Welcome to the Sounders FC postmatch show. Sounders FC Sucker is brought to you by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. The Sounders FCEN post match show starts now, you know, from Chrisco Texas FC Dallas one and your Seattle Sounders one. But where we start is the very end, you know, thirty seconds is Jackson filled seago audio pete viewing here from Plastic Pub here in South Lake, Union for the postmatch show. Wonderful time here

at Plastic tonight. But where we start with this postmatch show is the very end, thirty seconds before the final whistle, I was very good, happy, you know, kind of clapping my hands for one to one, you know what, all right, we pick up a result on the road. Tough first half, unfortunate in many ways, but then you get a second half gold from Alex strolled on, fantastic assist from Red Baker widing, some better performances from a lot of people, including a read. It's very good

with a one one point on the road results. And then where we starting the postgame show is the final few moments of this match where you have a counter attack and transition coming the other way, Josh Attencio brings it up the

right side. He slides a really well positioned ball in to Jordan Morris, who's playing forward, and as we watched the play even on replay, right here, Morris takes the ball and instantly looks to knew Who on his left instead of passed, or instead of taking a shot where he even had a decent angle for what could have been the game winning goal. Pete, I'll

start with U Diego chim in two. I was very good thirty seconds before the final whistle with one one, and now I'm just angry because this is very very much could have been three points if Jordan Morris is a little bit more selfish there at the end. Well, we look at the last game Portland up two zero and then it ends up a two two tie, and so you feel like you've given away two points and this one the same. And honestly it's on that play right there. Let's let's start with that.

Well, I'm listening to what you're saying, and I'm hearing knew Who versus Jordan Morris, right and who has one goal in his career, and George Morris has ten this year, and I'd just love to see Jordan just tuck it away. You know, it's a real good ball from Intensio's a right weight and Jordan, you know, even with ten goals, he's a self selfless player at times, and sometimes you gotta be selfish. He's in the spot now because they took rue Das off to be that guy to put that

away, and you could see, you know, he hits it. Uh it gets blocked and and then five seconds later referee blows whistle and Jordan just collapses to the ground, his face down. He's got it. He knows he should have taken that. You know, next time he'll he will take that, I'm sure. But uh yeah, Seattle, you know, it probably deserved to be a one one, although although Dallas had a couple of

good chances, we did too as well. Uh Kilan's off the post in the first half was a good one, but Christian Maldon smashed one right across the goal mouth that that got you know, pinballed around a little bit. So Seattle had it's chances to tuck it away, but it probably should have ended up one one. But Seattle's got to take advantage of that. Right, and it's not that that last chance with Jordan Moore's probably a microcost him of the entire game Diego, where we just didn't step up and embrace an

opportunity and be confident and put it away. Yeah, and I agree with both of you. And I think you know, Steve was mentioning during the broadcast like the big names needs to show up. This is one of those opportunities that the big names in this case, Morris needs to finish that play right. And I think it's one of who knows it right exactly, and that's why he you know, he stayed on on the field after the he knew he had, you know, he knew that chance. And I think

he's one of those opportunities that you have to be selfish. He's you know, he's a forward. He knows how to score goals. Unto your point, Pe, you know, instead of you know, thinking about knew who you have to put that in even asked for the ball right when you know, for that movement, I need to take the shot. But I think, you know, aside of that play and I agree, it's like, you know, feels you know, like a like a loss, even though it's a tie. I think second half was way better than Yeah, yeah

that the first half. I think first half the honestly, it was a really bad first half from the entire team, and we didn't see much from from from anyone, and you know, Dallas had a few opportunities even to go, you know, to on top. But I like the I think that the reaction Christian Roldan coming back to the field to me was like the

highlight. Definitely, not only the tie, but you know, one of the most important players of the entire squad, Christian Roldan is not only because what he brings to the team, but also you know, as a human being and how well he knows all the players. It was good to see and I think that's that's a good thing that the Sounders can take from this game. And at the end of the day tie, considering the situation and

we talked about it before the match, it's still a good result. I need's still you know, getting a point in a complicated field that that it's you know, Toyota Stadium. Yeah, I think I can only imagine Jordan in the locker room right now and guys just looking at him saying, hey, be greedy. We want you to be greedy. That is a spot where he scored most of his goals right between the posts. Right. Uh's

probably Colorado Yards Colorado Western Conference Championship twenty sixteen. He scores almost that that goal from the other side. Yeah, yeah, So it's unfortunate and to boy to come in there. Had they put that away and to get three points and walk out, Seattle would have felt like they really kind of stole three points, right, because it wasn't their best performance. You're right,

second half was much better. We're going forward. We talked at halftime about what do we need to do. We need to have some penetrating balls going forward, and frankly, Jordan Morris had about two runs in the second half, both once he was up front both and maybe the last six minutes. We just need that from Jordan. That's his gonna play to your strength. So Fry didn't have too much to do in the second half, which is good. But I'll tell you what, And we're still in second, but

we're at twenty nine games. Vancouver one today they're now in the third, but they're on twenty seven games. So there's this log jam between numbers two and eight in the Western Conferences, it's still all to play for for all

of those teams. Well, and we're watching scores in terms of what else is happening in the Western Conference where LAFC just kicked things off against the LA Galaxy, a game where I mean, listen, LAFC has been not playing their top lately, but LA Galaxy they should, they should take care of business and that one. So we're watching that one to see what happens there where LAFC is currently on forty one points. We're now on forty two. LFC at forty one with the draw right now, so if they won,

they would jump Seattle Vancouver now in third place at forty one. So exactly, it's one of those things where we are just almost waiting to see these other teams catch up in games and see what happens at that moment. But right now at twenty nine points, Sounders at forty two, twenty nine games, forty two points, it's a it's a tricky situation. Really quick,

die go ahead, yeah, just quickly. I think one of the biggest concerns to me from the Sounders is that I still haven't seen a full ninety right, like a big performance on the team because you know, it's okay, it's good to have a good forty five minutes in the second half, but you need a full performance, full ninety to get the three points and to your point, like this keeps happening, then you'll start to see other teams climbing on top of the Sounders. Exactly, that's exactly right. Well,

we are late. We have a lot to get to here. In the postmat show, I'll quickly tell you two things. First, Sounders FC Soccer is presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. Also, Delta Airlines is producted only one soccer ball for every mile ran by soundsc players this season through Ray Foundations one Mile one Ball program. We're here at Flat Sick Pub right next to Ray Foundation. Great to be here tonight with

Ray Foundation. There were some wonderful giveaways tonight. Great to be here with Brad Evans and the whole Ray Foundation crew. Plastic Pub, wonderful place to take in these soccer and Sounders road matches Apple TV here on the TV. It was a great watching the Sounders tonight and a one one draw against FC Dallas and Frisco Texas. We'll continue the post match show coming up next on Sports Radio nine fifty KJR. AM. You're listening to the home of Sounders

FC, Seattle's Sports Radio nine fifty KJR. In fact, the post match show. You're live from Flat Sick Pub in Southlake Union, Jackson Fields, CEO Audio and Pete viewing. We are here breaking down a Sounders in Dallas one one draw. We'll tell you that tonight's Toyota Man of the Match is al Stroldan, the goal scorer. Your local Toyot Dealers are proud to present tonight's man of the match also our Emerald Queen Casino play the match has to

be Alex Troldon's goal. Beautiful cross from Reed Baker Whiting who took on and beat Paul Ariela Veteran, a really excellent MLS player for many years. Reed Baker Whiting takes him on on the left wing, beats him, gives him a little shove and then just a little touch, perfect pinpoint cross to the other side of the field where at the far post Alex Roldan follies it, puts it into the back of the net and got the Sounders their goal.

In the fifty seventh minute the play. The match is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest, and you know, in our in our few moments here in the segment of the post match show at Pete and Diego had love to get some comments on Reedbaker Whiting, because this is a guy who's been a right back, right winger at pretty much all the

levels. We've only seen him there. He's gotten a couple of touches in his career on the left side, who that mostly came with the United States youth national team Unite teams, and so he's played a little bit on the left. But Pete coming in this game on that left side. First half pretty rough, to be honest. Second half he looked like a much much better player, seemed to get that comfortability, and it correlated because the Sounders as a whole looked better in the second half. Yeah, the fun thing

is that cross was real good quality. It was pinpoint. It was floated perfectly in front of Alex so he could run right onto it. That's across that he can hang onto and say, Okay, I've just got to replicate that, right. We see it with Chew in a different way. Chew gets down and gets in behind and whips the ball across on the ground a lot more, but that was a good quality ball. You're right. It

took him a little bit to get into the into the game. And you know, a lot of times coaches will say, hey, get your points, connect passes. He didn't connect as many passes right off the bat. He tried one little flick that didn't quite work, and then he hit a long ball down the sideline that was over hit. So he was just a little bit unsettled. It is very good that he can go from the left back spot into the left midfield spot, that he can be one of those

kind of players that Brian Spetzer can move the lineup around. So that is a very good thing. And you know, he's just got to build off of Every minute he gets is more time for him to get more confident, no better what he can do, just like Jackson Reagan, Jackson Reagan figured out what he can and can't get away with. We don't see him having the reckless fowls that he had or over commitments that he had in the first few games of his season last year. So let's hope that's a good sign.

For Reed Baker Whiting and he's just got to continue to go. But the cross was perfect, you know, that's that's across you know in the EPL that you would expect from a quality winger. So the touch on that was perfect. Yeah. Yeah, it was properly weighted and up and over and you know, and that's not a you know, Nico hit a couple of crosses today that on free kicks not in the run of play that we're

too far right and or too short. So so that's a good ball and he's got to just say, I've got to do that every single time.

Yeah, And I agree, and I think just too out on what you said, Pete Uh, I think that Schmetzer and you know how he gave confidence, you know, to read to still play the second half, and you know, gave that opportunity considering that the first half wasn't he's best, right, and then he shows up in the second right could have stubbed him exactly right, and he you know he could, he would It would be

like a you know, a coherent decision. At the end of the day, Brian decided to left him on the field and then he you know, gave that for taking him out. Would you know that's good right because he wasn't performing in the first forty five and we we talked about it about it during the broadcast and I think it's it's good too. He could he could overcome that. And now you know we're talking about a superb assist, right,

Yeah, they kind of assist again. That's we need more of that, right, We've got to make sure that we continue to get put him in spots where he can hit those both of your soundards. It's a one one final here at Frisco Texas Toyota Stadium as the Sounders get a result on the road. And we talked about in the first segment though at final chance from Jordan Morris, that's a lasting thought that at least be in my brain when when my head hits the pillow to night and the Sounders being potentially able

to get three points. But at the end of the day, it's a result in the road. And listen to anytime you can get a point on the road, I will take it to no matter what happens. So we'll take you a break. We'll come back on the postmatch show and talk about what's next for the Sounders. It's a busy next few days ahead. We'll talk to you about all of it coming up next. I'm Sports Radio and nine fifty KJR AM listening to the home of Sounders. FC Seattle's Sports Radio

nine fifty KJR. Welcome back to Flatt Sickbob in Southlake Union. Enjoyed the Sounders match here tonight alongside Ray Foundation and many Sounder fans. Great to be here wrapping up the post match show. Following the Sounders one one draft to night in Frisco, texaskins FC Dallas. But it's time to take a look ahead at what's next for your Sounders coming up on Wednesday, as the Saunders have two matches in the next seven days. They'refore's gonna play next Saturday.

I should say no, they're actually taking it off right now. They're off next weekend, but then they're gonna be playing the following weekend in Nashville. So this game coming up Wednesday and then they get a little bit of a break. But this next Wednesday's match is gonna be in Commerce City, Colorado against the Rapids. That's gonna be a says here. Six thirty kickoff and six o'clock pre match show on Sports Radio at nine fifty kJ R, so

Saunders in Colorado face the Rapids six o'clock pre six thirty kickoff. There you can listen here probably in speech pre match show six o'clock kickoff, six thirty. Also Spanish language l Ray thirteen sixty and watch match via MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app. So, considering you don't have a match on Saturday, you know, you look at what happened here in this game. You're taking roll rydas off at the j Pete didn't go the full ninety Albert

Russknack didn't go the full ninety pete. It would say to me that it's not that Brian Schmitzer has to rotate a lot for this Wednesday game. He can keep a lot of the same top level formation and lineup and make sure these guys go out and you go get three points against what is currently as we look at the standings, and you know, yes Colorado is leading right now New England by a score of one nothing in the sixty second minutes.

But as things stand right now in the Western Conference, Colorado is last place. And it should be mentioned that yes, this Western Conference is tight right now there's only eleven points that divide second place through thirteenth place. But Colorado is then all the way down nine points below thirteenth place, in last place in fourteenth with twenty two points. This isn't a team that's in the last place just because they're close. This is a team that's in the last place.

They are far in last place. So Pete, it says to me, you don't need to rotate on Wednesday. You can go out top level formation, go get three points on the road. Yes, you can also say that. Brian Spetzer might say to a couple of guys, Hey, I need you to do something right. You know you had mentioned it, diego, Hey, you gotta show up and give us something. You gotta score goals, right. Jordan Morris was more dangerous than Raoul ruby Dias with

the two runs that he did make up front. And you know what, I apologize. I was thinking we had three games in eight days, and I kept thinking that in my mind. But you're right, so they've got to go guns a blazing on this one and give it everything. But it is about performance. I talked to Brian a while ago, a couple of days ago, and he just said, hey, that's a team with and

Robin Frasier. I think he did a great job in his four years, first two years, first two years, but this year they hadn't won a game in seventeen I think or won one game in seventeen. But what happens when and Chris Little now takes over? Right, he sounded he was with the Sounders with defiance and the Academy of yeap And so sometimes players there's a bump, and there is also they were getting close to the end of the season. Who gets to be on the team again next year, who gets

renewed, who gets traded? So they're in a spot it's dangerous when it's like that. And now they're ahead of New England in the sixty second minute something like that. So they're my goodness, they're gonna get the win here Pears tonight if they hold on for the final thirty six minutes of this twenty six minutes of this game. And that's a New England team that's number two in the East. And there's the head coach bump that you're seeing. Yes,

yeah, and that's it. And so there and they've got there's no pressure on them. There pressures on the Seattle Sounders. So cannot look past that game in any way. And and the key is to jump on them right away. We didn't do it today. Came back to bite us, uh, you know, in the Dallas games. So they've got to they

gotta go home. They're gonna get home tonight. They're gonna turn around to be on a plan on Tuesday. They're planet outs too against a team that really has nothing to play for except pride, you know, a contracts, right, and then if Chris Little can get something out of them, right, then then you in other words, these are bogey teams. You cannot look past them. Yeah, I think Tommy's gonna go back to showing up the full ninety right, And I agree with both of you. There's no

excuse against Colorado. You need to go and win the game. And also yeah, I want to see especially the Saunders again. They're still in in second place Colorado. Yeah, they don't have anything to lose. But I think it's gonna be a you know, in paper, it's it's it's a winnable game. And we saw it also, you know, we knew that the schedule. Out of the three away games, Colorado was the winnable one,

right, so I think it has to be. But also they have to to show up from minute one and show that intensity, that urgency that pe you mentioned, but for the entire game, right, not only when you're down one nil. You have to show that minute one and showing that you are also second in the conference and also that you're there to win at the MLS Cup, right to show that why Sounders, it's always competing to

to win championships. Good news, Sunders are unbeaten in their last four news three of those four her draws, so we need to turn these draws into win. Could have been at the death tonight. Didn't get the shot from Jordan Morris. Wednesday in Colorado, last place team in the Western Conference. Yeah, they have the head coach bump, but I agree with both of you. No excuses go have a darn good performance because you don't have to play on the weekend. We will talk to you on Wednesday right here.
