Welcome to the Sounders FC post match show. Sounders FC Sucker is brought to you by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. The Sounders FC post match Show starts now. Here's Seattle Sounders, now unbeaten in their last six matches. A zero zero draw tonight at Geodas Park here in Nashville, Tennessee. Let's head down to the field. Michelle lutkea with Read Baker Whiting. Thank you Jackson, Yes, I'm here with Read Baker Whiting,

our man of the match. Read excellent performance tonight, A hard part match, sixth overall or sixth win in a row. I should say for this squad you go home with one point. What are your overall impressions that you think of this match, of how your team played. I think it's very good. I think this is a there is a really tough place to play against a really tough team, and I think we shut them down. We

were great defensively. I don't think they got any good chances. We had a couple, we hit the bar, we had a goal called off ros side. So I think in terms of looking at the game as a whole, I think there's not much more you can do than get lucky with an off side or head the ball and inch lower. But yeah, I think it's a really complete performance from everyone, and I think this is a really

good, really good result, really good performance for everyone. Here. You mentioned the defense you in particular and absolutely beautiful performance tonight in your fifth MLS start of this season. What worked so well for you in shutting down the reigning league MVP in muck Tart tonight. I mean, I think it was a team effort, like everyone from back to front was was really good.

Our defensive shape was really good, and the intensity we played with was was part of the message we had before the game, is the intensity like the last two steps of your press. I think it was a really really good team effort to put that all together. We knew last week that knew who

would not be playing tonight because the yellow card accumulation. What was your week life leading up to this, knowing that there was the opportunity for you to get the start, did you change your preparations or focus on anything in particular? No, I mean I always prepared the same way, and I think the team and the staffs everyone help prepare We had a really good week of training and I think everyone and everyone bought into the what we're trying to do

here, and I think it paid off well. Some draws feel like a loss, some feel like a win, some just feel like a draw. You guys are headed home with a point, and regardless of that, tonight really seemed like an amazing opportunity for you guys to pick up some momentum as you look to close out the season. How will you guys use that to your benefit as you head into just three matches left in this twenty twenty three

season. And of course, on top of that having a free match week, I mean, we don't we don't have a lot of time to rest and hang out. So we just take this game a really really good performance by a team, and then we go we go Wednesday and try to try to build off that and do the same way and hopefully got a win at home. Read thank you so much for the time again, great performance tonight,

Thank you very much. Thanks. That's Michelle lut Kat down on the field of Read Baker Widing and I'll tell you already that tonight's Toyota Man of the Match is that man Read Baker Widing. Your local Toyota Dealers are proud

to present tonight's man of the match. What a game that young kid had here tonight as they shut down handymoked and here at Judas Parking, Nashville, your Sounders get that road results zero zero final between the Rave Green in their Bruce Lee Kids Today and National sc Welcome into the postgame show, Jackson felt Brad Evans peepewing here for the next half hour to break down this game.

Brad, let's just start with opening thoughts after the ninety four Yeah, I think if you're a player on this team or coach or fan, you're happy with that performance. How many times have we seen this team go away from home and kind of bunker down and just absorb so much pressure. But this was a complete performance. Yeah, you know, we talked about it in

at halftime. Was that first part of the first half they were under the gun, But then the Sounders settled into it, got a couple of chances, got more confident, and for some reason Nashville took their foot off the gas. And I think that's just a product of the Sounders putting in that extra work. And it seemed like in the second half, every bounce went

for the Sounders. Yeah, but the only reason that happens is when you're fighting for every single ball, you create your own luck, and that's through hard work. And so there was a bouncing ball. Everyone's challenging. There's a ball that might be a fifty fifty year challenging and uh, you know, like Reid said, we're in a three game week, and the Sounders left a lot on the field tonight. A lot of guys put in a lot of effort tonight. So it just shows how important this game was.

Sometimes as a player, you think, okay, one road game, whatever happens, it's fine, we got two home games in a row. But the Sounders played fantastic tonight. They lit at they left a lot on the field. It's a long flight home, but they'll be able to get their legs underneath them come winsday. I thought they had eight really good chances right

right from the beginning. There was a really good ball from Chow that Christian rolled on, didn't get on to the end of it in sixteen minutes in and and then Alex had a great shot that went right off Willis's chest. Nico had one that was just wide right, the bender with his left foot and then the goal called back. Reid Baker Widing I thought was really good today. And we're seeing him, you know. Brian said, I think this morning to us that hey, this kid's gonna be a good MLS player.

He showed that tonight Aber's goal called back, Oh right, the one all unlucky, Yeah, the one off the bar. Christian had a really good first touch and a rocket just wide ride in the goal and and then the ball over the top and one off the bar. So yeah, I think I'm with you, Brad. I think this was the best performance we've not had a loss in six games. This to me was the best most complete ninety minute performance that I think we've had so far this season, this

last six games. And yeah, you know, walking through the games, I'm mind like I'm thinking about the wins, you know. But Colorado got back in that match after sixty fifth minute. This was ninety minutes. And I mean even like defensively too. There was moments in this game where you know, Hanny Mukedar started to really take over and say, okay, I'm gonna flex my muscles at the MVP and shut him down just just absolutely gave him no space to cook. Where the game shifted for me was Jackson's tackle

in Sudebox on that week away. Yeah, he took the win right out of Nashville Sales. And as a defender, you live, you might you might never get a challenge like that in an opportunity in another game. The timing of that to say, but probably what would be a goal. I mean, he's you know, thirteen yards, that's you know, sitting on the Peak spot pretty much, and then Jackson comes in and just crunches him and doesn't give him peak. He doesn't give up a Peak challenge very much.

Credit Christian rolled On, because Christian rolled On worked his ass off to get all your fifty yards down the field to make him I forget who that was dropped the ball back, but yeah, it makes it makes him stop there, and that allows Jackson to get in position. To the momentum of the whole game shifted at that point. I think the Sounders like, all right, we're in this, We're doing all the things right we need to do. We're making that extra tackle. If Jackson doesn't give that extra effort,

it's a goal. But everyone tracked back on that play and he saved the day on on that occasion. And Jackson was fantastic tonight too. All around the field. I mean the Sounders defensively, they have to be really happy with their shape and that. But that was the pivotal moment where things started to go in the Sounders favor. And the crowd was non existent tonight. Yeah, they said twenty eight thousand, but I'm not sure about that.

Sold twenty eight thousand tickets. But yeah, a credit to the Sounders. A complete performance tonight, and like you said, Pete, opportunities to score in Nashville. I remember Steven f I touch on the ball maybe two or three times in the second half. Yeah, very indicative of the Sounders overall tonight. They'll be happy with that one. Singing jingle bills twelve shut out. Yeah, yeah, no, they it's funny. Yeah. Michelle said, it sometimes feel like a lost, sometimes feels like a win.

This one to me felt more like a win than it did a tie. I just think that we need going into the playoffs three games now, YEA, one on the road and two at home. And it's Vancouver, in LA and Saint Louis. These are all West teams. We needed that kind of performance to get that confidence. And even though it's three games in eight

days, this is a great way to start. I wasn't gonna say anything, but since you brought it up. This is a stunning stadium, thirty thousand seat stadium, as Danny was saying, it's it's the biggest soccer specific stadium in North America. It really is a beautiful, beautiful stadium. But man, like trick you where was the crowd tonight? There's a band that is right behind the goal in front of the supporter section, and the band is piped into the speaker system here in the stadium, so you know,

they they breathe the place, pipe the music in. You know, there's some fans singing. But it just wasn't it a HiPE looking It was a disappointment at frankly, just watching these fans tonight. But if you're a fan and you come here, you want to watch your team put on a good performance. And they didn't do it tonight. Look at the stats right there, it's thirteen shots, the four in favor of the Sounders, and obviously, you know Nashville had a little bit more possession, but they didn't do

anything with it. So if I'm a fan, I can't stand there for ninety minutes and just sing sing, yeah and hope. You got to give me something throughout the game, and especially in the second half, they didn't have it. So the Sounders took out the took the crowd out of the game. Credit to the sounds. You're right, that's exactly right. You

got to give the sounders credit. You know, that really flipped the last fifteen minutes of the first half, and all of a sudden you could see the quality and I think the old Sounders that we know that we're used to started to take over and dominate and and it did it silence the crowd. And you're right, the tackle, the big tackle like that, because and then we had a couple others. You know, you talk about Luke dar

going against Read Baker Whiting. He had one in the second half where Read Baker Whiting had to come from behind and poking out of bounds for corner kick. Great play and not foul, and you know it's a great play, dangerous play. Yeah, Jackson Reagan a couple of years ago was given up. P k's right and now he's not doing it. It was a great performance weft. I think we need to talk about Nico tonight. Let's take

up breaking Let's talk about Nicholas Ladero. We have a lot to get you here in the post match show zero zero Sounders get their results on the road six unbeaten more coming up next year on the postmatch show sports Radio nine fifty KJR, AM. You're listening to the Home of Sounders FCS sports Radio nine fifty KJR. Nasturll now coming transition. So it's plays the bull down to the Ryan's side, one vat one beat Baker Whites again, Honey Mukta chefl

book roaming down the middle. How's the bull in his speet? Cuts back and a great jo by Jackson Reagan. He came back, he saw the danger and he tackled Chapel. Bugger remains on the deck. Wonderful challenge by the Sea Apple sound to send it back. I mean, that is a game saving tackle from Jackson Reagan. That was as good of a goal for the Sounders, as good as a goal for the Sounders in this zero zero

draw tonight here at Judo's Park in Nashville, Tennessee. That is our Emerald Queen Casino Play of the match a breakaway from Nashville as you heard their Jackson Reagan Christian roll down, hustling their butts back and they stopped Nashville from scoring. The Play of the Match is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital over the Northwest, and we spent a few minutes. But just to wrap up back conversation, I mean that play right there, it really shifted

it. Brady mentioned the entire momentum. I was actually listening to the Nashville commentators in the second half. At the startle the second half, they were still talking about that moment and just lamenting, Oh what could have been? And then you know you can just you feel in their voices and it translated to the actions on the field. Yeah, I think as a player, I said it before, but that is a dream as a defender, right As an attacker, you want the ball that's balancing just outside the box and

you catch it on the half volley. That's what you dream of as an attacker. As a defender, that's what you dream of. A crunching tackle. You go home happy, you get the shut out. Most importantly, and you know Stephen Fries the first one to step up and say that's fantastic. Thank you, thank thank you, thank you for getting back. Yeah, no question, Yeah, it was I played with the Jeff Durgan right

now, and actually Brian Schmetzer will love this. We're playing Santos Pelee's old team and we win to one, and Schmetz scores both goals and Jeff Durgan had a tackle. The next day in the in the locker room, Bruce Rioch, coach arsenal right, this guy's been around. He says, what changed the game, and we're like, Brian's goal, first goal, second goal, there's no It was the tackle, and because at that point Santo

said, we did not come here for that. We want to and I'll tell you what, Jackson Reagan, he came all the way through and there was no qualms about you know, you didn't see any of the Nashville players pointing to the penalty spot saying hey that's penalty. It was just you're right, he was teed up and you could not make a mistake. And Jackson Reagan, you know, a couple of years ago that might have been a penalty kick. So you are right, No, Brad, you've played right

and you've seen it. That was a turning point. Well, i'll tell you. Sounders FC Soccer is presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. Let's talk about where we left off in the previous segment, which is Nicholas Ladarow because he's starting Albert russnach out tonight with the illness. If you didn't hear, Jordan Morris remained in Seattle after the birth of his child, So congratulations to Jordan in the entire Morris family. But Nicholas Ladero

starts plays the number ten spot plays what ninety minutes almost exactly. Brad, how do you think Nico did? Yeah? I thought he was a nine out of ten tonight. And there's not much more that he could have done. I mean, we already talked about he's not the player that he used to be, but this is more. Today was more Tonight was more indicative of the Nico that we've seen in the past. He controlled the pace,

he dictated tempo, He made it just about all the right passes. The service was pretty good tonight, better than I think it has been in the pass and he was motivated tonight, right and he's getting into the crowd, right. He tried to dry off the soccer ball, he threw it in, he missed it, and then you know the crowd's giving him stick, and so you know he's in it. He's feeling passionate and he should be really happy with that performance. And I think all the guys felt that around

him. And I think ed Bear plays very good with Nico actually, because ed Bear is the type of player that wants to just hold up the ball. He will say hi for Nico so that he can connect and just bounce passes off of him. A Bear makes it very predictable for Nico when when they're both out there. So I thought I thought Nico was fantastic tonight. Credit to him, because that's that's tough. Anytime you dropped from a lineup,

you give up captain c Where am I at with my contract? And I think he showed that he played for the badge tonight and that's really important. Yeah, no question, And he did what we had talked about before the game. He stayed somewhat central, right, and when he was most affective, it was because he was central, and he did serve in some really good balls, you know, he with one pass, he can change

game. He had the cross that Seattle almost got the header on to flick to flick on, and he had the shot that was honestly a foot wide maybe so, and then he You're right, it was interesting because you said to me about twenty minutes into the game, Bread he had only had maybe two touches on the ball. But then as the game went on, I'll bet he had I don't know, maybe forty touches by thirty touches by the end of it. But he started dictating everything and picking things up and picking

apart. But I'll tell you what, Seattle took the wind out of Nashville's sales today, and it was because of the way they played defensively but also on the offensive side. Absolutely, they got that big moment there as you heard that. Jackson Reagan Christian rolled on to shut down that national breakaway and sound has come away with a zero zero draw. Well, Delta Airlines is produc to doing it one soccer ball for every mile ran by Sounders se players

this season their Ray Foundations one Mile, one Ball program. We'll take a break, we'll come back and talk to you about the big week ahead because there are two home matches back at lumen Field. We'll tell you all about him next on Sports Radio nine fifty KJR. AM. You're listening to the home of Sounders FCS Sports Radio nine fifty j j R. Sounders pick up a result on the road, now unbeaten in their last six zero zero drafts

and night at Nashville. You heard our Emerald, Queen Casino play the match a few moments ago, the big tackle from Jackson Reagan to shot stop a goal, and they say, if you can dodge your wrench, you can dodge ball. And the Sounders dodged a big moment there on that potential goal, but Jackson Reagan was there just in time. Well, I'll tell you that. Right now, for the moment, Seattle's in second place in the Western Conference. They're a point above l EFC. LAFC plays Real Salt Lake tomorrow.

Situation with that game. If RSL wins, they jump to second place. If laf C wins, they jump to second place. If it's a draw, LAFC jump to second place. So after tomorrow the Sounders will be back in third. That's the situation as it stands right now. But for the moment, we get to enjoy being in second. In terms of what we have coming up for the Sounders, it is two matches, both at home this week. First up, we'll care about the first game and then

we'll worry about Saturday. On Wednesday, because the Wednesday matches we'll be hosting the LA Galaxy. It'll be a seven o'clock Providence, Swedish prematch show seven thirty kickoff. You can listen to that match over on our other station, ninety three point three KGRFM as Sounders FC Soccer goes to the FM on Wednesday, you know, so watch the match via MLS Season Pass on the Apple

tvp or l A thirteen sixty. In Spanish. Busy Week ahead, Brad, Obviously you're probably gonna see a little bit of rotation, but what do you expect for it from the club here on Wednesday in La. Yeah, that's a quick turn around, but it's one where these guys got to pick up points at home, because, like you said, it is still really

really tight and you're fighting now for positioning. You want to big of an advantage going into the final game of the season at Saint Louis that maybe that game doesn't even matter, right, If you can pick up six points in the next two, you're not gonna catch Saint Louis, but you could solidify second place at that point. So you want to give yourself a big buffer

heading into that last game. And yeah, it'd be cool if we went into Saint Louis and it's got this big occasion and we're fighting with other teams. But get the job done early so you don't have to do it. Maybe you can rest guys as you enter the playoffs. You also want playoff positioning, So it all starts on Wednesday night. These guys will be rare and to go. We'll get a couple of guys back healthy, probably back into the lineup, and so that's I think why the Sounders put so much

effort into tonight. A lot of those guys put a lot of effort in that hadn't played many minutes, knowing that they'll probably be on the bench and play as a sub on Wednesday night. You cannot look past Lay. They are in thirteenth place right now, they're eight eleven and eleven. Greg Vanny, you know, led Toronto to an MLS cup, is pulling his hair

out there. There's frustration with the fan base and all that. They've had their share of injuries, but you know, Colorado is the only team behind them, and we had a little bit of a difficult time with Colorado. We let him back in the game after you know, two zero lead, and so to end up two to one. So you can't look past La and right, I think you're right because the next one's Vancouver and that's going to be that has implications for both squads. So go get the three points

at Los Angeles at home versus Los Angeles. Man, if you can put them away early and you can get more guys on the field, that would be phenomenal for Seattle. So it's a quick turnaround, but it's Saturday, not Sunday today, Right, they'll get back, We'll get back tonight and they'll get a chance to get their legs right. So if they got if

they can get that three points, I agree with you. If they can get that and then go into Saint Louis, where it's kind of an on factor, you can't catch them, but you can stay in second, then Seattle's crazy, crazy because we're so critical of this team, the fan base is so critical of this team, and I expectations. Yeah, and look where it is right now, and there is a chance that we could end up second, hosting games in a great spot going into the playoffs. Absolutely

well, your sounders a result on the road. Here's zero zero the final here at beautiful Judas Park here in Nashville, Tennessee. It's been wonderful to be here all all over the last couple of days. Thank you to everybody from our driver Hunter you know, to get us into Nashville and the Nashville SC fan. I'm not sure if he's too happy tonight, but we sure

are leaving. Thank you to Jensen, our engineer. Here a great broadcast from Steve Zakalani, Michelle Ludka Danny Jackson, a great job, Keely Dunning keeping everything on the rails. Pete Viewing Brad Evans. My name is Jackson Felts. We appreciate you so much for listening. Uh, you know, I think it'll be you mentioned the flight home. It'll be a fun flight at home. I'm not sure if it'll be fun enough to you know, pull him me and slow dance to don't stop believing, but it will be

a positive, positive flight home to Seattle. Will be back tonight everybody, and we'll talk to you on Wednesday. We will talk to you at seven o'clock for the Provident Swedish premat show over on ninety three point three KJR FM, So we will talk to you then and for right now. CBS Sports Radio coming up next
