The good news for the Seattle Sounders is this week is a new week and they are getting a little bit healthier Peter de la Vega, Jordan Morris. But the bad news is we are coming off of a three to nothing loss in San Diego where we saw two more minor injuries. So tonight the Rave Green will continue themselves on the road another road game. They're third straight as they're in Frisco, Texas to face FC Dallas. So welcome to the Sounders FC pre match show presented by Providence,

All right, we are talking Sounders FC Dallas tonight. There's a lot to get to, but Marcus, let's just start off, because this is obviously a team that's had a little bit of a difficult stretch over the last few and you know, the last week's three nothing lost that San Diego wasn't pretty for a lot of reasons. And at the end of the day, it's a team that has to kind of come together, get Pedro de la Vega back this week and and try to improve on a tough week last week.
Yeah it was a bad week, but you let goals in in the first five minutes, right, It's always difficult those early goals, and then trying to come back, and you've got a team, a new team, and you know sometimes you go to those new expansion teams and you think, okay, yeah, we're going to be fine, and you know, we just need to play and guess what, they outcompete us. Early goal, right, and changes changes everything, and now we're chasing it.
Yeah, exactly.
And for San Diego, I mean a few years ago, Saint Louis that great inaugural year for them, and San Diego is off to another hot start and we'll see where they end up finishing. But it seems like San Diego know what they're doing and they have a plan and they have a way they like to play, and as Danny Jackson said on the broadcast, they certainly enjoyed their football last week and that three nothing win. But
for the Sounders, it's coming back tonight. I've mentioned Pedo dale Vega twice now, so let's quickly dive into the delta. Starting eleven for the Sounders, Pedro de Levegga is starting. He's going to be starting in this three four three in the right pocket underneath Danny Mazowski. Heyes, Whu's frere
in the left pocket under Danny Mazowski. Your center backs Jackson Reagan in the middle, Jamar Gomez, Androtti and knew who off to the left, Stephan Frying golf course right wing back Kolani Coza Rienzi, left wing back Paul Rothrock and the two in the middle of the park, oh
Beed Vargas and Christian Rule Don and Marcus. For me, I mean Pedro dle Vega when he was healthy at you know, five weeks ago before last time, he really kind of started for us, and he throughout the whole start of year when he was healthy has looked so good and it feels like we saw what Pedro Deo Vega could be when he's on fire, and we hope that he can be that type of guy for us again today for sure.
And you know there's a lot of like muscle strains and different injuries happening with the Sounders and it's always it's always crazy when you see that, but you know he's back, and yeah, he has that explosive speed, the power. You know, he's got high energy. He's getting in behind and he's always finds himself in good pockets, right, And that's what good players do, right. Sometimes it's you know, you don't have to be that great of a goal scorer.
My first Sounders team, Chance Fry, he was the slowest person on earth and he would always score because he knew where to stand. He couldn't even like if you didn't have anybody in front of you, he couldn't even score on you from outside the eighteen. But he would just find ways to score, right, and he'd find that little pocket. And that's kind of with these good players, like he'll find that little soft spot and he just finds the ball.
Anders I feel like we need to cut up that on chance playing for him, make sure we have it for the next time chance on a broadcast.
But really, I mean, and we've seen it too.
And andrews Hurst, our producer, to o't bring him in because you know, he played with Paul Rothrock, you played under Pete Fewing at Seattle University, you write sounders for Emerald City Spectrum, and I know you've really liked what you've seen from Pedro dale Vega so far this year.
Yeah, it just sucks the timing of his injury because he was really starting to kind of get going. And I think it's so important for him, especially the way he plays, to kind of build chemistry with these guys, and they need to know where he is on the pitch and kind of where he likes to pop up, how he likes to, you know, have the ball played into him. Pete talks about that all the time. But yeah, I just think this is a good opportunity for him.
I think he'll be on a minute's count today. We'll see what kind of ends up happening with how long he's able to go. But it's a great opportunity for him to come in and kind of write the ship for sounders. Could last couple of weeks have not been very pretty.
Yeah, I like that you mentioned the minutes count because we're gonna hear some audio from head coach Brian Schmtzer. He was on the other KJR station, ninety three point three FM with myself and Dave Softy Maler last night. We're going to hear a couple minutes from Brian Schmitzer later on where he talks about that minute situation and that I mean, Marcus, you mentioned the injuries and it's a perfect chance to dive into the Providence speech team
health report. Peter de la Vega off the injury report with his quad, Jordan Morris also off the injury report with his hamstring. But good news everybody, Jordan Morris is on the bench today. He is available for head coach Brian Schenzer, off the injury report and very clearly kind of just working back as we want to make sure Jorde Morris doesn't reaggravate anything, kind of like Pedro de la Vega was off the injury report last week and played thirty minutes against San Diego. So we'll see what
Jordan Morris can give today. Still on the report though, as out of course, we have Paul Ariola with the knee Alex Chroldn with the quad, Albert Rusnak with an adductor. There is confidence so that Brian gave gave on KJR last night that Alex and Albert may be able to return next weekend and they'll be in training come next Tuesday. So hopefully not too long for for Alex and Albert.
But while we have Albert out Marcus, we have Hasu's Ferrera in that left pocket underneath forward and Hasu's Frera. You know, for all the amazing work that he's done with Dallas over the years, hasn't gotten into a groove here with Seattle so far.
No, it takes a while to build that chemistry, right, and you know, Dallas, how they play is different than how we play, and you know, it just it's gonna take time. And hopefully, you know that that needs to happen at some stage, right, Hopefully that spark happens tonight. And you know sometimes when you're playing, you don't need like to play great, you just need like that lucky goal to kind of spark things.
Right, Yeah, break break the damn right.
Yeah. And you know, like I always joke about, it's like you just need that forward to like fall over inside the six and then it hits off his back and goes in and he gets credit for the goal. And then next thing you know, he goes on a five game streak with that, with scoring every game. You know, that's what we need.
Well, hopefully Hayesu's can find the back of the net tonight as he's working up top there with Mazowski and with Pedro Dalea Vega, Klani Cozerienzi's getting the start tonight. Andrews, I know that you've been really high on what you've seen from Kilanie out of the University of Washington, first round draft pick, and another opportunity with Alex Holdan injured for Kalani to come in and make impressions.
Yeah, he makes impacts on the game in the little areas. I think he does his job defensively and then kind of gets forward when his team needs to. And in the absence of Alex Roldan, who gives you that with outside puts great crosses in, you're gonna need someone to kind of fill that role, especially if you're gonna stick with this three four to three formation, which it seems
like they're going to do going forward. So I really think This is a big game for him to kind of prove that he can do it at this level.
Marcus.
The interesting thing that Andrews mentioned the three four three, because that's kind of been a new look this year, and obviously formations, you know, there's numbers, right, they change and flow. But you wonder what happens today if a result doesn't go Seattle's way, if Brian Schmitzer does end up going back to a four two three one that he's ran for most of his time here.
Dude, I hate them all. So I'm old school. I want four four two. It's simple. I got four guys right in front of me, I got another four guys, and then I got two guys up there who I don't count on right as a goalkeeper. That's what I want. Crazy, This just doesn't even make sense to me. Every time I've done it, it's never worked. I don't like it. Four four two Schmitzer.
I think we'll get on the production call next week and then walk through exactly what he needs to do. But hopefully, listen, hopefully they win and then justify as well.

We were talking to Brian this morning and obviously Luciano Acosta. You know, if he isn't the best, he's one of the best players in the field. Tonight the twenty twenty three MLSMVP and Brian talked about how they need an established possession today in order to eliminate a Luciano Acosta's impact because he is such a good player there in the midfield, number ten for Dallas, and I will be
just to see if new who also stays home. Knew who kind of got going up the left side and that led to San Diego goals, so knew who's staying home could be one of the keys as well in this one. But on that point of Luciano Acosta, it's a good chance to take a break and come back and talk about this FC Dallas team. There are some faces that we know as facing Western Conference teams. They also have some new guys here to FC Dallas. As we are just about a half hour away from kickoff

Welcome back to the Providence, Swedish premat show Sounders down in Frisco, Texas to face FC Dallas. It's a Dallas team that is pre confidence solid right now. They've kind of come together in the early part of the season. Three two and two eleven points, fifth place in the Western Conference, just three points back of what we team we talked about last segment, San Diego in second place. They both scored and given up ten goals through the
first seven games, wins over Houston, RSL, Kansas City. Their only losses are to Chicago and first place Vancouver as well. They're playing quite well. They have a new head coach, Eric Quill, who was named head coach last November after a year with New Mexico United. Before that assistant coach with Columbus Crew. Also played many many years in MLS, including one year with Dallas back in four toh five.
So this is a Dallas team that the.
Listen, we were just talking the break and we can kind of continue that conversation of you have Anderson Julio, a fast winger, you have patar musa up top, dangerous forward as well, big bodied, and it's one of those things where if who if Anderson Julio gets running at you, Marcus, it definitely screams to make sure that our center backs, all three of them are on point because we may need all three back tonight in order to not give up a goal like we did in San Diego.
Yeah, and you need cover right when you know you always have to have cover, So if somebody's dribbling at a defender, you want somebody who's then covering right. And with three at the back, you don't always have that right and you know you look at you know Reagan
and Yamar I think is traditional center backs. Knew who I think is an attacking left left back for me right, So imagine if you had you know, Alex rolled in if we're playing four like our best team right, knew who Reagan Yamar rolled in, if knew who goes forward then and then Alex stays right, so you always have that three and you got cover. Reagan would then be happy going out and Jamar slides over, Reagan goes and you leave the far one right.
The problem is is that right now in this three center back format, and we saw it against San Diego.
Is knew who a center back will think he is an attacking left back at moments he gets high up the field and as we saw against San Diego, he's at fault for one of the goals and you kind of look and say and make sure knew who does stay back because we are going to need him against what can at times be an offensive team and say what was very offensive team in San Diego and can occasionally be ten goals on the year for Dallas as well.
Yeah, you'd hope that like having the mentality of the Euro center back and not an outside back, and you have the wingbacks quote unquote up ahead of you in Rothrock and now Coosa Rienzi in this formation today gives you that mentality. Okay, I don't need to provide that with My job is just to defend, so to simplify the game. And that's where I think Knew who's at his best when he's just a straight up defender and
he stays home. But the question is well with whether he will do that or not figure question that's a big question because listen, this is a Dallas team. Also, they're getting the first start.
From a nineteen year old Brazilian Kayak from Gremio and Brazil, just just signed here recently. Two appearances so far. He gets the start because they're dealing with a few injuries as well. We talked about Seattle's injuries, but for Dallas, Marco far Fans out with what Dallas lists as multiple legs injuries. Giovanna Jesus's out with a knee injury, sebastianal Lejet out with an upper leg injury, Paxton Pommecoll out
with a knee injury as well. They are also a very injured team, so thus they get the start from Kayak and should be mentioned as well. Leo Chu. Leo Chu is available for FC Dallas. He was of course traded to Dallas in the Heyesus Ferreira deal back in January. Three games so far, a goal didn't work out here really, you know, he kind of just kind of fell out of the squad. But it sort of as one of those things, Marcus, like a change of scenery has given Leo Chung new life there.
Yeah, because he it didn't work out for him here, right, and you know there are games where he looked super promising. He was getting in getting crosses in and then games where you're like cross the ball, across the ball, you're like what is going on? And he didn't get any crosses in right. And when I think of an outside winger attacking winger, I think of like, what are they doing? Are they and for that you have to provide crosses right.
That's their main statistic that you need to look at unless they're playing you know, if you're a right footed player playing on the left side, you're gonna come inside right. So then but now it's creating space for your left back when you come inside where you're playing a right foot on the left, so it creates that space. But it just didn't quite work out.
I didn't indeed. But Dallas still has some good pieces.
He's been good.
I mentioned Moosa, he and both Luciano Costo leading Dallas with three goals each. Moosa also has three assists by the way, so he's a forward who can kind of do it all. Big bodied are going to be a tough matchup today for Jackson, Reagan, Jemargomez Andrade to match that big body there. We'll take a break here on the premat show. But let's get into it before we hear from brun Schmeinster. Let's get into our players to watch. Marcus, who you looking at from the delta starting eleven?
Well, we are talking about, you know, the back three, so I got to go new Who and you know, under a little bit of criticism from the last game, but knew who is that attack? He's got that attack minded right, so if he does go forward, someone else has to sit back, right, So I'm sure Rothrock is on unnoticed. If you see new Who run past, you get back in the hole, right, But knew Who's my guy to watch?
Andrews?
Speaking on that note, I'm gonna go Paul Rothrock because I think he's kind of struggled to impact the game as much as kind of we saw last year with him in the last few so I want to see kind of that directness that we saw so often from him last season. So kind of go, let's get a goal in an assist today.
I like that.
I mean for Rothrock as well, who's been kind of last year fully offensive players. So it kind of fits in from weight go both. You guys are talking about those multiple roles there, we'll see he can do it. I'm going to Hayesus Ferreira because at some point the damn's gonna break. I don't know if this is it, but the way I look at it is. And he talked midweek and he did admit there will be a little extra juice flown through him going back to his old home, and he clearly did not like the way
things ended with FC Dallas. He said it was kind of just the writing was on the wall. I think was one of the first things he said. And you know, there are still some feelings there. And if he can let that flow through into a good performance and let that flow through into a goal that finally breaks the dam I would love that for Heesus Frera because we certainly need it as he is starting today in the left pocket underneath Danny Mazowski. All right, let's get to
Brian Schmitzer here. This audio is actually from yesterday he joined myself and Dave Softy Maler on ninety three point three KJRFM. We talked about a number of things, including Frera, including FC Dallas, but here we'll just start where I asked Brian Schmitzer about the minutes limits that Jordan Morris and Pedro dla Vega are going to have. Jordan Morris on the bench, Pedro de Levega in the starting lineup. What kind of minutes the restrictions are those two guys going to have.
Both of them are on minute restrictions, So de la Vega played thirty minutes. Jordan, this is his first game back, but you know, he's shown that he's been pretty resilient. He's had a couple of good training days this week. You know the minus four, the minus three, the hardest days of the week. Jordan could tolerate those. So we'll have to see how it goes. And remember we have
those GPS things in their back. We'll actually know Jordan's sprint distance and Pedro's sprint distance, and so once they pick up on those markers, then we'll have to take them off.
Brian quick got on Dallas.
You know Acosta Moosa team that's been pretty good, good results over the last few weeks.
What are your thoughts on this Dallas team.
Yeah, some good results and some not so good results, but decent team. You mentioned a Coat and Musa, they're their two biggest players. But the guy who's been surprising has been Legit. I mean, he's a little older, played with the Galaxy for a while, but he's having a you know, kind of a reburse He's He's been really good for them. They've got sound goalkeeping. I Biaga, the center back, decent. I've always kind of liked him, so good team. New coach, you know, you always get that
a little bit of coach bump as well. So it'll be a.
Tough match being in Dallas, kind of a homecoming for Jesus Ferira.
How do you get more out of this guy?
And is it possible that the extra motivation for him is what he kind of needs to maybe break the dame a little bit here.
So there's a balance here, because yes, he is super motivated to play against his former team. You know, it's a Shane par Paul Ariola did the ACL. I know he'd be motivated, but then you've got to balance that with him trying to do too much, too much pressure. You know, the media wants this story. Oh here's Heyesus' homecoming, So we're trying to shield him a little bit from too many you know, press obligations. But Heyesus is ready
to go. You know, he's going to play in that left pocket where Albert usually plays, and I think he actually perverts playing there. So I'm hoping for a big game for him. But look, it is a team sport. The rest of the team has to help him out.

I won't say that this match here today marks the first match of the season between Sounders and Dallas, so right now, this will be the four forty sixth time these two
teams have met overall regular season plus playoffs. That ties the La Galaxy with the most times most games against any single opponent since the Sounders came into MLS, So Dallas La Galaxy, we haven't played anybody more than we've played those two teams as at forty six times. Now overall we lead the season series, the overall series twenty one, eleven and thirteen, so way over on that and we'll
try to make it another win today. The last meeting should mention was June twenty second of last year at lumin Field, where we had that amazing three to two comeback win. We were trailing to nothing entering the seventy eighth minute and then ended up scoring three in the final fifteen, including a Jordan Morris game winning goal in second half stoppage time. So Hopefully we don't make that as dramatic tonight because that would take another couple of
years off my life. But a win would sure be good. All right, Marcus, let's get to your keys the match Sounders at Dalla.
What are your keys for Seattle?
Well, the same they were last weekend as against San Diego, but nobody heard me say this. So today we're gonna get it. I got it. Don't let them score in the first five minutes. The first five minutes of the game, especially away from home, is super critical, like in the first half, then the last five minutes of the first half, right, you can't be chasing the game, right, and that's where we lost the game last week. And you know, if you ever heard me talk before, I say this every game, right,
the first five minutes are super critical. You state your importance on the game, how you're going to play, your intensity, everything, and if you can't do that, it's why the Sounders weren't able to come back.
You got to be turned on, right, You got to be on at all times because if you do, you know, try to out.
Okay, we're just you know, working into the game.
It was a corner kick in the fifth minute and then you know, Lozano beats you and that's it.
Game over.
It's one nothing and that's all they needed. Right, So you just got to be on all your p's and q's at every single second because that goal could come in the first, second, third, fifth minutes.
Well, especially away from home too, right, because now you're chasing it, right, it's difficult, and so you've got to start right well.

FC Dallas coming to this game with an overhauled team and coaching staff. Sitting in sixth position coming into the weekend and unbeaten in their last three games, Dallas are starting to gel With big offseason signing Lucci Acosta pul in the strings, Dallas are pushing to jump
into the top four with a win tonight. For Your Sounders, it's been a long week as they absorb a heavy three to nor loss in San Diego in their last outing. Bran Schmetze has been here before, of course, but the team is going to start feeling the pressure to get back on the winning trail. A defense which has been so stout over the past few years is leaking goals and the team is struggling to find their offensive threat.
But the return of Pedro della Vega, Jordan Morris and the return of Jesus Ferrera to his old club might be the tonic the team needs to get over the hump. I'm Danny Jackson alongside Kellen Rowe here in the booth. Before we get to Kellen for his initial thoughts, let's get you the Delta starting at eleven for Your Sounders, a couple of changes for Brian Schmittzer Stefan fein Gole saying back three have Jemar Reagan and Nuho klany Co. Srienzi slides on the right hand side in place of
the injured Alex Roldan. He'll be Rolled, He'll be Christian Rolldan and Vargas in the middle, Paul Rothbrock on the left hand side. Jesus Ferrera will sit in the pocket alongside Pedro Dolavega gaining his start after thirty minutes coming off the bench last week, and then Danny Mussovski gets a start up front for Dallas. It's a four to two three one parsing goal, about four more okd Ibyaga and Norris Cake and Rimero in the middle of department.
Two Brazilians, Kit gaining his first start in MLS tonight and As and Julio former RSL Man starts on the right hand side, Patrickson del Gado on the left, Luciano Acossa, the five million men coming in from Cincinnati in the off season, starts at the ten, and then Peta Musa three goal, three assists starts upfront. So Callum, We're gonna ask the question simple as this is tonight a must win for the Sounders.
Absolutely to start off this next kind of phase. Of the season after going and going through and not having a great start, can they similar to this game. Can they kind of shut down those first five to ten minutes and get through the rest of this season?
And this game is gonna be big for them to get that momentum going.
All for the Sounders, as Jackson Felts mentioned, have had success against Dallas over the years, twenty one wins for the Sounders in regular season play, eleven losses at thirteen toys And for the Sounders, it's about getting into this difficult place to play. Eighty degrees right now at kickoff, he'll drop into the mid seventies throughout the evening. But the National Soccer Hall of Fame is here in Dallas.
We've certainly built up the area around the stadium. Sounders are going to welcome and be supportive of that man, Jesus Ferrera, who's gonna come in tonight and can he get his first goal for the Sounders. Wouldn't that be a story to tell if the Sounders could get him on the board tonight against his old club. Lots of family and friends, I'm sure in the stands tonight for Jesus, and let's not forget Paul Ariola, former Dallas man as well former captain of FC Dallas, such a promising start
to his Sounders' career. As Marcus Hanneman said, Kellen, it's all about these first few minutes.
Learnfully mistakes for last week. Can they get going early? Referee pulls it back for an early free kick. A little bit Vargas, I think on the deck could have been an advantage given by the referee. But it's gonna be a free kick inside the Sounders tech and half the field.
Kellen Burke, well, immediately you have Luca Caasa, who's one of the best players in this league and it was an MVP just two years ago. He has time and space on the bar just twenty twenty five yards away. Someone's got to be able to step to, whether it be Vargas, Rodan or one of the center backs in Yamar who ended up getting there later. It's gotta be a little bit quicker it be. You gotta be on the front foot. It's a minute in and he's already having time and space on top of the box.

For the Sounders, they need to settle into the game tonight, third straight away game for the Sounders. It's not been easy pickings over the last couple of weeks. Of course, four games, you know, all competitions without win. They really need it, and there's a man who can maybe add some life to the offensive threat of the sound As Dela Vegas. The ball goes down the right hand side, picked up for the Sounders and Khalan he tries to
cut it in. Of course, his last oouncing as the starter was against LFC where he got on the board early in the eleventh minute against ELFC and that five to two win at home against Lumen and we can believe it, that's the last time the Sounders have been on the winning column. But here they go in their second half of the field. Tries to roll the ball into Mussovski. Good jacko by Oberd Vargas, clean and insighted. Ball gets switched from center to the right. Here comes
Dela Vega, first meaningful action. Kenny Wriggle passed the back line. He does takes your Shodi. Biaga comes across, good early block, ball goes over the top cornerkick Sounders.
It's the little things. Olvid Vargas getting in maybe not the best of his touches in the start, but he gets in that tackle and who's there. Jesus Ferrera obviously wanted to make something for his former team, plays a great ball out wide Page de la Vega do it does, but he does best go one on one and find a way in the corner for Seattle Sounders and hopefully they can take.
Advantage of and for Dela Viger, it was a good start to his preseason. Four goals in pre season for Dela Viga got off the ball a couple of times in the early CONKERCAF games and Nick come the Sounders with Ferrera farst side the right. What comes in. It's hooked into the middle of the park. Hamba looks like attack. Event is given by the referee. Referee was on the blind side, didn't quite see it. Rothrock comes back manages to Nick the ball off Romeiro. A quick throw by
Dallas down the line. He goes by more into the foot of Julio. Good defending, strong defending by Jackson, just read the play well. Julio stopped the ball. He was able to flip it a win and then calmly plays it in but given away slowly to moose the top of the box and Kilroe. That's not what Brian Schmittz is gonna won from his center back.
Absolutely not. It looked Jackson Macan did a really good job. There be much faster Julio against him. Got the ball away, but you got to maybe sure you connect that first pass, get them out because again on top of the box, you don't want to give someone, anyone in Dallas that much time.

It's gonna roll it from center to the far side the right to young Kilney de la Vega already getting involved. Be good to get him a run of games. We'll see what his minute count will be today. Thirty minutes last week, coming off the bench when the sounds worth three nil down, I asked Brian Schmitz about that decision. He said, yeah, we needed to get him some games.
We need to get him some minutes. And the players now are so regulated in terms of how many minutes they can play depending on what their readings are during the course of training. Good sliding tackle by Nu, who picked up in the middle of the party cake on his first start, rolls it out to a Costa, tries to find the foot of Julio, gets it back right corner of the box, clipped in and.

It looks as if the Seattle Sounders are kind of just shooting himself in the foot. The first five minutes of every came at the moment because they've given them all the way atop of the bar of their own box three or four times. Now, can they get it find someone's feet if they need to. Dana Massowski is good at holding the ball up. Can you find his feet, his chest a way to kind of break it out and not get the ball away at that back third.
It's gonna be a throw for Dallas. On this near side, they're right with Jack Moore came in from Nashville on that right hand side. Ball rolls in center the park to del Gardo to Norris, tries to find the ball into a Cossa jumps over the ball clear by the Sounders, but not too far. It's gonna be Delgado again. On this left hand side, goes out to Norris, comes in towards the near side of the six yard books. Musa comes across, clips it over the top. It's gonna be

It was a great cross and good run from Musa there, but well done by Jackson Reagan. I'll call that a half chance, but it is something a little bit of threat from Dallas already.
Yep. Dallas come into this game the third least kilometers run in MLS, so it kind of falls back into their rhythm of what they've done in years past.
Absorb some pressure, remember that back in twenty twenty three.
I think when the sound has played in the MLS playoffs, they absorb pressure, absorb pressure and then they broke quickly in the attack and they're trying to feed that verticality again listening to some of the interviews with the general manager, that's the reason why they wanted Leo Chew. Can they get up and down the field a bit more speed? Anderson Julio of course helps you with that. Patriques and del Garde on the left hand side helps with that.
And then you've got the maestro in the middle in a Costa brought in for five million dollars, as we mentioned, to try and make everything tick.
You can get the two Ecuadorians with pace on the wings. They've got Musa who's creating as well as scoring, can hold the ball up. But of course, like you said, that little maestro in Acosta who's able to play those balls in behind.
There's Musa three assistem his year and knocks it over the top, but cooked clear by the Sounders and New good clearance by New just causes some problems on the clearance. But it's going to be Downash to pick it up. A good pocket picked boy rolled on and then Dowas win it again. It's been back and forth so far in these early minutes of the game. As Ferrera comes back, clash your bodage, referee just gets to the middle of it.
It's no need for a yellow card, but he's going.
To get one, and we'll see it looks like it's gonna be on cake.

Farra standing above him, stays on the ground saying the referee does here callen, But it looks like it's a foul on the Sounders and it's gonna be a new yellow card, which is not what Kike the debutante wants in the middle of the park early in this game.
I mean, it confuses me a little bit We're seven minutes in, he's talking one, two, three. I'm not even sure we had three thousand in the game thus far, So I'm confused about the yellow card. Obviously it goes in the favor of Seattle Sounders, but you know, it looks like just an unlucky play. Heyzus stepped in at a good time and it was I'm a little unfortunate. So it's a heartfelt I think for me, but you know, we'll take it.
Yeah, just looking at the replay there, for I came in just knit the ball off the foot of Kaiker's a little late, more clumsy than anything. I'm not sure it deserved a yellow card.
But again, it's the referee setting the standard.
Now, if he's gonna give a yellow card for that, Kellen, it's gonna have to be consistent, which is going back to what we always talk.
About, which is consistency with referees.
However you're gonna call the game, just be consistent.
It's so tough because, like I said, we're seven minutes in here, going on the eighth minute, and you're already giving a yellow card for something that was, like you said, clumsy rather than an actual you know, vicious foul, and so I'm wondering what consistency. Of course, I think I'm hoping that he then learns his lesson and keeps the yellow cards on his bat.
Ball goes along, challenged by Yam up ball bound to the middle is new who somehow found himself in the middle of the park from a long clearance. Not sure again positionally that's why Brian Schmittzer want him, but he picks it up. Sounders have it this near side the left with Paul Rothrock, who started to find his feet. It's bit of a stop start season for him, and he's getting some starts now that left un side.

Stat more quickly into that man down the six yard box, and he was Denny Mussovski flying in trying to get in the end of it, couldn't quite make connection. And here come Dallas in transition with Norris down the left hid side. Good defend him by Koloney. Athletic kid. Of course, we know Brian Schmitzer appreciates the athleticism on that right hand side, and good tracking back by the young men that we talked about.
The athleticism and Ali's Goldan has been kind of holding down that right back spot, but a guy like Kilani is willing to take and do the work that Alex had done as well. But going back to that last chance, it's again a bit about half chance, but you'd love to see that the Sounders on the front foot there rolled on. The ball goes out of bounce. He quickly picks it up and throws it in to Paul Rothrock who finds a ball in.
Dannisovski Christian ruled on middle of the park playing alongside over Vargas.

We know he'd stepped up Alin in the last couple of weeks.
But that's like last week Gat san Diego dropping back next to Obed. Those two made a really good partnership, and of course with the surging form of Danny Laver, it's allowed Josh Atensio to go find pastures new just before the start of the season as he moved to Colorado in a million and a half dollar deal. As a Costa rolls it between the legs and just kind of throws down, but it's thrown down by New no foul give him by the referee. It comes New down
the left hand side twenty five yards from the end line. Sure, Mantha, referees pulling it back? Can you make rhyme a reason? But what that is? I don't think he went out of bounce. Was he offside?
I'm you know, I'm literally stratching my head. I'm not sure if there was an off the ball thing or what a play here? As we see the replay from a cost he's obviously just toying around a little bit and having some fun. But I'm not sure what's going on.
Eleventh minute Neil nil Sounders Dallas down in Frisco. Nice warm evening. There's a cost that gets it on the half turn, that tries to roll in, move so quickly at top of the box, challenged by Yama Good defending by the Sounders center back steps forward again, wins the ball solid as you like back there as the ball goes down to Missoski as he clatters into Ibiaga, more of a clash of bodies than any type of foul.
Actually it was er er Gidi, the new signing from the Netherlands three point one million dollar transfer, playing alongside MLS vett Ibiaga.
Once again a Costa finding the ball having some little bit too much space in my liking and just threading a great Paul Hindo Musa who just couldn't get it under his feet. But it's another threatening.
Pass from a Costa in the Dallas there's Danny Mussoski came off the bench. It's Sando's a tough ball by Danny Missovski was right in front of him. He tried to roll it back I think all the way back to Jackson Riega, North Seph and Fry. But a few little questions been asked between the two Sounders players. As the ball does recochet around, Sounders pick it up middle of the on the far side the right with Kohlan.
He just wriggles free of Kaike, who's on that yellow card as a cost of challenges Jack Reagan, good cal'm play by Jackson Reagan. Fans Mussovski just across the halfway line this near side the Sounders left finds a ball into Rothrock just to thread the needle between goalkeeper and back line. Good play by pass read the danger stepped out of his six yard box picked it up, but it was Rothrock trying to find that run of Jesus Frere early from that left hand side.
Sounders now backing up defending.
At the top of their box, which last week Kellen San Diego played with fire playing out of the back. It didn't really cost them where The Sounders have certainly done their homework this week and started to put a bit more Hyghe pressed, looking to try and force the game and win the ball further out the field.
What's also a different team in San Diego's. Tan Diego is just a quality on the ball and they wanted to play out. I think their two sixers were really big in that in that game.
Well, Dallas doesn't.
Have that ball down the right hand side Sounders happened with Kolaney just cuts it across and it just whisks past that far post. It was a trickling type of cross shot. Mussovsky couldn't quite get there. It goes over the end line. It's gonna be a Dallas goal kick here in the thirteenth minute. Nil nil.
But the Sounders in transition is starting to find some gaps.
Well, it's almost a replay of what that Charlotte gold Perrera and Kilane and look, Kilanie is gonna do the work. We talked about his athletic kid he's willing to do the work and he saw him streaking down again. Ferrera on the ball. Who can play those balls in between and behind lines? Now it's just that final bit of quality. Can he play that ball in massofsky? Can you find a harder run in the box?
Sounded some high press inside the e gen yard box or goes into Norris. Good step by Kilaney. It's a slip by del Gado, I think on the far side. Sounders, do you pick it up? This on the foot of Kolan he goes back to Yama has been solid as Iraq as well. Sounders defense have been very good this year, but it's been individual errors at times that have cost the Sounders. They're the and it comes della Vega. Can the Sounders find some threat in the attacking third towards
the end? Ninety goes goal kick given it was Norris whos slip to the ground he asked for the gold kick came off the shins of de la Vega. Gonna be a goal kick. But Sounders are starting to edge into that attacking third more Kellen and finding some.
Pockets of space and finding some threat.
Well, it's also coming outside the wing side right, it's coming out the left side with Paul Rothrock kind of finding away and getting those crosses in early. You have Kilania and d la Vega streaking down this right side. I like the fact that they're using therewith and using their strength.
Hazus Ferrara pushing in deep as he tries to put pressure. Sounders do a good job win the ball inside. They're attacking half for the field. Rothrock throws it in right front of Brian Schmidt, so on his feet, suited and booted as ever, looking sharp, looking for that vital three points today. Can the sound Des started to pull themselves
off the bottom end of the table. It comes Vargas to Ferrera, all clipped in, say some referee flag on the far side went up and Prere just inched off side looking for that ball as Sounders are trying to build into some possession fifty five percent possessions so far for this As branisch Metz has mentioned over years past, that fifty five percent is the level they want to see this team at in terms of managing possession, managing
the game. Fifty seven percent on average this season, so the Sounders are sitting just in third spot in MLS in terms of possession of the ball, and it's Dallas who are sitting third from bottom in possession of the ball at forty five percent, So right now it's sitting exactly how the statistics across the season have been standing coming into this game.
Well, you talk about possession, and possession is great, but there's always got to be something for it, right as possession with purpose in my opinion, and so can the
Sounders have that possession? Of course, fifty five is great where you're on the ball, you're not running as much usually, can you find a way to make it dangerous and not just keeping the ball on the back Because Dallas at the moment is very happy and you can see they're very happy through their season to where they're sitting in the standards as well.
Yeah, LAFC of course have done it over years so successfully where they absorb pressure. Steve Trundle, it doesn't mind LAFC not having the ball because there's such a threat going forward and they've obviously proved that consistently over the last handful of years. Sounders have it. Get here in the sixteenth minute Neil Neil Frisco, Texas Sounders, Dallas, Dallas havebit far side the left with Norris and then Ramiro. Seven starts so far in the season for the Brazilian.
Two Brazilians starting in the middle of the park for Dallas. The other Brazilian, of course, one we know so well, Leo Chu, is sitting on the bench. He's been a starter this season, so show's a little bit disappointment for Leo not getting to start against his old team. Lots a build up around his game against his old team from Leo Chu and of course has his fro again.
The same type of attention, but it comes the sound as Dela Vega, Dela Vega who his lifting off the post and a rebound by Massosky back of the goalie goes fantastic pomp shot from Petro de la Vega from all of twenty five thirty yards came in off his left foot, curled it to the far post, ricocheted off the posts right place, right time. Danny Mussovsky knocks it into an empty goal and they put the Sounders up one goal to nil.
As you look at this, Dala vegot he was thinking, okay, do I play? Do I play? And when everyone he wins that on his left foot everyone's going, ah, you know he a little far out, but man does he rip this off the post? And Danny Massovski first one too, and I will say Ovid Vargas is there as well. You see two Sounders off the post, first reaction. That's what you want for the Seattle Sanders team who's not going through a great stretch, and they're the ones that
are on the front foot. And then Danny Massovski finding a way to find the back of the net. Doesn't care how it goes in. If it goes in, it's great. And these goals hopefully will come in streams.
First goal in MLS for Danny Missovski this year was a stop start season for him in his first season with the Sounders in twenty twenty four, but gets a start tonight. Now is rewardings Bruin, Schmittze and the coaching staff with a goal. It doesn't matter how it comes, whether it's a pile driver or.
A knock into an empty net, they all count the same.
If Danny Massovski gets the Sounders on the board, it's been what they've deserved. Sounders have it left corner of the box. Now can they find a quick fire second with Paul Rothrock top of the boxes open, tries to curl the ball just right inches wide of the posts. You could see the lift of Spirits already. Just a minute after that first goal, you see Paul Rothbrock finding a way to go down goal hazus for making darting runs and obviously the confidence of Ovid Vargas from about again about twenty twenty five yards out to open his body up and whip it and just had you know almost nick that post.

It's almost like he knows that he's gonna, you know, have a time limit here, and he's making the most of it. But for me, it was Dani Missovski being the first one to react. He's not having the.
Most He's Julio towards the end line, quick responds by Dallas, comes off the heels of Jackson Reagan over the end line, corner kick for Dallas. So for Dallas, can they find themselves back in the game. We know, Kellen, the first five minutes after you score a goal always so vital for both teams, but for the Sounders. Now they're gonna have to defend this corner kick.
We talked about the first five minutes, in the last five minutes of each hap, but also after you score it, and something the Sounders have not done well has actually locked that down. So as they go into this corner and make sure it's a little things, where's your guy? Can you get a hand on them? Can you make sure that you're in front of the person before they actually get a hand for help.
Sounders need to defend this corner kick with a cost or on this near side outswinger with this right foot. It goes in headed up by Moosa, goes over the end Line's going to be a goalkick for Sounders and for Stephen Fry. But your Moosa has been a real revelation for Dallas coming in last year. It's been a hot start from the number nine for Dallas. Three goals, three assists on his campaign so far.

Right now, you have Damasowski coming in not scoring many goals and having a hard time and finding his back at the back of the net today and you have a Musso who's just a fire start to his season.

It's been much different starts to this game than it was last.
Week it was and you know, I'm actually gonna put a lot of pressure out on Hazes Ferrari here because I like the way he's playing. I like that this is the perfect position for him. I know he brought him in almost as a nine winger, but when he drops in and finds the ball and has time and space, his ability to make some very good passing, especially behind the back line like we just saw, it's where he's thriving.
Hews Ferrara spoke to the media this week, talks a lot about his ability is to run in behind that teammates need to figure out his game as he does everybody else, and it's not too it's not fitting the pressure too much in terms of his lack of goal scoring capacity. Right now, he's got a number of assists on his campaign, three assists but no goal so far for the man who really had a storming career with Dallas.
But here comes del Gado, ricocheted shot off that man for Ara coming back to help defensively, good defending by Rothrock towards the end line, and there's the referee's flag goes up and there's a confusion. It's like he's potentially a offside deep and the sound is half the field, just a yard or so from the end line. Referee so far, Callen, I'm an inconsistent. I would say a little confusion in his cause. But for this one, the sounds will take it.
I like again, sketching my head. I'm not quite sure what's what happened there. I thought it was a block shot and everything was okay, But you know, we'll take this one. The yellow card was a little weird. I thought the goalkicks can kind of be played as a normal now, but everything at the moment, it's going towards the sounds.

can do that. Sometimes he tries to be calm consistent with his messaging, but sometimes with the type of players you've got in this locker room as well, sometimes I kick out the backside kell and can can do the work. And it seems that the Sounders players have reacted.

And look, I've been in the locker room when Brian Smester gets a little bit of his angry dad's side and he's you know, things are flying around, things are getting kicked, and you know you're listening to the words and not so much the vocal of the words and how high pitched they are.
But oh no, see yellow card from Masoski, just a silly yellow car and he had the ball. He was a free kick that was conceded by Yemar deep in the Dallas half of the field, and Massovski just goes ahead and kicks it away. And that's just one of those things that will cause Brian Schmittzer to pull his hair out.
Well, it's one of those that you know, the rap is given an early yellow card. You know he's willing to give it to again to kind of even it out. You've gotta be smart about it. I know that there's a foul. Yamar takes the foul, but damis House. You know that there's gonna happen. Just just be smart. This is a rap that wants to give cards at the moment, so just be smart.
Fifty to fifty possessions so far, so Dallas have rebounded after that goal from the sound as sounds. I look, when you go to Texas Orlando, many of those four teams in the summertime, which I've done too many times now, it's hard to breed out to the warm up and you're just kind of fighting through everything and you're trying to find your second third fourth win just in the first half, you know, flew yourself down after.

There's always going to be a few mistakes. And my biggest thing for me is when you.
Want to try to play at the back, you've got to make sure that someone's going to lose the ball. It just happens. It's a game of soccer, right If you do lose the ball, who's going to be the ones to recover? Everyone just needs to not tryang go win the ball every time, but just come back, get in front of the ball or get behind the ball, make sure there's a solid defense there because it's going to happen. Can you make it happen in the easier times well?

I thought Norris did a really good job there. He actually put in a very good tackle on Dela Vega. And I think he got a lot of ball there in Dela Vega obviously, you know, taking his momentum over his leg. But he could have called the first one. I rather him called the first one on on Paul Rothrock. But look, it was easy ball from the Sounders to
get give space time to Acosta. Well played by Paul Rothrock to get out some space, make a good ball in and payd Dela Vega kind of paying for this hard tackle.
Full slate of games in MLS today. A couple of games just to make note off of a Western Conference fans. Vancouver continue their incredibly strong start to the season. They're winning four nil at home at the seventieth minute against Austin and then Salt Lake winning on the road against Nashville, who the Sounders will play back at home next week at Lumenfield. They've had three straight games on the road
of the Sounders. It's not been an easy group of road trips in terms of results, a good come from behind draw against San Jose and then a three toner lost last week against San Diego. But if the Sounders can rustle up a result here leading one nil, we'll go back home and they'll feel much better about themselves that they start to find some form. And there's a question we asked Brian Schmetz today in that production meeting was offensively, the stats are there the second in cornet kicks,
first in shots in MLS, but only nineteenth goals. So it's just a factor of those things clicking and the attacking third. But in terms of build out over sixteen shots per game, you know the threats there. It's just a factor of the final touch.
It's the final touch and the quality of that final type. May we talk about the possession with purpose? Can that shot have purpose as well? Are we just playing it in just to play it in every crossing just across the ball? Can we find someone and actually pick someone out that way it's more of a dangerous play than just a half chance.
Jordan Morris on the bench tonight. We'll see if Brian Schmitzer will introduce him at some point into this game. But a good couple of weeks back in Pretce, of course, picked up an injury on the Travels and CCCS Jackson Wagan goes down rather abruptly. It was a foul on chat Moore. Dallas have really turned things around in terms of engagement with the fan base selling out every single game of the last couple of years.
So the club itself is really turning.
Things around off the field. It's the factor. Now can they find some form on the field. They've had a good start to MLS. I'm trying to understand now what that foul is. Kilaney received the ball, got pressure, seemed to shrug off a Costs who went down to the ground, rolled it out. We'll see a replay here, Kellen, once we get it.
I got to enjoy this piece. The game has changed a little bit since even when I started playing it. When you played, your hands are there to protect, but also you know, shield a body if a player gets hit with your hand because they run into your hand. I don't believe that is a foul and I'm not a huge fan of this, but you know, the game has obviously changed and you got to you gotta be careful where you're flairing your hands.
But unlucky for Colonie in my opinion, Yeah, it.
Was a good play by Colonie, stepped in well, won the ball seemed very clean. Fortunately for the Sounders it was a free kick and they give it away with dela Vega who chases the ball down looking sharp. We again, we'll see what de la Vega has in terms of minutes allowed by the coaching staff and the medical stepper. I think Paul Rothbrock did there, did all the hard stuff, dropped his shoulder, created a lot of space for himself, and then you know, kind of took his eye off the pall there.
And gave an easy one away.
But it allowed Dallas to kind of get some momentum, get forward and almost catch on a half break. I would say, Seattle Sounders, but you know, winning the ball back and allowing someone to shoot. From twenty five to thirty yards out with no real pressure. I'm okay with it, especially in the past two times that Julie is trying to take that shot.
Thirty fifth minute, ten minutes ago of this first half, we'll see all the referee adds on sound is leading one nil back of a Mussofsky goal rebounded shot from a Della Vega twenty five yard pop shot that came off the post. They held the line well top of their eighteen yard but it finds Musovski finds Rothrock gets clipped by Mussa, coming back to help his team defensively. What I love about that last defensive play is Paul Rothrock before that made a darting run behind the back line, and who was the one to cover for him in the back line.

Made sure to make that sixty yard run to make if there was a cross, he was gonna be there to defend, because like that's what you have to do. If a guy's at a position, someone else has to fill it.

It was a couple of giveaways from the Sounder in the middle of the park with Vargas and then Roldan trying to knock the ball over the top. But now the Sounders are going to have to defend this free kick.
There's this crafty, playing smart plague. Kay knew he wasn't going to get past Glani and he kind of just throws himself in so Glanny has to fallom in a dangerous spot. With the guy that could cast her over the bar.
Costa has it far side there left, just tucked in from that far touched line, thirty yards or so from the end line. We know the quality that Acosta has. Twenty twenty three MVP. With Cincinnati one arm up in the air, Sounder is defending inside their eighteen yard bocks. Fry has been somewhat of a spectator in this first half.
Sounders have really controlled much of this game, but Dallas are creeping back into it as they continue to knock on the door, try to find a response before the halftime break.

Here more comes in from a Costa he was new who goes down, immediate whistled by the referee. It feels how that happens a lot, right. You get this hustle and bustle inside the eighteen yard box. Kellen defender goes down, The referee doesn't even think about it, puts the whistle to his mouth, free kick. Sounders get a chance to take a breath.
I'd love to see the refs type kind of like let that play out a little bit and maybe call it back later on, especially with the var times that we have at the moment. But for Stephen fry you talked about, he hasn't had much to do. And these are the big moments that keepers have. Is you maybe get one or two saves and a half or even sometimes in a game. Can you be the ones to
make it? And Stephen Fryar has made a career off making sure that he makes those saves in the big moments, and he's happy to see that one go over the wall.
Yep, no shots on target so far off the dallas. Just the one for the sounds. That was the goal by Mussovski. There comes de la Vega, wriggles free just right a center, look at to try and maybe you take another shot?

Petre de la Vega once again finding a way to make something happen. And this is the guy that that the Seattle Sounder fans and then teams and coaches really wanted from a guy like Patri Delabega. He fakes a shot, everyone's kind of watching the ball, watching the ball. He makes a guy fall and instead of taking that shot, he is a crafty little ball and a good run
from Masofski. Now, can Masovski find a way instead of just putting the ball in the box and find someone because he had two guys in the back post, if you could just give a little bit of a chip, I think Paul Rothrocks winning that header and that could be a two zero.
That's the benefit of having that outside player that can come in. The demand from the coaches. Stuff I know is to get those outside backs on the weak side coming in. But the Sounders do have a chance. If I'm up in the air by Ferrera Fos side the right outswinger, this right football comes in, Bulls players bodies down to the ground. No foul given this time by
the referee. Rolthrow just clips it back in, good cushion ball into Massovsky brings it down hook clear by Ebiaga, challenged by Rothrock wins it off Kayak towards the end ninety goes. The Brazilian comes back, does a good job and Shack Moore helps his teammate out slips to the ground. De la Vegas picks it up. Bill ricochets around, miscontrolled and cleared by Dallas back line as Dela Vega just cuts by the Brazilian kayak tries to curl it just
over the top. Gonna be a goalkick for Dallas. Remains one nil, just a few minutes to go here in this first half. Branch Metz will be satisfied with the team's performance and certainly their response from last week's poor three nil loss at San Diego.

The guys are responding with work.
It's not just a little bit of play, a little bit of quality, but they're working hard as well. You see Paul Rothrock chasing the ball down in the corner, d la Vega coming over to the other side and chasing the ball as well and finding ways for guys to miss.
Of Coursa has it twenty five yards from the Sounders goal. Stefan Frey just perched inside his eighteen yard box. Sounders back line holding just a couple of yards outside the eighteen yard box, defending Dallas who have the ball in this nil side the right with Ramiro the Brazilian goes to the foot of Musa, tries to clip it to the far side to del Gado, comes out by the sounders.
Picked up now by Kayak to the foot of cost Lord with little clip around the corner back to Moosea given go inside the echin yarv I was picked up top of the box by Musa. Costa has it strike good block by new who ball ricochets out to this near side the right with Shaq Moore comes back. Look given go by Ramiro or fell given by the referee. Eventually it's given. We'll see if the assistant referees flag was the person helping out again a delayed response by the referee.
We'll look at this. I think it was Paul Rothbark who just obstructed. It's someone in Dallas, but look it's it's a rough one. I'm not sure what they're gonna give here, but for me, it's watching this game the little bit. It's a quality in the in the continuous movement of a. Costa is incredible to watch because when he gets the ball, his eyes are always up, he's always looking. But once he plays the ball, he's always taken one or two steps either side in finding it again.
And the quality from the Dallas players don't need to know this and get the ball back to him as fast as possible and knowing that they're gonna get a good poll in return it. He's fun to watch.
Sounders happy to defend him. Another free kick now ninety seconds to go over the forty five. We'll see what the referee adds on it. Into this first half, sound is defending just outside their six yard bus line of blue shirts, line of white shirts. Two men wall in Kilaney and Ferrera. He's already got a cleat off and for their main man Musa to pick up some type of knock towards the end of this first half would not be what FC Dallas need. And it looks like the medical staff for
telling the bench that his night could be over. He looks in some level of distress and you'd hate to see injuries calumd But for the Sounders, Musa was really their main threat, certainly coming into this game. Three goals, three assists on his year. We'll see what changes Dallas make before this halftime.
Break, especially with the way that he and a casta can connect and that they are looking for each other, and they're very dangerous and obviously they're very good quality. You don't want to see any injuries, like you said, but for the sounder's sake, this is a bit of a left that's for sure.
I think just looking at the replay there, I think he came off the shot of rolled On. He seemed to stand and rolled On's plant foot, rolled his ankle it looked like, and hobbled off and now he's off the field lying on his back. Dallas coming out of the MLS draft. It's going to be a corner kick now for Ferrera with his right foot far side the right clips it in towards the front corner of the six yard box, headed clear by Dallas, picked up by Kolane, given away by Kilany, but then recovered and a good solid challenge by rolled On. Flicks it around the corner to Ferrara, expects to run around the corner, goes out the far side. Sounders will take
that all day long. As we get here in the final thirty seconds of added time, we'll see what else the referee adds on.
And this is the light of final three minutes now or two minutes, whatever you want to call it. It's it's about locking it down. You're up one Zerreal, get into the half upper goal and let's let's regroup in the second half.

I agree. I don't know if he looks like he's grabbing a little bit of a nry, I won't speculate, but I mean when he talked about his last play and it wasn't we talked about a rolled ankle. We roll our ankles every time.
We walk now because how much we've played.
But he did get a step on it as he rolls it, so just rolls that little bit farther and it did. It's hard to recover from something like that, especially when Jackson Reagan's going up against someone like a Julio's who's trying to run by him every time. So hopefully we can get into half and Jackson just needs a second off and he can come back in the second half.

In the second half against San Jose there one nail down after a real sloppy goal, they conceded, they came back and it was Rouznak in the eightieth minute the score that equal lines on a much improved performance. Last week, there were down three nil at halftime. Game was by all accounts over, but the Sounders managed to come out and put a bit of bite into the second half. Didn't concede anything else.
Just looking at a replay here, maybe just.
An overstretch from Jackson Reagan Kellen versus maybe something from the previous knock.
Yeah, again, we don't want to speculate, but it looks as if, yeah, that was a bit of an overstretch. And look, Jackson Raids is a tough guy, so hopefully he can find a way and it's a simple just a little tweak, a little a little feeling and he can help me find his way back on the second half. But for the Sounder is now going to be down a man for I don't know, a minute, thirty seconds, I'm not sure how long it's gonna The ref is going to let it go, just lock it down.
Be safe and smart because your center backs out well.
I think at this point the referee just needs to blow his whistle. When a couple of players go off with injury than the Sounders, it won't make any changes. We'll see what happens with Jackson Reagan. There are some options on the bench kim kihe back of course with the Sounders squad sitting on the bench, as is Jonathan Bells, so a couple of change options for the Sounders. Interesting to see what they do with that central area because sometimes it's a little easier to switch out the players
to the left and right. It's the central player that's usually the catalyst for what happens. The ball goes long, Yemar heads the ball and there's the referees whistle. Finally, almost seven minutes of added time, so four minutes of added time over the three. But it sound as we'll walk into the locker room happy. And it was Musovsky in the seventeenth minute, a rebound off a great shot from Pedro de la Vega that hit the post and
it was Musovsky right place, right time. And the seventeenth minute that put the ball in the back of the net. Call and row your final thoughts.
Look, it's a little bit of confusion and drama and late ines in this half. The Seattle Sounders go in. You be happy with the one zero, but find a way to control these emotions again from out the second half. That work rate's got to stay, the quality has to come up a little bit better, and make sure that the little things are right right.
Can you step to the right person at the right time.
Can you make sure that your defender is next to you that you need to have in your information.
And then can you find the right ball in the box to make sure.
That we can kind of defeat this team at.
Two, three, four zero if you can.

Yeah, it was a great It was a great first half for the Sounders for sure. You know, I mean, I think you're not really giving full credit for that goal. I mean, Della Vega has a shot from outside, Muzowski makes a good move to follow it in check for a rebound, hits off the post. It's bouncing. I've seen those missed from farther out. I was seven yards out.
I've seen them miss from two yards. So I mean it's a great finish and a goalscorer finish, right You're going for that opportunity to come off the goalkeeper or anything, right, and that's when the defenders shut off right because they're facing away from the goalkeeper. They got to turn around forward boom straight in.
Great goal to take good awareness there I stand corrected. But let's talk about that save though, because against most MLS goalkeepers, Christian Roldan would have made it to nothing there in what was the forty fifth plus one minute. I mean that save by marm pause was special and keeps this match. If if you're Dallas right now, if we're doing the Dallas halftime show, we're talking about that safe keeping us in the game right now.
Yeah, it was a great save, rolled in you know from distance as well, lines up great strike and you know there was room for it to get in, but that was top corner. You know, he goes goes with two hands, goes up with the top hand to deflect it out as a great say.
We saw at the end of the half Jackson Reagan did go down with what looked like an injury.

How do we hold this thing down?
Well, we were talking about the first five minus in the game, right, and you know, we get a corner kick two minutes in what do we do? We play it short? Right, and literally we went back and we had to go run back all the way to wear goal. There was nothing more frustrating than playing a short corner and nothing comes of it. Right, you got a great chance to keep them under pressure, in which the Sounders did a great job in the second half. You know,
one nill up. You know, sometimes you get in that little defense or we're not going to go forward. They kept going with the pressure right even away from home, right, we had opportunities. We were kept possession high up in the field. Excuse me, they were organized today, not letting Dallas come out of the back easy. We were getting a lot of winbacks, getting throw ins that where they couldn't find a pass, ball goes out for a throw
and we regain possession again. Sounders did a great job today of that.
Well, we need to stay disciplined in the second half. New stay disciplined and if we can get that second goal that would be just fantastic. Leading one nothing right now here at the half, Danny Jackson, Callan Rowe will come back for the second half. They went to the halftime locker room one goal up in this game, off the back of a seventeenth minute strike from Danny Massovski. Couldn't miss open goal. He was a ricochet shot off the post from dead Pedrodela Vega, who came inside his left foot, whipped it in, crashed off the post and
it was Danny Massossi. Took the chances all good goalscorers need to do, took an opportunity, took a risk.
And the rebound fell to his feet and he couldn't do anything.
More than knock it into the empty net and put the Sounders up one goal to nil, So we'll see what Brian Schmetz will do comeing out this second half. We know that Pegado La Vegas could be on a minute's count. Jackson Reagan went off just before halftime, picked up, well, we look like potentially a muscular injury from a stretch clearance And Kelen Rode, you've been at half time with
Brian Schmittzer. But based on what you saw in the first half, what do you think the tenure of the tenor of the messaging is from Brian Schmetzer today at halftime.
I think it's about just keep going right.
You have a you have a shutout coming out with with Stephen Fry who's obviously going to try and make it as many states as possible.
He's one of those that can can sort out that backline.
Can you just keep going the work rate that you have going forward, the pressing that is working and finding you chances in that in that final third. Can you make sure that you just have everything cleaned up and well, les we see that the two sabs coming out, but can these guys step up to the to the level of play at the moment and keep this game going well?
Two subs coming off coming on the field at halftime with kin ki He. We explect that to be a lightful like switch for Jackson Reagan and hopefully nothing too serious for Jackson. But kim Kihee gets his first minutes as a Sounder again. Of course, was here twenty nineteen for the championship game the championship season.

So convincingly he's going to slide in light for light switch for Jackson, and then Danny Lager coming off the bench comes on for looks like Pedro de la Vega. Expect Obed and Christian to continue just stay in the middle of the back, middle of the midfield, right in front of that back three and Kimki he's sliding into the central area of the field. Can Coloney pick someone out there? He looked like he just kind of whipped it in to whip it in, but he saw Ferrera kind of darting in that run on that backside. Can he find Farrera's head. Can he find a dragging runner. It's a little bit of quality. Take your time, pick your head up and
find it. It's just the next step for Colonie.
It's gonna be a corner kick for the Sounders. Danny Leaver's going to take it on this near side the right aunswringer of his right foot goes to the far side, headed down by kim Key. He his first touch as a sound Obed kicked by Yamar from eighteen yards out. Force pass to have to make the save.
He has more of a clearance than an actual attempt on goal. But it was well done by Yamart. It's just to be athletic enough to get his hit leg up there.
Incredible athleticism by Yamas. Leving know the solid start to his campaign. Of course, he and Jackson have been right up there for MLS Defriender of the Year nominations in the last couple of years. Sounders win it middle of the park.
We've rolled on to Obed Vargas to be great to hit.
Obed getting a bit more involved in the offensive part of the field. Rolled On talked a lot about his role in this season, coming in maybe sitting a little bit deeper allowed Obed to kind of open up his game. We know he can got the athleticism to move forward,
but now it's doubts left corner box and Farringtons. He clips it in, but goold you offend him by Kim Key solid play and then good experience to knock the ball down the line, just clear as his lines as Dallas was squeezing in trying to win it off the Sounder's back line.
It's gonna be Ebaga building.
With no pressure for the back as the sound is just inside the Dallas half of the field as they build.
Like I think was well done by Keyhi there to kind of make sure he was good one one defending. But he was a little bit out of position there and you can kind of see him. He was over on the other side, so he had both center backs on one side of the half. If you cut it down, it's a little bit too far from men can Stephen Fry is well done defensively, like can he make sure that those little things to go the right way?
His pass clear as the lines was a brilliant saved by pass in that first half off a driving shot by Christian Roldan so it's gonna be free Kate front offside.

Foot of Ramiro, Brazilian player playing in the middle of the park alongside Okaykho gets his first start in at Dalla's shirt to I had two Brazilians alongside each other sitting in front of the back floor as Saski comes back and just rolls it all the way back to Stephan Fry. There's the boy. It was Julio coming in. It just went under his foot.
Crazy, what a goal can do. You see Massovski working hard again. Obviously the ball comes out and it's not a great ball is in the midfield and he runs thirty forty yards to find a way to make sure.

It's the little things that happen, a little bit of confidence that gives this guy a willingness to run a little bit more and I love.

The former Oregon State player so roots in the Pacific Northwest. He comes on for Moosa, their main man goal scorer, three goals, three assists on his campaign. He had to go off right the end of the first half through an injury, but it come the Sounders all loosen the ball by Labor finds top of the box with Vargas gets pulled down. It's going to be a foul Romero on Vargas, and that's exactly what we've been talking about. Can Vargas get more involved in the attack and third
of the field. This time he wins a free kick just outside the eighteen yard box and a chance for the Sounder to try test pass again.
Instead of going to the easy ball and making it go out wide looking, he takes a player on, finds a way to be dangerous and finds a way to get clipped. And now he's gonna pay for that one a little bit. But he's creating enough. He's finding way to beat a player. And now he's got a good free kick chance on top of the box and.

We know hazes Frere would love to be able to step up and whip a ball over the wall and in the back of the net for his first goal for the Sounders against his old club. Yea referee has been very liberal with his yellow cars. Tonight it's matching his shirt. If it does feel like when you set the stage for early yellow cars that you did against. I think kay with that what we thought was a bit of an innocuous challenge, more clumsy than anything. You're setting yourself up for. I wouldn't say failure, but you're certainly setting yourself up to manage the game
in a consistent, appropriate way. If you come in tight at the very beginning, you're really causing yourself problems as the game and gets further down the stret down the pike.
You are and as a player, you got to realize this as well. Can you talk about the savviness of a player in the game awareness? You know a raf is going to get in and we watched this tackle again. It was a rough challenge as you put it in slow motion, but you know this raff is going to want to give out cards. Can you get in his ear in a positive way to make sure that he doesn't know that you're you know, when you are talking to him in in a louder voice. Because it is a game,
there is emotions. Can you make sure that he knows it's it's just a one time thing, it's not happening all the time. Can you find a way to get in the revs.
Good Side sound is have it top of the books. With Danny Labor crunching tackle on is it yellow card for Danny Lava? I feel like there was two players coming in slightly late by Danny Lava. There's gonna be another yellow card this time for the Sounders. Man.
I will say for the Sounders, if this game is going to be stop and start like it is, it's almost a positive as long as it's not towards their own box, right, you don't want to get these fouls away. But if it's stop and start, Dallas isn't getting rhythm either, and we're already up on zero. We're just defending a lead and you want to obviously play good soccer and
find ways around it. But if this is going to be stop and start like it is, it's not going to be a track meet and that's positive for the Sounders.

You're gonna start saying you're gonna see the reason that he is the starter from last year.

And Bran Schmidzer likes nothing more than being consistent, knowing what you're to get week in week out. You build your baseline that way. It certainly helps put you on this team sheet. Was it was quality performance and I think it was. It was a team performance. It wasn't one or two guys that stepped up. Yes, guys had performances. I think Danna Missowski was good obviously finding the goal, that Pete de Vega was very good in that first half.

But it was a full team performance. Everyone was working hard, everyone was having a little bit of a quality it was. It was a group performance and ethinic for me on the road especially, that's what you need to get points in this league.

It is a final from Frisco, Texas. Your Sounders have their first win and more than a month one nothing final at FC Dallas. They're gonna come home with all three points. They end the three match road swing with the win, and what a win. It was so much to discuss here over the postgame show. Jackson thoughts Marcus Hannaman here for the next twenty twenty five minutes as we break this thing down, Marcus, there is a lot
to discuss here. From a one nothing game where the goal was scored in the seventeenth minute, that was a crazy second half.
What are your just opening thoughts here?
Well, they needed a way win, right, and how a win changes everything? Right, you start moving up on the table and you know it's hard. And then you could see what it meant to the guys on the field and after the game and stuff like that. They were pumped right, and they needed it right. There's a lot of pressure on them, coaching staff, everybody.
And it certainly was. I think Hayesu's Ferreira, you could see how badly he wanted to score to night, like he had a couple good chances and you know one guy saved one was just right, but he was off anyway, But he definitely wanted to score. Even him not getting on the score sheet, it did feel like it does feel like just watching him play and watching the relief and you know, just seeing his demeanor coming off the field that the final.
Whistle, he got a lot out of it.
Maybe this is the sort of thing to get the monkey out of the back, But for a lot of guys like that, just you can feel sort of like, okay, guys, let's breathe. There's a big three points. We're back in this thing. This is Seattle Sounders Soccer.
Yeah. I did tell you during the game that it is a bit weird seeing him in the Sounders cheers. You see him, you're like, especially playing against Dallas, You're like, wait, what's going on here? But he had it. I thought he had a good game. You know, he was involved in a lot of the our key plays, putting pressured on Dallas, you know, good outlet balls. He was in the right spots. And I mean he's a good player.
He is, and I think that that position fits him best when he's in that pocket. And when Albert Rusnak gets healthy, we'll see where he goes. There's gonna be a lot of common named Pedro. De la Vega got forty five minutes, Marcus, and in those forty five minutes dal la Vega, I mean he was energized. His shot causes the rebound that goes for Danny Mazowski to score
the goal. Day la Vega's sort of like, all right, this is Pedro, and if we can kind of keep him healthy and get him rolling on this truck.
He's just such a difference maker on the field.
Yeah, he was our best player in the first half for sure. I mean he was all over the place. He's involved in everything, and you know, looks good on the ball. And you know when he took that shot, I'm like, come on, and then off the post and I'm like, oh, okay, here we go. I mean, beautiful start. But you know, I thought I was a little bit far for him to be shooting, you know, with his left foot, a little curler and but pinpoint accuracy off the post. You know, that's what it needs.

It was interesting that it surprised the heck out of me as I was kind of coming back into the room, got a minute and a half into the second half to see that kim Key. He was the replacement for Jackson Reagan who's off due to a right hamstring injury. We'll get an update on that from Brian Schmitzer post game and then later on
in the middle of the week. But it's kim Key he coming on, and you know, for you know thet kim Ky, he an older player who's had some good years in the K League after his couple of years with the Sounders, did a job next to Yemar.
I thought, yeah, no, he looked good. You know, we just make assumptions and you know how that goes.
I wasn't gonna mention the yah yeah, because we're both through the half time kind of like, yeah it's John Bell, Yeah, nope, yeah, okay, but kim did a good job overall, and you know, ultimately we see Danny Lava come on the field as well,
and that midfield there. How many times did we see the Sounders earning possession there, you know, in the final twenty minutes of that game, and it was up Danny Lava or oh Beed Vargas just having to you know, wrinkle away their way out of pressure to keep possession and eat up a lot of minutes down the stretch.
Yeah, Mazowski almost had two goals tonight, that's true. Yeah, and off the post as well, rebound, and you know he was called off sides, but I don't think he was offside. We looked at that. I can't believe they didn't replay it.
So the way I understand this, and it took me a long time reading through the rule book about a year ago actually figuring this out. So on a situation like that, the VAR official wherever I think in the stadium, they are looking at that play over and over and over.
And then the VAR official is in the ear of the head official and they can make a recommendation and they can say no, you need to go look at this to the head official, but the VR official is looking at that over and over figuring out, okay, wait, do you need to look at it? And I guess whoever the VAR official was, I don't have that on my notes, said no, you don't need to look at that, but still I would kind of and then ask the
VR official, that's a pretty darn close play. Why don't you make the recommendation to the head ref to look at it? And you don't and make sure, like I know, like ninety percent of the time that the VAR official recommends go look at that the play gets flipped. I understand that, but still I'll play that close at least make the recommendation to get another pair of eyes on.
That, because I think Danny Lava was the one actually all sides because he was slightly in front and the linesman can't see that, right because they're both in the same in line. But the problem with the VAR right is you have the replay, but it takes way too long, right, and football doesn't take this long. Like we've been waiting in the stadium for two or three minutes and they can't figure it out. It's either like clear and concise and you can figure it out or you can't.
Or just make the recommendation go look at it. Yeah, and they didn't. I don't understand why you can't just make the recommendation. Hey, you don't need to change this call. I'm not telling you to go change call. I'm just saying, head referee.
Go look at it.

I don't know how the VR officials make that mindset of do look at it or don't look at it?
But they they but it was against Dallas Dallas away, so that has something to do with this.
Can we from for a moment as we're as we're talking about, we'll assume they're not cheaters. I think there is a breaking news. Actually there's actually breaking news from Frisco, Texas. The post that Stephan Fry fell into was just given a yellow card after the match ended.

So jingles Bells was from NSL Sounders, like old school all the way we did it. And the best thing about it was having a new player in the locker room who didn't know what was going on. And then you just watch them as everyone starts singing jingle bells.
It is nodding their head, were like, what is happening?
What kind of team did I come to?
I was thinking, you know, Ryan Kent's not in Dallas, right, now he was just getting his visa in Vancouver. But when when Ryan Ken is the first part of that that video of seeing right, what the hell it's gonna be a fun one when we see it. All right, it's time for our Emerald Queen Casino play the match, which will lead into an entire discussion. I gave Danny mczowski the Player of the match because I wanted to use this as a kind of a jumping off point for this discussion.
So listen, this was all.
This was, in all honesty, a very big moment in this match. Ninety first minute, Dallas is on the sounders they're pressing. It's Leo Chu earning himself a great spot. The cross comes into Julio and knew who has an epic moment in the ninety first minute.
It comes Leo Choo towards the endline. He goes bull cuts back top of the bo's great deflection by new right place, right time. It was Anderson. Julio looked all about to knock the ball into the back of the net.
That was the play of the match presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital of Northwest and that ball was going into the back of the net were it not for new Who's big block there.
And it's funny.
I think I think Andrews you said it best where it's it's we see the good of new Who that moment and another block he had a couple seconds earlier. But then also he's getting up the field as an attacker laid in that game. When you're leading one nothing on the road, you're.
A center back new Who, well, and that's what you're talking about early in the game. It's like, okay, hopefully now being part of the back line, right, you're not as you're not asked to do as much going forward as an outside back that you know your role now is to sit back and defend, especially when you're up one zero, especially when you're away at Dallas and it's late in the game. Like you would think that would all come naturally, but I guess not.

We talked in a halftime show about discipline for Newho and it just it wasn't there down the stretch in the most meaningful minutes.
Yeah, and then you know you're gonna get forward. There's gonna be times where you have to do that, but then you know, no interest like in hurrying back. That's that's the issue, because it's going to happen, right, You're gonna have to go forward, and then you know knew who like laid on in the game, there was a so he's like, oh, I'm out of position. I'm chasing back with a defender. So he fouls him, right, which is kind of a smart play, right, because then you
get a chance to go back. But you're like, you got to sprint and get back, right. Yeah, if you can run for, you can run back, especially as a center back. I mean that needs to be a dead sprint back, get in position.
The light jog all the way back was it's concerning, and I mean the end of the game that they showed this on the TV broadcast that we were watching. At the end of the game, Steph's trying to talk to him, Brian's trying to talk to him, and he's kind of throwing his hands up as in like I don't know what. I don't know what he's saying in that moment, but he clearly there were you know, emotions where high frustrations were there, and it sort of is like boy after a one nothing win where you had
these blocks and that attitude. I mean, I don't know as a veteran goalkeeper leader that you were in that locker room that Stephan Fry is right now in that locker room. I'm just not sure what you do in that situation with a guy who clearly it's the good and the bad and he just doesn't want to listen in that moment Knew, who sees the red mist a lot, right, he's just like, you can't, you can't talk to him,
you can't tell him anything. And even Fry tries to grab him, right because you know it's it's after that block, there's this corner, and then there's some pushing and shoving, right and you know Knew who takes everything personally right, and but he's but he's hot headed. But that that's the player that make that he is right, and it makes him who he is too, right, that kind of hot head streak, and so trying to rein that in. But when he's not won't listen to anybody, That's where
the problem comes in. Yeah, I worry about that, but I mean I would hope that everything gets resolved by now. I mean, you know, fifteen minutes after the game end, and I hope everything would be resolved and you know all as well, but he did come up with a massive couple of massive defensive plays.
It's just it is y.
I just would love if it was just the discipline to know, it's one nothing, a few minutes left on the road, gotta stay back, gotta stay.
Home and keep the clean sheet, get the win, and you know, if that goes, if something happens in that situation, right, I mean he's taken the blame.
I mean, I don't know.
It's a tough situation. Yeah, you know, because I would just love the discipline to be there. But at the end of the day, listen again, it's sort of a thing where twenty minutes after the game ends, you hope everything is resolved in the locker room and he'm down, and then all of everybody can celebrate accordingly with jingle bells to bring it all back around. Hey, I think I think you have something to do before we take a break.

Nothing feel give.
It's a mixed bag a little bit, but.
It's overall very happy coming out of a one nothing win where Danny Mazowski scores in the seventeenth minute. We saw him come off maybe a slight knock. We saw Jackson Reagan come off with a right hamstring injury. I should know more about that soon and going into the week. But obviously the center back depth is good. Jonathan Bell, kim Key he you also have Stuart Hawkins at lower level, so you know, if Reagan's out, we got guys as well.
So we'll see about those injury uplis. But as we look ahead for the Sounders in terms of what's next, no midweek game. The next game will be one week from today and it's finally back home at lumen Field. We're gonna be hosting Nashville SC next Saturday, April twelfth. It'll be a four to thirty kickoff at Luhman. It'll also be a provident Swedish pre match show of four o'clock and that's actually gonna be over on the FM station ninety three point three KJR FM four o'clock pre
match four to thirty kickoff. Folks, you can also watch the match on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app. Listen in Spanish language on l RA thirteen sixty. So, Marcus, we know that it's a maybe for Albert Rusnak and maybe for olks rolled on. But the way that we saw Pedro Dale Obga play the way that we saw you know, Jordan Morris has worked back. Didn't see the field,
but we'll see what his availability could be. Uh, this is a team that you know, confidence should be pretty darn good coming out of this went on the road.
Yeah, we're we were looking for Morris to get some minutes tonight, which we're excited for, and we didn't see. But that's fine. Right. It's hard coming off the bench, especially if you're not used to it, because you got to stay warm like the whole time, and it's I think it's easier starting a game right and then and then going because now you get the full warm up, you get yourself into it, and then coming back from injury, if you can't play the whole game, it's like, oh,
how do I how do I feel? How do I get back into this? So hopefully he can just start maybe next game and you know, play as much as he can or whatever.
And yeah, because Pedro was clearly on the forty five minute limit today, So if Jordan can be on the same kind of track and you know, get through forty five minutes against Nashville and then that would be huge, especially whatever is going on with Missoski. Just giving you that option is great, but you know, with with Pedro and that attack on there, Nashville is a good defensive team.
We'll see overall how that looks. But it's going to be great to be home and after such a long road trip where you're playing road game, road game, road game, being back in front of your home fans, Marcus is certainly going to be big for this team.
Yeah, especially after coming home on this win. Right, it's like, okay, we're back, right, everyone feels that way, The fans are going to feel that way, and it's not going to be Oh, I hope we start off well, right, Yeah, but that was the key to today. They had a great first five minutes, right.
And they shut them. They shut you know they did to Dallas.
What I think the plan was in San Diego, which was just in that first fifteen knowing you might have to absorber a little bit of pressure on the road, but just be disciplined in your positioning and make sure they don't get anything early. And we defensively did a great job.
Yeah, and then no more short corners.
I'm with that.
Yeah, with hey quickly we have live standings here. We moved up a few spots eleventh place. Right now we're only one point back of LAFC, who hold the final playoff spot right now, they have ten points. There's a lot of games currently going on, so a lot of MLS action.
