Welcome to the Sounders FC premad Show presented by Providence Swedish Tonight from the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at lumen Field, your Seattle Sounders FC faced Houston Dynamo FC. Tonight's matt Just presented by Regent's BlueShield, the official health plan partner of Sounders FC. The Providence Swedish Premat Show starts now well. Entering the weekend

still third place in the Western Conference. Your Seattle Sounders are looking to finally get back in the wind calm, and it'll need to come tonight against the fourth place Houston Dynamo underneath the setting sun here at beautiful luman Field. So welcome to the Sounders FC Premat Show, presented by Providence Swedish, official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. Jackson Felds here in the booth alongside Pete Fwing

and James Riley. We're here for the next half hour to break down this match and look ahead to Sounders and Houston before Danny Jackson, Steve Zakwane and Michelle Lutka on the sideline will have the call for Sounders in Dynamo after at the bottom of the hour. But we begin today by kind of looking back and looking back to the last month for your sounders. Is the calendar has now turned to July. Roll Ruydiez is back from Peru. He returned on

Monday. He was in Peru last week. As we know, he was with family last weekend after the sudden death of his father the right around before the LAFC game a week and a half ago, so he spent time with family. Done in Peru. He has returned to the team. He's been training with them throughout the week. But still no Jordan Morris, no Christian rolled On, no Alex rolled On, all of them still with the international duty at the Gold Cup, and they were gone for last week's zero zero

draw against Orlando and of course the one nothing lost at LAFC. So let's start by talking about the common denominator with both of those matches, Pete and James, and that's the offense. The attack right now, zero goals in the last two three goals across the month of June, all of them coming in one match against Charlotte. Petle'll start with you and what are you seeing out of this attack right now? What isn't working and how can the Sounders

turn it around tonight? Well, crosses are getting in, but they're not hitting the target right. We're not playing anything around the edge of the box, meaning accommodation into a forward, a third man running. We haven't seen that for probably not at all this season. You know, I think back to Christian rolled on russneck a year ago, right sore. So we're maybe a little bit stagnant and maybe we're just trying to get it chew wide.

With Nico on the right, he's gonna want to cut in, but they just and there's been consistency or lack of consistency with a lineup that's been difficult injuries. You know, really Ideas was brought here to score goals. We all know that he is a lethal finisher, but he's been in and out of the lineup with injuries, right, and so he hasn't been able to get his rhythm, and forwards have to find their rhythm. So it is unusual. I mean, we've got three guys on this squad that have scored

a ton of goals for this club. Morris As you say, he's gone, right, and that's frustrating for Brian because he's gonna miss another three weeks ish, I think, and then Rueidias and even Freddie Montero, so it's just been tough. They just haven't other consistency and then James the quality service hasn't quite been there. That outside backs getting forward hasn't been there's at the

beginning like it was at the beginning of the season. So maybe I think Brian even used the word stagnant at one point, So they've got to get some energy going. Yeah, And I think you know it was touched on earlier. As you know, players are human too, so the fact that he had an opportunity to go back be with family, you know, during that difficult time, and he wants to come back and be in this lineup

we all know and motivated. Ruie Diaz is lethal. Like when he's happy and filling it and in rhythm, he can make a goal out of nothing. So you know, sometimes as a team you use those moments and experiences to galvanize around each other. This would be a great night to do it for him, for his father, for the team, for the city. Everything just gives you perspective around everything, Right, You're going to give that extra effort, You're gonna make that extra run. It's going to be an

extra celebration when they do score. So for me, I think he gets a goal tonight, and I think that they celebrate very very well together. But again, a motivated Ruidias is a lethal Ruidis, but he galvanizes everyone. So when he's on, he brings everyone's level up, and so I look for him to be very motivated tonight, start to get into rhythm through the summer and into the fall. Well, you look back to the game

against Charlotte and Charlotte where the team scored three goals. I mean one of the goals is just roal Ridia is pulling, you know, a rabbit out of the at. It's the magician, you know, is sending in your glazzo. That's not involving Jordan being there, Christian being there or Alex. That's just rollal Ridias. He's here tonight. The other another one of the three jual Polo crossing into Ruidiaz tap at the far post, goes from the

back of the net. Jualpolo, Rollo Udias both playing and starting for your sounders tonight. So the reality is the talent is here to score goals. We have everything, we need just gotta do it. So with that set, let's jump in and let's take a look at the delta. Starting weven for your Seattle Sounders, Bryan Schmittzer puts out a four two three one. Cody Baker frying goal. Cody Bakers, you're right back, Gomez and Drone and A B. Sosoko your other center back. Sosoko in because Reagan's got

the cumulation of yellow cards, so he's sitting tonight. Knew who's your left back? Nico will be on the right holding down the center of the park is Jalpaulo and vargas Chi will be on the left, and then Albert Rusneck will sit underneath Raoul Roal ideas and James, I think you're totally right. The team's gonna pull together for him. It's the best medicine for him, real ideas, and it would be an awesome thing for him to get a

goal tonight and bring that energy it absolutely. Taking a look at the Sounders bench, it includes Stephen Cleveland, Freddie Montero, Read Baker, Whiting, Dylan Tevis, Josh Atensio, Kellen Rowe, a Bear and also how Uter. It's coming up from Tacoma Defiance today and how Uterus who play of course four pet viewing at Seattle University. The connection there, we'll see if he sees the field tonight. Taking a look at the Houston Dynamo lineup, it's

Steve Clarkin goal. If you know that name, it's because he played many years for the Portland Timbers. He likes to take risks while I'm playing out of the back, and that's something that the Sounders might be able to jump on tonight. This is a lineup, by the way, I led from head coach Ben Olsen, who is a long time coach with DC United, and he is, you know, taking Houston to place they haven't seen in

a long time, fourth place right now in the West anyway. So Steve Clarkin goal, Franco Escobar, Ethan Barlow, Eric Shivischenko defender is the center back, and then Michael Dosantos is one of their other fullbacks. Our term and Bossi and Sisto are their midfielders in this four three three and the attackers Corey Baird, ay You and Quinnones are their three attackers. Should be noted that Hector Herrera, a star Mexican player for the Mexican national team. On

Houston's lineup, he is on the bench tonight. Per sources, he has an illness, so that is why he's starting tonight upon the bench. So we'll go over to Houston's lineup a little bit more. But James, want to get your take on on the Sounders lineup and what Brian Sptzer is throwing out tonight, similar to what we've seen the last few but unlike Orlando, roll back to the nine what are your thoughts on the full eleven again?

An eleven that's fully capable of winning. I mean, you're missing two key players, but for good reason, right national team duty, So at least you're not missing players because of injury. So at the you know you have your core group of Sounders players, all fitting, healthy and ready to contribute. You have two missing for national team duty, you have a bench, and you can bring on goal scorers in Freddy Monterre and Hebert that can come

in and be difference makers. So all in all, it's a first choice lineup for the players that coach Metzer has a beautiful night and here in Seattle, a veteran lineup, a lineup that's been through the dog days of the summers before, they've been through the dog days of maybe not getting results. Today's a perfect opportunity to get it. And I bet in the locker room right with this sudden death that Ruey did his father, it just it goes

unset. I've been in locker rooms where there's been big it says like that, where you know, you see there's things bigger than the game of soccer. And so I'm sure when they greeted each other today for this game, it was an extra second of embrace. No words need to be said, no words need to be shared, and people know it's about business, and this would be a great opportunity to you know, to really galvanize the group and really, you know, be there for someone that's been part of this

brotherhood for a long time to very influential in games. And now you have your star player that obviously you know, went through a very difficult time. So this could be a great time for the Sounders to get back on the winning track. Pat Home Yeah, well, said James. I agree it,

and it is funny he said that the emotion part of it. We talked about it when we first learned in the last game that he had gone home, but I still could see Brett Farve and it almost got me a little choked up there right when his father passed, right, And so it does make you realize, right that everybody's got you get one dad, right and so and then you know Peru to seattle's a long ways away, right, So, but you have a sense that if you're playing, you can

feel you're that presence, right. So, so I think you're right, and I think it'll be good. And I think Nico playing on the right hand side, let's talk about that, by the way. Yeah, because Nico's on the right again, spots where he's ran about four billion miles over the last three games beat and it's been a question mark with him on the right. Yeah. The ideal, and he matches up well with or combines well with Ruy Dias, is that he'll come inside right and he's here's the

interesting thing. He's gonna be going against Ethan Bartlow and Ethan University of Washington products Seattle. Kidd played at Crossfire, but he has not left back. He's a center back. He's a long ball guy, and so it'll be interesting to see. Now he's also a physical guy, so you know, Nico's not gonna want to hold the ball and try to push it by him because big, strong, athletic. But it'll be interesting to see how he plays against him. I think he has certainly the better soccer IQ history and

all that. So can he slip the balls in and can he find I'd love to see a diving a ball slipped in to Rooidas checking and getting him behind the defense. And then Choo's got to do his thing, get back on track of making sure he gets into the quality crosses absolutely. I mean, one of the things that we're seeing is Niko starts on that right wing and he will drift centrally, they'll drift out to the left. There's spacing

issues, there's positional issues when he does drift. Would love to see, you know, maybe an Obit Vargus, you know, fill that space and attack the forward spot. See how Obed can affect them when they get in the final third, if he can add that extra dimension that gets balls in the back of the net for the Sounders. Because again, three goals in the last four matches there in the month of June, all coming in one

match. The attack has to get started here tonight let's really quick dive into the Providence Swedish team health reports a Javier Oriaga out with a quad strain, Ethan Double out with a hamstring strain, so Takitahara out with a quad strain. And as Pete mentioned, of course, Jackson Reagan he is missing this week's match due to yellow card accumulation after a card there against Orlando, and Morris and the Roldn brothers have both gone for international duties. So that's the

situation. Four years Sounders. We are just about twenty five minutes away from kick here Emerald Queen Casino pitch at lumin Field. Previously told you about the injuries for the Sounders. I'll tell you that tonight's team team health report was presented by Providence, Swedish Healthcare, partner of Sounders FC. I'll also tell you that tonight's match is presented by Regent's Blue Shield,

the official health plan partner of Seattle Sounders FC. And ahead of tonight's special Defend the Right to Play theme match, which celebrates the work of Ray Foundation to support principles of free play and play equity in Washington State, we are here in the booth joined by special guest, doctor Nicole Saint Clair, the executive Metal director for Medical director for Regent's Blue Shield, here in the booth

with us tonight to talk about this brand new partnership between the Sounders and Regions Blue Shields and doctor doctor Saint Clair. Welcome to the booth. Great to have you here tonight's Thank you so much. It's great to be here. It's a beautiful afternoon. It's just an absolutely perfect eving for soccer as the

sun has set on the field, should be a wonderful night. Well, let's start talking about this because you know, sometimes a lot of fans they don't necessarily pay a lot of close attention to these partnerships and the business news about the club. So people might have missed earlier this week the announcement that Sounders and Regents Blue Shield have announced a new partnership together. But this announcement

in this partnership has some really interesting pieces relating to the community. So what can you tell us about and tell of fans that are listening about this partnership and what Sounders and Regions Blue Shield are aiming to accomplish together. Yeah. Absolutely, I'm so excited about this partnership. I think we're going to be

able to do wonderful things together. As you know, Regents has been in the community for over one hundred years just trying to promote local health and wellness, and so this was a perfect opportunity to align those goals with what the Sounders are already doing trying to promote health and wellness for youth. So we are working together to sponsor several things on match days. We want to have

some great activities for families and kids to get active. We're working on bringing affordable, low cost to no cost soccer education to communities in particular because we know that costs are a real driver towards disparities in access to sports and physical play. Actually, and then we're also working to make sure that that's going to be sustainable long term as we bring in more kids and they're getting excited

having teams and leagues that they can play on. Yeah. Absolutely, And you know, the partnership, as you mentioned, talking a lot about that health equity in the play equity, and you know, I would love to kind of dive into the Tonight's defend the right to play, them to match and talk more about the Regents commitment to those specific ideals. Absolutely, thank you. So Regents has been really involved in leaning into all things health equity.

We've had a couple areas of focus with maternal health equity as well as looking at behavioral health and access to care and treatment. And the third area of key interest for us our youth and children and adolescents. We know that pre pandemic kids had some inequities just in terms of access to free play and fields. We know that the amount of time kids spent doing leisure and sports physical activity really vary based on their family's income, which is so unfair.

And now that we're in the post pandemic time, we're seeing that that's even worse. So it's really important to maintain your physical health as a way to support your mental health and just your whole person health. So I can't be more excited to really get behind ways to help elevate these kids and get them

back into more equitable play for everyone. Absolutely, Doctor Nicole Saint Clair, Executive medical director for Regents Blue Shield here in the booth as we count you down to kick off for Sounders in Houston coming up just after the bottom of the hour, and the last thing for you, Doctor Saint Clair. Sounders are moving to Renton next year in this beautiful new facility. Their long acre is opening up. And I've heard that Regions is also relocating its headquarters to

Renton, So how will that play into this partnership. Yes, so we are moving our headquarters towards the end of the year down towards the Renton landing at South Lake and partnering with the Sounders on the efforts towards supporting the Renton community. I think that's an area that's certainly near and dear to my heart,

being a lifelong Washington and I actually grew up right near there. And oftentimes we see again needing to support spaces, having fields, communities where kids can just come and play, having pop up clinics, having some cool field trips over to the new facility that's going to be in Long Acre. So really investing in our local community with where our headquarters is going to be as well as the Sounders wells me have beautiful new facilities. That's fantastic, doctor

Nicole Saint Clair. Doctor, thank you so much for spending some time with us today. Absolutely thanks for having me. Right, we'll come back with more on the providence. Good to have doctor Nicole Saint Clair in the booth that previous segments. Region's Blue Shield is proud to team up with local youth from Sounders FC Community Partners to present Regions Dream Team. Well, it's time for today's sharp vision opponent al because we take a look at the Houston Dynamo. Houston comes in entering the weekend a fourth place in the Western

Conference with twenty seven points. They are eight eight and three, just two points under Seattle. They won three state games recently, including back to backs over LAFC by the Way, including by the way a whopping four to one win over fifth place San Jose. But then last week they hit a roadblock three nothing loss at Austin last week. So Pete viewing. We saw Houston just a month and a half ago. We beat them down in Houston, won nothing. Paul roth rock at fantastic late game winner. But this is

a Houston team then, is a little bit different. What do you think the Dynamo can do? You're coming to town tonight. Well, the one thing that makes me nervous is we've given up some tough games to teams that have been struggling. This team struggles on the road. Right They're one win, seven losses and two ties. That I think there's something in the brain of fans, players, coaches that some of these teams come here to reboot their season. We saw that with Kansas City, San Jose. Uh,

We've seen some teams come in here and get a great result. So I look at this team again. Barlow on the left I think is interesting to me. Baird and Bossie canon As those guys can score goals. It's it's a good team. And I just talked to pat Onstead, their GM. He's really pleased with what Ben Olsen's done. I think this is the best Houston group that I've seen since the dominant can ear days to be quite honest. I think they think they got a consistent coach who's been in the league

for a long Did you play with him? You play with Ben and I like his grit, So they're gonna come in, you know. And then I coached the kid Cam Weaver who played for Houston any Any five years. He said it was just sweltering hot. So when they come to a place like this, it's refreshing for them. So refreshing, great town to be in. Yeah, it's it's It makes Brian, I'm sure a little bit nervous, but it's Yeah, it's a good team that has had some pretty

important wins. Yeah, I agree, a team that deserves respect. They're coming in here to certainly get a result. They have a you know, a veteran MLS coat and a veteran MLS GM in pad Ouncet, so they've certainly constructed a roster that's capable of getting wins and be competitive. But at the same time, the Sounders have the same and I look for them to be on the front foot. Tonight a great day and you almost need those

one degree shifts. And I bring up that rue Dus you know, you know, it's the father passing, because that is sometimes you know, that one degree shift that a team needs to really you know, galvanize behind each other and get on a run. And they can do it again tonight or start it tonight. Absolutely so. And then you know, looking at some stats here, boss he's starting in the midfield. He leads them with eight

goals three assists this season. Hector Herrera, Mexican national team star he per sources, is sick tonight, so he starts on the bench for Houston, which is a nice thing for seality. You will face Herrera at least from minute one. Also, they're missing Kaskia, a very talented young fieler, a twenty four year old. He's gone with Panama for the Gold Cup. So that's great as well that the Sounders won't have to face another talented midfielder.

So a couple of things that that's mate mate, Brian Schmenzer a little bit smile tonight, is not having to face those two talented players for Houston. Now it's Shift, Gears and and James. He just mentioned Rowle Rudiaz. As we begin our players to watch segment is role your player to watch? He is He's gonna be my player to watch again. He's been so tremendous for this club, and sometimes that can be easily forgotten when you're in a in a you know, in a rut like this. But some big

time goals for this club. And so when he's motivated, he galvanizes and makes others around him better. That's why equality of him is so you know, elevating. So I look for him to have a great night to night and get one or two he For me, it's Nico. Brian Schmitzer a week ago when he put him in on the right hand side, wanted him to stay right cut inside, but Nico likes to cover ground. I think you mentioned, uh you know how many millions of miles he runs for million?

Actually yes, yea, So it's actually exact. It'll be interesting for him to stay and if he does cut inside, what Cody Baker doesn't know right now, as young as Cody Baker is and is playing days is number one priority is to stay home, right But if if Nico does cut inside, Cody Baker's got the pace and the engine to get back and forth,

so maybe he can get himself involved as well. So, uh yeah, for me, Nico, is he gonna is he gonna have is he gonna stay with the plan and the assignment the coach has given him all along those same lines. My player to watch zobed Vargas because at the end of the day, you know, we're a couple of games, a few games into this, you know this uh scenario. Can I say of of Nico up on the right and listen, he just he keeps drifting. He just keeps

drifting. And if he's gonna keep drifting, then somebody needs to fill that space. Somebody needs to go forward and attack that primacist zone and be the player in that in that pocket that Nico is not filling. Obed Vargus, Obed Vargas, I want to see get up the field when Nico leaves that space, fill that space. And then listen. We saw a great assist against Portland Timbers down in Portland when he got up on the right. We saw him nearly getting assist to ral Ridiaz down at l AFC a week and

a half ago. He can play up and serve a good ball in from the right. I want to see how pend Vargas fill that space because at the end of the day, I just I think Nico's gonna drift, and when he drifts, oh, Ben needs to be there. And so I will say this, it's a great opportunity for Rusnack to play in at his ideal position. So he's got to take advantage of it and proved to Brian

Spencer he's made a good decision. Absolutely, I should mention they're talking about Houston Dinamo a few minutes go. Tonight's upon An Outlook was presented by Sharp Vision, Modern Lasic and Lens, the official lasic provider of Sounders FC. Emerald Green Casino, the entertainment capital of the Northwest. Sounders Houston tonight. In MLS history, Seattle fourteen five and six against the Dynamo, and should note Seattle has defeated Houston in eleven of the last twelve meetings, including the playoffs since twenty seventeen. Let's get to some keys to the match beat viewing. What are you looking for? Well, that stand always makes me nervous the way this season has been going. So Seattle's got ten shutouts. They

got to take care of business at the back to begin with restarts. I think we're due for some success on restarts. We're due for some guys to put the ball in the back of the net. Niko I think has one goal right now and it's on a penalty kick, and so he's due. We're due on a restart. Albert Rusnick's got a great opportunity tonight ahead of him. Cody Baker, Yes, got to stay home, but he gets

to expand his career. So they got to keep the clean sheet. I'd love to see them change the point of attack when JP can hit that dyagno ball, choose got the pace, that's not the ball he's gonna hit over the top for Nico. But and then and then find Ruidias. I think James is right, it's a special night for Ruidias to come back and do something. Certainly feed Ruidias. There needs to be services, quality services in the box. You know, he's gonna you know, slash that front post,

which is going to leave space for secondary run. So for me, it's getting services into Ruidias, quality services, and then there'll be multiple runners, multiple space in that secondary effort, you know, the secondary lines that he you know, because he's gonna help drop that back line with that near post run and great space behind him absolutely, So I would just say from my side, nicos state, disciplined, and then finish, finish, finish.

Let's get some goals tonight. How about that three in the last four games, and then all in the month at June, all coming into one game, shut out in the last two. Score tonight, Let's score some goals. That's what I would say. Last thing before we hand this thing off, and before we get to the national anthem. Key's the match for halftime, as James Riley and Brad Evans will have a two versus twenty six match. James Riley, Brad Evans versus twenty six kids. Hewing your keys

to rally for the halftime match. Do not carry your hamstring and do not drive a ball into a kid's face. James Riley, who with the final score noted, noted we'll pull it out one zero Brad and Knight. One zero is the prediction for brad Evans field is it seventy two by one fifteen? I was going to be too big or whatever? Field, whole field, twenty six kids versus James Riley and Brad Owens. That's coming up at halftime. If you're in the building, please get ready. To enjoy that.

Well, here we go at least until then. Sounders. They are in green tops, blue shorts, Houston and they're all black kids. Seattle Sounders, FC Houston Dynamo. We'll hand things off to Danny Jackson, Steve Zakwani and Michelle Lutka. They'll have the first half that starts next on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJR FM. Your Seattle Sounders FC face Houston Dynamo FC. Tonight's match is presented by Regent's Blue Shield, the official health plan partner of Sounders FC. Sounders FC Soccer is brought to you by Providence, Swedish, official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. Now time for Sounders FC Sucker. Good evening from EQC Pitch at lumin Field, where your Sounders take on Western Conference rival the Houston Dynamo.

Houston are enjoying some good recent form under head coach Ben Olson. Wins against Western Conference rivals LAFC and San Jose over the past month have catapulted the Dynamo into fourth position and just one point behind the Sounders. For the Sounders, they enter lumin Field with eight clean sheets at home and the return of Rawlruy Diaz to the starting lineup, but scoreless in five of the last seven games

and with only two wins in the last eleven. Brian Schmetzer needs to see the combination of quality and character from his team tonight to earn some much needed points with just four games to go until League's Cup. It's July first and the halfway point in twenty twenty three, and as we know from seasons past, the back half of the year is where the Sounders shine under big game

pressure, and it starts tonight. My name is Danny Jackson, sitting alongside former Sounders winger and former number one draft pick Steve zack Quani for the care tonight. So as a team's huddle up. Steve, we had this conversation last week. The need pro win, but what do the Sounders have to do tonight? Yeah, you know, Danny, we talked about it last week, and I think the team did it. Came out and had a fast start. I remember the first ninety seconds, Abet had a great chance,

Nicoladera smashed you one off the cross bar. You have a feeling if either one of those bowl in, it's maybe a routine whole victory. And it's a three point so it's a must win game, not from a points

perspective, from a team morale boosting effective. So I think a fast start compete tries to get ahead early and play taichi and the referee gets us going, Ladera rolls it back to Jao Paolo who launched it long from center to the fast side the right, where Cody Baker gets up and challenges our tour pulls it down and Houston decked out and all black tonight shooting to the goal to our right to the south end as they launched it long towards Knew who

knew who knocks it out and the Sounders in rave green shirts, blue shorts and green socks attacking the gold to our left to the north end. And so let's give you that delta starting eleven for the Sounders, Stephan Fryan Gola back forth, Cody Baker, Gamar change Sosoko and Jackson Reagan out due to

an accumulation of yellow cards. Knew who on the left hand side, oh Bed and JP retained their positions in the middle, Nicoladera on the right, Albert Rosneck in the tent LEO two on the left, and then the return of Raoul up front as Houston drive forward, Bossy out to the left hand sight challenged by Cody Baker comes back to Bossi to talk goal score right now for Houston with eight goals and sound As block it, come away with it. Cody Baker knocks it in. It's going to be a free kick for

the Sounds. Let's get you the lineup for Houston. Then Alston gives a four three three Steve Clark in goal of back four of Escobar, Bartlow, Sviatchenko and Michael mid three, midfield three of Bossi, a tour Cassdo and an attacking three of bed Aliyu and Kinon. As the sound is with, Sosoko pulls it out and we gotta with that, Michelle, good evening. We got to toss it down to you, good evening, gentleman. Yes, as you pointed out, Abe Sosoko is in the starting lineup tonight,

making his return in place with Jackson Reagan. And we talked to head coach Brian Schmitzer about this during our production, meeting him saying that he's very excited and eager for the start. We'll get back to a second. Michelle che picks up left hand side the box, drives to the end line, cuts it back under the corner of the six yard bucks. It's cleared by Houston, falling quickly, but Leo Chew ten yards from the end line back to

Russneck to JP trys to fire it into ruy ds. Massa gets his pocket picked sounds with possession, flick it over the top by Lugdaro towards Chew towards the left hand end line, gets it in, kills it in safely gathered by Steve Clark and Michelle. We're going to throw it back to you to

finish your thoughts. Yes, thank you. Danny. Talking about Abe and how he's excited to get the start tonight, head coach Brian Schmittzer says he has the right mental capacity coming into this one, but really wants him to focus on turning that match starting adrenaline that you get into good energy, really focusing on connecting his passes, winning duels, and not letting tonight's match get

too big for him. He apsoltainly. Abe gets a chance. Played so well for the Defiance of the Years, played some good minutes for the Sound as first team, and of course playing alongside fellow and speaking player and knew who's that I'll make him certainly more comfortable. And as we know knew who playing in that formation and role this season, that holds him a bit further

back, so gives him some added cover on that left hand side. Let's Houston build out the back with Siacenko was a addition to this line and they got Sixteen players joined the Dynamo for this twenty twenty three season, so huge turnover of players for Ben Olsen who came in as a new head coach. And down the left hand side is canone challenged by Yama, gets the top corner of the box, comes in, fires safely gathered by step and Free. But Steve good brisk start to this game it is and again we're see

in an era we saw a Lando last week. Try to explore the sounds, really depend on Coldie Baker to give the wid on the right hand side the challenges when the board is lost. Teams to try to expose that era. Early on on this occasion, Yeamar dragged up to the right hand side, not he's favorite air to be in, and Houston were able to explore

that in the end, a very comfortable safe for Stephan Fry. But you've got to keep an around that when Nicoladero come decide, Coldy Bakers stands so high up the pitch when the boards lost the long way back, you're asking Yama to really be aggressive and closing was based on the right hand side, and of course the Dynamo will try to explore that well for Yama. He's making his one hundredth game for the Sounders tonight leads Mless in interceptions with forty

five. The statistic he one and was on top of that less four in twenty twenty one and twenty twenty two, so it continues to play at such a higher level. But congratulations at Yamo and it's one hundredth game for the club tonight. But tonight's match is presented by Regions Blue Shield, the official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. Visit Regions dot com today to get into the fifth minute. Here at EQC Pitch Looming Field ninety three point three KGr FM,

Sounders Dynamo remains on nail. Steve Clark we know remember him from his days in poland drives it to the middle of the field, chested by bad to Cay Sado to Bassive, given away to strike from twenty five yards safe together by Steve Clark. I like that from Raoul Again, it's not the clearness of strikes. The Sounders actually were very open centrally and it was only

a bad giveaway from the Dynamo that I gave Raul a situation. But there's a different feeling when number nine Raoul is out there because he doesn't need much invitation to look for gold, and he's a kind of guy. Listen. He might have ten touches in a game, but two of them end up in the back of the net. So it's very welcome Sat to rowl with yas back. I still think the Sounders have yet to really find a game

the possession here early on wanted a fast start. Houston had been quite comfortable connecting the secrets at the three, four or five six passes quite consistently. So the Sound's gonna have to find a way to stamp their forety and start sort of dominating the ten part of this game. Yeah, chances that have

come the Sounders way have come turnovers. At this point, as the sound is picking up on the left hand side with jp as he can squees it to a B and with that we're going to throw it down to Michelle on the sideline. Thank you, Danny. Yes, a welcome return for Raoul ruy Diaz, who missed last week because he was traveling to his native Peru after the loss of his father. Continuing my thought here, Danny, Sorry,

I thought we were going to get a moment there. Well. We spoke to head coach Brian Schmiser about that during our production meeting and just kind of what it was like when you have to really kind of be there and support your players when life happens away from the pitch, and he says, what you have to do is just really trust your players and that for a lot of them, their return to the game is really a happy place for them and they're happy to be able to focus on just that for the time

being and find their joy there. And so obviously we hope that is the case for a Raoul tonight. Thanks Michelle. Certainly, Raoul continues to play as he always does, with a smile in his face. He was in practice you could certainly see being around his teammates is the tonic that any individual needs. Are you going through a time like that? Again, we passed back condolences down to Raoul and his family. As a sound is pick it Up Deep with JP comes across to Yama and sound as FC Socket is presented

by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders. FC remains Neil Neil here a EQC pitch looming field as new who plays it inside it's a rail coming deep, turns with the ball well Miko middle of the field in from his right hand side midfield position to JP, finding that pocket of space on the right hand side, nothing forward, goes back to Yamar in support or eleven men behind the ball. For Houston, a JP clips it from the right

hand side to the back post. Escobar clears the ball. I say those able to nudge Raoul off it comes away with it in Houston now pick ups

the possession of the back line. Ethan Bartlett top of the box. Ethan, of course, his time with the University of Washington Woodville, Washington Natives are playing back homes signing evening for him was drafted the sixth pick in twenty twenty one, and talking to players and coaches is the ability to drive the ball from distance as certainly the asset that the Sounders will make sure they defend well with these distributions from the back and certainly spring these wide players free and

clear as allie you. Clarion's side comes back in site challenged by n who he's an acquisition late in the spring, the balls clipped all the way to the far side towards Cody Baker. The farst side the right goes out for a Sounders throwing remains Neil Neil Steves acquanic I think the sound has done a great job there because the Houston d ANIMI being forced to go left or right quite quickly, and that's a direct result of just how compact the Sounders are

defensively, the very little space between the back line in the midfield nine both horizontally and vertically. He has been very good from the Sounds from that perspective, as I said, the one thing now is on the board. Can you up the temple? And they get a chart right here Sounders in transition left hand side. Neil cho this near side the left, comes inside, tries to find a shot from twenty yards out on the angle, maintains possession,

comes out to Rusnak. Strike by Rusnack top of the box who was at the angle on the left hand side, parried down by Steve Clark, eventually gathered by the Dynamo goalkeeper. A good great by the Sounders. Yeah, it's an encouraging signed again there Lee or two has been two or three times already in this opening ten minutes that has been able to get isolated one v one on that occasion, opted for the shot he got blocked, did a good job recovering it. And I'll say for the quality of Albert Russna,

that's a good chance. The board fell to him top of the box unmarked. You can see what he's trying to do in the end is comfortable for Clark, makes a minded meal of it. But for Albert Russneck, from what we've seen him do, he maybe should have tested Clark a little bit more. Yet Russneck retaining that number ten spot he's played. There's a third game in a row now, one goal, three assists on the year. Certainly playing in that more advanced midfield position for Rail Salt Lake for so

many years. The year before he joined the Sounders in twenty twenty one, he got eleven goals and eleven assists from that more advanced midfield position. So adjusting his role as he came into the sound As, playing alongside JP often and certainly last year being the senior player in the middle of the field. As GP went down injured, Open Vargas came in. He went down injured and then sounds that to rely on players like Rosneck. With Escobar, this

NISS had the right for Houston around the halfway line. Challenge well by Leo Choo. Nothing forty has to go back. Play didn't given away. Vargas steps in, wins the ball, but quickly won back by Houston with Escobar. JP gets his body between ball and player. Well foul on JP. Escobar knocks the ball away. Referee taking a moment, it's gonna call Escobar back. JP gets the free kick. Certainly, Houston have struggled on the road this year one seven and two. Away from home. We know how

difficult it is Steve to play down in Houston. That heat, that humidity record is strong down there, but certainly away from home they continue to struggle. Yeah, you typically see teams with that right, but better at home, not as good away from home. But this is a bit more of an extreme. And not only that. I just found out recently got Dannimoy, I've never won here in Seattle and the MLS ERA, which some of the good teams they've had over the years with a built of surprise, but

that didn't that doesn't travel well. But Danny, we've seen this year Sport in Kansas City were struggling. Came in here in one same with San Jose, so you don't take it for granted, but you do hold to add to their road wolves yet foul on Ladero at thirty five yards from the end. The end line on the far side the right was Nicoladero's playing in that right hand side midfield position. Brian's talked about his need to be disciplined on

that right hand side. He can drift inside and leave that outside for Cody Baker and we'll see, oh, Bed and JP fill that void to try and get those crosses in from that's made assists. So let's gonna be a free kick for the sound as in swinging free kick left foot of Ladero thirty five yards from the end. Like theke Men are up top of the box, Houston holding their line one yard outside the eighteen yard box. Ball comes in, they drop in potentially lockdown by Barlow as a misjudge, header mounts

towards Steve Clark. He was able to comfortably pick the ball up. As we're getting the thirteenth minute here and he quc pitch loom in the field remains nil nil. You know, I think both coaches will be relatively pleased. Ben Olson, you know it's team coming away from home. You mentioned I've not been right away from home. This is not an easy place to play, even when a sound is a little bit out of sorts recently, but they've been comfortable. They try to possess the board. Have looks a little

bit dangerous in transition. Haven't really tested Stephen Fry as they maybe would have liked. But for the opening thirteen minutes here he'll be happy, and the same for branch Mets. A couple of things the team can do better, but they're defending well. They're getting touched for Nicole Russ Knight has been involved, so that's steel true rold Sidey's chance. I think both coaches will be readily pleased. But for the Sounders, you've had a feeling there's one or

two more gears you can really tap into. In his first half and then start to really ask Houston's up questions. Bore goes into Rudy as middle of the field. He's able to spray the ball to the right hand side. Cody Baker tries to flick it in, deflects off Mikkel's back bounces up top of the box, headed in by Rusnack, eventually cleared by Bartlow. Casedo is able to knock GP over. The Sounders win the balls this near side the left hand side with Leo Chu tries to flick it around the corner,

It's saved by Corey Baird, former teammate of Jordan Morris Stanford. Casedo slows the game down. That the miss of Karaskia with Gold Cup in Panama was mentioned by Brian yesterday in his comment the time player will be a loss, as will of course Hector. Herrero's not feeling too well today. He's on

the bench but isn't able to start. He's been a real force for this team with three gold seven assists on the years so far, in addition to two red cards, one of them being of course, back in mid May when the sound was able to grind out a one meal win with a Paul roth Rock goal at the right. At the end of the game, they able to win it one nail on the back of two red cars by Houston as the ball goes back to Stephfron Friday inside his box decked out and all

blue tonight to ab Sasoko and Ab. It's nice easy introduction to the game. Steve it is and you know he's the player. Remember Ab was falling into the fire a couple of seasons back when you have to defend Checho Ritol pound in La and then a phenomenal job. And of course he's doing very well with a defiance as well. The things for it be tonight is,

look, he's not there to win the sound as the game. Just make sure you don't lose the team of the game, and that means get your tackles in connect sample passing as Michelle said, and I think he's done that so far. Ball gets flicked in by the arch, has to find Ruy Diez, just evades Ruy Diaz, Rosnecks head rolls through again to see Clark. Fifteenth minute here remains nil nil sound as Houston, beautiful night, picture

perfect evening to play soccer to get ready for the July fourth celebrations. Nice crowd on hand with the Mariner's playing next door earlier this afternoon Mcday of Sports in this Sodo area and again the Sounders well supported as ever as we look

around the stadium with Barla looks to try and knock it long. It's deflected one by Ladero Rosneck to Rudias twenty five yards from gold, which to Shoob doesn't goes left to Leo Chew top of the box, goes into Ladero, who's able to swing by giving away by Ladero, Cordebard's able to pick the

pocket of Chew. Double team by both Ladero and Chew won well by Ladero towards the left corner flag here on this near side, eventually won by Houstons Aliu goes off the shins of ali who's gonna be a Sounders thrown on this near side the left right in front of the Houston bench. I think one thing of sound has not done very well then it is how high they're winning the board back. I think they forced quite a few turnovers, nothing's come

from it yet. But then Nicodero lost the board, but it was his reaction he was right there pressing trying to win the that will please Branch mets Off because the team's reaction defensively when the board has been lost will be very good and maybe just one of those moments when they do want it high will be the one that finally gets on the break from Kale into bar season shoved over by yamark Amo's remonstrating the referee asking for the foul, which seemed pretty

obvious on oh Bert Fargus just a moment ago. It's going to be a free kick for Houston. But at tonight's match, sound as FC celebrates Ray Foundation, the charitable partner of the club, and their efforts to defend the right to play throughout Washington. Today. Rave has invested fifteen fields and communities throughout Washington as part of its twenty six Fields by two thousand and twenty six initiative aimed at building twenty six fields for free play in time for FIFA World

Cup twenty twenty six. To learn more, visit Ray Foundation dot org. Seventeenth minute here is the ball gets not long slip in the air by Tsko yeamark comes across, kings up, the danger knocks it out of bounces. It's near side the Houston right and I'm not surprised to see that. Because the dayling Waters struggled playing through the lines, They're gonna go a bit more

direct. I think the instruction came from the bench. Ben Nelson's been up and he's telling his team, we've gotta make runs in behind them, play a bit more direct or the sound has gone prepared to face that. Just so one here's another one. So they've struggled playing through. The Sounders have

given away boards. They may not try to buy pass the midfold completely as often as possible and try and get the ball in behind the Sounders back line and have the Sounders defenders running to war Stephan fright, which is never a good thing for the defender. Well, certainly watching games in preparation for this game from kickoff, when the ball goes back to her her area looks like old school nineteen eighties English football. They just launch it. Longs that four

guys on one side and they just launch it. We'll just see what happens. And as Kenone picks up a loose pass by Yaymark goes inside to bass, it given a go with youone foul by Sisoko, early yellow card in Sosoka, and that's certainly gonna put the defender on his heels. Yeah, we'll see just how much contact what's here. It was a poor giveaway by the Sounders architects of their own down four there and the Dynamo trying to get on transition the past. It wasn't that clean, but Sisco Mayor just left

his boot in. Referee had no hesitation, was very quick with the yellow card, and that will change how you can defend rest of the game. You can't be as aggressive. You've got to be careful if you're tackling. And it isn't a good spot for the Houston animal. We'll get a replay here. I mean he's laid yellow card. Maybe it's harsh, It's definitely a free kick. It's just like that, the exuberants to try and get involved in the game, and certainly the the first team play at MLS is

certainly a step er too, quicker than what is played at Defiance. And sometimes it's that split second decision and as times Soisoco gets it late, gets a yellow card, it's gonna be a free kick for Houston. The fast side left channel, twenty five thirty yards from the end line, left of center Varsity. With his right foot, He's gonna curl this in sounds,

holding a line about sixteen yards from Stephan Fry's goal. As Stephan Fry anchored to his goal line, a couple of Houston players playing off side they're gonna step away Sounders, drop board comes since step and fright comes out Cli Swell flatters into a Houston player. That was a nastic collision back of the head. Yeah, yeah, step has every right to go for his board's roll in his rights. The only issue is there the ball staying in the air

so long. Steph comes a long way and when a goalkeeper goes up like that, he's going to protect himself. I don't see exactly who's downful of animal, but had his back toward step and never made contact until the last moment, Spatschenko. Yeah, gentle dare, he doesn't see step at the last moment, has a little look. It's too late. Steps coming catches the bull does his job, but definitely a heavy collision there, and you just you know, Fan is on the pitch now. You hope he's okay,

but he's Both teams challes to grab a water break. Guess something structed from the sideline. Yeah, it was like stephron fries fist is the back of his head. Because we get a quick break on the field, we're gonna throw it down to Michelle. Thank you, Danny. Yeah, I wanted to circle back to something you said earlier about the fans and what a great atmosphere it is here tonight at loom And Field, and we brought up

something about the fans with head coach Brian Schmitzer in our production meeting. Is the fans were clearly disappointed and the outcome that the Sounders had the last time they took the pitch here when they took on Orlando and they audibly booed the team leaving the pitch just last week. We asked Brian about that and how the players were feeling about that, and he said he actually hasn't talk to any of the players about it, but he himself it hurts. It hurts

him when he hears the booze. But he did say he respects the Seattle fan base so much that he respects their passion and respect the fact that they have such high standards, and he wants to do better. He wants this team to live up to those expectations and surpass them every time they take the pitch, and so it's great to see them. Even after that outcome of the last match, the fans are back here cheering, positive, chanting,

singing, and it just shows how much this city loves this team. Yeah, thanks Michelle, certainly, Steve, you know, such a great start to this season, got off to a flyer and then it curtailed somewhat in May and June. Certain a lot with that build up of frustration. I think it wasn't. I think last week drawing particular, well, you felt the wind was there to be taken. And when that whistle blew and you listen, it's two pointed off to hold two wins in twelve or thirteen.

The fans are empty, ranting and the displeasure. But what I love about this fan basics did mission is do you know the next week they'll be back in foot voice and they are Yeah, certainly. The ball goes along and

Michel cuts it out de flets it with his clearance off. Ladero is going to be a throne for Houston, twenty yards from the corner flag on the fast side of the Houston left as Michael Let's played cents about this season playing left back today with a missing Daniel STIs as the ball gets knocked back out for another Houston throw. But this copyrighted audiocasts of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebroadcast without the Express Britain consent of Major League

Soccer until twenty third minute. Here at UC Pitch lumin Fields, the ball goes long down the Houston left hand side, the fast side, the Houston left runs out of bounds, Canone trying to control it. Cody Baker is in lockstep plex the ball in his hand. It's gonna be a Sounders throw. Cody Baker about eight yards from end line. As a third game, I believe in a row on that right back spot with a missing Alex Roldn

and certainly offensively he's in advanced positions. Brian Schmittzer says, from a lockdown defensive position, he's gonna have a long career in mlscent certainly player in his

first season. That's high praise from a player coach like Brian Schmittzer, but certainly his area to work on his offensively, and so the big shoes to fill with Alex Roldan's ability to go down that right hand side and delivered quality as Houston had the ball centered the field with Corey Bend comes off that right side, plays it to the fast side the left to Canoni, back to Michel to our tour coming in for the crew as he flicks the ball from

center to this near side the right with Escobar Barsie overlapping run plex a ball top goalscorer for Houston this year with eight goals on the year. He was one of the players who got a red card against the Sounders back in May as JP nudges down Casedo and it's going to be a free kick for Houston's near side the right. I think this is where it can get a bit danger for the Sounds with a decent and lost start. As we mentioned, the game's got into a little bit of a low now, a little bit

slow. There's giveaways. This could becoming a game about set pieces because the cality the Sounders want to play with Temple. Do you want to get their attacking guys, especially out on the run, keeping good possession. God Anamoll just frustrating them. Now. The Sounders need a second win here. It needs to find good possession in the attacking half. It's not happening yet and for the moment, the immediate danger is defending yet another free kick from a

white area. Barsie with the free kick thirty yards from the end line, right from the Sounders bench. They or two ten yards away or gets curled in. It doesn't miss the first manager GP clears it, but picked up by our tour top of the box, Corey Bett flicked to our tour. Switchenko comes across. Slice wide by Corey Bett. Was a chance of out thirteen yards out slices to step from the fires the left hand post goal kick Sounders. It was a very good chance there that the animals sort of fumbled

their way into the opportunity. It wasn't anything intricate or precise, but when it did fall to Corey Bird, I mean he's twelve thirteen yards out an angle, wildly misses the target there. Would have at least wanted to work stret and fright. But Ben also and the men will be encouraged that the last five minutes here just beginning to gain a strong hold onto the game, and the Sounders have to expish good possession, especially attack and half fuffing we've

not seen for the past few minutes. Yeah, Corey bed three goals too assists on the year, so Fast scored two games to go in there four one win against San Jose. Les Houston with the ball with Corey bed comes to this near site the right loose ball by Bed well By now who read the danger step forward Escobar, let it go new Clex. The balls they have to drive forward

pass Corey Bed placed into the feet of Ladera. Going one side's pass down the line. Leo Chook got some space inside the box left hand side were on the six yard bucks cut out eventually by Ethan Barlow with his heel cleared out of bounds for as Sounders throwing this near side then left right in front of the Houston bench. But Steve good break by the said it was really good football and creditor Knew who never paniced, creates an opportunity there and the

touch from Ladera was magic. Leo jew has got to play that earlier. It's got to be early. Roul he's running Breaf, he's next to get there. You don't have to find a man in that situation. Put the ball into the space, give round a chance to get there. With every touch Leo Choo talk, the angle got smaller and smaller. In the end. You have to be so precise to find roll and you couldn't. And

Houston had two or three guys back. If you swing that in early, give run a chance to run back, they finish running towards their own goal keepers a Norman n anything can happen. I think Leo Chu the second third touch just delayed and the space was gone. But a good encouraging and attack from the sounder to see if you played that position many times I've seen Leo cho'd do it, you know, for assist for Jordan Morris on a number

of occasions this year and need to played a little bit earlier. And that's what he's done. When it's been he's played it early, it's paid it earlier. I think when you have time to really beat a man. Look, yes, you couldn't do it. You're out on the break. The backland is not set. It's rudy days. Give him even half a chance to get there. He like, he gets there. As you delay and

delayed, the gap becomes smaller. Then you have to be so precise and it's hard to put off at foot speed, and that's when the chance was lost. Is it something different with a Ruby DS versus like a George Morris is in full flight where you feel you can put the ball in and George Morris is gonna get that because of a speed? I think so. Because Raul had the head start and began to get caught, the gap began to plows. So I think with Raoul, you've gotta play even earlier because Sean

is gonna get there. He'll beat his man. And that did happen with Raul. Leo Chu tries to cut the ball back. He was in a similar position, this time gets cut out again by Houston with Escobar comes away that knocks it down the line. Marston tries to flick it around the corner, but he goes backwards back to his own goal and the Sounders were able

to pick it up a little bit of concerted pressure. Now for the Sounders in Houston dynamo defensive half of the field, as JP this near side, the left comes back inside Obed Vargas center circle, goes to Yama to ab as a Sounders settled down, trying to maintain possession. Eleven men behind the ball for Houston, Ali impresses the ballban backs office to circle, tries to knock it long as ambitious pass towards Cody. Baker's gonna roll over the end

line free Houston gold kick remains Sounders nil to Custon nil. Yeah, and you just roll d Just watching these body language, they will be frustrated. He's saying, look, guy, to slow it down. We're trying to be a bit too direct. And the reason for that is Sounder has had a good opening fifteen minutes or sold the last twelve thirteen minutes haven't been able to find the game. They're not really playing through JP, not playing for

Russ Knack. We've hardly mentioned Ruby, Diaz and Soul. You start to get a bit more desperate, play a bit more direct and losing the board and just got to get your foot on the board. Do what you do well, Yes, I have a chance scating transition, do so. But otherwise it can be a lot more patient trying to force ports into read yes, and that's not his game and he was just letting the team know,

guys, I'm not I'm never gonna get to that. So a bit more patience from the Sounders because they sort of rust their way in terms of possession in the last fifteen minutes or so. Yeah, it's Sounders nil Dynamo O'Neil. Here you qu see pitch looming fields. Ethan Bartler tries to skip by. It does and Kuson come away with It's won by the Sounders. Like around the corner by Obed Vargus, Caseder has knocks over Vargas wins the ball.

Middle of the field comes to this nearside the right with Barsi little Passeskavar who's or some space, and maneuver places it square alongside the eighteen yard box cut out well by Sasoko. As the Sounders hold their line five yards outside the eighteen yard boxers, Dynamo maintained possession. Middle of the field. Our tower goes back. Spitchenko tries play a dago ball over Cody Baker. He does it, pounces all the way through to Kennone knocked out a bounce for

Cody Baker and referee give us it to Dynamo. I think the fans and certainly Cody Baker thought it came off the Houston winger. But it's gonna be a Dynamo throwing the fast side. The Dynamo left five yards from the end line. Mcale trots up the left back, six foot three Dynamo two player last year signed in the offseason. As we mentioned, sixteen players coming into this squad for twenty twenty three, so a big turnover of players. The ball goes on the left hand side to Kenone tries to put it in a

Bisco takes a touch asis a referee puts his flag up. It's gonna be a free kick for the Sounders. Save step and Fry reasonably quiet so far. Ten clean sheets on the year, eight clean sheets at home. Are you surprised that Fry or new Who or Yama or even Jackson Reagan didn't get a shout for MLS Auster, Jackson Reagan and Brad Evans And I've mentioned on the podcast because I think he's been fantastic, but that's maybe a victim of

being an unknown quantity. People aren't expecting him too. But he's hardly put a foot wrong and a team that hasn't done so well defensively has been very good. Alio down the left hand side towards the end like gets him behind the gamer gam I hands behind his back, hosted the ball down. It's a tracking backup of it off our guess knocks it over the end line for a Houston corner kick. Remains Sounders nil, Houston nil. The score update

is presented by regents. You see thirty two minutes almost gone nil nil. Both coaches reasonably happy, reasonably. I think branch Mets are probably a bit more frustrated, but I think his team can give more. For the Dynamo team, he has not been good away from home historically here and in general this season. There's a fifty fifty possession. They've had their chance of their

set pieces. Don't be happy. The Sounders just haven't tested that back line enough in the last fifteen minutes or so, as started decent in our starts. So I think branch Mets are because the US have to win. You really feel another home game you only get so many of these back to back drop points last week. You don't want to make that happy and right now the Animore pretty comfortable defensive me. You got try and put him mind a lot more pressure. Yep, just like Orlando in the first half last week,

Houston almost fifty two percent possession against the Sounders forty eight. It's not something the Sounders of experienced too much this year. Orlando came in with a very attack minded team, gave it everything. Was a good game. It was neil nil as Houston higher in seven players inside the sound of six yard parks sitting on top of Stephen fry making it awkward for the Sounders goalkeeper as the sounds have to drop in very very deep. It's gonna be an instrument

corner kick for Bossie. As a referee tries to organize, speaking to Escobar, tries to put some order so that massive players on top of stepfro and fryers bars, He's gonna curl this ball with his right foot, comes in short and low, easily cleared by Yaymark's back to bars. You know he's able to play in a little higher longer this time. Clear as yet knew who rolls out for a sound As gold kick. It flicked off Knew Who, sound As players not agreen, and eventually the sister referee butchers flag up,

it's gonna be a goal kick for the Sounds. A little bit of confusion, there's day. Yeah, it looked like it may have came off of Knew Who, which is why Bottle didn't quite get there. But the Sounders were fairy adamant in Cuba. Brash mets from the bench that that did not come off Knew Who, and the referee credit to him, changed his mind very quickly over ruled the assistant referee and said, hey, that's a gold kick and the Sounds now with another goal kicker, chance to pulld up

from the back. But the dynamore not making the most of their sepiece opporunities. They've found it quite a few of them so far here this afternoon receiv YEP four shots for the Sounders, three shots for Houston. The game has been played mostly in the middle third of the field. If you breakaways in transition, if you giveaways of all out chances for both teams, but for most part of the sound has been reasonably comfortable defending Stefn fries goal as they

build on the fast side. The sounds right Cody Baker, Let's go back to JP pressed well by Barsi as he drops off again, allows Gaimar and Sosoko some time and space to build. Know when the ball goes into the midfield, that's when they press. Certainly under Ben Olson. As Brian Schwetzer mentioned by Schmizer esk in terms of his coaching style old school likes character and his players hard work. The ball gets flicked inside by Chooke giving away,

picked up by Kaisdo. It's a bed back to Kaisdo middle of the fields, able to turn, plays the ball out for the fast side to the left to mckel stumbles on the ball for split second, comes back to Kaiseedo as the sounder trying to press a little higher, try to win this ball, pick up the temper looking for that opening goal. Here Escobar in front

of the Houston bench comes inside to our tour. It's inside the bed flicked around the corner well to Barsi, challenged Byoberd Vargas where the danger well knocks it out of bounds. Were Dynamo thrown right in front of Brian Schmitzer on the Sounders bench remains Neil Neil. Here at a goosey pitch, the Looman

fields a son starts to set over the west stand. Here Throwne comes into alle flicks inside to BARSI press well by Rusneck, and by Ladero and by Vargas, but it's Houston does somehow come away with it with our tour to Rusnack now a little bit higher in his press, more energy and his press as rude As follows the ball all the way back to Steve Clark. That takes a touch. Schmitz mentioned it likes to take some chances, and she knocks the ball down the line given away to Leo Chu. Poor header by

Chow knocks it out of bounds. It's gonna be a throne for Houston. I think as the half is waiting going, I think both cultures straight and level will grow a little bit more. The game beginning to lose a bit of quality, a lot of simple giveaways, technical mistakes, things that you weren't necessarily seeing at the start of the game. We're now beginning to see a bit more. I think the first team to really get their quality on

the board in the attacking calf in the final third. He's gonna have a real chance to win this game because they've sort of been playing in the middle. You attack, we attack without too much punch to the attack. It's just crying up for a moment of quantity or sustain quality, which neither side has given yet. So I think the frustration will be there for that reason

for both teams. That's of all. The ball there'side. The right comes inside square to bed Flix, it over the top to Canone, tracked well by Cody Baker. Bryan Schmitzer said, lockdown defender, certainly no problem there as he tracked his winger into the eighteen yard box and let the ball roll into the arms of Stephan Frey's able to roll it out to new hoots over a vargus. Then now with a b Sisoka with baller his feet to yam

out fast side. The right drives forward, got some space in front of it, comes ten yards square, JP knocks along down the line William Runnery. Cody Baker likes the ball well off his toe. It's knocked out of bounds by Michael. It's gonna be a Sounders throwing eight yards from the corner flag getting a thirty eighth minute here Sounders nil, Dynamo nil. Even the

split and shot some possessions so far. Steve mentioned a little bit of magic needed to break this up and get this crowd on site, gets some energy in the stadium as the fans continue to stand in the lower ball supporting their team. As the ball gets launched in it drops the ruy dass click around the corner. If you got a chance well defended eventually by Sviatchenko, it's gonna be a corner kick for the Sounders. I think he's given a gold

kick here, a free which I don't understand. Oh yeah, a round is pleading his case. I don't know how that can be a goal kick. We're gonna say maybe a free se stuff that we've not seen. Round gets there first goals. That's a corner kick. There's a corner kick that I think for I always trying to get the ball towards the Board's defended well at the end by the Dynable. But it's defended well, should be a corner kick. The same Clarks he thinks the system referee, I'm quite sure

what he's arguing about. He got his goal kick. It's just that Portland timbers blood. It's still in it. Yeah, yeah, and and the fans don't forget their very oble hair. When his name was announced there was a little couple of bruise went around here, so he'll know that he'll thry on it like challenged by our tour and j JP clicked the ball well from the clearance from Steve Clark of his chest flicked around the corner, very similar to AB that fell a little bit late. I was going to say that

this branch messages had a world who gets this free? What is the difference now? I don't think abels the adult card. I don't think that was the endo card. But if AB is a yellow card to referee, then

you've got to be consistent. Is in the location on the field, but which it shouldn't be It shouldn't Yeah, if it's a foul, yeah, I think AB was harshly done and that day it was late to our part of got court lay and I think judging about how you've left the game murder, then you've got to bring out a cart And that was exactly the point. Bran Semester was making sounds left hand side whipped him by Ladero. It's

in that spot between goalkeeper and back line. Just as Steve zack Junin mentioned this time, it was an early delivery from about twenty five yards out left channel. It was a good spot. It eluded Rudy Asphalts into the hands of Steve Clark. Yeah, well done, Gonadero. And that's why you play that early. You picked up on the left hand side. You've got to put the board just into the danger era. You don't always have to

try and find the man on that occasion. It turned out okay for the Dynamo, but that kind of past I needed so much confusion, running towards your own goalkeeper's coming out, not sure what's happening, and Raoul was about a foot away from getting at the end of that good early board. Just

the timing a little bit off on the occasion. Sounders in possession, no real pressure on A. B. Sosoko as he plays the ball into Obed Vargas, almost given away by pressure on by Barsi, but Sounders retained possession. Laid alongside the back forth with Sosoka to this near side the left with new slides the ball to Rosnacking. Somewhat quiet in this first half. Much about Cusson's press in the middle of the field done a good job keeping it

tight. As the Sounder trying to builds fartside the right goes into Ladera's feet pressure for Michel nothing forward has to go back, but the Sounders retain possession on the far side the right. The Darro back on his left foot comes to gps able to shift the ball to his right foot, looking to switch the point of attech Sosoko maintain the possession and see this is possession, but it's about possession with the purpose. Yeah it's not. But then also sat

down calmly allowing the sound of center back to have it. You have to try and penetrate, make parts of that right lines and then try to sweet side because you can get into a point of overpassing and the sound as we're moving the boat around the back without really shifting the Houston animal shape and now having to defend again in transition for a poor giveaway, Corey bed with the ball trying to inflict totally. You find it almost off. This toe bounces

inside the box. It eluded abs or soak over the top. It was half a yard from the toe of Alleu. Isn't able to bring it down. It's to be a goal gime for that the Sounders. Fortunate for the Sounders, unlucky for the animal. We watched that unfold. It was a lovely idea by colly Bird. The reverse pass just overhead, hought the sounder's back link completely off guard. If that passes the touchable accurate? There one

do you want? And went to watch the five ball found on over at Vargas the middle of the field by Barsi Sounds trying to get it going and Brian's message're gonna be about tempo second half, trying to pick this game up a little bit, trying to find some speed in their players. A little bit too predictable as the two tries to wriggle pass. Escobar defending well,

but rolls out of bounds three yards from the corner flag. This near side the left with Leo Chow throws it in to rosneck top corner of the box, goes into the feet of the Darrow. Two balls on the field. The referee're going to stop the ball stop. The game now continues forward towards the end line. La Darro eventually cleared by the Dynamo. How has he not stopped the game. I've never never seen that concede us two boards in a fitch while the referee lets it go, Leo two runs over, knocks

it out of bounce, keep the game going. It's the ball at JP's feet middle of the field. Eleven men behind the ball for Houston defending deep block of four. In the back block of four midfield, Leo Choo whips it in. This sigment was a good delivery, but too close to the goalkeeper collected his lead by Steve Clark. Remains nil nil. Yeah, decent idea from Chu and I will just say he's fighting a game well when missing

for the last of the middle and now coming back alive. The sound of scene look at their most dangerous when Leo Choo's involved, when he's able to get on the board and run on the back line, make things happen. If you lose the ball eighteen ninety yards board, it's okay. So I think it's gonna be directed confident because he has the skill set that knowing else on the team has, and without Jordan Morris the pace and his team goes

away too. So you need the little choose a bit more active in that attacking further, especially when I Escobar, I think he can win that matchup. We've not seen it enough in his first half when he has been active, its look good. When he hasn't, the sound As I've really struggled to get a game rowing, especially as you mentioned, you haven't really found Albert Russne have not played through him at all, and that will be a

focus of Crian Spenser's halftime message. How can we play through our line centrally a bit more because we have not done that well. Brian mentioned about Ladera holding his position the right coming in so much to kind of open up that right channel. But again Ladera has been, you know, to be quiet and he's just his hands in the air as the Sounders just go from side

to side, nothing forward and backward. No penetration through the lines at this point is get into the forty fifth minute here, see what injury time the referee is given. It's been a good clash of head to Expatchenko, so expect a couple of minutes. The ball get shifted the fast side of the right Cody Baker overlapping run by Obert Vargas. Baker comes in to JP to Obed Vargas fast side the right, twenty yards for the end line, cut

out by Houston. Son in Houston playing with a team of confidence, so it doesn't look like a team with one win on the season away from home. All that the team that's got three wins from their last four games, those wins being San Jose and two against the lafc As the ball with the sound As fast side the right comes inside to Ladera, to Russneck, most of the legs of the referee out of the left hand side to Leo Chow down the line towards the end line. You're back, he'll by Darrow.

Cho didn't continue his run but cut out well By knew it was the extra masstopper. Time is two minutes with the Sounders now in possession, the attacking third of the field whipped him by JP easily cut out by Houston, knocks it long and Steve is about two predictable now right now the intra pass I think listen dannam all credit to them, very organized, compact defense and played against Ben Olson and he's a guy who knew how to defend all down the

line. They are two in a chance inside the box towards the six cuts it back. There was to us nap top of the six. Eventually a really good challenge by was Caisedo. I think on the recovery the combination of Casedo need for bartload's gonna be a Sounders corner kick, a wonderful chance for the Sounders of the death here the first half, while we were just saying two passes too predictable, suddenly a passing behind dynamic think nil, choose just

missus Rusna kick. I mean he's trying to find his feet. I'm not sure exactly why he can't connects. Scene should be a routine tapping. Listen, give Cassado credit. He gets back and makes an excellent tackle. I think Russna just missy shot, just missy shot. Yeah, who was look like he played to his right for versus his last but yes, yes, more comes in cleared eventually by Houston. It's like Houston player goes down the

fields Casedo, it's gonna be a free kick for the Dynamo. You're gonna try and see this last minute or so out as it's gonna be free kick of the feet of Steve Clark remains Sounders nil Dynamo nil and this score up Nate is presented by Providence Swedish. If you get to the final thirty seconds. As the time ticks away, referee Mendoza looking at his watch as the Sounders win the ball, Let's go into Rude Pas challenge by Switchenkok Rude Years

goes down, pops back up again. Be a sound of story in the fast side of the right with Cody Baker, and there's the referees whistle, my muster reporting that first half. Steve your final thoughts, Yeah, I think as the game went on, the frustration grew because I don't think resent Raouls had a touch in the last twenty minutes. I don't think it Sounds have been as dynamic as they needed to be at times. Yes, having given much away defensively, so that's a positive and a plus, but not

quick enough in the final third. It's a bit labor it's a bit slow when it has been directed, has been breaking lines, it has been a good forward pass. The team has looked somewhat dangerous. So I think for the Sounders, listen, you have to give more in the second half. You're still in the game. It's in your hands. But Bryan Schmtzer, he'll be frustrated with this number home game and you've let forty five minutes go by where you've not been at your best or really tested Clark in the Houston

Dynamo goal. So he'll be maybe a bit of a fiery speech again at halftime, and he needs his top players. It's leaders at this point to really step up in a second half. Bigtime plans need to step out in big time moments. But we'll take a short break. Jackson, Felts and peat Field will be taken over halftime duties as James Riley will go down on the field with Brad Evans and play at two verses twenty six to meet bradon James against twenty six young players out on EQC pitch at Louman Field. But

at halftime here it sounds nail Dynamo, nail. At Providence, we're saying yes to the youth of our community by investing in mental health resources for those who needed the most. The man who was in the booth for pregame and coming up for postgame

James Riley and our broadcast partner here, Brad Evans. Those two are gonna take on twenty six kids here at Emerald Cuccino Pitch of lou Winfield. So we'll take you through that here in a few moments. But Pete, very quickly, let's talk about the zero zero between Seattle and Houston. What are you seeing through forty five minutes? Well, I like the first twenty minutes. I thought the Sounders moved the ball quickly, they moved off the ball.

Well, there was good combinations. They put Houston on their back heels a little bit. But as you know, games do, they flow back and forth. Houston certainly had a couple of chances for I came up big on a dangerous cross that on a free kick for Houston. So then in

the last five minutes I thought Seattle had a number of good chances. Thirty ninth minute, ruidias if he had a little bit of a better touch, which maybe comes with more form right at more playing moments, then I think he gets a chance to put it in the back of the net and or even draw a penalty kick. And then Ruidia has had a really good ball a couple of minutes later played into him from Nico, which we talked about before the game. If Niko can slip him into dangerous spots and he was

just about a stride off of that. And then in the forty third minute, Chew had a good chance as well, got to the end line like he's been doing, gets his cross off, but it's behind russ Neck a little bit. So it's that little bit of quality right to finish the product and make sure that make sure that they services right and the paces right. So they've had chances. But y'all so gonna give Houston credit as well. Barred upfront is dangerous and Abraham is also a player that you know. This

is it. It's a forty five minute game now, yep. Each team has had their opportunities absolutely zero zero between the Sounders and Houston. Should note the Sounder's bench includes Freddie Montero, a Bear Reed, Baker White and Kellen Rowe, Stephan Cleveland, how Uter Its former Seattle University player brought up from Tocomb to defiance, Josh Tensio, and Dylan Tevis. So we'll see how Brian Schezer changes this thing and can find a goal here and get three points

out of this match with the Dynamo. On's take a break here on the halftime show, we'll come back and give you some play by playing for James Riley and Brad Evans. Here at the half we are witnessing a game here between Brad Evans and James Riley versus twenty six kids, and I believe the final whistle has just been called a three minute game. It appears took the entire length of our commercial break. We were hoping to do play by play but it just ended as shocking three nothing win for the twenty six kids. Amazing game there as James Riley and Brad

Evans just couldn't cover the defensive end. The Sounders mascot playing the goalkeeper for the twenty six kids really one spectacular safe that really the moment of this match pet was when Kellen Rowe came on for warmups for the Sounders bench players. He joined Brad Evans and James Riley. We saw Kellen make his way to

the prima sists cut a ball into James Riley. Eventually it goes through the net for a goal, but then the referee steps in and says no goal callan rone not allowed to play, gave him the red card and the goal was waved off. Three nothing win for the kids and impressive performance. Yeah, very impressive. I remember Brad and James Riley being a little quicker, I'll be honest. Disappointing, Yeah, yeah, so that's it's lovely to see those kids are so excited to be run around the field. Half of

them doing the Ronaldo. They're sliding on their knees on the turf. But they brought out great energy where they came running out. They it's a thrill, you know what for these kids are probably six, seven, eight years old, and they're representing what's gonna happen around our city with these twenty six fields that the Ray Foundation's putting in. So that is great. Good for Brad and Zachowani was on the sidelines cheering them on, and Nagel. Good

for Lamar having a red card in pocket ready to use it rightfully. So on kellen Roe. So yeah, that's fun. I can't really tell the shape of the twenty six. I don't know if it's a thirteen ten. I think I think we could just call it a twenty six zero. Yeah, yeah, that's fun. No, I think I think he had the right take, though it's disappointing for for Brad and James. You know,

we were just expecting more for them to get zero goals. It's uh, you know, it's really just a shameful effort and that they should be absolutely embarrassed and uh yeah, it's just a really, really too bad. They couldn't even get one ball in the back of the nets. Final score kids kids three and uh, Brad and James zero. That's it for the match. Here loomingfield here at the half. Now back to Sounders Dynamo action. The game is zero zero. Sounders need to find the back of the net.

We need to see this team score a goal. Can Brian Schmitzer and his cluck do it? We'll hand things back off to Danny Jackson, Steve Zakwani and Michelle Luck on the sideline. As the Sounders get ready to start this second half. It's Sounders nil, Houston Dynamo nil and somewhat kg. First half not too much to report home by it Sounds five shots on goal, one

corner kick. The Gus sums up that first half performance. There was some chances, some half chances and turnovers early on they or two a couple of chances to put the ball in wasn't able to connect, but the Sounds able to pick up the possession as Houston get the ball going with Corey Baird and Switchenko launches it long from centers near site the left, challenge on to Ladero as the sounds get going quickly with Russneck driving forward across the halfway like the

fast side of the left. The orchewing support receives the ball twenty five yards from the end line, comes inside short to Ruy Diaz. To be able to turn on its right foot, t has to switch the point of a tech cut out well by Kenone and Allie, who plays it short, challenged by Ladero, Houston retained possession and with that, Michelle, I know you had some conversation with Brian Schmidt, so we're gonna throw it down to you.

Thank you. Yes, just talk to coach Schmittz as we were walking back out onto the pitch to start the second half, and I asked him kind of his thoughts on the first half, and he said, well, first and foremost, we should be winning. He really thinks his team should be up right now. And I asked him kind of how the team was feeling in the second half in the locker room the message to them, and he told me that they all came in with their shoulders down. They were

really disappointed. After that first half and the first thing he said to them was get your shoulders up. Bull comes in brilliantly by spent Chanko. It was a chance of a good ball from the right hand side by Cody Baker. Whip today well, it was a real cross of quality. It was half played by Houston fell to defeat of Loodaro just like last week in the first half for the first minute or two he had a chance. The Simons block for conicating the sound is have it, but Dara whips it in top

of the six shot bocks sound is asking for a hound ball? Is it deflected? Clarence by Houston. As the ball travels back to Stephan Frye, Michelle, you gonna thrit it down to you to finish your thought. Yes, coach s Mets are saying to the team, you know, keep their heads up. They have nothing to be mad about other than being not ahead. That they're doing everything they possibly can against a tough to Houston team that's

making it really difficult, especially giving their slowing tactics. Branch Smantser also cited the refereeing, but again those are things that are out of their control. One thing to watch coming into the second half is that Raoul is on a pitch count, so if you will, and so not quite sure how much longer he will be in this match. Brian said he does not want taking out, but sometimes that's a little out of their hands. Yeah, medical

staff controls that. As the ball gets flicked on rail, Rudy has trying to chase it in see if cut collects. But as we know, Steve Brian Schmitzer's favorite saying is control the controllables, certainly looking for his team to do that in the second half. To see from a standpoint of Brian Schmittzer and the individual players, at some point, Brian can say things at the half time or before the game, but the big time players have to step

up and do big time moments. Yeah, time play Yeah, and actually, you know, half time, I thought maybe branch Metz goes in there gives a fiery speech to what I think about it. I don't think that's what his team needs. I mean, they know what they need to do, and I like that for branch Betz. Listen, nothing to be down about. We have a whole half ahead of us. If we six one or two things, we can win this game. And I think it's been a good start for the second half. The chance on the day or day

you just think if he gets they looking quicker, can he score. It's just one step too slow for the Sounders, but they're not on the door. It's been a good starts in the second half. The whole game so far has been inside the dynamo half, which is what you want. It's what we used to seeing at luman Field. I think Rusnak and Rudiaz I've had more touches in it's opening three four minutes than they had in that final

twenty minutes of the first half. Soul all good signs. It's gonna take one goal to really open the front gates, but until that happens, the frustration and nervous energy will amount. Marcia out to the fast side of the right to escob Our whipst in this allue the head the top of the box,

Spide bite up to half the post. It was a brilliant strike from out twenty five yards with our tours weaker left, but strikes the left hand post of sefron fright goal, but assistant referee puts his flag up for the rebound Steve as a chance by Houston, I mean wu strike first of all, I mean to catch that that sweetly with the left foot. Stephen Fry has no chance. If that nestles two inches inside of it's a goal Dan

and up one nail. Sometimes you need luck, and it may be something like that that just turns the sound as luck, because in recent weeks it feels like that would have hit the post I've gone in. This time it bounces out the offside goals as sound as way, and it makes me things like that that shows your luck is turning. But it's a warning sign as

long as it's nil nil. And even if you're dominating Sounders half so far, second half, it takes one chance and you can be behind and the sound has got fortunate it yep and away team that has speed and some quality in attacking and thirty and really careful. That's why putting away your chances when

they come it's gonna be so important the second half. As Leo two picks it up fast side the left back to New who let's give it that line up for the Sounds, no changes in personnel, step and Frying Gola back for Baker, Gamarssoko and Knew who opened Vargas alongside JP in the middle of Nicoladero, Roznak in the ten, Leo two on the left and Railery Diez as the number nine and for Houston four three three Steve clarking goal a back

four of Escobar, Bartler, Venchenko and Michael midfield three of Basi our tour at Sado and then bed Aliu and Kennone up front as new who drives forward in the fast light left twenty five yards from the end line, finds Ladera on the left hand side towards the end line, flicks at the back post towards Cody Baker goes up challenge well by Michael six foot three frame of Michael gets up heads it clear, tries to play to Kenone on the left hand

side, right in front of the Sounders bench, and it's gonna roll out of play for US Sounders. Throwing Cody Baker back to Yamar on his hundredth game tonight for the Sounders. So he knocks the ball down the line out of bounds. Mccuson will pick it up for a throwing remains nil No. But that's that's an example there, Danny. It's just been sloppy, you know. Jo Para normally controls. That makes a crisp pass and the attack

moves on. But it's a difficult boarding to him by Yams a bit in the air, he has to take an extra touch and the ball goes out of play. So I think Brian Spretch is probably the one thing he's calling for, just a little bit more quality from his key guys. You know that's a past job. Polo should complete the cross earlier. For Nikoladero, it's it's high and it's in the air for a long time. Doesn't really give Raoulo Rusnaki was in the box a chance to really get after it.

So it's fine margins in the sport, it's small details, and I think where MLS is at now, you have to have those four details figured out because in the past you could be below your best four weeks out of time and win games. Now it's not like that you have to show up every game. Balling behind, Rurie Diaz has a chance in the box defending well by Sveetchenko. He just leans into Rurie Diaz rail goes to the deck. The ball goes over the end line for a goal kick from Houston. But

a good ball good chance for the Sounds. But that's where the sound has been at their best. It's when it's been a direct pass forward, whether it's Leo Chewing behind knew who in behind the one time, or Ruth Diaz on this occasion. We love the side to side passing trying to find the space, but at some point it's got go forward. And when a Sounders have at least look somewhat dangerous because when they've tried to play that forward pass. On that occasion, Ruth Yas was well defended as to be said,

but that's probably what the sound as. I'm looking for more of forward passes in behind the dynamill underground around the corner and give the attacking players up with the chase and run onto or certainly the pace tempos picked up as we see the speed of play to get the ball back in as the balls in the hands of Cody Baker on the near side the right goes into JP thirty yards from the end line, so to find Ladero has been active in the second

half, as Brian Schwitzer said. If Ladero scored the goal last week in the first few minutes, the opinion of his performance have been a whole lot different as Cody Baker comes right through the back of kinone somewhat rash challenge from the young man. We've seen that before. I think Brian likes the ficin us of Cody Bakers. But sometimes you just gotta take a breath, Yeah, pushing back, don't need to make a foul. Yeah. And we

may have had complaints about the so call's yellow card. That's the yellow card. I mean he comes in right behind, doesn't win the ball, and I think again, your opponent is on the touch line in he's on half back to gold, not going anywhere get there closer space, nor need to go to brown. But it's one of those things you'll learn through experience. It's a poor yellow card to give away. And Cody Baker now also has to win his best behavior tooker back four now on the yellow card. They

episode Soca and Baker both on the yellows, both young men. Experience is needed. Now all get switched the chest of Switchenkirls deal with that type of pass. He launches it long, Ali who was able to bring it down nicely, defended well and type by Sasoga wins. The ball goes to Laderos. He comes away. They plays both Dakely across the halfway line to Cody

Baker right in front the Sounder's bench, sidesteps kenone comes inside. Cody Baker driving pass for Mcalvin Keell does a good job bringing body between ball and player. Coady Baker needs to be a little bit careful as a nibble gets called on a foul. It's just got a yellow cart. It needs to run away, walk away, you said, a little bit of experienced Stevie has got over the last couple of months. And yeah, just take a breath.

Yeah he's got one more foul in him now, because referee there says listen and be careful, because yeah, good run by Cody Baker loses the boat loved infuse us to track back, but again commits a foul and the Dana Moore listen, that's smart. They're gonna anytime Cody Baker's close and even just barely brushes a player, they go into the ground. So he's gotta be careful, understand what the game is gonna be now and has to be on his best paper. And the referee now has told him this that's your

last one. The next one is an early bath for you. Well tonight's matches presents by Regent's Blue Shield, the official health plan partner of sound as FC visit Regents dot com today And with that, in this slight break and play, we're gonna throw it down to Michelle lesigline. Thank you, Danny.

When we were talking to head coach Brian Schwenzer during our production meeting, we were talking about that right back spot specifically and the difference between Cody Baker and Alex rolled On and how both of them are different in a sense, and that Alex is more of an attacking defender and had to work on his defense, while Cody Baker is more of a defending player and had to work on his attacking side. We asked Brian which one was harder, and he

said, of course the attacking. So yes, while Cody is being very aggressive here, it's great to see him getting up the field and really trying to own that attack. You the side of the game in that position, well, thanks Michelle, and from that vantage point, and I'll show if you can see it, but we see Kellen Roads stripping off and maybe alful like switch for that man Cody Baker, who we just talked about. We'll see there's gonna be a free kick for Houston. Before we get Kellen Row

on the field. Bossy right in front of his bench, drives it guidlate to the fo post. Ethan Bottler goes up, bounces over the top and over the end line for sounds goal kite remains no no Stephan fright lunch Along tries to find Leo Chio on the run. Well cut out by casdo Houston are going to come again? Corey bed back to goal, turns away from pression our tour hit the post of that driven left footed shot from the angle. Just a few moments ago, as Bassi turns the corner, plays the

ball into Bed. It's got time of space the fast side the right, no pressure. New backs off Escobar towards the end line. It's gonna be new who gets body between ball and player. Comes away with the nice days drives forward looking for options. Cody Baker opening himself up the right and side pressed by Kennone driven to the ground. Free kick for the Sounders and that

foul like Canoni, he's asking for a shoulder and shoulder. There's gonna be a free kick for the Sounders. And and I will see that substitution being made, and it's gonna be kell and Rowe, and it's gonna be Cody Baker, who's gonna make way a little bit of experience and Keller Row three hundred plus appearances in his MLS career comes on for the player that just recently signed his first professional on track for the Sounders and puts in another good shift

on that right back spot. Well, Steve, what does Cale Row brings to the field now a replacement of Cody Baker. Yeah, I think experience, and I think especially in the attacking half, just compulsion on the board probably could connect a few more passes, not dynamic running like Cody Baker, and I think defensively will be disciplined in the right position when it needs to be. I'm in a very, very vast experienced player and it was probably

saving probably Baker from himself. Fair brashments. Yep leo Chu left corner of the box comes, It tries to find the ball, it's JP's feet, gets scrambled around, eventually cleared by Houston. It was a late challenge by j. He more of a tangle of legs put the referee. It puts the whistle to his mouth caused a free kick for the Dynamo inside the eighteen yard box. But Sounders there was a bit of back and fourth Sounders eventue came away with it. Brusnak was down the line to Leo Chew ken It

was just that quality of delivery from that left hand side. I was able to find this mark. But sound as FC socket is presented by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of sound as FC. Because we're here at EQUC Pitch at Looming Field ninety three point three KGr FM sound As Nil to Houston Dynamo Nil Houston comes in to Looming Field tonight. One win on the season,

seven losses, Sounders eight clean sheets at home. Continue to have a clean sheet tonight because the ball goes into the feet of Leo Chew comes inside JP inside the Houston half of the field for the feet of Ladero to Chew tries to strike from an angle easily collected by Steve Clark, but certainly Steve it feels like there's a bit more pace in the game. Ladera looks a lot

more active and there is there is. You've got to give a sound as a bit of credit there where in the first half time to feel a bit labored, a little bit forced, a little bit slow side to side. We'll see a lot more forward past thin a second half. Ladera's finding little pockets centrally overloading next to Rusnack, which is why he's playing in the rand sign more in the first place, and the Sounds getting a few more chances from it, still yet to create that big, big chance that you maybe

want to fall toward the likes of the Ruby Diaz. They're probing, and we have to wonder how many minutes more Brown has in him tonight hasn't been able to get involved in the game inside the box how he would like encouraging signs from the Sounds. But Ben also will still be relatively comfortable because they're not being stretched or Steve Clark isn't diving left right in center having to make saves. It's good from the sounders. Still, this team can go up

another gear. All goes along from Bartlow cut out well by Yamo, goes down the line, but there are slides. There was a following the see of the yellow cards. It was on Mchael. It was a followed through on Ladera who went to ground to slide, played the board to Kelly Rowe got plattered into late by Michael's gonna be a yellow card on the Houston Dynamo

left back. And see to your point, let's look at the bench for the Sounders, Josh A Tensio, Red Baker, Whiting hell Uderitz called in from Tacoma Defiance because of Jackson Reagan's suspension tonight in Oriaga's injury seth Cleveland the goal. But the players that we're looking has had a Montero at Bear and Dylan Tavis. Yeah, and I think it best probably the first one off the bench if Raoul goes out. You know Freddie at this point we know

what he brings as well. So those are the two first options I believe for tonight. And as this game drags on and tracks on, it won't be too long to reducing. Oh it's gonna be a quick yellow and another yellow and a red. And I'm looking at Ben Olson down on the Houston Dynamo bench. He was two yellow cards within a minute on the Dynamo left back. And if you remember back in me it was two red cards on a Herrera and Fass seeing that game where the sound has won one goal to

nil and this Steve puts a whole different face on this game. Extremely disappointing for the left back. It was a little soft yellow card. Yeah, I mean I want to see this. I mean, that's a big corn referee. But that's exactly why branch Bester took out Cordy Baker because when he got his first shellow card he was at a risk for this. He put

his body across the substruction. He knows what he's doing. He made that shift to his left right if would have been standing, he was a movement to his left in the half of That is a tough one now and Ben Olson is going absolutely livid on the sideline. Wow, it's a big card. It's a big, big corner. And now I don't know if he doesn't give it, I'm okay. Now that he has given it, I don't know that you can overturn that. I've seen it. We've both seen

it. Where the referee and now he's gonna wander over and give Ben Olson yellow card? Yeah, Ben absolutely lost his mind. There were yeah, referee Mendoza and I don't think he's gonna be on the Christmas card list for either Ben Olsen or Brian Schmitzer. I think Brian mentioned some of the refereeing

to Michelle as they wandered out for that second half. We'll get to Michelle in just a minute or so. After JP with the ball at his feet, it's gonna be a Sounders free kick two yards in from the touchline, whipped in with his right foot, goes towards the back post, finds Ruy Diaz, cushion boards, Ladero drives it in well headed clear by the Dynamo and it's going to be a Sounders story. Now the Sounders have some pace. There was a quick succession of yellow cards and Michael has turned this game

upside down. He used to look somewhat comfortable here at Loumonfields. The ball gets driven into Ruy Diaz, hooked away by the Dynamo by Ali You who's defending top of his eighteen yard box. As a sound As now with a bull in their hands, as they build some pressure with Russneck. Ten men behind the bull, including that goalkeeper, red card and Michael. As the bull gets played to this this on the right, whipped in by Kellen Rows gonna go hi wide and over the end line. For a goal kick,

and with that we're gonna go down to Michelle. Thank you, Danny. Just a slight tactical change I wanted to point out that happened right before the second yellow card that led to the ejection Bryan Schmitzer jesting at both Albert Rusnak and Nicholas Laderow, moving Niko back to the true number ten spot and Albert out onto the right hand side. Thank you, Michelle. You see a

quick change from Houston. Chase Gaspa is gonna come on and Letna seems gonna come off those sides speak knone the left wing for Houston's gonna be more of a defensive player, and it's gonna be Chase Casper's most likely gonna shift into this le back spot in replacement of Michael and the high left winger, and

Canoni's gonna make way so defensive move as you'd expect from Ben Olsen. Certainly, they'll have memories of that last minute goal by Paul roth Rock against the Sounders back in May when it was a rare and varsie with the red cards in that game, Sounder be able to come away from a very difficult place and get that win as Gasper picks the ball up, plays board to the feet of BARSI quick boards up. Ally you launched long by five from a

layoff from nuu as the Sounders. Now, I've got to find that goal. The expectancy in the crowd now down to ten men. As the Sounders can find this goal. But as we know, Steve playing against ten men, he's almost harder. Sometimes they're playing against left Absolutely, I'm watching here. John Potter just can't a challenge, and Ben Olson they're asking for a yellow listen, I'm not sure that it is. And Ben Alson's gonna be

careful him. It's gonna be careful. Him and his culture staff were up in arms one into a free to punish Jar Polo a fowlers and't even called. But to your point, Danny, I think yes, when a team goes down to ten men, sometimes that rallies a team, it galvanizes the team. The Sounders have to make sure and John Polo repay here he went

to the board. They have to make sure that they used the advantage, used that momentum, make it count, because if you let a team sit into a four for one defensive blog, it can be just as tough to bring them down. Well, it looks like maybe a second yellow. Not this time it's gonna be. I'm one of the assistant coach. I'm not sure if it's all old and Birth or Tim Henley. I think it's Collin or Radion Collin who've got a few hours a playoff, we must say.

But I think that went to a calling on the bench there former Philadelphia Union player and a couple of teams that the less and he was right there with Ben Olson. I mean they they were not They were not happy with a second yellow card from Michael. But they've got compose himself. They've gone into a four four one hit defensively and now it's the sound as can you break us down? And it's gonna be a lot of possession. You have to be patient, don't. You don't have to score right away and can come

late on, as we learned in Houston with a rough rock goal. But use that momentum, get give the crowds off to the cheer about get shots off, shoot from distance four sustan to lose their shape over the arts to Leo Chew inside the box or one two with Adara, try to play it back that is Snack from six yards down. He was a cutback by Leo two and it was a goal into the upper roof of the net. Leo Chew with his eighth assists on the goal, and it was Albert Roo's neck

for his second goal in the season. And what a vital goal for the Sounders. It's gonna be Sounders one Dynamo O'Neil well. The crowd finally has something to really cheer about, and it's most surprised at the best bit of football of the evening brings about a great gold wonderful from Leo two direct driving great one too of Nikoladero, and this time Leo two makes no mistake and picking up album russ Knack push it onto his left foot and russ Knack certainly

makes no mistake putting that into the back of the net. The shot was true. The sound is making the man advantage count right away, but there is concerned. He has franshm Is asking Kenny Rode to sit down. Roe, who had just come on pulled up moments ago, and it looks like

the substitute will also be substituted here. But one note in the sounds yep, Kelly Rose sitting in the center circle gives the Sounds a chance to take her breath, take a second, and remember he was Kellen bro who had been out for a handful of weeks with a knee injury just a month or so ago. Looked a lot more serious when he got that knee injury. Got away with one there. We felt like it looked like an acl he was a strain on his knee. Came back quickly and Keller Rowe gets up

stain looks disappointed as he walks off the field. Will see if it has to be a change. There's looks sertainly dejected as he walks off the field. But a big impact did Keller Rowe was a one two around Mickel force mckel into that second foul, that second yellow card. And yes, it's gonna be a quick change for kell and Rowe and certainly nothing that we want to see. As he trudged off the field, and it's gonna be read Baker Whiting who's gonna make way And it's gonna be another like for like swap.

So in essence, the fourth right back for the Sounders Alex Roldan, of course missing due to Gold Cup duty. Could he Baker side the game. Keller Rowe came on and now has to hobble off injured. Just as a Sounders celebrate that opening goal by Albert Rosneck. As the ball goes down the line to Leo Chu would be one versus Svetchenko, goes passing towards the end line, got a chance, squares and a coast He goes Neck again they time over the top. It was a good break by Leo Chew,

a good ball by Ladero down the line. Le Chew at the pace to beat. Svetchenko gets to the end line, cuts it back and this time it was Albert Rusnack from about ten or eleven yards out and just skies it over the top. And he had more time. I think Albert can even take a touch, and there was Vargas and maybe he could. Adero supporting, maybe could have veided off to them. I think he smashes that Albert Rusnack. But excellent again from Leo Chu and le Connadero, who looks very

good last week and has looked really good again this week. Leknadero back centrally now the changes worked, wonders as Albert Rusnack is making us late runs into the box. It's taken the pressure off of Rebeck and wire to again Kennan Robbie four to join the attack because Rusnack can hold that with a bit better at times as he and Adero interchange. But for the sounds, two nail

would have been much better. But I think that goal really sets sound as like grol because of the animal have a choice though if they opened up trying to chase the game, it can end up being two or three. If they sit back. The sound has been one nil. So that goal came out of fantastic time for the soundners, and the energy and moves around here just seems a little bit better. It's been lifted that that was the point

I was gonna make. There was a perfect time, and last time we had to wait till the last minute and it was backs against the wall. We've found a scrambled goal by Paul roth rock of that back post and the last minute of the game. And this time they get on the board quickly after that red card and they come again on the right hand side. Read Baker, Whiting gains gasper down the line towards the end line, runs out of bounds a little bit too firm for Rusneck. It's gonna be a goal

kick for Houston. Here in the seventy second minute it quc pitch looming field ninety three point three KGRFM. It sounds one of the back of a Rustneck goal and it's the Dynamo nil, who are playing with ten men after a

red card for McCall the left back. As Steve Clark traits to build it out the back Mensha Bran Schmitzer talked about Steve Clark taking chances at times and ball pops up in the air collected by JPU clips it from center to this near side the right read Baker white ball of its feet goes inside to Obed Vargas to JP and was certainly I can imagine seeing a lot more of red Baker Whiting and is attacking third of the field. He puts some quality delivery

into O. Put up this game and get that second goal. It new to Obed Vargus middle of the field to Ladero to read Baker Whiting's near side the right eighteen yards at the end, light back to Ladero and Sound has maintained possession. Miss Houston dropped their nine out field players and goalkeeping behind the ball Dara switched it from this near side to the fast side the left. The or two picks it up ten year us from the end line. It's

gonna go past and it strikes in at it's as deflection just wide. It was Leo Cho came inside on his recro write foot took a pop shot on goal, deflected off the shens of a Dynamo defender. It's gonna be a corner kick for the sound as remade sound as one Dynamo nil. Well, when he's in this kind of mood, he's special. Leo two. I mean, that's fantastic cutters two defenders and as if they're cold as they're not there and listen if Daro wants the layoff, I have no issue with you.

Or two taken that one. He's been setting everybody else up. Have one for yourself there, very unlucky, but he's changed the game. Second half. The boy he's been directly driving in the back line. It's been in swinging corner kick rusnack with it comes in. What's a couple of players that go down a by Sisoko on a yellow cards needs to run back, get his head down and Sounders fans, if Sounders FC scores. We're here in the seventy fourth minute EQUC pitch lumin Field sound as One Dynamo nil the back of a sixty seventh minute goal by Albert Rusnack, coming shortly after a red card by the Dynamo left bat mckel set this game up well for the Sounders as they win it. I say that goes down makes the challenge of Leo choose toe.

But it's Ladero fast side the left right on the halfway line. It's gonna pick it up. It's gonna let it go. It's gonna knew who's gonna chug up. But Steve, we've seen Ladero kind of slide inside. It's kind of a false ten playing on the right hand side. Rusneck more discipline sits in that bat post, comes inside and gets that ball on. It's worked really well and it's just it's just a basic you know, when one winger gets in towards the goal line opposite waiting up, make sure you make

a run towards the back. Past has happened twice, one time back in the net, one time into the stands. But that's been good for the sound is there because Rusnak he's not hugging the touch line. He's even that to read Baker Whitey, but he has a great sense of had to arrive late into the box. He's done that very very well. And it's as little choose become more direct, more decisive second half driving on the back line.

Good things happen. Good things happened. I think Leo Junia you could have had two assists and the goal in the second half, and that's been a passing from the Sounders. And those were two players along with Hudias who faded in the first half. But the two of them have been able to find the game and combine for a great goal. And let's not forget the road he could Adair opinion. I go too with the one too, and I think it just came at such a good time for the Sounders where the

Dyning won a touch. But when did they go and chase the game and risk concealing more or did they just set and say, look we came on the road without the ten men. We'll give this one away and then we'll try and get back home and pick up wins that way. But for the Sounders one Nils sitting pretty comfortable. Stephan Fran has been relatively unused tonight. So this could be the kind of win that gets a team season. Why

not pretty but impactful. All you say is about points and goals right now in terms of getting back up that ball, trying to stabilize the position for the Sounders in the Western Conference. That the ball goes dyningly long to this near side the left with gasper twelve be art from the end line, challenged by Red Baker, White Ticke. It defends world one verse. Fe JP comes across, helps the young man out, gets his head up, he gets about the ball, it rolls under his foot, goes over the touch

line free Houston Dynamo's thrown. You see a change for Houston. It's going to be former Sounders player. Will see the reception he'll get Brad Smith, you will see the change. It's gonna be the just Vetchenko as she gonna be the Bassi who comes after top and leading goal scorer for Houston. So we'll see if that is a motion to what Houston are looking for is maybe conserve their best players for the next game coming up, ball bounced inside the

box. Sounders scramble away. Gonna be careful not to give away silly fouls or ricochets off gam Up, who's the Leo Chow clips the ball off. Escobar's going to roll out for a throw in the far side the Houston right, just in front of the assistant referee, three yards or so from the corner fla. As Gasper comes over, it looks like to be a long throwing. As a Sounders defend like it's a corner kick. Sitting on top of the six yard box. Zono marketing. As the ball comes in long

from Gasper. Listen both Yamar a new clash of heads, both players holding their heads. I get back a position as Gasper again with his left foot, this Sound's gonna whip it in towards the far side one well by Yama. Looks like it's gonna be a foul given by the referee. Don't see the assistant referees flag up to see, but yeah, maybe in a handboarder cord on arter. I'm not too sure how you tried to control that clearance by Yama, but tooth, I mean, some of these things don't make

the highlight reel. But the last two set pieces, they're crosses defended by Yama. It's fantastic. Those are just as effective as anything Leo True has done. On the other end, Yama commanding, winning the board, heading the board, ten fifteen, twenty yards away, taken away hope. For

the Dynamos, they're umping boards into the box. And I think even with ten men as your process, final fifteen or so, there's gonna be moments when the sound is gonna have to defend because the Dynamo will pop boards forward, get balls into the box, be a lot more direct, and you're gonna have to defend a stand up to all, a second goal would kill the game off, But for the sound as you don't go searching for that at the risk of looking yourself open and then give up two points. Yep,

Sounders are trapped. The eleventh clean sheet of the season, the ninth clean sheet at home pretty remarkable. Feet record in MLS is sixteen clean sheets, and we've mentioned as a good number of games left for the Sounders to kind of urn that record. With Stephen Fry as a Sounders. Now they'll try to find that second goal. Put a little bit of that anxiety and

nervousness sitting in the crowd still as sound As need this win. Get that three points will certainly recent record for Houston, if not one a looming field oh ten and two here against the Sounders. The Sounders can clamp down this final twelve plus minutes of time. As Rusdo runs back to try and take the ball off the toe of Casado, it's going to be a foul right

on the halfway line. Houston, get going quickly with our tour. There's near side the left gasper value you looking like a lone player up there trying to lead the line for his team. His gasper receives the ball again right here on this near side of the halfway line. Brad Smith, playing a more advanced left sided ball, tries to go in behind or goes in short given away. Sound has come away with it. Ben Alsen demanding his players

to press and push. Corey bed pressing Stepfriend fries. He launches the ball for it takes no chances head of one by Barlow Vetchenko no chances off his chest knocks it long yam up header into the middle of the field, collected by the Sounders with JP flixs to the left side, the fast side the left with News he carries the ball over the halfway line le Or two ten

yards away in support, hugging the touch line. I mean this in case he whips it into Brydas almost finds that dashing Ladero's asking for the ball Coverydas off guard a little bit of was a little bit blind to that cross bounced around event she clear by the Dynamo. Yeah, that's a good early Bob. I knew who he's talking about that and not in the first half down of you offers us. Sometimes put the ball in the box. You never know what can happen. Burn the course, confusion, deflections, ricochets.

On that occasion, it came to roll rather quickly. Nicoladeros dance support. It didn't quite land for the two Sounders men, but Leo two could be in here. They true's got a chance. Steve Clark comes out, slides outside the box, lets it go, brings it back in and collects it well. Good goalkeeping by the experienced goalkeeper in the Houston goal. As the

ball gets rolled out to Escobar on the fast side. The right does carry the ball forward opened Vargas sliding across the challenge because JP drops into the hole in front of his back. Four Sounders now just have to defend as Houston come in transition. They little concede they win, so they vital three points for the team as they try and get back on track here as they struggled in MLS play. The last win was against New York Red Bulls at the

very end of May. Here at home, the ball goes down the line with Ladero has been active in the second off, tries to play the ball and Rudy asked finally he doesn't see Clark jumps in front and rolls it out to Calcedo. But this copyrighted audiocast of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduce, or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer. Eighty second minute here and you do see pitch looming field Sounders fans showing their

voice now supporting their team as they lead here on golden nil. The score update is presented by regents. But Steve, you see a couple of changes happening on the Sounders bench. Yeah, I've think brash Mester there just for fresh legs. I don't know how much U the ass has left in the tank Ladaril, maybe Lee or two. At this point you can still make attacking changes just for fresh legg purposes, because the anymore they're on their last

leg, they're beginning to push a bit more numbers for it. Ben Olson urging his men forward and listen, there's done a long way to god this game. This game is not over by any means. You have eighty third minute here. We'll see what's the don the red car, the foul, the stoppages. We may still be playing it another ten twelve minutes sold for the sound as branch metso it's not a bad time to bring on a band didn't have as fresh necked in the attack. Give them something the chase.

If you start to play a bit more direct and call to the corners for example, yep, good play by new Just a moment ago, ball came in from gasper Chestia down to Stephan Friday and now the Sounders are gonna build again as Houston are so not throwing in the towel. We'll see what changes Ben Alson will make we'll see all person has stripped off. Ready to come on. Hector Herrera, of course, the captain Mexico, the MLS All

Star alongside Jordan Morris for this twenty twenty three MLS All Star Game. It's Arsal in the middle of July. Comes just a few days after Gold Cup, so hopefully Jordan will go from a Gold Cup Final two All Star. As the ball goes to Obed Vargas, he tries to side step towards the end like contains possession. I'm not quite sure, Steve. You tell me he was an assistant repercus His flagg up was a one beat one. It deflects something defender. Yeah. Yeah. The only thing is maybe on the

initial pass all bedals offside. I'll give you that, But there's a lot, there's a delay, so I think he let the play developed there. But that's the only thing that would make sense in that situation there as Yeah, and it is for rude Yeas. I think he probably played longer than his minister restriction. I don't think eighty three or eighty four was what was restricted, but good to see him back out of their role. Was active as he could be, probably not his night in terms of chances in final

goal, he didn't get the looks he normally wants to get. But anytime he's on a pitch, I think anything can happen, and the goal for him is to keep him fit for the season. If you keep raul fit, you start picking up points, winning games, you have a chance. So Dylan Tevers gets ready to come on. It's see the changes for Tevis. Couple of changes by Houston as well. We'll get to that in a split second. It's gonna be Olferston, as we mentioned, comes on for

our tour and sounds gonna chew. It's gonna be replaced by Dylan Tevis. It's been a good season so far for TeVeS, got much more minutes at some starts over the last couple of months. Done a good job filling inste Yeah. Yes, and I think for someone I did a TEPSS. You continue to build and continue to stack good performances because that's how you get on the pitch every time you get a chance to play. Even in the situation the game may be over, the team's in control, can you show the

quoting staff that you should be in contention? I think listen for Leo True coming off another fantastic night. So so first half came to life and explode. The second half really the game changer, the catalysts behind the good thing to Sounds did in the final third. But for Tevis here it's now keep the board, make runs into the corners, do the dot. You work defensively when you have to, and continue to build experience and minutes under your

belt. So you showed a coaching staff, look, I can be counted on, I can be depended on. But it has been a good run for him recently in terms of minutes for the Soundles. And it's going to be a Houston throw. Long throw by Gasper twenty five yards or so from the corner flag on this near side the Houston left. We launched in long, comes in, flicks over, eventually cleared by JP back inside the box. Top of the boxes. Allee, you challenged by TeVeS Franco, the

player that just came on for Corey Baird wins. The ball runs out of bounds, TeVeS comes flying in. It's not foul. It's going to be a throne for the Sounders. As we mentioned Golpherson on the field as well. It's got goals certainly over the last couple of weeks has golfers and two goals in that game against San Jose and that four one win just a week or so ago. Three goals the year for Ulpherson as a Sounders now press with the bear, whereas Necks still playing on that right hand side, Ladero

in the number ten and Steve Clark launched it long. Maybe Sisoka been disciplined since picking up that early yellow card in the first half. A good solid game so far. Ladero picks the ball up this near side the right, challenged by Gasper. It's gonna be a corner kick because actually you have the heels of Brad Smith. We'll rolled out to we'd maker Whiting. It's gonna be a Sounders corner kick. This near side the Sounders right remains Sounders one,

Dynamo nil. And I'm curious here, how soon you start going to the corner. You know there still approaching out an eighty eighth minute the Sounds. I nearly get it into the box and played the corner. It looks like it will be coming into the box. Short corner goes into the box too open. Vargas towards he and I flix the black post and it just goes on top of the roof of the net for a dynamo goal kick for

the Sounders. Are on the road, taking on the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday, July eighth at seven thirty pm. Watch the match via the MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app, or listen right here on ninety three point three KGr FM with a Providence, Swedish pre match radio show starting at seven p m. Its Sounders one dynamo nail here at EQC pitch, looming field,

Sounders trying to find that second goal, that insurance policy. Take that little bit of nervousness that sits still on the fielding in the stands of the Sounders, trying to get their first win since that New York Red Bulls win back in late May. Also a one nail win. Sounds ten clean sheets on the season, eight clean sheets at home for Stephan Fry, and they keep that clean sheet tonight, get their ninth at home, their eleventh on

the season and a valuable three points. And I think if offensively the team had been a bit better, a few more wins, a lot more noise we're getting made about the defensive vehicle. That's pretty impressive. That's a lot of clich sheets to Stephanie Fry and you know Raigern and knew Who and Yamar, the guys who've been mainstays back there. Alex Rodnan has been here.

It's been a fantastic defensive efforts of Mary season. Calls to the feeder that there quick pop shottlers, left foot, tight angle, difficult chance goes wide of seef Clark's goal for a goal kick remains sound as of one Dynamo nil, and we have not seen much of the Dynamo. I think keep you on a team with ten men. I would like to see a team that's us look losing two nail or one nail, there's no difference to zero points.

Can we go for a bit more make direct passes. They've been pretty poor in terms of trying to launch any sort of attack towards the Sounds. But take nothing away from what this Seattle Sounders team has done, because defensively, whether it was ten mended even men, stephan Fry hasn't had much to do what I'm told and you fee once the sound has took the lead, especially given a context so soon after the red card it was gonna be a long way back for the Dynamo and that's proven to be the case. And

you made the comments. See how vital that goal was early after that red card, because the longer it goes on, the more anxiety gets built up and the more hope that Dynamo have to kind of grind out an important point on the road. As we mentioned, Houston not the best home record or way record. I should say one win on the season, seven losses, never won the looming field, ten losses and two ties an MLS play regular

season. As the hall goes up and the extra mile stop, his time is gonna be three minutes, so Sounders three minutes to hang on to get a valuable three points here as we enter the second half of the year of this Dylan Tevers just runs out of pounds. Siston. Referee puts the flag

up. It's going to be a Houston throne. The fast side, the right goes back to Escobar, back to Franco who tries to sidestep Ladero eventually gets away with it and the Houston Dynamo come away with the ball on this near side there left to Brad Smith tries to flicking around the corner rolls out of bound, sloppy by Brad Smith, right in front of the Dynamo bench.

Rosenac's gonna throw it in square to JP. Got time and space to switch the point of attack, and Ladero goes back to Sosoko being solid alongside Yamar tonight as the Sounders trying to see out this final two plus minutes of injury time, did you mention see eighteen goals given up this season? To take away some of those goals given up in Portland starts to look even Rosier. Yeah, and Charlotte as well, Charlotte three times. That that's seven

goals from just two games. So it's been a great defensive effort. We would have made more noise about it if more points were being picked up, if the team was firing a bit more offensively, But Stephen Fry, you know, and the guys back there, and it's a team effort. Also a cliche, it's got to be said, but special mention of focus on our back line there's been fantastic and you just feel if the offensive side of things can be figured out, that's the foundation. But then we say,

defensively, it's how you win championships. Is how you win things over the course of a long season and give credits with sunds. Today they haven't allowed the Dynamo to launch any sort of sustained ab tax its going down to ten men anything. The Dynamo's trial has been defended well and the Signers are cruising now on their way towards three points. And now can you build on this

going forward? Don't make this a one off, don't make this an exception, but a massive, massive morale broosting victory that were on the verge of film YEP twenty first game of this thirty four game regular season eight seven and five coming into tonight's game, twenty nine points. Salas, we're sitting in third before play started today, so we'll get them to thirty two points if

they can hang on for their eleventh clean sheets. The ball goes long into a bear as a chance brings it down really well, cleared by Dynamo, knocks to Brad Smith. Challenge by Brosn that goes long. Allie, you trying to find a mistake? Focus? Asko. He doesn't. Lou takes no chance. That knocks it long, finds the chess of Escobar, brings

it down to Casada Houston. Are they gonna get one more chance to find this trying goal they could see in the last minute at home as the ball goes in and there's a chance found itself to all offers and in the middle of the eighteen yard box on the bak spot in eluded the cossluted Gama, but he's n't able to get the ball in the goal and the ball goes long at Bear. It's gonna sites that Ethan Barlow inside the box plays the ball square to Lodero inside with his left foot smash it high and wide.

It was a chance as against the very end of this injury time Steve to put it away. I mean, a dynamo really should have been won one because that was an excellent boardman Bratt Smith and made a mean of it in and at the other end the sounds a bit excellent work running hard finding a board, finds a darrow and Nico just could not keep his composure there. But in the end it won't matter, as of a free Broke braces to get into an end and the referees whistle does go. It was a sixty

first minute red card from Mickel that opened this game. Up and the Sounders took advantage with a rustnet goal in the sixty seventh minute. We talked about big time players, Steve making big time plays the most important moments. This could be a change of the season, you hope so. And I go back to that moment when the Dynamo hit the post, it didn't go in. I think, okay, maybe the luck is turning away, the Tights turning a little bit. The Sounds then used advantage for the ten and I

love the sub from Schmetzer to take off Baker. You saw, because Mickel had a same situation two quick fouls, he wasn't as lucky, gets the red card. The Sounders took full advantage of that. And in the end, this is the type of wind that wasn't pretty, but it's pretty impactful. And you hope, can you build on this now and go on to really have a good run in his final thirteen games, three massive, massive points. It doesn't matter how you get him done, just had to get

done, and the Sounders did that tonight well. Thanks to Terry and Keiey here in the booth. Kevin Kay is always for his great research and information. Of course to Sounders legend Steve zack Quani. Tonight here in the booth a clean sheet, the eleventh clean sheet for Stephen Fry, alongside the second goal of the season for Albert Rosnet got the Sounders to win for me Quc

The Sounders f Seen postmatch show starts now well. Seattle's scoring drought at home is over. The Sounders score and the Sounders win. It is a one nothing final score for the Sounders night here at Lumanfield over Houston. Let's set down to the field and hear from the goal score. Albert

Rusnack with Michelle Watko. Thank you Jackson, Albert, so congratulations on the win, our lone goal scorer in this one, your second of the season. Walked me through that play that ended up being the deciding factor in this one. I mean, you know, Olle was dangerous on that side. He puts, you know, many good crosses in a game. And it's a similar situation like in the first half that the defender got the better of me and this one, you know, Kim, you know, right to

my path. Yeah, it was an easy to finishing the end all the work you almost done before that. This one seemed more emotional than some of the matches we've seen lately from you guys. What was so frustrating about this one? Well, the first training is last couple of results, and you know, especially havn't been a you know, scoring goals as a team. You know, we've been defending pretty good as a team, but the attacking side was a bit lacking in the last couple of games. And uh,

yeah, it was just a relief of getting that win. You know, the whole month of Junior know, we didn't we didn't get a win. Um. And the last one here was against Red Bull. It was in May, if I'm right. So you know, it was a big relief, you know, to get the win and three points because you know, we're aware of the results that I have in the league. Teams below us, you know, trying to catch up and they and they did already. Um and yeah, this this win, you know, means we we won

the series against Houston, who are right below us. You're spot on. Your last one win was at the end of may here. What does that do to the team's mentality mindset moving forward? Now that you've gotten kind of another win and a big three points on your belt, well it's something to build upon. You know, another another clean sheet of the team, which is which is great. You know, credit mainly to to our defenders and and and staff um and you know, I know three four goals would have

been you know, ideal and everybody would be happy. But you know one means three points as well, and it's something to build upon. We have two road games, um before the League's Cup, you know, and and playing on road this is a little bit tougher than playing at home. So you know we need to take the positive from tonight's game into the role games. How much does the tempo of this match change with that ejection? I

mean it changed, it changed in our favor. I thought, you know, they were wasting time, just as any team does on the road. You know, they were playing a smart game. You know, they're goalie

try to waste time as well whenever he could. You know, every there was a lot of breakup playing at games as well, you know, many yellow cars, many fouls, and you know, we want to play high Temple at the at home, and we weren't allowed to do that, you know, up until the red card, which we really could, you know, throw more numbers forward and press them a little bit more. So,

Yeah, it definitely worked in our favor. You got a week now to get some more training under your belt before you guys held up North for a Cascadia Cup rivalry match against Vancouver. Any positives from this one you're going to take with you kind of as you gear up for that one. Yeah, as I said, you know, it starts with defending. If we if we if we can get a clean sheet on the road, you know,

that means we only need one goal to score to win the game. And I think you know this group has definitely quality to score more than one goal a game. You know, we just have to bring it. So, as you said, one week of training and uh and yeah we should. We should be ready for Albert. Thank you so much for the time. Congratulations on the win and the beautiful bul Thank you so much, jacksonvill sent to you. Thanks Michelle. Let's Michelle, let get down there with tonight's

goal scorer Albert Russnack and Seattle get the win. One nothing the Finals for time over Houston and to pick up right where he left off. As we begin the postgame show, Jackson Phelps, James Riley, Pete Fewing. Here are the booth reacting to the Sounders win. That is the Sounders eleventh clean sheet of the year. MLS team record is seventeen, six away from that. MLA starting for a single goalkeeper is sixteen. Stephen Fry five away from

that. With thirteen games left to play, this is an elite defensive team. They are continuing to look like it and records are within reach. But it is a goal from Albert Russnack that gets the Sounders there win tonight. A lot to break down here, let's just start with the initial reactions from the win tonight. Pete Fewing, Well, I like that shutout record you

just talked about. I thought Steph deserved to be in the All Star Game when Rooney is coaching and he took his player former Seattle sound Yeah, so that and that's fine, but I think I think it would be a nice I'm sure Steph would rather have that record and the team do well and playing the All Star Game, but it's kind of a nice reminder that he's having a great season. He came up really big the ball to cross into the box. He had to hold onto it and went hard, didn't bail out

of it in anyway, and so he did a nice job. He's good with his feet tonight, and I'm happy to see him get another shut out. But boy, James, it'd be nice to get two goals, right, But they looked like the old Sounders once they got the goal. Granted they had the man advantage, but then moving the ball around. It's nice

to see and good to see JP kind of pulling strings. And we said before the game, Wriskneck in that position, sitting underneath the forward, Kenny creates something that's probably his best use on the field, I bet, in his probably favorite position. So for him to get the goal coming in a little bit late, trailing in behind Ruy Diaz, we needed to see something like that. And I think, you know the old adage, you know, defenseman's championship, so you know, to go along with that shut out,

you know, streaked up eleven. I mean incredible, honestly, and they didn't look too bothered today. Obviously a man down or a man up for you know, a majority of that second half but for me to quietly get a result today where you don't. It doesn't need to be pretty, it doesn't need be pleasant, doesn't need to be spec spectacular. It just

needs to be result oriented. And that group did enough to get the job done, got the shout out right, a boost for a Rui d Is and what he's gone through and even stuff like you know with Stephen that's a boost as well. Guys in the locker room. You know, a college coach told me, Javidvich said, you know, you don't need to make all tournament teams in this and that when you have the respect of the locker room and they know what you bring to the table, that's all you need.

And Steph certainly has a respect of this locker room, the city, this club. They know he should be an all star, but then again, he'd rather get the clean sheet done here, stay with the team, continue the momentum and build from there. So tremendous positives from this evening, absolutely so. I mean yeah, defensively and for a night where a by so Soco has to get the start in place of Jackson Reagan who's on yellow card accumulation suspension, Absoco comes in, does a solid job, just comes

in, does a job, gets the work done. Sitting next to Yamar Gomez Andrade and for them as a unit where you switch one part out, I mean, then that's a that's a back line where not only is it a becoming in for Jackson, but Cody Bakers and for Alex Roldon as well. So this is a back line that's half changed from your normal four and still getting a clean sheet against a Houston team that they've won three out of the last four. They beat LAFC twice. This is a good team.

So to do it against them and to do it at home and it's just it's fantastic. So again, eleven clean sheets on the year for the team, six away from the club record and then five away from the individual goalkeeper record. It's just just a fantastic result tonight. And then going back to you know the goal of Pete you were talking about it there where Russnack is

in this spot underneath it from the number ten spot underneath Raoul. It's interesting because the way they've been playing, and we were texting about this with our board operator Andrews. First as well was the fact that Nico starred the match on the right. Albert was on the left on that specific play, and then from there, going forward they flipped. Nico is then on the left, Albert's on the right, so Nico finds himself in that position to have

the combination play with Leo Chow, who's able to find the premises. So cut it back to Russnach who was over on the right in that moment and then stayed over on the right for the cutback and then boom goal. Good placement, good spacing, good positional awareness, and it results in a Sounders goal. That was a very very good play there, and I'll take a wild guess that's gonna be our play of the match coming up in a moment. Welcome back to the postmatch show from Looming Field. You are hearing taking care of business because finally, finally you're see Alessanders are back in the wind, calm at home, finally scored a goal at home. One nothing wins and night over the Houston Dynamo. It's time for

today's Emerald Queen Casino Play of the Match. Here's how it happened. Albert Rusnack from Leo Chew over the bucks to Leo Chew inside of the bucks at one two with a Dario tries to play it back Rusnack from six yards out. He was a cutback by Leo Chew and it was a goal into the upper roof of the net. Leo Chew for this eighth assist on the goal and it was Albert Rusnack for his second goal in the season. And what

a fight to goal for the sounds. It's gotta be sound as one Dynamo nil and the Play of the match is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest and the entertainment capital of the Northwest as the Sounders

score and win one nothing. And let's talk about that play more and specifically the build up to it, because you know, we were talking in the break again with andrews Hurst, who's back on the board at KJR, and saying that Michelle Ludke had reported from the sideline that Brian Schmitzer had said a few minutes before that goal, she heard Brian tell Nico and Albert to flip and Nico to go over on the left of that number ten, Albert's go

over on the right. Things opened up and that kind of worked out. So let's kind of talk about it and James, you know, when we were kind of just going over in the break about how that movement exactly could benefit the Sounders and why Brian Schmitzer decided to make that move there and what was it about the sixty fourth minute. Certainly the frameworks there, so for a coach to make that decision, Spencer's you know, very well seasoned experience.

It just gives the defense a different look. That's it. So you don't need a change, It doesn't need to be a drastic change. It's a one degree shift. Let's give you know, get guys on their dominant foot instead of playing more inverted, they play true right, and it just gives the defense a different look, gives the attack something new, something fresh to get into. So that shift, you know, is very good. They used to do it. We used to do it all the time.

I mean in the league. You would just slightly shift your wingers, give the defense a different look, give the offense a little different you know, kick in into momentum. And then obviously it worked wonders for the Saunders tonight. I think it's also a little shot of confidence for Nico. I don't think he views it as a demotion, but that was his spot where Albert

Rusnak is now and that's probably not permanent. But it's a little thing from a head coach to a captain saying, hey, go back in there, or do what you do, and so it's a little confidence and a little lift for him as well. As James said it is. You know, if you've been marking Rusnak and all of a sudden you can't find him and Niko's in there, it may lose him. So it did open things up. But I think the strategy for Brian is hey, I still believe in

you, right, go in and do something special. And hey, they got the goal a couple of minutes later, and that gives you, know you just talked about, if your teammates in the locker room know you can do it, it gives you. Don't care if you're on the All Star team. I think people you know, Niko's been leading this team for a long time, so to give him that opportunity again, smart move, good

man management. They were up a man at that point where they went up a man up in the sixty fourth minute when Michael Dosantos got his second yellow card, so he was sent off for tripping Callen Rowe. So whether that's a product of the Sounders playing a man up is an interesting question that we'll see come next weekend against Vancouver. If Brian starts the game with Niko in his traditional spot, Albert off to the right, or the way they started

this game when it was eleven b eleven. So we'll see how things shake out come next weekend against Vancouver. We'll talk about that match coming up in a little bit. Well, it's nice Toyota the man of the match for US. I think we have to have a conversation about this because you could say Albert russ Snack for the goal, you could say Stephen Fry for the clean sheet. I thought that knew who had a good day. Oh bit

Vargas had a good day. Well, let's go around the room and kind of nominate choices because I think a lot of players tonight had pluses by their name. I don't know if any single player had two pluses, but I think there's a large handful of players tonight that get pluses by their name for quality, quality performances. Absolutely. I mean, you know, I thought JP had a great game, just just solid in there. But you know, goals change games. So if I it was my vote, it would

go to Rush Snack because you know, goals change games. It's not easy to score goals. That's probably why I never was that far up the field. I played a defender. But goals change games, especially when ye thank you, So that would be my vote. But you're right, it was a good, solid team performance overall. Right, guy just did their job, got the job done. Guys that were you know, brought in to Phil Spots, came in, got plugged right in. Next man up mentality

and it continued. That's when you know you have a good team culture, you're you're in a good spot. And that clean sheet thing again, it is so tremendous. But to get a one zero result at home where it's like we it didn't feel like we were straining to get it right, which just felt like a nice, clean, smooth win um which was exceptional. So Rushneck would get my vote, but certainly pluses by by a lot of players on the field tonight. Yeah, very businesslike and win yes tonight.

Yeah, you know, I looked up Obit's birthday. It's August fifth, he'll be eighteen, going and doing back. Well, yeah, no, it's great. And he tries things which I like, and Cody Baker tries things which I like for these young kids. I also love the fact that and it's the pros. I get it. But but they trust each other. Right, So Nico gets the ball and you know, Cody Baker's going forward and Nico plays it to him, and I I've been on teams where

you go no chance, Yeah you don't get it. I'm not giving you the ball, right, I might have been one of those guys that wasn't get the ball, but but it just is impressive to me that the guys that just the confidence they have in a seventeen year old. What's Cody Baker? Is he eighteen as he had eighteen yet? I know he's not seventeen, so maybe he's eighteen or nineteen, but you know, just to see and Cody Baker got stuck in on the tackle, I agree with you everybody.

It's a good point. Jackson. Maybe not two pluses. Had Rusneck hit the shot two minutes after he scored the goal, Yeah, he has two pluses. Cody Baker's nineteen, by the way, Yeah, yeah, I mean there's a lot of young players playing like veterans out there. Yeah, really good performance and playing next to veterans who trust him. You know, to see JP and Vargas together, you know, it's it's a dad

and his kid. It's a Griffy junior Ken Griffy senior out there. Sorry, JP, but but I yeah, today was a good, solid, business like performance. And then the good news is, you know, Vancouver I think's in ninth place. San Jose's a little couple down there in fifth place, I think, And so they've got some games now coming up on the road. They've got some games that can keep them locked higher up the table. And you said La lost lost at Dallas. That's great, that's

great. So that's good news that I think we're tied now point wise with Los Angeles. Yes, they had the edge on points per game, so they've only they've got two less games played, so right, So yeah, considering I think we came into this game two wins in eleven, considering we're you know, sitting at their place, that's a good sign. That's a

good sign for the team. And they just hopefully get some of these guys back and and tonight Ruy Diaz he had a couple of chances, but you could see when he came off the bed and she was off the field, he was frustrated. But I think that goes part and parcel with I want to score today, you know, so not frustrated, more of themselves and that's a good win. That's a happy what's the locker room like, James, you've been in. It's good. It's like you said, it's a

business like performance. And then it's on to the next enjoy the win they see evening, celebrate your wins together. But again, then the preparation starts for the next one. Could you want to keep this momentum? And I think the fact that they got the job done tonight esentially without four starters, right, you have the yellow car accumulation with Reagan, you have the three

guys away on national team duty. But the good thing is they're all healthy, so you want that you promote, You're like, all great, you know, good for you. We have guys that can step in get the job done, and then you welcome them back, you know, open arms. And then you have guys that have proven themselves right in battle, so they'll be ready when their names are called. But I again, business like performance. It was a great, great analogy there, and I think that

that is exactly what described tonight's victory well. On paper, to tonight's Toyota Man of the Match, it sounds like it's Albert Russ smack, but I think for us it's it's a shared a group effort tonight just a great business like group effort. Your look of Tota Dealers are proud to present tonight's man or, as we say, men of the match, in this great business like performance, a one nothing win over Houston Saunders FC. Soccer is presented

Welcome back to the Looming Field and Quick Casino Pitch played host Tonight's to a Sounders one nothing win tonight over the Houston Dynamo. Albert Russ snack your goal, score second goal of the year and the Sounders pick up their eleventh clean sheet of the year. That's six off the MLS team record, five off

of the MLS keeper records. So Stephen Fry five away from that with thirteen games to play. Outstanding defensive efforts and good to see Albert get that goal. Well, it's time to take a look at what's next very quickly for your Sounders. They will play one week from tonight up in Vancouver, BC at BC Place up there in Canada. It'll be a seven o'clock prominent Swedish premat show and a seven thirty kickoff. You can listen to that match right

here Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM. You can also watch the match via MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app or listen in Spanish language on l ray at thirteen sixties. So rivalry match against Vancouver coming off of a win. I mean, you know at June where the Sounders got three draws in a loss. James were starting off the month of July right, teams should be feeling good. We'll see what happened with Kellen Rose injury.

But you know, other than that's you know, you're you're startings, you're starting eleven healthy. Coming out of this game shouldn't set up for the Sounders to have another good performance north of the border. It really should. And I think, you know an observation that coach made, you know, with Ruy Diaz coming off frustrated is good. I thought it teetered to the line where it was good frustrated. Where's he gets frustrated if he doesn't score.

You want your goalscorer to be that way. And he's been known to come alive in big games. So I look for him to have another, you know, solid week of training, another standout performance, because he really does come alive in big games. I thought, I thought Nico Laedaro was buzzing today, could have had one late in the game there on his favorite left foot put it high. But I think once you have that engine, JP had a great performance, Jamar, you know, a great performance Stephan Fry.

The spy end of your team is intact, yeah, and performing well, right, Galvin Night is everyone else here left and right. So I look for that that match to be very good one. And again Vancouver is very good. Vancouver is capable of scoring goals, putting on a show as well, So I expect it to be a very fierce rival. We king. Yeah, it's and it's a tough place to play, honestly, it's the surface there can be a little bit yeah, walky, I guess there's

a way to say that. I always feel like that one in Montreal their turf, when they play on the turf versus the grass up there, it can be a little bit of a tough place to play. So, but you're right, And it is funny how that little change putting Nico in the middle of the field gives him the keys to the car again and so that

makes it right and then they get the win out of that. And now won't it be fun if the Sounders can notch another thing in their belt of records, which is to get to the sixteen shutouts for Steph and the guys would love to do that for Steph and Fry especially. You know, when you do get a little bit of a snub, know, Wayne Rooney taking his own goalkeeper, Okay, that's fine, but also to not have Gomez

or knew Who, Like none of those three went to the AAR. George Morris's the team's only All Star and like I asked knew Who yesterday, like your defense is leading the league in clean sheets and none of you are at the All Star Game. Get your power if you feel snubbed at all.

And knew Who said all the right things, but it's kind of like, come on, like Wayne Rudey, come on, dude, Like the Sounders are the best defensive team in MLS and for you not to take any of the you know, those guys, that's ridiculous, that's ridiculous, But it is, it is motivating. It is we find We were at the yeah, yeah, we were at the Final four two thousand and four, and they announced the All Americans the night before the first game, and we had

some guys that, you know, we're the same same situation. We had given up eleven goals all season. We had lost and we had one first team All American and our goalie was just fact. Yeah, but it's motivating and then it gives you a little bit of a rally cry. So and I think honestly, beating this team today one zero, knowing they were one seven and two, coming in, knowing that we had helped some teams that were down on their luck on the road as they were, that's a very

good thing as well. So yeah, I liked what you said, James. Sometimes you just got to get the win and get it, get it done, and you get onto the next It's a thirty four game season and sometimes you're playing three games in eight days and you've got to grind through them.

I do like that we're on the West Coast for the next two with this one in San Jose, with Vancouver San Jose, it just kind of gives us a little bit of breathing room, right and the fact that now I know we're tied with LA on points and I know they have two games in ahead of us. But I think if you ask Brian Schmitzer, you're gonna have the month that you've just had, but you're gonna be in the third place. Would you take it. Oh yeah, a heart, yeah

yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, definitely. And then again it goes back when you set up the month of July. You put your targets there so that the group has a target of number of points they want to accomplish in July. Now it's now. Then, now it's time to go execute on that reverse engineer. So certainly they have it say, Okay, we got through you know, maybe not a not so great month, but we're still in this a good spot. We still have this clean sheet record,

we still have guys healthy. You know, there's take the positives with it. Now, let's set our targets for July in games and points that we want to win, and then now let's go out and execute that. That's what motivates the group. And then three points here into July. Three points tonight with the one nothing win over Houston. Pete viewing James Riley, great stuff from both of you, gentlemen. James, congratulations on making it through

the twenty six v two at halftime without picking up an injury. Shane, Shane, you couldn't get the win though, three nothing. Fortunately that was a formidable foe. They were fantastic. I gotta be honest, saw I said, I thought you'd lost. I thought, hey, those kids came out one of them did the Ronaldo celebration like twice. How old were they five six?
