The Sounders FC Postmat Show starts now well.

Speaker 2

For the first time since May sixteenth of twenty twenty one, your Seattle Sounders have beaten LAFC in a regular season game.

Speaker 3

And what a blowout. It was five to two.

Speaker 2

And the man who scored the first goal, and what a goal it was Kolawney Cooza Frienzi, the University of Washington product.

Speaker 3

He's down on the field with Michelle Ludko. Thank you Jackson.

Speaker 4

First of all, congratulations your first MLS goal in your first MLS start at home. You guys get the win, a huge win, three points, first win of the season and you started all off.

Speaker 3

With your first goal.

Speaker 4

For you personally, can you put into words what all this means to you?

Speaker 3

Yeah, thank you, It's amazing.

Speaker 5

I I have been waiting for this moment for a while.

Speaker 3

We've been working so hard.

Speaker 5

I've been working so hard, so it's nice to see all the work payoff when you get that chance. It's one of those things where and everybody's been telling me, just don't just you're you're You're here for a reason. You're on the field for a reason, so just do your thing and it'll all work out.

Speaker 3

And and that's exactly what I did.

Speaker 5

I try not to not to stress too much, not to think about it too much, just to be in the moment and enjoy my teammates around me, the fans around me, the atmosphere.

Speaker 4

All of it well, and what a beautiful moment it was. What do you think a big win like this will do momentum wise for the squad before you guys hop on a plane tomorrow ahead New Mexico City.

Speaker 5

Yeah, I think it's I think it's great. You can't you can't ask for anything better. Obviously a shutout would have been nice, but there's always something to work for. Momentum wise. It's amazing where we've had so many games in the past week, and we've got so many more coming up, so you got to feed off of the ones before, and you got to feed off the momentum, so this is perfect going into it and it's a great start to the rest of the season.

Speaker 4

Clannie, thank you so much for the time. Congratulations on the win, and congratulations on what a remarkable performance from yourself.

Speaker 3

To thank you, Michelle, I appreciate it, of course.

Speaker 2

Jackson Beck to you, thanks Michelle.

Speaker 3

That's Kalani Coosa Rienzi.

Speaker 2

He scored Seattle's first in the eleventh minute we went to half one one.

Speaker 3

Then in the fifty seventh we.

Speaker 2

Have a goal from Paul Rothrock from about twenty five yards out.

Speaker 3

This is gonna be difficult figuring out our play of the match.

Speaker 2

By the way, seventy seventh minute we have Jordan Morris and how have we gone this far? In the postgame show, Jordan Morris a hardy and major congratulations, the top goal scorer now in club history, number eighty seven for JMO. In the seventy seventh minute, he went five hole on hassel. The keeper slipped it in from Paul Rothrock. Jordan went under it went between his legs for number eighty seven all time, most in club history.

Speaker 3

That made it three to one.

Speaker 2

Christian rolled on laces a ball into the lower left corner in the eighty fourth to make it four to one, and then Albert Rusnak from Georgie Manoonngo in the ninety fifth minutes to make.

Speaker 3

It five to two.

Speaker 2

A five spot on LAFC for the Sounders first MLS win of the season. Welcome into the post game show, Jackson Feltz Kellen Roe pee fewing.

Speaker 3

We are going to roll quickly through.

Speaker 2

This post game show and get as much as we can in Kellen opening thoughts on the five to two win.

Speaker 3

I mean, there's so.

Speaker 6

Many things to talk about, but I think it's a full team performance, and it was a full performance for the most of the ninety minutes, right besides that, maybe the five or ten minutes in that first half where LAFC was able to get a goal. You know, you talk about storylines. Killani with his first goal, just at his first start at home and he gets his first goal and really kind of brought this team to life. Jesus Ferrara continuing his run as being that guy who

can assist from many. He was about half field played that ball into Kilanie. So he's still trying to get to know the players, but he seems to be finding the right ways to do so. And of course you have the big storyline of Jordan Morris, who a guy who talk about resiliency, coming back from two different acls, coming back to his hometown, not going overseas to start his career, deciding to stay home.

Speaker 3

And now he's being rewarded.

Speaker 6

With the most goal scored as a Seattle sounder in club history. He's well deserving of it, and so that's another storyline. And then you get Albert Rucenck on the score sheheet again as along with Christian Roldan. So you got these guys that are coming in who are meant to have a little bit of saved legs, now get

a little bit more confidence going into Wednesday. And then for me, it's Georgie Manoongoo coming in and just lighting a fire under these guys because he was involved and he was sparky, and then he got that final assist to Albert Rucenck.

Speaker 3

Well, it's fantastic.

Speaker 7

I mean, Brian Schmeszer said yesterday when we said Kolani starting and he's may go against Bowonga, Brian said, I'll either be.

Speaker 3

A hero or a goat.

Speaker 7

So tonight he's a hero as a coach, right, and I'll tell you what I'm gonna go online right on record right now, saying I knew we were gonna win five two when I.

Speaker 3

Saw our lineup. Of course you did. I said, this is a five to two team. Right now, he said it was five too. You didn't say, who I love it you? That's crazy?

Speaker 7

Yeah, No, that one a great win, and you're right, so many great storylines.

Speaker 3

And how about this.

Speaker 7

Two weeks in a row are two favorite postgame interviews. Right last week, Georgie.

Speaker 3

What a great kid? Kilanie said all the right thing. You just kind of go, come on, I know this is.

Speaker 7

A great group of young men and it is fun to get behind him. Paul Rothrock is back right, the kid from Saint Joe's and hold On and Lake's outside. Yeah, I got a buddy who said you got to get in Saint jose and Lakes like Seattle United Product. And that are local kids getting goals and getting assists. And that was a great team effort today.

Speaker 3

Really really quick on that before you jump in. Kilani, University of.

Speaker 2

Washington, Paul capitol Hill, Jordan Mercer, Island Christian rolled On, University of Washington, Albert Rusnak, you're.

Speaker 3

One of our own anyway, Alex rolled on local.

Speaker 2

I mean the guys scored the goal Attle Local Local Local, pretty damn cool.

Speaker 3

Reagan you forgot right. Oh sorry those guys.

Speaker 6

But it's an incredible Like I said, there's the storylines on this game. Yes, we put up five goals that people are talking about. The offensive Seattle Sounders was kind of lacking the past few years, and now you're seeing with the addition the new additions.

Speaker 3

Uh.

Speaker 6

And and you know in Hazes's Freer coming in and getting that assists and helping along with that offensive strike that we had today and dominance really uh but I just love that there's a storyline in everything you do, right, Jordan getting the record, Kalani with his first goal, all being fairly local kids. Yeah, Rothrock kind of making his

way back. We talked about in the pre game how he needed to have a good game today and he definitely did so this this team is having a lot of confidence and hopefully these kind of games can push them forward and they have another quick one in Mexico is not gonna be an easy one, so keep this confidence.

Speaker 3

But you know, have a have a good time in Mexico.

Speaker 7

This game didn't take a lot of wind out of their sales. They're going to get on a plane tomorrow to go to Mexico. Rejuvenated, fired up, confident. They're going in. You couldn't have scripted to this one any better for Tuesday's game, the second leg of that match.

Speaker 3

Ready and it's working for you, just for you. I'm in postseason. Now, come on, let's rattle off a few other things.

Speaker 2

Tonight's Toyota Man of the Match scores assists. I think he needed a good game today, and boy Paul Rothrock got one. Your local Toyota dealers are proud to present today's Man of the Match. We mentioned what's coming up for the Sounders. We'll get to that in a second, but really quick, it's time for our Emerald Queen Casino Play of the match.

Speaker 3

Listen, There's so many.

Speaker 2

Goals we can choose from, but only one man stands above the rest for most goals all time in Seattle Sounders history.

Speaker 3

It's Jordan Morris.

Speaker 7

Mischa holdon just keeps possession, goes back to Danny Lava bullet his foot point Balthron now inside the h and Jdre Mars making everyone.

Speaker 3

Jona Mice strikes. Then it is past it.

Speaker 4

Jonah Morris scores is eighty seventh goal for the Soundest.

Speaker 3

And then comes the all time leading goal score up.

Speaker 2

The play of the match is presented by Emerald Quin Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest. What a moment and huge congratulations for Jordan Morris, number eighty seven, now alone all time atop the goal list in club history. All right, two matches coming up for your Sounders, one having a broadcast, one not. The next match in Mexico. The team leaves

tomorrow for Mexico City. As Michelle said, they will face cruz Azul in Leg two of the CONCACAFT Champions League Round of sixteen down in Mexico City, five point thirty on Tuesday night, five thirty Tuesday.

Speaker 3

No radio broadcast for that.

Speaker 2

Next radio broadcast will be against Saint Louis City s C that is coming up one week from today there and is going to be available on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app. You can also listen Sports Radio nine to fifty kr AM and l Ray thirteen to sixty the Providence, Swedish premat show.

Speaker 3

We'll begin at five o'clock there for Saturday.

Speaker 2

March fifteenth game against Saint Louis City SC that's away at Energizer Park in Saint Louis and gentlemen, as we kind of wrap this really quick, the momentum you can get from this game, Kellen, you need a win or you can just go away.

Speaker 3

On Rod goals.

Speaker 2

A one to one will send you through to the quarterfinals of Conquer Calf. Seems like this is a match winning five to two that can really add some momentum taking you into Tuesday in Mexico City.

Speaker 6

Absolutely, these guys, like I said, they're gonna be confidence, They're gonna be they're gonna be happy. But we have to make sure that this game isn't gonna be this This game in the cruisers will it is not gonna be the same as this LAFC game. You know, the rotation was there for both teams. It was a little bit of a lack luxer game, and we found a way to find our goals and continue to kind of lay it on.

Speaker 3

The one in Mexico City is going to be hard fought. It's going on.

Speaker 6

I'm not gonna be an easy game. The crowd's not gonna be on your side. You're traveling early, You're gonna be tired, So this is going to be a different game. You had to kind of got to grit your teeth and find a way to get a goal.

Speaker 7

It is going to be a different game, no question. The crowd's going to be different than travel and all that. But they're going in with really a lot of energy right now and feeling great about themselves. And a lot of guys got time today and got confidence today, so they're going to go in. They like playing on the road. I like that they're leaving tomorrow for a Tuesday game, so they'll get settled in and I'm really excited about that game.

Speaker 3

That and Brian Smester has options.

Speaker 7

And now now when Paul Rothrock, if he doesn't start and subs in, he's got.

Speaker 3

Confidence as well. He's got confidence.

Speaker 7

JP's got confidence. They've all today was such there was not one player had a bad game.

Speaker 6

For me, it's Jordan Morris because he's now got that off his back. He's already got the goal now, so now okay, go play free and find his you know, ten twenty, make that risks a little higher. But now he has that goal off his back, it's no longer in his mind yet.

Speaker 3

Three goals and three MLS games.
