Well after picking up a point in

a road draw in Minnesota on Sunday, your Seattle Sounders continue. They're busy week tonight and stay on the road to face Austin FC down in the heart of Texas. So welcome in to the Sounders FC Premat Show, presented by Providence Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. Jackson felts here alongside Pete Fewing, who's gonna be calling the match tonight, alongside Danny Jackson. They're gonna be coming up here in about a half hour with Sounders against Austin FC.

But Pete, we start as we usually do by taking a look back, and you know, draws on the road are usually kind of a positive occasion. You got a result, you got at least a point on the road. Now, looking back at Sunday in Minnesota, Pete both goals scored by Yama. One was a header for us, one was a header that went into our own goal. So you know, coming out of a unique different situation like that, how are you feeling coming off without one one drawn Minnesota?

Well, the team needs to get going, right, and so you go into that situation. For Gomazenratti, you're just sick. I remember Ozzy had a similar thing against the white Caps where he scored two great goals and then caused two great goals against US and we were up to nothing, and I remember him being distraught after the game, I mean inconsolable in the green

room afterwards. So this is one where Seattle yes to and it's not easy to go play at Minnesota, right, And so it's one of those where we've always had Minnesota's number, by the way, eleven, one and two. Now yeah, and so you you're hoping that that can continue. And yet in the back of your mind, you was thinking, too, it's going to end at some point. I know Adrian the coach of Minnesota, he and Brian get along great and he's a class act. But I'm sure

they hate playing the Sounders. So for Minnesota that's a that's a great result because it's not a loss, it's not a loss at home. But for Seattle that is a hard one and we're really itching for some positivity to get going. Brian knows that the players know that this is an experienced team that wants to find their rhythm and get on track. So yeah, and to you know, shoot yourself in the foot by giving up an own goal, that's maddening. I just saw one of our kids today from Seattle, UT

at an event and he is freshman year. He scored the goal of the year against Portland University of Portland Austin Sweeney. But then he also scored another great goal, a great goal, except it was against US at the University of Washington diving header. Right, he couldn't. We talked about it today and he's like, and that's eleven years ago. So it's one of those

where it's tough. It's tough to give the own goal. And you saw Yamarcomas and draw day after the final whistle and you could see the pain. I mean, you knew that, you know, he really did feel it. But at the end of the day. I think the first half the Sounders played well and you'd a lot to take away from that, leading one nothing at that point on the road. Now, this game going to be quite a bit different, and there's a lot and I mean a lot to

talk about with tonight's Sounders Austin match. So pee feeling, why don't we jump in and get to Brian Spencer's delta starting eleven. Okay, Brian Spencer, you know it's a midweek game. They've got Portland at the end of the week, so it's a little different. It's frying goal. Baker Whiting as your right back, knew who you're left back, Reagan and Ariaga your center backs. In the center of the park, JP, we'll be sitting next to who's he sitting Josh a Tencio And I thought about Josh today.

That goal that he scored a few weeks ago would be an awesome one to get Chew on the left, Ladero in the center, and then double Are on the right, and then you've got and then you've got Morris upfront, which I'm very excited about because when he's been scoring his goals, he's been right down the middle of the field. There's a lot to talking about there. I'll quickly give you Austin starting line to get stub and goal. Who

started all twenty five games for Austin this year. Matt Hedges, John Gallagher, Julio Kascanse, Nick Lima, Johann Valencia, Sebastian Jersi, their captain. There there forward, Owen Wolf, the son of head coach Josh Wolf. He starts in the midfield, Miliano Rigoni, Jossi Zard so forward and ma Memo Rodriguez, the veteran MLS journeyman for a winger, I should say to this point, and Memo Rodriguez is a guy that Austin traded for just

about thirty days ago. So that's what Austin's bringing to town, or brush should say hosting today Saunders FC down there in Austin, Texas. Let's jump back to the Sounders though, looking at the bench, because it says Pete

said, lots of rotation there. Stephen Cleveland's on the bench, Freddie Montero, a Bear, Obed Vargas, Alex Roldan, Albert Russnack, Paul Rothrock, Ral Rudiez and the goal scorer times two from last Sunday, Yamar Gomez Andrade ridiculously strong bench, Pete. We'll talk at a halftime about that strong

bench, depending on how the first forty five minutes go. But there is a lot we have to talk about regarding what the Sounders are going to be able to do tonight, at least for the first forty five minutes or so. And this lineup, let's start, and you mentioned it that they're Jordan Morris at the top of the formation, Leo Chew on the left wing. We have seen that a number of times this season, Pete, and it

has led to success more often than not. We think back to Kansas City, the four goal, four assist game, right, you think back to the big outings Jordan Morris and Chw have had together at the LA Galaxy. Listen, every team knows that these guys are fast. We have to sit back. We can't make sure they don't burn us. And yet those two

guys, when they work together consistently burned teams. You know they're going to have that conversation, right especially looking at what's on the right hand side for Seattle, they're not getting the crosses from Alex will Don, Christian wildon or even Jordan Morris, right, so it's going to be hey, get it,

I'll get through the box. I'm sure they're having that conversation. It'll be interesting too because with Baker Whiting on the right side, this might give Knew who license to go forward, whereas new who stays home Alex Roldan goes forward. But you don't want new who also to get in the way of Chew as right, and that can happen, right, You've seen that happen. So it's going to be kind of interesting to see what knew whose role

is do they stay home? The last time Seattle at Austin we started five young kids, right, and then we bought in Ruy Diaz and he scored that phenomenal Yeah, that smasher of a goal, and you kind of look when you're talking about the bench that that seems to be a tactic. So maybe maybe you know what, Honestly, I bet Knew who stays home get the shut out for the first half. But Chew is going to be very important to the game, and you know, maybe Nico Ladero pushes a little

bit higher. Brian's talked about having two four at Sometimes they've just got to keep Morris up as high up the park as possible. So that's the left

side in terms of chew coming off of air. And I think you're right the new who stays home, particularly, I think knew who stays home Because as we turn our attention to the right side of this formation, the right wing and right back spot, we see Reed Baker Whiting, a guy who has played not only at right back, where he's kind of transitioned to over the last you know, twelve months or so, but you also have Ethan Doublair who's played a lot of right back who's up on the right wing.

So two guys, Pete that are very interchangeable on that right wing that should lead to I think one whoever the right back is in that moment getting high

up the field in this case, you know, Red Baker Whiting. But then also, you know, I think it's gonna be you know, an ever changing sort of switch of who's the right back, who's the right winger, because though you're gonna see a lot of overlaps of those two players, those two guys are going to have a similar conversation, Yeah, Morris and you are going to have because they know this is in tremendous opportunity, right, and so they're gonna say, hey, listen, you know it's it's

funny how it works. Then in those conversations, I've seen those conversations, they're gonna talk about, let's make sure nothing gets down the right hand side, our side, let's make sure we are lockdown, and let's make sure we get involved, and let's go have some fun. So hopefully they have that last part, let's go have some fun. Maybe they have some confidence,

but it is a tremendous opportunity for both of those guys. You think back to the game that Seattle hosted the Portland Timbers and a couple of months ago now and where it was. I believe Red Baker Widing starting it right back or Redbake Widening starting at right winger and Cody Baker starting it right back. Two players that you know kind of you know, young guys on that right side, and they kind of held down the four, didn't let too

much get through. And I think that a game ended zero zero. But I think with this situation, potential here to sort of say, all right, this is your big chance, this for you to break through. All the attention is going to be given to Jordan on that left side, and to Knew Who and too Leo Chew guys on that right side. Go make a name for yourself, Go make a play. We have just a couple

of minutes left here in the opening segment. So the last person I want to get to in this lineup that is heavily rotated today is josh A Tencio. At Tencio goes and gets time with the Coma Defiance, scores great game their last Friday, they were at Minnesota United two. Now he gets this

chance here in the starting line up. As we talk about opportunities for young guys, Pete Josh Attensi was another of one of those guys that needs a good performance to be able to say the Brians mentor and that coaching staff give me more minutes. That's exactly right. I mean the Seahawks right, getting down to fifty three players, somebody's got to catch an eye, and Atensio has been in there and frankly, Vargus has kind of stepped in front of

him. So for Atensio, this is a great opportunity. And that's where the Tacoma Defiance is so important because you get keep your match fitness. You can have some success, you can get your confidence back, and then when you step back into the first team, you're not rusty because you've only been training. So it'll be a good one for him. And he knows too, and they all know they've got to step up. JP's got to step

up. We need goals from that guy. You know. That was a tough one to give up the for a Goomas and Entriday, to give up the score, the goal and then give up the own goal. Because we need our center backs to get goals. Chad Marshall, if he was five goals in the season, we're probably gonna get a ring at the end of the year, right And so JP the same. We need him at the edge of the box to be gold dangerous. You mentioned the Gomzon Dray goals.

It was funny doing the broadcast alongside Marcus Hannaman last Sunday and after the only next to Marcus Salmon. It's very true, but we did joke after he got the own goal. So Marcus, if he scores again, do we give him a hat trick if it's two for us and one against? What is this comment? I said, yes, absolutely, yeah, and that sort of makes sense. Let's quickly dive into the provident Swedish team health report out today. Dylan Tevis with the left hamstring strain, Kellen Row still

out with the right quad strain. Christian hold On was questionable using concussion protocol. Still waiting for him to get back to one hundred percent, but Christian old On not in the twenty man lineup of starting eleven and the bench here today and then listen, we will see and we get more news. We're gonna have an hour long post match show and we'll get Brian Schmitzer's comments after the game as well. So we are just about twenty five minutes away from

kick here at Q two Stadium in Austin, Texas to night's countdown. A kickoff is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the entertainment capital of the Northwest. We'll take a break and come back with our sharp vision upon an alec on Austin FC. That's comes up next on Sports Radio and nine fifty KJR AM, Hey Jen, sorry I'm late. I had to stop for gas. Welcome back to the Providence, Swedish prematch show Jackson Felts, Pete Fuing counting you down to kickoff from Q two Stadium in Austin, Texas, where Pete and Danny Jackson will have the call for Sounders and Austin FC coming up. We'll get to our Sunders FC players to watch here in a few minutes. We'll also

get to our keys to the match. The history with Austin, of course, the Sounders is at the second game they've played against Austin FC, as Austin came to town a few months ago, so we'll give you some info on that all before kickoff around the bottom of the hour. But let's take into our sharp vision opponent allac here on Austin FC. This is a team that's nine eleven and five this season. That's ninth place in the Western Conference

with thirty two points. They are holding on to the final playoff spot in the West right now by virtue of the wins tiebreaker. They have nine. Minnesota has eight thirty five goals scored here this season, five more than the Seattle. But Pete, we're all start Here's thirty nine goals given up for Austin FC. This is a defense that the Sounders can definitely, you know,

beat in a number of different ways tonight. I think one of the things we've seen with the Sounders is when games get going and they trend back to some of the negative things that have happened, you can feel it, right, this is a team when you give up that many goals in Austin FC, that if they give up an early goal of Seattle, they may feel it and blood in the water for the Sounders, right, Yeah,

so at Jordan Morris can score goals in bunches. You mentioned the four against Kansas City's got nine in the years, So they need to take advantage of the the lack of defending right that Austin FC have given up. And you know Terry As is the assistant coach there and he was he was at Oregon State for a long time and we connect once in a while. There's pressure on this team, right, There's pressure on every team, but they put a lot into it. They've had good support, fans have been good,

and they need to get some results. So every time they get out on this field, they're playing kind of for their their lives a little bit, right. And so if Seattle, now having said that, this isn't the most confident Seattle has been in their fifteen year journey through Major League Soccer. So it's a battle of the mind a little bit. Can Seattle come out and produce and can they put Austin on their heels. It won't surprise me

if we're a little bit more defensive with the lineup we're going with. Yeah, I know, it wouldn't surprise me either. And that's specifically right for the first half because it is a very very rotated team for Seattle. If you're just joining us, you see guys like Reid Baker, Widing and Ethan double Air and josh A Tensio who were all getting starts tonight. I'll give

you out line up here in a little bit again. But you know you mentioned blood in the water there, and I think back to ten days ago, Austin gave up six goals to Saint Louis, and yes, that's the right number. Six goals to Saint Louis. I mean that was a sort of situation where one goes in, another goes in and suddenly everything starts to just fall down like a waterfall. You can do that to this team,

yeah, exactly as you're saying that. It's that mindset, you know, here we go against if Seattle can get off you know Nico Ladero, that phenomenal goalie scored against Monterey and the in the game. If we get a free kick at the edge of the box, you know that confidence from him could be good. If Chu can get down that left hand side and get service in to George Moore. So if they can put them under it right from the beginning with just a few guys and then the rest of the guys

can stay home and defend, Seattle could find their way. Today you mentioned Terry talking about, you know, them feeling under pressure. I mean, this has been an Austin team that had such a strong campaign last year and this year it sort of has sputtered back and forth. I mean with everything that happened with Claudio Rain and they're sporting director in the off season, that

was a whole situation. If you fall the United States men's national team soccer up today, right, they still know what he's injured, right, right, His son is injured, Geo's injured. Gram Yeah, but they're still talking about it. That's a topic that won't go away. But you know, you mentioned also Nico and League Cup, and in terms of League's Cup for for what happened there with Austin FC, sort of like Seattle. They

didn't get out of the group stage. They had two losses to Mazitlan and Warez, but before the league's cup break they were four one and one in their previous six games. They were on a roll. Josh Wolf, the forty six year old head coach, had them rolling. So we will see kind of how things shake out tonight as we look at the you know the names that you're gonna hear here throughout the broadcast with Danny Jackson and Pete Fewing.

Sebastian Jurisi their captain. He's starting today. He's their leading scorer with seven goals, three assists. Jossy Zarnes on the field and MLS veteran he's played for a number of teams that we've faced over the years. He has six goals coming in this to this game. Left back John Gallagher five goals, five assists. I mean, Pete, that's that's a defender who's gonna get up the field and somebody that Seattle is gonna have to worry about when

Austin gets rolling, well, what side is he going down? Double air and Baker Whitings right, so you've got a confident guy who's not afraid to get forward going against two young guys who are making their mark today right trying to find their way to continue progressing in their professional career. I'll quickly mentioned that Daniel Prayer or they're holding midfielder who can kind of pull three pull things in the midfield. He has leads the team with six assists. He's suspended

for today. He had a red card in their game against Dallas, so he's out. Ethan Finley has four goals and four assists, and as we mentioned before, they traded recently for Mamo Rodriguez, sending Diego Fagundos back to the LA Galaxy, so one for one midfield swap there. So that's all we're looking at for Austin FC. Shifting our attension back to the Sounders though, Pete, let's get to our player to watch. Who are you looking at for Seattle tonight? I think it's Jordan Morris. I think it's Jordan

Morris because I want him to really have a great night. I just think if he can get up and down the flank on occasion, if he can get him behind, if there's a high line for Austin and he can take advantage of that a couple of balls over the top. But I want him to have fun tonight. I want him to I want him to be active. He doesn't have to post up a ton right, but he's got to

be making some diagonal runs to be slipped in runs over the top. And then I also think if he could make that run to the near post and if Chu can set him up, you know, just to get his confidence going again, because all will be right with the Sounders if Jordan Morris is getting if he gets a couple of goals tonight, it's capable, absolutely right.

We didn't actually talk about this before the break. I was thinking Morris as well, because for those exact thoughts, I'm gonna switch and say, Javier Ariaga, Yeah, this is a guy who's been injured for the last two three months. He's been out over and over and just trying to work back. He got time with the Coma Defiance last Friday. I've had a good game that he got a four to two win there. Josh a Tennessee'll scored in that game. Now getting a start with Seattle and listen, it's

very clear he's been unseated by Jackson Reagan as the other starter. But you know, not necessarily for Javey personally, but just for me looking at a guy like Javier Ariaga, how do you mentally react to everything you've gone through this year, losing your starting spot, dealing with injuries, getting time with the second team, defiance. You know, now you get your chance again for Seattle. How are you gonna How are you gonna show up and show

out tonight? Are you gonna, you know, put your head down and have an outstanding outing or you know, I wonder mentally how we're gonna see Howavier ogre because I would love to see a big outing to where he says, listen, I'm still here and I'm still a meaningful defender on this team. Well, there's a couple of points on that one. He's had a great attitude. If you've seen him at practice, he's not been moping, he's not walking out of training, he's not throwing his arms up, he's

not pointing out others mistakes. He's a good dude. He is, and he's had a great out. He's had a great character this season, and he's been enthusiastic for the team, he's been a really good team player, so that part will help him going down and playing it for defiance. A lot of people think that's a demotion. No, the smart ones know that's an opportunity to get yourself right. So and then so he's in a good mind coming in to this game, which I know that means a lot to

Brian, it means a lot to his teammates. You know, he's on a very good contract. So part two is he's playing to a keep his contract or b find a new contract elsewhere. Because you're right, Jackson Reagan has come in and done the job, and so he knows and he also knows that he needs to help this team. And if he can help this team, it's it's good all around. So I want him for the same reasons Jordan Morris to have a good game. I would love to see Ariaga

also have a good game. You know, when he first got here, he fouled a little too much, and so let's hope he's not over zealous in getting this opportunity, especially in the box. I would say yes, copy that. Well, those are our standers FC players to watch. We are just about fifteen minutes from kick at Q two Stadium in Austin, Texas to night's countdown. Pete Viewing Sounders Austin FC. We're just about ten minutes away from kickoff. What are your keys to this match? Well, don't give up a goal.

I think that's an important first half theme for the team. And then we've talked about it. Get that left side really cooking right, get get Jordan Morris really engaged. Get him in his runs. I remember Casey Kelly used to talk about if Jordan Morris could get twenty runs in a game, whether tying all balls over the top through the box, then Seattle's going to have a successful outing. So you know, it's a it's a it's gonna be

warm there, right, but and that is fine. That's a fun environment to play in when you're sweating like a dog and running all over the place. So he's got to be active and he's got to be gold dangerous. And then Nicol Ladero is going to have to pull strings as well. He and JP in the middle of the park are going to have to make sure that they dictate and they find openings, and that right hand side has got to shut it down. But if they can also get involved on the offense,

be great to see that. So all to play for it's funny. I get excited for everybody who gets to start. You look at it, you say, what a great opportunity. Yeah, right, so it certainly is for the team. You mentioned the weather in Austin, Texas. I'll give you the weather I'm seeing right now. Ninety four degrees a no precipitation, twenty four percent humidity, nine miles an hour of wind. So right now it is a very very toasty night in Austin, Texas. I was

kind of looked through the humidity right here. It's it's the lightest humidity they're going to have for the next week or so. So if there is one benefit, it's the lower lower humidity I guess than any other time here in the next week. So there's something. But it will be a very warm night tonight in Austin, Texas. Before we give you the Sounders lineup, we'll quickly tell you about the history between these two teams in MLS all the time, only five games Seattle two one and two against Austin. The one loss though,

came earlier this year. Earlier this season back at Loomin Field. It was a two to one loss there where if Ethan Finland Josie Zard scored, Freddy Montero got one back in the second half, but it wasn't enough for Seattle, falling two to one. But that was the only lost. Sounders are unbeaten playing at Q two Stadium, as we remember back to that twenty and twenty one game where the Sounders started a MLS record five teenagers and got that

one nothing win. Pete Fewling, though, looking at what the Sounders are putting out tonight, is that Delta is starting eleven for head coach Brian Schmenzer. It's the four two three one that we are used to seeing. Fry in Gold knew who You're left back, Baker, Whiting, You're right back, Ariaga and Reagan. And they they've all played, you know, we talk about Baker, Whiting and double Air. They've had enough time. This isn't their first, second, third, or fourth game. They've had enough time. They know what's expected of them. They've done a good job waiting in the wings for this, and so it's a great opportunity. Everybody knows their job tonight, there's no question about

FC Austin had a franchise best season in twenty twenty two, finishing second in the Western Conference and losing to eventual winn Us LAFC in the conference final, but twenty twenty three has

not fared quite as well. They stumble into this game off the back of two straight losses, including a six three demolition by Saint Louis and a heartbreaking last minute loss to rival FC Dallas. But they're back home in front of a raucous crowd searching for their fourth home win in a row. For the Sounders, they sit in third position but are still searching for their magical early

season form a hard fought draw against Minnesota last weekend. We'll give the team confidence to grind out results on the road and with a change starting eleven tonight, Brian Schmitzer is looking for some much needed energy for this the second game of a three game week. My name is Danny Jackson, alongside former cl University head coach Pete feuing for the call tonight. Before we get to upte, we're got to give the starting lineup again. The Delta starting eleven for

your Seattle Sounders. As you mentioned both in pregame, a couple of changes for the sound of Stephan Frey retains his position in goal, aback for Reid Baker White in coming in for Alex Roldan on the right hand side, Jackson Reagan and Haviorriaga in the middle, knew Who on the left hand side, JP alongside Josh A Tensio his last start with San Jose back on the thirty first of May twenty twenty three, So Josh gets to start, Ethan dobble

Are on the right, Nicoladero and the ten, Leo Chu on the left, and then Jordan Morris up top as the number nine, Austin FC Brad Stuv and goal of four two three one, Nick Lemo on the right, Kascantin Hedges in the middle, Gallagher on the left hand side, owen Wolf alongside Valencia in the middle and attacking three of Memo Rodriguez, Drewisi on the ten, Rigoni on the left, and then Jesse Zadis up front as the number nine. So pete as the players get set and ready to go.

In terms of what the team needs to do, it's I mean a hard slog, travel two days, rests, lots of heaters Jackson mentioned in the mid nineties, with humidity for kickoff. What did the team have to do in the first fifth minutes to get the game going. Yeah, they've got to settle in and they can't give up anything that's restarts. They've got to make sure on restarts that they are very good defensively, no unnecessary fouls.

They've got to play clean. They've got to move the ball quickly side to side, keep possession of it. They've just got to get on their rhythm and maybe shake the cobwebs out of what you just mentioned. A game over the weekend and some travel a bit of distance and they've got to find a rhythm as fast as possible, but not allowing anything, you know, on the goal side. And don't don't let Austin a team that's been down,

don't let them get any confidence in that first fifteen minutes. Well, certainly Austin have had some success three games before Leagues Cup in a row where they've got wins at home. They're looking for that fourth win in a row. But certainly for the sound as they come in grinding out results. We talked to Brian Schmitzer today we mentioned, Hey, listen, you know it's not

all doom and gloom. The team hasn't performed great, but they are still in third position, a lot to play for, got eight games plus to playoffs. All teams know that this week and Brian Schmitz is mentioned in his press's pete this week is a big week for all teams. Yeah, no question. And you almost think it's great that it's Portland at the end of the week, right because that is a game that historically has been a tremendous

rivalry, one of the best in Major League Soccer. But also this season there's been some tough moments against Portland, so you've got something to look forward to upon your return. They'll fly home late tonight after this one and then get themselves ready for that. But right now they've got to focus on can they go and steal They want the three points? You know, you talk about where the team's at in the last now nine games, three points today

would be fantastic. I'll say to FC gonna shoot from left to right as we're looking at it. Sound is in the Chaine strip of red shirts, black shorts and black socks are gonna shoot to the goal to left Austin in all mint Green tonight, we see a few empty seats. Forty eight games prior to this game was a sellout. That's an MLS record, So there'll be some late ro vals in the stadium as the ball gets going. Are Yaga knocking the ball long he's able to clear it. Jordan Morris Pete.

We talked about ruy Diaz. Bran's mentioned in a couple of his comments in the last couple of days he needs to strike as to find goals. Ruy Diaz has struggled this season based on the Way's normal high rep of goals and chances. The team just needs to take some of that pressure off that back for yeah, no question, and ruy Diez knows that Brian's not saying anything that surprises anyone in the locker room. Ruy Diaz he himself he wants to

score. When Aberar got those first two goals in the first couple of games for Seattle, you could see ruy Diaz were saying, no, no, no, this is my team. I'm the striker, so he needs to perform. Get balls in the back of the net, my headge of the ball, at his feet a recent trade, an acquisition coming in from Toronto.

Ball goes along cut out by Red Baker. WATCHI nice first touch and involvement in the game for the young right back as he clips the ball long all the way over the top ethan double as he mentioned another change in that starting eleven gets to run out on that far right hand side. The ball goes back to Stuveen launched the ball Long's the halfway line. Ball bounces through all right, Argus is gonna lay it all the way back to Stephen Fryce.

Some stability in that goal keeping position. With a couple of changes in front, the ball goes along. It's like delay in proceedings with the referee gonna get it going again and the Sounders get it down on the deck. Josh a Tensio coming in from some good play. Pete in the defiance got goals and assists lots of confidence. Young kid, I think he hopes for that opportunity tonight as he breaks free on the right hand side, knocks it

in long all the way across the Leo choo. As he collects the ball on this near side the left clects it back in little step over towards the end line, whips it in towards Jordan Morris, clips all the way over the top. We'd Baker Whiting on the fast side the right picks up the loose ball, clips it in again for the sound as evades. Leo Chio on the back post. A good crunching challenge. And those are the challenges Pete on the road we want to get in the first couple of minutes.

You know what, we just had three crosses right, and the one thing missing was just the belief that first ball from josh a Tensio, if Jordan Morris makes that run with conviction, the second one going red, Baker Whiting all the way there too, Knew who. So it's that little difference of Hey, I'm going to get on the end of this cross even though we are just entering the third minute of this game. You've got to be ready

from the beginning. But three good crosses from Seattle putting them under pressure, and I'm with you, I like to tackle from Knew who sends a message Seattle's here to play. Well gets towards Jordan Morris. He's trying to get in front, but Cascanti jumps in front, but picked up by Reid Baker whitching just inside austends half of the field is near side the fat side the

right JP alongside josh A Tensi a little stability there. We talked about JP back after his year out with his ACL definitely feels like a new signing. It's been solid this season so far. So all those small things Pete that don't get brought up in terms of assistant goals, but there's little things that's so important for central midfield play. Yeah, he can give so much confidence to the young guys just with a hand on the shoulder or just tell him

to calm down a little bit, or cheering him on. And he's good at that. He's good. He's a very very strong leader. He could wear the captain's band for this club in my opinion, Happy Arriaga middle of the field, rolls it out to Jackson. Reagan's going to start on the right hand side of the two center backs today, typically on that left hand

side. Yama dropping to the bench tonight after his two goal performance, one goal for the sound as one goal for the other one if bull gets launched long as a chance rolls over the end line, goal kick for Austin FC remains here in the fourth minute. In Austin, Texas, Austin nil,

Sound is nil. I don't mind that ball. I'd love to see us get on the end of it. It's, you know, a little bit of play side to side and then long ball over the top, just a little bit long, which frankly you can expect that from a guy who hasn't been in the starting rotation quite as much. But I do like that they're looking to spread the field and then also on occasion go for one up and over the top. Well, Bryan Schmitz a taught Pete it meets Minnesota to

the first half. They dictated possession, especially away from home. It's so difficult in MLS to dictate possession. Atlanta did that very well just a week or two ago in Seattle, coming away with that victory, and I think a lot of Neutrals would say is well deserved in terms of the performance they had. But the Sounders did so well in the first half. A little different in that second half. It's about managing temper, especially with the second

game so quickly after that Minnesota game. That's what they're looking for, isn't it. They're looking for the consistent ninety minutes of play and being able to hold onto a lead and being able to manage the clock and maybe find another goal to ease some of that pressure they're looking for the ninety minute game, Austin a left hand side, whipsit in cleared by JP outside the box,

challenged by Reed, Baker Whiting and flicks you with his head. It's going to roll out to the fast side the left for an Austin throwing quickly and by Valencia. As they started to build out about Jordan Moore was still high press just inside Austin's defensive half of the field. Cascante rolls the ball to this near side the right through Goni well defended by knew who and certainly the

stability of new who orig Yes, Oriaga you mentioned in pregame Pete. Yes, he's not played too much this season, but the confidence is there because he's got experience and certainly had the right attitude in practice. Yeah, he's already had at least six touches on the ball, moved the ball around and one of those was a long ball up and over the top. He's been

comfortable. He's played of a good ball back to Stephen Fry the right pace outside the goal to his right foot, so you can tell he has stayed engaged and let's hope he has a great night tonight. Long throw by Lima comes inside the box top of the six yard box, bounces around, eventually

clear by the Sounders. Valencia knocks it short cut out well by double As able to jump in front, but his touch as a little loose as a ball gets rolled back all the way to Stuva and the Austin goal launched it long too, this near side, the right over the head of new who's going to run out of bounds and Sounders FC socket is presented by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. As we mentioned, Sounders have struggled

in this mid season time. They started five one and one, five eight and six since, so the winless in their last six, scoring fifteen in those first seven games and only fifteen goals scored in the last nineteen games. So Pete, it's about, as you mentioned, trying to get some goals on the board. We saw the last flurry of goals was against Vancouver with that three two win away and that's the last win for the Sounders back in early July. As the ball is launched long the fast side of the right,

Whiting picks it up little one v one. This is Gallagher stepped in by Dressy. It's gonna be Ladero a little choice. So if our ball goes into double are is able to click it by referee sees it. Nothing given and it was over the challenge of Matt Hedges. The Sounders players were not necessarily pete asking for the penalty. The referee gives a goal kick remains Neil Neil now Hedges using his body. Well it's big guy versus a little bit of a smaller guy and yeah, no foul whatsoever, and just as

a good pro and it's good. It's one of those where he's also a young player. Nicol Ledero might get a little more a little second look from a referee, whereas double R might not. Brett steuba cked out in magenta purple today in the Austin goal she starts to see. Some of those fans worked their way into the same as you mentioned, forty nine games all sellouts since their introduction to MLS and last year being certainly the best season their Moless

histories and certainly, but Josh Wolfe. They had that loss early on this season, being Cclgates Violette, a Haitian team that hadn't played much, and it took them a little while to kind of shrug off the cobwebs when eight windless, and then obviously picked up that important win incl after a struggling starts the season. The MLS is a conundrum. Sometimes you lose players with national

team call ups, which is common around the world. It can be you can have a lot of fixture conjection congestion right and their rosters just aren't quite as deep, so if you start to falter and you can fall quickly Jujus who rips it in as well as the fire post well headed by new who clips it away to this near side. The Sounders left foul given by the referee was a nudge in the back by Nick Lema sent Leo true to the ground. It's gonna be a Sounders free kick about twenty five yards from the

end line. This near side the Sounders left and watching a game this past weekend when Liverpool Newcastle was a little shoving the back. It was Alexander Arnold who threw the ball away and it was an immediate yellow card. And we're starting to see that, not just in the European League try to stamp down on that time wasting, but certainly we've seen a couple in the Premier League. Certainly last game red card for Austin, and we mentioned Daniel Pereira is

out for today's game. Has been such a stable player in the center of the park for Austin this season. Yeah, it's good news for Seattle frankly that he is out for this game. You're right, and we're seeing a lot more stage time being given nine minutes of stoppage time, you know in some of these EPL games. And I think that the ball throwing away ended up in a red card later in the game. Right, a second yellow again, yep, Drowsy picks it up middle of the field, challenged by

JP. Comes this nearside the right with Regoni challenged by new who bat to Droici seven goals on the top of the box right hand corner, rolls it back out to Regoni down the line towards the end line, flicked into the box. Chartists is just evades the cross. Jackson Reagan knocks it up in

the air. Stefron Fried jumps up to collect, gathers it safely his hands, tries to get this game quickly going knocks it along to Jordan Morris headed well by hedges, but it's gonna be double Air picks up these loose ball

to Ladera or the fast side the right inside Austin territory. Back to double are Read Baker Whiting a little support from behind, but it's gonna be Ladero's gonna collect it and work the ball across the field back to JP who goes back to read Baker Whiting, starting today's game, first game that Read Baker Whiting has started since the Portland game back in early June. Neil Neil Tye the Luman fields. The ball gets not long, it's going to roll all

the way over the end line. And here in the eleventh minute it's Austin nil. Sound as nil. I'd like to see him continue that run. It's a good ball. I think a little bit more anticipation from the sounders seeing, you know, getting on the end of crosses or making the run. We're looking at Tommy Dootra and Ryan Schmatzer on the bench, and I think Tommy's asking the same thing. Keep that run going right, leave that you're going to get to the end of that ball. Good start by this

sounds fifty six percent possession and a difficult environment. As you mentioned, Austin have had a good run of things at home. It's been an up and down season so far for Austin, but certainly at home it continues to be a real stronghold for this team. You mentioned in pregame the smashing of St. Louis against Austin six goals to three just a couple of weeks ago, and then a heartbreaking loss in the ninth see seventh minute against their rival FC

Dallas in their last game. They hit the crossbar in the ninety sixth minute and the ball went down the other end of the field in almost the last kick of the game, losing that game one goal to nail. As Austin comes with Gallagher on the fast side of the left, rolls across the Rodriguez towards the end line, cuts it back on his preferred right foot, back to his left foot, well defended by rebaker Whiting. It's gonna clip off the seattle right back, gonna roll over the end line for an Austin corner

kick. The fast side the Austin left. You talked about that three two win at Vancouver, down one nothing, tied down two to one tide, then the late goal to get that Seattle Nez. That kind of grit tonight. This Austin with the corner kick, it's gonna be Regoni with his right foot. It's gonna be an In swinging corner kick with his right foot. Arm goes up, players stuck on the top of that six yard line, ball goes to the head, is flicked over the top, get to that

front post first, hes it with his head. He goes over the top of the cross but it's gonna be a sound ass goal kick. But certainly he starts to show Pete the threat that Austin FC have on conic kicks and these set pieces. Yeah, no question, You've got Hedges for sure, gets up high, just gets and gets a body and he's a big, strong physical presence that goes on frame the back post. He's in. You've got zartists as well, artists six goals this year. He's a dangerous threat

as well. When you've got a couple of guys that can put in the back of the net and Kascante that the center backs got a couple of goals both from restarts as well, So yes, Seattle has to be careful not to give away then any kind of restart, but be make sure you get a body on your opponent. Pressure from shoe on Kascance as you mentioned, two goals and four assists on the year from the center back. Good return and goals and assists. Nick Leema has it his near side the right in

front of his head coach Josh Wolfe. Bit of pressure on the head coach this year. Stumbling season after such a successfully year last year, as we mentioned, losing to LAFC around the conference final. But who was their talisman? Their number ten drew us with twenty five goals in the year last year

twenty two goals in regular season, seven assists. Signed a new long term contract in the off season and then surely thereafterwards made captain of the team and again not the return on goals this year as he was last year, but still seven goals, three assists, highest goal scorer for Austin as they come again with Gallagher is fast nearside the left, whips it in cleared eventually by Oriaga Force of Valentia top of the box try to shoot. Good pressure from

Ladero from behind as Austin pick it up. Loose ball again middle of the field, regals free. It's Drew c all the way to the near side, left cutout well by new Now he's got some space. Galloping over the halfway line. Leo Chu trying to find the ball in behind, points away he wants it ladera stripe by new Who and Pete. It goes over the end line. Well, ambitious from new Who, A little ambitious from new

Who. I think you could see that he was looking for someone to maybe make the run and then decided he'd take it upon himself to take the shot. Again. We see Tommy Dootra and Brian Spitzer. I think they would agree with our comment that maybe knew Who should have tried maybe to slip a ball in. Well, sometimes you need that smile in your face when things on going great, and knew Who certainly delivers often. Yes, well, and I love it he does gobble up space. You know, you see

him going on something like that. I'd love him to see him keep going. I was just about to say that Austin had started to get some momentum in the last couple of minutes, so or knew who to pick that pass off. Go the length of the field, shoot it a little bit wide, We'll take it. Pull goes to the fast side, the left goes out of bounce. Is this where if he puts the flag up, we'll take it. But I'd like to see him across that to find someone else.

Well knew who has been a storewood again on the left hand side, so solid, certainly for Jackson Reagan. This time Jackson, playing on the right of the two center back says balls a little loose side is going to pick up the loose ball between Jackson Reagan and JP having a little wood with each other, it's gonna be a thrown for austin the fast side the left is as an away team, Pete, those are the giveaways, the cheap giveaways you don't want to give, especially a team that's coming with the back

of three wins at home. Well, it just pins you back in your corner, gives a chance for hedges to get forward, gallery to get forward, because Kanti to get forward, you've get your you know your backs coming in and so now you're you've got a lot of bodies inside the box. Anything can happen. Long throw from Austin comes in corner with the six yard bucks cleared well by the Sounders and eventually knocked all the way back by Austin.

So the goalkeeper Stuva, standing a thirty five yards from his goal inside the defensive half the field, decides to launch it long diagonal to this near side, the right cut out well by knew who. This head goes out of bounds about thirty yards from the corner. Flex for an Austin throwing. We'll see if they'll slow it down and lod Mahold nick Lema trot's over and even at home Austin of seeing the danger they can propride from these long throwers.

This time it's gonna be the near side, the right hand side with their right back nick Lema. The towels off the ball, try to get rid of some of that dampness and something as you mentioned the heat mid nineties here with both humidity and heat. Borgo shortest time to Valencia, clips it in with his right foot, evades Oriaga goes off the shoulder of Reagan, but it's gonna trop off and go over the end line for a goal kick for the Sounders. Remains here in the seventeenth minute in Austin, Texas nine

fifty KGr am. It's Austin nil Sounders nil Pete viewing. Good for Jackson Reagan to get a body and make sure that Austin cannot get a good look and rotate all the way around, thus cutting off the ball. It's good. That's good work. We need more of that. He's got to get his body on any one of those restarts. The high press by Austin Sounds still goes short. This is knocking it long and evading that pressure. The Sounds get out really well with Ladero clips it around Matt Hedges. He goes

to so the ground makes the tackle. Mistimes the tackle Drew Fisher no card given and Pete from a refereeing standpoint and playing on eat both sides of the field, it's consistency the players won. That seems an obvious yellow card. Defender goes to ground, Ladera flicks it around the corner. I would agree Hege Hedges knew exactly what he's doing. He knew who's beat, so he just lifts the leg a little bit, takes and Niko knew what he was

doing as well. That to me, that should have been a yellow card, and it's going to present itself again. So what does the referee do the next time? Ladera knocks it back to JP the fast side the right, flicks around the corner to double Air ten yards from the end line, comes back to Ladera, strikes it well, blocked by Gallagher, Ricochet's the back of the Austin defender falls its health to the feet of Ariaga to JP to the fast side. The right with Jackson and Reagan rolls it short to

Whiting, knocks it down the line. Double Air closed down quickly by Valencia, coming out from his central midfield spot to challenge. Dobbel Air goes to ground, wins the ball. It's going to be a Sounders throwing. We read Baker Whiting. Yeah, very comfortable on the ball, isn't he good? And tight space is comfortable way up the field, yeah. Two young boys on the right hand side read Baker whitzing and double Air goes to JP. Could challenge by Valencia again, this time stands on his feet, knocks

the ball over the end line. But it's going to be a Sounders corner kick the fast side. The Sounders right be a great time for Oriaga to get a goal, or Jackson Reagan or anyone in a Sounder jersey for that matter. JP. Let's take this one with his right first be an outswinging

corner kick. As who mentioned the fast side the right. Jackson Reagan no goals in the years so far, be a great time to get his head on one of these big strong body and Brian Schmitzer talked about his desire for Jackson to be a bit more dominant in the air with his size and his frame. The ball comes in flip by Ragoni out of the box, collected by Ladera, comes all the way to the middle of the part with new who who steps comes inside, knocks it long diagle, nice pass to the

feet of Rebaker Whiting back to JP thirty yards from the end line. The right channel the far side. The right whips it into the far post, tries to find I think it was attentional come in the back posts, almost evaded the goalkeeper, found itself in the far post. It goes over the end line for a goal. Kick remains Austin Nils Sounders nil, but Pete

almost caught the goalkeeper out. Yeah, it's the tough ones for stupor because he doesn't know if it's going to drop for a Seattle Sounder defender, and so he's got to come out and be ready to come off his line and punch it out. Goes a little deep, carries a little bit, and that almost snuck into the back, almost lost his bearings, and I think he's getting a little sigh of relief. I think he lost his bearings, a little bit of the wort manner in which he spun back into the goal.

And of the Sounders good management of the ball, fifty three percent possession as we get here in the twenty first minute remaining nil nil. Okay, John Strong, one of the Sounder or one of the MLS announcers, loves unique stats. Are you ready for this one? What other father son combination has existed in Major League Soccer besides the Wolf Dad and son Bradley? There you go, nice work. This came to me. Yeah, we didn't prep for that, the people we didn't know. You're very good at this.

Thank you. Yep. I have a good step for you as well. Pete. Oh, the last time we played Austin, Yeah, the game before they came to Seattle to play and got their win. They lost one goal to nil to Dallas and they got a red card in the second half by reddis The last game before tonight was Dallas. They lost one goal to nil and Dallas and they got a red card with Pereira in the second half. You're very good and Wade Webb would be very very proud of you. Right now. Ye wait to wait, to dig, wait to find

it's good. Let's also have the ball knock it over the top Knew who again reads the game. Well, that makes me feel much better about our chances today. Preparation. Yes, as the ball goes along clips off the heels of Zada. It's been a little quiet so far as Zadas, he's been a real successful player around the league. I know you've had some experiences, I think. Yeah. He scored four goals against us on my fiftieth

birthday and the week before he scored three goals. So yes, Jazzy and I I'm quite close with his former coach, Simon Tobin when he was at Bakersfield. He is and he's a tremendous show man, very humble, hard working and he's a great teammate. Right he's at his time of the national team. He's not one that you can leave alone. He's He's a will bruined type of player. When will win us into his prime, who's Will's on the night on the bench tonight. He can score with his head,

with his feet. He's a big bodies, honest player like Jordan Morris. Won't go down unless he's actually fouled. But Jazzy's a good one. I think he's been tremendous in his career in Major League Soccer. Yeah, break out from the La Galax. He had a bit of a down couple of years, then got traded to the Crew, won an MLS Cup and then

Colorado and then finds himself in Austin. Six goals on the year, one assists as Austin have the ball in the deck thirty five yards from the end line, this near side the right channel, with were going, he goes short the nick Lemas gonna launch it in with his right foot, clips over the top of the crossbar again by Hedges. It's a low flighted ball. Hedges got in front, got his position, couldn't angle it on goal. It's gonna be a goal kick for sounds. Reiins Austin nil sounds nil.

You can learn something by the way the goalie goes to get the ball afterward. Fries very comfortable, just taking his time to go get the free kick. The goal kick started again. Seattle's in a good spot right now. Halfway through the first half. Zero zero all down the line, quickly cut out by Nick Leema finds defeat of Owen Wolf. Good feet by Ragoni, evades both Ladero and JP goes in short just to find Rodriguez falls to his

knees. Sound has come away with it. Jackson Reagan good little combination with josh A Tensio. Sounders looking comfortable in possession right now because they maintained fifty two percent on the game so far. Here in the twenty fourth minute, Austin Texas nine fifty KGr am Austin Nils Sounders nil. Jackson Reagan rolls into the feet of double air. We'll flick around the corner of it. Cut out by Austin Dressi plays it square to Ragoni thirty yards from gold no real

pressure, but eventually it's Leo Chow comes back to help. And that's something that Brian Schmitze has talked a lot about in this season. Is yes, Leo Choo's done so well offensively, but as we know, Brian likes to see both sides of the game. And there's one example of Leo Chow learning his trade, learning has craft a little bit more to experiences out on the field peat and comes back in defense and helps the team sounder. Way right,

you got you gotta go both sides of the ball. You know, I'm noticing now that I think the heat is a factor in this one. Seattle not pushing the ball up the field quite as quick. They recognize that, you know, twenty five minutes in. They've got to manage their workloads. They're not afraid to just keep the ball as much as possible. Well, this copyrighted audiocast of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced,

or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer. As Liama tries to clip it to the fast site to Gallagher finds, eventually Hedges goes into the theaterisi back to Gallagher. Another solid year for Gallagher. On the year the Irishman played his collegiate bullet and noted Dame signed in twenty twenty one, got one goal, four assists on the year, signed a long term contract in the off season. Five goals, five assists on the year for Gallagher.

As the ball goes short, just wide. He was owned wolf who found himself as he was dres found himself clear top of the box twenty yards out. T as to find that far corner goes wide of the post. It's gonna be a goalkeeper. Sounders remains nil nil. You don't want to give Dresi that kind of opportunity. He's not afraid to shoot. He hit it very very well, just about a yard or two, two fries left. He cannot have those kind of good lucks, not with seven goals reassists.

Yep. Drewsi certainly, as we mentioned last year, standout year, last year second MVP voting Best eleven All Star, Zariaga flicks it from the near side left to the far side, to the right to Jackson. Reagan finds the feet of josh A Tensio. Sounders again maintaining some good possession and

tempo. As we mentioned, the heat effectors certainly as the game goes along, but we got some star power on the bench likes A Ruy Diaz a Bear Vargas rested tonight let's show coming in for Vargas, JP retaining his position in the middle of the field. As the sound is build on the far side the right, Jackson Reagan, advanced from a center back position, looks

to try and clip it. It's the near side crossfield ball misplayed by the big center back is going to go out for an Austin throwing this near side, the right hand side. It's unfortunate. You've got good build up, good possession and then a ball split right down the middle between Chow was a little higher up the field and knew who I think the other thought the other would get the ball. So unfortunate giveaway ball in possession with Austin middle of

the field, Dreisi coming across, Stresser switched the point of attack. He finds Cascanti to his feet. Good pressure by Jordan Morris eventually drew fish of The referee gives the foil. But again Bryan Schmitze will be pleased. He talked about Morris against Minnesota, coming back doing that dirty work defensively. He highlighted that in his press or after the game, and again it shows the strength and desire for Jordan Morris, and that's you know that when you sit

behind you see you sent a forward chasing down and making those tackles. It's gonna get you going. Yeah, it does. We start from the Atlanta with the big forward upfront. Do you end up getting two goals? And it's if your forward is doing that, it gives no excuse for everyone else not to do that. Yeah. Yakimacus two goals on that game for Atlanca as they came in and got a much needed three points for a Lancer, and he did the dirty work. He did the work both on restarts.

He was inside his own box. So good for Jordan Morris. And it's not a malicious tackle he's getting stuck in. He was running hard at the very beginning, closing down Sterver the goalkeeper. Anytime a ball was played back. You want that energy, both says. On this side the right with Owen Wolf is he kind of shifts his position playing alongside Valencia. Valencia coming in, Food mentioned the suspended Perira as he just tries to get in ball

taken away. Jordan Morris the first time he's got some time and space, clicks the bull pressure by Gallagher, but is able to play it. And finally I'll choined the box of his left butt. He tries to go near post, is saved by Stub. The far post was wide and open. It decides to go near clips the side of the post. It's gonna be a goal kick Fossom, but Pete Water chance for the sounder is yeah, no question. Good for Jordan Morris, as you mentioned, getting a little

bit of room for the first time. He plays a good little ball, perfectly waited past to choo Choose, smashes it, basually get a little cheeky and go near post. Stub has a swat at it but can't touch it off the post out. That's the best chance of the game for either team. Pressure from the sound is of super inside a six yard Bucks eventually clears it. Knew who's been solid and reading the game so far, but it's Austin in possession far side, the left hand side offside given by the assistant

referee, and that will certainly send Josh Wolfe start raving bunkers. Yes, when the the outside player can see all the way along that line and he's still off side, ye, that is inexplicable for most coaches. When you are looking across the field and you're offside, it's hard to explain to a coach what has just happened. I remember my old coaches, You just lose their mind when you see all along that line. Let's step off side. Yes, the game's a matter of inches, trying to get every advantage you

can. But Austin had a good chance to break when the Sounders gave it away and sound has come away the middle of the field with Atensio, drives forward just to flick it around. Eventually finds Ladero inadvertently off the heel of Valencier goes to the far side of the right towards the end line to double a back to read Baker. Whiting, this time with his left foot,

whips it in headed clear by hedges. When he finds the feet of New this time doesn't shoot, goes to Leo Chow down the line inside the box, Ladero New providing some support. It's near side the left and left channel comes back to Ladero to New. Good patience for the Sounders working it from left back to Oria comes back to New and Pete. There's the things that Brian Schmitz will appreciate. Talks about the first half, dictating tempo. That's

when the Sounders look their best they always have against Minnesota. Works so well in the first half and again first off here in Austin fifty five percent possession, Sounders dictating tempo. Yeah, it's terrific. There's thirty minutes into the game and as you mentioned, there's ability on the bench, so there's no rush at this moment. Dara puts it in. Stuva comes out, pulls away, clashes into his defender, hedges eventually cleared by Austin, but it

wasn't comfortable by the Austin goalkeeper and the Sounders come again. The far side the right read Baker white and ball at his feet eighteen yards in the inline skips inside, gets by Zadis to Jp top of the box to ladaa middle of the field strikes it goes to the left of strou which is wide of the post. It was Chad's for Ladero from twenty five yards got his head down shot just why to the post. Goal kick also remains nil nil.

Good effort, good build up from Seattle, good patients, seven or eight passes in a row and yes, maybe a foot wide to the left of Steuber. On that last cross. Danny Steuber comes out and clatters with Hedges, and that's that's what you see from a team was given up as many goals as this team's given up, just a little bit of hesitation, lack of communication at the back. Maybe it's, you know, Hedges being somewhat new back with this team, but or to this team. So Seattle almost

takes advantage of that. With the shot from Ladero just a little bit wide, Seattle, you can feels cut a little bit of confidence tonight, Nicolodero. One goal in the air. Little lesson is is norm But nine assists on't assist away from getting six seasons with ten assists. There's any five others in MLS history. You have that record, one of them sitting on the Sounder's bench in press three time MVP by right that that man could play. We still talk about. You know, he was so good at cutting the

ball inside. You knew he was going to go left, he was coming. Couldn't do anything about it, you could not, But then he could punish you with his right foot as well. Austin in possession along that back line with Hedges, steps forward, rolls it short, by the way. Good for you, yep, doing your homework once again. I like it nick Leema and right hand side comes inside and Liama getting the start tonight. A couple of players on the Austin bench. Will Bruin, as you mentioned

in pregame on the bench for Austin finds his way in this squad. That's just such a successful time in Seattle. As we know, one of the good guys in the league, Will is and when he signed with Seattle, I know it meant a lot too. Or when he signed with with Austin, he called Brian Schmutzer to thank him for what he had done for him and that I know that meant a lot to the coach that a player would, you know, take a moment just to be show a little gratitude.

Will's Will's a great teammate, fun loving guy, great in the locker room. Two goals this year self, this team too easy too was out at the top of the books. Rodriguez tries to find it. Great save comes to RAGONI good double save again by Stephen Fry and eventually clid by JP who comes down and hooks it away for a throwing for Austin. But a good opportunity for Austin on the left corner of the box. It was Rodriguez that came in on his right foot. He trying to find that fall post.

Good save initially by step and Fry found the feet of Ragoni on the rebound and again he was step and Fry right place, right time. Double save remains nil nil Yeah, good for Stephan Fry. These are two teams that are trying to get their rhythm back, get their swagger back. Austin had such a great year last year. Now each team has had one very very dangerous chance. This may heighten things for the next ten minutes of the first

half. Nick Leema bull in his hand eighteen yards from the Nick corner flag on the right, comes in cleared by new Good, powerful defensive header, but Austin come again with Gallagher to Rodarigez rolls it out to the far sight of Jewisi, challenged by Reed, Baker, Whites and little cut ball inside or run by Owen Wolf batch of Drewisi comes in his right foot punch clear

this time by Stefan Fry the top of his six yard box. Didn't take any chances because Nick Lehmer and Choue collide, ball rolls out of bounds. Leo Choose stays on the ground we started to see a replay here again he was a little cutball by Dwisi was tizardis found. Rodriguez tries to find that far p us good save by Stefan Fry initially double save from the rebound of Ragoni and again. Even his latter years, Stefron Fried continues to pull out

big time saves for this club. Peaple, Yeah, that was a terrific one. It used his back end when all the way across his body. When a goalie makes a save and it's a little behind it, I'm always quite impressed by that. It's good saved from Stephen Fry. Well. Sounders Found the next fifty years starts now twenty twenty four. Heads to SOUNDERSFC dot com slash memberships to place your deposit today. The referee gave the foul to Oustin FC on this near right channel, but could be Rigoni and Rodriguez are two outside players on the ball, one right foot, one left foot. Rodriguez makes a little

run down the channel. Rigoni takes a couple of steps forward, both Ladero and Chew in close proximity to ball, comes you into left foot, goes all the way across. Then she collected by Stephen Fry and it was just Scante try to stand in front. But it was a sound. Is that roll it out to Read Baker watching on the fast side the right comfortable games

so far for Read Baker watching and double on that right hand side. Little lack of experience in terms of games and MLS, but certainly of stop Gallagher and Rodriguez providing any real threat on that left hand side. Certilly in transition the sound as of stem the flow of pressure from Austin as they collect the ball again and retain possession, and Pete as we get here in the thirty seventh minute remains nil nil. Branch Smesters should be satisfied with the performance of

his players so far. Yeah, a little nervy though now for the last few minutes. If you want to get to the locker room with that clean sheet. Foul here from Jackson Reagan that probably a schmescer doesn't want. And now this is a surprise Hedges. We talked about it. Hedges is the exact same thing. It felt like that was more calculated than Jackson Reagans. There's more of a mistime challenge middle of the field. Well, you said

it, you want consistency. I'm all sure if he even touched him as he puts his arms up straight away finds himself in a position, so it has certainly found. He saw JP come in front. But again it's that lack of consistency. Yes, yes, that will that will upset coaches and for Jackson Reggae. You don't want your center backs getting those cards. But all he did, he had his body there. There was nothing but to not give it to Hedges and then give it for that that's not consistent.

So I'm sure that will be brought up, not by Brian Schmitzer during the game, but or after the game for that matter, but it will be brought up with a referee similar type of found nothing given. Jordan Morris has got a chance. Cascandi tried to pull him back top of the books. Jordan Morris tries to find him. His right foot goes to his left foot, strikes a good saved mice through it just wide of that near post.

It hit the foot of Stuva. It was Jordan Morris in transition, finds the ball to his left foot, hits it low towards that far corner. Saved by the goalkeeper. But a chance for the sounder on the brake. Yeah, terrific ball from JP and good for Jordan Morris. A little quick cut Steuber hits the inside of his heel on the back foot. He was quite fortunate that almost went through the the legs of Steuber. He's gonna be

very he's gonna be very pleased that he got something on that. It wasn't full foot, it was just a heel, the back part of his heel. So and by the way, on that one right there, Kasconte pulled on Morris. That's more than certainly what Jackson Rage got the yellow card for Nicolodera of corner kick. This narside the left left foot out swinging corner kick is the big boys sit top of the six yard box. Reagan Marris making

their run towards the nippost. Bull goes to the back post. Nobody there for the sound is cleared easily by Lima to new top of the box. Sounds habit thirty five yards from gold left foot switch of play by JP. Great ball to Ladero, puts it in nicely, just evades havy Ariaga inside the box, cleared by Austin. It's like miss misplayed past by doubled doesn't cause any problems. The ball has rolled all the way back to Stephen Frying.

The sounder's goal is he launches it forward. It's gonna be a Tensio flicks it forward us he's Reagan who retains his position up the field. It's gonna be Rodriguez for Austin. Middle of the field, sent a circle, finds Zardes, shrugs off double air. The big body strength of zardis as Austin come with Gallagher pinging on that left back position today we've seen him chop and change throughout the season, right back, left back. As he clicks

it again, the fast side of the left comes back to Dress. He tries to switch the point of attack all the way across this near side the right. He does. He finds Rodriguez ball at his feet, Challenged by New and again Knew, who reads the game well playing so solid on the left hand side so far. He knocks the ball down the line, Cascanti steps in front and rolls it all the way back to Steward. Jordan Morris

making some inroads. Closing the ball down, forces the goalkeeper to knock it long and the Sounders this time come away with it with Ladero and we'll see how long Morris is going to play. Big game coming up on Saturday, of course, against Portland. Third game between those two rivals this season. It's the four one win for Portland down in Portland and Neil Neil back in

early June at lumen Field. They can tell you he'll want to go ninety minutes when they were when during COVID Jordan Morris, they were trying to manage his minutes. One of his frustrations Jordan was he went to coach, stand, I can play more. He's gonna want to stay on that field for ninety minutes and he's getting good opportunities tonight, so he wants to make sure

he can put one away and get that tenth goal of the year. Challenged by Ariaga, wins it well as the sound has come again inside the Austin attacking half, of the field. Bull into the feet of Doublas. Coming off the Ryan's side, tries to find read Baker, Whites and good challenge by Austin, but all they can do is roll the board out of play with Ragoni, who switched from this near side right to the fast side the

left. As the Sounders get at the ball in their hands for a throwing fifteen yards or so from the corner Flaggers ball gets thrown all the way back to Jackson Reagan, who flicks it to Oriaga. Comfortable night so far for Oriaga, the sound of the ball at his feet nice ball into Ladera tries

to flick it around the corner. Eventually Leo Chu collects it. Sounds by Rodriguez, a little bit of pressure from Austin, but the Sounder is again looking comfortable in possession with JP middle of the field, tries to find the feet of Ladero one well by Valencio flicks it over the top, finds Drewisi tries to knock it over Jackson Reagan collects the ball little cut back with his left foot, finds Rodriguez middle of the field, new sees the danger steps

well, wins the ball and the Sounders come away with it again to get here in the forty second minute in Austin, Texas, Austin Nail Sounders nail good first half of the Sounders as they come again the fast side of the right. We read Baker Whites and got some time and space double air providing some support as Whiting shifts it to this near side the left. Leo two clicks off his chest, tries to knock it around the corner of Lima, but Lima reads it well, steps on the ball. Leo Chew and both

Ladero nothing given by the referreyes. Eventually this Drew Fisher eventually gives a free kick. You're true little dissatisfied both he and Brian Schmitzer. It's good pressure from the Sounders left winger. It's gonna be a free kick for Austin FC. But August is Black Business Month, support black owned businesses all month long. Visit intentionalists dot com to find a business near you. Let's get into the last few minutes of this first half. Sounders continue to look good in

possession a couple of chances for Austin. Good saves by steffron Fry, but equally Pete Sounds had a couple of chances on the break. Yeah, I think both coaches will walk into this locker room saying, Okay, it's a forty five minute game. We've had chances, We've given a couple away. Stuber has had a couple of good saves. Fry has had a save as well that it has kept it out of the back of the net. And Seattle I like it. They've been good down the right and down the left

ball Chris active ball, quickly thrown in. Jordan Morris has got it left corner of the box, comes inside the box, double air, tries to make a quick run. No real support for Jordan Morris is a quick thrower by Attensio. This time it's Ladera just to whip it in, headed clear by Cascanti, but all he can do is knock it over the end line for another Sounders corner kick, the third corner kick of the night. Of

this first half, she's a fourth corner kick of the night. Well, what a great time to put one in the back of the net right now. Ladera goes short to new nice whip balling. He's got some good shape on the balls. Tries to go to that far post flicked by Jackson, Reagan is able to collect his own header on the right corner. It goes

back to read Baker Whites and takes a big touch back to Jackson. Reagan finds Rory Aaga twenty five yards from Gold, comes on his preferred right foot, had to read Baker Whiting, whips the ball in middle of the box, hits the knee of Zartists and drew. Official. Referee's gonna give Sounders another corner kick, the fifth of this first half. This near side the left remains. Austin nil, Sounders nil. Pe fwing. I like what

Seattle's doing, and they been good on possession. They've been changing the point of attack. They look somewhat Gold dangerous and it be a fantastic time to get one again. Right now with this fifth corner kick, they're putting some pressure on Austin. Keep it in this end Danny for the remainder of this half. Yet we will see how much stoppage time the referee gives, but not too much stoppage so far in this game. Lee or Tue to go

to the deck. His JP's gonna played him with his right foot in swinging corner kick easily collected by Stupor and we'll disappointing from centre midfield player and as we guest, no time given by the referee. The extra mile stoppage time is zero for this game. As Brian Schmitza trudges off the locker room, but Austin nil Sound is nil. Pete your final thoughts before going to the

break, Well, I like where we're at. I think if you had said, hey, you're gonna be zero zero at halftime, You're gonna have some rhythm, You're going to get opportunities, you're gonna defend well, rd's gonna come up with some saves. You're gonna get all your players into the game rhythm wise. I think I think you'd take it. We'll take a short break, Jackson fels. We'll be back after the break to break it all down at halftime. Sounder Zep's now time for the Sounders FC halftime show zero zero after forty five minutes at Q two Stadium in Austin, Texas. Your Sounders Nothing, Austin Nothing and a first half that head coach Brian Schmitzer should probably be pretty happy with overall starting a very rotated lineup coming in here to Austin. Getting the starts from Ethan Double Air at the right back spot. Read Baker Whiting, Redbecky

Ray Whiting and Ethan Double are both on that right side. Josh Atensio in the middle of the park. They're sitting there, Apollo Javey or are Yaga in there. Lots of rotation from head coach Brian Schmenzer. And defensively the Sounders have played well. Stephen Fry came up with a big double save in the thirty fourth minute, and then offensively, I think, you know, Pete Fewing said it there in the last few minutes of the first half,

is that we're seeing good movement down both sides. Jordan Morris has broken away for a couple of chances, and you know, as we kind of look back, you know, on the game timeline through this first half, there's

a few moments where the Sounders absolutely could have gotten that goal. We see, you know, Leo Choo shooting a ball off the post in the twenty nine minute, a great ball from Jordan Morris on that setup, and you know, on that play itself, Chew had the entire far post, pretty much the entire other side of the goal wide open for him, but he

chooses to go near post and unfortunately it goes off of it. And then later on and you know, probably the best chance overall was Jordan Morris's breakaway in the thirty eighth minute where he gets space, creates some space, goes

on to his left foot, that shot is saved. The interesting thing about that shot is that it was a kick saved by Brad Steuver and the way it angled off of Steuver's foot, it could have verily easily gone into the back of the net as what would have maybe technically an own goal, but might have gone in any way anyway. But either way that was That is a ball that after that deflection could have easily gone in for the Sounder's goal.

But it is zero zero. Couple headers from Austin, you know, Matt Hedges got his head on a couple of them that went above the bar. But overall the Sounders have done well defensively and they've done well offensively well. The Sunder's e saw he is presented by Providence, Swedish official Healthcare partner

to five. Also on target two to one. But Seattle, I've possessed to Austin. I think you are in the right positions of out possessing Austin fifty five to forty five, but specifically in the right places. It wasn't just holding the ball on their own half of the field. Sounders did well passing out your see Sounders are better by just a single percentage point eighty three to eighty two corners. Sounders are easily leading that one four to one,

So I think we're seeing some good things. Fouls are right now seven into two. I think that Drew Fisher, the referee, I think he has maybe an idea coming into this game that he can only give yellow cards to players who are wearing yellow very interesting situation where Jackson Reagan gets a yellow card for something that Matt Hedges did two minutes prior. Also Jordan Morris on that

attack in the thirty eighth minute was easily pulled back. No yellow for that, So I would ask Drew Fisher, what do you do with those yellows, sir as for the Sounders bench in terms of what they have available to bring off the bench today. For head coach Brian Spencer, there is a

lot of weapons. Stephen Cleveland is your backup goalkeeper, but Freddie Montero, a Bear, Alex Roldan Ohbed Vargas, Albert Russneck, Paul rothrock Yamargomezandrade and Rawle Rudy As all of them available for head coach Brian Schmenzer, so it'll be interesting to see what choices he makes, especially here at the forty five

minute mark. I would not be surprised if we saw one two multiple changes here from head coach Brian Schmencer at the half, considering that big Portland match coming up on Saturday, wanting to make sure his top players are available to go the full ninety against Poland on Saturday. So we will throw things back out to Danny Jackson and Pete Feuling Q two Stadium in Austin, Texas will see what changes are coming for head coach Brian Spencer. It's zero zero.

As the players start to get back out on the field, the fans up and down and they're standing room only as you mentioned, sellouts forty nine games straight for Austin FC, an MLS record is Albert Rosenack makes his way out in the field. We expect to see some subs at halftime or shortly thereafter. From Brian Schmitzer, you mentioned third game, three games in a week's second game of the three games spell the last game coming up on Saturday evening

against Portland of course here in Seattle. So let's get the lineup for the Sounders. We expect to see a couple of changes. We're just going to kind of wait and see what those changes are. Austin don't look like they any changes, but Brad steubin goal are back for of Lima, Cascante, Hedges and Gallagher own Wolf and Valencia in the middle of the park and attacking

three of Roderiguez, Jiuici and Regoni and then Zardes up front. The Sounders, well, they made one change at halftime, Jp coming off the field

bully in preparation for that big Portland game. It's gonna be Rosneck is gonna play alongside Josh Attensio or so. The lineup as we see it right now, Stefron frying goal aback for read Baker, Whiting, Reagan alongside Oriago in the middle of new on the left hand side, two defensive midfield players Josh Atensio and Rosneck and attacking three of double air on the right, Ladero in

the ten lee or children left and Jordan Morris up front. As Drew Fisher gets us going, ball gets launched forward by Ariaga, flicks up in the air by Memo Rodriguez. It's gonna be Matt Hedges. He's going to clean things up, hooks it long over his shoulder. Challenge by Zardis flailing elbow through Fish is gonna call it free kick for the sound and we'll see if he takes another look at this, Pete. But yellow card for Zardis as he leaned in with his left elbow, caught Havy on the temple, stays

on the ground. But Pete, what's Brian Schmitzer. As we get this second half going, it's been a solid showing in the first half. We're trying to think of the right descriptive word of what that first half was. But what's Brian Schmitza is saying to his team a halftime. Well, I think he's happy with him, and I think that may have kept a few of the guys on the field double Air Baker Whiting. I think he said, hey, you guys are doing a good job. Let's go out and

continue this and let's see. You know. I don't think he says, hey, give us fifteen more minutes. I think he wouldn't say that to him. I think that would imply they were coming. I think I think he's gonna be happy with Intensio. The fact that he takes JP off versus Intensio is a compliment to Josh as well. And I could when I saw Risne going out on the field as a coach, sometimes you look at a guy like that and say, hey, listen, Albert, get us a goal, please, we need a goal. Go get us a goal.

He could plant that seed. And Risneck's the kind of guy who has the capabilities. We know that he hasn't done it as much as we'd like him in a Seattle sound or uniform, so so I think it's about of confidence for how the first half's gone. I think he's also made sure that everyone stays sharp, that they cannot switch off at any moment in this game. Well, as you just said Rose Night before coming into the sound is in twenty twenty two, is it RSL in twenty twenty one? Eleven goals,

eleven assists in twenty twenty one for ourselves? The bull goes down the line, he assistant refre he puts his flag up. Good foul taken. It's a foul from Gallagher on double It's a sound is gonna come out early in the second half for the chance to put the bull in the box and puts Thuva under pressure. I don't I don't think that Josh Wolfe's not happy about that call. I think it was Gallagher just you know, got his body

on the right spot cut him off from going forward. It's interesting, though, Fisher gives the yellow card right away, and it almost feels like maybe he looked at the replace and said, I might owe Seattle a yellow card against Austin. It's gonna be ladera bull at his feet on this near side, the right left foot in swinging free kick about sixteen yards from the end line bull gut switch to that nick post and this is the back of the

net and it's Jordan Morris with his head. It was flicked in by Jordan Morris on the nick post. Ladero put the ball in with his left foot and they found the nick corner. Beats Throuva and the sound has got one gold to nil Hey in Austin, perfect perfect start. You could see as Nico Ladero was approaching the ball that he was going to hit it hard and almost felt, you know, we needs something and it's one of those where he just wants to make sure he gets it on frame. Put Stubor under

that pressure. Jordan Morris with a deft right footed touch, flick on, really perfect touch from Jordan Morris that goes in anywhere in the world right off of Stubar's chest. With a terrific goal from Jordan Morris and well deserved. Good for Jordan. You gotta watch that replay sports fans when you're when you're looking on line, because as a great goal, a great restart from Nicol

Ladarrow well ten goals on the year, but Jordan Morris. Brian Schmitzer talked about it certainly in his presses this week that he wanted his force to get some goals on the board relieve some of that pressure from the back form the goalkeeper is true, Fisher's just gonna wait. Potentially a look at offside. Did Jordan Morris get a step early? That would be unfortunate. I don't think so. I think Jordan Morris came into the frame after the ball was

hit. We haven't seen the replay yet, but here it comes Jordan Morris. Yeah, it could be half a yard, depends when they get a pull him back. Looks as he's leaning forward his left shoulder, he's past the line of Austin and from the naked eye, Pete, potentially half a yard off side. Yeah, but really good finish for Jordan. And we would think if Jordan may come off at half time. I'll just wait and

see if var That'd be a tough one. T school for Jordan, Tenth assists for Nico would need to go back to nines for each of them. Yeah. Jordan Morris looking a little anxiously goal given and Pete, I tell you I don't sometimes I'll take it. We talk about yellow cards and that kind of went against the Sounders. We'll take that that's a good trade. That's a great trade, thank you, mister Fisher. Yeah yeah, but you know what I mean. We were looking at a different angle than they

may have been looking at. But it did look as if Jordan's left arm. I'd love to hear what Josh Wolfe is saying on the sideline right now. Bull goes down the line, so it tries to collect it, it goes off the end line, and it's gonna be in this fifty first minute here in Austin, Texas, is Austin nil sound as one. And in this five game, now six game matchup between these rivals, the team that scores first has not lost a game. Let's keep that going. Let's keep

that going. That's a terrific start for Seattle. And you know, i'd like the Vancouver game at Vancouver, coming from behind twice and getting a late goal, the third goal to go ahead. This would be a terrific win and the right momentum and the three points necessary. But there's a lot to play, Danny. We've got another forty minutes before we get to that spot. But it'd be a great way for Seattle to come into the port last. They say, Pete, you earn your luck with the aar I think

they're trying to eliminate luck for us. Certainly it felt like on the naked eyes you mentioned, from the angle we were looking at it, it looked like he was half a yard off side. But that's what great fords need to do, right, They need to take that advantage and sometimes you get him, sometimes you don't. This time, Jordan Morris does get it and it's his tenth goal in the year. As Austin come to try and find

that tying goal. As the ball gets rolled down the line, ohen Wolf tries to challenge good play by attens You're coming out from that central spot to close the ball down. Tracks the run of Wolf down the right channel for Austin and it's going to roll out free. Austin thrown on the fast side the ride about eight yards or so from the corner flag, lima ball in

his hand. We've seen a couple of long throws from Austin as he gets lined up to launch another one in as Hedges and Cascanti sit on the nick corner of the six yard box, ball comes in good heeader away by Atensio finds the feet of Leo Chu gets hacked down by Valencia. Looks like potentially another yellow card given by Drew Fisher. We'll cynical challenge middle of the park. Good playboy Leo Chus be able to find quickly. Jordan Morris gets pulled

down. It's gonna be a foul for the sound, isn't pete the sound? As we'll take that old day long looks a couple of seconds off the clock. Yes, disrupts rhythm, gets the numbers forward for Seattle. It seems as if Fisher may have looked at some highlights and said, Okay, I'm gonna call things a little bit tighter in the second half. But as we see the replays, no question it was a good call. Lencia definitely catch his shoes foot, so he's done the right made the right decision there.

It was a great goal from Jordan Morris and a great serve in from Nico Ladero. He really could tell that he was gonna not just float it in but try to put it on frame, make stupor make the save, and Morris believed it was going to get to the near post, got there and from a very difficult angle, got a good right foot on the ball and steered it into the net. So it's a terrific goal for the start

of the second half. It would be great for Seattle Danny to get another goal well for the sound Is. Certainly we've seen both teams deliver decent balls and to the box from set pieces nice and flat. Got some good whip this time. He was an in swinger by Ladero, as we mentioned, gets his tenthesis on his season, the sixth season of getting ten assists. As we mentioned in the first half, one of only five of the players

in MLS to do that, So congratulations to Ladero. As ball given away cheaply by Fry top of the box to Rigoni, comes on his left foot top of the box, strikes it over the top seven. Fry puts his hand to his chest said, hey, my bad. He was a strike from Rigoni top of the box. Goes over for a goal kick for the Sounders. The giveaway by Fry for the Sounders get a goal kick and they get going quickly. Ball over to the middle. It's more stressed, let

it go. Picks up by Duris. He finds Zardis inside the box. Good defending by Riaga, takes it off the feet of Zartis finds the feet of Doublair see hot now in transition as Valentia comes across, collects it off a and your rolls out for a throwing for the Sounders, and it feels like, yes, we need to keep the temper going, Yes we need to find a second goal. But there are certain times in the game where you can put your foot on the ball, take your time, goal kicks,

throwings. Let's take a couple of extra seconds, no question. And you've talked about like a moment ago, and I think we've just dodged a couple of little bullets right there. Fry giving the ball away thirty yards away the lens. You're coming in and get an opportunity, and Fry taking responsibility for it. But they've got to settle down right now. We've seen a

couple of times the Sounders have seen some high press from Austin. There's a zartist comes top of the box, and they've still continue to try and play out at the back. Yeah, but sometimes maybe just put your foot on behind it, knock it long, get your back four up and defend in the Austin half of the field. But the Sounders now have a ball at their feet and nice little ball down the line, cut out well by hedges. The Sounders will take that, so throwing because the ball gets launched over

the bench for the Sounders. Yeah, Monterey, right, Monterey, Dilly dallion with the ball at the edge of the box a couple of times with the two goal leader, letting them get back in the game. Right now, Seattle has to lock it down, get it forward, keep possession of the ball, manage the clock, as you say, and not get too casual, Austin in transition. Now this near side to left Drewsi overlapping run by Gallagher. Jersi finds Gallagher five yards from the inline, flicks him his

right foot far post. Regarding great save by Stephen Fry. Regard is asking the assistant referee to help him out. As Josh Atensio on the break. This near side to Jordan Morris because he comes in on his left foot, finds Albert Rosenack thirty yards from gold no real pressure because it gets towards the top of the boxes. Leo Chu tries to find the ball on the six

yard box that's deflected behind. It's gonna be a corner kick for the Sounds, but again stephfriend fire we saw it in the first half and again comes up trumps with a wonderful save with his left hand and close the ball out of the goal right on the goal line to prevent an Austin equalizer. What

a terrific say. We saw it from the Liverpool keeper over the weekend Allison Yes, Friday just getting a big paw on the ball and Zartist wanting it to be reviewed it thinking it's in to be interesting to see if they do take a moment now that there's a stoppage to look at it. Well,

the question is always and va it has to be undisputed. The evidence to show they went over the goal line has to be such that it is an obvious change from the referee as Austin plead their kar pleading are come on, this is a slight better angle as the ball goes just and we'll see. I mean that's an angle that showcases itself. Pete that it looks over the line, but it's not an angle along the line and the way that he clawed it out, the whole ball has to be over that goal into coords

to BA goal. Yes. Yeah, and the and the linesman who had a pretty good angle on it was motionless. Referee blows's whistle. Game keeps going. The look from VR was inconclusive. I wonder if Adrian Hanno is in charge of VR right now. We're watching Drew Fisher. Now he blues whistle to get the game going. Now he's stopping the game and we'll just see what he's motioning. Took another listen. The ball comes in, we'll

take it top of the box. Read Baker. Whiting flicks the balling cleared well by Cascante, but it comes back to Whiting top of the box. Rodriguez, who went down, could tackle from the Austin left winger, but it's gonna be a Sounders throwing deep in the Austin half of the field. It's nearside the right would read Baker Whiting ball in his hands. Laderos shows Morrison the box double air, providing some support from behind, but it goes

into Jordan Morris us over the end line for a goal kick. Here in the fifty ninth minute, Austin Neil Sounders won the ball gets launched long. Sounders looking comfortable in the back in this second half, got some big time players to come off the bench if they need it. So far, the eleven on the field of Standing Strong got their goal in this second half.

That's the twentieth goal in the second half for the Sounders this season. Because we see another replay of Stephan fry Pete, certainly from this angler looks like it's over. I think that will. I think it's the angle on the line that you need. Yeah, I think that would have been inconclusive either way. Both angles for us made it look in Austin's favor, but they've got the right angle. You're got to trust the process. Leo Child left

hand side gets shrugged off the ball by Cascante. Nothing given by Drew Fisher as he runs over to Leo Chew and tells him in no uncertain terms, no fail, it's gonna be Memo Rodriguez right in front of Josh Wolf on the Austin bench, he cuts the ball back. The recent trade from Elle Galaxy for Diego for Gundis was Austin now come again. Goes from left to

center to the far side the right. The sound as FC socket is presented by Provident, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC Austin Nil Sounders won here for goal from Jordan Morris's tenth goal on the year for Jordan Morris, the All Star Little starved their goal since his flurry in the first half of the season's Austin come with drew easy sidesteps double a little bit too easy top of the box Gallagher, this right foot finds that far post again, just evades

Rigoni. He's found the head a couple of times this game. First half. It was a save, the second of two saves for Fry and then certainly just a few minutes ago, is a wonderful save on that back post. And let's see that reply. Galaga tries to find the fall posts and the reging it just evades and goes over the goal line. Goal kicks Sounders remains Austin Nill sound as one pefewing. I would love to see another goal for Seattle. They're comfortable at the back right now. Austin has created some

chances. They look dangerous when they're serving their balls in or playing balls, you know, in the seams. So Seattle could really use a goal. But they are bending without breaking, and they look to be in the right spots. They're clearing the balls. So Brian Schwetzer has to be pleased with where they are at this moment, but another goal would make things a lot

more comfortable for the Seattle Sounders. They're fans. Well, you mentioned Sounders last year broke their run of playoff soccer, but ten wins on the year gets some fifteen straight seasons of ten wins for the sound Is. So you talk about consistency, well, the sound Is certainly that personified over the course of their term in mlsas they continue to enjoy success even with an up and down mid part of the season. They retain that position in third place,

leading one goal to nil. Now Here in Austin. As the ball goes along finds the feet of Theresa brings it down well cleared by Jackson Reagan, Memordriguez tries to play a little combination with Teressa top of the box, tries to fight in again. What a wonderful save by stephro and Fry again, this time to his left. He gathers it in, falls to the ground, and that safe pair of hands for the Sounders makes another save to retain

Sounders one goal advantage. That's a terrific save. It's a little deflection at the edge of the box. Fry has had three moments where his hands two to punch away, punch away, two open fist palming the ball away, and then they're in traffic hanging on to the ball. Well, let's get the sounders bench at Bear Cleveland, Yema Vargas, Montero, Alex Roldan, Paul roth, Rock, rowlery Diaz and Rosnack's already come on at half time. The bull comes in along just inside the six. Jobo's collected well by

step and fright just off the toe of Zadis. But it was a good play by Austin on that right hand side ridging. He found it got towards the end line, cut it back. But again it's Stephen Fry. Safe pair of hands again as he drives his back four up at this time pushing his back four up. They did really well because Artist was right on top of the bobbles that ball. It's probably in the back of the net. Good hands. I don't think Fry was happy that the cross came in.

And you're right pushing all the defenders up. Let's get out, let's get out. I like that he's given the message to the players, Hey, we're gonna go forward and get this thing away from our goal. You talk about the ten wins, Danny. One of my favorite staffs with this club is Seattle over the since two thousand nine, those fifteen years, seven hundred and seventy four points second place. Josh Tensio inside the box, Leo Chio has it left foot, gets towards the endne tries to get it, just

cuts it back clip. Eventually bast Cascante well like he went over the end line, but nothing given by the referee or system. Referee goes out for a sound is throwing on the fast side the left. We see one of those SUPs getting primed to come on. Jordan Morris done his job tonight, found the opening goal. We expected potentially Jordan to come off at half time. Brian kept it on and wasn't that a great decision by the head coach to leave Jordan on the field and there he is getting in front. Is

just a really good goal in the forty eighth minute. What a great way to come out at the second half of the sound is no question here. We talked about it before the game. For Jordan Morris to be in that spot that can give him the confidence that he needs to get going again, and so he's got to feel great about his first sixty three minutes or sixty three minutes shift. So good for Jordan Morris, good for Nicole Ladero.

You need your big time players to get it done right and important games like this, another player in it bad two goals in two games to start the season has not found the back of the net since. Wouldn't it be a perfect story if it back him on the field. Now got that second goal

for the Sounders to get his season going again. Story all the way back in twenty sixteen when Valdez was really drying goals and he got off the board right towards the end of the season and got the Sounders going, got him into the playoffs, and of course we know how history was written thereafter. I gotta I think he got a goal in the semi final. Credit to Brian Schmittzer on that one, because he stuck with him. He stuck with him, he kept him in there. So I started to say about the

points. Danny and the Red Bulls are at seven hundred thirty two. They are forty two points behind the Sounders in all time points. And then it's la after that this club has always been one of the top clubs and has more points than anyone since it's inception in two thousand and nine. As you mentioned, consistency, consistency, consistency both on the field and off the field.

For the Sounders, as they lead one goalton here in Austin, Texas clips off the heel of Reebaker, Waitting is gonna be a thrown four Austin quick change for Austin. Matt Hedges has gone off the field. Weisson and the Finnish player came in in January of twenty twenty three, back from injury, comes on the field as Austin retained their four at the back. They've made a shift to three at the back against Dallas. Joshua was questioned about

that decision as they lost that game one goal to nil. They went three at the back in Seattle called seals some real problems when they got that win. A looming field, there's a lightful like switch for Austen as the ball gets not long, little flick around the corner by double air. As the sound has come again, ball over the top is a Tensio tries to wriggle free. He makes a running a burst from his central midfield position. As

Rosnak holds this spot defensively allows allows a Tensio to get in behind. And Brian Schmitzer mentioned during the week shout to find Josh Attensio that perfect spot is he in number eight? He has that engine to get up and down the field. Discussions even being a half pete off him playing in the back line somewhere in the center back role, just based on his size and his speed. Is the August not long Christian header into that man, Josh Tensio.

Well, we've got two good center backs right now with three with Oriaga, but you know with Reagan Ilmasendrati. But you're right, you look at Josh and Tensio and his traits, his characteristics and his leadership, his composure, he could certainly be that guy. Probably needs a bite still, you know

in that tackle, especially being a center back. I think Jackson Reagan scientists showed that more be more dominant in the air, and certainly the frame that the natural frame and physique that Attensio has, He's certainly can provide that dominance in the box as well. And Austin now building out the back slipped down the line by Lima deflected a tensio. Is that ball in the air flick around the corner to a bear inside the box as weissing and it went down,

made a really good challenge on it bear inside the box. Time he had to be perfect. It was then she cleared by Leam. On the second attempt, good ball by Ladero found a bear. As the sound has come again inside the box, Leo Chruish has to flick it off Cascante he did. It's gonna be a Sounders corner kick. As the sound has continue to come in waves. Try to find that second goal. I like this

from Seattle. They've gotten back in their momentums a bit nervy right after the goal from Mortis Morrison the forty eighth minute, and they've gotten back on track, picked up where they were in the first half. Good opportunity for this must be about the six or seventh corner kick for Seattle sixth goring a kick for the Sounders. It's gonna be Ladero with his left foot in outswinging corner kick from the fast side the left. As two officials sounds on the top

of the box. Some hustle and bustle top of the six yard box does come in flick by Jackson Reagan it bear couldn't take it off his chest,

but he retains possession for the Sounders on this near side. The right's attentiona wriggles free of Wolfe lays it back to Rosneck as the Sounders now patience in possession as New finds Whiting to double a double air, finding a bit more freedom coming off that right hand side, now allowing read Baker White into advance further up the field, just like Alex Roldanist and so well over the last

couple of seasons. Good play so far by the Sounds on that right hand side, as knew, who knocks it all the way back to Seffron Frying goal for this copyrighted audiocast of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer to get here. In the sixty ninth minute, Austin nil Sounders won off the back of a forty eighth minute goal by Jordan Morris, who's been subbed doubt. The

bad comes in is at number nine. Job done so far for the Sounders. They try to find their twelfth clean sheet of the season, their third clean sheet away from home. This would put him at five hundred on the road record if they can get this. And maybe we shouldn't be talking about that too early, I guess, but we're right now four or five and three and and Brian Schmitzer has pulled all the right strings thus far. They've got to keep doing what they're doing once again. Another goal would make a

world of difference. It would put this Austin team down, you know, the doubt would creep into their mind and they would certainly elevate the Sounders. I'm with you, though, Danny. Let's get that twelfth shut up well, loose bull by Austin just thought the Sounders would want. As the bull comes all the way across towards Brian Schmitzer and a bit of wander across the red Baker waitsy out of his technical areas. The fourth official just beckoning Brian

back to give a couple of instructions. So the young right back as the ball goes down the line with double a's got some speed and pace bundled over by Valencia. Nothing given by Drew Fisher as he wanders over double their surprise by that, But you know what, that's a young player. He's got to be strong right there and continue to carry on. He's heading toward the box, and you've got to just be strong and not be taken down. Is you're better off trying to go to goal and hoping for a foul high

pressed by the Sounders. There's also trying to build out the back inside the eighteen yard bucks to supers yard in front of his Gold. Confident play by the goalkeep eventually finds Gallagher on this near side the left, little combination ball goes down the line. It's a memo Rodriguez got some time in space.

Jackson Riggan coming across top left corner of the box, goes short to Jurisi twenty five yards from Gold, goes all the way across to Ragoni, clips off the heel of Leo Cho goes over the in line for a corner kick for Austin, the second corner kick of this game. So far, as the sound has continue to dominate in statistics offensive statistics, both in possession and corner kicks. As Austin have it, this near side the left to be

Rodriguez gonna be curled in with his right foot. There's a near post flicked in. It's a chance and it's a goal by Drewisi celebrates on that back post. And that's been an area of the game, an area of the field where Austin's found some joy in this time, separ and Fright couldn't be there to make the save, and it's Drewisi on that back post who knocks it in. It's an empty goal to make it Austin one sound as one. It's the ball flicked through. Unfortunately, it looks like game off Josh

and Tencio's head. No, not off Josh and Tencio's head. It's unfortunate. Drewsy's not gonna miss that opera tunity. We'll see it was a foot by Stephen Fry did the whole bull go of the end line. Looked like from the anger we're seeing from behind the goal. This time Regoni's head. It did not go over the end line. Nothing given by the referee. This time Drew ESI's send him for the naked eye. Look like he went over the end line. It's gonna be VR check because the players just wait

to kick this one off. But disappoint for the sound is those set pieces away from home, Pe. What you've got to really stand strong and clee your lines. Yeah, yeah, you can't switch off in that in any or not even for a second. And you see that happen in Seattle's definitely. We've seen it so many times with the Seattle Sounders where they've held a lead on the road and that's the team that we are used to seeing over the past fifteen years. And this one just a little flick onto the back

post and recy right there to tuck it away. Having seen the replay a few times, Dan, I'm surprise they're reviewing it as they are Fries. But definitely, yes, inconclusive. We've got some obviously some leagues that have

that goal line technology. Let's also make a couple of substitutions. Will brewin former sounda is going to come on on the field for Zardis, and then Alex Ring, the former club captain, comes on the field to kind of sit in the middle of the park for Valencia as the ball goes over the end line, free gold kick for Austin. But Pete Brian Schmitz away from home messages is nothing cheap, don't give anything away, right. They felt I was a bit of a cheap goal. Yeah. Yeah, restarts have

been a bit of our Achilles heel this year or so. That is very unfortunate. And honestly, I'm a big fan of Will Brewin for many reasons. Coming on the field right now, he'd love nothing more than to get Austin a second goal. They're kind of like for like artists, maybe being at a little bit more spry, a little bit younger, But Will Bruin two goals already this season for the team, and you can never give him the opportunities. Yep, two goals in the one of them being down in

Portland. Yes, he celebrated, just as we've seen him celebrate for the Sounders. We fellows extra special after his time in the Pacific Northwest. As a Sounder is now in the heat and the humidity of Austin, you try and call themselves back, try and find a goal that gives him those three points to get them further at that Western Conference. We'll get some of those scores as the ball goes down the line, rolls over the end line for an Austin Gold kick. But sound As fans, if sound As FC scores

Sign up today at soundsfc dot com Laser focus seventy sixth minute here Q two stave in Austin, Texas nine fifty KGr am. It's Austin one sound as one. It's a forty eighth minute goal from Jordan Morris and then a equalizing gold in the seventy second by captain and then number ten and leading goal scorer with his

eighth goal of the year, Drewisi. We thought the first half went pretty quick. The first part of this second half also has gone fast. Shot by Brosneck deflected. It's gonna be Drews again. It cuts away from pression read Baker Whiting and found Memo Rodriguez on this near side the left overlapping run by Gallagher when the Wolf priding some support square bypasses, Wolf goes all the way to the far side the right with Lima clips in with his right foot.

Good header by Jackson Reagan. It was Brewin who was getting himself in between read Baker, Whiting and Jackson Reagan, and he was Reagan who came up Trump's headed the ball over the end line. It's gonna be a corner kick for Austin. Remains one. One good decision from Jackson. Reagan just running back and then really had no other option but to flick it up and over. See's got to be sharp now, Danny same side of the corner,

all comes in and swinging with his right foot. Cleared this time by Red Baker Whiting who was his miss header and that last goal that clipped it to the far post as Ladero goes to the deck and knocks it down the line. Nothing given by Drew, Fisher and Pete. Certainly we talked about hamporton this week is for many teams. Western Conference teams playing tonight. Give

a couple of scores. Minnesota three, Colorado nil, Saint Louis nil, Dallas nil, Chicago nil, Vancouver one, Houston one, Columbus nil. And of course here Austin one. Sound as one does. Austin habit and the far side the right hand side, Casa Ken cuts inside pressure by Knew who buys nick Leema whips it in again with his right for this time it is Will Brewn gets he's out on the ball inside the six yard box, goes over the crossbar. Gould kick Sounders remains one one. You just cannot

count him out, can you. He's already he's come on. He's put some pressure under the back line of the defense. I'm sure Will wants that one back. It's a little bit high, so we'll take that from Will Broom that you cannot give him this kind of room. He's right in between. He finds that space right in between both center backs. There's a really good chance for Will Brewing. He found himself. It's not six yard bucks. Really good delivery by Leema again on that right hand side, no real

pressure on the right back. It's something that Brian Schmitzer the point of address story and Wolf has the top of the box. Professor Wriggle free support by Rodriguez, saved by Stephan Fright comes off his chest. He's able to smother the ball on the rebound, rolls it out quickly to Jackson Reagan. Game has a bit more empo. Now. Is the crowd slowly get into this game? Fill those seats. It was a little empty as the game started,

but certainly full now. The sound is for to find that second goal, can get them over the finish line, get them three points, three valuable points that will continue to push them to a high spot in the Western Conference. Came in third in the Western Conference coming into this game, and Pete we talked about it with Brian Schmitza. Even though the Sounders haven't played their best, you know, being in for the position, still there was

a great platform to push forward in the playoffs. Yeah, no question. It's if you were to look at how the team's played, or you look at some of the results and say that you're still in third place, I think you would take that in a heartbeat. Unnecessary foul here just now from Ariaga at the fifty yard line, just going right through the back of Will Bruin. So we see a substitution for the Sounders. Oh but Vargas coming

on the got a start last week. It's Minnesota. He was off the bench and replaced of double Air. So he slides into that right midfield spot like for like switch. We've seen Vargas play there a couple of times in the season. If it's a bit more of an anchor in that midfield double Air, it's only more offensively minded. We saw in the U twenty World Cup. The Vargas does like to get Fordy has the ability to go forward.

Played more of a holding midfield position, but we've certainly seen him get assists, one of them certainly against Portland down that right hand side cut it back for Ruy Diaz and that full one loss. A good player to bring off the bench, good young player. Yes, yes, I agreed, and I think Double Air did very well. I think you just started to get a little bit tired, so it's fresher legs after that goal that I

was thinking what subs would Brian Schmatzer make. It's a great opportunity for Vargas in another spot to expand his impact on the team and his value if you can play more than one spot. Sounds in possession fastside the left with Leo Chu cuts inside to Ladera top of the box, tries to find Leo Chu with the product of the left foot. It rolls over just Brad Steuver and the Austin goal as he rolls the ball out to this near side the left

to John Gallagher. Five goal, five assists men on the year so far. Pretty impressive return for a fullback. He's switched from left back to right back during the season, often playing on a wingback position as well. If the team goes to with a three at the back, there's New who clicks the ball, finds Roseneck a little quiet since he came on alongside Josh attens here, who's got the ball now in possession and sound as half of the field as the sounds just when the fund the ball, a little bit of

possession, a little tempo. New have been solid so far, Pete. Have your Oriaga coming into the team, certainly sliding very well for Yama and again Jackson Reagan pretty consistent back of the back line. Yeah, I think Bryan will be happy with with what the back line did. Certainly what Stepan Friday. He's come up very big. He has had to do some extra work, but the back four has been good. Spectulative shot goes over the end line for a goal kick. Who was Loadero trying to find that far

post from a really tight angle with his left foot. There's gonna be a gold kick for Austin. Remains Austin one sound as one here in the eighty second minute and nine fifty KGr am the score up day is presented by Provident Swedish. Because Alex Ring knocks the ball up into the air. I like that from Ladero. It's like the free kick, right. He goes to the goal. He's trying to make something happen here. He thinks maybe he's catching stub off a little bit and see if he can catch him at the

back post. The Ray Green at back at home for a Marquee rivalry matchup against the Portland Timbers on Saturday, September second at seven thirty pm. You can watch via the MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app or listen on nine fifty kg RM and l RAY thirteen sixty am in Spanish with the Provident Swedish pre match radio shows starting at seven p m. A couple of changes for Austin, Max Rutti on the field, Memoridriguez coming off, as is

Regoni selling for Austin. Pressure on to get three points of three wins in a row at home dating back to be four leagues cut Zethan Finley comes on as well. Look Ald A couple of players to bring off the field. Max Ruti so much experience in MLS and sin Ethan Finley has had another consistent season so far. Four goals four assists on the year for Ethan Finlay's a switch a slot in on that right hand side, as Max Ruti will slot

in most likely on this left hand side. It's nice when you can bring these kind of weapons in this kind of experience in you know they've got ten minutes, seven minutes to get it done, and they're gonna take these guys. These guys know this is a tremendous opportunity for them, and they also know that they can walk on the field with some confidence and their teammates will have confidence in them. So to see Yema getting prepped, it's gonna be

Leo Choo's gonna come off. Good outing by Leo Choose, dangerous at times, good work defensively. We mentioned that in the first half, and we'll see if the pragmatic Bryan Schwetze will slot to a three at the backstrain close this one out, I think at a second point on their road trip one one tie in Minnesota. As Yemo, the goal scorer for the Sounders this past weekend, comes on the field, we'll see if the Sounders do slot

to a three at the back to see this game out. Paul goes along by Stephn Fries is gonna roll all the way through so Suber and the Austin goal as he rolls the ball out so Weisson and ball at his feet as he jogs Alex Reagan's support line of confrontation with the Sounds five yards inside the Austin half of the field. It looks like we've got Vargas on the left hand side shifting over for Chew and ten Ceo and Russneck in the middle of the park. Looks like a three. Looks like Yema on the right hand

side, Jackson Reagan in the middle of Hobby on the left. Yeah, you're right, I was right. It's Ladero who has gone on to the left. Little fully by. Ladero on the far side of the left goes to the chests of the bear well played by the Sounders forward the bull goes into Rosneck is bundled over by a Routsi. It's like a Route is playing

more of a conventional ten with DREWSI playing on the left hand side. We'll surely see DREWSI slide into that central area at times as Austin looking for that win at home and Pete Bryan Schmitzer as we get here into the eighty sixth minute one one here in Austin, Texas mean Brian Schmitz will be again pleased with the ball in possession at feet, but again it's a frustration. It was an own goal by Yema against Minnesota and a wide open Drewicy on the

back posts from a misclearance from that corner kick. Right. Too many goals this year against Seattle on restarts, and you're right, he'll be happy about many of the aspects of this game. That will be one that you know, you just show the video, right, you say, okay, you

tell me, right, what do we have to do. We've got to be better on restarts, so to come this far and you know, travel wise, and with the week that we that the Sounders have three games, and honestly, what do you think is that a fair result one one? Each team's certainly had their chances. Each goalkeepers come up with big saves. I think both. Yet I think both goalkeepers have come up with big saves.

Stephan Vos certainly has made a couple of wonderful says in that pet post, especially when probably from Rigoni two head us able to close them out new go in two footage challenges follow through it gonna be a yellow card. I think he's gonna be a little bit careful. Tends you a little bit fortunate, Pete. We've seen that before. Two footage challenge. He does win the ball, it's the follow through that catches the shin of Ethan Finley as

he cleects the ball, knocks it around. It doesn't really touch him. The replay show it doesn't really touch him. Ethan Finny does go down, makes the most of it, more of a slip than anything. Pete, Yes, yeah, and I understand knew Who's response, but it looks dangerous, you know when you see that second foot trailing and coming up and it's the wrong location. You're thirty yards out on the right hand side. JERSI ball at his feet, right channel, twenty five yards from the end line.

It's gonna be his right foot. Does the sounds hold that position? Twelve yards from Stephen Fry's goal. Uruti making a move on that back post. The ball comes in middle of the six yard box, cleared by knew Who Well. Nick Leema ts a cushion of ball to John Gallagher as the Sounds pressed all the way back as Stubn the Austin Gold collects the ball at his feet forty yards or so from his goal, launches it long to this near side the left game our little nudge and Cascante, who has held his

position high up the field. The center back's gonna roll over for a sounds thrown again. This game has gone very quick. Eighty eight minute now. I don't see that there will be a lot of stoppage time. There's been a couple of VR I suppose, so maybe we'll get four or five minutes well, I think, and maybe you'll make up for what he didn't give in the first time. I think caught us all off guard. Eschew did go down for some attention and nothing given on that extra mile stoppage time giveaway

by Dressy. It's gonna be Ladero won them at ten to another and it's new who far side the left overlapping and run cuts it back to Ladero has found his tenth assist on the year, children more us his tenth goal. And we mentioned Pete two days rest Sunday game from against Minnesota, travel heat against a difficult opposition. Suddenly at home that being strong all year sounded so far earning that one one time you say it like that, I would agree

with you. One dent and I think the fans when you put all that equation together to come away with one point. You know, Danny, before we started watching Major league soccer, I was against the tie concept. I never really thought of it. You hear in the English Premier League a lot, but I understand it now with this many games. Sometimes at these tightest situations, with rotation of lineups, you have to take that point. At Zigi Schmidt used to say, you know, you give up one, you

could have had a point. Instead you get zero, given up a late goal. That one point could be the difference in your playoff bracket. Yep, you know, especially away from home. Yes, you know, Tye and brush Mats said it so many times. Partsy this league so difficult to win away from home. They might even get a point. It's the Sounders chat. Build out the back play with some confidence. Good play by the Sounders, high pressed by Austin, but they break that press with Vargas tries

to flick the ball to the far side. He finds new who on the far side the left. As he motors forward, his left foot goes back to a Rosneck twenty five yards from the end line, left corner of the box goes and finds Ladera has been active again in that number ten year old to new towards the end, like cuts it back to Ladera, ball at his feet, whips it in along that six yard box, flicks up stripe by Vargas and Rosneck and it's in the back of the nets. The Sounders

have found the goal to put them up here in Austin, Texas. And what an important goal that is for this club. Has Bryan Schmitzer celebrates and it's Austin one Sounders two. What a tremendous goal, tremendous build up. You said it before Seattle was even in the attacking third. It must have been thirteen passes. Vargas hits it very well. The rebound comes right out to Albert Russneck and he messing does not mess around with it. It does

a great job of getting over the ball right pasted over. You know, you talk about it earlier, Danny, You've got to have a little bit of luck in this game. That came through four legs to get to find its way to the back of the net. And Seattle they have to be relieved. But maybe the magic is starting to come back. Creep back into this club. Big time players have to make big time plays at critical times of the season. And this time it's Albert Rosneck who finds some space in

the eighteen ya box and strikes it own goal. And it was Gallagher on the line couldn't stop it. And they says, Sounders, who find that goal, let me go an extra miles stop which time, Pete, you mentioned some time. It's eight minutes of Stoppa's time. He did take some for the first half. Yeah, remember when I said, hey, when Albert goes on, MAT's can say Albert go get hiss a goal. I'm sure that you did say that. I'm sure that's what Brian said. Well

that's what we're gonna say. Now, it's great, it's great coaching, it's great coaching, but you need that, you know, a guy like that who can score goals, you need to say it to him. I'm you know, I don't know if he said it to him or not, but he knows when he goes on, he's got to make that kind of difference. Eight minutes. That's a that's a bit of a chunk of time for Seattle. Now sound is in possession. Josh attends you. Ball down the line, it said, Bear's good a barrel pass. Sal's ring stays

on his feet, could have gone down, but attends you. How's the ball in possession? Given away cheaply? It's some chance to find it? Beat again, tired legs, tired legs. It's Truisi wriggling free of red Baker waits and good solid outing by the young right back. The bull get shipped from this near side to the far side the right to Lima Wells. It's Ethan Finley. He clips the bulling towards that back post, headed away by Yamo. It's gonna roll over. It looks like a throwing on his

left side. Yeah, a good decision to bring Amarn right. And that was at at one one. But now we we definitely need that extra body and that composure and size inside that box. Sounders continue to beat out Austin in possession fifty one possession for the Sounds as a ball comes in long thrown again, flicked in over the top because Austin again that long throw the cause

some trouble for the Sounders on set pieces. This time he was a long throw, got flicked in ball over the top, goal kick Sounders remains Austin one. Sounders too. It's great sports. You just we're sitting here watching you start to get nervous. Right for the team, you want them to win, right and and any restart Austin looks quite dust and Seattle's got to try to avoid that, keep possession of the ball. They've got to kill another five minutes to end this one and nowhere near over well, it would

put Sounders at forty points, retains that position in third place. Read Baker which he comes off his right backspot middle of the field, just kicks it out of bounds. No problem there for the Sounders if in doubt booted out. The Sounders now just need to retain their composure defend that goal. Seven Fries made some big time saves in this game already. Is he gonna have to make one more save to retain and earn this win on the road.

Remember the five teenagers that played back in twenty twenty one, gonna one goal to nil win for Ruy Diaz coming off the bench. This time it's Rosnack off the bench score that second goal as the ball comes in looped up in the air by Jackson Reagan and by Atensio a little week on that header. The ball drops at Joeisi find us the feet of Lima. We get defending again. Honest work by Ladera. Back to new Who's gonna launch it along

with his left foot it. Bear's gonna chase it down with cascante. We'll foul by a Bear and the Sounds will take that. They can get reset peep Yeah. I like the day. Bear is a good outlet. He needs he needs, that needs to be that for the Sounders. They can play it down and they can post up hold the ball kill some time. Alex Ring in possession, goes across so Wolf back to Alex rings Austin, now in possession left hand side with Gallagher, tries to go in flix it

over the top. The Sounders will take that all day long as it goes over and loops over the crossbar for a Sounders goal. Kick remains Austin one, Sounders two. And this score update is presented by Provident Swedish. Heif

you Stephen Fry will love that right there. One. We've seen a very dangerous you know, crosses from restarts or crosses in the run of player to be able to kill a five thirty seconds with Fry just relieves the pressure, gets everyone forward and now three minutes to kill, two and a half minutes to kill. So Brian schmittzer on his feet in his technical area. The Sounders launched this ball long the feet the foot of Stephen Fry towards it.

Bear knocked up in the air by Gallagher down the line. Good wind in the air by Red Baker. Weiss's balld not down the line. It's gonna be over Vargas and the bear is gonna challenge Strover in the goal inside his six yard bocks ball at his feet at the Austin goalkeeper can't do anything but knock it down the line finds the feet of Lima. As the Sounds worked their way back solid so far as we get here in the sixth minute. End of the sixth minute, Austin one, Sounders two. Alex Ring launches

it from center to the fast side the right. Eventually the assistant referee puts this flag up. Trew Fisher calls a foul who was knew who? When down dramatically, We've got the free kick and the Sounds again. We'll say that all day long. Pete, Yeah, that will put the proper smile on the coaching staff's face. Yes, that's right, that's right, that's that's the smile they're looking for, not the why did you shoot that? Yeah? This again killing a little bit more of the clock. You know,

you can feel that. We look in the stands, Danny, and much of the middle of the grand stands down low of much of it is emptied out the fans frustration and where the club's out, especially after what they did last season. So Boston came into this game in ninth position, just above the playoff line. Is it bad? Tries to skip by Kascanti. He does find a little bit of space, gets dragged down, knocks the ball over the end line, asking the referee to give him something. Nothing

given. It's gonna be a bit of Vargas who run over that end line, trying to quell the ball coming out quickly and works his way back well as a young man is puts some pressure on Alex ring You like that from albed Vargus as young as he is, thinking the entire way through, how do I kill a little bit of time? Ball comes off Rebaker Whiting is gonna be a throwing with John Gallagh and that's near side the left comes back

to Ring. Drusian support gets the ball to feet right in front of Brian Schmitz, who tries to organize his team defend this goal for just for thirty more seconds. Cascanti knocks the ball towards the back post towards Will Brune, headed clear by Yama. It's gonna be a throwing, and a throwing for Austin is just as good as a as a corner kick, as it's gonna

come in long John Gallagher ten yards or so from the corner flaggers. Will Brun goes short knocks the ball out of bounds, goes back to Alex Ring As the Sounders pushed their way up towards the p K spot, Gallagher ball at his feet. Alex Ring so gets towards the very end of this eight minutes. It's extra time now added by the referee. As Vargas closes Alex

Ring down. That's near side the left. Brian Schmitzer screaming out instructions cleared by the Sounders, but it's gonna be owen Wolf and the ball comes in by Lema, headed clear by Ariaga, close down by the gold scorer Rusnak on the far side. As the ball comes in clear by Jackson Reagan players asking for that whistle to go. As Ladera steps in good play. Rusnak gets the ball and the Sounders see this one out goes to a Bear. We're into thirty seconds at a time, eight and a half minutes gone.

As the ball gets knocked down the line Stupart ball at his feet, last chance for Austin to get in. Towards the end of nine minutes, now of eight added on. Bring this near side the left forty yards from the end. I tries to whip it in, deflects. Our Vargas steps in it. Bear tres to put some pressure on owen Wolf and it's a good challenge by Atensio. Still the referee not put the whistle to his mouth. With past the ninety ninth minute mark, ball goes in look pushed by our

Yaga and knew it goes and slashes the ball clear. Precky on his feet, Brian Schmitzer on his feet asking for that whistle to go, and the whistle goes to the mouth of Drew Fisher, and that's a wonderful win for the Sounders. There was hard foot but well earned Pete. The team came in four points from their road trips so far, a tie against Minnesota. Three points here, wonderful win for the Sounds. Well earned, well earned, and they played it right. They certainly played it right, I think.

I think all the factors made it that they had to play the way they did, the heat, the travel, the limited time in between, the knowing that Portland is next. And it was a team win. That will be a happy locker room. That was a similar win to the game at Vancouver's Treated Too about a month ago. A lot of smiles on the faces of the players. Jordan Morris will be thrilled that he got the goal, Nico will be thrilled that he got an assist, and Rusneck will feel

like he's done his job tonight. Fry certainly makes the case for being man of the match. That's a great win for the Seattle Sounders. They'll enjoy that flight home well. Jordan Morris with a goal in the forty eighth minute, time goal for dues in the seventy second, and then is Albert Rosneck in the ninetieth minute to win it for the Sounders. We'll take a short break. Jackson Felts. We're back to break it all down from Q two Stadium in Austin, Texas. It finishes Austin one, Sounders two. You've

Sunders Seed post Match Show Sounders FC Sucker is brought to you by Providence, Swedish, official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. The Sounders FC FoST match show starts. Now, what's a win? What a match?

The win the Sounders need the first and quite a while. What's a game? And for the Seattle Sounders now going up with a big three points in Austin, Texas, this roadwin the winner from Albert russ Snack which will hear in just a moment for your Sounders, that is about as big of a roadwin as you're gonna get a team that is have a three match six books Flix up suddenly playing. Thank you Mitchell much. Would you say this is your first game? I think I've it might be. Yeah, we'll

get that going here in just a moment. That needs to actually be down and off before you do that. Okay, thank you so for the Sounders. For the Sounders, what this means is a great chance to be able to come home coming off of a big win there against Austin. You also got a point earlier the week against Minnesota United, so four points overall. And for the Sounders, it's Albert russnot getting the goal in the ninetieth bullet. His feet whips it in along that six yaw books flicks up strip by

focus on russneck and it's in the back of the nets. The Sounders have found the goal to put them up here in Austin, Texas and one an important goal that is for this club. And it's a two to one win. They're a great call from Danny Jackson and Sounders now coming home to face Pearl and Timbers on Saturday with a big four points there on the road. Jackson, Felts and Pete if hearing here for the post match show, We're on the rails. We're back on the rails here. It's been a less

five minutes. Have been a lot of fun basically, you know, since Danny and Pete signed off, I've been but around using a lot of words I can't use on the air. It's been a very fun time. So naturally things are a little bit hectic here to start the post match show, Pete, we're back on the rails and I've sort of begun to breathe again. How amazing was that? Well, it felt like days of old,

which we haven't had for a while. Right. It was a it was a good performance, it was a calculated performance, it was a team performance. They got what they needed. At the end. You're going against a team that frankly has given up too many goals this season, that is a little bit down on their luck, and you have to take advantage of that. It's to go and get that on the on the road. And now the possibility of a seven point week cumulating with the game with the Portland Timbers

is terrific. So it's a great thing for the Seattle Sounders, it's a great thing for the fans and it and it really heightens a game that you know, the game where Vargas gets the assist, we go up one nothing, we're at Portland, we think we're on our way, and then bang bang bang bang bang four goals. And you and I were there that night. I mean, that was that was unlike any twenty minutes of my entire

life. Well, it was, yeah, because we're on our way and then all of a sudden, we are on our way leaving bang bang bang, Yeah, and that was a tough one. And then back here in Seattle zero zero draw, right uh am, I right on that, right, yeah, And that was one that Seattle wanted, uh to sort of make up. So so now and now Seattle in in third place, it's all to play for. They've been the theme around the team, around the players. They saw what they did early in the Monterey game. They want

to get back to that. But now they're back in a position and let's hope we get Christian mold On back. You know, when he's on the field in twelve games, there's only one loss. If you can bring him back into it, yeah, I mean, that'll be a tough situation. And uh and we'll see, you know, we'll get an update from head coach Brian Spencer in just a little bit. We're gonna hope to get Brian Spencer's postgame press conference here in just a little bit as well, so I

will stay tuned regarding that. But for the Sounders, yeah, I mean it's a big chance. Let's let's start to talk about this match here for the Sounders today because two to one overall, and and Pete, I think one of the things we can talk about when it comes to this match is how the Sounders both started it in terms of their lineup and then also in

terms of how they made those changes. So overall, when we talked about the strategy in pregame for what Spencer was looking to do, how do you evaluate how he has built this team out for both the first forty five and the last forty five. Well, I love the trust that he puts in Baker Whiting and josh A Tensio and for them to end double air. For those guys to come on the field, you know, he just he gives these young players an opportunity, puts them in a position where you know you're

it's an important game. Momentum is very important for this team at this time. To put Ariaga on the field, he really pulled the right strings. Hey, we did not use Raoul ruy Diaz. I think that it was a good move to put a bear on the field. We're gonna have a very fresh real ideas he rises to the occasion has in the past. He's gonna look at the Portland game as a chance for him to be fresh and

to come in and make a big difference. That's absolutely right. Sam Gomez and Ray by the way, and that's and that's a great point to talk about how this match got closed out. And once again, if you're just joining us postgame show of the Sounders two to one win down there in Austin, goes from Jordan Morris in the forty eighth minute and then Albert Russknack in

the ninetieth minutes, and the way that Brian Schmitzer made these substitutions. Pete, and you mentioned Yamar Gomezon Dratti right there, because I think that's an important one. He comes on there in the eighty fourth minute of at the time a one one game, and the thought there is all right, we're building a back three slash back five to pretty much just say we're creating a wall. Good luck, you know, getting past this and settling and saying

we're fine going one one. Then you get the cold to go up two one and you have that wall already built. I mean, Gomezon Drat it's a it's a it's a luxury when you can bring on a guy who just got done scoring two goals in the previous game, one for the wrong team. But like you know that, it's a really nice set up when you can build that back five and still be on the offensive end and end up

getting a goal. Well, he knows the drill too right. He can handle the assignment of keeping it at once, and Rusneck knows the assignment two of going in and having to be a spark. You could there's there's times when you feel like players are going to come in and rise the occasion. Rus next goal was excellent right. It went through. It went behind one player and in front of another player to find its way to the back of

the net. But to your point, with Gomez and Trotty, he had about three or four headers that were very important, and the shape of the team, the defensive wall in front of the goal with him in there, became pretty difficult for Austin to get anything out of it. So as we see this now, Seattle is on forty points through twenty seven games. Saint Louis looks like they're gonna get to win, so theyre right now. We're at forty seven points through twenty six games, So Saint Louis right now at

the top of the conference. LAFC also at forty points, but they dude forty in two less games than Seattle. So that's that situation. But Seattle really kind of now formidable and holding strong with that third position there in the Western Conference. There's a lot to get to here. Tonight on the post match show, we're gonna take a break. We're gonna hopefully here from head coach Brian Spencer. In just a few moments. We're gonna have our Emerald

Queen Casino Play of the match. That's gonna be one. We have to figure out Toyota Man of the Match, also have to figure that out. Lots to get to here. We're gonna pretty poland coming up on Saturday. This is gonna be an hour long post match show. Now about forty five minutes left here, A lot to get to here. Exciting two to one win for the Sounders down in Austin, Texas. A lot more talk about that Hedge coach Brian Spencer coming up next on Sports Radio nine fifty KJR AM.

Welcome back to the post match show Sounders with a two to one win tonight down in Austin, Texas over Austin FC. We're gonna hear from head coach

Brian Schpreser in just a few minutes. But for the Sounders the win that this club needed to be riding high into a match again the Parland Timbers on Saturday. Lots to talk about here about the two to one one game, lots to look ahead to with Parland coming up. But at his time, for our Emerald Queen Casino Play of the Match. You could go one of the two goals, but personally, I'm gonna be looking at our Toyota Man of the Match tonight with this epic moment in the first half, Jasy to

Zo at the top of the books, try to find it. Great save comes to RAGONI good double save again by Stephen Fry and eventually clid by JP who comes down and hooks it away for a throwing. The Play of the match is presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest. Yes, and I'm gonna do that Pete in because we have to talk about this man Toyota. Tonight's Toyota Man of the Match is Stephen Fry. Your local Toyota dealers are proud to present tonight's man of the match. This was

a vintage game from Stephen Fry, Pete Fewing. He was on his head all night making massive save after massive save. That double save was just one of the many moments he was fantastic. Yeah, I was vintage. You're exactly correct. He had a couple where he punched out, he had a couple where he slapped it down with a big strong paw and pushed it away from the goal, you know, out of danger. It's all goalkeepers need to parry things away from oncoming opponents. And then he held onto balls in

some really tight spaces. There was one Jazzy's artist was right on top of him and he collected it, held onto it good and tight, and then he and then he did a good job leading Jackson. There was times where he's like, no, no, no, get up, get up, we gotta get away from our goal. He killed a little bit of the clock. You know, the guys play in front of him. Everybody wants to play for step and Fry. If you're a defender, you know it's

unfortunate on the goal, but you cannot blame him at all. And frankly he made a skate save to kick it out. Unfortunately it was just inside the line when it when it went in. But I thought Fry had a

tremendous game, professional game, and he was big. You know, Allison at Liverpool made a big save this weekend and it was the same kind of thing where you know, it just keeps your team in the game, and you know it's funny moment goals change momentum that sounds very obvious, but if you can stay in the game on the road and your goalkeepers making saves, he gets more confident, You get more confident, your opponent gets more discouraged.

So yeah, it's the right pick. I think he's definitely a man of the match for me. Yeah, he was huge. You know, we wouldn't be doing our due diligence talking about this two to one win for the Sounders without going over these goals, and I guess we'll eat the vegetables first. You know on that goal that that the Sounders gave up Drewisi at the back post there, and it was it was really kind of what that came down to me. Let me see if your coach's eyes saw the same

thing. Was it was an attempted clearance that they you know, I think it was a tenseio just didn't get a full head on the ball and it ends up going to the back post. If a tensio gets an inch more of his head on that ball, then it's cleared away a totally different way. Yeah. Well, it's similar to the Sounder school and that Nico Ledero puts it in a dangerous spot and that ball was put into a dangerous spot and you got bodies clashing into each other. Everybody's trying to just get a

little flick. You know, they don't necessarily have a great angle. So can you flick it to the it's by design? Can you flick it to the back post, or can it's skim off one of the Sounder's heads. And that's exactly what happened. Yeah, And so you know, Josh Wolf, the Austin coach, has to be happy that that that one worked. And and then you got the right the right guy getting his eight goal, eighth goal of the season at the back post. So was he left open

too much of the back post? Yeah he was. But you know you go to the ball. When the ball gets played in the near post, it sucks everyone toward the ball because it's also coming towards the goal, just like Nikos, right, So you got to make sure that you might have to leave your guy to make sure that you might be the one clearing it off the line on the flick. So, uh, good execution from them, just like Sounder's goal was also, I'll say great execution on both days.

Yeah, Nikos. I love Nikos in that When I was watching his approach yeah. Yeah. On his approach you could tell he was going as he stepped to it his body shape, he started to wrap his foot around the ball. We've seen him in past years tried it and he's been successful scoring goals on corner kicks in his younger days with the Seattle Sounders, he'd

catch the goalkeeper napping. There was a couple times where he'd hit it to the near post intentionally to score the goal, and this one you could tell that I think he saw step a little bit looking for the cross and a little bit off his near post and then Jordan Morris give him a ton of credit. Wow, that was a great finish. Jordan Yeah gets there is strong, gets in front of Jazzy's artists, two big bodies, and then

he gets wasn't a little flick. He got good contact on the ball and smash it right off server's chest and into the back of the next so that the sounds goal in forty eighth and you talk about power, it's a great transition to talking about the power on Albert russknack shot in the ninetieth yet where it's a great build up, ball kind of bounces around in the box, comes out to Albert, who hits it with about as much power as we've seen him ever hit a ball here in Seattle where he just gets a leg

behind it and just nobody's gonna stop that until it hits back of the net. No, and Vargas give him credit too, because he gets the first shot off right and it gets blocked. And then Rusnick shows his experience and his quality because you're right, he did smack it, and he smashed it, and then but he kept it on frame. It's very, very easy to send those up into the cheap seats behind the goal. So he did really well to just take that split second a composure to make sure he kept

it on frame. And then, you know, Danny Jackson talked about, you know, you could create your luck. It kind of it went behind a couple of legs and then went in front of a couple of legs and just like Jordan Morris on Steuvar you know you mentioned it at halftime, Steubar got the back of his heel. That was that was, you know, maybe a half an inch to three quarters of an inch away from going through the legs and into the back of the net. This one with Albert Rusnick,

we had a little bit of luck and it found its way. Jordan Morris's tenth goal of the year. Nicholas Ladero's tenth assist of the year. That's also Nicholas Ladero's ninety fourth rear assist across all competitions with the Sounders. The ninety four is impressive enough. Wait for this part. That's forty two more than the next highest Sounder of all time. I tweeted it, I've treated Rave Green goat Nicholas Ladero sensational ninety four career assists. I think it's

an easy bet that he'll hit one hundred before this season's over. At this point, with coming with all the playoff games and whatnot, as your Sounders have risen to third place in the Western Conference or they stayed in third place

in the Western Conference forty points on the season. After a Sounders two to one win down in Austin, Texas over Austin FC. They've risen with the three points to now forty

overall. We're gonna be hearing from head coach Brian Schmencer. In just a matter of seconds, I'll tell you that Delta Airlines is producted on one soccer ball for every mile ran by Sounders FC players this season, the Ray Foundations one Mile one Ball program. We're gonna talk about the match ahead for the Portland Timbers come into town this coming Saturday. We'll talk about that with Pete Fewing in just a couple of minutes. My buddy Steven Egg and Radio Cascadie

and I were talking and you'll laugh at this, Pete. The fact that you know, Giovanni Savarees, a former head coach of the Timbers, just recently got fired. How funny would it be. I mean the Sounders you know, took Freddy Waas from Rayal saw Lake. I mean, I wouldn't put it past the team to back up the brinkstruck as as Stevens said. And hey, Giovanni Savareesa, you want to be a special assistant for one week? So no the joking aside, I mean Portland Timbers are going through

a difficult situation right now, after losing their head coach. Right now, they're they're not doing too well on the season. I believe they're actually playing right now. We can get an update on their game later. But Portland Timbers, I'm gonna Seattle this coming Saturday. We'll get details on match.

We'll look ahead here in a little bit. We're expecting head coach Brian Schmencer'll be stepping to the podium in just a matter of seconds, So we'll get to that when he steps up and in Pete few and we expect that a very happy head coach Brian Schmenzer is about to be speaking. Yeah, I would say so. I'm just thinking about him. It's when you lose, it's very very difficult. When you win, and you win like this today, you have to be pleased and you can kind of look around the locker

room. He'll give credit to the players, no question about that. Ben. He'll lift a lot of the players up and give a lot of kudos to Fry and everybody who played, and he'll say it's a team win, no question. He is going to be happy about that. And now they can turn their attention to the Portland Timbers. And I think that's the big thing. If you don't get it done here, you know, a tie would have been okay, but it wouldn't have been quite the same because you

had the lead. But to come in and then fight back again and get back on top, they're gonna feel good about it. They're gonna want to get home and take care of their bodies and now they can. It's a it's a game that they always get excited for and then get excited because they have some confidence as well. But you're right, tough one, Uh, Savoracy being let go is a tough day for the Timbers. Well, Brian Spencer looks like he's sitting down right now. Well, he has a big

smile on his face. Will's head down to Austin, Texas and here for the Sounders head coach following tonight's two to one win down there against Austin FC. Right, sounds good, Jeremiah, you were first, so I'll let you let you have out it. And Brian, uh, And was this win particularly satisfying, just not just because of how long it's been, but in the in the way that it came about. Well, you know, even with the best fell of results. Jeremiah, you have to understand that

this team doesn't quit. It's just not within the Sounders DNA to quit in games. And so when Austin went down went down field and scored on on a corner kick, actually think, you guys, the media, you guys should watch the foul on Ethan double air prior to that play. Clear foul, clear yellow card, you know, in the opposite end. But they come down the field and they score off the corner kick, which you know is a little disturbing because they're given us some set piece goals. But you

know, that's something that we can fix. We're a little you know, jumble because we had you know, different guys come in and subs, but the team never quits. The goal sequence, the goal sequence, the the you know application of Nico, you know, winning the ball through extra effort, the no panic, the play the ball that Jackson splits open, the team will BET's turn going the other way, Albert's finish. I knew who's patients. There were a lot of positives on that final goal as far as

good soccer is concerned. But answering your question, I'm not surprised that you know, We're gonna win some of these games because the team never quits. Okay, next question, we'll go over to Jada Evans Jaya, go ahead, please, thanks congratulations Bryan on the whin. I wanted to ask about Nico. He was a key factor in this and and when you talk about never quit, he seems to be one of Obviously he's one of those players that who doesn't quit. So him playing ninety minutes today, can he kind

of assess his play? His performance today another very good performance. Look, there's a lot of chatter, there's been news articles written about the team and Nico, and you know what what's going to happen The players age out, players, you know, have their crews come to an end. But what I will say about Nicoladero is you cannot even as he gets a little older and maybe guys are catching him, you cannot fault his effort, in his desire to win, his ability to sacrifice things, his ability to lead by

example in big moments. And so today when we needed help, you know, I elected to take it. Seems like some connection issues there for head and move Nikola Darrow, why are you putting Niko out on left point? But Bryan. It sounds like there are some connection issues there for head coach Brian Schmitzer. So when we see him getting back and speaking and we see the zoom moving, we'll get back down there. But uh, and it looks like it has a resumed. So here's head coach Brian Spencer again,

following a two to one win tonight against Austin FC. Oh way, but Niko was very very very good. Thanks. You got the first half of the Schmatz before the feed. Kind of blame Mattie's sitting right over there. I'll blame matt No, no problem, we got we got the gist. I think next question we'll go over to Nico Marino. Nico, go ahead, please, But Bran, I mean, it isn't that easy to stick

to what you're doing to your gunstar tactics. Our rewarding is it that you were able to do so much good with the same tactics with a rotating squad in an away game in this particular moment. Well, it all comes down to the coaches. Coaches have been, you know, very good about implementing a system. But what we've done over the last month is we've made sure

that the entire team understands the system and the principles of play. Normally, coaches would just work with the team that's starting on a Saturday, but we've got She made sure that the second team, where the team that's not going to play, is involved in the exact same tactical exercises during training as the team that started. And I think you saw that manifest itself and read in Ethan in josh Uh. They all had really tremendous performances. Hobby looked like

he didn't miss a beat. There were plenty of the good and again it's credit to the Gucci staff. Next question over to Feliva Mikaela. Felipe, go ahead and ask your questions please, thank you, Alex, coach your brands. We do you mind asking an English please? We don't have transmitions, ca. Yeah, this is not the first time they just start a game. You seeing younger players and speak on the road. What can you

tell me about that prior to a very important game against Portland. Look, if you're referencing the game game a couple of years ago when we played five teenagers, what I would say is that josh at Tencio was part of that read Baker Whiting was part of that. Ethan double or was part of that came on the game, was part of that. We're going to bounce out of Brian Schmitter's press conference there. It looks like there's just some continued connectivity

issues. But you know, Pete to continue that part of the conversation that I think Brian's talking about there, and the question about the young kids, the fact that so many of those guys that picked up that fantastic win in Austin, you know, these five teenagers setting an MLS record a couple of years ago. They are the ones who you know, was we're key players

tonight in helping get this two to one win. And you can certainly probably guess that the confidence from that game two years ago factored into tonight's win, no question. Yeah, it's fun, it's I'm sure those three guys are walking out of the locker room saying, hey, let's play in Austin every

week. This is a good place for us to play, you know, and you talked, We talked before the game, you and I about that side, the right side of the field, Baker Widing, Ethan Doublair, and that they've got to be a team together, and that Chew and Morris had to be a team together, right, those three guys that got it

done. That, I'm sure one of them is gonna say, hey, we're two and oh when we start against Austin, And if they've got a little bit of gumption to them, they might and a little bit of humor, they might go to coach Metzer and say, hey, by the way, you know, for those of you keeping track at home, we are two and o when we play Austin, and coach will love that. So, yeah, that's I loved you know. I knew Brian would say that

this team never quits because he always gives it back to the players. He gave some nice credit to his assistant coaches for making sure that everybody's on the same page. And then he gave a great compliment about Nico Ladero and Nico will hear that and that will help build Nico up before the Portland game. He did he say anything that was inaccurate, No, not. He was very accurate right about his leadership, about his competitive spirit, about his quality.

Right, So I'm not I'm not surprised by any of the things that Brian has said today. He's always been that consistent coach. He loves coach Carol by the way Pete Carroll Seahawks, And he says he's always watched a lot of his comments. Really when he when Brian Schmitzer is talking to the media, he's really talking to the players and the fans, of course. But but he's that was a good win, and he gave credit where credit

was due. And and I think it's true, you know, the fact that ve are Ariaga, for him to come in, for Hobby to be dialed in, for Hobby to pick up where he was a couple of years ago and play with a kind of confidence of a starter. Yeah, it was a great thing. And that's culture, right. It would be very easy for Ariaga to be pouting all season, to say he's getting the you know, an unfair deal, that he's better than Reagan, you know, and all that kind of stuff. You've never seen any of it. You've

never at practice. When he walks out, he's he's ready to go and ready to do his job. And and you've got to you've gotta answer the bell when you're called, right, And so that was a good That was a great win for Seattle coming into the Portland game question. There's so many points of that that I want to continue discussing. The first point I want to hit is the topic about Nicholas Ladero. And there is a portion of the fans that and everybody is right to believe and you know, be fans

the way that they be fans. Everybody has a right to do. So there's a lot of a portion that say, you play the kids, and you know, it's it's it's time to Nicholas Ladero and Rol already has to be super subs. And you know, I think there is a little bit

of validity to that, you know, in certain moments. But then you see moments where Nicholas Ladero scores that free kick against Monterey, you know, and and helps the Sounders get out to a two nothing lead and really was a big part of looking fantastic for the first thirty minutes of that game against

Monterey. You look at tonight the assist on the Morris goal, and and he was really good tonight, and it makes you know, I would hope the people who who say, you know, play the kids, it's time to make these guys, you know, you know, start on the bench listening as long as Nicholas Ladero is playing the way he's playing, I don't know that, especially the fact that you know he is a huge leader on

this team who's been here forever. I know that, you know. That's part of also the debate of saying, you know, just because you've done X, Y Z over the last number of years, that doesn't entitle you to a starting spot. I kind of feel like in Nicholas Ladero's case, it does, considering what he can still do for this team. Well, yes, tenn Assis, right, Yeah, and tenn Assis your stat about him being forty two more assist than any other then second place, it's pretty

impressive. The free kick, you're right, was a reminder the assist today. I could just tell by his approach that he was going to goal. Yeah, and and and I by the way he was going to gold. But Jordan Morris knew he was going to goal, So that was by design. That was not a hey, you kick at all. React. It was on this free kick. If if Stupart's cheating a little bit, I'm gonna go to the near post, and you make sure you're there as well. So yeah, and he is. He's been captain of this team for

a long time. And and he's raised uh, holy cow, right, he's raised a Champions League Cup, he's raised two mlsque Cups, he's got he's supporters shield, right uh. And and so Brian has stuck with him Valdez Brian's first year when he took over, when they won, Brian stuck with Valdez. Nelson Valdez, Well, it worked out pretty great. And and and they cut him right after the season's over. Ruthless. But but yeah, I just think that Nico Ladero really showed some great quality today.

He almost had a second assistant, did uh. And so that's a good one. We need him on the field to be performing the young guys. I get those texts too. I get some buddies I've played with and and they want to see the young guys, and you say, well, Nico's better, So you have to you have to weigh that up. And there was a saying around here a while ago, a few years ago that was, we're built for this, right and we're built for it right now.

And and so right now Nico gives us And he played within himself today. By the way, he was not all over the court. Point he wasn't on the left hand side. He wasn't on the right hand side. He wasn't running into Chew. He stayed in the areas, the pockets that he needed to be in, and so it was a good game. I love the fact that we didn't use Ruey Das and this one's let's let's I'm gonna

stop you right there because I want to come back. Our broadcast director Keeley brought up a really good point about Rawle and I think you're going down that road, so let's stop right there. And there's an interesting conversation about role as we look ahead to the Pearl and Timbers coming to town on Saturday. One more segment here on the Sounders FC post match show following a two to one win tonight down in Austin, Texas, Sounders beating Austin and now all time against Auson they're three one in two, the lone loss coming earlier this year at Loumin Field,

and then another big win tonight down there in Austin, Texas. Goals from Jordan Morris and the forty eighth minute on an assist from Nicholas Ladero his ninety fourth in Rave Green, and then Albert Russnach slamming home the winner in the ninetieth minute and a b about ten minutes of defense in the added time as eight were added that turned into ten and a great job by the Sounders defensively

to keep it locked down and get the two to one win. Jackson Felts and Pete Fewing here on the post match show and pee before we look ahead to Portland. I guess this is part of the looking ahead to Portland. So with this Sounders Portland Timbers. This Saturday pre match show will start at seven pm right here Sports Radio nine fifty KJR AM kickoff right after seven thirty at Loomanfield. You can watch the match via MLS Season Pass on the Apple

TV app. As I mentioned, listen right here. Sports Radio nine fifty KJR AM also lay thirteen sixty in Spanish with the Providence Swedish prematch show starting at seven pm here on KJR and you can get your tickets today by visiting SOUNDERSFC dot com, slash tickets and Pete. As we begin kind of looking ahead in depth to this match, I think our broadcast director here, Keiley, brought up a great point, which is that ral Rudiez didn't play at

all tonight in the two to one win at Austin. How motivated is he going to be going into Saturday's big match, assuming he's going to be starting at striker. I think he's going to be very motivated. But I don't know that we can assume that. Oh wonder if you know Jordan Morris gets to play up front, he gets the goal, what does coach do? Sometimes you say, hey, he got it done, which is more fire? More would on the fire for Ruy Diaz there you go, So I

would I would think he would start. I don't think you go double air. You're gonna put your your top eleven that you feel And I think that's Morris maybe on the right and then and then Ruy Diaz up front. I know that's what it is. Uh So I think that's what's going to be the case. But I think I think of Nico Ladero and Raoul Ruidias as sort of a package. And I can see Nico saying, come on, we need you. Everybody knows what you can do. Let's get it done.

And it's kind of a you know, he it's a big stage for Raoul and he will come and rested. Danny Jackson talked about the weather down there. You know, makes your body feel better when you don't play and you're in that warm climate, you feel good. Right, So hopefully he got the rest that he needs, uh and and will come out guns ablazing against a team right now that's a little bit rudderless because their head coach is no longer with them, right, that's exactly right. They fired head coach

Giovanni Savarey say, just last week. And you know, as we look at scores in mlsall when we look at the Pearland Timber as they're currently leading Real saw Lake at home by a score of one nothing. So if they win, they would be riding high just like the Sounders. Quickly with some other scores before we continue on Portland. San Jose leading La Galaxy two to one. Houston getting a two to nothing win against Columbus at home. That's

big for Houston to rise up to fourth place in the conference. Vancouver getting a one nothing win over Chicago, that's good for their playoff hopes. Saint Louis beating Dallas two to one. That's big for them as they continue to forty seven points now topping the Western Conference. Minnesota beating Colorado three nothing. They're now back in the playoff picture as they jump Austin. Austin now on

the outside looking in. Also Toronto beating Philadelphia, Cincinnati beating Atlanta, New York City meeting Montreal, New England beating New York, and then Charlotte Orlando playing to a draw. Also Miami and Nashville played to a draw. So

Messy didn't get his win there against Nashville at home. But Pete to continue on that Portland conversation, you know, if they're coming off of a win, coming in, we talk a lot about, you know, momentum, We talk a lot about, you know, sometimes facing a team that just lost its head coach. And there's two ways of course about it. Is the rudderless part is certainly there naturally, you know, and we you know, and Portland having to shuffle things around to get a leader in place.

But then there's also the part of players then being motivated for jobs and you know, wanting to potentially make their new boss proud and make you know, potentially any other boss that they may have an MLS proud. So these are players that are still going to be motivated, you know, for whatever reason, especially coming off of a potential win that where they're leading one nothing right now. Absolutely, there's a lot of things that will get that Portland Timbers

team fired up the victory, the four one victory back at Portland. They would love to claim sort of a sweep where Seattle doesn't get a win. All they had at zero zero draw here earlier in the year. So everybody liked Geo, right, Brian Schmitzer, That's not easy to like the Portland Timbers coach when you're the Seattle Sounders head coach. Right, it's built into the DNA of the two clubs. But Brian liked Geos. It's so easy with Caleb Porter. Oh yeah, yeah. If he was our coach,

I'm not sure anybody would like him. But anyway, I shouldn't said that. Do you have a dump buttoner? So sorry? Sorry? Sorry? So So I think that there's a lot of reason, and you're right. If they beat RSL, then I think they're gonna come in flying high and they're gonna try to make something out of this season. And you're right. In the pro game, you're trying to make sure you have another contract and you want to make sure that whatever whoever ends up taking over sees the highlights

of what you can do for your squad. So this could be, this will be a good one. Both teams will be coming in from different angles, but both teams will be coming in with a lot of desire motivation behind us. So let's look at the little logic behind the substitute tonight and what

that could tell us about what Brian Schmenzer does coming up this Saturday. And I'm going to kind of play process of elimination here going through the entire starting eleven and you cut me off if you think I'm wrong on any of this. Stephen Frying goal because he is the man and had a phenomenal day today.

Alex Roldan did not play tonight. He's back at right back. Knew went the full game, So theoretically you could make a sub there, but I think Knew, who's a guy that can play a million minutes in a week and be completely fine. Yeah, he stayed home a lot. I don't think he put in a tremendous amount of you if you follow his GPS running for the day, I don't think it was beyond being able to go

again and having the same kind of role against the Timbers. Staying home in other words, so I can see him for sure being the starter there as well. So then Gomez Andrade came in late in this game, in the eighty fourth minute. He's a starter. He sits alide alongside Jackson Reagan. I think that's pretty set. Eleven shoutouts with those guys, yep, and then you kind of been build up from here. So Juel Polo came out at halftime for Albert Russknack. I think it's pretty fair. Juel Polo is

going to start against the Pearland Timbers. Obed Vargas then came onto the field in the second half. I believe in this game, so Obed is a potential can it to start or you could you know, Albert Russknack came on at halftime. He could potentially start next to Joel Polo. So Russknack slash Obed. Jordan Morris is going to start in this game. He came off early. He's coming off of a goal. Jordan Morris will start. The only question then, is is it Jordan on the right, Leo Chu on

the left, Rollo up top, Niko in the middle. Is it Jordan upped? I think I think Rollo has to play. I think Rollo didn't play tonight. I think he has to start. So there's role. So then Jordan is he on the left with a russknack on the right or is it a shuffle around? I mean, how do you think Brian organizes this considering the fact that also Nicholas Lederl played I believe the entire natch tonight.

No, so that's a lot of minutes on Nico's legs, although he didn't cover as much ground as he normally does, and so that's a good thing on a couple of the levels. But I think you're right. The back four is knew who Reagan, uh Gomez and Trotty and then and then Alex rolled on. I think the right's gonna be Morris. I think it's gonna be uh Jp and Russneck because you've got a goal, you want to reward that. And I think it's gonna be Chew on the left with Nico in

the middle. Nico in the middle and Raoul up front. And then I think what they were trying to implement was getting Morris next to Raoul, So focus going down the left hand side and then try to get Morris up a little bit higher and have Alex slide in a little bit higher as well,

so I can see them going back to that. They've been working on it, and I think that's almost one three one four two, as as as Albert pushes up to and finds that pot in the attack for sure, and then and then they'll go back to you know, the four two three. But I just think it's logical. The players can't argue those decisions. Even

guys did do a good job today. It's the Portland Timbers, and you want to put out your strongest suit, and I think Russnat gets it because he did score a very good goal, absolutely, and you want to you want to kind of encourage that it's hard to keep a guy off the field if he does that game winning it's impossible. Yeah, I absolutely agree.

So there we go. There's our best guests, but ultimately we'll be with Brian Schmitzer and the entire coaching staff to determine there on Saturday what it will be.
