The Sounders look to turn the page from last week, and they enter this weekend third place in the Western Conference, unbeaten at home this year, and they're back at Looming Field tonight looking to get back in that wind calm against Minnesota United, who have a rough history in this building, a rough history against the Sounders. But it will be a battle tonight under some light,

rainy skies here in Seattle, Washington. So welcome to the Sounders FC premat Show, presented by Providence Swedish, the official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. My name is Jackson Felts. I'm alongside Diego Audio and Seattle University's Pete Viewing. We are here counting you down to kick off for the next half hour before Danny Jackson, Steve Zakiwani, and Michelle Lugga will have the call

for Sounders and Minnesota. Michelle in case you missed last week's broadcast, as our new sideline reporter here at Luminfield and when we travel on the road. Great to have Michelle giving us scoops there from down on the sideline right behind the Sounders bench. There is a lot to discuss, gentlemen. You know, it's funny in these broadcasts we always start by looking back. We always

look back to the last game. And at a training yesterday we were able to talk to Stephen Fry and you know, I was wanting to kind of get his mentality. So the way I phrased the question was, you know, Steph, considering what happened last week, And then he cut me off and said, we're still talking about that. You know what, Steph, No, We're done talking about that. I'm done being mad. I'm done talking about what happened last weekend. It's time to look ahead. It's time

to move on and focus on what's going on tonight. So gentlemen, let's jump right into it. But scouts to the delta starting eleven for your Seattle Sounders peat, Brian Schmetzer puts out a little bit of a different lineup today due to some injuries. Frying goal. Alex Holdn is your right back. Gomez and Roti and Reagan your center backs. Kellen Row, in his three

hundred and fiftieth MLS appearance across all competitions, is your left back. Wristneck on the right, JP and Vargas will sit in the middle of the park, Chew on the left, and then Nico, your captain, will sit right underneath a Bear. Quite a different lineup. It's amazing. What a week. You didn't want to go backwards, but it's amazing what a week. Does you know? A week ago we're all feeling great going to the Portland game. We got a lineup that's been consistent. And then this is

Major League Soccer. The season is up and running now and these are the these are the things that have to happen. It's a very good lineup, but Diego, it's not the lineup that Seattle had a week ago, two weeks ago, three weeks ago, four weeks ago. Yeah, define be there. There's some changes, and obviously you know with the injury of World Weds. But I think to night's a big night for a Bear. I think he has a good opportunities as a starting nine. And then I want

to see also a Lao Chew to keep you know that momentum. Right, Hillary has five assists leading the MLS, so I do see being that playmaker. Also, Nicolao has any important test today as a Minnesota absolutely does. We'll give you the Minnesota lineup a little bit later on or a second segment

when we get to our sharp vision opponent Outlook. Now you heard that lineup, you're probably asking yourself, where are a bunch of players really quick the sounder's bench, just to kind of get this, you know, continue with with this theme. It includes Stephan Cleveland, Javier ari Yaga, Danny Lava, Dylan Tevez, Ethan double Air, Freddy Montero, Reid Baker, Whiting, Soda Kedahara, and Jordan Morris. George Morris not starting and this this is gonna be the first of a few notes here, so it's a get

comfortable. Jordan Morris is not starting because on Wednesday he was with the United States men's national team. He started, played eighty nine minutes, had that fantastic assist to hay SU's Ferrera in the middle of the park. I assist. We've seen Lao two to Morris throughout the Sounders season. Morris gives it to Ferrera that equalized the game there in the eighty first minute, So Morris played eighty nine minutes. So yes, he starts on the bench today for

the Sounders. Now, in terms of all of the names you didn't here, let's go over them really quick. Knew who is a late scratch due to illness. That is why knew who is not appearing in tonight's match. As we move into the Providence Swedish team health report, Tevez was questionable with a hamstring strain. He's in Christian rolled On questionable. He's still in concussion protocol. So Christian rolled On not available today. We'll see if he makes

it back for the Open Cup match. Expect a strong Open Cup match lineup next Wednesday against San Diego Loyal at Starfire, so we'll see about Christian for that. Now. The players out Josh Atencio still out with the right adductor string, Jacob Castro out with the left of ductra strain, and Rawle Ruy Diaz. And this is where we got to kind of start talking here.

I'll tell you that the teen health report tonight is presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders. FC beat the reason why they're missing role. As we learned yesterday in the production meeting, he has a strained right hamstring that he suffered on the very last play of training on Wednesday. He was on a program and in the very last play of that program for his training, he got hurt. He's out four to five weeks with the strained

hamstring. And you know, it's it's funny, as Brian was telling us, he scores this great goal after this amazing build up and there's celebration and rolls down strained hamstring. That's a big loss for the Sounders. When he was kind of he worked out from the previous injury. Now he's hurt again. Yeah, it's very disappointing for roles, for the team, for the fans for sure. And but that's the game, you know, it's it's this is the way the game is. As you mentioned, they're limiting his

minutes in training. They're looking at every possible scenario on how they can help protect him. This has been an ongoing injury for him. I know he's very frustrated, you know, in days where a Bear was scoring goals early on, Rowell was not in the lineup, and you could see in practice he was highly motivated to stay relevant with the staff and his teammates. So it's a tough one, but you know what it is. It's opportunity.

It's opportunity for a Bear, it's opportunity for kell and row It's opportunity for rus Neck to be on the right side of the field. And it is as the Seahawks say, the centers have adopted it. It's next man up. So it's tough for real ideas. But you know, we got Jordan Morris on the bench, you got Freddy Montero on the bench, So there are you know, reinforcements that can help us. Guys just have to do

their job tonight. Yeah, and it's reinforce me also with road Readiet scoring two goals right in the last couple of games and then with this injury, I think it's it's just also what Bran Smetter was saying, um at the end of the day, there's there's other players that can do that. Always, the road Ready is really important for the team. But even like this season, we've seen a Jordan Morey's playing us A nine and score goals and he's you know, the goal scorer for the MLS, right, and how

that connection we lead to is working. So I think there's options today we'll see a bear more us and nine really you know, seeing the ball backwards and then you know, feeding to somebody else. They're also eight in the bucks right to try to score. So I think I think that that that's a good opportunity. And then for already, yes, I would not rushed right in terms of being healthy, and he feeds like four or five weeks, but at least coming back and hopefully you know, remain healthy for the

rest of the season. And if you do the timeline, if you look at that five weeks out, the return date could almost amazingly enough be June third here in this building against the Portland Timbers. The next time the Sounders faced the Timbers. Role could could if you just look at the timing return

for that game. What an atmosphere that would be for him. But we just want role play a safe you know, be cautious, make sure he is healthy so that when he gets back he won't get hurt again, because we don't want, you know, to go down this road and there with Rale. But but that's why Roules And now now let's let's spend some time talking about this lineup. M mentioned knew who out with an illness, Pete Kellen Rose steps in. I think we've seen good things from from Kellen Ross

so far this season. Yeah, no question, And Kellen will stay home. I think he'll know his role. He's certainly played this before many many times. I think you'll see Alex Roldan getting a little higher up the field, Kellen staying and pick and choosing his times when he goes to be match fit. For Kellen to play in ninety minutes, the only way to get that is by playing games. So he's going to manage his workload. And

I think it's smart. You know that he would stay home, and so I think it's a great opportunity for Alex and Rusnak on the right hand side to get themselves forward. So you know, again, Kellen three hundred fifty games in this league. Everybody on this team knows that when they're of number gets called, they've got to come out and perform. So I'm not we knew who knew it was a lockdown boy, We have sure enjoyed watching his

evolution as a player, his maturity. We're seeing him get better and better, more mature, so it's tough to lose him. Someone said it, Mike Shawan Henderson said, you don't notice him until he's not on the field, so you'll miss him tonight for sure. But Kellen can certainly do the job. Yeah, especially being that aggressive right on the wing. But I think for you know, ken ro versatility as a player, that that's why

Brench Mats always concel him. I also want to see I mean, I want to mention Obit Bargas right to be next to Joel Paolo last season, you know, when Joel Polo got injured, he was the one who stepped up and had a you know, really good, good game. So I want to see also Obit Bargas next to Joel. He's learning a lot from from from the Brazilia. It's great in Portland. Yeah, and he was

really good in Portland and I really important games. So I think tonight tonight it's also a good game for Obt to really to really be that center of meat and you know, make some place absolutely so. And then as you all heard Leo che starting there on the left wing, and Leo Chi has had such a great start to this twenty twenty three season. Everything we've been waiting for is finally coming to fruition with Leo Chwo. It took a while,

Pete, but Leo Chi. Yeah, yeah, he didn't get on the scorebook against Portland, but as Brian kind of you know, looked back and he told us that he watching the tape looking back, Leo Chu had a great performance against the Pearland Timbers and that kind of just you know, you put the view from thirty five thousand feet together. Over this entire season so far, Chu hasn't made that many missteps and today without Morris, without Ruid, he has this is a chance for him to step up and be

a star. Yeah. As Diego said earlier, he's tied for the league lead with five assists with Niko and there's one other and so yeah, it's a great opportunity for him. The thing about Leo Chu is that he has to be confident, and Brian Schmitzer is doing a good job of building his confidence. Now this one it might be because the numbers were low, but he was going to start him as his first choice right and I think that's the thing that's helping Leo is he knows that Brian has and the team they've

got his back and that they believe in him. You know, he came in as a big splash and he didn't get the numbers diego at first. But he's on his way right now. So it's really a great opportunity for him tonight. Yeah, definitely, I think I think confidence that's the key where you said that he needs and especially tonight. And also be interesting.

Everyone hasn't ever played with Leo Chu yeah in official games that today's going to be any portnit at And they Bear said in our production meeting yesterday that Leo Chi think attended his wedding always the other way around and and like that. That you know, combination of a Bear, Leo Chu, Jual Paulo, that's a tight, that's a tight you know, a combination of those guys right there. They're friends on and off the field, all three playing together

and starting together. This would be fun to see what they can do here today. But we are just about eighteen minutes away from kickoff here at Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Louminfield Todight's count na kickoff is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the entertainment capital of the Northwest. So we'll take a break, we'll come back in preview the Sounders opponent tonight, Minnesota United. Under rainy skies here at lumen Field. Will continue with our sharp vision Opponent Outlook on the

Providence Swedish prematch show on Sports Radio at nine fifty KJR AM. Welcome back to the Providence Swedish Prematch show from a rainy lumen Field. A big day in Seattle sports, obviously, have the Mariners play next door Sounders Minnesota here and the Kraken their first home playoff game in a one one series. That's over at Clement Pledgerina. That game on ninety three point three KJR FM. It's a busy day for Seattle sports and the Sounders are just about fifteen minutes

away from kickoff here at Emerald Queen Casino pitch at loumin Field. Tonight's countdown and kickoff is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the entertainment capital of the Northwest, and it's time for today's sharp disition opponent outlook is we key on the visitors here tonight in Seattle, it's Minnesota United. They are three two and two on the year. They entered the weekend at sixth place in the Western

Conference. They started the season really really really well three zero and two, but then they've seen back to back losses at Chicago and to Orlando last week. Now, Pete Diego, the story of Minnesota really is what Minnesota doesn't have. It's their star, Emmanuel Ornoso. And and the thing about him is the fact that he just didn't show up very simply at the start of the year for camp. He didn't show up. And for them public, there's no and I'd personally to no idea where he is, what's going on.

But we know that their star number ten is not with the team, Pete, and that leaves a big, big gap. And we've seen the last two weeks of Minnesota not having their their big star. Well, the first thing is you hope he's all right. Yeah, you know, that's honestly in our world today, there's a lot of factors for players mental health, and you just hope that he's in a good spot. So um On the other side, Adrian Heath is a very experienced coach and I think he's

a guy that if that's the case, he's gonna find a way. And they did, you know, like as you said, they started three oh and two, h gonna find a way to get like Seattle, next man up. So but it is tough, you know, if you lose Nico Ladero, right, who's my player to watch today? Right, he's a glue guy. Right, He's a guy who's going to direct traffic. He's gonna calm things down, he's gonna dictate the play, he's gonna say when

to go. When you lose a guy like Bronoso, and here's the other thing, you lose him, and it's unexpected, that does put your team in a bit of flux. I remember, you know, when we first started, we had Casey Keller, we had Freddy Loomberg, and Freddy Loomberg didn't show up. And we can say it now, but you know, I remember Casey being on an exercise bike. Casey wasn't happy, right,

he was like, hey, where's our superstar? Right? And so when the big guys don't show up, it causes some you know, unsettled locker room unsettled you know, players they don't quite know. So but Hey, it's been how many games right now they're they're three two and two, so they have seven games under their belt. They have to move forward. But it is a tough loss. Yeah, and definitely, yeah, they miss him and already know so. But surprisingly they haven't been that bad, right,

I think. I think that's one of the things I want to highlight because it's a team that defensively it's pretty solid. Obviously they don't have their number ten, but I think they've been able to play better as that team and not depend on that that only star. Right. Obviously they have new Knew, a new player the Korean and in fact, you know, I just realized we didn't even do Minnesota's line up yet. Give us, give us what what is? What is Minnesota? Yeah, as we're talking,

a lot of change is a different names. So we have the day Saint Claire I was in the goal as a goalkeeper. Then line up four with DJ Taylor on the left taps box Sell and Valentine. Then the midfield has Sunny, Dutson and Ariaga, and we have bung Hockley Clague or Bungey as they call it, on the left side. The new rising star signing junk from Korea who's really good. Had his first name first game last week, Robin lud an experienced player, and then their DP Mander Guardsia on top.

But yeah, different names, right because I think because of injuries and also without rain. Also it's just being i would say, a constant movement of players. It's the lineup. It has been, it has been, indeed, and they kind of had guys in and out and Kevin Curvin rva Ariaga has stepped up. Garcia stepped up. You said, you said, Bungy Bungy. Bungy is stepped up, Louisa Maria stepped up. Each of them have two goals. Um, they have veteran players in there. So listen

to Minnesota. This will be This will be a tough game. It'll always be a tough game. I mean, we'll get to the records. The sounders of hatiganst Minnesota in a little a little bit of here on the prematch show. But but all of it to say, regardless of the record, regardless of no rain, nos, So this will still be a hard game.

It's Major League soccer. All games are hard. With that, let's move on here and I'll tell you that tonight's upon an Alick was presented by Sharp Vision, Modern Lasic and Lens, official lasing provider of Sounders FC. All right, let's move on to our players to watch. Pete you mentioned him a few seconds ago. Who is your player to watch, well, Nicole Ladero. With all the changes, they need some leadership, and they

need some confidence, and they need some direction on the field. And I think after the loss last week, you know, four to one, I think they need to get off to a good start and Nico has to pull the trigger on that. He's not running as much and covering as much ground as he has before. He's got to settle the team down, and he's got to be able to link between the back line and a bear, and he's got to be able to win the middle of the park with Vargas and

JP. Yeah, I let your choice. I was fortunate enough to talk to Nico before the game and he was really really focussed and rather it really just too short memory after that loss against Portland for me, is gonna be Ever, I think he has a really really good opportunity with Raoul ready has injured in the next four or five weeks, I think, Ever, it

really needs to show up. He did already at the beginning of the season, right scoring a couple of goals, but I think ever this this is his time to shine and he has also needs to build new partnerships, and I want to see the partnership with Leo Chu for example, to be an Albert Rosnack on the other side as well. That's a great call. I think it's a it's a big opportunity for him in these next four or five weeks to show hey, I'm right there and push Raoul because you know,

at the end of the day, competition breeds better and better players. So my player to watch is gonna be Kelen Roe. I want to come back after the break and ask Peter question about Kellen Rowan and regarding why he's my player to watch. So we'll do that after the break. We'll also get to the records all time against Minnesota as the numbers that you definitely want to hear, and we'll get to the keys to the match. There's a lot

coming up. Diego you got Apple TV, have a good prodcast. My friend A due, we'll see him in postgame the feeling and I will continue on the providence Swedish Premat Show. More next previewing Sounders Minnesota just about fifteen minutes away on Sports Radio nine fifty KJR AM. Welcome back to the Providence Swedish Premat Show from a very rainy looming field. It started raining about seven o'clock and it has just continued to do so more and more and more.

It's a rainy day here in twenty rainy night here in Seattle for Sounders and Minnesota United. And on that regard, let's go over the history between these

two clubs, Pete, because these are very fun numbers. These are very fun numbers and our project for us, our broadcast leader Keely, she was telling us it does kind of feel like any time the Sounders need to get back on track or you know, whether it's get right or whatever term you want to use there, it just feels like we play Minnesota and coming off of what happened last weekend, then that's the last time I'll refer to that. I promise you know, we really want again need to get back in

the wind calm. Great that it's Minnesota, because the Sounders are ten one and one all time against Minnesota. I'll say that again, ten one and one. They lead in goals twenty three to seven. They got two wins last year over Minnesota, a two to one win and a three to two win. Minnesota has beaten Seattle once at their home, but they have never even gotten a point in Seattle. They've never won here, They've never gotten

a draw here. They have lost every single time they have come to Seattle, Washington and knock on every piece of wood after I just said that that continues. Don't blame me if they lose tonight and it's a jinx, but listen, those numbers speak for themselves. The Sounders have dominated Minnesota now beat I mentioned in the last segment there, Kellen row is my player to watch.

So for those who are just joining us on the broadcast, we'll get to the delta starting eleven again in our next segment and wrapping up the prematch show. But knew who is out today, a very very late scratch due to illness. So just today late scratch, Kellen Rowe has to step in, Pete. You know, for your experienced coaching, when a player is told day of game, hey we got a guy who's sick or x y

Z can't go, you're stepping into the lineup. What does that do mentally and how do you how is the coach do you make sure a player gets REVVD up to one hundred when when you say, hey, you were reptical on the bench, Nah, man, you're you're starting from minute one. Yeah. With Kellen Rowe, I don't think it's a problem at all. He's been in the league for twelve years. He had a great career at New England UCLA product. He's a Federal Way guy as his from Minnesota.

Hasani Dotson is a Federal Way guy as well, so he looks at it. I'm sure he's very, very excited. He might take an extra shot of caffeine or you know, espresso or something like that to get a little more amped up, but he'll be ready. And the good thing is he knows his role. He's played left back for Seattle many, many, many times, and he's three hundred and fifty games into it, so I'm sure he's very excited about the chance to get going and then and then he's such

a good pro, he knows his team needs it. I think that's it is knew who the first choice left back starter. Yes, in a thirty four game MLS season that's not gonna happen thirty four times, call ups, injuries, sickness, all that. So I think Kellen Row will be really I think Brian probably got a hold of him quick and just said, hey, you're gonna start and he can switch it on now. It's a it's not like a kid that it's not like Ethan double Are who walks in the

locker rooms as here starting. This is a veteran player with three hundred and fifty MLS games. Not a problem, not a problem at all that that number is incredible. H Yeah, what a day for for Kellen Row and what a start for him getting three fifty. We'll take a break, one more break here on the Providence Swedish premat Show. We'll come back and wrap up the prematch show with giving you the doubt the starting eleven one more time

and giving you the keys of the match. So the Providence and Swedish Prematch Show continues next on Sports Radio nine fifty kjr AM. Final segment of the Providence Swedish Prematch Show is the rain has only increased here at blooming Field Sounders, Minnesota, just about seven minutes away here on Sports Radio nine fifty kjr am to get you ready one more time, Pete viewing. Let's get to

that delta. Starting eleven, Brian Schmitzer puts out a four two three one, Stephen Fry and Goal Alex Roldan as your right back, Gomez and Drotti and Reagan your center backs. Row is your left back on the right side of the midfield, Rusneck in the middle of the park, JP jal Paulo and Vargas on the left hand side, Chew and Nico your captain will sit

right underneath a Bear and your sounders bench. You may be listening to that lineup there for the first time and wondering where is a bunch of players? Give you the bench. It includes Stephen Cleveland, Javier ri Yaga, Danny Leva, Dylan tell Tevez, Ethan Doublair, Freddy Montero, Read Baker, Whiting, Kitaha, and Jordan Morris. Who played eighty nine minutes and started

for the United States men's national team on Wednesday. Christian rolled On still out he's in concussion protocol, Knew who were out with an illness, Josh Tensio out with the right a ductor strain, raw Rui Diaz he's out four to five weeks with a right hamstring strain. So that's situations with sounders. Pete viewing, what are your keys to this match? Well, I think you

want to get the wings involved. I think Chew we talked about keeping his confidence high, so you want him getting involved in the left hand side, Kellen Rowe can do a good job of feeding him balls. Then on the right hand side, Rusneck's got to really pick up the slack for no Christian rolled on he and he and Alex Roldon will be good together and then get a bear of the ball. We asked him yesterday, you know what's your best strength and he said scoring goals, which you like that, So get

him inside the box. And then Niko's got to play between the lines, see if he can pick off passes as Minnesota comes out of the back. And then we got we gotta win the middle of the park. You know, JP and Vargas together is a great combination. You know, this is a team that's coming off two losses in a row. As you mentioned, seven losses, no wins, no ties here at lumin Field. We have to keep them down from the beginning. It's a wet night. You want

to make it fun for the Sounders by keeping possession. That was the one thing last week we didn't do a good job keeping possession of the ball. Uncharacteristically, we gave away a lot of passes. Ryan talked about possession and patience at Portland. That has to be important tonight. But they've got to be They've got to be lethal and get the first goal. I know,

you know that's something I haven't said yet. This year. We'll set a common theme score first, right, But that does make a difference in this scenario. I guess the team that's never beaten Seattle here, well, the Sounders are wearing the one Planet kit today is MLS celebrates Earth Day around the league, and all teams are wearing jerseys made a parley ocean plastic as the kit pays homage to the ocean floor. So that is what you're gonna be

seeing today here at lumin Field, the One Planet kits. We'll step aside Danny Jackson, Steve Zakiwani in the booth, Michelle Ludka on the sideline. Sounders Minnesota Do you mind it? It starts next on Sports Radio nine fifty KGr AM. You've been listening to the Providence Swedish prematch show. Sounders FC Sucker is brought to you by Providence Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC and by bud Light. Easy to drink, easy to enjoy, Please enjoy responsibly. Now time for Sounders FC soccer. Good evening from a wet emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Louman Field Way, Your third place Seattle Sounders are back home to take on their Western Conference rival Minnesota

United. The Sounders are coming off a bitterly disappointing for one loss to the Portland Timbers last Saturday at Providence Park, but the team is ready to turn the page and move forward. Dominant at home this season, the Sounders are unbeaten in four games, scoring nine and not conceding a single goal. Minnesota United had come into Looman Field sitting in sixth position in the Western Conference, but on the back of two straight losses. Having started the season unbeaten through

five games. Their away form has been the driver in their early season success. Three wins on the road will give Adrian Heath squad the confidence they need to get a result, but for Bryant Schmetzer, three points in a strong performance is vital. Tonight, with seven wins and zero losses versus Minnesota at Looman Field, the Sounders will seek to continue this run and get back to winning ways. My name is Danny Jackson alongside Sounders legend Steve Zaqua for the

care this evening. Steve, we don't dwell and we don't want to dwell in last week's result. But what learning lessons can the team take away from that game? Yeah? I think Astby said, you know, obviously the man of defeat against that opponent is going to sting a little bit. But I think this team is built to move on. So you use that as fuel, and can you now use it doesn't become a blip. You don't

make it two games. You know what you're losing. So can they find that fire again to get back on track and showed that last week was a one off and the Sounders are still on good track for twenty twenty three season. Well, as you mentioned, the Heavens opened about fifteen minutes ago, scarves her up, but the Sounders faithful back in the stadium to cheer on their team. The Sounder's faithful down in Providence Park last week made an incredible

noise under those rafters. But here we go. Referee Amando Villareal gets us go in Minnesota with a kick and they launch it forward challenge well by Jackson, Reagan and Leo Chu back in the lineup. He continues his form on that left hand side and it's Minnesota with the team as they come in. Who mentioned off the back of two straight losses, but certainly Agrian Heath pushes his team from an emotion standpoint, they'll be fired up for this game.

As they pick the ball upon their left hand side with Long Wanne who gets the ball out to Ariaga. Oriaga possesses the ball a bit of pressure and it comes all the way back to Taps with Minnesota goalkeeper rolls it out to the left hand side, Taps on the left hand side knocks it dog Long challenged by Gay bar Well. JP heads the ball and Nicolodera picks the ball up thirty yards from Gold out to the left hand side. Leo cho tucked

into his wide left position. JP overlapping run steps over. The ball goes again. Pressure from Lud in the bottom left corner for the Sounders tries to turn out a pressure Lud wins the ball, but it's going to be a Sounders throwing deep on their left hand side and kell and Row will get to that lineup in just a minute. But Kellen Rowe left hand side a late scratch for new Hood you to illness. Kellen Rowe fills in on the left hand side, as he did so well against Sporting KC just a couple of

weeks ago. Sounds in possession, knock it around the corner, cleared again by Minnesota left hand side. It's gonna be kell and Rowe advanced from his left back position and it's Kellen Rowe with a ball about ten yards from the corner. Flack the Sounds left hand side plays the ball into Leo two got time in space, turned to the ball corner of the eighteen yard bucks well cleared by Valentine and Michelle first time, we're gonna throw it down to you.

Thanks so much, Danny. Well, obviously we all know what happened last weekend, and we all heard Ryan Schmenzer's comments following that, and it was a rough outing. And I'm gonna get to that message in a minute, but I'm gonna send it back to you right now. But Darren comes

in, clipped in and cleared by Minnesota twice. But it's gonna be Rusnack back in the lineup tonight after a week off against Poland, plays the ball in to Kellen Rowe back to goal, pressure from Valentine, clips the ball up far post, goes all the way through and thanks and Flexi Well, Michelle Will wrote back down to you to finish your thought absolutely. Coach Schmetz

are obviously disappointed in the whole team following the lost last weekend. He stead he really tried to turn his messaging into something tangible that the team could build on, and that turned into telling them that when you have any team, much less your rival down one nothing, you have to have killer instinct and really put them away. That that's the same kind of thing that happened last year after they won Champions League, talking about complacency and that true champions know

when it's creeping in how to eliminate it. So really look for that killer instinct from the Sounders tonight. Thanks Michelle, and let's get to that lineup. But Brian Schmitza several changes knew who's a late scratched due to illness. Ruy Diaz has been mentioned during the week, picked up a hamstring injury in training and Christian Roldan continues to go through concussion protocol. So Stephen Bryan gold Back four rolled on game our Reagan and Kellen Rowe comes in for his three

hundred and fiftieth game in MLS. What a incredible feed by kell and Rowe. Shao Paolo obed Vargas stay in the middle of the field, Albert Rusnack slides up on the right hand side, Nicolodero and then Leo Chew on the left and it's gonna be a bare back in the starting lineup that fills in for Ruy Diaz. As the ball goes down the line and gets collected by boxall store Work for Minnesota have been there for a number of years since twenty

seventeen New Zealand player. The ball gets clipped out on the left hand side. Steve keys to the game tonight. Sounders have to get off the good start. Absolutely. I think a fast starts important here. It doesn't always mean you need to score or just be on the attack the whole time. It's about controlling the game, and the Sounders do that when they get their key guys on the board. That's a Leadero rusnak jarpolo. If they can get on the ball early, dictate possession, get a board into the final

third, get Leo Chu out on the run. Those are the kinds of things the Sounders do when they're at their very best. So to have a good game, you want to put this in a sort of tea. The back line, especially under a lot of pressure, and that means finally the errols into job parts of rust snacks. If they can't findable early on, given a sort of time to settle, then it becomes a much more even

game. Oriaga middle of the field and Sounders territief in Minnesota shifts it out to the left hand side to Taylor the middle of the field along Money comes in twenty five yards out, takes a shot nice and easy for Stephen Fry collects it decked out in all yellow. Tonight, Sounders attacking from right to left, attacking the north end in that changed outfit tonight, it's the acid green kit for the change across the league. Sound As an acid green Minnesota

shooting from left to right, attacking the south end. Decked out in all black. It is the one planet kit that there's a celebration for an honor of Earth Day. As a Sounders flipped the ball from center a JP to the left hand side, but cut out by Minnesota Lud back to gold pressure from Kell and rode right in front of the Minnesota bench. Keller Rowe nixed the ball, but Lud maintains possession, gets out of a tricky spot. It's clipped off. We'll see No, he's going to be clipped off.

Albed Vargas slides across. It's going to be the Minnesota throwing on their right hand side. Let's get to Adrian Heaths line up for Minnesota. Daan St clairen goal a back four of Taylor boxall tops and Valentine, Ariaga and Dotson in the middle, Lud Sang, Bin Jong and Long Jane, and then attacking is Menda Garcia up front. Tapias gives the ball away. JP picks it up middle of the field, out to the right hand side with the bear, holds it up pressure from behind, but goes back to Rosneck right

channel, eighteen yards from the end line right hand side. JP cuts in inside into his left foot, finds a little ball into Rosnack inside the box. Tries to play the ball across as Rosnack, but well blocked by Taps. The new edition in twenty twenty three, signed from Pachuca, it's had a really good start. Talking to some of the Minnesota United staff, really please what they've seen out That young man of ball gets played in by Jp but cleared by Ariaga. Vargas steps in, tries to play the ball out

to the right hand site to maintain the possession. Ariaga takes it off his chest. A little bit of pressure from Ladera who goes down to the left hand site colected by the Sounders, but again Minnesota come away with the loose ball with dots and the Federal Way Natives hundredth game last week in MLS. Ball goes down the line, learn in behind Kell and rowe Or comes in tight into Menda. Garcia tries to find the backdrop, gets deflected and it's

gonna be a gold kick Steve Zaquani. But that's the danger right there because the Sounders early on the game setting into the sort of pattern. Who expect to see John Parlers getting at the bard. It's always roustnack when you give the ball away and give teams a chance scout and transition. We're learning the hard way last week and that was valentable with fantastic ball on the outside of Kellyn Rolle and Minnesota United will probably be disappointed they didn't get more out of

that. But that's the danger, especially at Lumanfield, where you're gonna have most of the board, you're gonna be on the attack, you must be switched on defensively when your teams in possession. And that's maybe something that Kennon roll yes, very experienced play out, but he's not a trained left back, so he has to really work extra hard to make sure he's cravendoor spaces,

especially when the sound is on the attack. Well, we mentioned when we before the Sporting KC again we asked Brian about having a right footed play on that left hand side. It kind of closes out the field but he also likes the fact that he can open his body up and make that switch

with his right foot. As Minnesota with Lurt goes from right to left a long one A strong powerful player on the left hand side and Sounds territory overlapped by Taylor on the left hand side, cuts it past roll darn and it's old. Ben Vargas comes to help out his teammate, but it's gonna be a Minnesota throwing on their left hand side. About ten yards from the corner. Flag thrown into long one. A comes inside and its preferred right foot

along the edge. H and yard box cleared well by JP reads the play and the sound has come away with it with Ladera tries to flick it around the corner. It gets eventually which Leo two little turn inside gets clipped by lud the middle of the field. It's gonna be as Sounders free kick ninth minute here at blooming field see El nil Minnesota nil right hand side. I think he was taken quickly open. Virgets middle the field, gets it off.

Alex Roldan nothing on pressure from behind by Taylor because it goes all the way back to Jackson. Reagan finds a little pocket of space with jpu's able to turn. Approaching the halfway line just right hand side. Channel looks up, finds Alex Roldan on that right hand side. Rusnack tucked inside from that right spot with Alex Roldan Minnesota happy to have ten men behind the ball and let the Sounders play with it. Here the banks of four solid by Adrian

to his team as the sound has moved from center to left. As kellen Road comes in on that right foot, finds Alex Roldon tucked in on his right hand side. JP right hand side, whips the ball in, try to find if they are it's knocked up in the air by boxer, easily collected by Dan Sinclair. You know, coming into the game, Daniel fourt it'd be pretty standard when you see Albert Rusnak. Yes he's starting on the

right hand side, but he probably tucking. With Alex Rodan being charged with giving the wit from the right hand side and Leo Chew on the left. That's not what s Messa is doing. It's a lot of interchanging. The last attack there, it was Alex Rodan who was an inside right position. John Parlor overlapping on the right hand side. So Minnesota United early on here having a hard time picking up and tracking these Sounders runners. Is very,

very fluid movement in the attacking sense. And in speaking with Schmidtz recently, he said, look, yes, I don't care who feels what spot. I want the spots field, whether that's someone inside who should be outside and vice versa. I'm okay with that. And we're seeing that play out today so far what Sounders in possession and the Sounders half of the field. Rosnack comes and collects it short to Yamar, to Jackson, Reagan. It was

it was a tough last twenty minutes for the Sounders in Portland. It's not what we've seen so far from that back further being so solid this year, the last twenty minutes was tough. As the ball goes over the top and it's Garcia who gets in behind Jackson Reagan clips the ball to the back post, well defended by Yamar, reads the play well, flicks it out. It's gonna be a Minnesota thrown on that left hand side about four yards from

the corner flag. But good break by Minnesota sleep and that's huge from Yamo. Look, that will make any highlight rules. But that's a gold saving header right there, because if he doesn't get there, Minnesota United have runners righting behind and we're probably seeing something flying towards Stefan FRI's goal. But again that's the danger in behind. When a Sounders have possession, Jackson Reagan, you've gotta be switched on. Minnesota United want to get out quickly in transition.

On that occasion, Yama put the fire out, but the warning signs are there. DJ Taylor ball in his hands about eight yards from the corner flag, throws it in long, defended by Yamar, headed out and cleared by Alex Roldan as the back force step up the Sounders again in that acid green change kit for tonight's game him across the league, all teams. It

was. It was funny sitting in the press box and watching all these screens of different games of every single team wearing similar similar kit and this acid green

on one end and black the Minnesota wearing for the other team. As Saint Clair knocks the ball along with his left foot, finds the learned, strong, powerful player, but keller Row does well, wins the ball, plays it to Vargas back to Gold as a bear pocket pinched by Tapias, gets tight, wins the ball to Oriaga, tall rangy player in the middle of the field. One goal in twenty twenty three against Chicago and they're two one loss. It's the last away game, losing last week at home to Orlando,

but it's boxall New Zealand. Play out to the right hand side to balance him. We know him well from his days in Portland. Plays the ball inside to Dodson down the channel, the right channel, and I know him well from his days at akron. I led his recruiting visit. Actually, when Zaik came to visit us in akron I was when I took him around. It's been a good night, good night. It was a great

night, he committed. You did your job. Ball in the middle of the field with Ladero tries to find the ball through the middle, but it doesn't find the Sounders player and it's cleared by Minnesota, but given right back to the Sounders with Alex roll darn back to Jackson Reagan. Sometimes Stevie have those games against Poland. It's as good of a learning lesson as anything when you have a bit of a capitulation. But some most experience on this team

to bounce back. Yeah, there's no bigger test than that, right going down to your biggest rivals, and the Sounders were very good for sixty five minutes. It just all fell apart after Spas goal, and these things gonna happen. You take it on the chin, and the key is do not let it become two, three, four games slide. You want to nip the end of bud right away. And the best thing about is you get a home game right after that, a chance to really come out the fans

behind Drew and you get a big three point tonight. We forget about that game and then you just you circle Potland nothing. You'll be back here in June. You keep that in mind, but don't allow that defeat to define your season. Saunders of the ball flicked around the corbay, get there, but close quickly down back to pier, says Minnesota come away that senor circle

would learn plays the ball into jong middle of the field. The acquisition, the two point five million dollar acquisition from Wolves, and again reports out of Minnesota say that extremely excited to see what that young man has to do this year. But the four goes out to the left hand side. It's where you want from Leo two attacking the outside back double team. And it's a free kick given by the referee top left hand corner of the box for the

Sounders. But see that's what you want from Leo two, attack that defender. I love them, I love that. I listen. If I was to get into Leo Choose, I'll tell him do that every single time you have a chance to board one D one. We don't care if you lose the board. If you lose the board up there, you're at yards from gold. We have all the guys back kids to defend, take chances,

forced mistakes, win free kicks. And Leo Choose starting very well here so far, continuing his recent good foreman justifying why Brian Schmidz and a courting staff having so much confidence in him lately. So it's a free kick left corner of the eighteen yard bucks, about twenty two yards from the end line. Albert Rosenack with his right foot, but his Nicolo Darro with his left foot steps over it. Rusnack whips it in with his right bounces up. Nothing

given by referee. It looked like a graze of the arm, but the

sounds that possession with obed. Vargas comes from center to left. Albert Rusnack comes back on his right foot Switcher play all the way across to Alex Roldan on that right hand side in Minnesota Territory defenders back up, both switched all the way across the Leo Chu takes on his chest defended by lond It's gonna be a corner kick Sounders remains nil nif it's a good start by the sound and say, a good start, not necessarily creating or generating a ton of

chances around the bold, but pretty much in control. The threat from an asault is in transition, but branch mets andy start will be happy with the way his team started here today. Corner kick Sounders left hand side Loogdaro outswinging corner, goes short to Rusnack, straight off the plank to the training field, try to get it back, goes into the middle to GP corner of the eight your books back to JP overlaps the run but pounded out by Minnesota.

Goes down the line to Menda Garcia, who tries to hold it up, but well played by both Rosnack and Vargas come away with the ball. Garcia closed, the bull down played, the outside of the foot well played by the Sounders and tight areas cleared by Valentine all the way down the line and Michelle, we're gonna throw it down to you. The crowd deck down in green rain Max for today's game. It seems a splattering of those green Rainmax Oh absolutely, I grabbed them for myself too as soon as I had

it down here because the rain was not expected tonight. But the Sounders fans have shown up in droves, which is great, especially given what a busy Seattle sports night it is in our area. That this place is still packed. You can feel the energy, which is huge because we were talking to a bear during our production meeting and he said that that was a big part of their game plan for tonight is to feed off of the home crowd.

Thanks Michelle. Well. The home crowd was enforced last week down in Portland a couple of hours early under those rafters. They made a heck of a noise. But certainly for any team coming up when they got support like that, whether it's at home or away. A lift ship's Minnesota with the ball in their hands down the left hand side, it goes to Menda Garcia back to backing into gaymart But it's cleared and it's La darrow Is left foot,

brings it down nicely, flicks around the corner. Ladara middle of the field, plays the ball from the middle to left to Leo Chu about twenty five yards in the endline attacking. Valentine again whips it is. It's a good lucking cross punched by say to the top of the box. Alex Holgun flicks it over the top. There was a chance the ball stuck under his feet. He couldn't get it out from underneath him. Could be a goal kick. Yep, exactly right, Danny. But first of all, and excellent

again, the old two really really good. Every time he faced up to Zarek Valentin, Valentton doesn't want that problem. He's backing up, backing up, corning for help, and the old two showing that you don't always have to beat a man if the space is there. Getadi crossing does a great job. And I just felt antull Gun hesitated. He hesitated, took his

first time and he got stuck under him. Took a second one. By the time he got to the third time, he's trying to chip the gorky play doesn't ex cute well, but another good attack from the Sounder is there. Nadero's doing an excellent job releasing glil too early on here. Sounders FC Soccer is presented by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. As the ball gets cleared, it's gonna be a Sounders throwing right on the halfway

line, left hand side with Kellen road goes into JP. No real pressure for Minnesota. They're happy to drop into two blocks of four. As the ball shifts from center to right, Yaymark crosses into Minnesota territory, plays the ball down the line, Sounds pick up loose pieces and it's Ober Vargas in a similar territory as he got that assist from Ruy Diaz in game against Poland on the right hand side, comes inside to it Rosnack outside the foot top

of the box. Kellen Roade got time and space, tries to play short there, doesn't get there, but the Sounders find their ball, but it's gonna be rolling out of play, but it's well played by actual Downlong wanted trying to let it go, but it didn't and it's the Sounders right hand side cleared eventually by Minnesota, but long Wane try to let the ball run

out of play. Alex Roldan nipped around the corner saved it. It's gonna be a Sounder story in five yards from the corner flag on the Sounders right hand side, ball in the hands of Alex Roldan goes into Ladera. Sound has maintaining possession. Littlebed Vargas goes all the way back to Yamo, flicks the ball inside to GP thirty yards from Gold comes back to the right hand

side, open Vargas. It's a ball into Rusnack got some time and space, just finds the back foot of Ladero, but it goes from center to left all the way out to Leo Chu the left corner of the et yard Bucks no real pressure. It to Kellen Rohde twenty five yards Outflix to the back post while defended by long Wane. Saw the run of Alex Roldan as it bounces back up, but the sound has come up with the second ball again maintained pressure on the Minnesota goal right hand side now with obed Vargas,

so it comes inside. Nothing on eleven men behind the ball from Annesota depending the top of their box. Well, Leo Chio tucked inside from his left side position, whipped in by Bladero, easy for things Sinclair. Twentieth minute means Seattle nil, Minnesota nil. And the sound is just now beginning to really settle into the groove again, not creating a ton of chances here to

really test them in a sort of goalkeeper. But branch Menser would have want to come into this game and he wants to see this game played in the attack at half and that's what's happening the amy again. It's something they're recovering every board. The counterpress is really good keeping, really good possession. I think the positioning has been spot on so far. This spots Kennon Rolls taking

alextrodn Minnesota all over the place. He thought a vol is coming, Well, it's the right hand side Alex Roaldana at time and Space whips it into a bear as well, played by the Sounders. Again, it worked its way from left to middle to right. Alex Roaldan drives the ball into that spot between goalkeeper and back line, but cleared by Minnesota. But it's gonna

be another Sounders corner kick on their right hand side. And that's exactly again Alex Rodn getting into the Ta is the runners is the position the sounders are taken. I mean I saw Unite having adapted jet. They're not sure who to pick up. And again I get a feeling here the Sounders are knocking right on the door for this opening gold jp right foot clips the ball all the way to the back post. Ladera good volley strikes it well, well

blocked by Jean. The ball gets found to Garcia's foot, but pockets picked by Obed Vargas gets deflected off a charging lud. But the sounders are gonna pick up and it's gonna be Steph friend Fry decked out in all yellow tonight there's the sounders are in that changed uniform Acid green. We've seen a couple of color changes for a home kid. We've seen Bruce Lee out here, We've seen Rave Green, now Acid Green. I thought we've hardly seen a

Grave Green diseason. I did Bruce Lee and now the Acid Green. So I'm sure Rave Green makes way background innocent. You understand why, you know, teams are different joys and things like that, But there's something about that Rave Green hit at Luman field. We're not getting that to that, but I'm sure we have plenty more game diseason. We're war see the river look down the outside. Jong the acquisition from Wolves, clips the ball in and

Yamar right spot, right time. But all it can do is headed out for a Minnesota corner kick on their right hand side and Steve it's in transition the Minnesota dangerous and that's the danger on this right hand side, especially getting balls in behind Kelln row runners, and they're doing a very good job getting guys into the box as well. So far, Yamar has single handed he stood torn with the clearances, but that's the dangerous ball form Minnesota this right

hand side. In transition, Jean with his right foot on their right hand side, it's gonna be an outswinging corner kick and it comes center of the box, but defended well by Jackson. Reagan heads the ball clear to the Minnesota right hand side is Jong picks it up, looks like it goes out, but he doesn't. Comes inside, finds Ariaga back to Valentine on the halfway line, tries to play the Diaglo ball from right to left, challenged by JP offside flag goes up free kick remains an equc pitch, a looming

field, Celnail, Minnesota Nail the twenty third minute and the Sounders. It's been a rock solid season so far. Steve overall, defended well, attacked well, many players have got starts, a lot of good minutes for the players in the squad. I think defensively it's been very impressive, especially here at home. It's definite fry onwards and you always say, you know,

it's not just the back line, it's the whole team. The way the Sounders have defended all the season long has been really, really good, which is what made last week's collapse all the more surprising. If you just don't see a team as good and as well organized defensively as a Sounders guilt the tap of goals they gave up, but this is a kind of game where you can prove that's a one off, that's anomaly. We're not like that. Let's get back to who we are and so far, with the way

Yamar started the game, the sound of the shape. Defensively, it's been a lot more of what we're used to, and so I think, yes, attacking wise, Jordan Morris, some of the guys getting all the plauded, but it's not forget stef and fry, Yamon Jackson, Reagan to punish if they've got up. Been very solid defensively so far this season with JP middle of the field maintains possession with pressure from Garcia. Keller Rowe comes back.

Saw in practice yesterday he was lights out and shooting. Hit the crossbar I think four times, then get one in saving it for tonight. Hopefully he had a big smile in his face. There's a late scratch from knew Who today due to illness. Keller rode back from injury a really good start again, supporting case back in the lineup today on that left hand side. If the sound has maintained possession in Minnesota half for the field, JP middle

of the field out to the left hand side. Road getting more involved on that left hand side than we're seeing with knew Who. But Minnesota come away with it. With Lud back to goalie's Garcia tries to flick it around the corner, well defended by Jackson. Riggan slides the ground, but it's Minnesota come away with it as it trickles out of bounds on the Sounders left hand

side. Neil Neil here brain continues to come down a little lighter now than it was, but siding on turf, Steve there like the little bit of damp gets the ball moving quickly. I always lighting his games as an attacking player because you know, it's a little bit slick and probably caused a few more mistakes defensively. You could gamble a bit more. You know, bouncing boards and things of that nature on his turf can be very hard to deal

with defensively. So if you're Leo Chew and a bear and rusting that up there, you take a chances. You know, anytime the boards played through a bouncing board, can you sort of gamble and see if the defender has a hard time dealing with it. With JP making things tick in the middle of the part to Ladero out to the left hand side, Leo two gets his head up and tries to run again be positive. A bear top of the box tries to play the ball in to Chew gets cut out well by

Minnesota. Minnesota standing strong so far of countless sound as pressure and it's jung on the outside, got the legs on Jacksonagan continues to go right outside of the box, well defended by Jackson, comes back top of the box. Dodson strike defended and saved well by Stephen Fry, but looks like Jean goes down. Is they have pulled a little muscle on that run, takes his shimpad off sits to the deck. But see another example that transition plays.

He's been impressive. Johnny has been very, very impressive so far, the way he's getting out into the attack. On that occasion day he showed Jackson Reagan a clean pair of fields. And Reagan is not slow. He reminds me a lot of Chad Marshall, who you think they can't run, but he always seems to say step with step with really fast attackers. On that occasion he was beaten quite well. There should be a massive blow from Minnesota United. You hope he's not serious. You never want to see good players

get injured. But again it's this right hand side in transition that's where the dangerous for Minnesota. Well, as soon as the ball went off his foot, he dropped to the ground. It's never a good sign. We're looking at some action on the bench. Subs warming up with a bit more further now and they were before all this coaching staff age in, heathy and fuller on their feet and to figure out what's going on. As we mentioned, Jean was signed in March from Wolves a two point five million, had a

really good start. He's got its thumb up, seems to feel like you can get back on with it, but the Sounders get it underway. This copyrighted audiocasts a Major League sock and may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebroadcast. The ball goes down the right hand side with Alex roll Dan to the top of the box, sliding by the Daro is a good break by the Sounders on the right hand side. Adero to the box, slid in bar goes wide Innesota gold kick and that's going to be on all day.

Alex roll down because yes, for the most part, Albert Rusnak will stay on the right hand side, but he'll come inside. Rusnak is much more comfortable centrally or anytime he tucks in, that's an invitation and a green light. Finlex roll down to provide a whidth on the right hand side, doing a good job there. The final board maybe a little bit quick and in the air and tough for Nicoladero to deal with. Right away, but it does one on the pitch. You can't turn that half chanced into a really

good chance to Isigonadero. But now Occasion couldn't hating the target just dragged his shot way well young back on the field, sitting in that number ten spot. The ball goes long from Saint Clair finds the lood with a couple of bounces to his chest, goes back to dots and pressure by Ladera comes to

loud little back. He'll well played by Minnesota. It's gonna be Minnesota throwing right in front of the Sounders bench on their right hand side again, Minnesota shooting from left to right, attacking the south end, decked out in all black tonight in their Earth Date kit as the Sounders knocked it out with pressure from Vargas second start in two games for Vargas, first assist for his career

last week against Portland as Minnesota clip it out of bounds. But it's gonna be a Minnesota throwing to eventually by Lindero, ball back in play, Minnesota not hanging around trying to get the ball in play. Attack down the left hand side, it's Ariaga flipped around the corner by long wanning out to Taylor on the left hand side, little wall pass, trickles over the end line, gonna be a Sounders gold kit remains nil nil, and the sound is

they're doing well defensively. Minnesota United beginning to the last five minutes or so, find a few more passes, a bit more possession, which is normal in his game. You can't dominate for nineteen minutes, but the Sounds on that occasion not really given up any base and Minnesota United run out of room and it would take some extremely intricate passing to break down that kind of shape. So rash Monster would have expected that. Adrian. He normally does build

good teams who are able to play food line as well. But the Sounds defensive organization was impressive and a lot of time gave up. Bullet his feet crosses into Minnesota territory, tries to play from right to middle, tries to find it bare. He's going to roll out to the goalkeeper. Saint Clair Sinclair played at Maryland. Was a twenty nineteen draft pick Canadian international his first season where he got his starting spot, was an All Star in twenty twenty

two. Was actually an MVP in that game in Minnesota back in twenty twenty two, so great started his career as the ball goes all the way back to a goalkeeper on the opposite end of the spectrum and stephan who, as we know, surpassed Oursi Alonzo with starts for the Sounders and surpassed me all the last week for saves as he sits in lone fifth in MLS standings with

one thousand, one hundred and forty saves coming into this game. An incredible career by Stephen Fry, and if you talked to him, Steve, he's got many years left of play. Yeah, it's one of those guys who

just seems to get better with age. You know, there's very few goalkeepers I will trust more in MS at this stage in between the sticks and Stephanie Fry, he's been fantastic since arriving in this club and someone again whose career I thought a very closely same draft class and all of that, but he's gotten better and better with age, a massive, massive presence in the locker room and truly what a signing he turn out to be from the club.

We had no idea really that he would come in and step into this great tradition of really good goalkeepers, which in the MLS era was started by the great Casey Keller. Ball gets clipped down the line. Referee is looking to see if it's an advantage. He's got to call it back. It was JP who got a soft passed back, cleared his lines, and it was Ariaga that came straight through him. It's gonna be a free kick for the Sounders. We'll see, Steve if referee Villarey Al's gonna go to his pocket

book and pull out the first yellow card of the games. The jobs over Toriaga, what the word potentially with the central midfield player. Yeah, I just got to look at a replay here. I don't think it's a yellow. I think there's a tiny bit of follow through. But Ariaga was trying to put out there was as job Parlo swunk his right boot, momentum took

him into ariagas have a word with him. But I don't want to see yellow card for that, because you're gonna see a lot more of those challenges as a game goes on, Sounders fall in agefold Dan's hands right hand side about the thirty yards from the end line, goes back to JP find some

space us at top of the box, attacking top of the box. It bare inside the box, gets his pocket pinch cleared well by Minnesota and they come out with the second ball from aheaded by Game off his long one e opens up his legs but tackled well by Vagas, slucks along one in his tracks and sriak it flicks the ball to Taylor on that left hand side. Good ball. It's a jung middle of the field, but again trat well by Vargas. Defensively tonight, I've been solid as the sound has come away

there on the left hand side. Leo Chow. Something going on with Leo chu is the bowl is something in his eye. The sound is maintained, possession, take a little look. Game stops for a brief second. Michell, we're gonna throw it down to you. Something on Albert rose Nack. Yes, yes, Albert roos Knack obviously starting tonight. And we've been talking a lot about how there was a lot of changes in tonight starting eleven because

of some injuries and whatnot that the team is dealing with. But this is the perfect opportunity and the perfect player to point this out with that every moment these players are on the pitch. It matters because unlike previous years, Brian Schmenzer's really going with best players are playing, doesn't default automatically to more veteran

players on this team. And he was telling us earlier that Albert's really been feeling the pressure because of the reason success of some young players like Leo Obed and Josh and so this is a great opportunity for him tonight and for a lot of these players that are getting the start in the absence of others.

Thanks Michelle. Yeah. Rosnack came into the sound as a free agent in twenty twenty two, played alongside a number of players Vargas JP, before injuries took those players out to play a different role at RSL, played a different higher line. Goals and assists is what he's known for now. It's about possession and leadership, finding his role in the Sounders and in a really great

acquisition since the beginning of that twenty twenty two campaign. But Sounds pick up the ball to Rosnack tucked his side on his right and side rolled out high up on the right hand side, advanced from his right back position, comes back to JP right corner of the box whips it in first time, cleared by Poxlll but only into the eighteen yard box. Two picks it up little header to Kelly Rowhose inside from his left back position, but loses the ball.

Pocket pinch by Minnesota is his lud on the halfway line. Comes back to long one eight. Now this slow the game down and maintain some possession, but it's Minnesota left hand side with lud. Finished player rangeing tall and great acquisition for Minnesota over the years. Knocks the ball down the line to

Long Jane, who gets cleared by Jackson. Reagan follows this man clears the ball, but it's lud left corner of the box to Jean left corner boxes should should again and goes out for a corner kick Minnesota thirty fourth minute here at e QC pitcher looming field remains nil nil cit Taquani. Yeah, and the game just sort of died down in terms of intensity and the speed up player we saw early on, which is not more. It's necessarily a bad big but as the whole team, the Sounders you do want to see just

pick up the temple a little bit more. Let me see Leo Trugua at valencing in the last twenty minutes or so, Alex rod duns for raising to your tax, slowing down a bit. This will suit Minnesota load of Sounders into more of a slow, methodical game when it can get in transition,

make it about pieces. And it's in the transfer him right here, John with his right foot on the Minnesota left hand side in twing corner kick and it comes high, long to the back post, goes all the way out, bounces in the eighteen yard Bucks goes out for a Sounders goal kick. Two balls on the pitch. Sefferent fire triers to get the game going. I feel he certainly feels that the tempo needs to pick up by the Sounders.

We need to get it bear in the game. But the ball goes down the left hand side now with Leo Chu and that's more for what the Sounders need transition from back to front. The Ladero picks up the ball to throw it in and we always know when the ball is in Ladero's hands from a thrown and he wants to get the game going, move it quickly, pick up the tempo, try and find this opening goal without ten minutes ago.

In this first half, there's the right hand side, Alex Roldan into it Ba being quiet so far but two goals in his first two games back in the starting lineup again after being out injured and a couple of substitute appearances. Caleen Row left side in front of the Minnesota bench, goes into Leo two little flick around the corner, maintains possession, goes past Valentine, goes

square into rolled down who's center of the field. Took way in from his right back position because Leo two follows his run, goes all the way out to the right hand side as an option for Yaymar and maintains possession with JP

right hand side into Minnesota territory, but given away by Yaymar's Minnesota. On the break, Jackson Reagan reads the ball well, clears it only to Minnesota, who pick up the ball with one warning top of the box, goes all the way out to lud right corner, comes inside his left foot, strikes it low but easily collected by Stephan Fry, but again warning signs Steve Zaquani for Minnesota, and that is but that was I've praised the Sounders positioning

in the attacks so far. On the last attack, The reason why became stagnant in the Sounds run out of my ideas is because positional the addex rolled on and Rusnack both came inside and there was Norwich on the rund side. You have to read those situations better. This is much better I'm seeing right now. ALEXH. Rodan's nice and wide Rusnack. Yes, you can come inside. It can't be both wide or both inside. Must be one or the other. The last attack, when they lost the ball, it allowed

Minnesota to get out quickly transition and it's what they're waiting for. Sitting in a low block, pick up the board, try to run, make something happen. So the Sounders in possession just make sure you're filling all the right spots, holding width, stretching that backland, forcing them to create gaps centrally that the likes of abear the dare or even from a deep position, and Rustnack can make runs into the spaces between the right back and center back,

left back and center back. Things like that ball clad high and long by Minnesota with Sounders initial attack, but to Jackson, Ago gets it from Steph friend Fry as Yamar flicks it all the way back and it's Jp right hand side as he enters into Minnesota territory, maintains the ball at his feet, runs forward, plays the ball out to Alex Roldana has had a high starting position so far in this first half. Is Jp right corner of the box. I was to sign his left foot flicks to the back post. Nothing

aren't easily collected by Saint Clair and Steve. It's that final delivery so far. It's first half and it's what's been missing. It's was this missing because the team started well getting into the attack and earlier year you're not just focused on only on generating chances. Are you getting into the right spots? Are we getting into positions where we can be dangerous? That happened now the next step is when we get there. Can we force goalkeeping too saves? Can

we force defenders into last ditch tackles that's been missing so far? That final piece and if things remain as they are, that'll be a big focus of branch Miss's halftime team talk. Is this raise our quality? In the final foot loose headed by Yamar, finds a long one at top of the box, tries to find a little slick pass into mender Gas here, but it's gonna be Minnesota with Dodson tries to flick the ball in but easily collected by

Steffron Frighten. Either goalkeeper really been tested so far as the sound has come away with it. Leo two flicked around the corner. Valentine jumped in, but Leo two escape the pressure, escape attack the left hand side. It's Ariaga comes across to help his teammate, deflects out for a Sounders throwing. But again we've seen that with Leo cho over the last few weeks when it gets that little flick around the corner could open those open up those legs.

Yeah, he's an exciting player to watch him, really is. Ball comes in box, Salt clears the ball, eventually hooks it long and high. Keller Rowe cushion headed down the line to Leo Chu. It's gonna be a Sounders throwing their left hand side thirty yards from the corner. Flag ball in Keller rose hands comes inside to Vargas or ball into Leo Chow stands up, ball into Ladero so Vargas left hand side flips. The ball in comes off

Fountain. Sounders corner kick. It's better because sounders have been at their best when there's multiple runners into the technic spaces they're playing quickly. That's when they're trouble in a sort anything else. It's actually suits him in a sort of button when a sound of the plink quickly beginning, they're on the ball. It's looked pretty good. Ladera left foot, left hand side out swinging corner kick and it comes defended well by Boxel, but it finds Rusneck left corner

of the box, goes inside to Kell and Rowe. Vargas ball at his feet goes back to Rusneck. Left channel comes inside his right foot whips it in bouncing inside the box, eventually collected by Ariaga. Tries to go around JP top the box, strikes it well defended by Tapias. He blocks the ball with the ricochet, finds itself to Alex Roldan, who comes back with it to Jackson Reagan. The sound is good pressure towards the end of this first half as Week enter the fortieth minute, but given away by GP in

the middle of the field. It's Vargas who goes to ground, doesn't win the tackle and it's Ladder comes away with it with long Wanny opens up his legs into Sounder's territory inside left position. We shot on the left hand side in support, flicks around the corner to long Wanny finds the ball in.

It's cut back in. It's a venture clinic shot over the top. It was a chance by Minnesota on the break again, ball from left hand side gets itself into the eighteen yard Bucks finds itself to Joan about sixteen yards out, blazes it over the corner for a gold kick, and we're in the forty first minute. Seattle, Neil, Minnesota, Neil Michelle flow down to you. Yes, the site we don't normally see in the first half.

The bench is up and warming up to kind of maybe allude to what you and Steve we're talking about, kind of the slowing down of the momentum here. Really the shift that we've seen in the last five minutes of Minnesota really getting back into the action. I think head coach Brian Schmitz are sending a message that, hey, if you're not pulling your weight out here on the pitch, we've got the guys warming up and ready to take your spot at

the break. Could be just because the weather and perhaps he wants these players to get extra warm before the second half. But I think there's a little something more to it, guys, Thanks Michelle. Rosneck skips by a couple of players, clips out to the left hand side, Leo chewed down the line and look down it towards the end, Life flicks it around the corner,

goes hits the side. Denny's gonna be a Minnesota gold kick. But again, that's more of what we want to see from the sound is it was quick break in sights, it play in the middle of the field with Rosneck eventually finds itself to Ladero. We've seen him in so many good spots this seasons delivery. It's been so good. He sits on five assists with

Leo chio at the top of the MLS standings coming into today's games. The back of four straight assists as Minnesota clip it from right to left with lud tries to switch the point of attack and defended well by Alex Roldan as that trickles over the far sideline on their Minnesota left hand side, ball into Oriaga middle of the field, now maintaining possession. As we entered the forty second minute out to Valentine Kamar Lawrence missing today after starting the last couple of games.

Valentine steps in as Minnesota, but the Sounders deep blocks defended well, pick up the pieces and the Sounders come away with it. No options on for JP as he opens up his legs, feels the pressure from John and John will learn Steve that JP and the experience of Lada, they feel a bit of pressure. They're gonna go down. Yellow card for John. Yeah,

but that's the right decision there. He stopping a counterattack there. Excellent from job Parlo had no options, had to run with the ball and carry it, and he knew what he was doing, waiting for the pressure to come in, get his body between the man and the board and feel the little nudge go over. Now John has to watch himself on his final few minutes of this first half and then the antaged on the second half. As

long as CP on the field. But you just feel that the sound eat a bit of a lift something, he's wiping, a shot from distance, a big tackle, an amazing dribble, something to get this crowd going because at a moment Minnesota are pretty comfortable. It sounds, yes, look dangerous probing, but aside from when they're playing quick and getting Leo Jew into the attack. Minnesota United in Adrian Heath, they'll be okay with this. So

you just need something to a spark to get the crowd going here. Maybe it's a job Parle or bomb from thirty yards or so, another Leo Cho dribble, but between inched towards half time. The way this game is settled, it's suiting a lot more what Minnesota want than what the Soundest want. What Saint Clair and the Minnesota goir, that's it really been tested so far. Clicks to a couple of crosses, but the real penetration of the Sounders

so far as they're trying to find that opening goal. Sounders due at possession with Rosnack, who's pressured well by Minnesota. They come away with it with Dots and middle of the field to look, flick around the corner to Joan closed down by with Vargas and Rowe. John Mintie's possession comes back to Boxhall on the Minnesota right hand side there send it back, comes into Dots and

Federal Way. Native plays the ball to Joan, but pocket picked by the Sounders now we're there, plays the ball down the left hand side, Leo Chu has some time and space. As he gets towards the end line head up, clips off Boxhall and trickles into the arms of Saint Clair as he falls to the turf to kill a few minutes. As we get into the forty fifth minute, here Seattle nil Minnesota nil nine fifty KGr am here in downtown Seattle, equc pitcher loubin Field, Steve I felt Leo cho settled there

in that moment there you're one view one the halfswine. You're not drive drive into the ball. It's forced Valentied to make a decision. If he has to make a challenge, maybe you get foul, you win something. But in the nafol when Leo two slowed down, he just gave me a sort of chance to get back and he settled a little bit there to build him

out. And that's an opportunity and the sound has got to getting more out of When you get Leo two in the open field like that, you really want to get at least something on gold all goes into a bear back to goal given away, though uncharacteristic by a bear. It's been a lot quiet so far on this first half, but Ladera picks the pocket of Ariaga. Here comes the Sounds trying to flick it over the top, and Saint Clair

backs up and clecks that ball. Ladera saw goalkeeper its line trying to chip him, doesn't quite get over it and clares a big boy and clects that ball and the extra mile first half stoppage time. It's gonna be one minute.

That's referee Villa Reale see out this game. But it's Minnesota with Garcia looks to play the ball inside cleared by Alex Roldan, but ball popped up in the air and dots and cushion heads are Lud on their right hand side, close down by kell and Rowe. D clips are through the legs of Kellen Rowe closed down well by Vargas, goes off Lud as it trickles over the end line for a Sounders goal kick. Vill referee Villareal is just gonna take a second, is gonna see if it clips off a Sounders player for

a corner kick. That's what Minnesota are arguing. Nothing given. Stephen Fry will continue forward to see out this first half. As Jackson Reagan has the ball in possession on his left hand side, rolls the ball out to kelln Rowe in front of the Sounders bench and there's the referees whistle to end. This first half is a kg first half, no goals at the break. Stevir thoughts on what we've seen so far, so so so so, I

think the Sounders would have won a bit more. Was a decent enough start, and then the game just sort of slowed down and it loud and we're waiting for that sparks. So the good news is it's nil nil. You have another forty five minutes to really come out the game. Store debt to be one by thinking it a bit more from a bit more from rusnak lel Chree has been maybe the spark, the highlight, but just not enough on Saint Clair and Hi Minesota boat. He's a too easy of an afternoon desk.

Got change. We'll take a short break, Jackson felt Pete fume. We'll be back to break it all down at halftime. Here at EQC Pitch at Lubin Field. Its sounds nail Minnesota United nil. You're just a couple of minutes ago, a bit of a different first forty five minutes than we saw in Portland last week. Yes, two teams that are a little bit conservative, not willing to make mistakes. Minnesota's very happy to sit back and try to counterattack and see if they can find Garcia, you know, on a ball over the top. But you know it's been

Seattle's had one shot on goal, Minnesota's had three shots on goal. I like how Seattle's playing last week before the Portland game, Brian Spencer said, and we said this in the pregame, possession and patience. We're seeing a lot of that today, less giveaways of the ball. I think, oh, b it's been really good in the center of the park. With JP Alex rolled On, the tactics are a little bit different. Alex rolled On is almost the highest player of the field seventy percent of the time. They've

got Gomez Andrade and Jackson Reagan are playing very wide. Kellen gets a little bit more forward, but then you're seeing roosneck slide from one side to the other. Alex is trying to make some runs in behind. So they are trying, but Minnesota has got a fortress in front. They're kind of a block of four, block of four. It's a good it's it's kind of a KG game. And you know see how I has not given up a goal here at Loumin Field yet this year, and I don't think they want

to do that now. But it's been an interesting game. We'll see how the second half goes. We'll see if some subs. It'll be interesting to see if Jordan Morris gets on the field at halftime, because a Bear has not been great. A Bear has not found really the rhythm and he's not been able to get up higher and we haven't gotten in the service. So I think Brian will be okay. But they've got to raise it for the

second half. I think that's the most interesting thing is the adjustments to come in the second half, because you mentioned it right there, Danny Men it right before the break, very kg and there hasn't been many you know, I've been taking notes, you know, throughout the first half. Not many

notes to write down a big moments, big chances. Yet I think we're waiting for, you know, the classic Jual Paulo banger from thirty yards out that he always hit Skins Minnesota. We're waiting through one of those moments. Let's just see if that comes Sounder fans. Bud Light was grew to be a delicious and easy to drink beer. Bud Light, easy to drink, easy to enjoy. It is zero zero between Sounders and Minnesota second The second a half of our halftime show starts next on sports radio at ninety KGr AM. Welcome back to the halftime show from lou Winfield, Seattle, Sounders

Minnesota United even at zero here through one half. This copyrighted audiocast of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, it reproduced, or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer. Very cool moment just happened here at Luminfield. We have the crossbar challenge. If you've ever been to the Sounders match, you know at halftime there's the crossbar challenge. A little kid by the name of Lucas couldn't have just by a base him my eyes off of couldn't

be more than twelve thirteen years old. He just hit the crossbar. Stadium absolutely erupted. Looks like Toyota donating him just over six thousand dollars to Ray Foundation. It looked like a fantastic moment. Everybody was chanting Lucas's name and he hits the crossbar. Very very cool moment Therapete viewing. But looking back to the Sounders, they don't want to hit a crossbar. They want to get a ball in the back of the net here in the second half.

Taking a look at their bench as we talked about there in the previous segment, Javier Ariaga, Freddy Montero, Read Baker, Widening, Stephen Cleveland, Ethan double Air, Danny Leva, Soda, Keta Harta, Dylan Tevez, and then the guy you mentioned, George Morris. He played eighty nine nutes for the United States Mends national team on Wednesday. Pete, what do you

think he can give the Sounders today? And then when does Brian Spent pull the trigger and put him in. Well, I don't think it's at halftime because right now we don't see him out on the field at this moment. So I think he'll save him for maybe the last thirty and I think that's good for a Bear to get his chance. It could be Freddy Montero as well. I think this is one of those coach goes with his gut feeling. You know, he might not want to use Jordan because of the flight.

It's Arizona. I think is where they played Mexico on Wednesdays, so not a big flight, but they might just you know, they might be a little gun shy with Ruy Diaz, you know, having the hamstring so and you don't know how Jordan is feeling, if he's banged up at all, so we'll see what he does. But I think they want to get some firepower. Could be Tevis, although Tevis has been coming off his own

hamstring injury. He may have been the replacement for new who So but what needs to like, what adjustments need to happen to get a goal in right Well there, Minnesota's doing a good job at getting a block right in front of the goal, and so they're gonna have to move it quicker, change it side to side a little bit. You know, you mentioned JP getting his shot. He had one that he took from deep he got blocked. You could tell by his re sponse he thought it had a chance. So

I think they've got to get their shots off a little bit more. Get the flanks. They're not getting to the end line and cutting anything back. I don't expect that on the left hand side so much, but I do expect that more on the right hand side with ross neck and rolled on so and then get a bear the ball inside the box. He his first touch has not been great, Nico. We had hoped you'd be pulling a lot

of strings. Hasn't been pulling as many strings. So Seattle has the possession sixty eight to thirty two, so they've got to do something with that. It's not just about on the ball. That's a great point right there, and we'll see how these stats end up at the end of the game, hopefully with his Sounders win Sunators as he Soccer is presented by Providence Sweedish officially healthcare partner of Sounders. F Seed, Danny Jackson and Steve Zakiwani in the

booth, Michelle Ludca on the sideline. They will have the second half call of Sounders in Minnesota zero zero right now. We'll see how it ends. We'll be back to the postgame show. But second half starts next on sports Radio at nine fifty KJR AM. As the players get ready to kick off this second half, the sound us with the kick decked out tonight in the

Acid Green one Planet kit. They'll be attacking the south end, shooting from the left or right as referee Philareal gets us going in the second half. It's nil nil. Heret eqc pitch at looming field between your Sounders and Minnesota United. No goals in the first half, Steve, what does the team have to do in the second half to get things going? Yeah, I think the Sounders have been mostly okay. I think one thing the Sounders can do a bit better. It just forced the issue a bit more at times.

You get around the box a bit too cute, too intracrupt. No let one flight from distance forced to save, forced the back line to have to come out a bit more dynamic movements. Everybody's seen Abt running in behind. Everything's been back to Gold. I think you have to make the Minnesota

back line see different things. They saw pretty much the same thing in the first half was Bard in front of them and the only sort of in behind Fred at times was Leo two either bit more than that second half and then the Soda with the ball on the right hand side, throwing down the line, Jackson Reagan steps in front, clips off Jackson Reagan. It looks like and yet the linesman's gonna give a corner kick. Kellen Row chase it down,

trying to play it back to Stefan Fry. Assistant referee points to the corner flag. It's going to be an early Minnesota corner kick, and as we said before, in the first half, Minnesota seemed content to drop in, win the ball in the middle of the field and then break in transition. It's gonna be Sean, who's been lively in the first half, the two point five million dollar acquisition from Wolves in England. With a corner kick on their right hand side. Outswinging corner with his right foot, arm up,

ball comes in. Yemar clears it out with his head. There's gonna be a Minnesota throwing on their right hand side. John's gonna pick it up. Looking to line up a long throw in here about eight yards from the corner flag, does a little jig, backs it up again. Two comes in high and long. Challenged by the sounds, It bounces in the box, then she cleared top of the box, goes back to Taylor on the left hand side inside left spot. Tries to flick it ball Diacle to the

right hand side. It's keller Row cleans it up from Jean finds JP tightened the going a cake. It's gonna be a sound as goal Cake and Michelle, we're gonna throw it down to you. I believe he spoke to Brian Schwetza coming out of the tunnel. I did. And while there were no changes of which players are on the pitch for Seattle at behalf, there were some changes to how the formation is shifting out a little bit with Christian not

in currently on the right hand side. We're gonna see obed up a line with Albert back with JP to really emulate how Christians style of playing, trying to see if they can get something going on the right hand side. Thanks Michelle. Minnesota. With the ball in that left hand sided long one eight, little one two around the corner. JP comes across, does his defensive responsibilities and clears the ball out, but it's gonna be a Minnesota throwing quickly

in play comes back to the left hand side. Ariaga had a powerful and dominant role in that first half in central midfield along Federal Way native Hassani Dodson that the ball shifts from center to right back to Voxhall captain as he goes back to Saint Clair next town. All Bluers Sounders wearing acid green Minnesota and all black. Saint Claire knocks the ball along with his left foot range play all over the over the top, and it's Jacksonagan who cleans it up,

flicks it down the line. It's going to roll into the Minnesota bench from Minnesota throwing, but Steve, it's getting out of the gates early for the Sounders. Again in the second half it is and branch Minnesota. He's tried his first hand, which is making a little for me tactical switch. Vargas Communist right hand side, and that's not foot to play it as a winger. He still will be tucking in a lot. It's just to allow Adds roll down even more room to run to run on the outside, but it

does get a roost. Next the job PARTLS or two of your four experienced players in the center midfield, could you start to win that battle? Turned and tight a bit and of course great on the option of the bench Jordan Morris and Freddie Montero. I would not be surprised to see eva one of those two coming in the next ten minutes or so. Well for the Sounders, Let's give you that lineup. As Michelle said, no change in personnel,

but tweaks to positional play. We'll see how that evolves in the second half, and it's Frank Gold back, fourth, Roldan, Yamar Reagan, Roe Vargus and Chao Paulo. As the Sounders pick it up and win the ball with Alex Roldan goes from censor to left, Leo Chio left center, comes back when its right foot cleared by Minnesota. Will finish up that attacking three of Rosnac Ladero, Leo Chio on the left and then ed there up

front. As the ball goes down line Leo two us in space inside the box, cuts it out, turns the corn and nothing given by the referee. Assistant referee puts his flag up offside on the Sounders. It's going to be in Minnesota free kick. It remains nil nil here early in the second half, fiftieth minute see how nil Minnesota mil. I'm just curious here for the Sounders if and when rashmister does go to his bench, Jordan Morris his

woman up pretty actively. The most likelihood is a straight soft for a bear who's obviously been out this up time. Hasn't quite fucked us been in a game so far tonight. And then I would think we'll seem on Terror's right at some point and if things remain the same, do you go to two

up top you movie or two out? So Smid's has some options to do, but something has to weapon because the game the Weights made right now it much more suits minsorta united in the Sounder Sounded to be playing fast to getting in behind making things happen. Yet to see that, and so these are a kind of game when you go to your bench to the finder spot or go to the center to write with JP cut out well by Taylor, as Alex you all darn chases the ball down, it's gonna be as Sounders throwing

right hand side about six yards or so from the corner flag. Sounders right hand side in front of the south end, as the Emerald City supporters bouncing up and now and trying to get behind this team get something going, some energy to the eleven players out in the field, But it's the Sounders who trys to cut it back. Given away cheaply and it's Joan middle of the

field back to goal pressure by Gamo. Sounds put pressure, but eventually it's Tops who's going to clear the ball to look flicks the ball to Garcia, leans into Jackson rig and free kick for the Sounders. The ball goes down on the deck. As you mentioned, Jordan Morris on the bench tonight, coming off a really fantastic performance for the US against Mexico, tops the MLS leaderboard with eight goals so far, come out of the gates flying this season.

His highest goal tally was twenty and sixteen. Of course, with twelve goals, it's already two thirds of the way there. They come the Sounders center of the Parkers Michelle mentioned Albert Rusnak took much further into a central spot far Gas sitting out on the right hand side. As Minnesota come away with it. Garcia holds the ball up, drops it off well to Lud who goes all the way out to Jean on their right hand side into Sounders territory.

Keller Row holding up overlapping run by balancing and it's Lud middle of the park cuts the ball to Joan top of the box double tea by the Sounders both Reagan and JP, and it's the Sounders to come away that Leo Chu left hand side to the morning Ladera. He gets it to his feet, cuts inside Albert Rusnak's showing eventually gets him a deflected pass clipped the back post as Ladero on the left hand side inside the box, cuts to his right

foot, plays the ball to Leo Ju. It's at tackle. It's two players on the ground because Tapias, who came across red the danger closed the ball down. Well, it's gonna roll over for a Minnesota gold Caper Lee or two still in the decks the Zac. That's more likely from the Sounders. Their good right to left movement to pass from Rusnak to Ladera was fantastic

and away Nicole the board down. Nice piece of skill. Debts up cut inside Buddington and yes, Neil Chu, it's a great chance and she a six shard box Therege doesn't get good contact, a little collision between him and him and as a United defender there but there's no found in that. But much much better missile sounds Aboutcasion. It's nice to see this inner play, players coming in, players going out at that time with Ladero and two came

in, Ladero went out of the outside. We've seen that certainly work over the last few games. Ladero coming into this game with five assists back of four straight assists, the ball goes along by Minnesota Jong chasing the ball down. Eamo reads him well, lays the ball back to Sefron Fry. No messing around by Fries. He launched it forward headed out of bounce by Dots and it's going to be a Sounders throwing on their left hand side with Kellen

Rowe into Rusnack pocket pinch. But sound has maintained possession with Alex Roldan and Rusnack sending alongside JP now Vargas and the more advanced right and side position. The more shifts from right to left switch are played by Alex Roldan, but it's picked up by lud As he comes in close down by Chew step over and it's a long Warne who clips the ball in the insiders for twenty five yards out easy saved by Steve Friend and Fry in the end, but another

good break by Minnesota. But I think something missing from the Sounders game so far here in the first two starts, where we saw Abert Blay who was very good at holding a ball up, linking up allowing guys to join him into the attack, we've not really seen that He's had sixteen touches. Only when we see Rudias play, we say he doesn't need touches, just get him a chance. It's not the same for Aber. He needs to be involved in a game, part of the build up, holding a ball up,

linking up. We've not seen that, and that's a big reason why in the final third it just hasn't quite happened yet. Did his function has been there. We've not seen laderol to Abit hold up, get job part into the game. The sound has got to find a way to get there. Brazilian forward at number nine involved a lot more in his performance Minnesota, with tail on the left hand side, clips at the back post, bundles over Kellen Rowe pre kick given by Villareal. Let's give you the lineup for

Minnesota. It's Dane Saint Clair in the gold a four two three one by Keith's Taylor Foxel Tapias and Valentine Ariaga and Dotson in the middle of the field and attacking three of lud Geng and Long Jane and then Mende Garcia as the number nine up top as the Sounders have the ball at Steven Frice feet decked

out in all yellow. Tonight, as we mentioned the sound is an acid green one Planet kit as all games tonight with MLS are in that changed one Planet kit Ocean plastic celebrating Earth Day as the Sounders have some possession now again, Minnesota dropping off content to let the Sounders have the ball at the feet of their central defenders. As Jacks A. Reagan plays the Rusneck knocks it down the line to a rewarding Alex roll Dark trying to get involved in the

play, and it's Vargas strong play. It was Oriaga's should on the shoulder, but as you mentioned yesterday with Brian Argus has put on some some bulk in the offseason. Looks much stronger. As the ball goes through JP top of the box. It was a quick shot with his left foot sliced off. His foot goes out from Minnesota gold kick remains nil nil. I don't mind that from job Pardo there. Yes, he had to rush his shot in the end. It goes wildly wide with the left foot, But you

need something, and I think the sounds. I can't remember a shot from distance that really troubles st clear something that sometimes that's what it takes. Until they do that, they've been a sort of backland. It's extremely comfortable. Everything's happening in front of them. They are times a few times the sound has had dangerous It is when there's been an hid behind friend primarily or to

a couple of times I begle and the arrow but just not enough. Through the course of fifty five sixty minutes or flock ball goes along by Sinclair, won by Yemar header, the box all finds itself to Menda Garcia, but Yemar picks the pocket and gets failed on the halfway line. But as you mentioned, Steve, Sounders had six shots in the first half, Minnesota seven shots. But the difference in the final third. The Sounds had one hundred

and five passes in the final third compared to Minnesota's thirty six. So he's taking shots when you have the opportunities you mentioned as the Sounders. Now in that attacking third with vartgas, the ball goes down the line to the end line, it's Alex Holland clips and it's Headba gets in front, deflects off. The Minnesota defender goes out for a Sounders corner kick, and that's better

from the Sounders. It was quick insightsive play on the right hand side eventually found its way into the eighteen yard box and he was at bearer took a shot, deflected corner kick. It's Ladero on the sounder's right hand side, left foot in swinging corner kick, but it goes short. It's Alex l darn right corner the box. Actor Rusnak, who's in support right hand side,

flicks it in. It's a header by Leo Chu eventually trickles over the end line for a Minnesota gold kick remains Neil Neil here at equc pitcher looming field nine fifty KGr AM so we see some action on the sideline. First substitution for Minnesota. It's Louisa Maria. Then number nine, who's gonna come on? The referee shrugs his shoulders, not quite sure what's going on. I think the numbers on the board were wrong. It's a slight delay here

as they try and figure it out. There's the correct numbers. Number twenty eight. Mende Garcia comes off. I think it was number nineteen that went up first, and AM was a bit perplexed. But a Maria comes onto the field to replace like for like for mende Garcia as Minnesota have the ball with Saint Clair. It's a gold kick decked out in blue with his left foot looking long. The Garcia came in the game with two goals, but Ameria, like for like, replace him up front, also two goals on

the season. As the ball goes long as it flicks off Vargas a Maria's first touch, it's a little drop too long. Warning on the left hand side, left corner of the box comes back pressure from both Vargas and Alex roll down. Good pressure from roll down again to long Wanning. No no room to maneuver. But it's gonna be in Minnesota thrown on their left hand

side. It's gonna be Taylor, who shifted from the right backspot to left today because of a missing Kamar. Lawrence Valentine, former Poland Timbers player, stepped in to replace him on the right hand side. As he has the ball, now plays the ball and short into a Maria back to Gold, but the sound has come away with the ball down the left linetan side. Sounders FC Soccer is presented by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC.

But Steve as we approached the sixty sixtieth minute Seattle, Neil Minnesota, Neil wats Brian Schmittzer thinking that changes as we move forward. Yeah, it won't be long until we see Jordan Morris. I can't imagine the only factor will be just Jordan himself, how his legs feel, you know, probably took a couple of flights. We got some minutes, you know for the US national team, so you don't want to put him out then overplaying.

But this game needs something and I think a good measuring stick for the sound of sort of drop off in intensity is in the first ten minutes, how Leo Tulor's exciting and valencing felt like keeping for a very long evening. It's been quite comfortable for Valentin since then. He hasn't really been ran out, he hasn't been turned on the corner. He hasn't had to run towards his own board anywhere near as much as before he might. And that's just a

good side of the sounds. Not quite been able to find that spark offensive spark. In the final foot Keller Rode plays the ball into bare back to goal side the box left hand side, holds it up, drops it to Leo Chu flips it into the box cleared by Boxhell, but finds itself at the feet of Keller Row knocks it around the corner. Boxhell comes across, clears the ball, who was an Chy passed by Kelly Road trying to find Leo Chow and Jackson. Reagan doesn't mess around, doesn't take any chances,

knocks the ball out of play. Minnesota thrown but sound As fans. As Sounders have possession on the right hand side in front of the

Minnesota bench. As Minnesota drop off Lewis a Maria the sub Famenda Garcia. It's a little pressure on Jackson. Reagan plays the ball into Rusnak, who's playing more central in this second half, getting involved on the ball alongside JP.

Switches on, but it goes to JP finds itself to Yama crosses into Minnesota territory with his right foot, cuts the ball back to jp head up looking for options, plays the ball short to ladera flick around the corner to Alex Roldan, plays the ball down the line, but but Vargas challenging the ball. Assistant referee puts his flagger offside Minnesota free kick Steve Zaquani and the

sound is here. The change from Vargas hasn't really worked out yet. Obviously, he's being a little bit of our position, trying to recreate what Christian Rodan gives them, which is very good in behind running a great connection with Alex Rodan knowing went to overlap, underlap, those kinds of things. Hasn't

quite worked out here. I understand the logic behind the move. Let's move Rusnak back into a central role next to Jple's dominant the midfield, which is happening, but still in that final third is where it's been lacking today from the Sounders, which hasn't been a problem all the season long, especially here at Louman Field. So that's been a bit of a surprise that they haven't really found that sparkt in his game. But all it takes one moment.

It takes one moment one piece of magic, one mistake and the game turns out. It said, well, we know the team has got that ability. The Bear two goals in his first two games as a sounder and got injured in practice, missed a few games, came on a sub, most recently against Portland, but gets the start tonight. Been a little quiet, but supplier has been somewhat light to the rest of the team and some like a bear. As he spoke yesterday, he thrives off that delivery in the

eighteen yardbux that's where most of his goals are inside that eighteen yardbox. As a sound is now defending Minnesota, who at the ball left hand side with Taylor comes inside to long one as lot active so far in this game to Dodson maintains ball inside the center circle. Pressure from the Dara now pressure from

Chew goes all the way back to Saint Clair. No options available outside his box with left foot clips it from center to the left and it's going to be Kellen Rode picks it up for the Soundles flick around the corner by Ladero, but well spotted by boxall and now in transition from Minnesota, lud on the right hand side top corner of the box. Lud top of the box twenty five yards out, goes across to long Wanni left on side of the

box. Inside the eighteen. Pressure from ob and Vargas goes back to Oriaga. It's Minnesota now, I've got some sustained pressure in the attacking third with Taylor back to Oriaga looking for options. Sounds standing strong, but it's Leo Chu good spot. They'll flick to Ladero pressure from behind, but gets out of trouble. Well now it's Rosina, got some space, opens up his legs, plays the ball square to Leo Chu and the attack for a moment

slows down as Minnesota get more men behind the ball. It's Ladero now, and it's those terms of transition Steve, where the Sounders need to put the foot of the gas. Yeah, I'm surprised the le Choose movement there. As soon as Ross Knight picks up, he's gotta get on his bike. He has to be going right away. Lel Choose slowed it down going the Sounders furthest player forward and once he slowed down, the whole move slowdown.

You have to get runners in behind. It's the way football works, especially modern day football, where teams to slow, wet organized or to unmanage them. It takes a lot of good off the board movement sorely lacking in a Sounders play so far or goes down the right hand side, it's gonna trickle out of play. But as we look down from our advantage spot, we see a couple of substitutions for the Sounders. It's a twelve and it's a

thirteen. Jordan Morris, after eighty nine minutes or so for the US national team, comes on for Obed Vargas. A bear comes off for his after his first start, and it's gonna be Freddy Montero, the number twelve, trying to add to his gold talent for the Sounders comes on, and we'll slot in from like for like, So Vargas comes off, Jordan Morris playing on the right hand side, Freddie Montero straight swamp for a bear through the

middle. As the Sounds maintained possession, Michelle, we're going to throw it down to you after those substitutions. Yes, I just spoke to assistant coach Freddie Warez who tells me kind of the thought process behind those two subs. Obviously on the right hand side, were bringing Jordan Morrison. They're looking just for some more speed on that right hand side. As for a like for like Freddie in for a Bear. They just wanted some fresh legs to get

things going here in the sixty seventh minute, thanks Michelle Yep. As we mentioned, it bears third start the season. It's been a little while since he came back from his hamstring. He was great performances by Jordan Morris, who were d has two goals in two games before picking up an injury this week puts him out for a number of weeks. A brunch Metz had mentioned

in his scrum yesterday. As the ball goes from center to left and it's Leo Chu pulls it down well with good pressure from Valentine, but maintains possession of the Sounders. Kellen Rowe comes across to Alex Roldana pinched inside middle of

the field from his right back spot out to George Morris. The Lord one v one opportunity comes inside in his left foot, cuts it to Alex Roldan and the Darro who shifts from middle to right to Alex Roldan to Ladero again tucked inside now from the right side position back to Gamer Minnesota leven men behind the ball defending well. So far Saint Clair really hasn't been tested this game, but Sounders are prodding and prying and trying to find that opportunity to open

up the deadlock. Here as the ball goes down the right hand side with Ladero well defended by Taylor, slides out and knocks it out for a Sounders throwing on the right hand side, just a few yards from the corner flag. And it's gonna be Alex Roldan who's gonna trot up, collect the ball in his hands, look for options. Jordan moy is showing short the Daro

now holds it up with pressure. All goes to Roldan into Jordan Morris got some time, comes back to Yamo in front of the Sounders bench, goes square inside to JP head up now out to the right had side to Jordan Morris deep on the right hand side. Pressure from long Wanning who's back doing

his defensive duties from his outside left position. Kellen Rose took way inside from his left back center of the field goes to Ladera, tries to find the ball in behind to Montero defended well by boxall pressured by Montero, but finds ball finds itself to A Maria who gives the ball up and it's Rosnaka picks up the second ball well dark tucks inside right hand side out to Jordan Morris comes in on his left foot, flicks around the corner, but couldn't find

Laddera, who was flashing across in front of him. Ladera maintains his spot on the right hand side, now stays wide, ball in his left foot, looks up, comes back to JP. The sound is now getting good series of possession here in the attacking half of the field to try to find this breakthrough, so it remains nil nil here at e QC pitcher looming field.

Sound is now middle of the park with roll down out to Jordan Morris hugging that right touchline comes into Russnecks center the field, but back to Jordan Morris trying to find those pockets of space of the sound as given up by Montera A long one it comes away with it. A Maria is Jean who tries to clip the ball on the outside. A Maria drops it off to lud center of the field center circle, crossing to sound a territory. No

real pressure carries on. The ball is long one in left hand side, got some pressure, cuts the ball back well played by Yama, sees the pressure comes across. An assistant referee puts the flag up. It's going to be a sound as free kick. As we see more action on the sidelines for Minnesota as Fragga Pani the experienced player. Fraga Pani and Yama played together for a season of so in Argentina. He comes on the field and it's Jean who comes off his As we mentioned, he was a new signing in

March, just getting his legs underneath him. Not fully match fit per the Minnesota staff, it's gonna be fragger Party who's gonna slot into that number ten? Rold see in the seventieth minute Neil Neil Sounders have made their moves. Now what do you expect the next twenty minutes? A little bit more urgency and again where stage of the season where a point is not the end of the world. But when you point into context, we happened last week. You know, you use a home game, you want to win your home

games. It's a Western Conference opponent. Those are the moments where you've got to find a way to win. And we always say the sign of a good team is even when you're not at your best, can you find a way to win. Branch Speil has got the players out there that he believes we're most to take him to victory. They haven't created chances. Saint Clairs. That's such a comfortable evening. So I'm still waiting for Russ Nan, Good, Joe Polo, even Nicoladero from distance pull the trigger, start to

force things, to make things happen. And I think as the game go on, we'll start see the Sounders forcing an issue and they'll be ordered to happen. Failed by GP, He's gonna be careful. He's on a one yellow cut away from suspension. Jumped in there. Referee just goes over, has a little word as you mentioned Steve Sounders. Yes, they dominate possession with sixty eight percent of possession, but one shot on target so far.

There's as Minnesota's four shots on target and shows the type of game Minnesota playing tonight. In transition, they've been good in transition and they've had some chances on goal, but it remains nil nil here at EQUC Pitcher looming field nine fifty KGr am. The ball goes into Fraga party the substitute for pressure out of it by Rsnack and it's Montera now so good with his feet technically so strong. The ball goes back to Stefan Friday and momentary grown from the crowd.

I think they getting a little restless. You see something special from the sounders, now something don't break this open, get the game going, Steve, Yeah, you get a feeling he's gonna take a special Woman's gonna take someone out of the under pitch to take this game with a scruff of the neck and decide to make a difference in that moment. Alex well down right

hand side, is this a moment? Ball comes in along the six yard box and it covers everybody and Leo Cho recovers, cuts it back off the end line on his left hand side, head up, coming back to Kellen Road tucked in clips the ball to the far post. Jordan Morris challenges Saint Clair. Ball bounced out top of the box and it comes out to the right hand side. Now back from well down to JP flicks it to the

back post away by boxall and it's Leo Chou who test the goalkeeper. Then that was a good shot by Leo Chu, but he maintains possession off the rebound flicks it over the top. It's Loud who comes away with it. Fragapani tries to hold the ball up at the Sounders get a corner kick on the left hand side. Remains Leil Neil Steve Zaquani, and that's why it takes Leo Choo's shut their spec in a tive, tough angle. He gets

something on target. Now the crowd flowing, they're awake way if something happening, Sometimes you need that lift from the crowd to push you over the lane. Ladero outswinging corner kick with his left foot comes in defended well by Minnesota. Fragapani picks the ball up and now it's in transition and it's long warning opening up his legs. It's got a two verses one but the Sounders eventually pick it up at Ameria gives the ball away. It was a chance for

Minnesota, but now the sound has come in transition. Ball comes across from the left hand side with Ladero tries to find Saint Clair and falls to the ground. Certainly not the first time he's fallen to the ground below of time management. Stevens, Minnesota trainer, see this game out even though we've got twenty odd minutes left. Yeah, well, they'd be happy with a point. Come to human field. If you leave you over a point, we're

happy to take that back with us to Minnesota. So I think you're going to see the Sounders pushing more and more, Minnesota trying to slow the game down. If they get something in transition, you're sure they'll take. But they are more than happy with things as they stands Minnesota with the ball center circle, Ariaga out to Valentine, who plays the ball all the way out

to lud finish player into Fraga Parni the Argentinian. As he goes out to the right hand side, ball down the line, Fraga Pani closed down by Jackson Egan Well and it's deflected out from Minnesota throwing on the right hand side about twenty yards from the corner flag. As Valentine picks of that ball in his hands, looks down the line, closed down by Kellen Rowe and it's

lud back to goal well played by the Sounders. Kellen Road clears his lines, challenged by Montereyo wins the ball in front of boxall good strength by Montera, but eventually nudged off the ball and it's Minnesota come away with it with tapis the new signing in twenty twenty three out to Taylor left hand side to long Wanne who had a chance on the break just a few minutes ago, wasn't found by a Maria, but it's a the snic Dotson switch of play

from center to their right hand side, Minnesota now maintaining good possession the Sounders third of the field as the Fraga pante top of the box defended well by Jackson, O Reagan to Keller Road flicks down the line but given away cheaply by the Sounders as Minnesota maintained possession thirty yards from golf centered the field with a snic Dotson out to Taylor with Dodson and Taylor again maintaining possession. Then

left hand side Fragipane turns the corner but well defended by Alexwell Danba. It's long warning inside the box top of the box and it's Dodson and an Ariaga ball bouncing around, eventually cleared by the Sounders. Can they break with it? Is Ladaro foul by Dotson. As the Sounders get the ball in play and underway quickly as they try to seek out that opening goal, It's remains nil nil here between Seattle and Minnesota United and EQUC pitch a looming field on nine fifty KGr am. It's been a KG game so far. Sounders now makes some moves. Jordan Morris on the field, Freddy Montero on the field. Russneck slid into a more central role alongside JP as they try to find that opening goal.

And it's Rusnack with the ball center to left as Ladera just trying to find pockets of space moving from left to center to right. The ball goes long headed clear by Taylor, but finds itself to Alex Roldan on the right hand side flick down the corner long one. He sees the game well, defensively

does his job. Tries to play the ball from Minnesota left, which are played well won in the air by Kellen Row over lud there's going to be as Sounders throwing on their left hand side, has two balls come on. The referee looking for a substitution, as Sounders aren't gonna make it. As the Sounders get the ball in play with JP middle of the field, Sounds now trying to find those gaps, but you'll sound as FC will appear in the third round of the US Open Cup April twenty sixth at Starfire Stadium,

versus San Diego. Loyal sc watch the match on the bleacher Report Apple bleacher Report Football YouTube channel and listen on l RAY thirteen sixty am in Spanish. As we get in the seventy eighth minute here at looming field, sound As nil Minnesota ninety nil. It's Sounds in possession top of the box, grows that got some time in space, looks try and shoot, curls. The ball deflects top of the box, well closed down by both Dotson and Taylor,

but it rebounds to Jordan Morris on the right hand side. Clips the ball in the box, heading clear by Ariaga. It's gonna be Sounders throwing on the right hand side four yards from the corner flag. Sustained pressure now Steve trying to find the opening goal and that's probably the first time we've seen Albert Rusnack really leave his number six rold and joined the attack and you want

to see a bit more of that. He gets into the final third, a couple of one twos with Nicholas Ladero and the Sounders have a couple of bats and the apple there couldn't quite make anything stick. The branch Meissa throwing his last play out there as we watched. Dylan Taverns replaced the old true here he's just over ten minutes to God plus stoppet Dylan Tevez on the fields for Leo chu Another good outing by Leo chus A. Sounders have the balls.

It comes in top of the box, Albert Rusnack strikes it into golf. Fantastic strike from eighteen yards out by Albert Rusnack opens up his account for the season and boy did they need that one. It's Sounders one Minnesota Hill and that certainly lifted the crowd. It's a fantastic finish. Listen, it's not been a great game, but any stretching imagination, but the Sounders do have quality out there and all they need. Sometimes it's an opportunity and when

it came Rustnack's way. He made no mistake. It's a long throw in. Montera's a great job with a flick them Rusnack right side the d at the top of the box. The technique is perfect, knee over the board into the bottom corner. Saint Clair no chance. Sounders won new up and Lumanfield has woken up. Well for the Sounders, they needed a little bit

of magic. They needed one of the big time players to step up in a big time moment, and Albert Rusnak did just that, opening up their account for the Sounders tonight and now Minnesota gonna have to come out the gates to try and find that equalizing goal. Lost the last two games that do not want to make it three on the trump. But for the Sounds, so well timed, well played goal, and it was Albert Rosenack who stepped

up, putting the bull in the back of the net. As the bull goes down the line, the game off cleans it up, played by Stephen Fry As Minnesota come out with the second bull in sound as top of the field with ducks and flicks it to Fraga. Ponni clips it around to game on nothing that it's gonna be a free kick, Michelle, We're gonna throw down to you. Let reaction on the both the gold and the substitution absolutely

coming. Right after that substitution, Jordan Morris slotted over to the left hand side, so Vargas is playing over on the right now, and so really take advantage of Morris on the left hand side. Obviously the bench exploded off

that goal. It obviously kind of caused a little bit of confusion. A great moment for Albert, especially as we were saying earlier in today's match that he really was feeling the pressure of really not getting the minutes that he wanted to so far this season, and so here he is taking advantage of that opportunity. But yet again, the Sounders now find themselves up one nil and now try and close it on out. Thanks Michelle. As the Sounders now

defend, a free kick is left of center twenty five yards out. It's Ariaga lined up with his right foot. We'll try and curl this over the two man wall of Ladero and Rusneck. The ball comes in, goes over the top Sounders gold kick remains Sea out one Minnesota nil. Here at equc pitcher looming field, Steve Saquani. And now it's about game management. How quickly can you shift your mentality into closing this out. Yes, if the chance to get a second board is there, get gold number two, you

absolutely go for it. Aside from that, it's about board retention, keeping the board, playing the board into the channels, making past run onto it, Joya, Mauris Montero in a tempers they're gonna have to run to really relieve the pressure up. And it's a chance for the second is there, take it. But right now the sound is a do it enough to up to three points advantage given by the referee. As Jordan Morris comes inside from his left spot. Now, as Michelle mentioned, is gone from right to

left. Tevers are shifted out to the right hand side, but it's Alex

Roldan right channel comes back to Rusnack, scorer of that goal. So really composed, finished driven into the bottom left corner from the top of the box and the Sounders now, as Steve mentioned, just managing the game, managing some possession and as Alex Roldan in front of the Sounders bench goes to Rusnac find GP who turns with the ball pressure from Mariaga, but steps away, looks for options, Freddy Montera dropping off, trying to find an angle for

JP, but he goes back to Jackson Reagan and JP goes all the way back to Steff and Fright, who stands outside is eight in yard box and retains possession for the Sounders on JP's feet, goes to Montero, checks in back to goal, plays it out to Rusna, now into Minnesota territory right hand side, rolled down in front of the Sounders bench, gets it back from Montero. Options available. Minnesota now need to find that ball, need

to find that breakthrough to get the equalizing goal. But the Sounders now Montero twenty five yards out top of the box, left foot strikes, the ball goes wide. It's gonna be a Minnesota goal kick. But Steve shooting from distance is something that the Sounders should try and test the goalkeeper. Now it is and we will now see the Sounders playing that intricate passing, the trying in the first off and now it was at Temple. Now there's movements,

there's off the ball running. Montero's helped of that, Nadaris getting higher position. You can see why Rostop was pointing to the center. So the last fifteen minutes or so has looked a lot more like a Sounders performance that we're

used to seeing, and Minnesota now under rops a little bit. The Sounders, yes, would love a second goal to kill it off, doing all the right things to see it out one new as it is as we approachaired at eighty fifth minute of the game's Minnesota have the ball, but pocket pinched by the Sounders as they come away. That Fraga parte stays on the ground. He got his ankles clip, but the Sounders come away with it left

hand side. Jordan Morris, left corner of the box, flicks the ball in deflected off Valentine's gonna be a Sounders corner kick on their left hand side as Ladero walks over managing the game now as the Sounders lead here at e QC pitcher looming field nine fifty, hegr m Sounders one Minnesota nil Sounders corner kick with Ladero on the Sounders left hand side his left foot. It's gonna

be an outscream corner. As the big men are up, Jackson, Reagan yay, Mark, Jordan Morris gonna goes short to Kell and Rowe back to Ladero on the left hand side, whips it in clayed by boxall flicked around the corner by Amma. Fraga Pani jumps early falls into JP and it's gonna be a Sounders free kick. But as you mentioned Stephen getting into the eighty six minute Sounders leading one nil. Now's where the experience comes in to see this game out is and I like the lineup brnish Minster has out there in the day road in Joparlo and rusnag Montero

Yama back. There a lot of experience to see this out, but still enough firepower up that if the chance is there and you get a chance to kill this game of womannother goal which really would put Minnesota to bed. You could still of both for that as well. Or goes to the right hand side channel and it's eventually Tailor who has to book it clear with his left foot from the Sounders will be happy with that. League take a throwing ten

yards from the corner flag on the Sounder's right hand side. Summer set up to where the sound has got their golf malbourt Rusneck and Or with Rusneck and Ladera top of the box, it goes into Montero again finds itself on top of the box, but this time his Minnesota come away that Jackson Riga used to play very well. It gives the ball away and it's Alex hold on it picks the pocket to Montero, maintains possession JP who tries to side folly

it to a Ladera, but picked up by Minnesota. And here come Minnesota with Oriaga middle of the field, all into Lud on the halfway line. Center circle goes from center to their left. Tailor advance from his left back spot, now getting involved, seeking out that equalizing goal into frog A party back to Lud inside left channel. Fraga Panni has a chat time space to turn if JP faces him up, ball goes in to long June Raga,

Panni goes to the deck, wins the ball comes away with it. Minnesota now have some sustained possession and the sound as half of the field that Jordan Morris closes the ball down to balance in on their right hand side and knocks the ball down the line back to Riga who was Dodson, who's trying to find pockets of space now get involved with boxall and the Sounders now eleven men behind the ball in Montera chasing all the way across to the Minnesota left hand

side, with Taylor goes into Lud blows down by JP. Sounds holding strong, well organized back for holding five yards outside the eighteen yard box. Two blocks solid blocks of four as Minnesota mentae possession on the left hand side with Taylor closed down by Alex Roldan and JP sees the danger, reads the ball well and clears it for a Minnesota throwing deep on their left hand side, Sounders standing strong. Dylan TeVeS cutting out options, so Soundic Dotson looks to

show for the ball. This tailor with the ball in his hands, looking for options short dots and marked type by Dylan Tevers long one. It comes in short, ball, goes into his feet. JP goes to the ball down, but it's tailor towards the end line left boot clips and falls into the hands of Stephen Fry as a fourth of the deck. Seeing that from Saint Clair early on this game. Now it's Stephen Fry who throws it out

to Keller Rose Steve Takuani. Yeah, just sees I'm activity to hear on the sound as bench Brian Schmisser in conversation with Mariaga, and it's not surprised to see this guy a chief. You've made your inchine closer to a massive three point on the night where you haven't quite been out your best, haven't

quite been yourself. But again saying all the time, a sign of a good team is even when you're not playing well and you pick up the point, find a way and the Sounds gonna bring on an extra defender just to ensure we can really get over the line, put more distance between themselves and lastly into the field in a cascade class does ever a game we all remember there's two sixteen MLS Cup Sounders won at their very best that night that they got a shot on goal, but they won the game. That was all

about experience and managing that game. And the Sounds now leading here one nil. As we get into the ninetieth minute, the sound as if they win, will be eleven one on one versus Minnesota seven h seven and O comm into this game it will be a another defeat of Minnesota. They maintain possession as they try to pin the ball into fragapane, but it rolls easily into stephfriend Fry as they holds the ball at his feet close down by a Maria.

As you mentioned, he's a little bit of movement on the sidelines. Ariagas still stands there on the halfwayline. I'm ready to come in to see this game out. Bryan Schmitz had talked about being his pragmatic self last week if you'd have thrown in Oriaga with his experience against Portland, and tonight he reverts back to that pragmatic self, trying to see this game out. Paul's

not out of play yet. Ariaga maintains his spot on the sideline waiting to come in, and the extra mile stoppage time is three minutes as the Sounders get a free kick in Minnesota half of the field. Stevie don't always win pretty. This year have been full of great goals, but tonight he was about grinding out a result. But it's these results that really make you champions.

I think for a team when you're not quite at your best, but you're finding ways to win and you can Prustna steps off the ball here, it looks like he'll be a clicheet and three points you can't beat that. You can't beat that. So I think for the sounds, yes, it's not a game that Branch mess All particularly want to go back on the roof. The film of it won't make any highlight reels. Wombs always game in ten years. But just three points is as good as a three points you

get in a four nail win. When a play Shammian football, it's exactly the same. Sounders get up no goals so far at Looming Field, and Oriaga comes on now to try and see this game out. It's gonna be a back three of game. Art Reagan in the middle of Oriaga on that right hand side. He's gonna see this game out. As we get into injury time here, as the ball goes down the line to Tevers as he

holds a ball up well good experienced by the young man. He maintains possession comes back to Jp well played by TeVeS because he now he goes into the box, gets nudged by long Warning. Long Warning in the box cuts the ball back to his left hand side, plays the ball out to Dodson, closed down well by the Sounders as they come away with it, and it's Alex hold Down on the right hand side steal and Tevers, supporting about ten

yards in front. White on the right hand side, eventually gets it from Russneck ball down the line to Russneck, Price across the ball, low and tight. It goes out for a corner kick and that will add some valuable seconds on the clock. Here as the Sounders look to see this game out leading one nil. Here an e QC pitcher looming field on nine fifty KGr a M against Western Conference rival Minnesota Sounders of one three tight one at home

so far this year. This will be the fourth win this season at home the seeded no goals and it's the Sounds are going to retain the ball in the near right hand corner. It's gonna be a corner kick with Rusneck and Alex Roldan together looking to see this game out as they played short again, Alex Roldan back to the oncoming Fragga Pani holds the ball up in the corner.

Flame gets away from it, wriggles free along the end like eventually tackled by Ariaga, cleared by Dotson, but the Sounds pick up the second ball, still in Minnesota half of the field in front of the Sounders bench. Flicks around the corner, but eventually it goes out from Minnesota, throwing tail

against the ball quickly and there's the referees whistle. The Sounders came in here with a far trust that they needed to withstand and withhold, and a goal from Albert Rusnack in the seventy ninth minute gets the wind for the Sounders. See your thoughts, Well, it wasn't the performance we've become accustomed to seeing out Uman field, the free flowing football, the intricate passing That wasn't quite dear. But it's a massive result. Make no mistake about that. This

is a huge, huge result. The sound was bouncing back from the defeat last week. There were players missing today that didn't matter all you did, it was a moment because one of your star players step up in that moment today. That was Albert Russnack and through with a massive goal towards the end of the game. Give a Sounders three points. Listen, Samson got in the locker room for say, guys, well done, go home and enjoy evenings. Let's move on to next week. The most important thing was we

didn't play our best. We've got the result. That's a fantastic sign and a lot can be used. Went forward off weapon tonight. Thank you the Lloyd on the board, Keiley Dunning is always keeping us on track and in check. Here in the booth, Kevin Caper is always great information. Michelle Ludker on the sidelines, and of course the Sounders legend Steve Zaquanny. Dark clouds lingered around this week after the loss against the Portland Timbers, but the

sunshine is back. The Sounders get another win here at EQC Pitch at Looming Field and another clean sheet for Stephen Fry. We'll take a short break and Jackson Phelps and Pete viewing we'll be back to break it all down from EQUC Pitch at Looming Field. It finishes Sounders one Minnesota nil. The Sounders FC Postmatch Show starts now. The great three points at home for your Seattle Sounders a one nothing win here at Louman Field over Minnesota United. And for your Sounders it is a goal from Albert Russnach that gets it done in the seventy ninth minute of throwing for Alex rolled On, flipped back from Freddy Monterel and Russnack into the bottom left corner for the Sounders goal. There in the second half. It is a one nothing Sounders win over Minnesota welcome

in to the postmatch show. Jackson Felt alongside Pete viewing. Diego Audio will join us here in just a little bit to break it all down. In a moment, we'll head down to the field and here from the goal score Albert or maybe we won't hear a little bit, but listen, this was This was a good professional win from your Sounders, a day where they had a number of a number of good things go right. And let's head down to the field now. Albert Russnack with Michelle whattc. Thank you Jackson.

Albert, first of all, congratulations out only on the win, but picking up your first goal of the season. Walk me through the build up to that beautiful goal. I'm not sure I think we had to throw in or something. And um, it was a good, good set from freddie you know, I'm sure he saw me there and uh yeah, the bull, the bull just sat perfectly for a for a shot and you know, I'm happy to win in and uh and we got the three points because that's the

most important. And it was a beautiful strike. What do you think worked well for your squad tonight? Um, you know, teams come here and uh and defend and play counter attacking uh soccer, and it's not always easy to break them down. And uh, you know, we struggled a little bit in our first half. We did keep possession, but it didn't really

threaten them in behind UM. And you know, I think with the with Jordan coming in, uh, you know, he offers more of a threat to go in behind um and we were just able to create a little bit more and um and you know, one of them chances went in and that's all it took today. You know, it's still very early on in the season, but given the root disappointing result last weekend in Portland, how important was coming back and getting a win this week to kind of right the ship.

Yeah, well, we kept saying the whole week it's not a it's not a must win game. Was there early in a season for a must win games. But I think that was the coaching staff, you know, trying to put too much pressure on us after that perform last week. But we as players, deep down knew that this is a must win game. We must answer um after the loss in Portland and especially coming back home.

You know, this is a place that that teams don't want to come to and and in terms of that, we have to take it our results and we've been doing that so good so far. On that note, you guys are now four oh in one this season. At home, coach said, the goal this season obviously was to make this place a fortrait, to continue to make it a place where other teams did not want to come and play.

How do you keep that momentum going? Yeah, well, it's you know, it's it's it's not easy, but it's also something that, uh that it's a good kind of pressure. I would say, you know, to keep something going and you know, to keep an unbeaten street going on. And still haven't considered at home. You know, I'm sure at some point in the season we will concede here um. And you know I always say when we win, we can be too high, so when we lose, we don't get too low. And it's just you know, season,

a season as a marathon is not a sperit. First time in club history that you guys have had five scoreless results or clean sheets, I should say five clean sheets in club history in a row. Is this club off to do amazing things and set some records this year? I mean, that's what we want to do. Um was thoroughly in a season too to be talking about records, but it is definitely something that you know, we want to We want to win the Supporter Shield. I think that's the first thing that

we can win. And you know that was an Open Cup game, which is as imported as an MLS game on Wednesday, So you know, we take every game serious and whatever we competition we're in, we're trying to go all the way. Albert, I appreciate the time so much. Again, congratulations not only on the goal but the big three points tonight. Thanks for times. Thank you so much, Jackson. I'll send it back to you. Thanks Michelle. Great stuff down there on the side with Albert Russnack and

he is Toyota's man of the match. Your local Toyota dealers are proud to present tonight's man of the match. Great stuff there from Albert Rusnack. As we fucking get back to the booth here at Looming Field, Jackson Felts and Pete Viewing and Pete Michelle, you know brilliantly asked, asked Albert about that home record. I didn't even know about that five straight where you haven't given up a goal at home. I mean, Brian Spencer came into this season

and he talked about making this place a fortress. Again, they sure have. Well he doesn't like the word fortress, No he doesn't, but because but because that's RSL's nickname for theirs, just that. But you gotta figure out if the cauldron whatever you want to call. But nonetheless, it's this building right now. Let's talk to a good start in twenty club. Yeah, it's four wins and then the tie with LAFC Zero's there would tie here,

So it's terrific. I thought they played really well. To quote, the guys in the booth next to us, Sean Henderson and the director of scouting workman like performance, Craig Wible, the GM academic. They came in and you know, before the Portland game they talked about the possession and the patients, and we saw it tonight. It was a very clinical win. I feel bad for for Minnesota because that's now eight games that they you know,

they're O and eight here in Seattle. Adrian's a good man, their head coach, Adrian Heath, and but man, they have a hard time here. But that was a clinical performance from the Sounders. Everybody played well. Stephen Fry did his job, didn't have a lot to do, but it was certainly clean. The back four was really good. Kellen Row good for him, Jackson, Reagan and Gomez and Drotti stepped really hard to the ball when they needed to. They were good on the ball. Alex Roldn

was high up the field and just really performed well. I was really pleased with the subs as well, the guys coming in. When Morris came in, it was like they just turned a switch on and all of a sudden, and they were good about getting him the ball. And he came in with purpose and an energy. And I think he came in about the sixty fifth minute in Montero, Freddy Montero, you know he gets in there on that play was a throw into Freddy Montero. He got big and strong.

You know, he's not a big guy. He's probably a good five eight nine maybe, but he was big and strong, posted up, laid that ball back. Rusnick. You know what, you want your big time players to do, big time things in big time games. And maybe this isn't a big time game. It's early in the season, but it was though,

because you had to after what happened last week. This was a massive It was only to say just say that last twenty minutes, we're racing that three points a year, races that last I mean, I forget who that team was that we played last week. I got you now. I think you're right. We needed to come away with that. You know, you and I were chatting during the game, and there was a moment it really did. At the sixty fifth minute, Seattle took it up a notch.

Yeah, there was between the forty fifth and the sixty fifth minute, those twenty minutes in the second half, you're worried that Seattle was going to give up a goal and it was gonna be a little bit of what we saw last year. So you wanted to put it away. And they did a great job. And I was the subs I thought were good Tillan Tivis was really good. He was smart. It was good at keeping possession of the

ball, kept it in the corner to kill the clock. And yeah, as as Sean said, you know, workman like performance, and as Craig said, uh, just academic. Good for them, and Brian has to be very pleased. They were just solid everywhere. Around it, and again I thought kell Kellen Levan he played for me in nineteen eighty nine. Sorry, kell and Rowe, m he'll be thrilled he got his name on the

radio. H kell and Rowe. I thought was really good. They were just good all around and good for Albert and and then moving the way they did right bringing in the players. We talk about what a difference of week makes all of a sudden you lose three four guys. But Brian's movement of you know, putting Jordan onto the left hand side when they when they took chew out. Yeah, some of those movements I thought, you know, in the substitutions were great. You know Montero TeV Is going to the right,

Morris switching to the other side. So I was I was really pleased, really happy for the team, and I feel bad for Here's what's going to happen though, This is that Adrian is a really good guy and Brian and he will sit down have a glass of wine. But that has to be miserable. Seattle has had some wins over Minnesota. There was one in Minnesota that we scored two goals in the last couple of minutes. Well, bruin and they and one of them wasn't pretty and it was we stolen.

And so we didn't steal this win the night good win from the Sounder. We did not. Indeed, that's three points for your Sounders of one nothing win over Minnesota and Sounder fans. Slash right dash with dash us Sounders win one nothing. Good vibes here on the postgame show. Shout out to mitcha brotherton for blaying some Dave Matthews. That makes me extra happy. We're gonna take a break, We'll come back, continue to break this thing down. It's a one nothing win for your Sounders. Lots of good things that we saw tonight here at Louminfield. More next on Sports Radio nine fifty KJR, AM, Yeah, that's right,

taking care of business. You're hearing that because the Sounders have won one nothing the final over Minnesota tonight here at Louminfield. How did the Sounders get their goal? Well, it's time for today's Emerald Queen Casino Play of the Match. It's Albert Rusnack in the seventy ninth minute does the sound as half of the bulls. It comes in top of the bulls. Albert Rusnack strikes it in a doll fantastic strike from eighteen yards out by Albert Russnack opens up his

account for the season and boy did they need that one. It sounds one Minnesota nil. They did. Indeed, Danny great call. The Play of the match is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest. Albert Russnack took care business and the Sounders walk away with a one nothing win with that goal. Jackson Felts and Pete viewing back here on the post

match show. And Pete, you know, as we take in those comments that you had in the previous segment that you talked about when Sean and Craig made the comments about academic and workman like performances, and you know, going into this match, you know, walking into the building, like literally as I was walking into the room here, I saw the news that knew who was a late scratch due to illness. Kellen Row has to step up on the shortest of notices, and you know, I think his performance obed vargas

performance. Um, there's a lot of those performances that really embody that that kind of the words of workmen and academic and the kind of brought the Sounders to once again not giving up a single goal. They've not given up a single goal in this house all year. But but it's those type of performances today that stood out about those two words. Bill Belichick, with a New England Patriots says, do your job. Everybody did their job today. It

was great. Row did a really good job. JP ninety minutes of just quality and and tough, picked off a lot of passes. The young kid man obed you know, I think there's a really good chance we'll see him go into the U twenties, right, And yes, I think that's gonna probably happen. Tevis got in his ninth MLS game today and did a good job. Alex wildh was he's a pro. He was really good. And Uh Jackson Reagan I mentioned this, you know, but Reagan and uh Gomes

and Drawdy they stepped hard to the ball when they needed too. And yeah, it was good. I was And Freddy Montero. You know, say what you want about Freddy Montero. He knows what he's good at, and he knows what his job is. When he gets in there and he gets big and he gets strong, it goes down when he needs to. If he gets fouled, he can draw fowls like Niko Kim. Nico was good, but I don't think Nico was as dominant as I had hoped he would

be. But everybody around him really picked up the slack. But again, you know, you can never count Nico out. He's always going to be dangerous. And it was a really really good performance. Everybody did their job. And like I said, the subs coming in, yeah, I thought that was good too. And Chew, I thought Brian Schpenzer did a good thing by leaving him in at halftime. I thought he could have gone to Jordan Morris, but I don't think psychologically that would have helped him. So

Chew put in a really good sixty five minutes plus and its good. And then again Albert Rosneck to get his first goal of the year. That is important. You don't want to rely on just Jordan Morris to you know, get all the goals you need. You need to spread it around a little bit and that gets him going as well. It does. Indeed, now it was a great performance all around by everybody. Everybody was a plus today in the book because the Sounders get a one nothing win over Minnesota and fans.

They're a Providence Weis prematch shows six pm, kickoff six thirty Sounders

at Salt Lake. Now. In addition to that, they also play the Open Cup that's gonna be over at Starfire against San Diego Loyal sc coming up this Wednesday, So make sure to head out a star Fire for always amazing atmospheres when the Open cups down there. Sounders recent history in the Open Cup has not been great, so we hope and we expect that to change this

coming Wednesday. But Diego, it's it's a busy, busy week ahead for the club with a midweek match and Open Cup and then and we'll see what kind of when Brian Spencer throws out and then another MS match on the road

on Saturday. Yeah no, I think especially after this win, it gives him some room for breathing, right, and then they have this this important game in the Open Cup, and even branch Mets are mentioned it to us during the production meeting that this is an important game that they want to go

ahead and win. He's gonna put the lineup that's going to really compete and want to show why the Sounders are one of the favorites for this tournament, even though, as you said, lately hasn't been you know, the results. They want it, but I think they have to think about the next game, that would be the Open Cup, and then think about the game on the weekend. But I think it's important result that they have some players

on rotation that they could definitely bring in for the Open Cup game. Yep, you know, I won't give names, but Brian mentioned a few players that want to be on the Open Cup from this first team that played tonight, that they want to do it. They haven't had a win. You were saying, Jackson in five years in the US Open Cup Portland the back of Starfire in twenty seventeen. Yeah, and it feels like a long time.

We've got four trophies and those are great games down there that I'm gonna go, and I'm gonna go as a fan and I'm looking forward to it. And I've coached in an Open Cup game against the Sounders with kids at Pumas round of sixteen, and it is an awesome experience. And I think the Sounders kind of miss it and they'd like to. Hey, they're going to open a new facility, the Longacres Facility. They like to put another big Cup in there, so you can feel that they're getting serious about it.

I think Brian even said he didn't realize it's been five years, so it's time to get back on that. I think Champions League had taken a lot of their attention. But it'll be a fun one. And for the fans to be that close, I mean, it's kind of a It's a pretty special venue at Starfire to go watch a game. So let's get after it. With a Lanta Donovan, you're gonna see him personally. You can be twenty feet away from that guy on the bench, and let's not do

that. I'm sure. I'm sure a few fans will just because the Galaxy days. Sure, yeah, that fair enough. But that'll be a fun game. I'm looking forward to it. Hope the weather is good. Yes, hope the weather is good, right, And I think it is this this week should be seen great weather, so if you haven't yet make your plans, get out to Starfire on Wednesday evening for Sounders in the Open Cup

against San Diego Loyal. Should be a fun match and hopefully we see a strong lineup in the first Sounder winning the Open Cup in quite a while. And then in addition to that, obviously we'll be back on here for Saturday's match down there at Salt Lake. We'll want to thank everybody with the broadcast tonight here in the booth.
