After an extended road stretch that saw your Seattle Sounders go one to one and one down in Houston, Los Angeles and Portland, the Raight Green have finally returned home and begin another pack stretch of three matches in nine days. This time all these games are at home and it starts this afternoon against FC Dallas. We welcome you into
the prematch show. It's Crunch with the Sounders here on the pre match show presented by Providence Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC, Jackson Feltz Calen Roadpeat viewing here for the next half hour. As the sun is shining down on Lumenfield today, it is a perfect day for soccer just about seventy degrees sun shining here as we get ready for some soccer between the Sounders and
FC Dallas. You know, guys, let's let's start off by looking back, as we always do, but look back at kind.
Of the entire week.
That was eight days, three road matches, and you know, I think overall, Callen Pete, you know, say four matches for sorry, four points out of a possible nine, three road matches against a couple of good teams LA Portland involved there. You know, I think a lot of Sounder fans would probably take four points in those, specifically road matches.
How did you view that entire week, Kellen?
Is a tough stretch in general, right, you go down and do really well against Houston. You you kind of sit on your sit on your hands a little bit in LA, and then the big one, the big, the big game there in Portland against your rival. I think people if it was other three game games away on the road, you'd be happy with four points. But for me it was the disappointing piece of Portland. That one was the one that was diappointing for me because I
thought we played fairly well, but there wasn't enough. There wasn't enough rivalry energy, right. There wasn't There wasn't someone going to crush someone. There wasn't someone you know, making sure you're pointing down as you just tackled, hopefully fairly or fairly fairly.
There was just there was not that rivalry energy.
And I want to see that again, and hopefully they can bring it back when they're doing these home games now three stretches at home, they could bring that energy again.
I like your points. I love that we started a three to one win at Houston that gave us some breathing room. The LA game, we put out a lineup that just wasn't ready, and LA was sharp to go up to go down for nothing on that one was tough. But I'm with Kellen on the Portland game. I think we could have got the win. I thought we created the better chances. Neither goalkeeper made any exceptional saves. We had more shots on goal, but most were right at him.
You know, the one guy that I thought did great in that game was Paul Rothrock. When he came off the bench. He had the rivalry bite in my opinion, but you're right it was lacking in other areas. So that Portland game, you'll take the point. You'll take the point, but it would have been so fantastic. We're sitting in the booth today saying we got six points out of that deal, and you know, out of three road games.
But the Portland game, to me, and I think for Brian as well, I think they just needed one play to be made to put that one away, and we had a couple of chances we just didn't do it.
Yeah, that Champ big chance late where you see Pedro coming to right up in the middle.
He has Paul on one.
Side, he has Albert Rusnik on the other, and it just doesn't play the right ball. And there's a couple others like that. But I think we are correct in saying that there were opportunities for the Sounders absolutely to come away with a winning that game. But hopefully it just drives them to getting the result today here against
that f CE Dallas. There are a couple kind of pieces of breaking news, to be honest with you, some dues that kind of started to come out yesterday that we will continue here and give you the update today. So before we give you the starting lineup, let's quickly dive into the Providence Swedish team health reports. Danny Mazoski is the player we're talking about here. So he picked up a knock in training this week. Yesterday he had a cortizone injection, or it is to say Thursday he
had a courtzone injection. It is a muscle injury. He did a pregame fitness test to see if he could rock today and the result no go, No Danny Mazowski today for the Seattle Sounders. Also we know Jackson Reagan is not on the bench is to kind of help him prepare for the Wednesday Sunday games next week. Starts with San Diego on Wednesday and then Sunday against Minnesota. But he's getting better, He's close, good week of training obviously,
lots of competition at center backs. So no Jackson Reagan today. We also know Jordan Morris reinjured his hamstring a few weeks ago, out another few weeks or so, getting closer. Hopefully we see him for the Club World Cup. And as you all know, Paul Ariola out with the ACL injury. With that all said, the question who starts at striker today?
What happens with the attack? Pete viewing. What is Brian Schmetzer doing with his Delta starting eleven?
Coach Smetzer puts out a four to two three one. Your captain Stephen Fry in goal. Alex Roldan is your right back. Knew who your left back? Gomez, Androtti, kim Key. Here are your center backs in the middle of the park, obd Vargas, Christian rolled On on the right, Pedro de la Vega on the left, Ryan Kent underneath the striker Albert Rusnik. And then your front runner today, which is perfect. He's playing against his old team.
Hey sus Ferrero, Hey sus Ferreira gets the spot of Danny Musosity.
They will talk about bat in a minute.
Quickly on the bench, Andrew Thomas, Jonathan Bell, Kalani Coza, Rienzi Read Baker, Whiting, Danny Leva.
Jul Paulo, Paul Rothrock, Georgia Manongu and Osase Da Rosario Callen. What is Dallas putting out here today?
Dallas going with a four to four to diamond, A little bit different than what they're used to. You have Pais in goal. You have the bubakr or hogod Eyed, you have Idiaga, the veteran rack there and then far Fan to get that back line.
Kum fufa manana.
You have Benetti, you have Julio, you have Martin's Delgado and up top you have Farrington.
We'll talk a little more about Dallas later on, but there's a couple very very important names for Dallas who are missing from that lineup. We'll tell you all about who Dallas does not have today and is not starting today because it is a quite extensive list considering what they're going through. All right, let's come back and talk about Seattle. Kellen Hesus Ferra at the nine. We've seen
him a couple of times before. It hasn't been great, But I would contend, and I said this to Brian yesterday, you haven't been in as good a run of form as you are now over all the last kind of five games as we're with Hayesu's previously and then seconds, I think you haven't had this good of a midfield underneath Hayesus as you do today.
Could that Kellen produce a much better performance out of Ferrara at the nine today?
But I don't think he's gonna play this kind of nine that we're used to seeing with Jordan Morris. We're used to seeing with Danny Massofski, who's gonna be kind of the guy sitting in between the center backs, holding the ball up and looking in to get behind Hazus.
Ferra wants to link up.
He's almost that, as we call it now, the false nine, where he's gonna drop in as that midfield or almost like a ten and play next to Albert rusnat He'll be the connector.
So my whole thing is can dala.
Vega make the runs forward? Can Ryan Kent' make the runs forward at times? Can Can Albert Rusnak make the runs forward to get behind that back line and stretch on him a little bit? But you said it, the midfield is a little bit better than what Hazesus has played with, and this feels like a complete midfield and that you know six that are in that middle, the y wing area.
It's going to be beautiful.
It's interesting talking about how how Ferrea will play because I think there's an idea, but there's a difference between the reality of what will do and then the expectation of what he needs to do. Because Spenser said yesterday, you know, in our meeting with him, we need Jesus Frera to stay up and stretch the field, but we know that isn't his best position.
Pete and I think there's a realistic.
Thought for what Kellen's saying of He just will want to get involved and he'll come back into that spot. So it really is gonna be a question of which Jesus Ferrera shows up today, the one Brian wants or the one that's better for Hayesus.
Well, he's kind of got to pay attention a little bit to what's been working, because you look at what Danny Asovsky's done, right, those five goals in five games all came because he got to that near post. He was disciplined, he stayed with him really the width of the six yard box, not just the eight team, and he got to the near post. That opened things up for Albert Rusnik to trail. We have seventeen assists from why,
we have five goals from why. So we got to have somebody creating a run in getting in front of the goalkeeper, opening up a pocket behind him for Albert to come through. So he's you're right, Jackson, You're correct. Is hey, who's gonna do what he wants to do or is he gonna do what coach Schmetzer wants to do.
But he's a hard enough player to know what the team needs.
Right.
If the team needs him to link, he's gonna link. But if the team needs him to stay higher, he is smart enough.
I like to think that he is smart enough because I love the way he plays. I think his brain works faster than his legs, which for me calls out for a great player. That's a smart player, and I think he understands when the team needs him to stay higher.
He's also looking for his first goal, correct, and it would be perfect to get it against his former club. Yeah, right, so that's that's important as well. But I'm hopeful. I mean, I think the message has been sent make those runs. He does want to come back, he does want to link up, and that's fine. But when we were in the attacking third in those as you like to say, the prime assists sons. Yeah, get to that near post.
You mentioned messages, sending messages, receiving messages. So a few weeks ago, I mean referenced this a couple of times on the pre match show over the last couple of weeks. Is a couple of weeks ago, Brian Speccher was talking about Colonie Cozerienzi in the Battle against Alex Roldan, and this was coming during Alex Horoldan being out with an injury, and he said, there's not that much difference right now
between Klanie and Alex. He's pushing him and he's having good performances, even last week the LAFC game, which the Battle of Botomy from But you know, if there's one thing I remember from that, it is Kilanie having a good game and and Callan.
It's interesting where I think the message was sent, you know, in that press conference if.
They're close, and Alex has kind of come back and had a couple really good performances since he's come back.
You know, for me, it's it's almost like there's one big difference, and the big difference is the experience and the trust right from Brian Smetzer. And so it's one of those things that hey, you're not gonna knock the leader, the king off the part. Get you gotta beat him. You can't tie him, right.
We talk about this on the playground kind of stuff.
If Alex gets beat out fair enough, but you cannot play the same as Alex you cannot play just underneath. You have to continuously play really really well and make sure that Alex has to be on the bench. And I don't think Kilanie's done that just yet. He's had some incredible performances. But when you put Alex in and he has these good performances again, that trust level, that
experience kind of shines a little. And it shines obviously with Alex, but also the players around him, right, the players around him have that trust as well, and so he getting out of tight spots, making sure he can go one on one against very good wingers. There's little things that you just find it and it's almost like calming to other players.
I agree with that, that's what it is. For me. It's the familiarity with everybody on the field, right from Romsofski making those runs in behind that that Alex will hit him, to the combination play in tight spaces all around the field, defensive third, middle third, attacking third. So for me, it's not as close as it is with Brian, But I love Colony, his energy and his confidence and maybe it's his naiveteam that he doesn't know that you know,
he's on the verge of you know, how bushing is. Yeah, he's on the verge of greatness.
And what I love is that you know, Spencer's been willing to let Alex have arrest. This is something we haven't had put four years, three four years, giving Alex a chance to sit down and say, hey, you've done really great for uslast four years.
Take a break.
And it's not like we're skipping a beat here. So it's a great thing looking forward to, you know, the Sounders future.
Kalani has that.
One thing is it is working. As he said to you yesterday, Jackson, Yeah, Alex has gotten a lot better.
He's got the message.
He got a message delivered, message receipt.
Yeah, yes, my salon's on do not to serve, so I didn't get any messages.
Yeah.

Now back to Seattle Sounders Suckers on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJR FM.
Welcome back to a beautiful looming field today. Just the eastern side of the stadium, in the stands, the rest is just absolutely blasted by the sun.
Seventy degrees perfect weather.
He or for so like maybe a little bit warm on the field, probably a little bit warm on the field on that turf.
Brench with the sounders. Man, I'm not I'm disappointed. I give you most of this. This button might actually go one more now.
It look like right now for those who can't see this because obviously we're on radio. So calling Row looks like he just came off of a boat. You know, you never yacht alone. Calling Roll looks like he was just on a yacht. His white pants, boat shoes. Oh yeah, you'll you look like top though. I'm going like a green top, you know. But the sun comes out and a little bit of a little bit of like an Italian lake Como vibe comes out of me.
You know, you just came off away.
I need a good glass of wine in my hand right now in the sunshine, not to not to reground you.
But you're from Federal Way.
I know, I know, I know.
Coach I keep trying not to go back, you know, that's the whole thing. I'm finding my way back.
Welcome into the pre match show Sounders FC Dallas today from a beautiful loomenfield where Calen Road just came off with the sound which we're calling Lake. Come on today, all right, let's get into the FC Dallas. This FC Dallas team is an interesting one. They're kind of trying to figure themselves out. They had a solid start to the season. They of course lost to the Sounders down at home in Dallas one nothing back in April twelfth.
They followed that up with a couple of really good results, draw out a good Minnesota team, and then they beat Miami in Miami, who were obviously.
One of the best teams in this league.
But after that, it's a five nothing loss to San Diego, a draw to RSL, a two nothing loss at home to a Houston team last weekend. But then it's this stretch, guys, nine days between nine days of flights, I should say, between this last Tuesday and this coming Wednesday. So this last Wednesday, the last Tuesday, they flew to New York to play an Open Cup game on Wednesday that went one hundred and twenty minutes plus penalty kicks they lost in the Open Cup in New York and penalty kicks,
So that was Wednesday. Then they flew back from New York yesterday. They fly to Seattle, of course, and then we'll play this game. They'll fly home back to Dallas tonight, and then this next week coming up on Wednesday, they'll fly on Tuesday to Cincinnati and come back from Cincinnati on Wednesday night. That's nine days, nine days, six flights, and over eight thousand miles traveled. Nine days, six flights, eight thousand miles.
I mean in Europe they're probably seeing and.
Hearing that number and saying that's not real, that never ever should ever happen in a sport like soccer.
Callen the travel that Dallas is going through.
And that's not even counting the players even available for them today.
Where they're missing.
They're probably two best players Musa who's on the bench, just went one hundred and twenty minutes or ninety.
Minutes, I should say, in their Open Cup game.
They're missing a Costa, Luciano Acosta, former MVP, who's on a yellow card accumulation suspension. They're missing a couple of their best players. They're traveling an insane amount of miles. Dallas is under it right now. They are playing behind every eight ball imaginable they are.
We talk about the travel and we speak to the European terms.
And all these guys don't travel that much.
They're making an excuse me when you laid out like that, the consistency of travel, the distance they have to travel, the amount of games they're playing, and then you add in the different cups of the Open Cup where they're playing one hundred and twenty minutes right not just the ninety minutes, and then getting on a plane and having to do it again.
And now they're here in Seattle.
Thankfully it's a sunny day for them, so they can kind of get a little bit of relaxation. But if I'm the Sounders, I'm thinking, Okay, these guys have been traveling, they have been playing, they're tired, their legs are done, they're missing some of their best players, they're on the bench, whatever it may be.
Let's get this game and kill it off in the first fifteen to twenty minutes.
Because if you can get up a goal or two and you find a way to put this team where their heads just go straight down because they're like, I'm tired. It's worth the fight again to come down from a one zero, two zero deficit.
I'm with you. You know, they did a big rebuild. We got two of their guys, Paul Oriole and Asus Ferrara. They sent Nikozy Tafari to La so they had a rebuild. They got the bump from the rebuild that you sometimes see when there's a coaching change, and now they're facing reality and that is there's some big question marks for this team. Bottom line, they'll start eleven. Another bottom line is it's a gorgeous day to play. They're used to a warmer climate that suits them. They got Julio up
front who can score goals. Harrington's quality as well, so they're putting eleven out on the field. See, I'm with you, Keillen. Let's get after them right from the beginning. Let's make our wingers really get their crosses and and get high up the field. Let's get numbers in the box. But let's try to put this one away in the first twenty five minutes.
And Martin Paus their goalkeeper is a good goalkeeper. Yeah, offensively they're gonna have tired legs everywhere on the field.
They're gonna have tired legs. You mentioned Anderson Julio tied.
For the team lead with three goals Leo two. By the way, of course, part of that haesus.
For error trade. He's been injured with the knee injury.
For the last little bit he's out. So it's a team in Dallas right now. They're a little hurt.
Paxton palmancall also not playing.
Uh, they're a little bit hurts, they're a little bit suspended with a costa, they're a little bit a lot tired, and they're in the middle of this massive trip.
Uh yet.
But for Eric eric Quill, they're head coach who is joined then last November after a year with New Mexico United, former lead was assistant coach with Columbus Crew Good coach Brian which Schmester was telling us he can use this as saying, we're the underducks.
Nobody, you know, nobody thinks we have a shot in this game where this where that we're traveling, we're tired.
Uh maybe he used that as as motivation, but uh, they're gonna need every single gram of that everything ounce of that today to have I think because Seattle is I think as you both talked about gonna get on them early indeed, uh anything else.
Yeah, I mean, look, you talk about the under dog and all that, you could kill it right away instantly, right.
You can absolutely kill it right away.
And I'm looking at Ovid Vargas and I'm looking at Christian Goldon. If you can make sure that Dallas isn't winning any second balls and it's tough to get out of their own end, and they're making sure that they can kind of set the tone, that's where it's gonna kill them up. Obviously, goals help a lot, but if you can make sure that they're not getting any fun, that's where you go.
All Right, we'll get a break here on the premat show, we'll come back with our players to watch.
We'll also hear from Heyesus Ferra with Michelle Lucka just a few minutes ago. That's next on the premat show, Counting You Down to kickoff to Sounders in Dallas right here on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.

Now back to Selo Sounder Sucker on Sports Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.
Welcome back to Luminfield where the sun is shining and getting ready for a beautiful day of soccer Sounders versus FC Dallas day.
Here at Bloomin Field.
Before we hear from Jesus Ferrah, we'll get to our players to watch here. My player to watch is Stephen Fry, because Stephan Fry is going to be honored here coming up in just about ten minutes. He's gonna be honored from making his one hundred career appearance for Sounders FC across all competitions. He made that back on May third against Saint Louis. There's gonna be a ceremony coming up in a few minutes. I can't wait to see that. For Stephen fry Kellen, who are.
You going with?
I'm going Ryan Kent, Look Dallas on that outside back. You have a Bouba car who's normally a center back. I want to see Ryan can't go after him as much as possible.
When I was.
Playing that, when I was young and actually playing up top, I wanted to make sure I went after center backs because if they were a little slower to meet, which Ryan Ken obviously has the pace and the skill, you could find a way to beat them one b one And then can you find that final pass which we know he has that quality?
And you've got a few tap ins for Hazes Ferrera.
I like the dynamic wingers we have for me at hey sus Ferira because he's playing against his team. He was quoted with Jade Evans in the paper today saying, hey, I gotta score a goal, and so he feels a little pressure in that regard, so it kind of teas up for him. And then, and to your point earlier, Jackson, what's he gonna do? Is he gonna be the guy who gets down to that near post, gets through the box or is he gonna beat a little too far
away from the goals. So it's gonna be an exciting day for him because again it's his former team and he's and let's hope he gets his first goal today.
Well, a few minutes ago, Haysis for a caught up with our on Michelle Luckin, who will be on the sideline today.
Here's how that conversation went.
Hasu's back in Seattle after a three match road test. You guys are only one of two teams in Major League Soccer right now that are undefeated at home. What has been going so well here at Luminfield this season?
Yeah, I think it starts with our fans.
I think we are one of the best fan base that we have, and we can fill it on the field.
I think any team that comes out here feels their their energy, feels their chance, feels their presence, and I think that we play with a man up and so I know that the team, the guys are very focused on making sure that the fans have a good day because I've always said it, you know, you never know what they're going through for them to you know, come out here and enjoy their day and so we try to do our best to make that happen for them.
And so I think that's the biggest thing is this our fan base. Our fan base is huge.
In every game, no matter who we're against, our stands are full.
You guys are already able to get the win against Dallas already once this season, going forward again today and you've got a little bit more on your side.
Obviously, you guys have been on a road trip too. They had a.
Little bit more vigorous of a road trip this last week across the country, longer matches midweek.
How can you guys exploit that today?
I think it's coming out with energy. I think the guys know that we are home and we are able. We have the legs, we have the depth and our squad to make subs if needed.
But we're coming out with energy. We're coming out to win the game.
And so for many one, we have to show them that we have the legs, we were well rested, and we're gonna put them under pressure.
That's hey, sus Fir with Michelle like just a few minutes ago before he starts at the four spot today, Sounder fans down on McDonald's dep today and when the Sounders went. You'll win a free mik Chick in the following day with minimum three dollars.
Purchase exclusively in the app. Yeah, one more break on the pre match show.
We'll come back with our keys to the match and the Sounders overall record against FC Dallas and we will celebrate Rye here at Limanfield.
That's next on Sports.

Five minutes away from kick here Emerald Green Casino Bitch at lumin Field From Sounders and Dallas, Today's countdown and a kickoff has been presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the entertainment.
Capital of the Northwest.
Over All, these two teams the series, Seattle leads it twenty two, eleven and thirteen. They've also met forty six times in the regular season in playoffs, making.
Them the most played opponent.
In MLS play with the La Galaxy also at forty six long history with FC Dallas, the Sounders have. Let's get into our keys to the match for this beautiful sunny.
Day here today at Luminfield. Kellen, what are your keys?
The coach talks about it earlier. Look, the wingers need to make sure that they're going down this line. I want Ryan Kent going out of Bubacar. I want pay to Jaya Bail to be either tucking in or finding a way pass. Get to that indline and find Jesus Forer or aber rusnak as they can come in late into the box. But the early fifteen to twenty minutes, you gotta play as hard as you can, let this Dallas tire. Dallas team know that they're in for.
A long one.
Yeah, we got a great back five with Stephan Fry and the four in front of them. They gotta make sure restarts they're very sharp. You can't give Dallas a goal today because they will park the bus with six and four right and not do anything. So you gotta you gotta put them away. And you know Christian Muldon lately has been hitting that long diagonal ball that I loved from Ozzie, So change that point of attack to spring those wingers and try to expose Dallas. I'm with you, Kelln.
The wing plays very important, restarts very important, and then go have fun. Make it a joyous game for Seattle. Right, what a great day for soccer. Perfect, What a great day for Seattle soccer.
Well, this two teams met just a month and a half ago down in Dallas, a one nothing Sounders win. That goal scored by Danny Mazoski, where he started his five goal in five games.
Stretch.
We'll see what happens Tonight's Dallas missing two of their best players.
And Musa who's on the bench, and Nacasa.
They're in the middle of a trip that we'll see them fly eighty one hundred miles over the course of nine days and six flights. By the way, right here at Luminfield before we break for the national anthem, Stephen Frye being honored as Adrian Hanauer is right now at midfield, handing over a framed jersey that says fry four hundred because Stephan fry back on May third against Saint Louis, made his four hundred career appearance for Sounders FC across all competitions.
What a career Stephan fry has had.
I mean, we talk about four hundred, right, you think, oh, that's a lot of games. There are many people in their careers that don't even hit two hundred games total.
He's doubled that for Seattle alone.
I mean, it's incredible that he could do this for as long as he could do and for as quality as he has been.
Well, we've had so many great goalkeepers here. He is definitely right at the top. Is the captain. He deserves it.
Stephan Frye.
Hopefully we see a clean sheet, we'll hand things off to Danny Jackson, who will have the call for Sounders FC Dallas kicks off next on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.

Good early afternoon from EQC pitch here a Luhmann Field where your Sounders face Western Conference rivals FC Dallas. Dallas are in the midst of a tough three game road trip that carries them from east coast to West coast and back, flying eighty one hundred miles in just nine days, and they enter Luman Field today without talisman and captain Luciano Acosta. Dallas have won just once in Seattle and they will need to dig deep to come away with any type of result.
For Your Sounders, they finish their own three game.
Road trip with a one to one drawer at art rival Portland Timbers last Saturday, and they can now enjoy a three game home games in a week and ten of their next twelve games being here at lumen Field. Unbeaten in twelve games at home and having lost just twice here since twenty twenty three, the Sounders have the opportunity to pick up some positive results over the next
six weeks, and it starts with three points today. I'm Danny Jackson alongside our all star cast this afternoon former Sounders winger Steve zach Varni here in the booth, and then Michelle Luka down on the sidelines. Before we get to Michelle and Steve their initial thoughts, let's get you
the delta starting eleven for your Sounders. Strong line up for Brian Schmetzer today, Stephen Fryan gol about four rolled on Yeamark, Kinky Heat and Knew Whom Christian alongside Obed Middle of the park Pedro De La Vega on the right, Albert Rusnak goal scorer last week against Portland in the ten, Ryan Kent on that left hand side, and then Jesus.
Ferrera, playing against his old club, will play up top for Dallas.
Parsan goal about four of abubakr Gohaga, Day, Ibiaga and Farfan, midfield three of Julio Rimiro and Show and an attacking trio of Padrino Farrington.
And del Gardo.
So Sounders in their anniversary kit, green shirts, blue shorts, white socks. They're attacking the south end, which is their typical end to attack in the.
Second half that we're doing it here this first half. They've got the kick with Albert Ruznak and here we go.
Flames are up behind the goals, bald back to Kinky here as he launches it for it's gonna bounce through.
Cleared up by Ibi Yaga.
A little bit of early pressure from Sounders deep on this near side the left with far From picks up well by de la Vega and just picks up a foul. So Steve initial thoughts, Sounders got a good run of home games.
Getting three points today is vital.
Yeah, I think you've got to take advantage of that.
You know, in the league in the West, where it's so tight in the table, winning your whole games becomes that much more important.
You have this one.
And of course San Diego also in midweek, coming off a decent road stretch. I think if you can stack the home wins, that's how you'll separate yourself in that Western Conference this season.
So it starts today, it's a massive, massive game for the Sounders.
All goes up big Logan Farrington in Formosa today launches forward by Yemar Stalwart in the back line, hooked clear by Cake middle of the field. Delgada picks it up number six deep in his half of the field.
Good luck combination around the corner strives it.
Forward to faring technical leaned up well by ye Marta Kim kih And for the first time this afternoon, hopefully you got your sun screen on?
Is Michelle Lucky down the sidelines? Good lefternoon, Michelle.
Good afternoon.
Yes it's sunscreen today, no rain slicker, but I do have the sunscreen ready to go because it is a beautiful day here in Seattle. And pre match I had a chance to talk to Hay sus Ferra about how we.
Were starting today at noon. I'm gonna hold out that, Danny.
Okay, thanks Michelle.
Here's Ryan kaed down the left hand side, first chance for the sound Paul goes in and it's Parrara just over the top top with a six sharp box, well assisted by Ryan Ken and well assisted to me by Michelle Ludka.
We'll put it back down to you, Michelle.
Yes, Hey, sus Ferra looking for his first goal with the Sounders. Hopefully he gets it today against his former club. But I talked to him earlier because since Apple took over the MLS broadcast three seasons ago, it's been pretty standard the team's play seven thirty every Saturday night, so it's unusual that we're playing today at noon on a Saturday.
And I asked him about how that changed the routine, and he really credited the Sounder staff for really giving them so much structure to get ready for today.
And he says there's almost like a little bit of extra incentive.
To win, because if they can walk away with three points today, it would almost be as if they get an extra.
Off day to celebrate with the afternoon ahead of them.
Yeah, that's certainly take it thanks Michelle.
It comes far guess striding forward, been in scintillating form early on pulldown Referee Allen Chapman doesn't do anything about it.
No foul given. Now on Ya Mood skips in front.
Of the fresh faced Fairing. So it's gonna be a free kick for the Sounders and Steve. We'll get to the.
Free kick in a second.
But in terms of player standpoint, playing at twelve o'clock pre game and all the preparation, what does it do?
You know it changes how you prep because when you think about professional stuffer players pregame mil lots of pasta, lots of ries, lots of corbs. Doing that at eight am, different stories, So I think it changes how you prep, how you sleep, things with that nature. But in some ways it's better to get the game done early in the day and get out the way.
So I do think there are start advantage to it as well.
Here's where is that whips it in from the free kick, headed down and bounces into the hands of pass in the Dallas goal. Former FC ou Trek player in Holland signed in.
June of twenty two.
It's been a stalwart in the sticks for Dallas Sounders amount to pick the ball up, as they have done so well in the first half of so of this season.
Click here into towards June because.
I hardly believe you blink and the Sounders playing at Homer's Evention. Good run of games at home for the Sounders starts today. You add Club World Cup in and ten of the next twelve games will be at home. A couple of shorter trips for the Sounders supporting Kansas City and Vancouver. Good twitch will play by rolled on center to the far side, left overlapping run by now towards the inline.
It goes time and space clicks for in.
Cleared bite.
Dallas couldn't quite connect with a green shirt knew her, but it comes Ryan Kenny left hand side, all down down the outside giving up by their Sounders.
It comes Dallas in transition which klike gives the ball away.
Miscommunication between the two Dallas players far side Sounders have a throw, get it in quickly and.
The Sounders look really lively down the left hand side.
I think we're getting a hang off exactly how ryank Kent wants to play. It's gonna be important for you who to read those moments because rank Kent doesn't need to support every single time. But on that last attack there Knew who timed it really well, go into the final third and actually puts in a decent board into the box. I felt the Sounder should have You've got to have someone making that run and on a six shark bal if it did not have its Dallas dealt with it quite well.
It's a good start for the Sounders.
On my left hand side, I think Ken can have a field date if you could find him earlier.
Often picks up by Dallas again them Don another couple of times, a couple of.
Slightly aeron passes by the sound but they've always cleaned it up well.
Or back to Yamas del Gardo Dawas put a little bit of pressure and we'll see how much energy they have coming after one hundred and twenty minutes in New York. But here comes cake center of the park, twenty five yards from gold WIT's it out again, Eric pass second in just as many minutes for the Dallas midfield as they knock the ball out of bounds on this near side, it'll be a throw four Seattle with Alex Roldan, who has been in really good form in these last couple
of weeks. No surprise that Klanney has been in good form as well, and as Brian Schmittzer has talked about this season, the one thing the Sounders have in twenty twenty five is competition in all places and given away by rolled On, that's not what you want to do on top of the boxes Farrington for Dallas strike scuffed wide goal kick for the Sounders here in the sixth minute on a sun drenched looming field.
It sounds Neil Dallas Neil Steve's a quani.
Yeah, that was slopping down from Alex rolled On.
I really do feel in this game for the sound is I think you're much stronger to team than Essie Dallas are, and it's going to be those moments there, little giveaways, little mistakes that's really going to be what gives that is extra chances in this game. If you can cut those out, really limit your individual mistakes and get out early into the attack as the Sounders have been doing, you can make us a very long afternoon for FC Dallas.
But we'll see it too often here where you get.
A bit too comfortab Win de Fence, a bit too complacent overpassing it, you give the ball away, and when you do that, you get teams are too good. They're gonna punish you at this level. And so for the sound just be mindful and aware of that when the game gets a bit too easy and your opponent's sitting back and your kind of comfortabin possession, don't get lulled into a full time security.
All down the right hand side.
Here comes Ellaveger in the line up today on that right hand side, rips it in along the six cleared well by the Dallas back time, but only over the headline. It goes and it's gonna be a first corner kick for the Sounders. We'll see what Andy Rose has up his sleeve. Sounders have been successful in terms of winning corner kicks, almost six corner kicks per game coming into this game today.
It's just a factor of executing on them.
The chances the last couple of weeks, bad open men in around the top of the box a number of different times haven't been able to test a goalkeeper. And now goes short to Fargas, back to Rusnak on this near side the right a couple of yards from the end line.
It's going to clip it in.
It rebounds off Ramira, the Dallas central midfield player, the Brazilian back to Patrini and other Brazilian players.
He clips the ball towards.
Farrenton off the chest because Dallas come good pinged ball from this near sign to the var side to a Buba car MLS veteran playing on that right hand side.
Today given away, Sounders come away with it.
But you're right, see this is the type of opponent who are gonna be leggy going.
To the second half.
The last thing you want to do is give away a cheap goal and have them just bunker in. It'll make a very difficult afternoon for the Sounders.
Yeah, I think we'll see what we're usually used to scene here at Lumanfield. They've been some games where teams have come and they've pressed and made it up. Told to tall game, I think Dallas will pick and choose their moments. They simply don't have the legs to be able to do that, so they're going to sit back, be compact past the sound just to break them down.
The space will be out wide, so Kent de la.
Vega become very important and then of course be cleaning possession.
Or here's Ryan Kemp. Brilliant by Ryan Kent.
Strikes a good block by Dallas, just buzz past two players with ease. Sam's picking up top of the box with Alex Roldan down to de la Vega right hand side, whipped a lot of sex asking for a handball, all bounces around as.
Ferreira just off the goal line. He could not poke it in from three yards.
Can't buy a goal right now for Jesus Ferrarogates of all teams, his old team.
It's gonna be a corner kick for the Sounders they're knocking. Should have been the goal.
It would all happening down there. I thought that was the moment. I thought that was the moment for Hazus Ferrera. Great played by de la Vega. The Sounds maybe one in a penalty, It wasn't given credit to de la Vegat kept the play alive and his Ferra he's about a yard off the Goldland, had a couple of packs in and could only sell.
For a corner risen from the corner gate.
This this outswinging It goes middle of the six yard box, headed up and away by Dallas. Ball bounced around this near right corner of the box picked up by Rosnak on Rimiro just nudges him off. That's the power that Rosnack has as Ramiro just runs into the back of him. Cinecal and a selly yellow card felt soft, but it was cynical.
Ross ACKs needs to walk away.
He's asking Romero, why, what's the need the yellow card for Ramiro? And that's not a yellow card that he wants to pick up steve Za corner early in this game.
Yea, and I think Russnak should be thanking him the sound should as work's a very silly yellow card. Now he has to watch himself with a remainder of this eighty plus minutes or so, and he seems already under the pressure here and opening ten minutes, it's been all sound is really lots of play in both wade eras Dela Vega and Ryan Kent the two most dangerous players under pitch.
So far, and more signs and of all points to a sounder team.
We've come out here with a point to proof, got humbled in La, drew up two points in Portland and now trying to get back to winning ways and as we said, stacked wins and especially with his front of home games coming up.
You have a great chance to do just that.
Sound has built down this right hand side with Della ving and Dallas drop into a deep line as they build out the back.
We're gonna throw it down to Michelle.
We've talked a lot of this week about Hasius fer Era seeing his old team in Dallas return and being the first time here in Seattle that he's facing them. But another homecoming that did not happen this week is the return of Leo two two, who, of course you know, signed the Seattle back in twenty and twenty one. He was traded to Dallas in the winter of four hasties for he is dealing with a knee injury, so he did not travel.
Yeah, Leo two also had a great season a couple of seasons ago, didn't quite hit for him last year.
Spare goes in.
From rolled arm picked up well by a Bouba car top of the box cleared by Dallas. Sounds is just will hesitant to turn times, giving the ball away a little cheaply in these first ten minutes or so, when Nude does not need to do a step over in the middle of the field, now here comes Dallas in transition, overpowering in terms of numbers. The men in green us in their red shirts, navy blue, red and navy blue shirts, red navy blue shorts and socks to mention they're attacking
the goal who have left the north end. It comes Dallas with del Gardo sound Steed to clean things up a little bit and over complicate the game. And as you mentioned, Steve, sometimes it can be the your own villain at times.
Yeah, and that's the issue here.
Everything that Dallas have had so far in terms of establishing possession, it's come from sounds of mistakes. Alex rode Downe one time, knew Who twice they're do want to step off on his own halfway line when there's absolutely no needs. You've got simple five yard pass to make. Just do the simple things right, build all the right habits. And one of the things that has really bite the sound of teams over the years is just making silly
mistakes like that along the back line. So far haven't paid for it, but I'd imagine Branchmiths on his staff will be just having a word with Knew who they're just to keep it simple in all situations.
It feels like this is the time where you'd like to have that little time out. Just pull the team together, have a little word. It might be a kick up the backside, so to speak. Yeah for Brian Schmidt, so there's point knowing how he's pretty feeling right now. Dallas are there to be stamped on somewhat coming off a long road trip from New York all the way across to the Pacific Northwest. You mentioned one hundred and twenty minutes in US Open Cup play. They played a very strong
team Moosa. Their main talisman, Number nine is on the bench to playing the best part of a full game. Sounders just need to find a way to get a grip in a consistent way in this game is get here in the thirteenth minute Sounders nil, Dallas nil. Wherever you listen to us on this perfect Pacific Northwest day, thanks for joining us on Sports Radio ninety three point three kg KJR FM. If you're not able to make it out tonight, toggle on the Apple TV.
They could get our home broadcast if you want to watch the TV with.
Brilliant analysis of Steve zach Parney and insightful comments from Michelle down the sidelines as Freer gets nudged off the ball from his former teammates. Steve Brance meant to mention yesterday in some of our comments that Denny Masovski did so well because he played inside the six.
He was always there. Ball came in. I'll get you comments in a minute.
The ball goes in behind as Gamar just pulls up and it felt like he's pulling his hamstring.
Maybe yep, arm goes up.
That's not something the sound as one or skips in front of Fry and that looks like a hamstring. Steve, we'll get your comments a minute. He goes down as Yama and that's gonna change things up.
Yeah, that's not good.
You could see some You could see him pull up because Yam was normally first to that kind of ball day. He just held up, was beaten to it by the attacker, and then right.
Away his hand went up signaling.
To the bench that didn't need to change. And it's not what you wanted for a sound to seem.
That started the game quite well here, and Yem has been a fixed shot in that back line a team that's began to find the groove defensively as well. He was instrumental in that recent unbeaten run. But it looks like he's after he's going to be done here, and it didn't let the back.
Of his hamstring.
We're not sure, of course from a player, but not great for the sound. It's been attended to now by the training staff and looks like it'll be a substitution.
We talked about preparation for games and you know, hydration, it's a warm day fuel in terms of food.
Do this couldn't have something to do with that?
Listen, Athletes are creatures of happened. You like a certain routine. And Michelle made a great point where since went.
To Apple TV, you've sort of had these consistent.
Kickoff times and you know, back when I was in the league, you never knew what they you're playing or what time the game would be. It's been pretty consistent schedule for these players. We haven't seen a midday kickoff in a very long time, and it does change preparation.
But I think the name of it you can't really tell.
I think he didn't really open up all the way either, which is what was telling from me that he couldn't find his burst or his sprint.
But this is why you have a squad.
It's why you have strength and depth, and it looks like you'll be Jonathan Bell, who, to be honest, hasn't put a foot round anytime his numbers been called. He's always come in there and doesn't miss a beat.
Tough break for him.
Yeah, it's that time out we mentioned, Unfortunately, not the one that the sound has wanted.
As Yemar eventually gets to his feet, does walk off the field on his own without.
Assistance, but definitely as soon as he made that turn and sprint you could see pulled up, asked for the sub, immediately fell down and here's Jonathan Bell. It's gonna be a likeful like switch we expect kim Key, he likely to shift from that left side center back role to the right hand side. Jonathan Bell will come on and play on that left center back spot.
So with Club World Cup coming, not what you want to see for Brian.
Schmidtz Gema has been a Stowart since twenty twenty, been a rock in the middle of the park. Danny Rose mentioned just this week that he's the most consistent player on the Sounders squad. As Jamar trudges in front of the Dallas bench, Sounders have to make that tweek and change.
Good job.
It's nice and warm today, so not too much warm we needed for John from Bell Sounders. You get back in the group. See Brian Schmidtz's man issues to jolt.
The Sounders.
If it could be a little bit clean in the middle of the park, the game is there for them. Here come the Sounders with Kent trust to player one touch ball inside. He's already shown some flashes of that exciting wing player that he has. And there's another player
who's been incredible this season. There's rolled on switched the point of attack, brilliant pass this near side, far side the left is Ryan Kent, left cord of the box, who is de Vargas who just pokes it square to Christian again who skips it across to the far side off the chest of Ryan Kent with his.
Left foots clips it towards the back stick ball bounce.
In stays in this near side the right with della Vega closed down through.
The legs, pushed over. Easy call right in front of the assistant referee. And hey, Steve, we.
Give assistant We give a referee sometimes a hard time, but that's a pretty easy goal.
And that's a very obvious card to see it way up here.
And this is enough good example of the sound is main painting pressure of the cross from Kent.
He's just try again, go they.
Can't quite do so dele Vega keeps it alive. And then see that is sort of their own worst enemies right now, that's a little ticky tacky fouls and give the Sounders almost compare. It's almost like a corner kick. But it does give Albert Russmack a chance on his right hand side to whip a dangerous bought into the six sharp book lots off numbers in.
A box for both sides, five yards or so off the end line, just inside from the assistant referee standing on the sideline right hand side to be an outswinger whipped in by Albert Roznik, two arms up in the air, three steps away from the ball. Green Shirts making their
moves inside. The eighteen ball comes in good deliver in there's Ferrera again, just can't glance his header on target, but the Sounders pick it up far side, will skip by ken back in it goes to de la Vega, left corner of the box and now it's far gets still three Green shirts in the box.
Ball whipped in. It's a good balls and this stick Pas reads it. No run to that near post. There's gonna be the Dallas goalkeeper who just pulls himself up. He's gonna give his team a breather.
Sounders are dominating right now, just about sixty three percent possession for the Sounders. Already five shots for the Sounders, three shots of those on target.
The Dallas have been good in transition.
Picked off a couple of balls and here they come now that right hand side, thirty yards from goal with Farrington just skips it inside to Kaik who clips towards this near side to Anderson. Julia strikes it. It's going to be high and wide. Can hear the crowd. We'll appreciate that the broad shoulders of Julio are having a word of done on Chapman.
I'm gonna be asking for a corner kick. It's gonna be a goalkick remains noil.
No, yeah, And I think that's what Dallas will have for the most part. It will be those transition opportunities they gain. Settled into the pattern, we expect the Sounders are going to dominate possession. It's gonna be a question of how soon can you meet a possession? Tell five shots already towards the bold.
Haven't broken through.
As long as anything is nil nil in it's league, both teams have a chance. With a team like Dallas, who you're gonna be put under a ton of pressure.
It comes Ferrara inside the box, guarded by three Dallas players, tries to overdo it, back heels his point work out for him. It's sort of a little run of de la Vega.
Couldn't make connection.
Ball hooked player launched forward point Dallas picked up middle of park by dell Gard and they kike.
Big strong player in the.
Middle of the park and then as rolled on as you mentioned, in middle of the park, sitting in front of that back four all Dan's playing the perfect number six role, just plays it into Ferrara ball in behind is gonna roll through and as Pause comes out of his six job box to pick it up, we're gonna throw it down to Michelle.
Thank you, Danny.
We've been talking all season about the depth on this team, and obviously we've seen it being put to the test of who gets to start a lot of times based on injuries or substitutions based on injuries like we just saw with Jonathan Bell coming in for a gamer.
But in a lot of cases where players are healthy, you think it just comes down to skill.
Set of who's playing better at that time, of who's getting to start. But I really think it's Steve, based on a point that you made on the podcast earlier this week, a lot of times it comes down to cohesion and how much chemistry you have with the other players on the field. What do you think specifically plays into that with the wingers and how they need to really factor in with their relationship of the defense of who's getting the start.
Yeah, that's a great question, Michelle.
I think you know, in the soundless case on the left hand side, we knew who, and Ryan Kent knew who.
Has to know that.
Ryan Kent probably doesn't need as much support as a rough rock my news for example, where Ryan Kent wants to go one D one and anytime I knew who comes forward, he's dragging extra defense into that space. So maybe instead of five, six, seven times you overlap, you do it once or twice. You know, when I played it was either Leo Gonzalez, Tyson Ward or Za Scott behind me. Leo like to overlap Tyson and Zach Scott. Zach Scott especially did not run across the half wayland.
You would tell me I'm gonna stay. Oh you working that half, are working this half, and I love that of course. So I think it's up to you who so read Frank Kent. If he needs help, you go Why if he saw good one view one? Why drag extra players into space?
Sound has putting some high press now off the gold kicks picked up by far Found on his left hand side. It clips it into the middle of the park, given away by far Found. Good law turn dropping the shoulder by Vargas to this right hand side inside the boxes. Della Vega cuts it back strike, deflecting a wide It was a rough snack. It's gonna be a gold kick.
Then came off a green shirt. Good play by the sounds, good quick play, insightsive on that right hand side, it found o snack wide open inside the eighteen struck getting deflected.
It's gonna be a goalkick remains nil nil.
I think they deflects off Ryan Kent actually, but it's a good play.
By the sounders again.
They la Vega has been lively here early.
On, looking really good, gets it on the right hand side. Excellent cutback finds Roussnach. I mean that's the player you want to find sort of on that penalty spot area. Strikes it well enough.
Maybe his only issue is he didn't put it into the corner enough.
There's lots of body centrally hits Ryan Kent, but here come the sounders again.
It comes Kent towards the end line. Was fakes himself out there trying to cut it as Rububakar went to ground mate the move. Just couldn't keep his feet or picked up good step by Kim in the middle of the field. That's an area that center backs don't want to find themselves in. Is just stranded in the middle of the park, but gets a good foot wins the ball. Dallas habit top of their box with Ramiro and then flick for by k good little flick inside by Padrino.
Good player can by rolled on, just takes the ball off the toe of Rimiro.
Just sharper faster.
Is rolled on and six assists on his campaign so far for Christian rolled On really stepping up. I asked Brian Schwetzer Steve about Christian and just a partnership between Bargas. Vargas has more license to go.
He's enjoying it.
I talked to oh Bet this week as well, but Ryan said, just the range of passing that rolled On has found this year, there's been really something that the coaches have to be extremely pleased with it.
Yeah, and I think it's always a great sound when you have a player like that who's accomplished so much, already one of the first names on a team sheet, but he's still finding ways to improve his game, which he has.
Five fan just held up for a second there. Lavega almost nipped in, just won the ball, maybe.
In in a year or two, and it's got to be more experiencing. Maybe falls over. There was a clash of legs. It felt like he almost got enough connection to go down.
But Pas in the Dallas goal, has it in his hands, is giving his team a bit of a breather for air, asking for time.
Somebody just slice it up in the middle of the park, knew who comes in.
We'll bouncing around, good little cushion header for newho.
And then flick over the top of the play by new Nois and clean.
Well sound As FC Soccer is presented by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. First half here flying by twenty fourth minute nil nil between Sounders and FC Dallas. Don't leave us at halftime, Jackson Pete Callen. We'll be back to break it all down as they will at the end of the game as well. Hopefully Well Sounders can find a way to break through here in this first half. He's rolled down places in side, picked up
by kim Ki heek or combination triangle. Then from Christian to his brother Alex. He's gonna skip it to the far side to Ryan Kent.
Good ball.
Can he bring it down brilliantly? He does, can't quite get there, goes over the headline. It's gonna be a goal kick for Dallas on this perfect Pacific Northwest afternoon on Memorial Day weekend. And we'll just take a moment to thank all the servicemen who serve and protect this great nation all across the world and for those who have done it in years past.
The lines that we live is all down to.
The sacrifice made of this generation and generations. Before the Sounders knock it down the line with Ferrera who plays it back sharp to pass, but he could clip it with his left foot down this near side picked up
by Alex Roldan. Now Vargas vanst this news. He's gonna have some time and space on the right foot, plays ball down the left hand side towards the end line is Ryan Kent cuts it back to his right foot to Vargas inside the box, tries to drop his shoulder back to new back to Ryan Kent on side on the left hand side, or miscommunication Ryan expects a lot run by Vargas didn't come.
Yeah, it's overplayed.
I thought knew who's passed to Ryan Kent was perfect, well waited, he's well going. First time you swing that first time, he doesn't really give the defender a chance to get set. They're run in towards their own bolt. Your shriker is an attacking players a right on the top of them. Anything can happen, and deflection for an on board. Once you recycle it two three times, it just gives that back line a chance to be set. But then it's very hard to break anybody down there.
So I do think when you get behind, if you're Ryan Kent there and you have a chance to swing it first.
Time you do so.
But on both weeks the Sounds.
Doing really, really well.
And the only negative right now is that to have time the.
Way through Alex roll Down wins the thrown for the Sounders. Yep, the Sounders need to find that way. It was a ten minutes of flurrid attack in front of PAS's goal.
But here can they come again? Can they find the breakthrough before they go back in.
The locker room with Ryan Kemp with the right foot whips it in more, bounce it around off the chest a far fan and then hook clear by his right foot towards the halfway li Jonathan Bell just misplays it, gives it up and here come Dallas with Julio now Cross comes rolled on. He tries a little bit too much and platters into Bell. Alan Chapman should give the foul he does. Brian Schmetz up on his feet just where he right now.
Jonathan Bell, don't run into by Anderson.
Julio came inside and the last thing the Sounders need is another central defender to go down. Who's just telling the medical staff not to come on. Remember the new rules from the MLS that came into effect last year was if it's not a concussion or a yellow card, if medical staff have to come on, the player will have to go off the field for two minutes. So players have an impetus to get back on their feet. Jonathan Bell, he's gonna have to shake that one off as he hobbles.
Forward outside the eighteen yard box. It's gonna be a free kick for the Sounders here in the twenty eighth minute.
Neil Neil Sounders FC, Dallas Sports Radio ninety three point three k FM. If you're not here, hopefully you're listening somewhere, join this perfect sun packed house tonight really well, this afternoon, I should say, on their feet in the lower ball as normal. He stands appreciating the shadows that they sit in. It's nearside, this west side, the weast, standing and call these games made in sunlight on the lower ball.
And Stephen Fry was acknowledged right before kickoff.
Steve four hundred appearances he made just a couple of weeks ago for the sound as five hundred appearances in his MLS career previously of course with Toronto.
Let me speak to the service that he's.
Given to this club over the years and just a consistent player this year and the years past.
Yeah, I mean I've had a front row seat to Steph's career. You know, we came in the same draft class, so not about it for a long time. Was highly talented coming up college. But I don't think even him in his wildest dreams would have pictured a career like this. He's come to Seattle another a great legacy of really good goalkeepers here, and he's taken it to another level.
He's been fantastic for so many years as still as good as ever.
As Ryan can't step over again, he gets it outside for this time headed clear by Dallas referees in the way.
Nothing cool on that slight obstruction. Dallas gonna work it through.
As they continue to build a little bit of confidence in this game, Sounders step forward, Jonathan Bell get caught out again and then on the far side of the Dallas right it's Ramiro couldn't point keep it in, It's Farrington couldn't point keep it in and the sound has thrown in quickly get going here as we get into fifteen minutes ago in this first half, to tick towards the thirty minute mark, sound has got four points on their travels over that week of three away games Houston
where they won LAFC.
Well we'll forget that one. And then of course last week it's Portland.
Driven ball by Christian Wall got done this near side to the far side the left, whipped in by New, headed up and away by a buber Car, and then fold up by Ramira up in the area, goes challenged by Sounders and Dallas players.
Sounders pick it up on top of the box.
Larran kent to New far side the left left channel New little stepover tries to go through the legs.
Maybe not the right place to do that, better there than in their own half of the fields.
The ball gets clipped forward dangerous ball boy Dallas, but cleaned up as two thousand players clash into each other force the feet of de la Vega goes in put clear slice by a buber Car, headed up and away by far Fat, Buglio and Della Vega to South. Americans clash on this near side of the left near the corner flag.
It goes It's Ferrera wins it. It comes to la Vega.
Can he do?
He does?
He wins the ball top of the box. It goes to Rusnak sixth goal scored last week. It comes Ken Now overlapping run by Rosnak and it goes a little held short blocked by a Bouber.
Car was to cross from Brosnick. The Sounders retrieved with Ken we'll Kiven go and then just giving up head goes to the sky for Ryan Kent.
I'm quite connecting so far from the Sounders and attacking third, but they've got all the pressure here sixty two in this first half. Now it's rosnik now'n the left hand side side the box to Ryan. Kenny goes, He turns and a chance maybe it's right foot comes back to his right. Let's tell a vega top of the box striker is right for a plot combination of two Dallas players and it rolls out this near side.
For a throw.
You gotta keep going.
I think the panel the game is clear.
FC Dallas are gonna get numbers behind the ball, lots of bodies between the man and the bowl.
Anytime the sound is attack, and if you're the sound is one thing you can't.
You can kind of hear the frushtration creeping in.
You have to stay patient because all it takes is one Once that first ball goes in no matter when it goes in teams like Dallas, the way they're built to defender, they normally open up even more. But you have to be patient and no from speaking for Branch Spenser, it isn't these are the games you get nervous about the longest nil nil. You're doing everything right, but scoring
you just starts get a little bit nervous. So if you have to rely on the Stephan Fries, the Christian road Dons, Albert Rusnat, the experienced guys to just stay patient, stay poised, knowing that at any moment you can score and get a three points.
All cleared by Dallas.
Gold kick headed down by far fan, picked up the middle of part by Vargas. Look slip board with the outside his foot. Now it's Della Vego's clips it to the far side. From this near side it's Vargas who does pick it up. Willing runner as ever as obed bundled over by a Buba.
Car seemed an obvious fowl.
Buber cars are going at Vargas nol chatter not so far away, doesn't give the foul.
It's going to be a goldkick for FC Dallas.
Well this copyrighted audio cast of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer.
Get here in a thirty third minute Sounders.
Nil, Dallas nil.
It's First Responders Day today.
So again in light of Memorial Day weekend, recognizing those first responders who have course on the front lines, remember their contribution and during those COVID years of course, where they had to be out there helping the community day over day, night, overnight themselves in harm's way, of course.
When I quite knew what was going on.
So we appreciate everything that they have done over their service to our communities.
Sounders and Brian Schwetz having a word with the fourth official.
Just let's get a couple of questions. Sounders just need to be patient. Steve zac Quarni mentioned it's gonna come. Let's go back to Jesus Ferrara really quick, which we're trying to get to it a couple of ten.
Minutes or so ago.
But Brian Schemetz's message to him as it was to Massovski, play inside the sex and put yourself about being and around the goal. And he was almost there at the very beginning of the game, couldn't quite get on the end of it.
Yeah, I think that that's Susan. It's tough when you haven't scored. You know, in great form, you're a strike and you live and die by your goals. Your confidence does at least and I guess it's former team. You want to put in a good show, win a show, but you have to do it within the floor of the game, the flow of the team. You don't want
to force things, make things happen. And I think he's experienced enough that he'll know that he's got to be patient, paid towards the team strength, and just has to believe that when that chance death's coming will come. It just takes one time to time. He saw a masoftly put n't buy a board for a very long time, gets one. Suddenly he's on a road.
And it's like five and five.
And so that's the life of a strike on an attacking player.
You just gotta stay patient, stay confident, and in Ferrara's case, he's an extremely.
Experienced player, even at his young age. He's been through droughts before. Pick Come and go.
John foo Bell just takes off his chest and then Chick cleans it up. Sound his habit with that man Ferrara striding forward. Ryan Siders rolled on ten yards from the end, like cuts it back, rolls it back to his brother. Christian will give and go with Russ and he holds it, rolls it back out to his right hand side down the end line.
It goes Christi towards the end, like cuts it back. Nobody there cleared by Dallas. Sound as little explorers won't be one of the back. And here comes Dallas in transition. Sounders caught forward, but now they retreat.
Green Shirt's getting back. Three four, five Green Shirts coming back to help. But Dallas and their red and blue shirts have the ball middle of the park with Padrino. Now it's it's nearsight to farringon overlapping run by far fat outstretched foot of Alex Roldan. Farrington was baiting him in for that when he wins the fowl in a dangerous area on this left hand side of the eighteen yard box.
Gonna be a free kick fo Dallas.
It's a very dangerous area here. I mean this is one of.
Those one where it can be a cross shot and if you serve it right you can ask a lot of questions of the defensive team, which is the Sounders. In this case it will be a right foot in swing and one you try to frame the gold. Lots of runners across step from Fries.
I sit in peripheral.
If the Sounders you've got a hold of high line, give Steph enough room to work in. But that is all about the delivery.
Candy, get it right here.
It's gonna be padrino from this left hand side of course Son in the eyes of Stephan Fry, sticky surface.
He whipped in.
He does go in and then they say hands and step by Friar's a good delivery towards that backstick. Perfect hike for Fry just to snag it out of the air. So he walks towards the top of his box and his bright.
Salmon goalkeeping kit.
Keep it up by the Sunders, kept in by Dallas on their right hand side, back to Dallas.
Then picked up now by Ken Best to clip it forward.
Alfrida saying it was a handboard like it just jumped up on Ryan's arm, but the referee didn't get the foul.
It's gonna be a free kick for Dallas deep in their attacking half of the field. But another chance to get the big men forward the day and they biaga a booba car walking towards the top of the eighteen yard box.
Big powerful players got the height alongside Farrington as well. So Steve's that point mentioned about the delivery. Sounds have to stay strong here ten minutes or so to go this first half.
Neil Neil sound as Dallas before he kicked Dallas.
This time it gets clipped towards the back stick, easy for Stephan Fry blots it out the air.
Disappointing ball from Dallas. And when you're an.
Away team, when you're on the road and you've just played on Wednesday full one hundred and twenty minutes, those are the chances you've got to execute up.
There's a pretty poor ball, you know. Sometimes these games are very close. It does come down to a set piece situation. If you're Dallas does maybe few and far between, you're not making much of the run a play. You've got to make sure your delivery's on point, and it wasn't in that case.
Al this is sitter air freeze flag. The fans and the stands just disagreeing with the decision. Little booze here and there. It's one of those frustrating ones. You want to let the game to play play out and get the right.
Decision, but sometimes it could go up a little bit. Earlier it felt like Ryan had inch stuff signed on that switch up play. But it's nice to see Ferrara's not gonna give you the Jordan Morris dynamic playing behind and you have to stretch the back four. It feels like Dallas a somewhat comfortable right now, just pressing a little higher at the field that thrown him behind his net.
But Ryan Kent does have the speed to do it. And right now here's the point the.
Sole player and in that attacking quartet, who's going to stretch that back line?
And I think he's got a decent balance.
Though you mentioned Christian rod Dan's rangel passing, He's spent a couple switch passes to him, the majority have been to feet. If you can find him in a space a little bit more, I do think it does unlock a different dimension to this attack.
It comes Dallas now picks it up left corner of the box, overlap and run by far Fan Julio clipsit him the outside of his foot clear by Kim Kye particularly cleanly, but he got the job done. As de la Vega pulls down far Fan, har Fan goes down holding his face inadvert and grabbed by de la Vega,
and he said maybe walk away, step away. It's gonna be a free kick for down as Sounders and there's last few minutes he get up a couple of free kicks as now will be fully focused on delivering a good goal here and testing the Sounders back line.
They have the height.
It's gonna be that man Padrino again, who's gonna have the responsibility on this near side. Dallas's left just a couple of steps in from that touchline, eighteen yards or so from the end line, so a good angle to whip it in, just a one man wall with Rosneck standing ten yards away. Son in the face of Stephan Fry All comes in towards the fast stick.
Push clear by step and Fry. Better delivery by Prdrinio, but at the end of the day was reasonably comfortable clearance by Fry. But over the end line it goes corner kick.
Yeh, this is exactly what actually that has wanted.
A slower game.
Stop start, make it about the set pieces cause confusion with your runners. Just put a sound as back Land and Stephan Fry, I'm not as much pressure as possible. It's sort of sucked the life out of the game. In the last five minutes here the momentums on a little bit. There's still times for the sound is by. You have to stay focused. They concentrated as he set pieces mount.
Up three green shirts sitting on top of the six yard box defending their zone, and it comes out swinger towards the back of the post free or see if he's going to just call it again, and he put the whistle to his mouth early just before the war was delivered.
It looks like it's gonna be another corner kick given to Dallas, a retake. It's three.
Red shirts top of the box matched up with it's four red shirts with three sounders players.
Feels like they're over powered right now with extra player's gonna be a Boubacar top of the box. And then the Joga day.
Is going to be available as his Kike all goes in ball down then just bounces through to stephone carry You'll take that all day long.
Gets nudged into by a Dallas player.
Like ro Mirror's foul towards the beginning stage of that first half five minutes to go.
Here the QC pitch lumen Field Sports.
Radio ninety three point three KGr FM. Perfect day for a game of football here on this Memorial Day weekend, early kickoff for the sound is can they take advantage?
Here? With Ryan Kent left hand side.
Ten yards from the end, Like cuts towards his right foot, will step over towards his left, then flicks it in inside the six hook clear by far Fan stop Garda backs into rolled on six of one half a dozen of the other sound as half possession with kim Ky he rolls it out to this near side into Alex. Rolled on flows down by Ulia, then square to varcause. He clips it towards the far side to Kent, who gets an overlapping run, bounces it into a bouber cart and I has to jump back onto his feet, gets
nudged over by a bouber card. Seems an obvious foul on chating standing right there a little confused, but sound as with new who has the ball still right towards the corner, stick clips it in then hook clear by Romiro, challenged by Farrington and Bell.
Bell wins it headed forward by the combination of Brian Ken's Patrino down on the deck, nudged into fell awkwardly quickly and by the Sounders left corner of the box with Vargas whips it in briand in front of pass collected well by the Dallas goalkeeper.
In the final three minutes of this first half, nil nil Sounders Dallas.
I mean Adam Chapman is one of the best referees, has me for very long time. He's missed a couple of very obvious ones in a Buba Kai. He's done the same thing twice, clattered into the back of Fergus on one play that went unchecked.
That was the same thing. To know who and little Precky and Bran schmissa.
The Sounders bench ask some questions on the fourth official deb that is getting away with a couple of easy ones.
It comes downas again they've had some joy in these transitional moments. Is Julio cost eighteen yard box. Hegoes, rolls it in, got some time and space towards the endline. He goes sounded to be patient. They're defending Willio has it to Patrino top of the box.
I has to flick it in.
Cleared well by Kim Ky as Stephan Fry stepped out, doubt booted out.
There's Ryan Kent just turns away for pressure. With these or combination, that's a Boubacar and that's a yellow card. Cynical foul by Boubercar.
Good foul probably in the case of Dallas, slow down the attack. But seems like you mentioned just thirty seconds ago, ruber Car has been guilty three or four times.
This time he gets his yellow cards.
That makes up for him.
But Kent was away.
There was so much space in behind the bober Clark, Trent paigned so well. The quick one too have knew he was off to the races. So I do have to give credit to a booba Car there, just the veteran experienced player there saying the ball can get pass you, but not the man otherwise he did not want to chase Kent thirty fifty yards down the pitch in this heat, the Seattle.
Heat here today.
But I will say DAAs they have stole down the sound as they made a game a bit more choppy, a bit more about the set pieces and a sound just haven't found that second gear again that getting an opening.
Thirty minutes they come the sound on top of the box to the Vargas looking for an option, flickering too for error price to cut it sis. The referees flag goes up against slight delay, but white cor or was flicked inside the eighteen to a running Ferrera.
Well.

In the final minute of the forty five.
Michelle Ludka will have a chance to talk to Brian Schmittz on the way out of the locker room for the second half.
We'll see what Brian it's made of this first half. I'm sure it's a.
Positive in the first twenty minutes or so, and it's been Dallas of really just Steve zac Corny mentioned have just stagnated this game somewhat. The crowds fell into a bit of a lull as well as of the players. But then they go now with Fargas center, the park crosses the halfway line, was out of Brusnak on the left hand side, Kent waiting for it. Now he gets it ten yards from the n line, look up on the right shoulder, whips it in block well by Dallas.
Now it's new step over plays it into Rosnik, back to Ryan Kent left corner of the box. Back it goes to Rosnik. Six gold men on the season for Russack. It whips in and then awkwardly cleared by Ibyaga. Two minutes of added time put up by the fourth official. Sounds up some time as they continue to probe in this attacking third of the field.
Now it goes to this.
Right hand side to roll up drop of the shoulder, flows down well by far Fan. Dallas have defended well in this first half. As Delaven gets nudged into. Eventually he does warn that foul.
Earn that foul.
Now the Sounders have a chance in and around the right corner of the eighteen yard box.
To test this back line and test the goalkeeper.
Yeah, and it's in a very good area here city foul. But that is you were defending well, frustrating the Sounders. You weren't able to break you down at I sort of gold him out of jail, but it does give Albert Russnick a chance to end.
It half on the high.
It's set up more if you're going for goal for a left foot the player, but it seems like Albert rus Nick will be the only player around the board, so it will be across.
Can you get the delivery right? Give the kim.
Keyhees and give it susperra Knu who Jonathan Bell a chance to read attack this board.
It's rightsnach websiting towards the back stick headed over by Della Vega.
He got the position and a full head on it over the topic goes gold kick remains nil nil. I mean that's the last chance of this first half.
It's a good board.
But Albert Russknick and of all people in the back poles that la Vega gets too much under it. The balls never on target, heads over the crossbar.
And the sounds.
They have to settle for a mill half time and a halfway looked like they were more than likely to break through, just haven't been able to do so well.
Wherever you're headed, this gaunt tire wants to get you there safely.
Shot for tires with tread well your personal tie a guy, a discount tire, dot.
Com, all over the top outcomes, pass come through, kick clearance, and there's the referees whistle to bring this first half to an end.
And it was the first half of two halves. First twenty minutes or so, Sounders were on the front foot. Second half of that first forty five minutes it was Dallas who had the edge saves.
That one of your final thoughts.
Yeah, I just think the Sounders got got got coins of the se Dallas type of game.
A stop start game.
Make about set pieces, make it ugly, make it choppy. Fair play to Dallas. But at opening twenty five minutes, as you said, was really good. It was Kent running it with Della Vega running.
You have to get back to that for the Sounders and be patient that gold.
Might not come right away, but whenever it does come.
The floodgags may open.
Just be patient, don't overdo it, and of course he does have resources on the bench as well.
We'll take a short break, Jackson Felt, Kellen Rowe and Pete Fewing.
We'll be back to break it all down at halftime.
Here at EQUC Pitch, Here at lumen Field, it's Sounders nil sc Dallas nil.

Zero zero At the half between the Seattle Sounders and FC Dallas. It's a beautiful day here Lemonfield sun is out shining on the stands, but unfortunately we haven't seen the sun shining on a ball in the back of the net yet for either team, especially for Seattle.
Lots of chances, but nothing in the net yet.
Sounder's e FC Soccer is presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC.
We welcome in you into the halftime show.
Jackson Feltz, Calen Rowe, Pete Ewing, Kellen, what did you think of those first forty five minutes?
I mean, it was fun, it was an exciting for staff, but it wasn't anything end product wise.
And I think that's what you're kind of letting this Dallas team have a little hope. You're gonna just keeping them.
Around, tugging them a little bit more, a little bit more, find a way to put them away.
I mean, you say we had chances, and.
I'll kind of come back out a little bit. I'll say you had half chances. Yeah, nothing was real cut clear. It was a good ball in the box, but no runners. It was runners, but no real ball, and he didn't find the right players. So can you find a way to actually get something dangerous. Can you continue to let Ryan Kent run up and down that sideline? Pay to day the day go run up and down that sideline, but create something at that end product.
I agree the team's done well except the final product and on the offensive side. On the defensive side, I think Fries had to deal with more dangerous shots skipping right in front of him. He had one come through a crowd, And to Kellen's point, it does give Dallas some hope. If I'm in the locker room right now saying, hey, zero zero, we just need one chance. When they are on the attack, they look dangerous. Seattle, I love you know.
We talked about dyving balls before, and we're counting them seven different diagonal balls to shift the defense from one side to the other. We just have to make sure we get something out of it. And the crosses have been pretty good, you know what. The one thing we haven't been doing is getting into the spots. We haven't had the trailer coming through, so I think there's been some solid crosses are trying to pick somebody out. But
tell you, Pause hasn't had to do too much. He's really not had to make a big save similar to the Portland game.
Well, I'm wondering, you know, as this game gets longer and longer. Obviously Dallas not only has more hope, but Pete, I'm also a little bit worried about the time wasting that and we might see from Dallas.
Well, their goalkeepers named Pause, so it was expected. That's for all the dads for Father's Day coming up here pretty soon.
So well done, mister Fiel.
Yeah with that, and what it's like a breaker on the halftime show, I will quickly mention michelob ultra is ninety five calories and two point six grams of carps. Back to a beautiful littmit Field and the halftime show where the Seattle Sounders in FC Dallas right now are even at zero zero.
This copyrighted audio cast on Major League Soccer.
And may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer. Jackson Felt Calenroe beat Feuing. Here for the halftime show, Let's take a look at the Sounders bench tonight and what they have available for Brian Schmitzer currently on the bench, Andrew Thomas, Colonie Cozerienzi, Read Baker Whiting, Danny Lava, ju Al Polo,
Paul Rothrock, Georgie Manongu, and Osase de Rosario. Should be noted we didn't bring this up here in the first segment, so we will write now in the fifteenth minute, Jamar Gomez Andrade went down with an injury in his own box there for Seattle. He had a kind of limp and then gingerly walk off the field and then back to the Sounders side. He is taken off there in the fifteenth sixteenth minute, and Jonathan Bell is on for him. So Sounders have already used one of their subs today.
So Jonathan Bell on the field at the center back. Because now of the rest of that bench, Callen Pete a who comes off of it and b one are your keys to the Sounders getting on winning here in the second half.
Yeah, we talked about it pregame off air a little bit and I had said osase for sure for me, but I put Paul Rothrock in there. But after seeing his first half, I still think Davis Sarrio is going to be that first.
Kind of sub off the bench.
But then Georgia Manonga, I think he's so good one v one and they're finding a lot of space on that wing.
I would like I would rather.
Have him go one v one consistently against these outside backs and find bottles into the box and hopefully someone can.
On the end of it.
Yeah, I would agree with all three of those, so it's gonna be my top three as well. And you know, the guys on the wings have done well. Pedro's done well on the right with Alex rouldun Knew who can't have done a good job, so Brian can leave him on. But for you know, I thought Paul Rothrock was a big lift against Portland when he subbed in, So maybe around the sixtieth, seventieth, even seventy fifth minute, I think we can get something out of those guys as well. Again,
it comes down to quality. The guys on the wings of a good job. I'm just going to make sure we get on that. We've got to get through into the right spots. The crosses have been there. It's not the other way around. It's not that the crosses haven't been good. Sorry, but I think the wingers and then the Risario up front, it's goood. Call well.
Once again, Dallas is in the middle of a trip that has three road games in nine days where they're traveling over eighty or overseeing over eight thousand miles in these nine days on six flights. Hopefully we can stretch those tired legs and get in here in the second half, it's zero zero between the Seattle Sounders and FC Dallas Danny Jackson, Steve zach.
Wani with Michelle Ludco on the sideline.
They'll be back for the second half, which starts next on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM.

FL Welcome back Sounders fans or sun Drenched EQC pitch here at Lubin Field this early afternoon kickoff between the Sounders and FC Dallas nil nil at the hoff. I'm Danny Jackson alongside Steve zac Kwani here in the booth. Michelle Ludka down on the field, and Michelle has.
Taught to Brian Schmittzer.
So we're going to try and carve out the right amount of time for Michelle when this game gets going. As the teams get about to kick off, Alan Chapman referee, ball in hand, he walks over. Here's a quick chat with Brian Schmitzer. Like FC Dallas has made a change. We'll get to that change those lineups in just a moment or so. So the Red Shirts of Dallas now we have to kickoff for this second half. They're attacking the south end, which is typically the Sounder's end to
attack in this second half. They're in a combination of navy blue and red shirts, blue shorts, blue socks. They'll have to kick and here we go with Patrinio, who had a couple of chance to put the ball in the box from set pieces towards the back end of that first half, wasn't able to connect with any real quality to test for in the back line, and the Sounders are in their anniversary kit, the green shirts with light loose shorts and white socks.
They're gonna be tacking the north end the goal to our left.
This new Housard's gonna roll it to Jonathan Bell, who came on in that first half for an injured Gamar, who goes up ask him for a deflected ball.
It's gonna be a throwing on this near side for FC Dallas. As a boober Car.
Walks up sounded to have to defend early in this second half, hands of a hoober Car down the right hand side. He throws it towards the big frame of Farrington, hook clear of the outside of the right foot by kim Ki. He brought down by Ferrera, not particularly well. Not cleaned up Jonathan Bell, and it's gonna roll towards.
This near side.
Is it gonna play all the way through? It's throwing on deep on the Sounders half of the field. And as we mentioned just coming before coming on air, it's gonna be a fast start I'd imagine in the second half.
Get to Michelle in just a moment.
Once they ball clears this to third of the sound is and it gets put clear, not particularly far the field, but brought down well by Della Vega and then cleaned up by that man Christian rolled On, who's again just white place, wrong time as always.
Just holds things up. Comes back to his brother Alex and his right back spot to kim.
Kihe calls it back to Sefer and Fry, who was honored right before kickoff for his four hundredth game for the Sounders. Through the legs it goes, and that's gonna be a free kick for the Sounder. But there who threw the legs and that gives us a chance to throw it down to Michelle.
Thank you, Danny.
As I spoke with coach coming out of the tunnel and he said, overall he was really pleased with the performance of his team in the first half, pretty much
everything except the very final third. He said what he really stressed to the team at halftime was that he loves the temple that they're playing and how they're really trying to push Dallas, and so he tried to really be careful on how he positioned to them, to be patient, to really if they could just possess the ball four or five, six more passes that would make all the difference on a tired team like Dallas.
Stretch them just a little bit more and it could create greater opportunities.
Yeah, thanks Michelle.
Sounders have the ball just inside their half of the field with rolled finans ball to Jonathan Bell, giving away just sloppily again by Jonathan Bell a couple of times, says coming on the field has done that. Now here comes new sub Comungo strikes the ball straight in the hands of Steph and Brian says that que I'll let you pick it back up what Michelle said and Brian, but can't be the way that Brian wants, especially if miss back.
Give the boy cheap.
But we've said that all afternoon long.
That's the dangers when you give the ball away, you allow this team to play in transition. Anybody can be dangerous. So yet again it was a sloppy pause and it's not one person, there'd been multiple corporates. But that's when FC Dallas istend. The most dangerous is when the sounds
have been sloppy. I agree with branch Metz. I think there was a good first half, but I think there's a huge disappointment that they weren't able to turn that level of dominance and possession into a league and the longer it stays no nail.
We just saw dating.
It's one mistake, one moment to switch off, and suddenly you find yourself playing behind in a game where you've been completely dominant. So it's going to be a test of how much you push your envelope and how long can you stay patient before you try to make something happen. He does have options on the bench as well, and I do think it was a good first un performance, but that glaring not getting a goal in this kind of game that won't sit.
Well with them, and the Sounders have been guilty of that over the course of certain games where they've had dominance, haven't been able to take advantage the.
Teams like Charlotte.
He exaperates Steve where we woulding comfortably and then the last minute the game just gave up that goal.
To look at the tying goal to Charlotte.
Those are the painful ones, and Sounders back line has cleaned things up since the first month or so the season where they were giving uncharacteristic goals.
Away said individual mistakes.
But.
Good touched by new who just drives past Delgara down the line. It goes to Ryan Kent here he is knocks it past Ibiaga, clips it in and cleared.
Just stop the.
Toe of Ferrera and that's where the Sounders can really penetrate.
Down that left hand side. With Ryan Kent got to the.
End line, try to find Ferrera over the end line. It goes first corner kick of the second half for the Sounder.
That's such good play. It's back to what works so well in the first half. It's the white areas. Ryan Kent really getting out one hundred percent of a sprint there puts it a very good ward.
It was well defended.
It comes Rosack in swinger with his right foot towards the back sicket, goes headed away by Dallas and hook clear by Paedrina all the way into the Dallas bench.
It's the Dallas head coach Eric Quill gets off and.
Just encourages his team to step up, step out, make the field nice and compact. It worked for them in the back half of that first half, frustrated the Sounders at times.
Yeah, Steve Zach, I want to mention the first half.
I'm sure I'll mentioned the second half that keep things clean, don't be your own worst enemy. Chancer will come. Sounders had two point one expected goals in that first half.
The ball goes in to Ferrara and the outside of the foot by Ryan Kent good delivering quality.
Of pass, sort of find Ferrara in behind as the ball gets clipped over the top and that's gonna be a danger from the sound as they opened up too much, but cleaned.
Up well by Kim Keehe.
It comes to Della Vega, no all options forward, it's good, dribble forward across the halfway line, but decides to come back, slow things down with the foot of Vargas and then roll done. That's a Kim key he and let's get you that lineup for the Sounders. The ball trickles through to Pas in the Dallas goal, so no changes for Brian coming out in this second half. Sevend Fryan goal the back fourth rolled on Jonathan Bell who did make a change for Yama who.
Looked like he pulled his hamstring in that first half. Had to make a change in that first half Kim kihee and then knew who Christian alongside oh Ed.
Petro Dela Vega, Albert Rosneck, Ryan Ken and then Hazus Forrara former FC Dallas man up front.
It's new, a couple of stepovers. He's playing with confidence here.
The news and that's actually four newho and just overcooked it a little bit. The new runs forward un necessarily some ways. But Sounds pick it up middle of the park and they come again.
All to the far side. Candela Vega keep it in mounds.
He can't see the pool flash in front of the advertising hoardings that are advertising the FIFA Club World Cup coming here just a couple of weeks. It's put a gentle reminder in the ears of everybody listening that it's Botafogo the Sounders will host. In their first game, Sounders are gonna host three group games after being one of the only two.
MLS teams that qualified coming out of the gates alongside Miami, the league host Vota Fogo.
Next up would be Athletico Madrid and group play and then Champions League finalists Parris and Jerman in that final group games. That has but it comes Ken left corner box clips it in headed clear by far fan, picked up by Russnack outside the foot clearance by del Gardo. If you expect well, Brian Schmittz probably scripted out in the second half, you've gotta see a lot of this Dallas camp down in front.
Of their goal, defending, and then can they break on the counter.
It's even more pronounced in the first off and sounds that almost at seventy percent of the board. And this is where you have to be quite careful because you're gonna get more patient. Are sending six seven plus forward at times su Dallas keeping one or too high. Just have that threatened transition as we're see.
Now, good step by Kim Keehee off the foot of Donna Comungo. Let's get you that Dallas lonup coming out of the gates. Just one change for Eric Quill and his men, passing goal to bubakr Joga, Day, Ibiaga.
And far Found and you're back four Ramiro Show.
And del Gado in the midfield three and then it's the Padrino Farrington and then Bernard Camungo this up him on four Julio and half time and here comes Ken giving away at a chance the side of the box, trying to find the photo. Vargats picked up by Cake and Dallas, and it comes Padrinia with Cake again trying to flick it around the corner into can played by Dallas, but Sounders tackle of Alex.
Roldan Steve Za Karney is asking for.
All it has to be.
I'm still playing the game because it was such.
An obvious five yards away and it took.
The breath for a few seconds, so just just to side.
But it was definitely hand bored, I think for Dallas, I don't mind when teams defend deep, do what you have to do, but they have no out there.
They're setting ten behind the ball and they win it. They're having a very hard time.
Even being engaged in transition. If you're the Sounders and you know that you can edge your lining ups. And see Jonathan Bell, he's.
The last man back. Why he's inside, he's at.
The top of the circle. Inside of that is off.
It comes right out the top of the box.
Tries to play it into Ferrera, can't quite connect and that ball player.
Exactly, you win the way high and you go again.
So this is foremost a training drill attacked Bus's defense before being a part of it. It's just a case of can you find that moment to be clinical when you get a chance.
There's a ball in behind to Nou tries to clip it in clear by Ebiaga on the foot now of a buber car to Rimiro.
So Kake rolls down the line.
To necessarily by kim Key just runs over the back of del Gado. It's gonna be a foul and a free kick. Four downs right in front of their bench. Kim Ky runs back into position. Yeah, Kamungo really is the only threat in behind. Got some speed, parents is not going to open up. The back lines have to be careful right over committing players.
Yeah.
You saw it of course against LFC where one ball from top of the box in behind caught out Jonathan Ball for that second goal.
But here comes the sound is picked off well in there attacking half.
Of the field with Della fag Can Wriggle free minds the ball to Ferrera's now fanning out to this ryanside towards the in line.
It goes clicked in towards the back stick. Brian Kent's there.
Good climb by Ryan Kent, just hung up in the air, headed it down and picked up by Dallas. See what changes Brian Schmetzer will make in this second half. I'm sure some fresh legs will help some of that dynamic play, especially on the wings. Sounders have opportunities to bring players on that can change the game.
Of course, we'll get to that lineup on the bench just a moment, as Dallas have it as.
They build on that left hand side with far Fan looking absolutely no rush whatsoever.
Zero point one expected goals in that first half.
It comes fro the top of the box. But wait, teams don't care as long as they have the opportunity with nick one goal. It's all the're looking for is Ramiro strikes it. I want to save by fright out of nothing, no pressure on the ball, twenty five yards out Ramiro.
Then it scuffed the shot.
You've almost found the box and corner had to be a really good save right hand by Stephan Fry.
Yeah, it's a big save.
They needed it.
It's not a cleaner strike, just bobbling towards the ball, but so fine the corner that Steph does have to get across and get a big right hand to it. But as a danger you can be almost a seventh of the board completely on top. It takes one moment of magic, one clean strike and sadly you find yourself under.
Pressure Sounders nil Dallas nil Dallas. Have a corner kick inswing other right foot a big goes as a free header on the back stick.
Zibbiaga got a good clean header went straight to the arms of the hands of Steph and Fry. But Sounders just need to kick it up a gear. And I think marchavetz A most likely. We thinking maybe some subs here. You do have three games in a week, have an early kickoff on Wednesday, five point thirty eats San Diego.
Of course a bit of revenge will be in store.
The Sounders will still feel that little bit of pain from the newest franchise in their inaugural season, San Diego, who won three nil down in Southern calif An earlier in the season. And I'll come back on Saturn on Sunday to play a third game in eight days.
You mentioned ten of the next twelve games are at home.
The two games that are on The traveler says Sporting Kansas City is Jonathan Bell.
Just need it a bit like today's go gets away with it, just spins out of pressure. Sounders.
You need to find something. Look a bit lost for ideas right now. This is for air looking a little stranded up front. It's Branis Svetz. You probably feel the same thing we're feeling. Steve up on his feet trying.
To trying to get and I think you won't be too long before you see you probably bought rough Rock you need now someone's gonna be That's perfect example. You've got four Sounds players in a line in the attack, but all of them are facing back to Gold coming towards the board. You have to have some vertical runs going towards the Dad's Gold just stretched up back kind of bit and that's nothing. I think rough Rock does very well. Just makes things happened, and maybe it won't
be too long before you look at the bench. And of course you also have Georgie on there as an up and someone who can make things happen. This is a bit stagnant now and Dallas gain a confidence coming out of their show.
A bit more as well is Farrington runs across from right corner across to the middle top of the box. No real pressure flicked in towards fature good defending by Nude, just held his ground. Faringture run in the back of new holding his lady back of his neck and there's the crowd boove the Dallas player on the ground.
We'll pow it down to Michelle.
Thanks Danny. A point I'd like to go back to you.
Is one of the favorite things that we hear Brian Schmeszer say over and over and over again, is again, this Dallas player remains down at the moment, it looks like they might actually be taking a look to see if there is an injury.
He is still holding his neck.
But Brian Schmetzer is known for saying time and time again, control what you can control. One thing you cannot control is pitch conditions. We spoke earlier about how it's an earlier match time that obviously affected that the player's routines getting ready for today's match than when they normally would. We've talked about this before that. Before the match and at halftime, I would like to note the player is up walking now. It seems to be fine. They water
down the pitch here at Lumenfield. Obviously, today in Seattle, it's a beautiful sunny day. It's the warmest day we've had a match so far this year, which I think is lending to the pitch playing a little stickier than usual and so I'm curious off of yours and Steve's.
You know, experience playing in all kinds of conditions. Can a warmer day where the pitch is dryer, slow down the ball just enough that maybe your touches and timing aren't quite on or you're not quite as in sync as you normally are.
Yeah, absolutely it can.
And I think if you're a team at the Sounders you like to play the ball on the brown, quick, far, sleek possession, it can have a massive negative impact. I always loved when I would see the groundsman out there
watering the pitch. That's why I love playing in Seattle because we normally had a rainfall game just a little bit wet surface always played well to our shremp So I do think the ball holds up a bit more, Your touch is a bit more sticky, it bounces a bit differently, and because we're not used to these super hot days in Seattle all the time, they can make a big difference.
The confusion on the field.
I think the number of Ibiaga went up, and I think he's questioning it because it was for Musa.
I think in maybe a twenty three that should be going off. So it's gonna be Alvaro Augusto is gonna come on the field.
Thanks for Cake, It's gonna be Farrington comes off Moosa their main man with three goals, three assists.
Who's gonna come on the field. And then Shaq Moore is gonna come on for del Gardo.
So Sounders need to find a way to up the tempo a little bit in this game. It looks like things have slowed down a little bit. Let's step when Fry rolls it out, let's right hand side. Sounders to have it right hand side with kim Ki. He's going to flick it up into the air now to sounds a little sloppy right now. So let's get you the bench for the Sounders Georgia Mnungo, Paul Rothrock, Redbaker, White and Danny Lava, Koloni Kosa, Rienzi Shao, Paolo Andrew Thomas, the goalkeeper Zarze de Rosario.
So Sounders have some firepower on the bench.
Got some youthful legs that will certainly change the dynamics. We'll just see what Brian Schmizer does relative to personnel and if he makes it tweaks of formation. Those are the crowds in a bit of a lull. They need to be jeered up and energized as well. These are the tough games when you play at home sometimes when
teams start to build a little bit of confidence. Now they've got some of their main players on there, including Musa as you mentioned, as he gets his pocket picked by of course rolled on and then it's a little sloppy by the Sounders.
Just roll it back to Stephan Frey Well.
Sounders FC Socker is presented by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders. F All goes back to Ebrgo, rolls it back to pars in the Dallas goal just at the top of his eighteen yard box, rolls it out to a good close down by Paget Olive Ager.
Is he gonna be one of the players. It's gonna have to make way from likes of roth Rock or Georgie So again Sounders kicking off today's MLS games noon kickoff Apple TV trying to figure out.
This balance of games and allowing fans to see more games more times. As mentioned during the week, in terms of preparation, you know, how do the players adapt to playing an earlier kickoff? As all goes over the top, tries to find it from Ferrera to Alex rolled on on that right hand side, it's gonna be a throwing.
For Dallas on their left hand side. Deep on their left hand side.
As they build out the back, a little bit of pressure out for the Sounders and Vargas clips it forward to rolled On.
So that's gonna be a foul look clip for the heels. But Mooso, I think it wasn't rolled on to be freaking for the Sounders.
Yeah, and again, just get a little bit sloppy, choppy in the way that ESSI Dallas would like it. Reminiscent of that final ten to fifty minutes on the first half. This sounds going to create their own energy.
Here towards the endline.
He goes and of course the Christian rolled just drills it in straight to the arms of Parz who was hugging that front post.
It's the ball towards the end line on that right hand side.
It was a willing runner and Christian rolled On couldn't quite hook it back and cut it back.
That's gonna be in the hands of the Dallas goalkeeper. Just slices it forward.
It's going to hold up here because shatt Moore comes across the field, picks it up and then give it away.
To the Shell's point.
The field does play a little sticky, little slower, especially where the sun's baking it. Through the course of the game, there's so much war Tea can put on it. Sounds need to step.
Up and see. These are the moments where sounders have to find the rhythm. Push the rhythm a little bit. I mean they can be lulled to sleep as well. Here they're gonna play a little bit quicker.
Yeah, what's talking about being patient? That's fine, but you can still play quickly. You can play quick without being too much in a hurry. You've been too rushed, I do think right now the runs bock come offortable as we'll see.
Now all in behind there's Alex rolled on.
Can he bring it down inside the box good defending by the Dallas back line.
Or goes into shat more on.
This Ryan's side closed down by Ken and then flick from this near side to the.
Far side to Kamungo.
Off the chest of Kamungo, he runs towards the top of the eating yard box, towards kim Key steps up well top of the box. It goes good closing down by Kent, the combination of Ken and Alex rolled on and the referee just a couple of steps away. Here's the obvious foul.
Sounds want to get the game going quickly here, trying to pick up that rhythm. See some action down on the bench. It's gonna be the thing, Georgie man.
Yeah, the right changes.
This game's crying out for different change and they will impact this game in different ways. I think rough Rock it's gonna be everything he does off the wall, hustle, plays, just makes things happen, and of course has a nose for the goal as well, can games off on the end of things. And then with Georgie, it's just gonna be relentless driving on the back line, winning free kids, forcing your defenders into compromise situations, trying to make things happen.
But right now they soundly just need a spark, needs something. The game's going too much in the direction of how FC Dallas wanted to go. And if you're the Seattle Sounders, this is a brand. Devans called us a must win game on our podcast this week, and I have to agree with him. I think it's a game where the way the table's shaping up, it's so tight in the West.
You have to win your home games, especially in the day when you're far super at your opponent on paper at least, and they're coming off from a cross country trip and shore rest.
Is Ryan Kent drops his should the top of the box, It goes to oh Be and to Nude on his left hand side, whips it on the sex and just off the head of Ferrera, brought down by Comungo. Where's that top of the box, tries to find the bottom corner, drags it wide sixteen yards out looking for that twenty fifth goal for the Sounders, who will put him as the second one of the second player to get twenty five goals and twenty five assists for two different teams.
And now we get the changes for Brian Schmitzer. It's gonna be Ferrero who's gonna make way, and Pega dela Vega's gonna make way.
So Georgia Minonga goes on. We'll see if rap Rock maybe slides up front seat. I'll let you kind of fit the information. We did that in Portland a little bit.
Yeah, it's an interesting one here, but of course there's no natural number nine Ish metsal Damasossi down Jordan Morris, Monanda definitely goes through the right hand side. That's a straight swamp for Dela Vega. Rough from We'll be in a central area here with Albert Russnack supporting him. I think it's more case of just having enough bodies into the attack. Rough Rocks in this Ruptoi, he's gonna make
runs him behind. You'll occupy the two center backs. Maybe not his best position, but I think for the way the game has gone, his skill set does allowed him to kind of beat a noosance up there, and they order guys around him. Ken Russknak Georgie should find space underneath to support him and try to make things happen.
Dallas have it in their half for the feet. A little bit of pressed now looks like Rothrock is gonna play up top. A little bit of hustle is what maybe Brian Schmetzer is looking for. Because Musa has the big number nine three goals, three assists on his campaign plays the ball in to Berdrino now. Jack Moore has it on his right hand side, just in front of the sounder's bench to Vidrina back comes Russnick to help
runs down top of the box. It goes with Dallas to Ramiro to Berdrinio top of the box players Musa goes down.
Well have you ever seeing it?
Arms and up in the air as Ryan Ken tries to throw it through the leg It's not a place mayble to do that. As Rosneck has it, sounders a little sloppy right now for the sounders, and Vargas clips it well to Georgia Mnungo on the right hand side cross half way line.
It goes fun of Alex to Rousneck running behind by. Georgie just holds his run.
Now gets the board to feet Whine on that right hand side or after it comes in now spins away back into the Eachen yard box.
If he's gonna be the nine, can he find some space?
Here comes Georgie skips by towards the end light, good defending.
I think it was Pike that came across.
Them a fifty five split in locked the cross over the endlining goes it's gonna be a Sounder's corner kick Neil Neil here if he approach the seventy minute mark, twenty minutes to go of the ninety Sports Radio ninety three point three KGr FM, Perfect day for football. Sounders need to find a goal for this packed looming field. They find it from the set piece, but two in MLS on corner kicks, ball comes in and then I'll go just white.
It was a good spring and it flashed just wide of pass right post. I think always knew who's holding is head in his hands.
It's gonna replay here. It was a good lords flicked header. It's gonna be a gold kid nil nil, Sounders knocking on the door.
But that set piece coming as a result of Georgie's first involvement in the game.
Every time he receives the ball, if he's one v one, he's got to try.
And take his man on and it's gonna be a case with the Sounders again as many numbers into the box as possible. We came into this game thinking it will be a dominant possession game. Lots of chances. That's been the case. The goals haven't followed, so it might just take something ugly. You've got almost will your way to victory, and the sign of a good team is when it's.
Not quite way your way.
Can you still find a way to dig up three points. That's the task ahead of the Sounders. It's remaining twenty minutes plus whatever we get in time acted.
One pause in the Dallas goal has it in his hands and with that as he pushes out his back line, we'll throw it down to Michelle.
Thank you, Danny.
I got an update on Yemar Gomez Androtti and the injury that he sustained in the early minutes of the first half. It is being listed as a right hamstring injury. No timeline or details beyond that. He'll obviously be evaluated more, but again, a right hamstring injury for you, Mark.
Yeah, very unfortunate for ye.
Ma's just covered this week in the press is and how consistent and how well he's playing. And it comes Ryan Ken quickest the three assists for Ryan Kenn in club history. And it comes the sound Is with rolled on.
That man, Ken, I'll stop you on that pass picks up now by new who Ken just.
Needs to keep the ball, but Dallas have it across half way line. Is Jack Moore running down the right hand side waisted passes. Eric Quill's his head in.
His hands, wondering what on earth was that Sounders will come again.
Well, this corpyreting audio cast of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebroadcast without the.
Express rin consent of Major League Soccer. Sound does he have it to find something? It might be for the most.
Unexpected sauc see these games sometimes find a hero somewhere the most unexpected. But uh, Sounders still has some firepower on that field. It's the factor of unlocking out the stubborn and resilient backline for Dallas.
Yeah, I think the person else there the space is gonna be wise, so Georgie and Ryan can't become very key to everything you're trying to do. I still think the battles between this possession side to side, trying to find holes in the back line, and also been a bit more direct at times of running behind. Sometimes the run has to come before the board. You almost fourth
the midfields playing behind. We haven't seen enough off the board running here for the sounds, I don't think, and Dadas really haven't been put under a ton of pressure. It's been quite comfortable. A couple of crosses from wide areas decent chances, but if gone wide, knew who's haid up cross Knack's attempt. They haven't really been scrambling for any prolonged period of time, and they're on the verge of picking up what would be a massive point if they can hold on.
There come the Sounders now with Christian Old and keeping away. It's just not connecting right now for the Sounders. Seventy third minute here Neil nil Sounders. Dallas feels both teams are just ping ponging the ball back and forth right now. No team's got any rhythm into this game. Rothroow makes a lot of spin roof over the top and the Bolld's gonna be a little long from new Who right, idea saw the run from roth Rocks held up, Yeah, all the way back through to the goalkeeper.
Yeah, we don't mind that again. In that situation, rothrop began to golden held up, He's run. By the time he had held it up, knew he had his head down, was playing the ball. But that's the idea. Make runs. Ah, how did a play to force that back line to drop deeper and deeper? Just give them different looks to defend. Right now, everything's predictable, so.
The end line is far fan it's gonna clip it in towards a diving I think that was see if Jack Moore came in from that right hand side, flashed in head of goes over the end line, it's gonna be a goalkick. Far Fan is just asking it will help from Kim Kyeve for some cramp as he lays on the ground towards that end line. There's gonna be another change here for FC Dallas. We just looked down coma found titch point. It's gonna be Metze Belang Coastal Carolin,
former Coastal Carolina player. It's gonna come on the field, looks like and when it comes and it's far Fan numb before who goes off. We'll see how that shifts the dynamics of the play nets Berlang is more of an attacking player. It looks like Shaq Moore is rolling out to that left hand side, so he'll shift a left back net Tipper Lang will just occupy Chack Moore's previous position on this near side the right.
Dallas is looking for a sniff of a chance.
Sounds dominating possession sixty one percent, but again just kind of hook a ball forward and give it away, and I think it's playing the ball through the lion. Stevet's speed is going to break this down. I think Dallas will take that all day long. Those aerial balls, Yeah.
They're very comfortable right now in FC Dallas.
I don't think the Sounders have done enough to show them different looks, different ways in which the sunder's going to attack. That forces Dallas to kind of get up the comforts on a little bit here when I do get a sense that they begin to creep up a bit more forward as the game's dragging on here, as frustration rings around Newmanfield, you seek new who they're plooring. Ken't tomit to run ahead of the ball. We just haven't seen enough of that so far this afternoon.
Well, they've been resilient.
They lost to nil at home last week to their Texas rival Houston, at first win for Houston and in Dallas since twenty eleven, so that was a stinging loss. And then, of course, as you mentioned, played four one hundred and twenty minutes in New York and US Open Cup played lost on penalties after a too two tie.
They've shown a lot of resilience to keep in this game.
Sepore given away from Georgia stuff lying past the top of the box. Good step by roll dark picked up top of the box. There comes ken inside the eighteen strikes.
It fumbled in.
By Georgie and this assistant referees flaggers up on the far side.
They looked like he was an offside position. But we'll take a look. Fiah will take a look.
There was no hesitation this time from the assistant referee on the far side.
And he looks like maybe half a yard off. Yeah, that will wake wake.
Up the crowd, wake up the team if you wanted those afternoons so far, just when you find the breakthrough comes maybe by the land of his kneecap. George's offside there. It's really tight. But I've got to say, looks at the line or gets it right. But that just came from good defending. It was good defending, applied pressure and.
It's walking up his crown here.
So maybe one big push in a spinal fifteen minutes.
Crowd not agreeing with the referee Alan Chapman on that call. It was a toussle of bodies between the Joga Day and Paul Rock. Paul Rothrock was a judge. You have made the foul. They allas have the ball in the foot of Pars lit bit of pressure from Paul. Paul launches along to this near side, headed forward by a buber Car advanced from his right back spot.
Dallas have not shown any weariness of fatigue so far.
They continue to dig in Saunders, of course, coming off their own run of three away games, as they had a normal week of pres albeit ahead of an early kickoff here. And then they have three straight home games through the end of next weekend, and then it's getting.
All prepped up for Club World Cup. Of course, before that they have to travel north to main team in the Western Conference, Vancouver white Caps.
As you mentioned, your Sounders are back at home to face San Diego FC at the Emerald Queen Casino Pitcher Lumenfield on Wednesday May twenty eighth at five point thirty pm Pacific.
Watch the match via the Mlsseason Pass on the Apple TV app and listen on ninety three.
Point three KGRFM and l RA thirteen sixty am. The Provident Swedish pre match show starts at five pm. Sounders habits foot stuck in by Rothrock now Sanders with the Baulderford of Vargas rolls it to new just slows it goes backwards with the ball. Will needs to travel forward, try and break the lines as rolled on. Alex rolled on fart side the right as Rotha makes a William run inside.
Here comes Rosneck. Will let the ball go.
Georgie wasn't quite on the same page as Rosneck and maybe a chance to hit it first time.
I'll click the ball, decided to step over it. Alis read the play.
Now they come away there with Cake on this right hand side, all back from Padrino roars it square into Musa to Ramiro, flicks the ball away to the far side to Komungo. We've got on the score sheet on Wednesday, looking to try and get his MLS season going in a slow start as he wriggles free down the.
Left hand side, now flicked in heading clear by kim Ky.
He ball bounces picked up by Cake and cuts the ball back to Ramiro.
Brazilian player, free agent signing for Dallas.
Dallas come again, Sounders now having to defend top of their boxes. Kimki, he looks like he's struggling now, can hardly run strike over the top. He goes down and that's another center back looks like maybe more a touch of cramp Steves. They are falling right now, are the players and especially those center backs.
Another thing about these early kickoffs in the heat takes a lot more energy.
It takes a lot out of your legs.
Or see now the sound is beginning to slow down a little bit. Brachmanser looks like he's gonna go to his bench one more time. They just see Kimky he here looks like he's cramp. So they're gonna see how this plays out. But you do have di Rosario and Rebaker white and both shrimped into their green ready to go. But Dallas gaining confidence. They might sense then it's more for them than just a plant the table.
Here out swinging corner kit from Dallas.
Ubercar has it free header and then Moosa slashes in the big frame of Moosa.
On top of the six goes over. It's gonna be a goal. Kick remains here on the eighty minute mark, Sounders nil FC Dallas nil, and the score.
Update is presented by Providence Swedish sound need to step up a gear here, some subs ready to come on, redmaker Whiting.
Is that gonna be a change for kim Ky?
He maybe knew who slots inside plays as a center back. As Ryan Kent tries to skip by wins the free kick, it's like de Rosario is gonna come on as.
Well, potentially change for Ryan Kent.
After what goes to that left hand side, the Rosario up fronts some big frame Rassario find his first goal for the Sounders.
Of course, it's a week or so ago. He had a chance from inside the six, somehow found the stand and an open goal.
They want that one back, but it comes the sound as a rolled on right hand side, whips along the six, cut away by Ramiro top of the boxes.
Georgia thet'tle drop of the shoulder. He's been lively since he's come on. Towards the end line, he goes pulled down by I think Kike. No foul giver.
Referee and the assistant referee both had good angles like Georgie was looking for that foul.
It's gonna be a goal kick for FC Dallas.
As you see those changes being made right now, it's gonna be rossneck. So surprising there is the main man's rosneck.
They just got it wrong. I think the fourth of fishes have been a couple of challenges with that board.
That I was very surprised us. I just don't see why you take him after its new kim.
Ky, who's okay?
We Baker Waite comes in the left hand side and you're right.
Ross Rock will come to this left hand side, left midfield and Grosario will go up top.
Are you surprised, Steve with kim Ky here?
You know.
They must have thirty yes, okay, but they must have got a word that he's absolutely okay and good to go, because I thought, maybe you bring on Rebak and White and that's the right mood, but maybe you slide now into the center of the park there of defense. But as it is, kim Ky, he's gonna see this game out and branch S Messer frying more dice on the table here as a Sounders try to find a way to finally break down this resilient.
There's Redbaker whiting out to his buddy Paul Rothrock and he shuffled free of two red Shirts. Now as the Bouba Car and Pagrinio come to defenders, the Sounders encamped in their attacking third of the field looking for an opening.
Paul driven to the.
Far side finds Georgie well hugging that far touch line. Look drop of the shot, a little drop of the foot towards the end. Ninety goes good defending. I think it was kite that came across one the ball sliding tackle and give it away top of the box and the sounders win it back after a slight sloppy touch by Farga, says the sounders try to find an opening. We'll get down to Michelle just a moment. We'll see
the sounders can find a gap in space. With Alex rolled on to Georgie on that right hand side, whips it in towards the fast stick. Bob bounces headed clear, challenged by Reed, russneck cleared by the downs back line. Here comes come go now in transition through the legs of rolled on, and with that, as the sound is clean things up, we'll throw.
It down to Michelle.
To Steve's point, they did get confirmation from Kim Kihey that he was okay. They pulled back the initial subs to reevaluate when Kim was on the ground stretching and they were actually debating whether or not to bring in JP.
I'm gonna pause right.
There, pull with ten and then head you clear, Sounders go up. It's like a foul. Yes, it is a foul. I'll throw it back down to you, Michelle, to finish up your court.
Yes, And they were debating whether or not to bring JP.
As we know we're a little short on center backs right now on the bench thanks to the Amart injury. But they waited until they got confirmation from Kim that they got a thumbs up that he was okay to continue, and then they pushed through the subs that we saw that were just made.
Thanks Michelle.
So Sounders have a chance here from the free kick right of center, thirty yards or so from the end lines rosnacks, they clip it in all bounces and cleared by Dallas.
Is that a penalty?
Oh?
Out of nothing. Alan Chapman has been well calling it. Is he called a penalty? He's just gonna hold things up, have a word. But yes, he's he's picked to the penalty. I don't think that people in the stadium point know what's going on.
I didn't. I didn't see it.
It looked like but Rus.
Next got the ball in his hands.
There are a few bodies there challenging, but for a referee of this level of experience, he has to be sure. So we're seeing the first freeplay here in the stadium, and even that wasn't quite conclusive enough. I don't have the fans a realize the opportunity that's about to be presented.
Now the word might be tricking around.
Here's the first replay.
Oh yeah, it's a humble.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, penalty yeah for the Sounders.
Great cord, great, great cord.
Yeah.
And it's a yellow card and it's playing for this scent on looser.
Oh that's great refereeing because.
I didn't see.
I did not see that daddy, And I think it's not only that the dad is defender there. It hits his arm, he makes a play on the ball of his arm. There's definite movement towards the board. Of course, we'll check in. I don't see this being the time. Well, well, what an opportunity.
Wow, well, well for the Sounders and for Albert Russneck has been a game a frustration for large parts. But the crowd now understand what's going on. They're on their feet. Here's Russneck number eleven for the Sounders, facing pause, steps up and.
Rolls it in the back of the nuts shut Off swings it around these celebrates in the far corner and that's Albert Rossneck's twenty fifth goal for the club, and he becomes the only second player to accomplish that feat in MLS. Twenty five goals, twenty five assists for the Seattle Sounders and they take the lead.
Here lerman Field.
Well, finally get the fans something chare about that.
It came out of.
Nothing, but I Got'll give Alan Chapman a ton of crendet. Here's a big boar to make. You have to be show when you make and he did and Albert russ Snack.
Stepping up with conviction, with certainty, says the.
Coalkie for the wrong way, puts the ball into.
That bottom right hand corner and the Sounders, just minutes away from the ninetieth minute.
Finally, finally, Greig for.
This ECU Dallas team one now.
Sounds Sounders the most unlikely situations, we thought it might would come from an unexpected hero.
We did it in the end with the foot of Russneck.
Maybe Alan Chapman was that unexpected hero as he made the right call on the replay.
Can I caught everybody off guard. Dallas will be crushed. The effort they put in, Sounders will take that goal all day long.
As they pick up the ball now with reed Baker White's a good quick ball too, probably knocks it down the line. It comes to Rosario tries to nip in front of the experience of Iaga rolls about to pass.
Sound has just.
Holding their line five yards inside their own half of the field. As Dallas can clip it from the center to the far side of the left to shack more closed down by the rolled arm Brothers.
The ball goes inside to.
Come on guy as a chance strikes it off kim Key here because he goes down again. But clear there's far too much space inside the eighteen yard box and Georgie makes it unnecessary foul as Brin Schmidtzer just throws his arms up in the air.
Willingness and enthusiasm.
Is one thing.
Yeah, you love it, smarts and only made the fault day. You don't want to give this.
If that a team any unnecessary opportunities back from set pieces, they'll have one here setting tons of bodies forward. The Sound is holding a line around the eighteen yard box. The thelip has been hitt and missed. But when it's been good, it has been good.
Danger Sounders have to defend this free kick, holding their line inside the eighteen yard box. Ball comes in, flicks to the backstick and it was a boober car flying in. It's gonna be a corner kick, a whisper and a whisker away from connecting with that ball on that back post. It's gonna be a corner kick for FC Dallas. They're continued to knock on the door here Sounders have to
stand strong. Minute to go of the nineties, Sounders lead one gold hill here at lumen Field, fans on their feet, ball clipped in towards the backstick as Rothrock just runs and challenges and it's scuffed clearance from the Sounders that picked up well by goalscorer Rusna could just rolls it down the line. It's not been pretty for the Sounders today. Share be much to talk about between Jackson, Kellen and Peter the end of the game.
So don't leave us. But can the Sounders hold on for three valuable points?
As rothwucks clattered into as Georgie just knocks it up the field across a halfway line, they'll take that to tick towards the end of this ninety we'll see what the referee or the fourth official will add on. Dallas continued to come forward. We'll played from center to the far side of Bubercar challenged by Alex rolled On as he follows up and then books the ball clear.
The is it gonna stay in bounds? And it does, George, You're gonna get there just about it is.
It's gonna be challenged by the backline of Dallas to clean it up with IBr who knocks it forward as can He just tracks back to make the head or does a good job, it says the referee flag They go up Referee Alan Chapman, let things go. Sounders have possession. So the board is about to come up just down below us with the fourth official. Six minutes so maybe a couple of injuries, a r maybe just to confer
that penalty kick. What's the many time for the Sounders to defend here and the Dallas aren't gonna hold back there, look into try and get something out of this game.
They put in the effort.
There's no doubt about that sounds out the majority of the ball, but it come Dallas now closed down by Christian Roldan as ever.
Cleans things up.
It sounds one Dallas nil the sport that is presented by Providence Swedish fin.
The Sounders have been definitely the dominant team today, while not always being in control.
It's been the better team.
Hasn't always been pretty, but these are the kind of gang. It doesn't matter when you look back at the end of the season. Three points is three points almost there. Just again, you don't want to drop two people said they're doing now and just invited the pressure on top of him.
What comes in put clear by Rysknackers. Roldan gets up to his feet gingerly. Is the ballfight the top of the box. Green shirts challenging, finds a red shirt that tries to find the fastest.
Jack Moore from the.
Left corner, try to find the top corner, goes over, goes wide, zephyr and.
Fry coming out just demanding more from his team. He wants that clean sheet.
He wants that one hundred and twenty tith clean sheet in his MLS career, setting number two.
In the rankings. And the Sounders still have work to do here.
As we get into the second minute of the six added on Sounders stepping up their line, not messing around. Now, I'm not gonna build out the bank because Eric Quill just motioning to Alan Chapman that he wants more time added on the Sounders just trying to burn off some seconds.
Man amagement of time.
Now is.
Baure comes down this.
Near side for a Sounder's throwing right in front of the fourth official halfway line. Meets this touch line, Rothrop asking for the ball, having we just hold his line.
Ball goes down the line now.
To a big body of Dorosario referee. It felt like I could see the arms locked up around de Rosario.
As Georgie does come back and defend.
Well, picks it up, balling behind he's Derosaria flags down top of the box, Stris to slide it in. Referee makes a good save his words snack and then the assists and referees flag does go up.
Cram boo again. But they'll share the one call that the referee.
You gotta aid he got a big one right. You're not the big onestris work concern. He did get that one right.
But they're a sorrow day and though it was offside, Indianna, I just thought you had a chance to maybe.
Take it around the goalkeeper.
That'll come of time when you get one with one of the game slows down, the Sounders having a chance to extend their lead.
Here as damasos Fomas ball.
It comes roth up. Mussa doesn't want to pull it downca he's got a yellow card. As rock Roup clatteres into kai Ka, he wins the ball. Ball goes over the top to.
A buber Car, strikes it off the post, and then hook clearby reads sound as Nita tighten things up a little bit.
It was a quick play, simple ball over the top.
Two.
A defender in a buber Car who stayed up the field got a strike off the post. Corner kicks sound as fans now trying to get behind their teeth, try to encourage them to defend.
It's gonna be a corticate this near side. Dallas is right for the Padrino outswinger headed down.
We'd make a White just takes it off step and Fry unnecessarily just didn't listen to his captain.
He's not gonna.
Appreciate that now, Stephan Fry goes down. Sorry, three big of Whiting goes down, gives the ball away just a little bit of apprehension now settles into the back line for the Sounders, as Rusnack's playing a left back right now, were big of Whiting is now sitting on their right hand side, So the back fourth of the sounds all over the place right now, positionally as Dallas stride forward, picked up now by the green shirts of the Sounders and Georgie trying to skip by it as a cynical foul.
It's gonna be a free kick, It's gonna be a yellow card.
George is gonna go and it's just gonna by this time, poor slap to the ground.
The day gets the yellow card. He's wondering what's going on the obvious yellow cards? So too quick yellow cards in succession for the Alis.
That's gonna take the sting out of the game somewhat if we get here in the final ninety second, Steve exactly.
Yeah, George is still down and Albert's actually calling for the training stuff to come on. I don't know if they will. Chris Cornish, long time sound as FC trainer, he's right down the touchline way to be let on, and then Chapman now sees to Georgie it seems like Georgie will be okay, he's getting up, but that might just do it.
That a car shot, I mean, I think the post is still rattling. I mean that was some strike. Stephan Fry was well beaten, and the sounders were glad to see the poor cannon off.
The poles come back.
But that's how thin and razor type these margins are at this level, and the sounders look like they will escape.
Stephan Fry just comes forward.
Maybe we'll get another minute added on for a time you wasted just now. But now you got ping the points in the corners and just try to win little fouls, win throwings, keep the borders far away from your corners possible.
Or gets hooked for clearby Dallas and board bounced around, then bounced awkwardly for Redbaker white and picked up by Padrino. Now Moosa rolls it out to the far side to Abubakarna. Sounds will take that all day long. As the assist a referee in this near side pauls a bubba calf for it off side, it's.
Gonna be a free kick for the sound is The sound is.
Now jump albeit at just one place came into today's game twenty points, sitting in sixth position, and they jumped to twenty three points.
Skip over l Efc. Of course sound is playing the first game of the weekend here on that Western Conference. There's a referees whistle barely took a second over the six pints about a time.
And the crowd who packed Lerman Field high five each other and as much there was frustration felt through the crowd and onto the field.
The Sounders like all good teams do, and they find a way to win. And it was right towards the end of the game.
It was Rosnack who stepped in in the eighty sixth minute and just slotted a penalty kick pass pass. Sounders win one nil. They have a nice break through the rest of the weekend. Steve zech on one of your final fourth.
Why it's a big win, and I think you said it, there's a good sign at times when you don't play well, you're not at your best, but you can find a way to eat out the victory they did there. It definitely was a penalty out Russ night Stepper not putting the back of the net.
Outside of that, lots of work on Welcome back to the drawing board and look.
At different things to improve on.
But all that matters at the end of the day is did we get the win, and in this instance, the Sounders did.
It's a massive three.
Points rest up, recoup the game for coming fick and fast sand Eagle comes here in midweek.
But getting this two game homestand off to the pluppick Stock.
And with that, we're going to throw it down to Michelle out the sidelines.
Thank you, Danny, as you alluded to after the game winning goal from Albert Rusnak. With his seventh goal of the season, he becomes just the second player in MLS history to record twenty five goals and twenty five.
Assists with multiple clubs.
The other time that this was done was from Steve Ralston, who played in the league from.
Nineteen ninety six to twenty ten.
However, he did not have any appearances in twenty ten, so his record as being the only player to do this was set in two thousand and nine, So that is sixteen years since an active player has done this in Major League Soccer. So again, Albert Rusnak the only active player in Major League Soccer to have at least twenty.
Five goals in twenty five assists with multiple clubs. He's got seven on the year so far.
SIA, thanks Michelle, ye have Steve Roulso with Tampa and New England. That has an amazing to think of record law that stands since the Saunders joined the league in two thousand and nine. And now Albert Roznak with that penalty kick, that game winner. Today with one hundred and twentieth clean sheet for Stephan Fry, the Sounders eke out that one nil win here at lumen Field. Well, thanks
for everyone involved in today's broadcast. Terry Ryan here in the booth, Mitchell live back at the studio, Keeley Dunning, Kevin Kate, Jordan Thompson.
Is always in their prep for every single game.
To Michelle Ludka down on the sidelines, and of course the Sounders legend Steve zach Quarni.
The Sounders started another tough run of three games in eight.
Days, but this time the games will all be at home and they returned to Lumenfield on Wednesday to it earned some revenge over there after their three nil loss earlier in the season against the newest.
Club in MLS, San Diego FC. But for now we'll take a short break.
Jackson felt, Pete Feuing and Kellen Rowe will be back to break everything down. I'm Danny Jackson, thanks for joining us this afternoon from iq UC Pitcher Lumenfield, where it finishes. It's small's across everyone's faces as the sunlight bathes across Lubin Field.

It's a win for the Seattle Sounders today at lumin Field at our over Rusnak penalty in the eighty sixth minute wins it one nothing for the Raid Green. Jonathan Bell had to get ready for this game, coming into the game in the fifteenth minute for an injured Yamart Gomez Andrade. They keep the clean sheet and Bell is down on the field with Michelle Ludka.
Thank you Jackson, Jonathan, congratulations on the win today. A hard fought match against Dallas. But walk me through the early on beginning of this match. Fifteenth minute, Yamar goes down. What is it like to see your teammate go down and then all of a sudden you're like, okay, no warm up boom I'm going in.
Yeah, you just.
Gotta stay ready. That's honestly, it be ready, So you don't gotta prepare to get ready. Anything can happen in these games. And in that moment, I had to just lock in really and and you know, find my rhythm in the game as a game developed.
You guys kicked off a three match homestand now with the one point or with three points, excuse me, with the win over Dallas, what will that do for the momentum of kind of the week ahead.
I think it's a good win. You know, we fought.
They gave it a really hard run, you know, for all ninety men, and you know, the thing most important thing was that we didn't give up. We kept push them. We can't push them kep knocking, you know, opportunities came. Eventually got a PK. We put it away, We held her down. We got the ones that are winky. So I think it's a good push, you know, moving into the midweek. So you know, I think we're all confident now going forward and we know what we have to do.
One of two teams in Major League Soccer that is still undefeated at home, what is it about this season?
Playing here at Loomenfield in front of these fans.
Yeah, you know it speaks valumes. We don't want to lose in front of our fans. You know, they come out all the time. They support us, whether it's cool, whether it's rainy, and you know we take brid In and we want to keep this.
As a fortress.
Love it.
Jonathan, thank you so much.
Congratulations on the big three points in the win today and coming in saving the day off the bench.
We appreciate the time.
Appreciate it.
Thank you, Jackson, back to you, Thanks Michelle, Jonathan Bell there part of the Sounders defense gets a clean sheet today, you know, one to nothing win over Dallas once again. Albert Rushnek with the penalty in the eighty sixth minute after a Dallas handball in the eighty fifth And sometimes it wasn't the prettiest of matches, but boy, we are
not going to remember that, you know, in October. We're just gonna remember that it was three points here on a beautiful, beautiful afternoon here at Luminfield in may Well.
We welcome you in fully to the postgame show.
Jackson Feltzkeleen Rowe be viewing guys as we kind of get things going. Let's just start off with the initial thoughts after what was a one nothing win today against Dallas. Kellen, it was an exciting match.
I know what.
Not many goals happened. Is an exciting match. A little disappointing in the sense of the finishing. I thought they could have done a lot better in that sense. We have some things to work on. Thankfully, they can have another game here on Wednesday. That's gonna be a fast recovery and they can kind of get those misses off their brain. But in the end, like you said, they're not gonna remember the game, the score, whatever may be,
as long as they got the three points. Coming into September October, when it really comes down to crunch time, it's you need to beat these teams that are in the middle pack or lower end of the of the standings to continue to move forward.
And they did that today.
Yeah, in a thirty four game season, and you're gonna have to manufacture some wins and find some wins. Seattle created a lot of chances. Killen's right that it was an exciting game in that regard, and then how do we end up getting the win? It's a free kick into the box and what seemed like a pretty benign or inadvertent handball, referee calls it. Albert does a great job is second PK of the AAR tucks it away
for a seventh goal, and we'll take the win. And now we got a San Diego team that thumped us, right, so focus on that going forward. And this is how we started our last three three game stint, right when we got the win on the first of three, and now we win on the first of this three, so let's keep.
Going by the way.
For Albert Rusnak there, that's his twenty fifth goal for the Seattle Sounders. He now becomes the second player in Major League Soccer history to have twenty five goals and twenty five assists with two different teams. Y had, of course, will be forty one and forty with Rayal salt Lake. He now has twenty five and way more than twenty five assists here with the Seattle Sounders. What an ex
sill to start to the year. Continuation of this year for Albert Rusnak as he scores Seattle's penalty in the eighty sixth minute to give them a one to nothing win.

Have a good earthing discussion over who should be Man of the match for the Seattle Sounders today.
Also we'll get to our play of the match might not be what you're expecting.
And then of course we'll preview San Diego coming up here at home on Wednesday. Not happy hour game. It's not your usual seven to thirty. It's a five to thirty game on Wednesday against San Diego here. So we had kind of brunch with the Sounders today. We're gonna have a happy r with the Sounders on Wednesday. We'll talk about that a little bit later on here. Kelling, I can't wait for my outfit. I'm just all I want to say.
We have brunch here and I got my you know, my Tomo Federal Way outfit on, and then you know that you've got a happy hour? Are I can't wait? Are we going corporate happy hour? Were going fun happy hour? I'm not sure yet. I'm not sure yet.

That's right, Sounders taking care of business today here at lumen Field.
That's why we always played.
Won nothing win today over FC Dallas, four year Seattle Sounders today here at Luminfield. Albert Rusnak with the penalty kick in the eighty sixth minute is what won the game for Seattle. It's start time for our Emerald Queen Casino play of the match not gonna be the penalty kick. I think I'm commandeering the choice for this and I think it's a good one. Back in the fifty seventh minute,
this match was zero zero. Dallas was gaining confidence. They were getting ready to make some big changes to give them even more confidence in their attack, and it looked like they had an amazing chance in the fifty seventh minute, but Stephan Fry said no.
Ways, all the looking voice, Romero strikes it. I want to save by Fry out of nothing, no pressure on the ball, twenty five yards at Ramiro. Then it scuffed the shot. He almost found the box in Corna. It had to be a really good save, right.
Hands boy, Stephan Frey, a great save.
Indeed the Play of the Matches presented by Emerald Quing Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest. I mean if that if that ball goes in and Fry again had to dive to his right, kind of came out of nothing, but keeps him out of the fact if if Dallas takes a one nothing lead with thirty minutes to go, they're sitting seven guys back and basically just saying we're okay,
just killing the game off defensively. Well, we talk about the quality that Stephan Fry has had for now over four hundred games here in Seattle, and he's been those guys that we almost forget how good he is because he.
Makes these saves continuously.
But once again Stephen Fry stepping up making sure that he makes the save when the Sounders need it, and he made sure that it stayed zero zero when he got the shutout for it.
I agree with all of that, and he was really on his players today because that shot, as you heard Danny Jackson's call, it was uncontested. He it was a free shot. Steph comes up with a huge save. You want your goalies to make one or two goals saving saves hopefully won a game at least and if needed right, and he did that as well. But then he was all over his teammates and it was great. At the end read Baker Whiting went right up to him because he took a ball that Steph wanted to pick up
because he wanted to kill a little more clock. And it was cute to see the young twenty year old go to the wiley old veteran who's almost double his age and just kind of say, hey, I.
Have I'm sorry, sorry, Sarah.
Yeah, but Steph, you know, that's that's why he's got foreigner games, that's why he's got the captain's band making the play, but then also really getting after his teammates on not allowing shots from Dallas at the edge of the box, because Jackson, you're right, they would have and that would have been very difficult. It would have.
Indeed, all right, let's move on to the Toyota man of the match. Albert Rusnak has the penalty. I know they named Albert Rusnak man of the match here in the stadium. I'm common during this again, and you guys can disagree or you can agree with me. Christian roll Don today for his work in the middle of the park, specifically his work on second balls, on getting in the middle of Dallas attacks, on pass it. Christian Rolldan today was an absolute iron man, a workhorse. His work defensively
and all across the midfield. For me is why I give him the Man of the match. Your local Toyota dealers are proud to present tonight's Man of the Match. I'm giving it to Christian Roldan fair Fell.
It's fair. I think Christian had a really good game. I'm just real quick.
There's an honorary captain for me, or an honorary player of the match. Was the person who caught Albert rous Neck's jersey, and I actually returned it to him because that would have been a great little souvenir.
Right the twenty fifth goal, he just won the game. It's like, I don't want to I don't.
Want to get that back to you, but he did. He gave it back to him and Albert was able to move on and play this game. He imagine going down down to ten men because Albert didn't have a jersey on.
You know, after the game, Albert did run down there and actually gave the jobs good.
Well, that's great, really cool.
Sorry before you talking about Christian really quick as the player and as the coach.
Here while we're talking about that.
As the fan, I'm like aliber he scores the penalty in the eighty six, he immediately takes his jersey off, spins it around.
Throws it into the stands.
It's it's a yellow card, and I get you want to celebrate the penalty, but I'm kind of saying it's an unnecessary yellow player.
Coach, look, but it's it's the eighty six, been a eighty seventh that he gets that goal, so there's not much time left. He hasn't been on foul trouble. He hasn't been on yellow card trouble. He hasn't been into those things. What for me as as a player, I love doing it right. It was my celebration as a kid, was taking my jersey off, put it over my head and run around like an airplane.
But you know, once that got banned or gave in the yellow card, you had to stop.
But for me, this shows the emotion and the care that he actually has to score these goals and these big moments and these big games at home in front of his fans. He is now saying, I am a sounder like that is his emotion coming out, and it's a positive emotion.
Pete, good luck, good luck with that.
Okay, fair enough, let me give you a fair enough kid. But if Brian Schmetzer let me speak on me, have a Brian Schmetzer.
I'll I'll sit down and then my last bla blah blah blah, tell me a story.
Grand don't do that. If I'm Brian Schmetzer. Brand Dad like it. And and Brian is gonna take it with a grain of salt. But if he gets to five and and Kellen's right, he's not on yellow car. He doesn't have a lot of yellow cards. But but you know, Chew did it last year and then got a second yellow and was red carded and that did not go well, right, And so I'm sure Brian just says, please don't do that,
and worries about other things. But I'll Kellen described it well, the emotion, the energy and all that, but but no, don't do that. I don't because if he does have to sit out a key game against l.
He gets up the five sugar problem all right, you go back to the good the Christian rod don man in the match.
Fair foul fair. I thought he was really good today. You know, before the game we said we'd like to see more diagonal balls because it unlocks the defense, it shifts the point of attack. Christian hit six of them today, which I've never seen him hit that many, and there was it was contagious because we end up with about nine where we changed the point of attack, and I like to see that. I think we are seeing Christian Roldan get even better. And that's a tall wild Yeah, yeah,
that's a tall thing to say. But uh, the way he moves the ball side to side, I mean, I think we saw it with Ozzie just you know, the game slows down for you at at some point, and I think you know, he had the run with the concussions, and I don't think we knew how difficult that time was for him as a player. But I think we're now seeing a guy who's really confident. And by the way, he also stripped and picked off a lot of balls today as well, so he's a bit of a destroyer.
In the middle of part I might be about to piss off some sounder fans, But I'm willing to take the risk because Christian world on the best six we've ever had.
Here.
Yes, oh that's an easy one. You're everybody loves.
Here's the thing for me is when when Dallas started, when anyone has been doing it right, when someone breaks that line in that back you know, when someone's coming out of our back line, who is the first person that usually finds a way to slow the play down. It's Christian Roldan and I will say he's learning or he's teaching, and you see Ovid now to start doing as well. Right, the duo of those two has been probably the best midfield we've had in years, if not ever.
But for me, Christian rolldon broke up plays like you said, he's stripping balls and he is the first person to slow the game down, which is what you want from a six. Defensively, if you can get in front and slow it down and allow everyone to come back, you are now in positions, you have your blocks, and it makes it a lot harder for someone to score. So any transitional moment, Christians the first one to be there, and that is a good six.
With six assists, heads leads the team yeah, with six assists, So I have a hard time disagreeing with him. Kil and played with him, and I think that gives you a bit of an edge.
And you also but thankfully you think like Christian was on the right side when I was playing, because I allowed me to be a six or a left back, so mostly the six my first year. So thank you Christian for not stealing my job right away. But no, I think, and against Ozzie, he's just a different player. Yeah, right, Ozzie was a different player, but he also played a
different time. We talk about in basketball that like you know, Lebron and Jordan and what it would have happened if it was older than the ninety if Lebron was in the ninety or Jordan was in the in the earlies.
Now it's different, it's definitely different. But Christian I think.
Has the full package, while Ozzie had, especially in the attacking piece.
I think Christian's got the full package for me.
You know, it's interesting because the obviously the fan debate of who are the greatest sounders of all time? I personally will always have right now at least Steph number one on that list for me personally. Nico is probably a very very close second. But four hundred appearances, you know, wins this twenty sixteen and all the all reasoning is side. I mean, Christian rolled on for me, he's earning his way to number three, and I mean right now being
the player that he is. I mean we once thought, Brian once thought that Christian was a better player out wide. I think we are clearly seeing Christian Roldan is best in this position, and it's because he's grown into this spot. But Christian rold On today a deserving man of the match and we're just seeing his growth continue, as you said, dud so aptly to improve and right now that partnership with him and Obed I agree. I think it's the best midfield pairing we've ever seen in Seattle.
Well, I do want to add Alan Hudson center midfielder. Before your time, probably before you guys were born, Bruce Rioch center back, Mike England center back for the Sounders, we've had some tremendous Stevie Buttle was a phenomenal, skillful, one hundred and twenty eight pound guy with great skills. So if you're talking MLS ERA and you're talking and then throw those ones in there's We've been really lucky
to see some phenomenal players come through this. But I do I think Christian's getting better, and I don't think I thought that until just thinking about it today, and then then you look and six assists and plus he's a consummate pro. I mean, Alex rolled on when I was coaching. He came into our locker room before the an Oregon State game, I think, and it was a spring game and so Alex talked to the guys about what it was and he said, I learned how to be a pro from my brother.
Sorry, we went way over that.

You know that discussion of the greatest Sounders of all time went all of those few minutes into the break. And it'll be a fun conversation that can continue on as Steph's
career continues in Christian Roldan's career continues. Fun conversation indeed, But it's time to take a look at what's ahead for the Seattle Sounders, and that's gonna be Wednesday night. It's a happy hour game here at lumen Field, not your normal seven thirty here at Luhman. It's gonna be a five thirty kickoff five thirty Providence, Swedish pre match

You can also watch the match on MLYS Season Pass on the Apple TV app and listen in Spanish language on l RA thirteen sixty and count. As Pete mentioned, it's a San Diego team that beat us three nothing down there in their house.
We're gonna be looking for revenge. We're looking for revenge, and you're looking to build on this performance. Like I said, it was an electric performance. This was a lot of energy. You saw Ryan Kent running up and down that line may making a Buba car. Looked like he still on the plane. You called it, I did. And then you have Peter Deevega who looked a little more energetic than normal. And so can you find these guys feet again and
let them run out and run out and run out? Now, can we find the final product, you know, canezous Ferira, find a way to get actually, you know, get off the mark here in Seattle and then find that goal in the back of the net.
I think it's just a little bit unlucky at the moment, but we could put him in front of goal and find the back of the net.
That's gonna be a positive and obviously this is a very good San Diego team this year.
Can you find a way to win it home.
I've been really impressed with San Diego and right now they're third in the table, so it we're fifth, we've gone from six to fifth, so it's an opportunity to climb a little bit. And more than anything, for me,
it's redemption. And then it's also it's this three week, three game in a week deal that Seattle's got a meant master to really go where they want to go for the whole year, and this would be I thought San Diego was exceptional when we played them, the way they played out of the back, the confidence that they played out of the back. I mean they were playing they were playing balls the goalkeeper along the touch line, the end line, you know, and to a player that
was standing two yards onto the field. They weren't playing through the midfield right there, and they got out of trouble. So that was a very explosive team and we owe them and that matters.
Well, we'll see what happens on Wednesday once again nine am will have the game five o'clock Providence, Swedish premat show five point thirty kickoff Happy Hour game here on Wednesday evening Sounders and San Diego FC.
