pressure. Take a rest towards Gresselo's You mentioned Miami, Atlanta, United DC to name just a few, Vancouver, of course, just a handful of years ago.
It's interesting. Let me ask this question, Gresole.
He seems to be effective wherever he goes, but he's a player that just has moved around so much. What prison prevented him from really sticking it.
Yeah, I remember him in Columbus on that title. When his squad he was a key piece of what he did next season. He moved on mostly when Atlanta. As you mentioned, I think he's a player who is a victim of maybe just how good he is, but not without ever being the man. So he's a guy that you don't necessarily build around. He's a great extra added piece you can add to a team that wants to contend. Has been a sort of united dude, and I feel like that Miami. He just was an odd man out
there the way they playoffs. The everything's good towards Messi and Suarez and Busquez and saw of playing to those guys.
Feet Gress was a player who thrives in space, thries in.
A team that maybe that's the Gag transition a bit more so, it seems to be a good fit here in minute sort of, but certainly, as you said, everywhere he's gone, he's proven to be a very valuable member of the squad.
Moore comes in top of the box, good play out of pressure by Bell, he just clears his line, gets nicked, nothing given by the referee, Prayer comes now thirty yards for gold dead center, rolls it out, says ryanside to look back to Prayer twenty five yards out trust riggle pass rolled down, picks.
Up well by new right corner.
The boxes gress and whipsity easily collected by Seth and cry as de la Vega rolls out right plays it to rolled on eventually does fine.
De la Vega.
Now the sound has come in some transition. Ball down the line far side the right to Mussovsky, cleared and then picked up by Kalani back to Mussovski holding that right side to de la Vega. Sounders now foot on the ball and just control some tempo. As the ball get shifted from far side to this near side the left with new little fake drags it back, looks for an option back to Vargas.
Eleven men deep four Minnesota.
They hold a nice.
Compact line of five to four. Warn defensively, it sounds they have to be patient to see if I want to mention his keys to the game.
Be patient.
You have to score straight away. The last couple of games see one nil, one nil.
It's proof of that.
It's complay, and I think you know, especially in this type of game. But we come into the game, we all know exactly how these games on the gorment.
It's so it's gonna sit back and absorb pressure up.
And it's these types of games I can make a coach nervous because the longest there's no nil, just that risk. They can get quite on the other end, start to trickling and maybe you stop being a bit of pavement, start forcing an issue a bit more. You have to use your experience and recent experience in this case to not do that. Stay patient about now he's watched every bit that's born in nineteen for minute, I can win you a game.
Yep, minniso to hold the top of their eighteen yard box all the way shay.
The first fort is ten yards in front, take compact line, the ball, get shift to the back post, headed clear by gressor takes no chances, heads it over the endline corner kicked to the Sounders. So the chances may come from wide positions, good delivery chance from this suing set piece. Now for the Sounders trying to unbreak this stubborn back line.
Nil nil.
Twenty seventh minute Sounders, Minnesota, Downtown Seattle, lubin Field while I'm up in the air by a raysnack on this near sight in swinger's right foot in it goes headed clear by Harvey, gonna trick all the way to the far side.
It's sound Us throat.
Klany picks it up, just bounced the ball a couple of times. Delavay comes across. He was the one that challenged right in the middle of the six yard box. He was a good delivery by Rosneck certainly had been one of his weapons. This year's delivery from set pieces sound Us may not have executed enough times from corner kicks, but.
There's similar had chances.
It comes bell the middle of the park, thirty yards from goal is New rolls down to its near side. Is Roco gets clipped Wressel.
It's gonna be careful.
Yeah, a couple of times. That's in a yellow card already. So Steve, this is a situation. You've been a left winger. You're asking for the ball now.
Just every time, every time, And I think again, grass Rops game isn't white, you know, Georgie or Ryan Kembus, Steve zac Quani, Yeah, boy, when you're on a yellow car like that, I mean, at that point as you can take every risk you want as a play up just puts a defense in a very top position. Someone at dressing wants to be aggressive once you win the borders we saw there, and I think when the sound is for Schmit's up, if it does state like this
more you can bring on a Ryan Ken. I mean, that's gonna be something that gress with us not want to see.
Little fake by Rosnick left channel wins it in towards the near post, headed clear by Lord.
Top of the box is Kilan.
He drops it to far I guess twenty five yards out, doesn't shoot, goes back left to Rosnick, drops her shoulder a little back heel towards rolled on overlapping run comes Vargas, Now fakes him off and gets to Rosnack back to now Vargas. All triangles as sounds are playing as a roth Rock, He's able to turn out a pressure away from Jen.
Top of the box is Klan. He keeps it going fartside. The right is Jackson.
Reagan tries to cut it across the six yard box, deflected over the end line corner kicks sounders nil nil.
It was well worked, very very patient abut Russ Mattressy rolled down rough from all getting involved there and in the end great player back Kloni just to be patient top of the box for space out wide and it was a center back Jackson Reagan found him off his sady eighteen yard box on the right hand side, tried to get across in it was well defended, but the sounds again self ro corner the beginning to knock on a store more and more.
Good game for the for Jackson Reagan to come in and step back into the starting lineup quite at the back. It's all been sounded so far, but they haven't nice to find that opening goal. Here is the ball with Vargas back to Kerlany right hand side in the sun is Rouznek now just drops the ball towards rolled on towards the end nine he goes, whips it into the back stick to Reagan back to roth Rock strikes it just wide, just sliced it slightly over the top. Good build up by the sounders go okay.
And almost every set piece offa has a wrinkle to it. Sometimes it's brush Knight delivering it into the box. Some the time he's vaking, sometimes going short. On this occasion it did go short. He found Reagan on the back post. That was a great job heading it down. It was tough tech need for rough Rock to get over that one. It's so far you bought the bulls always high gets
under the fables, over the crossbar. But last five ten minutes, the sound is now really ascertained their control and it's not just possession.
They're beginning to create and fancical cracks. And it's been a sort of.
Backland all cleared by Harvey. You're messing around as the Sounders go and cut the ball in the far side with a throw and we'll throw it down to Michelle.
As you mentioned Danny Jackson.
Reagan has first start since April, where he missed eight matches in the season between that time and now out with a hamstring injury. The previous two seasons combined, Jackson almost only missed three, so obviously a welcome return from the center back.
Yeah, good to see him back, especially with the injuries of Kimkie and yamar Bor gets played to Rothrock wins the ball against Gressop Paul goes in headed clear by Boxel good defending by Minnesota. We're well played by Rothrock made something out of nothing. It's usual energy wanted off Gresol, Gresseler and Nibble didn't go down stay and honest sounds that possession attacking third of the field. What's it out back now to Rothrock closed down by Gressol. Steve zach
Wini mentions Rothrock. Wressel's sitting on a yellow card. After that soft yellow card, there's near sight against Newhoo Sounds having farst side.
The right is half the field now is.
Covered in shadows.
The sun starts to set behind us.
The ball goes in picked up by Gresseol well top of his eighteen yard box, play down to Will Trapp. Wriggles out of pressure from Musotsky, cuts it to Praier and then I'm fast side to market that you've got a brace in the US Open Cup against Saint Louis a couple of weeks ago.
His first brace in MLS albeit be a US.
Open Cup three two win for Minnesota against Saint Louis, who actually got a win yesterday. And we'll get some of those results from the Western Conference as we get further into this game.
Sounders, as we mentioned, star to the day in fourth position.
Chance to leap from Minnesota with the win today as they sit in third, Gresso plays it in from this right side.
No chance is taken by Karan. He try to cushion a ball to Vargets picked up by Minnesota and.
Then just recklessly challenges Prayer from behind leaders free kick something the Sounders have to deal with.
Yeah, and that's the downsound of view form Zuber as their clone, gives me a bit more patient when your partner's going nowhere facing away from the gold, there's no needs to dive in there. He does so, and then now gives me a sort you know, not exactly what they want. You know, you mentioned that they may live for the transition, but also equal as important will be
the set pieces. And it's a free kick, definitely a striking break about twenty five yards twenty seven yards from boat on that left hand side of the eighteen yard box. Up and Fry gets a big warm up, and it's the first time in a sort of reading with a chance to really look at the gold and thread the gold with definitely is shooting distant.
Yeah. All the green shirts for the Sounders inside their eighteen yard box, four men wore ten yards away from the ball and it's gonna be Wressel with his right for prayer, with his lefforts left of scent or twenty five yards or so firm separate prize goal. Sound is holding just a couple of yards inside their eighteen yard box. It's gonna be a prayer straight into the wall. That's gonna brayn more. Sound is so strong and then clear
their lines with bell flicked up. That's a prayer headed down towards market.
It strikes it over the top. Sounds.
We'll take that one as it flashes into the south end and the flags waving and the Seattle sun here in the thirty fourth minute, sound as Neil Minnesota nil.
Yeah, I just want to be careful.
Let's not wanted.
It went back to the foul that left that free jper Canari there. You want to be aggressive. You kind of went to the game said, hey, let's trying to win the ball back every chance we get as quickly as we can. But sometimes the very best defenders that I've watched growing up and played against, they hardly ever golphing to make a tackle. It was so patient. It was it was more about timing. You watched the Virgil fantas to the world very rarely goes to ground or
a bat on the border. Timing's so good, so as part of Clonie's development, that's gonna be a part of it. That's a bit, a bit patient and don't give away city free kicks in dangerous areas.
It was told a good defender doesn't have mud on his knees on his socks.
I was covered head to toe and mud.
The lording ladies back in my day on a hell of a job.
You know, grass stains out.
It comes Christian rolled as it flicks the ball a little bit air and passed, but in the sticky surface in the sun, ball holds up. Klanie retrieves back to Jackson Reagan eleven men behind the ball. As we've seen much of this game by Minnesota out to the right. He goes to Kiloni towards the end line too. Dela Vegga goes down, saves it and then cleared by Ramera, but not well picked up by the sound. So it comes de la Vega got some time, finds Rosnak right
the channel ten yards or so from the enirdline. Look flicking side to Kilaney, drops his shoulder, keeps possession back to Rosnack ball into Vargas, quick feet away from pressure, keeps the ball with rolled on back.
Out to the right hand side is Jackson Reagan.
You know when the Sounders have time and space is when your center back is eighteen yards from the end line in the right channel. De la Vega dead center, rolls it out square ten yards too. Knew who chucked in from his left back spot. Rothrock wide receives him.
It comes inside.
Sounders looking for that little opening can move the ball quickly and then take advantage. Will drop the shoulder by Dalla Vega rus it square to Rosnak, rolls it into Mussosky. Out to the right is Jackson Waye.
Goodball on the six.
Bob bounces up, Flash up Bike Dain Sinclair. Sounders asking for a penalty. The referee gives a foul on somebody and won't let you figure it out, Steve. But what a chance by Rothrock for Rothrock in the backstick.
You will not see a better cross maybe in all of football this weekend. That's Jackson Rae in your center back whips of ball from a round side dangerously across the six shard box. Is such a great delivery.
Rough Rock coming to back posset.
Yeah, that should have be in the back of the net, gets too much underneath it, and while the ball's in the air there a free season in fraction. I felt that it was a kind of a physical occasion. I don't know, that's so too much of a fire. We've seen some replace here now those chrisian O, Dan and Mussoski both in the vicinity.
The free kick Goesman a sort of his way.
But what across from Jackson Reagan had the back poles, you'd expect Paul Rothrock a playoff. He's kind of an oar decision's career to be putting into the back of the net.
Well, when the likes of Roy Keen and Gary Neville used to mock the Man United lack of success this year was when Harry McGuire would step up on the right side and be the best winger that they have.
I don't think the sounders are.
There at all, but shows the quality of Reagan on the ball able to deliver some quality events from his center back spot. Mentioned first outing for Jackson, Reagan.
As a starter for a month or so.
Get in the thirty seventh minute sound as nil Minnesota mill as the sounds picked up to be a thrown on the far side. Well, this copyrighted audio casts of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced more rebroadcasts without the express rint consent of Major League Soccer. Sounder's happen Now that's sits to feel it a bit more picked up by Peree in the middle of the park, rosnack down sounds retreating.
Now step by Jabelle Well won by from Ola.
Chet who just showed a little bit too much of the ball to the sounder center back who stepped in admirably alongside Jackson Reagan. He stepped in over the last couple of weeks when Amar's been out. Can keep he now.
Out as we mentioned Sounders, fans and staff, and if the.
Players keep their fingers crossed, the likes of GAMR can come back for Club World Cup just coming up in a couple of weeks, Jordan Morris expected to maybe get some minutes or be available from the bench potentially. We'll see next week against Vancouver as he makes his way back. We've seeing him in Frantice the last couple of weeks, just gently introducing him back to the group. Sound does have it the foot of Della vag His Brotha makes
a little running side. He's gonna roll out over the end line is he goes out for a gold cake. Remains nil nil, We're gonna throw it down to Michelle. Thank you, Danny.
Head coach Brian Schmenzer confirming that we can't expect to see Jordan Morris back in action against Vancouver.
He won't start.
What he did say that he expects him to get some minutes if everything continues to progress over this next week before then. As for Yamar, he remains out with a hamstring injury that he suffered last week against Dallas. Rough timeline there is two to four weeks before he'll be available. As for Kim Ki, he he has a strain in his calf after having to leave Wednesday's match early.
Still waiting on results of an ultrasound to get a definite assessment of the injury and a timeline of his return, but obviously hoping that it's just minor at this point yet.
Thanks Michelle.
We'd love to see Jordan Morrison full flight against the lights and Markinhos Saint patro in the back line of Paris and Tamn. It feels like the Sounders now have good rotation. Missoski, of course, stepped in very very well in this place of Jordan Morris. Five goals out of five straight games for Danny Massoska, course tied the record here in Seattle, Freddy Monterra open Fammi Martins also five
of five. It comes Minnesota Sounds retreating left hand side is Romero, tries to clip it in, deflect it and picked up.
By Roth right now crossed half wayland.
We've got ball pushing it back by Prayer, good fell by the Minnesota attacking midfield player. But it's gonna be a yellow part. Sounders trying to go quickly. Referee is gonna pull.
It back.
As Vargas has it as Brian Schmizer just to the right of Michelle strolls his technical area. Sure Michelle will get a chance to talk to Brian as he comes out of the tunnel. Should be a positive for team talk. I would expect just when the opening goals, if all goes towards the end line with rath Rock cuts it back top of the box. Nobody there except lud who picks it up. Perea rolls it out to Ola se steps in by knew who well right in front of
the Minnesota bench. Ball shifted from Wrestle from this news so I've but picked up by Kerlanney Jackson. Reagan has it just steps forward, Sofski.
Closed down by Romero. Now foot of Kerlanney.
Ball get shifted to New on this left hand side. Five minutes ago of the forty five. Here see what the referee adds on. Kind of imagine it'll be much saw five seconds about it time. Yes, and in the Champions League final, if we didn't want to put into Milan through any.
More misery, they were training five goal to nil.
As roth Or plays at square to Vargas on his left hand side, is Rosneck just drops his shoulder. Eleven men behind the ball for Minnesota sounded just keep possessed, trying to unlock this stubborn back line. As you've mentioned, ball down the line towards roth Rock, cuts it back. Wrestle on a yellow card close the ball down Rothrock back to Vargas, comes back to New static inside the Eachen yard boxes the back line for Minnesota.
Step out.
Now the line goes New towards the end line. He goes cut it towards the backstick, goodball headed clear by Markinish, finds Kilaney back to Jack's a Regnna put it in a fantastic balls a couple of minutes ago. Can he step forward? He does, cut it back to rolled off planning right on the right, receives the ball far side the right, rips it in towards the back.
Stick, pushing the.
Bat by News.
It's gonna be a free kick inside the six yard box for Minnesota and Michelle. What's the vibes like on the bench just your right, Brian Schmidz. It seems satisfied, you know what?
I would say, Yes, the team, the coaching staff seems very happy with what they're seeing so far out of their team. I mean, over sixty five percent of the session for this first half for the Sounders. They're wanting a little bit more. You can hear specific players being called about and talked about by the staff here. I'll get an update of course at halftime, but I'd say overall,
pretty please. There's been good movement, good possession opportunities. But knowing this coaching staff, specifically Brian Schmutzer, you know they want them to probalize on them in those final third moments.
Yeah, thanks Michelle.
Of course, Minnesota really all the best chance of the game when they broke on the counter and it was ahead of Violawa che off the crossbar early on in this game. But it's been all Sounders since then. Really well. June is Pride Month. Support LGBTQ plus own small Businesses joined the Month of June for a chance to win Sounders prizes. gonna be a goal kick for the Sounders. Finish my read well, join the month of June for has to win sound As prizes. Visit intentionalist dot com to find a business. Hear you, and that's just what Minnesota can do. Sounds put a little bit of press that broke the lines and then all of a sudden, I can't imagine it's gonna be something that Brian Schetz is gonna have to take care of at halftime with some of his comments.
Is it's being defensively minded when you have the ball, because that's when you can get caught out.
So we'll see what.
Brian schwtz It says to Michelle, that's an area for the Sounder just to take care of the ball, take care of their press as Minnesota build and out of the back. As you mentioned a number of games around the league. Yesterday, big huge game for MLS at six o'clock the CONCERCAFF Champions Cup Final Cruisers.
All hosting Vancouver white Caps. Can Vancouver be a team in MLS to win?
Of course the Sounders did that as the ball goes in behind Dela Vega to market. If top of the box strike could save by Stephan Frye to his right. There was a stellar performance in midweek wherefore I made a number of big time saves. The sign when called upon makes a saves to his right he gets the ball in possession.
Seven saves Wednesday's match dating for step and Fry.
Yeah, one of those of course right before the halftime whistle.
With a strong left hand, just like it did then, So dangerous ball by Rosnack, blind ball in the middle, picked up by hollow a shape. How's the ball sounds up to be careful stepped in by Rag and picked up my roll doan Yeah, thanks Michelle. Just another example of what Stephan and fry can do for the sound As he may not score winning goals, but absolutely counts exactly the same. I was coaching a young kids sehim, I always set to the goalkeeper every save he or she made was worthy of all the.
Players on the field should respect that.
The Sounders players and fans of course, always respected Stephan Fry, captain for the Sounders.
Incredible tenure.
Here all goes long hitter Byolawa Sha tries to dink it over us. Stepan Fry assistant referees, flag eventually goes up. Sounders have given up a few in these final minutes, and there's a whistle from the referee to being this halftime to have closed. No goals to speak of in
this first forty five minutes for the Sounders. It was all Sounders in possession, sixty five percent possession for the Sounders, as Michelle Luckkin mentioned the moment or so ago, But who was Minnesota have finished the half the strongest couple of chances that Stefan Fry managed to repel. Well, don't leave us at halftime, Jackson, felts Keller, Rowe and Pete Fewing, We'll be back to break it all down well the
halftime here at EUC Pitch. Here at Luomenfield. Sound is Nail Minnesota, United Nail.

Now time for the Sounders FC Halftime Show zero.
Zero between your Seattle Sounders in Minnesota, United through forty five minutes here at Loomin Field, A beautiful day for soccer here in Seattle as the Sounders are trying to finish off a nine point week where the Sounders had one nothing wins over Dallas, one nothing win over San Diego, and now zero zero Seattle has them right where they want him to get a third one nothing win here in this second half.
But welcome you in to the halftime show.
Jackson, Pheltz, calenrow peepe Fewing here to break down that first half.
Callen, I'll start with you. What did you see in the first forty five they We're going to continue to be verbatim over these last few games I've had here at home this week. It was a little bit okay, right, he was a little bit sloppy In some areas, there's guys trying to do a little bit too much on their own and the balls get played in. But nothing's on the end of it. Coach is gonna talk about it. I'm guessing again. But there was no run to the near post to drag any defenders out there. I mean
there was. He was good, don't get me wrong. Because the Seattle Sanders were dominant in that first, let's say forty minutes, because they got a little warning shots at the end there. The last five minutes or so, Minnesota
kind of took over. And if I'm my numbers are correct, which I'm not really looking at too much, but Saalttle Sanders may have had a lot of shots or opportunities or possession, but Saint Clair didn't touch the ball and have a safe while Stephen Frye made three already in the last five minutes of that half.
Yeah, I would agree with that.
The last five I was glad to get to halftime zero zero because Olache up run is He's dangerous.
He's a handful, right, He's given Jonathan Bell a lot of trouble. You know, it is interesting.
I've never seen a game like this where Jackson Reagan is so high up the field because they're only playing with one and he's on the right hand side, almost like a wing back, and then Colony is coming in underneath. You are correct, that near post run is critical. Misovsky's making vertical runs, right, but they've got five defenders in there. He's got a slash in front. We are getting wing play, but we've got to make sure we get that.
Near post run Jackson Reagan Reagan wing plays. I know, it's amazing. You know, Jackie had the best ball in the box that half.
Yes, and he almost had a chance where he could try to do the village right and go take everybody on, and instead he played a ball back.
But Minnesota is compressing and getting.
Numbers behind the ball. I do think Christians hit a couple of good, dangerous balls, but we can't. We got to get them facing their goal. And again that near post run, it.
Is in my not now.
It is the best thing about this is look they have down now Minnesota is I'm guessing they're going to make some changes. But Julian Gressel, their right wing back, who was against Paul Rothrock, who's again one of those guys is going to go after you and go after you, go after you. Hey, he's already on yellow card and
close to honestly close to that red card foul. And then now you have the left wing back on a yellow card as well, so can Page de la Vega, whoever comes on Georgie Ryan, can you guys get after these guys and allow it so find a way to me tactical and take that take that guy on grab the foul, grab the second yellow, and let's get.
On with the case.
So much possession, but it's possession with a purpose. We need to have that purpose. We need to also make sure that we attack Minnesota where it's needed. We have a couple of chances, but you need to turn it more consistent. We talked about possession with really nothing going on off so can you find a way to be that darting run for that near post like coach talks about to create space for someone else? And look, we've talked about it in the in many pregames, post games, halftimes. The Sounders find a way.
To win, they do by the way deja vu. The last two games we've been zero zero at half time.
We got a penalty kick in the eighty sixth minute at Dallas and fifty eighth minute get a goal.
So seasons have sort of themes that they get used to.
So Brian will probably be walking and say, hey, not great last five minutes, but we've been here before.
Let's find a way to go get the win.
If this game is still zero zero in the fifty fifth, sixtieth minute, each of you, who's your first sub off the.
Bench, Well, it's got to be Ryan Kenneth, right, It's he's gonna be the playmaker. They got to bring it in and honestly, for me, that next one is gonna be Alex Wildan.
Yeah, I agree.
I think Alex is the one that has that little bit of quality, a little bit of extra piece to himself, with a lot of space on this right side.
And you know what, Georgie will help. But I'm with you those that'd be my first and second choice. Georgie would help and Dave Zzario if if if Danny's not getting.
It, you know, not feeling it right.
He's a scrappy player, just like his father, a great finisher. We obviously saw him want miss one really close, but that was his debut, so I'm gonna let him have that one. But then you have to think about it. Pockets. Stuart's gonna probably come in as well. I'm not sure. I'm not sure Reagan is gonna be able to make the full ninety.
It's a great point by Callan and also Danny. You think minute when so Osase and Stuart Hawkins. We'll see about Kent, but hopefully the Sounders get a goal in the first five minutes of the second half and the whole plan changes.
We'll see how this thing shakes out. We'll see what Brian Spencer does.
It's zero zero between the Sounders in Minnesota, Danny Jackson, Steve Zach Wanning, Michelle Lucca. They have your second half starts next on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.

R FL Welcome back Sounders fans to EQZ Pitcher lumin field on, Danny Jackson alongside Steve Zaquanni here in the birth Michelle ludkoh Ha in a chance to talk to Brian Schmitzer walking out of the tunnel for the second half.
Shell is down on the sideline, just a couple of steps away from Brian and the coaching staff.
We'll get to Michelle in a couple of moments to get her take and Brian's take on that first half of what to expect from this second half. To get a quick early change here for Minnesota, we'll get you those lineups in just a couple of moments, but no change for the Sounds, We'll get you that starting eleven
right now. Steven Frank Gohla back four, Kilaney Jackson, reger, Jonathan Bell Knew who Christian rolled on alongside Obed middle of the park, Pedro delaveager, Albert Rosnack, called Rothbrock, and then Danny Mussovski up front.
Players start to make their way.
Their starting lineup to get this second half underway. It's gonna be Albert Rosnack from the Kick Sounders in their anniversary kit, green shirts, blue shorts, white sox. They're attacking the South end the goal to our right and then Minnesota their dark kit today attacking the goal to our left as quickly played to Dela Vega to Kilaney, sounds on the front foot straight away and it gets clipped.
Nothing given by the referee.
Sounds that possession of the ball already and they're attacking third of the field. We'll get to Michelle in just a moment as the Sounders We'll to press and trying to open up something in these early minutes.
Cleared by Markinich and then hook clear by area.
It's Jackson Regan, Jonathan Bell to o Bed close quickly. Now it's drops the shoulder, skips by Learners, arthroat Waits tries to go inside now cuts back played two by o Bed. The Sounders face what they faced for much of the first half. It's just the the bank of dark shirts and shorts rolled on. Has the ball alls have this near side of the right good fully start for the Sounders playing on the front foot. Jackson Reagan's to Dela Vegas, kicks it in and then asks for
the ball. Is Ramera is going to be a Sounders throwing deep on their right hand side. Early pressure from the Sounders in this second half. We're on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJR FM nil nil between Sounders and Minnesota. Walk out the top of the box to Fargas turns away from pressure just right side of the eight.
He comes to Jackson re Reagan, who has been adfenced on his right spot.
Fort goes into Posovski over the top, goalkick and we'll with that. We're gonna throw it down to Michelle.
Thank you, Danny.
As I spoke with head coach Brian Schmitzer coming out of the tunnel and he told me overall he liked the performance of his team in the first forty five minutes of play, although he said they consistently were not putting Minnesota under enough crusher. He thought Minnesota seemed too comfortable and that was how they like to play. So they really spoke on defense they want. He wants the team.
Higher up, more crushure defensively.
And instead of waiting to see what Minnesota does, to force them to do certain things while offensively, he really stress that he needs another guy in the penalty box with then an additional trailer coming in every time they get close to an attacking position.
Yeah, thanks Michelle.
Well goes back to step friend Froyd Boldon asking for the bull step quite clears his lines up. He goes easy win by Ramero, heads it forward, got by Pere to a market issue, plays the ball into Olowa. Che You had a couple of really good chances in that first off. I guess the crossbar from ahead early on, and then you last five minutes and so it's one a couple of chances to break. Wait. So Steve, going off what Brian Schmittzer said, you've been in that halftime
team talk for the Sounders. Maybe if Brian as a as a as an assistant coach, But in terms of changing in this second half, what do you expect Brian to do?
I think you'll give this group another five to ten to fifteen minutes or so. But if it stays as it's something you do have to both to the bench. At some point, I put myself in the opponent shoe. Did the Sounders do anything that Minnesota we're not expecting? I don't think so. They came into this game no way. The men in green will have the ball, they help
probe get the ball out, Whiree get crosses in. We'veout really truly been threatening, and so I think that's where you're one v one players to George's and most likely Brian Kep first off the bench when they come in with a bit more predictable. Gives you another variety way to attack a another dimension as well, and so I just think five ten minutes, let's see how it brows. If it stays in this tryin Nil Nail a lot of possession and without being too dangerous, he'll look to be spent.
It's gonna be a free kick four minnesots right inside their attack in half after the field for the pereer is going to throw it to the back stick or headed up in the air overhead kick by I think it goes Oloa sha yep, goes wide. A sepern Fries posts. It's going to be a goal kick early in this second half. Forty ninth minute Neil nil. Sound as Minnesota. So let's get you this Minnesota.
Lineup and in one tactical change, probably for Eric Ramsey.
Dean Sinclair eight clean sheets on his season so far, leads MLS. He's in the goal back three at Harvey box or Romero Julian Gressel makes way for long one a comes on the right hand side Gresol of course, who talks about it in that first half on a yellow card, talking about trying to attack him. Well Aery Ramsey pulls him out the firing line. He makes way for long one a trap Jean and then Markinich attacking two tens.
Of Luod and Pereer and Holoa Sha plays up front.
So the whole tach to give attacking Gressole the second half out of the window.
Yeah, naicely the chest moved there by Minnesota, but it's smart. You know who's on a yellow card there and Road is not a couple of times as Roderick just I've got behind him a few times, and you know.
That the sound is as we said, do have options on the bench for that position, and so we're.
Getting him out there now without risking a second yellow card. Makes sense. I do think Christmas or Unit Eive are showing a little bit of one bishop at second half start, and I don't think they're gonna come out of the show completely, but maybe just gaining in confidence. They've had a couple of bit chances as you mentioned.
All turns out a pressure a longruney available to the right top of the box goes down by New overlapping run by Lud all behind him.
Good law turn by Lud cuts it back strike and just as see zac Quarni mentioned, Minnesota to take advantage quick play on the right hand side, good intricate turn by Lud finds Olae and Minnesota to get the opening goal.
I just got the sense as the second half began there will being a bit more ambitious, just a little bit more daring. And it proved to be true when I saw United kind of easy play the way through the Sounders right down the spine. Once the ball got out wide to the right hand side, the turn by Learn I mean it is a special This is as good as what any playmaker and them that's gonna produce.
And the cutback is even better, and it's a very confident finishes from the back of the nead. Stephen Fry has no chance.
The sound is now the worst thing I guess a team who's coming here to just sit back is to forward behind, and that's exactly where the Sounders find themselves.
Now this game has gone exactly how many saw United.
Yeah, ball goes in by Pedro Dolvega, Sounds trying to respond quickly We know the five minutes after scoring could be when the team is most vulnerable. Here come the Sound is right corner the box with Dela Vega towards World.
Ark clips it in.
Nobody there headed clear by long warning Sounds maintaining possession. Stevens. I want to mention plays right into their hands. I'll just pack this in and defend for their lives. Now. One of the very best teams in terms of their defensive play fourteen goals giving up this year, second best in MLS, Minnesota sound is going to have to do all the work.
Now.
The ball goes down the line, cut out well by Markinich. Cuts the ball down towards Perea. Let's knock it around. Rolled on, he goes wild ane chasing. Two players follow our Shae far Side is available, but tracked by Jonathan Bell as well done continues to go with Perea. Jonathan Bell rolls in. It's a penalty. Clumsy by Jonathan Bell. We thought the five minutes after scoring goal would benefit the Sounders. It still the exact opposite quit one two punch by Minnesota down the left hand side.
Was Perea.
Played the ball into Aloshe actually long running, goes down it's gonna be a penalty for Minnesota Steve's.
And we'll get a first look at the replay here and look, you can say it's a bit soft. Is that contact?
Yes?
I always think if that's outside the box, we will take a free kick. Most likely in that scenario, it does seem a bit soft and it will be looked at. Is there enough here of an era to aver turn I'm not sure. I just do wonder if Christian Road don't could have that play back that's to commit the foul to the yellow card. That's what we put a professional file. Because Perere's carried up board eighty yards into the sound of a penalty era. He's the one that
plays the past that leads in a penalty. Christian rod Down was with him. Every step put away will be it one step behind. And maybe if you're not gonna match him step for step, you just tug at your shirt, put your hand up to the yellow card. Give a team a chance to get back that didn't happen. I'm gonna Sat United have a penalty and it looks like it's been checked and it's a penalty.
Yet not enough to turn it over.
It's gonna be a penalty for loud Minnesota leading one, Nill have a chance to make it too.
Look, just got the assist for Alaa. Shay has a chance now to.
Get his second goal of the campaign. Steps up, place it in bottom corner. Stephan Pryor went the right way. It was just accuracy and power that beat the Sounders goalkeeper. And within a couple of minutes of each other. Minnesota do what all good away teams want to do is try to counter the press of the home team. They've done that twice they lead to nil.
Listen, you have to give some times tip it half to the opponent. They've come in here and executed their game plank of perfection. He's look at a hopeful born in at halftime Neil nil would have galvanized them, would have boosted them, and they've come out. They've got the first scorer. That wasn't enough to run from parade. I mean he's run eighty yards, got a board into the box. Is it a penalty?
We can debate that to the cows come home. But Bell does make contact.
All over the top two Dela Vega towards the end, Niney goes rips it in.
That's gone.
Scores for the Sounders A what a response.
For the whole team.
Sounders get one back here lerman Field, Sounders war on Minnesota two.
Well, there's that five minute where we talk about Minnesota point to no up, but that leg did a loss.
On You know, you can hear the crowd here roaring out the seats.
And it's a really really good goal by the Sounder's fantastic passing behind for geta vega and the determination and he's run to get there, puts in a great cross from the right hand side across the six shot Bobs and.
The young star come on, he's right.
There with a confident finish, nice and low pass the golf. You bop the Sounders right back into it.
Find himself to you under with that, we're gonna throw it down.
To Michelle With that goal, that becomes plenty second of the season and the third assist for dald Bega.
The best part after that was the roughs rush and hustle.
Back to the midpoint line to start the game up again, and the body language and the enthusiasm from Klannie as he tried to get the crowd even more going on their feet. The crowd definitely on their feet now and excited to keep cheering on this team and hopefully the Sounders will continue to feed off of that momentum.
Thanks Michelle.
Yes, massive role for that goal. Just when the Sounds look like behind now, the Paul goes to talk to Musovsky, ball bounces through.
Foul.
I think it's on boxaw came across by Mussovsky six and one half a dozen the other this song, it goes across to the Sounders. Boxhill stays on the ground, free kick inside the eighteen yard box. Just what the experienced boxer will do, Steve, You'll just lie there, burn off a couple of seconds just so his team could get themselves back on track.
Here he's on a bias team some time. But yeah, again that player coming from a very direct board. We talked about the Sound has been very good at possession and that's that's all good and well. Minnesota is expecting that they want you to beat them by fire and passes every now and then you have to search up. I asked earlier, have the Sound has done anything that Minnesota United may not have expected? And yes, maybe playing a bit more direct it led to the goall. It
leads to this last action we just saw here. Now you're forcing them to drop back a bit more. It's only two one the crowns into it. The best one is hard to have going for them right now is that momentum. You don't want to let your foot off the gas.
Just what Brian Etzo would have demanded from his team, a quick response.
They got it right.
There's a tough couple of minutes for the sound has two quick goals scored by Minnesota. We felt like they were gonna lock it in from that point forward. Now the Sounders played on the front foot ball on the right left hand side, fast side cut inside by roth Rock rolls it.
Into the la Vega plays the ball into a roth ro a good challenge.
Shop of the box by Minnesota, picked up by Jean and then rips the ball around the corner to Long Warning. All shade two is right finds the ball. Sound is in retreat mode. Here, ball goes towards Long Warning. Jackson make it stand strong, pushes Long Warning back, which support is Jehan Long has He goes all the way back to box sl Sounders getting eleven men behind the ball right back into this game here all top of the box two Maria strike safe and a follower. Oh my goodness,
it's Minnesota again. The strike from Prayer saved by Fry and it's followed up in the back of that it goes and the Sounders go down three goals to one and.
Now off the three gold This one would be disappointing for many many reasons.
That entry pass from boxer enter Pryur, he's twenty yards.
From bowl, receives it turns no pressure at this level when you're chasing a game that can't happen. He's already shown what he can do.
Have the time to receive the board, time get a shut off.
Stephan Frank can only Parriot what all grist strikers do follow the rebound. He does so, and Minnesota United against momentum, restore the two goal lead, three one.
A couple of chip Well three changes, now trio of changes for the Sounders.
Jackson Reagan goes off. Stu Hawkins gets another run out here came on in the first half last week. The injured Kimky here Well Roth Rock makes way for Ryan Kent.
Tall Vegas just waiting for his number to put up.
He gets his assists today comes on Georgia Manonoh goes off.
George Mungo comes on.
So Brian Schmetze making some quick changes here in response to that third goal by Minnesota, so the Sounders were right back in. It responded immediately after that second goal for Minnesota. Minnesota re established their two goal lead here. As we mentioned, never one at lumen Field. His ten wins out.
Of ten for the Sounders. They've got a lot of work to do now. Or flipped in picked.
Up by marketag Wade in Sue Hawkins steps into the board, lud gets it.
It comes world trapped, rolls it out to all the shade.
Two goals in his campaign looking for a Hatrick good challenge by Jonathan Bell, slides across all the way.
Che stays on the deck.
Sounders don't need to put it out all the way. Che is on the ground.
Sounder's gonna keep going here.
Ball shifted from allD On to the far side of the left of Ryan Kent, brings it down out of the air. Son in his eyes, No problem there, picks up by Rusnak all the our shape back on his feet.
Now it comes Ryan Kent.
Lit'll step over him, thinking all cleared up and away by Romero still inside the box, flipped around the corner by Pereira, took that shot, forced to say by frive for that third goal. Hold On comes across, it's gonna be a thrown up to Minnesota on his left hand side.
And it doesn't matter how many times you're saying, it's one of the universal truths and football. You are at your most vulnerable when you've just scored. We've seen both Team four victim to it today, the Sounders having got himselves back into the game. It's just the ease with which Minnesota were able to restore their lead that will disappoint.
Brian Schmetz up. There was nothing too clever. It's right down the middle, shot rebound gold but bringing on Georgian, bringing on right Ken Georgia and the right hand side, Ryan kenn on your left hand side.
The sound is sitting there intent They're.
Gonna go for it here, and why not.
I think we're in for a cracking finals thirty minutes or so.
Jacks Awayen of course, most likely it was a decision that was made well ahead of those goals.
Jackson Reagan gets about two thirds of the.
Game sixty minutes, getting in a sixty second minute, there was a multiple strike number of strikes, two strikes quickly by Minnesota goes up two goals to Neil Sounders within a minut can it come back? Get one back of the Minnesota against the momentumus sounds we're building pick up their third goal. They lead here at lubin Field three goals to one. On sports Radio ninety to three point three. KGr and Feminist seperated for I builds out of the back. We're gonna throw it.
Down to Michelle.
Yeah, I can't confirm that those substitutions were predetermined substitutions. Brian Schmetzer told me all three of those players we're going to be subbed out at halftime, specifically Jackson Reagan, who I can't confirm is on a minute count, being that this is his first game back since April as he was recovering from that injury.
Thanks Michelle, So Ryan Kent fresh, Ryan Kent need to do something now, of course, three assists in one hundred
and sixteen minutes start his Sounder's career. The quickest count to three assists and Sounder's history picked up now by that man, Ryan Kent down the line it goes to new Destries four ten yard from the end line cuts it deflected corner kick Sounders sixty third minute here Luminfield Sounders trail three goals so on they have to dig t here, but they've done that before against Minnesota, both
at Alliance Field and here at Lureman Field. To come back when trailing ball with tim By Rosne from the corner kick edit clear by the big frame of box up Captain Klany Sue Hawkin's on the right holes and in quickly could fall into Georgia.
Couldn't quick turn with it.
I'll mess around by Bosses plays his lines into the west end here, throwing it quickly boy the Sounders. Sue Hawkins rolls it out of business side the right to Georgie. There's a little bit of time and space. Little step over goes back to rolled on. Now to Georgie again right channel, tending answer the end. I strops the right shoulder Marshal well by market and she plays the ball
into Vargas. We didn't support back to Stu Hawkin's eleven men behind the ball, as you'd expect for Minnesota, got something to protect now poor ball By rolled on giving up to Pereer. Now tries to win the ball up Pereier through the legs of rolled on. It goes good play by Rodan just nicks In wins the ball. Now it gets its Christians drives forward down Ryan's side to Georgia.
Deep on this right hand side, right in front of the assistant referee.
Sounders looking to try and get three wins out of three within nine days here at lumen Field. After Georgie just takes the lie off, the ball goes out righting for the assistant referee.
It's gonna be a throw in four. Minnesota and Steve zac Quanti, that's not what branch at this point.
You want to maintain the pressure on Minnesota United, and one the ways you do that, you can't do that if you're making city in the errors like that. George, it's gotta be sharper. Minnesota are gonna take the time. They're gonna walk to every throw in, walk to every gold kick, and they're gonna ta tick tick this clock. If a Sounders, it's gonna sound counterintuitive, but you cannot rush this store have to be patient. Yes, you need three goals to win, two just for the draw. But
trying to play too fast. We'll get everything back in one goal. We've seen already the space on the back in parrel especially currently attack lone as well Minnesota. I'm more than capable in transition.
Towards the end. Then it goes to Georgie tries to cut it goes down, jumps up in the area. Had the cut signed to go down trying to win the free kick. Nothing given by the referee. As Mark Nich knocks the ball down the line to two gold Man or Lawa sh sound has retained put the ball playing into the Bell, who whips it from center to the far side left of Ryan Kent. New who in support Ryan Kent now drops the should towards the end line.
It goes Luke's able to retrieve it off Carvey. It goes kick on the advertising hoardings by Knew, who were frustrated he wasn't able to get the ball in, but he does earn a corner kick for the Sounders. They trail three goals to warn here and that scrupe is presented by Providence. Swedish Sounder's played in quickly ros Neck to Ryan Kent, will step over Boar goes to Farga top of the box back to Rosnik left corner of the eighteen top to Vargas step forward strike it played Bauxhall.
It's gonna roll out again for a second corner kit in succession this time whereas that puts it on the deck and I think he's gonna put this one into the box. Stu Hawkins, big tall, young player against his third outing for the Sounders today, bull whips it towards the back stick, headed down by Georgie, off the line by Minnesota and then headed clear picked up by Kent forty yards from Gold. Now to now instead of start to step their line. Put some pressure on the green
shirts of the Sounders. Bore one two with Kilani into Georgia, bull whips in short, isn't able to miss the first man. Lud comes back and does his defensive duties. What are your goals and assists on his day? The seventeen four Minnesota most goals in the Minnesota shirt with thirty four. Now what goes into Misosa like he's outside? Maybe I can give him by assistant referee.
Now goes down box last for potential fake of a free kick, but Paul gets cleared.
Sounders step forward.
As Bizales gets ready to come on. He's going to take the throwing quickly.
Laws in play refugation to hold things bad well sound as FC Soccer is presented by prominent Swedish official healthcare partner Sounders FC sixty seventh minute, two thirds of the way through here Sounders trailing three goals to what never
lost against Minnesota. Hear a lumin field as sunlight starts to dip over this west stand bare gets clipped towards Ryan Kent big frame of dancing clad comes on eight clean cheese on his year, as he mentioned, leading MLS was able to prevent Khalaney getting a goal for the
sound as his second goal. As Michelle Lucker mentioned of his career first of course, was the eleventh minute against LAFC here at Luminfield in that dominant fight two performance LFC has mentioned the first st HAF become the third MLS team to compete in Club World Cup after winning a playoff against Club America, the storied Mexican powerhouse in LA. They won two goals to one after extra time. It comes Minnesota down the left hand side or cut to llower shaped top of the box lot well by hawk.
It ricochets to Rosneck. Sounders like that. Rosneck drops the shoulder, tries to play against his hell clip by marketation, that's gonna be a yellow card for the left wing back.
It's gonna be free kicked right on the halfway line for the sounders.
I think you're for the sounders here at this point here, can you just start look at the clock a little bit? And when can you start really throwing more numbers for what so or maybe new who's running you attack to create a lot more twov ones. We frankt on the left hand side climb. He's not shy about getting forward
joining Georgie. You have to weigh the risk be reward at this point and you start leaning more on the pendulum towards risk, which it's not one guy trying to get back, you're trying to get back to at least two.
Just for a point and the clock. He's definitely Minnesota's favorite.
Reckless Faber marketing. That could be second yellow in a way, how is that not a yellow card? Where it is the consistency hacked down? It was a yellow car by Markets a minute or so ago. The referee is gotta take a look at this.
That is what players complaining about you one consistency, because just because you've just given a yellow, it doesn't mean if another offense that's yellow world he takes place five seconds later, you have to give it. And I think the referee is giving him off a way out there, and that's he's bottling it. It's just got to be saying it's a yellow card the whole state of Minnesota.
Cancre war whipped him by Rosnak the sound it second vantage and shir Hawkins goes up heads it goal kick. And let's go back to that scene because it felt like it was more obvious yellow card than the first one.
It was exactly that is a textbook yellow card.
And of course who comes off now? Wow, so Gressels on the yellow card came off at halftime, Markinich comes off. Now, referee is gonna not get a chance maybe to take a look at this because he's gonna get pulled off. Your Boa comes on. Another change for Minnesota. Will just add that Rossales came on for.
Jean in the center of the park.
Now he's gonna shift down to his left hand side. Gibaua plays up front. See Hawkins fights your boas its first.
Two goals for the club against Sounders last year.
Gets the ball left corner of the box, closed down by Stu Hawkins, drops his shoulders, the backstick curls, it goes wide. Gold kick remains Sounders one, Minnesota three Here twenty minutes to go of the ninety for the referee again.
Consistency pay has ten men because it's it's not a tough one. It's a textbook classic yellow card. Georgie knocked by his offender. The ball's gone, man pulls you down. Everybody knows that's the yellow card. The player's expecting it, the crowd's expecting it. And referee made it very clear when he ran over the that he was not gonna give it. And the only reason why is because he had just given one bud. That should not be the case here. You should charge the foul on his own
merit end. Minnesota definitely escaping. If the Simons you got shrugged off and keep going the sella game to play.
Him all down the line closed down by Kilaney. Just keep your hands ton he does.
Mara clears the ball off the chest of Olowa Sha two Gold Actually Yo Boa, it's Alwa now making a slicing running behind trapped well by used that rangey figure tackle by Knew who wins the ball but could be ludge makes Leugh CenTra the part two veteran Will trap well This copyrighting audio pads of majiately so could may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebrought cast with the express
run consent of Major League Soccer sounders. Pick it up and they're attacking third off the further Harvey my role god play towards the front stick goal kick box, Will ask for the deflection off it goes off masofsky over the end line.
SASKI asked him for the corner box.
Will asked for the goal kick as Minnesota's captain who wins the day goalkick fo Minnesota. Look down on our screen now called TV is playing the replay of that Markinich foul because he sits on the bench.
He's a lucky boy. And again fair plays in Minnesota and they recognize the right away got him Martin Farm's Way, two of their songs going off because obviously even yellow cards and the sound as rather than face the ten men faces even here. But as time starts to wind down here again, I just want to see a bit more dry from the sound is a bit more the
gold came from a direct play. Tell man, the best choice I've come from direct play and just point the possession game hasn't been enough to break down in a saw consistently. They've defended it really well. Their game plan's gone to plant here. You've gotta be a little bit more vertical, still with qualities, still with controls. Send a few more numbers for it be a bit more direct shots from distance. You have to go and wield the game back into your favor when you can't wait for it to happen.
Here's Ryan Ken left corner of the box.
Gotta step over towards the end lines trapped by long Jonnie and goalscorer Ala la shape. Towards the end line goes new who just tries to put it through the legs of long Nnie. He wins, the ball comes away with it. You clashes with Jonathan Bell and then Ryan Kent picks it up. Well. Wherever you're headed, Discount Tire wants to get you there safely. Shop for tires with treadwell your personal tire guide at Discount tire dot com.
Sounders at the foot of Ken loses at top of the box.
That's exactly what Minnesota want. They come again in transition. Sounders need a retreat. Loud just controls the ball with Trap and it's sort of got that experience. Steve in the middle of part now just to put their football when needed.
Yeah, Will Traps the player I'm known for a very long term an acron product. What he wants to do is just play little five to ten yard past the same possession. Lord's very good at that as well. They'll do that, draw numbers towards them, then do spread it wide. They've executed their game. I mean, listen, it helped. Schmidtz always says, Boss change games. And that first goal then the second one right after really swum things him in a sort of favor. And if take it full advantage
of it. This is the exact game they'd been envisioning in there. Wow, this dreams last night to be here at Newmanfield with the clock ticking down twenty minutes for Bowl assaul a two bowl league, a desperate sound of team. It's gonna be getting them to go in transition your balls, come on, He's got fresh leggs. He's a dangerous running behind two. The odds firm. He starts to get sound of says and goes to his bench one more time.
Yeah makes an attacking move Remaker White to go on left hand side like for like switch relative to position, but not the way that he'll play. Now knew who goes off Red will definitely be moving forward here. He is now eighteen yards from the endline left channel.
He plays an attack and.
Left back for sure as Rosneck deflects off all thea shake goes out far side the Sounders left for a.
Throwing in quickly to the foot of Rossacs click but an.
It bounces almost perfectly found with Musok. He made a good slashing run between Boxel and Romero almost got their bounces through to Dane Sinclair in the Minnesota goal remains three to one.
As he pushes his.
Back line out. Sounders now have seven days to wait until their next game. It's been a busy schedule in the month of May, but Sounders taken good advantage of the opportunity to get points on the board, looking for that third win out of three home straight home games before they get on the road next week to Vancouver, who sent number one spot in the Western Conference has mentioned they play in the CONKCAFT Champions Cup Final down in Mexico at Cruisers All tonight at six pm Pacific.
So went through the don't want Vancouver to win, we want MLS to beat Alliga MX team for that CCCS or goes towards the end line with Georgie cleared by the back front of Minnesota to find the food of Kolaney, who's got the soul Sounders goal so far as they trailed three goals to one were flicked in headed clear by Harvey, finds the top of the box to read Baker Whiting and then the system referees flag on this near so I goes up.
Zamasoski just inched off. Scien's going to be a free kick for Minnesota.
So DEMENTI. Let's get you a some scores around the Western Conference from yesterday Saint Louis to San Jose one, so win for Saint Louis. They've been on a losing track for a good number of weeks, looking down a lot of decent conference games. Miami getting a big five to one win against the Columbus Crew Houston I Sporting Kansas City three. It's a good win for SKC away from home Dallas nil, Philadelphia nil, San Diego two, Austin nil, and then the LA Galaxy champions last year of MLS Cup.
They get their first win of the year right before the halfway point of MLS. Can you believe that their first win out of seventeen games they get? They win two nil against RSL, so big hole to dig themselves out of a course. There's seven points I believe on their campaign so far, any cleared by Stu Hawkins. Sounders defending top of their box in Minnesota, continue to look for that fourth. They're not playing on the back foot, they said, at thirty eight percent today, which is right
at their season average. So just as the way they played as Coloney plays it into Mussofsky can eat Wriggle three, challenged by two three dark shirts, back heel towards Georgia, strikes it rash with the strike, slices it wide, gold kick remains Sounders one, Minnesota three.
Steve Zachuni.
But your pros plays better and why it was fast was dynamic, it was direct, it was control though Colon you were a good ball down the middle there. Mussoski, good first touch tries with purpose and the back line we see him receive the ball here Na still clever back here to Georgia. And that's just why you need that little bit off quality and that will come with
time for Georgia. There it takes a good first touch and just kind of slashes at the board there you want to maybe you have a bit more finesse and testa goalkeeper at the very least his shot goes harmlessly wide. Another chance was begging for the Sounders as the Croctics away.
Yeah, Clotics away approch the last ten minutes of the ninety as Perero who took that shot that was parried only by Seth and Fry called up for that third goal.
He wins the ball, wins the ball down.
And left ut so I picked up by the Sounds, given it away by Rolldan right to your Boa Fick signing from last.
Struggled in recent weeks, Holawache stepping.
In the Canadian International got its first goal of the international scene because earlier this spring into the US national team international game between the two big North American powerhouses Course Gold Cup wearing our doorstep as this club World Cup Vota Fogo Athletic Co Madrid Harry sander Man group games the Sounders will host. Before they do that, Sounders got to take care of business today. Towards the end line, he goes Georgia, clips it in boll bounce around top of the box to rebaker.
White has to go back for the Sounders to go forward.
Now they do with Roznak forty yards from gold dead center, pause it square to Vargas, out to Georgia again while it makes it run down the line. He gets there towards the end line, sliding challenge by Will Trapp. Good challenge, but over the end line for a Sounders corner kick. Here we're ten minutes to go.
Sounder's trailing three goals to one chance for.
The set piece, and I think they've got to the bed first and that's a big but you want to get in there. Yeah, and Kloone's afternoon's done. He again, he spoke a boy him playing in LAFC loss and he had a good game. This could well be a loss, but he's played very well again and Schmans to make sure to get a sob in early again. I think They'ressaro in there a big body for the set piece, as Rusnag gets ready the.
Quaker yea vogasaf Dorozario on.
Two big bodies now are center forwards in Musoskin Dorozario hit it down by Stu Hawkins again. The Sounders have three men back and it's Will Trapper wins the ball, but he goes down, tries to win the free kicks and referee doesn't give anything there.
Sounders have it fast side the left.
With Bryan Kent throws it in short to Read, who gets it back to Kent, rolls it into Stu Hawkins, back to Read Baker. Whiting drops the shoulder towards the endline. He goes along Warnie with it. Balk flips in defending well by the Minnesota right wing back.
Goes back to Stu Hawkins.
Now to Ryan Kent say it's in the box. All cleared by lud top of the boxes rolled on, turns out a pressure. Now the outside of the foot goes to Ryan Kent left channel, cuts it towards his left foot, thinks it towards the back stick up goes Georgie heads it up. Challenge by Osase over the end line. It goes Is it gonna be a corner kick? Yes, it is Rosa runs over on this near side.
I'm a precious mountain. It is Minnesota, so far standing.
Fun short to Georgie not step over spaces towards the endline.
He goes back to reed with his left He's gonna clip it.
In towards the backstick. It just narrowly wide, but it's gonna be a corner kick. It came off a Minnesota defenderer just inches wide of the far post. But another corner kick for the Sounders. Now this time is gonna be with Ryan Kent nine minutes ago of the ninety
Sound's gonna find something here. As they get trying to get back in the game trailing three goals to one against Minnesota United, who was sitting in third position coming into today's game, sound As in fourth read gets it, whips it into headed clear by boxel been a rock in the middle of that back five all bound and it comes to your boa and then play back like Clo kilani As. I think it's squilled trap holding his head, so the referee will have to stop it because it's that potential head injury.
The home fans don't like that.
Medical staff are on the sidelines ready to come on for Minnesota branch. Met's getting a glass of water, just patrolling his technical area. Sounders have a little lesson ten minutes to get something back here.
We'll see what the referee an's on.
But we will go back to that referee decision that maybe he should have maybe taken him moment just to think it through, get some information in his earpiece, but he made a quick decision not to give anything. Yeah, then of course you have to go back to that conclusive evidence that there'll want something there.
Yeah, those things did the impact the game because it will change the waymen a sort can play, rather than them being able to sum out a guy who's on his last warning.
Get playing for Mandel creates more space, but.
No, no, don't.
It's a boar by judge of Menango.
Romero tries to clear his lines, but the most secute angle slices in his own goal, and it's that the bit of good fortune the Sounder's name to get back in this game.
Sounders two, Minnesota three.
While it's definitely made this final ten minutes interesting, I had a feel of Sounder just needed one, needed one. It's Georgie who's made a big difference since coming on he's been really good on this right hand side. He yet again receives the board, puts it across and breely with no one around him. Romero makes a complete messout as clear as was seen a replay here. It's a deesel enough board, but yeah, it just gets these clear
as completely wrong callkeeper no chance his own goal. The Sounders black with in one.
Well, well, talk about the unlikely heroes of games. Sometimes it's not the players. You think it's Dallas. It was a referee decision against Sounders the pedale. Now the Sounders get one from an own guard back in the game. Here, Georgia Manonga down the Ryan's side just chicks his run clip saying off the hand potentially of Ammero. Then he
challenges and it goes off the end line. And he asked for the goal kick he was given and it did not look like it for ara angle and we're one hundred yards away.
And Trecky doesn't aggrieve. I don't know how that can be a goal kick because George is coming one way. The feller's come into head of the book clearly holds the way off the defender.
There's not reflection or anything. But another interest in a free decision.
But I like it from the sound as they scored and immediately he got back on to the front foot.
Maybe the nerves beginning to go into Minnesota.
Now they've never picked up a point here, They're so close, but the sound is may yet have something to say this afternoon.
Well, your Sounders are back on the road to face Vancouver and white Caps on Sunday, June eighth, at six pm Pacific. Watch the match via the MLSCS and passed on the Apple TV app and listen on kJ R and l RA thirteen sixty am. The Providence, Swedish pre mat show starts at five point thirty pm. Sounders have just over five minutes of regular time and whatever the referee adds on to get themselves back in this game. Is this a bit of lumen field magic that we see again today.
We've seen it so.
Many times where the Sounders just find a way to get back into games just pure will at times. This one was the best stroke of luck. They was struggling as the ball goes down the line as Georgia Munago trying to wriggle three goal kick. Good defending by the substitute Resales who shifted from the sentiment field spot to the left hand side Sounders to Minnesota. Three five minutes left of the ninety and you can hear the fight
and win chant from the Sounders. Faithful. It's youth soccer night here at Lumenfield and the stands are packed and they've been entertained. The sound is fine, just a little bit more magic. They've got two big players up front now. Twelve crosses in the game so far for the Sounders, and it was the cross from Georgia Minonga that got that vital deflection from Romero who got the second goal
for the Sounders. Nine corner kicks for the Sounders in this game as well, and they're knocking on the door again and attacking third building through Jonathan Bell. Now Christian rold On shifts it one touch out to the far side to Bryan Ken Now he's gonna whip it in towards Azaz put his hand to his face trying to block the sun. Heads it to Christian rolled On. Now one touch ball square to Jonathan Bell. Georgia Mnoga feels out wide here on this near side down the Ryan.
Tack closed down by Rossales.
He's attacking maybe one v one and see zach Vary as the quintersential wingers handing Georgia go. He tries to step.
He's just a little bit too late, allowed Razars to get in. Now he's gonna try.
And changle legs and unnecessarily gives it up. It's gonna be a free kick outside the eighteen yard boos from Minnesota as they can burn off a few more seconds.
Yeah, I think Georgie has been very good. But one era of his game he said, you can never get tired of taking your man on. The game is set up now for the space to be in the wide areas Minnesota very compact down the middle. He's gonna get a lot of the board. Just drive every time, drive every time, and every now and then he'll need to port Kloon. He will have to support him every now and then. Maybe get a run into the channel from one of the four wards as well Withstovski or the
Rosaro as well. But Kent and George, you are the key to the Sam's get back into this game or.
The referee better a seconds on because the fans are letting the referee know about the time wasting happening by Minnesota. You'd expect that, of course when away team. It's a team that has John Growler.
Finding three goals against a runner play and here comes.
Rozales shows the back stick, he has to head it away.
He doesn't do it well.
Whi get picks it up. Then Ryan Kent comes back, wins the ball.
Well done.
Ryan plays the ball quickly into Russneck, tries to back here not the place to do it, finds your boa top of the box challenge by Bell lull one two cleared by Stu Hawkins, so Derozario. Good play by a flicks around the corner too, Ryan Kent right, keet no real options, go square to roll down. Georgie feeling white again. The challenge comes in behind when a free allows play to go on. It looked like the foul Kilani has it.
Georgie on this Ryan side. All goes square across the Rosneck left of center, twenty five yards from Gold back to kilany goal score of that's first Sounder's goal. Sounder is trailing three goals to two. The score of he is presented by Providence Swedish step out by George towards the end line. Brilliant can you deliver strikes, goes over the end line, had a chance. That's good positive play by Georgie. They'll take that all day long.
The Shulders. It's what you want to see. He gets one view. He has an exceptional ability to get around the outside of his man almost every time. And it's just now, of course, about fine tuning that last bit off quality here. Oh that was very close. I don't left the whole boards over the linesman Sony seemed to think so. But'll be curateousy just how much time does get added on here. But as sound as you think, they will have at least a number five six minutes
to push it. They're well within one. It's one way traffic as expected.
Substitution four Minnesota Maurice Duggan twenty twenty four MLS draft pick from Marshall University comes on. Perea, a player who took that shot who was saved by frying them pushed back into the goal as Dame Sinclair comes out, just cushing the ball's near side to Rimero. This time does a book it clear successfully. Last time he tried to clear the ball, he went the back of the net of his own gold as Reed just turns out of pressure,
so pereer off gugging on. Five men lined up in that back five now try to defend their leaders Minnesota in this final second of the ninety See what the referee adds on.
We're looking down for the fourth official right now.
It comes Ryan Kent overlap and run by Reed plays it in just cleared, picked up by Azaz challenge, no foul given, picks it up. Ryan Ken goes down a little twist and shift a little like he's injured. Ball goes in challenged by Stu Hawk. It's seven minutes about it time and the Minnesota bench is just up in arms.
The one who where on Earth is seven minutes coming from.
Sarah's hat. Plenty of time. Now the crowd of seeing the number seven minutes first sound has found himself back in the game. Has Musati falls to the ground, picks himself back up. Ball on the left hand side we bake. Ryan Kent just drops that comes back to Christian to Russna finds and that could be a yellow card on thesofsky that'll be splashed out at Romero is gonna make the most of it.
Of course, goes down.
It's free kick for Minnesota and they lead three to two.
But.
Right and them will use all the experience rolling around as much as the reference now will take a precious maybe a minute off the clock now being helped to his feet, But that just sort of interrupts the momentum the Sounders we're building here. You've had a feeling that there is another big chance thing in this game. The Sounders have come close on multiple occasions, haven't been able
to quite crawd their way back to level times. Remember about five minutes and five and a half minutes here of at the time left, and you have to try to win the ball back as quitting as possible if you're the Sounders and get back down.
Note we've got two big men up front now with Ase and Danny Masoski. Can you get the ball out one and deliver good quality in sixteen crosses on the game so far. Now the ball goes our the top couldn't quite lifted over Duggan.
Now it's dropped and it comes off the back of Kilaney goes out in this near sign from Minnesota throw.
They'll take their time referee, if he's smart, We'll just remind them that he'll continue to add time on it's the big frame of Duggan Munich Born comes over, picks the ball up in his hands to one ball on the field.
Logan will just knock that one off.
If you mentioned Minnesota leading Amass's goal scored by long throwings.
Usually it's a box all that comes up to take those throwings.
That's how it goes to your Boa picks up by Georgie, he's the clearest line, don't mess around with and it gets dragged down. Good played by Georgie. Won the foul, e the foul.
It's gonna be freaking the sounds on this near.
Side the right quickly played by Kilani should rolled on sound as he didn't play on the front foot. Can they get a Steve zac Quanni mentioned one more quality chance and then can they take it? And it comes Ryan Kent towards the left corner. The box flicks it around the corner. Can he run goes down looking for it? I think it's Harvey that came across. Ryan Kent just gonna collect the ball and throw it to a dancin Clair who's already has one.
He's gonna be a goalkick.
Four Minnesota, three minutes of the seven gone sounders trailing three goals to two against Minnesota United.
Don't leave us at the end of the game, Jackson, Pete Kellen.
We'll be back to break everything down, all sorts to break down, of course, five goals on a perfect afternoon for soccer, and it's Sunday night soccer.
On Apple TV.
All the crews here, Jake, Zivin, Taylor, Twelveman, Diego Van Larry's standing right next to me, the Portland ledgend of course analysts on Apple TV. There come the Sounders cross half way lone. They go foot of Rosneck, Ryan Kent to his outside, drives forward, picked up by LUNs back to help his back. Five now picks up by Mazas
its the key possession. More goes out to the left hand side to Ryan Kent, overlap and run by Reed, drops his shoulder, goes square toward Zazi, steps in headed down, picked up by Masaski, cleared by Romero and then picks up John the belt. Little stumble just gets pulled down.
Refig as the foul.
Three minutes to go of the seven Sounders come again down their left hand side. We rolled on molted out to the far side, long run. It comes across another cross comes in towards the backstick bounces through. Mislosi couldn't elevate. It's gonna be a goal kick four Minnesota on the south end. Here to our roy the remains Sounders two Minnesota three. In this sport is presented by provident Swedish
Steve zach Kwani or the Sounders. You need here many a time he's pushes in the final moments, whether the sounds of phone breakthroughs, just need.
That more chance, just need one and the trucks running up and listen, we've seen crazy things in this very stadium over the years. It's not over until it's over. You do have to give credits to Minnesota and it came over a very clear game plan. They've executed it what it knows. In the front they just about over the finish line. But do the Sounders have one more attacking them? That won't help, as minisaul would eat more pressure seconds off the clock before taking the centuries.
How for Minnesota has rolled on on lud good user experience, putting body becaueen ball and player just spun as he did for that first goal by Alaa Shay, brilliant play on the counter by third he's able just the spin away put the ball back to all the way shade.
It was a cool smart finish by Minnesota.
It comes Rosales, try to flick it over Bell inside the eighteen, picked up by Lani good played by Azati. It turns the corner, cross our breadline. He goes, drives forward. It pushed down by lud That's a good foul by the Minnesota man. Be goals both of Minnesota does his defensive work, pulls down Rosara de Rosario in full flight.
But now it's a chance for the Sounders from a freaking.
Maybe a lot of chance went to the final minute of the time added done. You take your time if you're Russnack's a very high line by Minna Saula United. Get your time in right, get it through right here. If you're Albert Russnick, you want to put something that's gonna trouble the goalkeepop get a much bodies into the box as possible, create confusion and hopefully something good froms out of it.
I'll say Harvey down again. Clash between Masoski and the back line from Minnesota. More goes into roll guard inside the itch. He gets pulled down, but he had gone down. Refra crowds asking for something. Head it clear by Duggan, picked up by Russak, good driven ball towards the far side, headed up and away by Minnesota. Picks up by Ryan Kent in the sunlight and the far side the left rips it in, clips it towards the backsid. Georgia goes up.
I can't get it on Gold picks up by Rauzznak, almost by Mansales, almost found the ball to the feet of your foe and no found needed by Kilaney gets the ninety seventh minute here more goes back and then cleared by Minnesota, and the sound's gonna have another chance. So Hawkins lets it bounce, picks up by Reed, knocks it long up and there it goes challenge by Dorozario, slice clear. There's a referees whistle.
The crowd grew.
As much for the performance of the referee, I think than anything else. But the Minnesota e fench celebrate and it was a big win from Minnesota, and it started the fifty first minute alloway shake got Minnesota on the board, and then it was a quick fire goal again in the fifty eighth minute, fifty fourth minute, I should say
by lead on the penalty spot. Kilanea god a quick by response one minute later in the fifty fifth minute for a second goal on the season, and then it was followa shake again in the fifty eighth minute from a deflected save by Stephan Fry to make it three to one. Romero gave the chance sound Of some hope with an own goal in the eighty third, but they hung on to win three goals to their first win at Lumen Field in MLS play.
It seems like one of your final.
Thoughts, Yeah from Minnesota. From the perspectives, they'll think, well deserved from the sound of this almost thing. You'll hurt just a little bit. Did most things right, but in key moments, just in key moments, got caught out and never quite could overcome that in the end, that thing for the Sounders. There's lots to like, lots of good things, but you never want to lose your home games. I guess a team contending you had a chance to meet from them in a table opportunity missed.
You lick your wounds a little bit.
You watch the film, you learn from it, and I don't think you make it bigger than it is disciplining loss. But in a free game home week you want two of them. You can accept it now, you Royal sleeeze up and you have a massive one next weekend a derby game against Vancouver.
YEP.
Thanks for everyone involved in today's broadcast. Terry Ryan here in the birth, Mitchell Bloy back at the studio, Keeley Dunning, Kevin k Jordan Thompson to Michelle Luker all a great insight on the sidelines, and of course the Sounders legend Steve Zachowani. Steve mentioned the Sounders have a week to rest now until they head back on the road next Sunday, as they traveled north on I five to their Cascady arrival and the number one team in the Western Conference,
the Vancouver white Caps. But for now we'll take a short break, Jackson felt, Pete Fewing and Kellen Rowe. We'll be back to break everything down. I'm Danny Jackson. Thanks for joining us this afternoon for mek UC pitch here at Lumenfield where it finishes sound us to Minnesota Unoited three.

The first time in the history of Minnesota United. The Loons have come to Seattle and gotten a win. Sounders now ten one and oh against Minnesota. As Minnesota have come to Seattle and gotten a three to two win. We welcome you into the postmatch show, Jackson felt alongside the player Kellen Rowe and the coach Pete Fewing. We're here for the next half hour to break down what ends up being a Sounder loss. They got two wins over the course of this nine day stretch. They got
one nothing over Dallas, one nothing over San Diego. But this nine day stretch concludes with this three to two loss. A lot to get to here on the postmatch show, but we'll start Kellen Pete by just your opening thoughts after this lost tonight.
Look, I think it was another one of our sloppy, you know, not very exciting, not great game as a Seattle Sounder, But you know, the last two games they got the result. They obviously made something happen this game. Obviously a slight rotation in the squad which we talked about in the pre game that didn't quite work out for us this time, and the guys that came in
didn't really make too much of a difference. I'd say, Georgie was the one lightning piece there and we talked about it with the own goal and this ability to go one v one, but they quickly kind of scuffed that out, like just adding another number over there and he couldn't figure that one out. So overall, pretty average performance and it just didn't have the quality at the end of the what we talked about in the last
two games as well, trying to find goals. They didn't have the quality at the end towards, you know, in our half to create anything that meant like we could score. I never felt as if we were going to win and score goals, and that is unfortunate after a good a good two games, I guess com leading up to.
This, Yeah, first off, I'd give Minnesota a lot of credit. They came in with a game plan. Jackson. You said it to me that, you know, for a team to have that kind of offensive prowess playing with five at the back, you know, they were good. They were good going forward, they were good in transition. Their goals were very good. I didn't like the penalty. I didn't think it was a penalty.
It was just big versus little, And that was a key one because that made it too nothing.
And yeah, so final pass I thought the last the seven minutes of stoppage time, in the last five ten minutes, it was there as far as energy, and we talked about the crowd before the game. Crowd was pulling us along, but we couldn't hit that final pass that I still all go back to. That near post run just opens everything up. You've got to get in front of your guy. So too many balls did fall short and Minnesota was able to clear it out.
Sixty three percent possession for Seattle.
But.
Not a lot of reward out of it.
So but again I want to give.
Minnesota credit or our organized they were. They came in tough game for them. We have had a.
Stretch now where we've played the first place, we're gonna go play the first place team. We played third, second and fifth place teams, so a lot of good tests of late.
Today we fell short.
Yep, no for sure, and I think you know, as we kind of break this thing down once again, if you're just joining us, Sounders falling today three to two to the final score to Minnesota United, who pick up their first ever win here in Seattle. And it really did come down to just not testing Daane Saint Clair enough and that Minnesota back line. Brian Schmitzer praised them all week and talked about the how he liked their
center backs. And you know, Dane Saint Claire right now is in the conversation for goalkeeper of the Year and you had two go in the back of his net. But Sounders didn't challenge him nearly enough here today as we get one good goal and then the own goal there in the late in the game as well in the what was that I don't have a minute here,
eighty third minute there. But ultimately it's that eight minute stretch between the fifty first minute and fifty eighth minute where Minnesota get three goals, including that penalty we talked about. Let's talk about that third goal for Minnesota for a second. A long shot from distance is saved by Fry. Fry gets I think both hands to it and sort of pushes it out to where Jonathan Bell is. But Olusha, who's obviously the player of this match for Minnesota, gets two goals.
He steps in.
Front and gets a foot in front of Jonathan Bell taps it into the back of the net for Minnesota's third to make it three. To one in the fifty eighth. You know, we have so much credit to Stephan Fry, and so many times it is so much credit due. This was one where I think we all kind of looked each other and said, callen boy, would be great if Stephan Fry can just corral that, not push it out, but just take that into his chest and the dive,
if you're gonna get both hands to it. That was a moment where it's like, Ah, Steph, you definitely gonna want that one back.
It's it's funny that we you know, we talk about Stephan obviously as a as a fan, as a coach, as a as a player, and now as a commentator watching everyone strives for perfection in this game. That's all we want. We want perfection and every player wants it to Don't get me wrong, He's probably hilding his head, going darn it, and he's gonna watch that thing back and make sure it doesn't happen again. That's kind of the way the player he is. You know, he has
done so much in this year. We talked about it probably being some one of his best stuff with him alongside Christian, some of their best stuff is this year they're playing right now. That one mistake, won't you know, it won't tarnish what he's done this year because it wasn't like they that really lost them the game. In my opinion, I don't think it did. A lot of other things did. But yes, of course you have to hold players accountable, and STEP's gonna be the first one
to do so. I know he's in the locker room not not enjoying that one and probably putting his hand up and saying, guys, I'm sorry about that. You'll probably belong here to speak to the media. And the problem, the problem with this is and then the one, the one thing I want to see from the other guys is, hey, why was that shot free open? And who was on the guy that got the rebounds? Why weren't you on goal side of your guy John Bell? Now I'm sitting there and I don't care who it was John Bell
do who Stu Hawkings something you do? I don't care who it was. But they have to put their hand up and say, hey, my bad too. Yep, don't worry about it. You've said us too many times, my bad too. And that's what I want to see from this team because if you have that. That's what pushes this team from it's say four fifth to now second longer running the playoffs because guys are standing up for their players.
Yeah, you nailed it.
At every point of that the shot, the rebound, Uh, Steph probably wants to either hold onto it or or push it further wide. Yeah, right, and then and then you got to hold your guy off. But that's why get up front from Minnesota has now eight goals. Right, I mean that he's in the right spot. It's a he's a big, physical, strong player, and uh yeah, he gets an opportunistic We've seen it. We've seen it with
Misofski be an opportunistic as well. So it's unfortunate and you're right, Steph will be the first to put his hand up.

Now the sun is setting on Lumenfield, and the sun is setting on this stretch for the Seattle Sounders. Unfortunately, this stretch of three games and nine days all at home ends with a loss, Seattle falling to Minnesota three too. It's the first ever win for the Minnesota team at Lumenfield. Here they're now ten losses and one win on their record. It is time for our Emerald Queen Casino Play of the match, and the really good goal for the Sounders came in the fifty fifth minute.
It's Kilani Cozar Rienzi.
Well off the top too, Dila Vega. Towards the end, Lointy goes hips it in.
Let's gold.
Scores for the Sounders.
A water response for the home team.
Sounders get one back here lerman Field Sounders one, Minnesota two.
The Play of the match is presented by Emerald quincas you know, the betting capital of the Northwest. We'll also mention that Sounders FC Soccer is presented by Providence Swedish, the official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. Well, Sounders finishing this stretch, as we mentioned, with two wins, a win over Dallas nothing, a win over San Diego also won nothing,
and then this three to two loss here tonight. It's funny because this three game stretch, all at home, comes on the back of a three game stretch, all on the road on eight days, just a couple of weeks ago. And in that road stretch, the Sounders got four points out of those three games. They got six points in these three home games. So I'm go introduce some math here.
That's ten point points total in six games. If you extrapolate that out over a thirty four game MLS schedule, it actually breaks down to about fifty seven points, which I think all fans would take fifty seven points.
Just sign me up for that at the start of the season.
But I think Kellen, you know, as we were talking about in the break, it's you know, you look at the one nothing win on Dallas, the one nothing wins San Diego and it's just you know, it's the convincingness, it's the talk about I mean, we've started two straight postcareers pregame shows by saying, well, it wasn't the prettiest game, and it's kind of about the offensive danger and you know, one good goal we heard from Kilane tonight and on
goal on the other. But it's about these Yeah, fifty seven points is great, but it's also how these wins come, and it's how.
We look in these games. Well, you know, at the end of the day, it's about the wins, right, It's about the wins, about the points, and we understand that we obviously want to play beautiful soccer. That's just how everyone wants that. But if you're winning by grinding out, then you're winning by grinding out and you're still getting the wins. So just as fans are, we are as fickle, and players are as well. You know, the second that things go wrong, we can point out the negatives and
the second that things go right. We win two games in a row and it wasn't that pretty of a game, but we won. We're like, ah, we won, It's okay, So you know, we saw the negatives in those games that we won as well, and we're just pointing them out a little bit more because they are more prevalent when when you do lose.
And unfortunately, you.
Know, we're not finding real ways to score goals. We're finding ways to get and play well. We have a lot of possession, the coach had said, he said sixty three percent possession, But possession with what purpose? Right, He's got to have some sense of purpose in there, and that's not just okay, the ball has to be going forward each time or not going backwards or keeping the ball in the back line. You know, it means the cross has to be to someone, right. It can't just
be a cross to cross. A ball through cannot just be a panicked ball through because you see one runner when that might be a decoy run, the next run is actually the one you want to play. So it's got to be just more thought, I think, more direct thought in what they actually want to do to be
more dangerous. And then the guys have the quality. I mean, I was one of those that had confidence through the Yin Yang when it came to any kind of over the top or any kind of crosses, I knew I could put it on that person's head or on that foot, and I figured I could do it, which got me into trouble sometimes. However, those guys are good. These guys are much better technically than I was, and so they got to have that confidence to be okay. I see
that run going, the second one's gonna be there. I know that the defender's gonna come in and probably block that first runner. We talk about running to the near post. Kind of bad being that decoy. The second guy's gonna be open. I can float it over and he's gonna be on it. No one's actually, it doesn't seem like from the outside, I don't know what's going on their brain. It doesn't feel like there's any direction in what they're doing. I would like to see a little variety as well.
We have not had a blistering shot from the edge of the box for quite some time. Right we had the LA game where Rothrock tatered that one. I think Christian got one their rothrocks was from the edge of the box. We haven't been striking them and I think Albert knitted, I think Christian canmitted.
I think Rothrock can hit it. Oh bit had it did have a shot today from outside the box and it was traveling. It looked like it was on target, but it was it was knocked down by one of the defenders. So I'd like to see a little bit of that restarts. I'd like to see us get something out of restarts as well.
So I'm with you.
I mean, I've been talking crosses, crosses, crosses. Let's let's get a little variety as well.
Don't be afraid to take Pereira his shot that created Minnesota the third goal from outside the box and greats to save and then Boom's in the back of the.
We talk about crosses, we have to have the runs as well, but the cross has to be you know, look at the Minnesota had had five guys in the back, three big center backs. That coach even talked, you know, Specer talked about how they had really good center backs, especially in the air. And we've got one, maybe two guys in there and one being you know, no offense to Albert, but Albert's not gonna go up and win
the header against those three center backs. You know, he's he wants the ball at his feet, and so can we find ways instead of playing that ball over, you know, to to the head. Why don't we find a way to find someone's feet and then run off that well.

Welcome back to Luminfield, where the Sounders have fallen Tonight's in Minnesota by a score of three to two. And it wasn't tonight, but this season, when the Sounders win, you'll win a free may Chick in the next day, exclusively in the McDonald's app with any minimum two dollars purchase down on McDonald's up today and check out the deals waiting for you. All right, let's take a look at what's ahead for the Seattle Sounders that will come
one week from tonight. It's another Sunday evening game. Sounders are going to be at the Vancouver white Caps up at BC Place in Vancouver. We will have the match for you right here, ninety three point three KJRFM, Providence, Swedish pre match show.
We'll start at five thirty with a six pm kickoff. Folks.
You can also watch the match on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app and listen on Spanish language l Ray thirteen to sixty for the Vancouver white Caps right now actually kicking off here in just about thirty minutes from a Stadio Olimpico down in Mexico City. They are playing Cruise a Zool in the concacafft champions Cup Final. So if Vancouver wins, their next game will be fresh into Seattle, where they could be still celebrating a little bit hungover from the celebration.
Of a Conca CAFT champions Cup win.
They would be the second MLS winners all time in the modern edition of Conca calf as we know MLS winners long ago that was in a very very different tournament.
Sounders won in twenty two.
They were the first MLS and first American winners of the modern tournament. Vancouver could be the second MLS team to win that modern Conca CAFT Championship again tonight Cruise a Zool kickoff set for six pm, and that is one that I think Sounder fans should be watching to not only see, you know, if they win, but also if they lose. They could have a hangover like LAFC did a couple of years ago, where they lose the Conca cat final and then they're hungover for a little bit.
So calata a lot on the line. Either way, we're gonna be facing a potentially hungover Vancouver team no matter what happens.
I think I was hung over for about two or three weeks there after after we won, not because I was injured, but because I was having so much fun. Yeah, you win a trophy like that, especially us obviously being the first to do it and currently still for the next however many hours, the only and we're gonna we're
gonna take that in as much as we can. And and to to Kilee Dunnings, uh, you know, where we should be rooting for Vancouver, We should be rooting for the MLS to look good, to have more recognition in the world game that we have here. Uh, we were always we will always be the first. We will always be the first, But there needs to be more from the MLS. Even after tonight.
We can still be the only American we could.
We still have so many things, but no one's ever gonna take away that we were the first ones to do it. And that's pretty incredible. So we're, you know, looking forward to the game tonight, and then obviously there's going to be no matter what win or lose, there's going to be a little bit of a hangover, just because it's is a big and it's emotional tournament. There's obviously going to be times where guys are gonna be
playing for a lot of minutes. There is a hard travel to it, but the emotion of it and win or lose it weighs on you. On the win, it's like, I don't want to play anymore. This is I'm good, right. We just won one of the biggest tournaments in our league, in our region of the world. Why would I go out and try and do it again against Seattle at home or whatever it may be. And so I think they'll be fine in that sense. They're better professionals than I was. But you know, and they lose, it's like, oh,
we did all that work. We came in early on preseason, We've traveled to Mexico multiple times, Honduras to wherever they went, and think and we all that for nothing. And so again that emotional weight does weigh on you a little bit. So I'm looking forward to see the game tonight and then looking forward to how they react to it come next Sunday.
Vancouver has been playing great defensively, the best in the league, given up only twelve goals. And so it's fun to see our MLS, one of our best teams, number one in the West, going and competing in this tough place to go and play, no question at all.
And and so yeah, I'm with you. We got to root for him because.
This is a step in the process of the MLS wants to be one of the top five leagues in the world.
This is part of that process.
You look at yesterday, PSG's game was phenomenal in Champions League final against Inter Milan.
Five could have been eight to ten goals. But these are the measuring.
Sticks all around the world when you cross over from one league to another league. So I hope Vancouver plays as great as they've been playing. And then we're going to run into a team that is at home a week from now, and you're right, there can be that celebration that you lose your focus.
But I like that Vancouver team a lot.
We'll see what kind of Vancouver team will be facing winners or losers of Conca calf once again. That's next Sunday night at BC Place in Vancouver, six o'clock kickoff, five to thirty. Pre game right here, ninety three point three KJERFM and again they play the CONCACAFT Champions Cup Final tonight this Sunday night.
Kickoff set for just after six pm. That's going to end at eight, Helen? Are you gonna?
Is that too far past your bedtime?
I'm not going because I can't. I'm all right.
Kellen's gonna head home and watch the game tomorrow because he has to sleep. I feel like I need to wear more, Lynen, but finally lost.
I need more, Linn.
Is that why you're not coming to Vancouver next week? Because your bedtime?
I can't. I can't. I didn't have any more, Lynen. It's all the dry cleaner.
I see.
That's why.
All right, we'll let you go.
We'll let everybody else go to watch the CONGA CALF Champions Cup Final. Thank you for all listening.
