Hello, I am Palely Dunning and Welcome to the Sounders FC Premout Show, presented by Providence, Swedish,
official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. Our prematch crew is live from the Saunders FC and bud Light watch party at Alesian Fields, just a few steps away from Lumanfield, right in the heart of Pioneer Square. With me to break down all of the action ahead of your Sounders taking on Minnesota United at Alliance Field. The Kaptin himself Sounders legend Brad Evans Brad, I guess we decided to be twinsies today. Yeah, I think this is the appropriate attire
for these sorts of things. Now, we gotta get some good Jude. You're going in these jerseys, so I'm not sure what jersey they're wearing today. I hope it's this one. We need some good vibes thick. Yeah. Now they're in the Rave green, but just so everyone knows, I guess it's radio. You can't see us. So we're wearing the Bruce Lee kits. And we are also here with Chance Fry, former Sounders forward from
the NASL and APSL days. Chance. I was doing a little bit of research and I figured out that you were a Sounder's first round draft pick back in the day. I was back in the day, and I grew up in the Lake Hills area and the local team was my favorite team, and I wanted to play for him, and so that's the way I went. I love it. Jackson Felt and Marcus Hanneman. We'll have the call in just under an hour. By the way, guys, how many beers do
you think Marcus has had before he calls the game today? Marcus's pregame intake is light. I think he likes to ease himself so that by postgame he's really saying what the truth. Juice is what we call it for Marcus. So I'm excited to hear him in that ninetieth minute. Things go well, we're good and if things don't go well, we'll see the real Marcus.
Yet that good al bud light truth juice over there. Now. The Sounders are on the road for a two match stretch before hosting Portland Timbers back here at lumin Field on September second. Unfortunately, we are coming off a disappointing Tuna loss at home to Atlanta United. Brad, you know you were at that match, break down, break it down for us, what went wrong? What did you see? Yeah, look, it's a good Atlanta United
team and they came in motivated. And for the Sounders losing in league's cups so early, we thought that would be a great opportunity for them to get to get prepped like a second preseason, is what we talked about before the game, and we thought they'd come out fresh, rejuvenated, and they just came out flat. And that was about as strong of a lineup that the
Sounders are gonna field this whole season. Maybe you you plug in Christian rolled on at some point, but that was the opportunity for some of those guys to really get their legs and put the ball in the back of the net, and they just they just could not do it. Yeah, you chance go part No. I just totally agree with Brad there. And defensively, I mean, you need a body up on people, especially on free kicks, corners and things like that. You really get physical and take care of
the defensive part of things as well as trying to get the goals. It was a tough game too. I think the aqui was one seventy four. Yeah, but that's doesn't matter. And you you factor on the Atlanta's coming from the opposite side of the country. So any time a team came into this place and they were coming from anywhere other than you know, the West coast, that was always our chance to the first ten minutes of the game.
You gotta go. You gotta go hard. Right. Anytime that you guys traveled east right, playing New York, play playing Florida, wherever it was, you know that they were going to jump on you, right, and then the sounders just could not get that done. This past weekend, guys, sound wave, Hello, sound waves in the house. Sound Wave is in the house. One can hear them listening. I saw them coming into a lens and I got so excited. All right, so the sounder
is currently Yes, we had a disappointing loss. Currently sit in fourth place and the Western Conference ten wins and nine losses, six Straws, thirty six points behind RSL, LAFC and Saint Louis. So, yes, we had a disappointing return from a Cup exit, but the team is in a pretty good position going into the last nine games of the season. Yeah. I mean, you look at the Sounders record right now. It's not great, but we still have a winning record and that's something you can kind of hang
your hat on at this point in the season. If you can build off of this, that's great. Luckily, yesterday every team above us lost, so today only matters if you get the result because we'll have a game ahead of everyone else. But this is not indicative of who the Sounders are, right, This is not who we know the Sounders to be. So this opportunity, it's going to be a really difficult place to play in Minnesota.
Who we've had a tremendous record against we all know in the past, last year and this year, every team that we've had a good record against, we can't seem to get the job done. Kansas City comes in here, they hadn't won a game since the start of the season, after eight or nine games and then all of a suddeny beat the Sounders in Seattle. So I'm kind of throwing records out the window and now it's just up to the
guys to get the job done. Yeah. Absolutely, I would think that, I'll tell you myself, and I would hope the Sounders fans would feel totally confident. When you look at this lineup, there's lots of goals in it. I know we haven't gotten goals, and you know, we all have to believe in Brian and his staff and doing the right things. And we, as Brad just mentioned, we've had a great record against Minnesota.
So I think today is the day we're going to bust it. That you're a forward, right, Yeah, what do you tell Raoul in this case? How do you how do you get him to put the ball in the back? Then? Is a case of him or is a case of service? Where's it coming from? Where's the breakdown? I think that that's just something where as a striker, it can become a mental thing and you start thinking too much and you start hesitating, waiting for the perfect shot instead of
just being reactive. When Rollo has scored goals. They've been amazing, Right. He just does things and you go, what was he thinking when he did that? It was he's incredible, So I think he just needs to get back on that. We need to get Jordan getting some goals. There's plenty of goals in the team. We just need to get that one and get it growing. Get the results. Really, the result is the most important thing. Get there and then move on right and get on a winning
streak. So you guys have both played before, how important is mindset in this final stretch and how also important is it to really get on a hot streak going into the postseason, which we assume not on would we will be making the postseason this year? For me, it was always I know that falls approaching, and that's my favorite time to play because I know here in Seattle, the rain starts to fall, the leaves start to change on the trees, and that was my time to go and push because it's either I
have a postseason or I have a crazy long offseason. I never wanted a long offseason. I always wanted to play deep into the playoffs and show what it means to be a sounder and leave everything out there. I mean, not everything has been rosy for the Sounders. We've had to play play in games just to make the playoffs, and so we've had seasons where it hasn't been great, but we've always at least made it to the postseason. Now, the question is it's mindset for sure, because the team is good enough,
but there's something not clicking there. So I think it's a matter of the group getting on the same page. Like Chance said, just get that victory and then you can build off of that. Yeah. No, absolutely, And if you look at the record of MLS, most teams that win you not go you know, from start to finish ahead. A lot of teams are coming from behind at the end. They're getting caught at the right
moment and finishing strong. Timing is everything right? Transitioning now to the delta, starting eleven, Brett, I will hand off the lineup to you for our Seattle Sounderies. All right, a couple of changes this week, but you got Stephen frying Gold. The backfol remains the same with Alex Roldan, Yamar Jackson, Reagan Knew, who had left back Jao Paulo, and Obed Vargas snumbs in as a number six with him, which you probably might see
him sit a little bit more. And then you have Albert Rusnak on the right, Nico Ledero as your number ten, Jordan Morris back out on the left, Chew takes a break this week, and then Raoul up top. So another strong lineup and giving something is not clicking for Schmitz. And he said, right, Chew is an exciting player, but he needs, I think, to take a step back and look at the game from a more
tactical point of view. And he wanted more defending from his wingers. That's what he set up to the postgame last game, and so Jordan wasn't giving him that, and she wasn't giving him what he wanted. So now he's gonna put Albert on the right, allow Alex to get up the field more. You know, we need service at the end of the day too. I don't care if you're if you're the smallest guy in the field. I talk to the strength and conditioning coach. I said, how much does roll
Away really She said one thirty eight to one forty. Now that blew my mind. One hundred and thirty eight pounds. But at the end of the day, she said, he's the strongest pound profound player on the team, and so I don't care if you're going up against someone who's six seven. Freddy Montero used to do it and score goals. So we need service from
different areas. It's got to be from Nico, it's got to be from wide and Jordan getting cutting in on the on the end line and playing balls on a diagonal, So mixing up the line up a little bit along with service in goals. We're talking about goals a lot because we want to get some more of them. But we also have to stop leaking goals too, stop giving away easy ones. Okay, defense wins championships and you've got to hold people to nothing. Get a clean sheet. It'd be great to get
a couple of goals, two three goals and a clean sheet. I think clean sheets very important to start feeling. Yeah, so speak well, why do you guys pay your coach's hats on for a second, How difficult was that conversation with Leo Shoo telling him that he is not starting considering his run of form. Well, if you had to choose anyone from the starting lineup, that's going to be your go to guy to say, hey, you're gonna sit, and Schmitz is smart enough to say this is why he's not
just gonna make the decision the day before Leo thinks he's starting. So hopefully that conversation happened early in the week so that the whole team can prepare as a starting unit and Leo can have time to decompress, really watch video and take an internal image of Okay, why am I not producing in these moments? Why am I not doubling back and defending as much as I was maybe early in the season, especially that Kansas City game. Right, he was
putting in the effort on offense and defense. So there's something missing for him, and so he can take a step back look and say, okay, this is why I'm out. But I think Schmitz is you know him right, He's gonna sit you down and be honest. That's the one thing you have to give Schmitz for. He's totally honest. And I'll tell you what, As an attacking player, sometimes getting sat down is a good thing, you know what. It either you either quit or lights a fire and you're
ready for when your chance comes. So if he gets into the game, hopefully he'll be super fired up and can make something happen. And then let's talk about Jordan on the left and Albert on the right. In our production meeting, we talked to the coach Schmutzen. He said that midway through the game he'll start to see Albert and Jordan's switch. What do you guys sort of expect to see there? And with Albert back on the right side,
well, look, I think games tend to play themselves out. If Jordan has success on the left hand side in the first fifteen twenty minutes, I don't see him switching shuns. He's just gonna go and go and go. And Jordan's the type of player where we have to be in his ear on the sideline. If if I'm a right back in this league, that's pretty much the last player I want to I want to play against. Yeah, and if Jordan uses his speed, I mean, you've seen him since he
was a youngster. That is his biggest weapon. It's not aerial duels, it's not the stepovers. It's baiting your defender, taking a big touch and just blowing by him. And I don't care if it doesn't happen in the first two or three. All we need is one or two to happen in a half, and so I just don't see it happening them switching unless the Sounders are you know, nil nil at halftime or down one nothing, and
really the left back is struggling, so we'll see. I think that's just Schmetz maybe blowing some smoke, trying to light a fire under these guys, saying if you don't work, we're gonna have to switch something. Yeah. No, I would like to see Jordan. I always want to see Jordan early On just go at the defender because they are just absolutely panicking when they do, because he's so quick and just blowing by guys and either getting shots
off or getting some process in love it all right. Now, let's dive into the Providence Swedish team health report. Our injuries, Kellen Row still out, Dylan Tevez with a hamstring screen and Christian rolled On did not travel due to krink cushion protocol. Today's team health report is presented by a Providence,
Swedish official healthcare partner of Shouters at Sea. Now, I don't want to look past Minnesota yet, but before we get to the break, let's look holistically at the next week because we have three games in that entire week, So we did talk to coach about rotation, about how he sees the lineup
playing out in those three games. This one obviously is strong lineup. Midweek against Austin, he's saying, we'll see a lot of the younger guys, a lot of you know, up and comers, maybe Paul roth Rock will be in there, maybe some like again, like I said, the younger blood. And then versus Portland, he said, strong lineup. We need to win that game. Is that the approach that you know you should be
taking. Absolutely? I mean, you have these two away games coming up back to back, and that's the most difficult thing to do in Major league soccers get results on the road back to back. So if they can get the win today, it sets up big changes on Wednesday night against an Austin team that's struggling. And we've gone in there before with a lineup that's been weak, weaker, right, young guys and then a couple of guys come
on at the end and make a big difference and get a result. So if things play out the way that we want them to, the Sounders get a result here, they make some changes mid week and then you come back with a full strength lineup. You might even see Christian rolled on on the weekend. Who knows, that might be his coming back. And Portland has had so much success here the past couple of years. In Seattle, it's
it's unacceptable. Yeah, and so this one the guys have to write the ship And Schmitz is already thinking about that one if he's talking about it in the press. Yeah, it's not only important from the Winds standpoint, but just from a mental standpoint, a prize standpoint of not letting them come into
our building get anything. We don't want them. All right, We are forty minutes away from kick here at the Emerald Queen Casino prematch show at woman Field, or close to Womanfield. Welcome back to the Sounders of s premoutch show presented by a prominent Swedish kille Gunning. Here was Sounders Legends Brad Evans and
Champ Fry at the Sounders of Seawatch party at Alesian Fields. Now we went through our starting lineup for our sounders. Time for the opponent Minnesota United chance, would you like to do the honors? Absolutely? In goal. We've got Dane Saint Clair, three defenders at the back, Miguel Tapias, Ethan Bristow, Michael Bauxhall, and the five midfielders they got most to Joseph Rosalas, Emmanuel Reinoso, the captain, Will Trap, Jan Gregis and DJ Taylor
and Hassani Dotson and upfront Tamu Pouki. Any initial thoughts on Minnesota starting eleven guys, Uh no, I have no thoughts on them. I just want to honestly, you know what, at the end of the day, I've always thought that you want to think about your team more than the other team, And uh, you know what, they're just people on the other side of the field, and we have a better sign up than they do,
and we're going to take care of him. Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how Minnesota actually lines up. If they do play in a three five two, that could cause problems. So the Sounders in the midfield, right, you got a young guy in Obed stepping in and I see them causing some problems today at home. Because Reinoso is a top player and hooky finished international. I think is he he's been a goal scorer. Oh yeah, he's a big time goal scorer. And he's a big body up top,
and he's fast and he's a big presence. But you know, at the end of the day, Chance said, it's up to the Sounders to maintain possession. That guy for them has always been Will Trapped, whether he's in Columbus or he's in Minnesota. He's an iron man and he knows MLS like the back of his hand, and he can play with the best of him, and he can keep possession. He can dictate the tempo of a game. So that's someone that the Sounders are gonna have to look out for.
Even though he's you know, he's not flashy, he doesn't win headers. He really is just a calming presence in the midfield that kind of dictates sings and then allow Reinoso to do what he wants to do and spray the ball. Because he's such he's such a difference maker for them. All right,
it's a little bit more. I'm Gonnis United and today's sharp vision opponent outlet a couple of quick hitters eight eight and seven thirty one points, negative two goal differential versus are positive four, which Brod I know is a big indicator for you Gold at front sal how light good a team is Minunesota's hold four him though shockingly poor two two and six at home. How are we going to take advantage of that? Or you gotta start off hot early and put
him under the gun. Because a team like that that's two two and six at home, that says there's weakness there, and that's more mental anything, and we've experienced it here against teams, and so the Sounders have to go in there and take advantage of that and say if we get up one, two nothing early, you have to close the game out because their record shows
that they can't get a result at home. I hesitate to even say this, but it would it would not be an opponent outlook if I didn't say what our record is against Minnesota and it's eleven one and one including postseason. I don't want to jains us. I don't want to put us in a position where it's another team coming in to break a streak against us. But I mean, we've had their number. What is it about Minnesota that we have so much success against this franchise? I'll tell you what. It's how
we used to be up in Vancouver as well. It's not only the confidence that you have going in there, but it's the non confidence that they have against you. They they've already in their mind thinking, Okay, we're going to find a way to drop this one, right, and they I'm looking at their last five MLS games. They're struggling to score goals and they're giving up goals as well, so they're not in a great position yet. It's
it's a mindset thing. And at the end of the day, you know that they're reporters from Monday of this week, I have been asking the same question, Hey, the team you're playing is eleven one and one, and some of the guys may not have even been there for those results, and they're thinking, oh, how are we How have we only gotten one win against this team? So they're already thinking that in that mental process. So the Sounders have to take advantage of that and really put them down when they
can. Right, you go up one nothing early, you have to keep going. You have to keep going and put them out of their misery. And then on the flip side, though, on the Sounders end their mindset going up against a team where they have so much success, how do you stay sharp and not complacent? Are there are there franchises that you guys in your playing days when you used to play them and you just had their number,
and what was your mindset going into those? I would think going into this one that we're not going to be overly confident, just because of where we've been in the last few games. In my mind that Schmetz is a smart guy. He's got them sharp, he's saying all the right things. He's not letting him get over confident and giving them the tools to beat these
guys back. You know, it's it's a tough one honestly. Back in the day, and I know Brad Fields this way too, and you'd go up to Vancouver and it was just like duck right and you'd get it. We'd get a win there. But this one, I don't think we're over We're looking past these guys, but I think we're ready. We've been on the opposite side of that though, too. We against Rail Salt Lake when I came in in two thousand and nine, that was the team that had
our number. We just couldn't get a result away from home against them. Only only I think one one or two times ever, and that's shocking in you know, twelve thirteen plus years and so. But we always had their number at home. It felt like we always could get the job done at home. So this one's a bit of an anomaly for me because we've gotten the results here and we've gotten them away from home. So maybe it's just one of those ones where we just always find a result. Yeah, we
did defeat Minutes so they visited us to back in April. We did defeat them. Albert Rosenap scored that goal. But Aminulari news I did not play in that game. Yeah, he's the biggest He's the biggest game change the teams need to win. Uh, it's you're playing at home, you're under pressure, the fans are there. Sometimes it's easier to play away. You know, we don't have to entertain them. We just have to get get the job done. Hi the way, Minnesota, great fan base on our

Jackson Felt and Marcus Hannman will help the call as we count down to a one fifty five official kickoff. Well, guys, we just heard from Saunders goalkeeper Stuff and Fry, who spoke with Jackson
Felts earlier this week about a major milestone he reached. With three hundred and forty appearances across all competitions, he has the most appearances in franchise history. A cool moment in stadium, Ozzy Alonzo held hand off a jersey and plaque to honor the goalkeeper for his achievement guys just talk about three hundred and forty appearances with one club. How impressive is that? Yeah, you rarely rarely see it, and it's a testament to his will in longevity and how he
takes care of his body. Right, I've seen him since twenty fourteen and his willingness to put his body on the line to what the team needs. He did say they worked harder than everyone else. But I'm not sure he's ever ran for ninety minutes of those three hundred and forty games, but maybe total he's ran for ninety minutes. But I mean, honestly, he's in the gym constantly. He takes care of his body. You know what he intakes. He's he's doing all the necessary things to make sure that he has
the longest career possible. And that's a testament to who he is and to have him back there, it's it's it's like your best friend you've known for a long time. You can just trust him, right, you can tell him anything and you know that he's going to be there, and that's what you want out of your goalkeeper. He's not looking to make the leap to Europe. He's here because he wants to be a sounder. He's made this his home and I think that speaks volumes of the type of person and player
he is. Yeah, it's it's very impressive and not very many people can do that, and it's comforting to the coach where he can look down on the lineup sheet and he writes his name down very quickly, and to have him healthy all the time or most of the time is a great feeling. He's a great keeper. Fry leads this MLS the season with eleven clean sheets, second in the league with a point nine to one goals against average chance. He talked about this earlier in the first segment. But how important has
a lights out goalkeeper bid for us this season? Well, I mean anytime that you can, you know, make mistakes, but you've got somebody back there who can save your butt and make critical saves. It's awesome, right and quite honestly, that's that's their job and that's what they want to do. Most goalkeepers probably don't want to just sit back here and do nothing. They're happy if they get a clean sheet, but they want to do, you know, get in the action and when Stepic can make a great save
to get a clean sheet or to help the team do well. He's super happy about it. I mean, this guy leads the league in clean sheets, and without that, the Sounders probably find themselves six or seven spots below where they are now. So we owe a lot to step this season. And if he can, you know, right the ship defensively and get those guys really organized. You've seen him now where the captains aren't banned, and so I think that leans what Schveetzer wants to do is lean on him for
that. We have to get shutouts and he's gonna have to leave from the back. Like you said, it wins championships. And so for these guys to be successful these last nine games, it has to start with him. And I think the onus is on him now and he's probably feeling a little bit of pressure. But also that's good, right, you want you want pressure as a player, Yeah, and there should be a team pride to help your goalkeeper keep that under one the whole season. That would be an
amazing statistic. And it's not just I mean, clean sheets are not just the goalkeeper, as you know brand. They you have to have all ten players in front of the keeper doing their job, working hard, all the way from the front players all the way through well and step Bright We've trusted this season. We're getting ready ahead of a one fifty five kickout from Alliance Field. Just a reminder, the Sounders do return home on September twod to host rival Portland Timbers. Tickets are still available for a rivalry match we will not want to miss. Make sure to visit Sounders f
seat dot com slash tickets to save your seat today. Yes, we've been struggling against the Timbers of late, but you guys, how important is it that we fill the stands and we've turned it into a fortress next weekend? Well, I think you've been doing it since what nineteen eighty three against that
team, so you probably have a better take. I just think it's super important to What we don't want is what we had last year, when when you've got a small group of Portland fans cheering outter than the rest of the stadium. We cannot have that, so we want to pack the stadium. I know that the Sounders ticket people are trying to do youth tickets and things like that, and we need to get everybody out there, all the season ticket holders will be there and pack the rest of the stating, yeah,
I get it, loud. I think this is the one when you're when you're a player, it's the first thing you look at when you look at the schedule. When do we play Portland at home? Because that is the biggest chance you get to showcase yourself against a rivalry team that you just don't like, you hate, you like, You hate to lose for them more than you like to win against them. And if that isn't grained in the
guys, it should be a good result. But like you said, history hasn't been in our favor against them, So it's sound to right the ship. You know what, Timing is everything, and this home stretch going into the postseason, Portland's been struggling. They lost again. You know, now's the time. Now's the time. Now's the time. Back to Danny's match versus the Minnesota Minnesota fee We did our opponent outlook earlier in the show. Now let's talk about how the Sounders can break down a what has so far
been a playoff worthy Minnesota side. Brad Chance, who are players to watch? I'll start with you Brad, Yeah, I think for me tonight is about JP. You're playing away from home, and like I said about will Trap for Minnesota, JP's our guy that has to control the pace of the game. If we can get off to the on the right foot and get one early or even in the first you know, even in the first half. JP has to be the guy to slow us down. I think that's
what we missed against Monterey. We went up to nothing in the first nine minutes and then no one was there to take a hold of the game and say, hey, we only need one more goal and we have eighty minutes to do it. We don't need it in the first half, we don't even need it early in the second half. We can get it at any time. And so I think he needs to take this team, buy the neck and say this is my team. I'm gonna control everything from front to
back. I'm going to be that guy. He's got to do that today at Minnesota. All right, chance player to watch. I totally agree with you, and if he does that, it will give Ralrydiaz the chance to shine here today. I don't want to discount Jordan doing something as well, but what we need is our attackers to be free to go forward, to express themselves and to not worry about things behind him. And as Brad pointed out, JP's the guy to do that hold everything to get my player to
watch is Jordan Morris because I want to see him score. I want him see him in the double digits. I think he's having a baby soon, So it's time. It's time to celebrate. Time to celebrate. Throw the soccer ball under their jersey. Yeah, give the family what he wants, all right, guys, Well, don't look at your rundowns because I accidentally put some trivia answers on there. How are we feeling ahead of this game?
Guys? How are we How are we feeling well? Good vibes? Yeah, good vibes. I think, like we said, every team above us lost last night, So list an opportunity for the guys to get on the right foot. And for the Sounders it's another strong lineup. You have Obed back at a number six, Leo two takes a break, Jordan back on the left, and Albert will play more of an advanced role on the right hand side, kind of you know, combining with Alex and let him
stretch his legs in Minnesota today. So I think for both of us excited about today. Yeah, totally excited and feeling confident about the team, and I always believe in Schmetz. Schmetz has done a great job over his career to put together the right team at the right moment, and I think you'll do it today, all right, Yeah, in Schmetzer, we trust.
So if you're just joining us, we went through our opponent outlook scouting report on Minnesota as we get ready for kickoff, I think it might be a little fun to do a little bit of trivia and again, like I said, turn and run downs over I put the answers on them. Sorry, guys. First question, how many regular season wins do the Sounders have over Minnesota United? Well, eleven overall, so maybe eleven, but it could be playoffs. That could be in playoffs too, so I'm gonna say ten.
Kind of a trick trick question. Yeah, it's it is ten. We have one playoff win, which I'll bring into the next question. What is a scoreline from that twenty twenty Western Conference Final which we defeated Minnesota twenty twenty. This was the COVID year, no fans in the stadium. What was the scoreline? I'm gonna guess three two. It was three two. Congratulations. I think that it was on the broadcast. No, I didn't look at it, okay, And who scored the game winner? Well,
there was one mazy run. No, that wasn't Jil Paolo. I'm gonna go with No, I'm gonna go with JP in that game. Chance Jordan goostops fence and header. It was a goostops fence and header. Extra credit. He would he would be assist. We'll say Nico. I mean that's a good guess. Yes, it was Nico with a cross off a corner off, a corner of the kick. That's right. Yeah, that was a great game. Everyone watching from their their living rooms. That was wild,

All right, we are very close to get We are ten minutes to kick off and before we send it off to Jackson Felt and Marcus Hannaman. But quickly, guys, what are our keys to success tonight today? Excuse me today? Well, it has to be a well rounded game today. It cannot just be we're gonna go for it and try to get goals and then we're going to leave ourselves exposed at the back. So to win away from home, it's got to be a complete game. So it goes one
of two ways. You know, you're in the sixty seventieth minute where nil nil, maybe maybe you play for a tie and you lock things down in the back and then you get that shut out that Chance talked about, and then you build into that game against Austin, or we get off to a great start and we'd find some some keys in the early half that we can break them down and get a couple of goals. So overall, it just has to be a solid game tonight. Chance, Yeah, I would just
agree. And we've talked about the goals, and we've talked about defending, and it's all as Brad just said, a well rounded game. You've got to do both things. You can't do just do one or another not gonna win the game. Ten to nine. So we need to get some goals, but we also need to do have some very good defending and you know, be strategic about it. It's your first game of two on the road. You might have to rest a couple of people so you can get another
result in the next game and then come back to play Portland. So all right, final predictions, guys, dare I ask chance, I'm gonna say, uh, three one us. Yeah, I would love to see two nothing, But realistically, I'm gonna say two one. I want to I want to see like a cluster, very clear. Yeah, Sounders win, all right, you know, and I'm gonna go with two Neil. I like it. I'm gonna go with two Noil. I like the clean sheet we've been talking about, you know, talking up stuff deservedly, so I
want to see a clean sheet. I want to see multiple goals. Raoul. I'd love to see you get on the score sheet, and I'd love to see Jordan get back on there time. Maybe we're looking at the standings live on TV right now. It should be a win. Right If you're going off standings, you always look down and say we can get a result
against these guys, especially with their form at home. If you're looking at the standings, it's four verse ten right now, I think, And it has to be a game at the Sounders feel confident, even though they're not
playing great right now, to go in there and get a result. You know what I was thinking about this, We've had so much success about we've had so much success versus Minnesota, and maybe it's Minnesota is always kind of one of those teams that they're really good, but they're always just slightly worse than us, and we just always find a way. Can we just always find a way to win? Could be? Yeah, it could be. I don't know. Today is a different day, a different team, and
different year, different times. You also wouldn't expect the other four teams ahead of us, or three teams ahead of us to have lost last night, all three of them, right they were playing lesser opponents. So MLS is wild like that, The parody is crazy, and you never know what you're gonna get. He gives you. You can stay calm a little bits because there's not that that pressure that oh everybody else one we have to And so I think we're gonna be get today. Yeah, let's just live it in
a vacuum. Ignore the other results around the league, ignore the standing, ignore everything just mentally for us, Let's just go out there and get three points. That's right now. You know when got the week up for success. They're warm enough. Jordan. I looked at him, and I've known him since he's eight years old. He had his game face on. He's ready to go there. You go love it all right, Good job, guys, We'll be excuse me, we will not actually be back. Thank
you for listening to the prematch show. We will be back at halftime as Sounders get ready to take on Minnesota United. Stay tuned, it's going to be a good one. Jackson Felts Marcus Hannaman with the call at KGr Studios.

Welcome to Sounders FC Soccer on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJRFM, or today your Seattle Sounders will face off against the Loons. We've only beaten the Rave Green once in thirteen regular season matches, and while Minnesota
is only two two and six at home twenty twenty three. This is MLS and as we saw it even just yesterday, anything can happen in this wild Western conference. So welcome in to today's broadcast. My name is Jackson Felts, and alongside being for today's call is fellow Pacific's at a Seattle Pacific University
grad and local soccer legend, Marcus Hanneman. Marcus, things haven't been too pretty for the Sounders over the last few weeks or so, but you know, with nine games left in the MLS regular season, Brian Schmenzer and company A're gonna come in with a plan to day to turn things around. Well they have to, right, It's a such a big deal that Sounders have such a great start to the season and they're kind of resting on that a
little bit. Their recent forum hasn't been great and Minnesota has been playing okay, So it's gonna be an interesting game away from home with the Sounders. Are they going to approach the game differently? How how's it going to look out? And the lineup is pretty much what we figured, so there's no real big changes there, but a big game for the Sounders. You're absolutely right. Let's get to the delta. Starting eleven for the Sounders right now.
It is Stephen Frying gold Fry who recorded his three hundred and fortieth all time appearance for the Seattle Sounders last week that set a club record, passing Azzy Alonzo, who is in town by the way with Atlante United last week. You're back four of this four two three one includes knew who on the left, Jackson Reagan, Yamar Gomizan Drawti your center backs, Alex rolled On at the right back spot. Oh Bet Vargas is sitting next to Jul Paulo
in the holding midfield. Jordan Morris starts on the left wing, Nicholas Sladero in the middle, Albert Rusnak goes on to the right side, with ral rudy As up top and Marcus. Yeah, that is a strong line up. No Christian rolled On should mention he's not also on the bench, still working back from his concussion just you know, a while back. And you know, it's it's tough not to have Christian, but you know, considering what Brian Schmitzer has available, Yeah, this is still a strong starting eleven
for sure. And you know, we're both huge fans of Christian rolled in and he's been you know, the engine of this team. And and you know, but we got young players and Ed Vargas is kind of stepping into that role a little bit, I think. And but he's playing next to JP right. So you talk about our lineup, we have, We've got experience, We've we've got we've got the quality to be able to get a result here today. For sure, we absolutely do. Sounders coming off of
the two nothing loss against Atlanta United back at Looman Field last week. For Minnesota, they're coming off of a two nothing win. They were able to go to New York City and beat NYCFC two nothing last weekend. Jan greg Gush and Mender Garcia had goals. Gregush who was starting in the midfield for Minnesota today along with a Timu Pouki, and as we get ready and get
going from Aulion's Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Timu Pouki is the one who kicks things off for Minnesota. It's a bright and sunny day there in Saint Paul, a nice summer afternoon here in Minnesota. As a long ball will reach Stephen Fry, Minnesota trying to go over the top in the first couple of minutes of this game, Marcus, but nothing doing, and Fry will road out to Jackson Reagan. Here is the Sounders are getting things going.
As you mentioned, we will see how Brian Schmitzer sets up his team early in this game, considering they are on the road for sure, and I think, you know, you approach the game differently when you go on the road, right, one of those things where you know, at home you want to go out and your job is also to win the game,
but it's also to entertain the fans. So the Sounders are gonna sit back a little bit, which maybe against a team like Minnesota isn't going to hurt you so much because they're a little bit more direct, and you can see just by the opening kickoff, you know they're playing a long ball forward. But Sounders are gonna, you know, try to keep some possessions, slow
the game down and take the sting out of the game for sure. Sounders with a throw in about fifteen yards into Minnesota's half of the field, knew who to throw it. He sends it into Joel Poulo j while paul working and he finds Obed Vargas. Obed the young young you know, just turned
eighteen years old on August fifth. You know, he's come onto the scene since last year in conkorcalf Champions League and gets another big opportunity here today is Sounders are now just right inside Minnesota's half of the field, finding now Albert russnak Rusnak out to the right side to Alex Roldan, creating a triangle with Gomezan Dratti and they'll have to just send it way back out to Jackson Reagan. Nothing doing there on the right side, so they'll send it out to
the left. Here's knew who knew who looking for a long ball, but nothing doing. Now gets to the middle of the field to duel Paulo trying to find him. Morris. Morris running on that left side. He has the ball, he's getting down there, tries to cross it in but that will go nowhere and eventually gets to a Sounder boot that's Obed Vargas coming up
and Obed Vargas. It looked like a wild ball there after Morris's cross was deflected bob and Obed Vargas came running in to keep the Sounders with possession. Well, and it's promising too, Jordan Morris getting behind early on and a pretty good left foot across cut back to the eighteen. So really nice good pressure from the Sounder. So I just need to keep up those runners in
the box. Knew who with a cross comes in and that shot right back out there from Minnesota, Michael Box all the veteran big six two center back
from Auckland, New Zealand, denying that. Knew who cross coming in and knew who will do it all over again with this throw now coming in two minutes into the game here at Alan's Field in Minnesota, Neil Neil Saunders in Minnesota United As knew who takes a ball towards the end line and that will go out for a that's gonna go out for a throw there to Dame Saint Clair from Minnesota. Knew who not able to keep that inside as he was
once again trying to look across that through. I thought the ref signaled a corner kick there. It looked like it, and eventually they guess they switched it back to a Saint Clair or is it not even even a foul? But either way, Minnesota have the ball and they're gonna bring it up in their midfield. Oh, we never know what the refs are doing, that's for sure. Rainoso trying to take on New and New says no, no, and rain Soo is just gonna send that ball out for a Saunders throw
and he's complaining early on. And listen, Emmanuel or no So at number ten for Minnesota in the same position that Thiago Alma played last week for Atlanta, and Almada had so much space, so much freedom. Sounders need to find a way to shut down Emmanuel Roanoso this week is a long ball to roll Ruy Diaz and roll falls down. No foul called, Minnesota. We'll take this one just inside of their own half, as they're now working up Seattle on the left side looking to get in and they will ball into the
box and that's gonna be deflected out. Jamar Gomezanraide doing a nice job there, on Joseph Rosalis Rosalas who tried to cross the ball into two mupuki. But a good job there from Yamar Gomez Andrada to snuff that out. Yeah, Alex Roldan tried to cut off that pass, wasn't able to get there.
And great kind of shape from the Sounders there. Yeamar is able to slide over cover and you know, Sounders got to defend a corner, but great defensive shape really, you know from hey, a slight mistake, but Yaymar is there to cover it. And now it'll be a corner coming from Emmanuel Ronoso on the far ride. Minnesota attacking left to righte in their black jerseys, Sounders in their rave green tops and blue shorts. A short corner to Stotson back to Renoso cross comes in. It's an open man, but
a nice job there from Rawle Rudias to take that one away. Ra All working with Nico here in the counter attack. Long ball to the left side running is obed Vargas. Can he get to that? He cannot, And that's just sent out from DJ Taylor. This will be a Sounders thrown in Minnesota's side and a nice build towards a counter there from Seattle and they're playing fast here Obed Vargas popping it forward. There's Raoul now just on that left side of the box. Raoul find to work, but DJ Taylor sends it
out again for a throw in throwing down for Minnesota. Actually, they're gonna say the Dj Taylor clearance came off of Obed Vargas and what looked to be a promising Sounders counter attack. Minnesota's gonna get the ball back here. Yeah, it was a great play from Ruy Diaz could be you know, he's back on the edge of the box for the Sounders, defending against that corner kick and is able to pick it up and create a quick counter attack and
Sounder we're a little unfortunate not to create more from that. Yeah, definitely just looking for more speeding an outlet there on the left. It end up being Obed Vargas. DJ Taylor was there, and now Minnesota with the ball in there on half of the field. Where five and a half minutes into this match here from Alliance Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota Sounders and Minnesota United
even at zero right now, they call him the loons. So if we refer to Minnesota United as the Loons throughout the broadcast today, that's who you're gonna be hearing because they are in a warm day in Saint Paul. They're wearing they're all blacks. Sounders in the green with blue shorts. As we mentioned there today, Saunders attacking from right to left as Minnesota just working around the midfield trying to find a ball in and they do over on to the
right side. Now for DJ Taylor into Dawson, Hassani Dotson and christ Across one in, but Jackson Reagan does well to snuff add out and Dawson will have a throw in Hassani Dotson, the Federal Way native who has been a player who's spent many many years with a cross fire Washington Premier and now cross coming in from raynos So. But that will go all the way out for a Stephen Fry goal kick. Yeah, we always like rooting for the local
kids, except when they're playing against us. But the Sounders have had, you know, really good positioning and you know again they got out around the outside a on the Sounders there and Jackson Reagan's there. So the center backs
and the whole back four has been playing pretty solid. You know this year, and you know they've shown that with their goals against average, I think, and you know, even the games they've lost, they've lost, they haven't been blown out of too many games, so they've been looking pretty well organized this year. That's absolutely right. I mean, point nine one goals against average for Stephen Fry, that's the lowest among goalkeepers in MLS with eighteen
plus matches. Stephen Fry has been great this year. As he will send this ball along. He sent his entire backline forward and Morris is gonna head it. But Minnesota will take the ball in their own side of the field and pop it right back to the Sounders side. Long balls back and forth, Jackson, Reagan goes down, Dotson ends up with it, sends it to the middle of the park. Now over on to the left side. Here comes believe Ethan Bristow there on the left and he will find Joseph Razalas
resolves who has to track back just a little bit. And Minnesota's now trying to find some space there on the left side, but they'll have to send it back out to their center backs. It's toppy us. Now over to Michael Boxall boxall walking it over to the right, finds Rainoso. Rainoso to the middle of the field, pops one over open man. But not able to get to that one is Joseph Razalas, who had a runner in the box. Roso popped it over, but that just went about five yards in
front of Zalas, and it's a Sounder's goal kick. And Sounders FC Soccer is presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC. Yeah, I mean even there, Ruy Diaz is, you know, not more than thirty five yards from goal. You know, the Sounders are definitely getting eleven men behind the ball and you know, making it really difficult to break down.
So a team like Minnesota who wants to play a little bit more direct, you know they're gonna definitely have their work cut out for him today at the sound stay organized, and you look at the way Brian Schmencer sets up this team as Stephen Fryes kicking it around with the Yamargomez Andrade. Some booze already coming in from the Minnesota United fans. But if you look at the way it sets up for Brian Schmencer, you know you have Leo chow on
the bench to start this game. Firepower yet could be there in the second half. We'll see how he organizes guys like Jordan Morris and Albert Rusnak as
this game goes along. But if you can get a footing in the first half, first forty five minutes of this game and go into the second half even or even up, theoretically, that's a really nice position for for Brian Schmencer and company if they can just get to that spot with how they set up this team for the first forty five well, having good players and you
know, attacking players is what you need. We've got enough on the field, but when you've got those quality players, and Leo Choos looked like a different player this season. He's he's been able to you know, getting around the back, hitting a lot more crosses in which we talked about on previous broadcasts, and you know, he's looked really dangerous in creating lots of chances this season Minnesota United. With the goalkeeper Dane Saint Clair ball at his feet,
he'll send it out to the left side. Ethan Bristow now gets to resolves in the midfield, resolves trying to get it further up, but that balls taken away from Albert Russknack, Russnack to Joel Paulo JP long bowl over the top, trying to get to Jordan Morris, but it will go into
the arms of Dane Saint Clair Nice trying to use Jordan Morris's speed. That's what we like to see, Marcus, is you know you have a guy who's as fast as Jordan Morris. He's somebody who can stretch the field on the offensive end, and that's how the Sounders can get explosive attacks going didn't reach him that time, but I like seeing that, and I would like to see more of that. Well. It keeps the Minnesota honest as well. So if you never stretched the other team right, they're just gonna stay
up and it makes it harder to play. So a couple of runs in behind the center backs and the whole defense will drop off and it creates more room for you to actually play in the midfield, which is ultimately what the Sounders want to do. Go through their good players in the midfield and moreover, also on the defensive side in transition moments, because transition defense is something the Sounders have certainly been working on. His Minnesota has a throw in here
ten yards into Seattle's half in that transition defense. If you have midfielders clogging up that space, it won't go Rainoso space to work ball into the box to temou Pouki bounces back out to Bristow. Bristow tries to find Pooky on the left side and he will get it right next to the corner post working on Alex Roldan. It's the finished striker trying to get around Alex Roldan. No foul called. Both players go down and the Sounders will come away with
this one with Gomezan, Trotti and Russnack. That's a nice battle like to see the a you know, a veteran, thirty three year old finished striker working on Alex Roldan and ultimately it's rolled on getting the wind there as Minnesota continue to work. Now right around this midfield and here's Dotson and Obed Vargas a brilliant takeaway in the midfield on Hassani, Dots and Ohbed trying to find roll but it's cut out. A nice job there by Miguel Tapias to take
that away from Minnesota. Yeah, great little exchange there. Obed Vargas won the ball back in midfield and just kind of first ten or fifteen yards, nice quick movement forward and almost gets a good counter tech. Obed was trying to run it himself. It was almost like a four on two for a second there, just Obed and roll against the rest of Minnesota's backline. And yes, Obed Vargas is fast, but I wasn't able to create anything out
of there. Is It's like a foul here on Gomez Androtti and Minnesota crying for a yellow. Doesn't look like they're gonna get it as Gomez Andratti, Yeah, foul, Hassani Dotson harp, but Marcus didn didn't seem like a yellow for at least to me. Oh Dotson surprised knew who with his quickness there just stepped in front of him, knew that he had the ball the whole way and give him a good whack. And now Minnesota working on the
left side, Rosola is trying to cross it in. Albert russnach, We'll get in front of that one and send it back out for a Minnesota throw. Where twelve and a half minutes into this match at a Lyon's Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota. No score between your Sounders in Minnesota United today on a very sunny, bright and warm day in Saint Paul. As it looks like Obed gets whacked in the face. No foul called there, Minnesota will bring it forward. Now on the right side is Michael Boxall getting way up
into the midfield. Just outside of the box now to will trap Yon Gray Goose working in the midfield. Here's where I know so Rainoso from distance popping it up, but that will go high above the goal. Did that come off of somebody? I believe it may have. We may be seeing a Minnesota corner coming here. Yeah, Sounders still pretty organized. Their JP's kind of yelling at his teammates to kind of liven up a little bit because he
had to come in and defend. And some last stitch defending their JP came in, you know, and I think he was the one ended up with the block there. But a good, good block from JP. That is good and Ray Nooso can hit a lot of those shots. We've seen it many times over the Year's cross comes in and it's gonna be Joel Paul getting in front of that one. Back out to Rosolis Rosolas Ray knows rainos So on the left side, crossing it in heading Hassan Dackson. That's back out
to Bristow. Bristow popping up back up to the other side, a missheader. Timo Pooki is able to cross this one in, but knew Who gets in front of that one and sends it back out to Timou Pookie who's cross will come now to left side Bristow. Risolas shot just wide right of the goal. Risolas ended up the ball with his feet and did that take another
deflection? It did take another deflection. So another Minnesota United corner coming and Marcus right now we see Minnesota United, you know, getting the ball in the box, getting opportunities, and the Sounders right now are having to withstand this over and over. Another corner coming. Yeah, the sustained pressure is something we talk about a lot if you can keep teams under that. And now the Sounders are facing it. Here another corner kick to defend. Here's
right no So sending the ball in from the near post. This side. It's headed through but knocked away there from Jackson Reagan and this one'll go back out towards the middle of the park. Ball now long to the right side. Here's Dawson crossing it in far post, headed away. Alex rolled on back out and out of Rosolas resolves in the corner of the box, sending it in and that's just crossing right over the face of goal. Stephen Fry
didn't have to handle that one. I think Rosola certainly wanted to head at the end of that one, and that pretty much crossed everybody, but eventually goes out for a Sounder's goal kick. Marcus, that's a moment we're breathing right now. Wow, what a dangerous ball in between the goalkeeper and the back floor and the on rushing loons there. It was Rosales. You could see his reaction. He was a little bit disappointed. No, and a
near giveaway. Were Sounders right inside their own box Jackson Reagan nearly gives it away, but Minnesota is not able to take that one, and Seattle's now bringing it up the website. Sorry to interrupt, Marcus, dangerous situation that almost happened right there. As now open lots of space in the midfield. Oben working around players working around trap to the right side. Alex Roldan Cross comes in looking at far post and that one will be not cleared away yet.
It's a header and it's cleared off the line. Minnesota clears it off the line. Mcguel Tappius, Oh my goodness, I think I was at Jordan Morris perhaps getting his head on that one, and mcguel Tappius was a Russnack. Miguel Tappi is clearing that header off the line. It was Russnack
heading this one over. It wasn't as close to the line as we thought it was, but nonetheless a big chance there for Seattle that the Minnesota center back miguel's Appius had to stop before that was in the back of the next well. In that clearance it was it was all going out for a goal kick, but he wasn't sure where Ladera was. He was behind him, so he had to play it, but played it right back into the box.
And now it's a Sounders corner far side. This one to come from Joel Polo in the sun sending it to the shade, and that cross will be headed away from Michael boxall back out to Albert Russnack. We'll have this in the middle of the park. Now back to Joel Polo there on the right side cross coming in heading. Jordan Morris was on topius, Minnesota will come away. Now it's actually Nicholas Ladero on the left side, crossing that one in. Goz On Joti header and then to a goal. Yeah,
go on, Trony gets his head on that one. Seattle's Sounders go on the seventeenth minute, the big center back from Columbia, the six two mountain of a man sends it in past Dane Saint Clair and that is an early lead for your Sounders on the road. While we talked about the sustained pressure that Minnesota was able to put on the Sounders, and here was a Sounders turn, a couple of corner kicks and you know, being able to keep
that ball in play. Ladero a great cross back in after it was redirected once or twice and yaymar is Able didn't have to run back because we had control of the ball, able to stay in the box. No marking wide opens eight yards out, heads it in the top left corner. Sounders up one zero. Beautiful beautiful goal from Yamar Gomazan drot A. That's the goal of the Sounders needed early on and Marcus we talked about the way that Brian
Schmitzer wanted to come out and play right now. You know, even in this defensive posture, right now, you can still have a lead in this game and right now be well positioned to be able to play anyway Minnesota comes at you for the remaining seventy three minutes of this one. Is they are
right now coming back out. Here's results on the left side, but that's instantly taken away from Alex Roldan and here comes the counter attack with Nicholas Laderow getting into the middle of the park with roalruy Diez, and the Sounders will have to play a little more patiently here as they look to build in the midfield now with Joel Paula, but Marcus to have a lead seventeen minutes into this one, it's a dream scenario right now for the Sounders, and because
you're just looking to build some momentum. Nine games left in the regular season and a big win on the road at the start of a three match week where you also have to face Austin on Wednesday and then back against the Portland Timbers back at lumin Field on Saturday. This is the type of momentum that you want to start here at this point in the season one and all starts with the set plays. Alex Or JP hit the corner in and it was
a great, great clearance out. But the Sounders had that umbrella that I like to call it, so they're able to control that ball, get it back into the box, get it wide again, and more crosses and there was two or three more crosses before I went to Lade Arrow and he's able to hit an amazing left foot it and swinging or out swinging ball right on Yamar's head and it was a fantastic goal. Sounders up one zero. So
that's the Nicholas Ladero's ninety third assist across all competitions. That's forty one more than any other Sounder of all time. So Nicholas Ladero just continuing that run. And we saw him hit that goal against Monterey and League's Cup. And if you know the Sounders are looking to get going here, they're gonna need their number ten Nico to make plays like that. Sounders leading one nothing nineteen minutes in. Is they're working offensively here, Oh bed Vargas to Alex Roldan
on the right side halfway into Minnesota's side of the field. Minds Joel paulo middle of the park, knew who wanting the ball in the middle of the field as well with his arms just I think Marcus, he's been holding his arms up for about sixty seconds now, might have been maybe even a little more. He wants that ball on that left side, but Joel Paul will be bringing it up and Raoul now back into the midfield and now gets to knew who on the left side with Albert Russnach and the Raoul working it back
out to Juel Polo. Russnack going towards the box trying to take on a man back to Raoul. Sounders looking for a point of attack right now, rating triangles. They're just on this left side with Juel Polo trying to find a ball in the box for alloids. He is at the end of it and that will be a Dain Saint Clair taking that one away on a cross from ral ruy Diaz. A great ball into the box from Albert Russnack to ruy Diaz, but the cross goes right into Da Saint Clair's arms and Marcus.
That was a big opportunity there for the Sounders. That Minnesota does a good job of stalling, and a great run from Ruy Diaz right to get in behind. And a great ball from JP there and I don't know how this ends up in the keeper's arms, but super dangerous guys running into the near post. You want to just slash that thing across. Who knows that the defender's gonna hit it in? And I think the defender got up place of it and hit it right into Sinclair's arms from about a foot out.
Sometimes Sinclair did a great job just making himself big and coming up with the save there. As Minnesota now working on this counter on the left side, we'll trap finding dots in in the middle of the park, looking for some space. Now over on the right side, here's DJ Taylor, the fullback coming up, working on Jordan Morris back to the middle. Now Jan grey Goosch goal scorer last week for Minnesota, trying to poke it through and into
the box. But no, no, nothing doing there, as Yemo Gomez Andrade says no. And now Emmanuel Rnoso on the ball, he slips and fall Seattle takes it away. Oh, been Vargas looking for some outlets on this counter. But nobody's there now. Sounder's working right around side the center circle out to the left for new who. Seattle had a nice spell possession
moments ago. We'll see if they can can continue that. We're twenty two minutes into this match here at a Leon's Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Sounders leading one nothing on a seventeenth minute head er goal from Miamar Gomez Andrade. Gomez Andrade his second goal of the season. First came against Vancouver about a month and a half ago in a three two win. Get that ball
that that goal came an added time, very dramatic winner. We'll see if the Sounders can utilize that goal and build off of it and see if they can continue with this win. Here as they work in Minnesota side of the field, knew who with it, sending it back out to Jackson Reagan. They pressed from timou Pouki, but a nice job from Reagan to just slide it back to Stephen Fry and Marcus. The Sounders are now just they can right now play with patients. They can play with ease. They don't have
to rush anything right now, leading one nothing on the road. No, we've had it like a minute or so. Possession of the ball here and it was a great play from Vargas. Long ball of the left side. Here's Jordan Morris morrise in behind. Can he find some space? Can he
find an outlet? Working on DJ Taylor and he'll have to bring this back out just a bit, sending it to the middle of the park to Joel Poulo, Jol Paul to Obed Vargas, Vargus to Russ Snack rush snack back to the left for Joel Paulo, JP Now all the way back out to the left for Ladero has an overlapping knew who knew in behind? Cross comes in and it's knocked off. Hassani Dotson corner coming for the Sounders here in
the twenty third minute. Go ahead, Marcus. What I was saying was Obed Vargas had a chance to break out and look, because we have so many men behind the ball, Ruy Diaz was behind him. Just no problem. We just turn it back, keep possession, working around the back, get people in position, and then we were able to go forward. And then when you cut me off, it was because we had Jordan Morris making a great run up the side, and even in better ball, I think
to get him in behind. Sounders got to sustained pressure. Now we got a corner kick here comes Ladero. Long balls have been working so far today, they certainly have. And then we see another one to Morris there Rollery Diaz had a ball in the box a few moments ago, and Ladero will take this one with his left foot at the near post. Sounders attacking right to left. Here cross comes in, a corner comes in, and we'll
go all the way through the box. It's all the way to minutes a striker Team Oo Pookie, who will now bring this forward from Minnesota counterattack and now here's Resolves working down the left side, but he will completely stop in his tracks right at the center mark. And now ball coming in down into the final third of Team OO. Pookie working on Jackson Reagan, and Pooky falls down, saying that Reagan swiped at him. I didn't see anything from
Jackson Reagan that deserved any foul. Minnesota's not getting in Marcus. I like the no call there. No, there have been a few of those today. You know. It's just there's some contact, you know, or oh, beed Vargas got hit, but he's five four, so you know, in the face, so it's you know, sometimes that stuff that happens there's contact. The rest been letting some things go. So he's done okay job except for that miss corner kick. I think earlier on that was the one.
Yeah, but he's let play go on today fairly well. We're halfway through the first half here in Saint Paul, Minnesota Sounders leading one nothing, and right now they have Minnesota exactly where they want him about half the field in the shade as we see it, roll red Yaz tracking back finds new who on the left side. Sounder is now working in another nice spell of
possession, no real pressure on the ball from Minnesota at all. You wonder if Adrian Heath is gonna like that at the locker room halftime where Adrian they're their head coach, Adrian Heath, who's gonna come in and just basically giving the Sounders all the time and all the space to have these extended possessions. Minnesota does get it back here in the twenty fifth minute, but the Sounders
have had really not much pressure when they've had the ball. Marcus, it's been interesting to see how you wonder if that changes in the second half is Adrian Heath. You know, old school type coach, played twenty years in England. You know he's gonna want his team hard nose and battling. And right now they're giving the Sounders a lot of time in space. Yeah,
but they're letting the Sounders have possession where they want to have possession. Right so they had it looked like they had two banks of four there, which is hard to break down. And you know, the Sounders do have that quality. You could see that Minnesota's giving the Sounders a lot of respect as well. Even though there's Sounders are Minnesota's down one o, the Sounders are up one zero. You know, they know they have plenty of time life.
And that's also respect considering that this is a team where you just look at the talent on the field and the millions of dollars on the field. Sounders have a very talented club. Yes, the offense has not been firing at all cylinders and all gears like it has in years passed and like it
has in months passed here of the last five or so weeks. But nonetheless, Minnesota has to respect the talent that's on the team and they're now just sending it around their own midfield and Minnesota trying to find a point of attacks will trapp the veteran midfield trying to find Rainoso. Rainioso's on the left side. Can he find something? He works into the box, but that is immediately taken away from Alex rolled on up to all Ruy Diaz, back and
forth with Nicholas Ladero as the sounder has come away with it. Emmanuel Ronosa worked into the box. He wanted a foul right there, he wanted a penalty called, but nothing doing there and another one of those no calls markets that we've seen so far, and I listen in this type of a game where the physicality is letting it go, we've seen the sounder's benefit from that. You know, pretty much at every point in every years, a long
ball from Minnesota will reach seven fry. But Minnesota right now, they are looking for challenges and they're looking for calls as we see this one here, and they're not getting them. Yeah, I'd think that was a good note call there. He played the ball and you know, just kind of jumped into our player. But I think Minnesota knows that if you give Rumy Diaz three rs. He's going to score, right, really, he has hasn't, hasn't given the goals that he wants this season yet, we know that.
But you give him a little bit of space and you can see the defensive effort he's put in today. I don't know, you know, you don't always get that from your forward, doubling down winning balls when he's made maybe not the greatest pass ever, he's won it back and kept possession for the Sounders. He's doing a great job today. And now Seattle with the ball and Minnesota's half of the field working it over on the right side with
Albert Russnach. Alex Roldan is sliding in there in the midfield a little bit and there's some triangles that are shifting around. As Alex now back out onto the right wing looking for someone to cross it into. He'll just find Albert Russnack in the midfield. Back to Yamar Gomez Androtti. Another one of these
spells. See if you can find a line breaking pass here Russnack looking looking trying to find open man who just has to send it over to Vargas, Vargus to Juel Polo Reagan, now Jackson and Reagan working on three Minnesota attackers who finally brought some pressure onto the Sounder's center back. And now it's Juel Polo forward to Roll Rudiaz over on the left side to Jordan Morris Roll now
working in the midfield. The Sounders have condensed it a bit here and they'll now go back to new who and Jackson Reagan is they'll reset this attack and switch the point of attack to the right side with Gomez Andrade now duel Polo Ldero in the middle of field over on the left side for Morris. Morris with some space to cross, will he try to take on DJ Taylor.
He will cross coming in and that's hit off a Taylor that'll go out for a Sounders corner here in the twenty ninth minute, Seattle leading one nothing. Oh. The reason why there's so much space out in the flanks while Jordan's Morris is getting so much joy on that left side is because they're I think they're respecting Ruby Diaz quite a bit. And you know we saw Rudy has come back in the midfield out wide almost by the touch line and play a ball in. I don't want him there, I want him in the center
of the field. It's gonna keep a lot of defenders occupied and create that space out wide for Jordan Morris and Alex Roldan and that's and Rusnak as well, and Nicholas Lado will be the one to take this corner. No rush to take it, Jackson, Fellis and Marks Hanneman. Here Sounders FC Soccer on Sports Radio ninety three point three KJR FM, Seattle leading one nothing.
Here in the twenty ninth minute, a short corner comes in to New back out to Nicholas Ladero and now all the way back out to Obed Vargas, Obed Cross coming into the far post to Gomez Andrade. That's gonna be headed down and Dotson will end up kicking that one out. Will it be a corner? We'll see where this ball lands. It will it will be hey
corner kick. That ball was in the sky for about ten seconds after the oh bit Vargas sent it in, header came up and it basically just stayed in the air after Dotson kicked that one, and we were just waiting to see where that ball would land. It is a Sounders corner now in the thirtieth minute, as Albert Rusnak will take. Now take this one far post, another chance for the Sounders to keep a whole bunch of pressure on. Certainly are early in this one is Rusnak both hands up. It's a short
corner coming in and it's gonna be an off side call. As Russnach was working with Nicholas Laderyl in that short corner and this corner, the short corner came into Laderyl, Ladaril kicked it back to Russnack and Rusnak was off side. That is not why you an't want to see out of a designed corner kick like that. No, we had a chance to keep them, keep them under some pressure. You know. It's an old school boy air there,
uh, you know, not keeping yourself on side. As they pull off the line as Minnesota now works in the Saunder's half but given away as Alex Roldan will take this one. Roldan working forward but now taken away from Minnesota United back down to rain Noso working in Seattle's half of the field, out to the right side for DJ Taylor. Taylor finding Dotson Sonny Dots and the Federalway Native sends it to the middle of a park for Will trap out
a Greg Goosh back to trap. Minnesota now working with their own nice spell possession here can they find something. It's a long shot from Greg Goosch and that ball will go all the way to probably Wisconsin. I think that is a long shot. And Greg Goosch may have hit a couple of those in his career, his long career in MLS, but that one was nowhere even close to the back of the net. And Marcus will say that August is
Black Business Month, support black owned businesses all month long. Visit intentionalist dot com to find a business near you. And the Saunders now will have a goal kick here in the thirty second minutes, Stephen Fry getting some booze from the home fans there at Aulion's field. As Fry will send this one just out of bounds, trying to find that one on the left side, and
he will send that out. It becomes a Minnesota throw. Sounders with another chance there to build a spell of possession and given right back to Minnesota. Well, you know it's thirty second minute of the game that Minnesota's down one zero to the Sounder, so you know, goal kick. They're putting more pressure on making Stephen Fry kick a long ball and he was trying to play one out to Jordan Morris and hit it straight into touch. Sounders, of
course, like to play out of the back. Minnesota, with that pressure that Adrian Heath likes to use, certainly worked there to keep Stephen Fry from playing out of the back. As Minnesota now works into the Seattle final third there on the left side, looking for some space to Rozales Zoss trying to find some space to cross on Morris. He does cross it in, but that will be out for It's not gonna be a male. Minnesota's keeping the ball here on the right side. I thought it would be up for maybe
a throw at. Minnesota keeps it in. Now working to the middle of the park, taking away from ral Ri diz Raoul and now Nico on the left looking for some countering Jordan Morris. Can he open up his legs, he can Morris on the left side. He has some space and Morris now hows the ball. He'll send it back out Toldero into the middle of the
park for Joel Paulo. Back on to the left for Jordan Morris looking for some space here and he'll have to just send it back out to new Who, but another chance now with no real intense pressure from Minnesota to keep some more possession, Knew Who out of the middle of the field, obed Vargas and all the way back to Gomez Andrade. Find a confrontation from Minnesota.
About five yards into their own half of the field. Is Gomez Andrade when they'll bring the ball forward and try to pop it over to ral Ri Diez. Some hold up play from Raoul now over on the left side for Jordan Morris. Morris trying to find JP, but it's taken away from will Trap and Traps now trying to find this counter with Pouki over on the right side for Rhinoso, but Morris does a well to track back and take that one away. Some good defensive work there from Jordan Morris, but this one's taken
away from Minnesota. In the Sounders final third, it's pooky with dots and Dotson gets by knew Who Cross comes over, but that ball will go out right into the side of the nets Step and Fry will have a goalkick. Because the Sounders are now working along their back line with Reagan and Gomezondrade, it's one nothing Seattle here in the thirty fifth minute Alyon's field in Saint
Paul, Minnesota. A seventeenth minute goal from Yamar Gomezondrat assisted by Nicholas Fladero, Gomazondrade's second goal of the year and Nicholas Ladero's ninety third career assist with Seattle mentioned earlier, forty one more than the next highest Sounder of all time is Dane Saint Clair. Will send a ball along to Rosales that will be headed by Gomez Andrade. Minnesota controls in from their own a half. Now is back and forth. We go on the Headers long ball out to the
right side. DJ Taylor long ball gets some space cross comes in, but nice job from Jackson Reagan to cut that out and the Sounders will take this one back in their own half of the field. Some pressure from Minnesota though, will force a Sounder long ballots going to be controlled from knew who knew who? With Joel Paulo taken away, Now we'll trap to Dotson, Dotson into the box. Cross comes in and nice job from Gomez Andrade to get in front of that one. Back to Dotson to DJ Taylor on the right
side. Cross comes in. Hit from Jackson, Reagan, Morris clearing it, Sounders clearing the danger. A moment where Minnesota United was on the Sounders. They cleared it away. But now here's Minnesota again coming down the lest side. Ethan Bristol looking to cross. Here it comes in, heading it away. Is knew who that will go out for a throw in? Yes,
a throw in from Minnesota. Now deep inside these Sounders half, We've had some great defending from Ruy Diaz from the top and then Morris on some you know, a couple of plays on some you know, some crosses coming back to defend and then he was just back in left back roll. And what surprised me is how slow Knew who was getting back into position. He was just happy letting Morris defend. I don't want Morris defending. I want
Knew who defending. Yeah, and we've seen when Morris isn't defending, gets higher up the field, and that's where the Sounders have had some opportunities today. Cross coming in from Minnesota, headed away from Gomez Andrade, you know, go back out to young gray goose, Joseph Razolas from Minnesota on the left side, trying to find a would be runner and finally gets one. Bristo working on a rolled on and that will now go for a Minnesota corner.
Bristol trying to cross that one in and good defending there from the Sounders right back Alex Roldan. Yeah, the Minnesota has been making some good passes, you know, They've been getting around players. And short corner comes in Bristow. Here's the cross coming in. It's headed and headed by Michael Boxall just above the crossbar. What's an opportunity for Minnesota United? Oh my gosh.
The Minnesota captain, Michael Boxall, the six two center back, the veteran here with Minnesota, has an golden opportunity to tie this one up Marcus and he whipped on that one. Yeah, that was knew. Who's guy. I'm not sure what knew who was doing dropping back to the goal line. That's Stefan's job, right, knew who You got a mark and everyone's counting on you to be in position there and he drops back to the goal line across there's no need to go back there and created a haul and Sunders
are lucky to be still up one zero, very very lucky. Michael Boxall, the guy who has started almost every game from Minnesota this season. Golden opportunity to get his second goal of the year and tie this thing in the thirty eighth minute. But Seattle's still leading right now, one nothing on Yamar Gomez Andrades header and now they're controlling in their own half of the field. Stephen Fry ball at his feet. He will send this one long up on
to the left side. Does he get a man He does not. It will go for a Minnesota throwing and for Seattle right now, it is a sigh of relief and one that's certainly they'll go into the half and easy enough to hopefully be able to work together with coaching and knew who knowing what he needs to do next time on that one. With the header from boxall is Minnesota now taking this one into the final third over on the left side for Rosales. Rosolas working towards the box getting shot of space. You got a
shot is saved by Stephen fryving to his left. Sounders get it back, Jordan Morris takes it dual, Paulo working up to Nicholas Ladaro now back to Minnesota, a big say from Stephen Fry there a moment ago on a Rosola shot from distance and now Minnesota. We'll try to keep the attack going with Rainoso on the right side out to DJ Taylor looking for some space to cross, but that is knocked away from new who throwing throw will come in now
from Minnesota in the thirty ninth minute, but Marcus as we go back to this shot and save from Rosalas and Fry another chance for for Minnesota there to get the equalizer. Well from that angle like yeah, I saw the actual it took a deflection right off his foot too, so even a better say from Fry and able to direct it into a clear area. But Sounders still under the pressure here with six minutes left on the half big time because the ball comes into the box and knew who does well to win that one.
Aheader down to Morris, but that will pop back out to Boxall. Minnesota still in control with Greg Gooch, and we'll run on the right side for Taylor looking for more space to cross, but New right in front of him, not giving him too much space at all. Back out to Michael box All the center back Minnesota try to find some space and DJ Taylor will, I think create a corner. He will for himself as he was once again working on New and who did well to not let the ball get into the
box. He sends that out in Minnesota will have another corner coming in here in the fortieth minutes. Well, I bet we're gonna mark Boxall on this corner. I would hope. Yeah, he had it the last time. Yeah, he's the reason why Stephen BRI's been hitting the ball out. Why because we don't want to play it to him. Short corner comes in ray No so back and that will be a cross coming over the far post. Three sounders down and a foul is called. Some booze coming in from Minnesota.
But listen, if I'm seeing three green shirts in the box on the ground, including Jackson Reagan who's staying down. Inevitably a foul is likely to be called. Yeah, there might have been two or three fouls there. Yeah, But box All, I mean, I think you know, that chance that they had the free header from him at six yards out is gonna be the you know, he's gonna be questioning that his header all for about I think three or four days. I think if it stays one zero for
the Sounders, absolutely we see the foul there would happen. Michael box All basically took two hands to Jackson Reagan's face trying to create some space. That is most certainly a foul. No car on that one, but Sounders still leading one nothing here in the forty first minute, Fry will once again look to send this one along, taking a couple x for seconds here and a couple of boo birds coming in from the home Minnesota fans of Alan's field long
ball at Jordan Morris. Doesn't look like anybody gets ahead of that one, and it'll go out for a Minnesota throw at fifteen yards into their own half. Minnesota will look to create something they are missing. Should be noted they're they're in terms of statistics, they're best player of the season. Bongy Bongi klong Wana is their best attacker, has six goals three assists on the season
from the winger position. He suffered an injury last week and he is out from Minnesota today is the United bring up on the left side and that's going to go out for a throw in well defended from Alex Roldan and Marcus. It is you never want to root for injuries, but it is a cybreef not have to face their most statistically talented attacker this season. And we're seeing Hassani Dotson, the Federal Way native, up on to the right wing from
Minnesota today. And listen, we talked about the local angle here today, but Hassani Dotson is a usually a defensive midfielder. They're putting him up on the right wing today. It's forcing DJ Taylor to come way up from his right back spot. And just not having not having their best attacking player one of their best attacking players has changed the way Minnesota likes to play. And you're seeing that out of no goals through forty three minutes, well and the
Sounders have been fairly well organized. You haven't. I haven't noticed any real big, major things until the last five or six minutes. Sounders are getting a little bit time ted, you know, when it's the next turn for someone to come out and close down that straight line closed down which we talk about, you know, a little bit late, so you can see there's some tired legs coming out there. The Sounders have done a great job in
possession, but you know they need to finish this half off strong. There's only a few more minutes left and Sounders still up one zero. It's absolutely right. Here's a long ball trying to reach Dotson, but it's headed away Jackson. Reagan heads it right into Stephen Fry's arms, and Fry can take another seconds couple of seconds out of this one as the Sounders can try to get to the half up one nothing, and you look the bench for Seattle,
it is pretty stacked. Javier Ariaga back from injury. He actually played with the Coma Defiance a couple of days ago against Minnesota United two also in Minnesota, so both Defiance and Sounders have traveled to Minnesota this week. So Ariaga is on the bench. You got Leo Chew on the bench, Josh Atencio, who scored four Tacoma in a four to two win. He's on
the bench. The Sounders have some reinforcements so that I could bring on in the second half, but you certainly want to get to the half and be able to have some minutes here for these tired legs as Seattle and that has a throw in from up ten yards inside Minnesota's half on the near side, new who sends it into Joel Paulo JP finding Nicholas Ladero pops the ball over
to Ralruy Diez, but he cannot get by Michael box On. That will go right into Dane Saint Clair's arms and the Minnesota United goalkeeper will be able to take this one. Here in the forty fourth minute, he'll roll it on out to Topy Us on the left. His center back Sounder is doing some a little bit of a high press here, trying to keep Minnesota from
getting things too far forward. And now they back off as Michael Boxall will bring it forward into the middle of the park for will trap and here's Greg Goose now on the left side, bringing it up as Tapius into the Sounder's half of the field now and Rosalis Minnesota looking for the equalizer before this half as it's one nothing Seattle here now in the forty fifth minutes, we'll see how much extra time they add. Shouldn't be too much. No big a
lazy in this game so far yet. Ball now out on the left side for Rosales because he's looking to cross it in. He finds Pooky at the top of the box. Pooky working on JP but Joal Paulo stops him and sends it back up to Rolleri Diaz who was fouled before the Sounders can get a counter going, and Sounders will have a free kick from there on half of the field and they will be in absolutely no rush to take this one. As we are about to see what the extra time is Marcus, We're
about to hit the forty five minute mark. Yeah, Well, what just happened earlier was Stephen Fry on a long ball. The target all day has been Jordan Morris a wide left for us and Boxalls like, forget it, I'm I'm sliding out there. So now Jordan Morris, he's now having to challenge Boxall because the Sounders have done the same thing three or four times and Jordan Morris did not look happy about going having to go up against him. He was happy with their right back, but not with their center back.
As we mentioned, didn't expect too much extra time in the extra miles stoppage time is only one minute. Ball over the top to Jordan Morris. Can he get on the end of that one? He will hops it back out to the middle of the park, but nobody there. Rosalis will take this one from Minnesota. And now it's Bristow over on that left wing bringing up the field, trying to get it into the Sounders half of the field.
But Jackson Reagan will be there to cut that one out. And now they're at least like they actually changed the extra mile stoppage time to two minutes. Our screens here said one, and then all the screens changed to two. So now two minutes of extra miles stoppage time is we're now halfway through that. That was fairly interesting. I guess they just added an extra minute in
the moments. I guess you'll never do. No Sounders now in no rush working on their right side with Obed Vargas, and that will go all the
way through to the Minnesota center back. Topius, it doesn't look like Minnesota is in any rush either here with just about forty five seconds left here in this first half with the stoppage time now working it down the right side with Dotson trying to find Rainoso, but it's cut out Knew who will clear this one all the way to the other side of the field and pops back right
out Jackson Reagan. We'll get at the end of that one. It's that one to Joel Paulo and Gomez Andrade and eventually I believe it will be a Minnesota thrown on this right side because we are nearing the fully allotted two minutes as Jordan Morris will clear that one away again, gets out to Nicholas Ladero on the left side. Nico with some space and a nice job by jan Greg Goose to take that one away from Minnesota, and now it is the
Loons on the right again. They do not look too dangerous, They're not looking like they're really rushing to score a goal here before the halftime whistle as they switch it over now to the left side with Will trap back to the right and there is the halftime whistle, so the Sounders on the road getting the goal they needed in the first half a seventeenth minute header from Yamar Gomez Andrade, assisted by Nicholas Laderyl Marcus Hannaman. Your first half thoughts well.
Defensively, the Sounders have looked pretty solid. The spacing has been good. Even at the last little bit there looked like their left winger was going to get the better of Yamar. I'm not so sure about that, but Reagan was there to pick up the pieces right and then able to play out. Sounders are able to keep possession as opposed to Yamar having to play back to
Stephen Fry or something. So the spacing defensively has been good. Sounders were able to have some sustained pressure as well, look dangerous on set pieces, and you know, as long as we can get the short corners figured out and which is a schoolboy air, we'll do better in the second half. Absolutely so well. This copyrighted audiocast of Major League Soccer may not be retrained as many to reproduced or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer.

half because spoiler alert, Sounders are winning one nill. Yeah, fantastic first half of the Sounders And that's what you want away from home is you're gonna always have to withstand pressure, right and then if you could just catch them on the break in the fantastic service, things kind of break down a little
bit, but the Sounders do a good job of recovering. Nico picks up the ball and finds Jamar if it comes off his head, great shoulder, who cares at this point it goes in the back of the net and then they have to withstand some pressure. And from that standpoint, the Sounders have done well. Steps made a couple couple good saves, but they're going to come in the second half and the Sounders have to be prepared for that.
Yeah. Absolutely, we did with fans some pressure and a couple of times got a little bit lucky some balls going across the face of the goal U and but we kept good possession. It was difficult to really get behind Minnesota early because they were dropping them way back and just kind of holding in. But then that great service from Nico and a great header by Yamar put us up one nail at sixteenth minute. In Sounders fans, bud Light was brewed

Seventeenth minute goal header goal by Jaymar, tell me walk me through it. Yeah, I think,
I think. I think for the Sounders is like like chance said was, withstanding some pressure and the Sounders catch them on a little bit of a break, things break down. How Gaymar and Jackson find themselves forward and it still remained in the box with that confidence that you know the Darrol's going to pick up the ball and his service is usually going to be good. So I'm gonna give myself the best chance and I'm gonna stay up there, and they
do a good job of making some runs. Losing defenders and Minnesota falls asleep, don't find their mark, and Jamar's a big boy, and any chance he gets, that's the second goal of the season. And a center back needs, you know, four or five goals this season, and I think your team's doing pretty good. So for him to pick up his second in that moment a good head or good celebration. And you know the Sounders are often running and they got forty five minutes left to close this thing out.
Yeah, Nico deserves a lot of credit for that goal because of the whipped in cross Yamar just has to get up and redirect it more or less and h but it was a great, great left foot across by Nico. What do you want to see from the Sounders
from this closing forty five minutes? Yeah, just take away a little bit of the hecticness, right, you want to negate as much from Minnesota that you can. How do you do that? It's five possessions. Maintain possession of the ball, understanding that when the right time to go forward is on, then you go. And if it's not, then there's no problem in using STEPH opening up the field, and then you counterattack, right because you
know that Minnesota is on that line. They must get a result, especially at home, So gonna send everyone for and that open up opens up lanes for our and maybe bring on Chew so you can stretch them legs and mix things up a little bit. But now you can stretch their defense because things are going to open up for the Sounders in the second half. Yeah, hopefully you're right, And I hope, I mean maybe my prediction of three
one isn't gonna be right. I think the clean sheet we've talked about earlier, if they get that, then that's all they need at the moment, right, And so we get that and a little bit of luck you need box, I'll miss that point blank header. We've got very lucky there. And as the game goes on and on, keeping possession, as you say, Brad, and then when they do realize that it's a bit tight, put your foot through the ball when you have to sometimes get it out and
clear it and regroup. So off of the bench we have Ariaga, Montero Abart, Lao Chew, Cody Baker, Paul Rothrock, Kitty Harra, and Josh Atensio. Do you guys see any of those guys making an appearance. Well, it's pretty simple. If the Sounders are winning one nothing with twenty minutes left, then you bring on Ariaga, you bring on Cody Baker, a Tensio. Maybe if that's not the case and we're to nothing, then maybe you go for it and you bring guys on that can stretch a defense.
But the game tends to play itself out and dictate what the subs are. I don't don't sets as much of a oh, if this happens, I'm going to sub this way or predetermined subs. I don't. I don't think there's too much of that, especially one nothing up at home. So this game will play out and we'll see the subs that need to be made at some point. Yeah, I think you're gonna see adjustments by the Sounders by what Minnesota does in the second half, and Minnesota is gonna start going
for it. They have to. They're gonna have to open up at the back, like you say, and it might open things for us, but they are going to throw people forward. All right, action packed second half. Kicking off momentarily, It's currently Sounders one Minnesoty United zero after the first half at Alion's field score update presented by Providence, Swedish. Sounders busy week for them leading one nothing here in this one. Would be great
to start off with a win. As we look ahead, You're on the road on facing Austin FC on Wednesday, August thirty at five thirty pm. Marcus, it's the Portland Timbers coming to lumen Field there on Saturday. So busy week ahead for the Sounders. I mean, Brian Schmitz will have to finagle his lineups a certain way. We'll see even if they just go directly from Minnesota Austin. But looking ahead to Saturday against Portland. By the way, Sounders fc dot com slash tickets to go get your tickets for Sounders Timbers. But Marcus, a busy week ahead and you'll be great to start off
this week with a win. Currently leading one nothing. Yeah, I mean, it's such an important game today, and you know when you think about a match as big as Portland coming up at home, and you know you don't want to lose sight of you know, obviously today and then Austin and you know Portland, you know, is what everybody talks about and what remembers. But but you've got to get the results. And you know Sounders are
sitting in forth right now, Minnesota and tenth or something. But there's only, you know, less than a handful of points that separate the two. So it's really tight, and you know every point matters right now, so you cannot take sight of all, take your eyes off what's happening today, and you know the games in between. It's absolutely right because you look at the Sounders in MLS play right now haven't won in their last three games.
You had back to back wins over Houston and Vancouver early July and a loss to San Jose draw with Dallas, you had the least cut break where that didn't go the Sounders way, and then lost last week to Atlantis. So getting things off on the right track, especially getting that momentum going at the start of this busy week, would be great, especially considering this Western Conference right now is crazy six points just six points divide third place realis Salt Lake
from tenth place Minnesota. This is a massive one for the Sounders to look to get three points as the second half kicks off from Allan's field and the Sounders send a ball along to Jordan Morrise and it's brought down and contained from Jual Paulo on the left side, but a foul is called in Minnesota will have a free kick from about ten yards inside their own half. As we look to see if there's any changes. Minnesota in their black shirts and black
shorts today attacking here in the second half from right to left. Sounders in their green tops and blue shorts attacking from left to right on your radio dial as we are just starting the second half here at Allan's field, a big three points on the line as the Sounders look to get it and get back
in the win columns. Minnesota now works into the final third here is they're forward, pooky, trying to get to the middle of the field, but that's taken away from Joel Paulo finds Albert Russneck and Jordan Morris laying it off to knew who some pressure early pressure from Minnesota and they forced a turnover from Bristow and Bristow tries to take the ball away from Morris, but if foul is called on Bristow, Jordan Morris earns the foul and the Sounders have a
free kick from deep inside their own half. Well in the second minute, we've had just as many fouls as he gave the entire first half, so which is always kind of interesting. But you know, the Sounders forcing to play in the back, you know sometimes you know, we've watched this season where it hasn't worked out in our favor. You know, it's just too much. And Gregan was forced to make a pass he didn't want to make.
Somebody not checking two running away and Saunders got away with one. There they did as they'll bring up the right side now with Alex rolled on. It was inside to ral Ruy Diaz. He's pulled down and that will be another foul. Third foul in the first ninety seconds of this half. So, yes, ninety seconds more fouls than forty five minutes. I think that's
proper statistics right there. It's amazing. But yeah, a little more little calling them a little bit tighter here in the second half we're seeing I think so. But they were all fouls, but it's a it's a great opportunity for the Sounders to slow things down again and and you know set up a good free kick. JP's on the ball here, so gonna be an outswinger, and uh, you know, pretty JP's pretty dangerous from this area,
and you know it's kind of where I want teams. Uh, Minnesota's out about twenty yards out, there's a lot of space and behind Yamar's asking for it. Here's the ball coming in far post. Comas on Raw trying to go up for it, but it's headed back out leave from Tapius the Minnesota center back and Sounders will control now on the left side with Obed Vargas staying on the left now with Nicholas Ladarrell. Cross comes in, but it's all the way to the back of the po all the way to the back post.
As it looked like Minnesota was gonna easily clear that one away. It was almost like you have fifteen minutes to set up just to clear a ball away Michael Boxall, and he just swings and misses. And if Yamar Gomazandrati was two steps a little bit further along, he's able to poke that to the back post for a goal. But no doubt, Listen, Marcus, I don't think you can blame him for not being ready for that. Michael Boxall clears that one ninety nine times out of one hundred. That was just
the one time he swung and missed. Well, Yamar was blaming himself for that. You saw him put his head in his hands and he knew he made the mistakes slowing his rundown, you know, because it would have been an easy tap in, maybe the easiest score he's ever scored in his life. Oh, he was was not ready for Michael Boxall was swinging a missus now right now, so it's bringing it into the final third for Minnesota. Is brought down from Jackson Reagan, no foul called. We'll see if they
look at that one. Long ball to the right for Jordan Morris. Can he get to the end of this one? He can, but it's popped up from Tapias and into Saint Clair's arms. Sounders trying to quickly counter, but some good defending there for the Minnesota center back as now here comes Minnesota's counter and reaches all the way to Dotson. But Dotson's only able to poke
that one into Stephen Fry's arms. The battle of counterattacks right now as here comes the Sounders now on the left side, and it will be it's like, oh, Bed Vargas will slow this one up and the Sounders will now have a chance to breathe on the ball for just a minute, as we had some back to back corners. They're a furious back and forth play here early in the second half. Two quick counterattacks up the side for both teams
and you know, total different games so far. In the second half, it is as the Sounders now work up on the right side for Alex Roldan right in front of Minnesota's coach Adrian Heath. Cross comes through reaches Nicholas Ladero, but Ladaro is gonna get taken away from DJ Taylor, the Minnesota fullback,
and it will go all the way back out. But here's new who on the ball sends it to the middle of the park to Joel Paulo JP working in the Minnesota's final third for an angle to attack from Russ Snack now Vargas, oh bet Vargas over to knew who now on to the far left for Ladero trying to find Obed Vargas because he has some space to cross and it's a great job there from Minnesota's midfielder will trap to force that one out for a Sounder's throwing about a yard from the corner post as we look back
to what happened on the other end, Marcus and a chance for Minnesota that Emmanuel Renoso wanting a foul but at standing tackle there from Jackson Reagan. Yeah, and he's tried to cut it back behind his body a lot of times you'll you'll hit the man first, but he did a great job of getting the ball first, and then the man Sounders with a throw in deep in Minnesota's area and go to Obed Vargas, who will bring it all the way back out with Jackson Reagan and now here's Joel Paulo on the left side.
I'm going to get it to the middle for Albert Russnack. Russnack, can you find alexrodn on the right, he can rolled on space across. He'll send it in. We'll reach the foot of Nicholas Laderol, but Nico can't control and Minnesota will take that ball over and send it long to Timoo Pooky, but Jackson Reagan does well on Timoo Pooky to take that one away. Now Sounders on the left side with Jordan Morris. He finds Nico into the
box. Ladaril looking to cross, but that cross will go right to Greg Goose of Minnesota, and the Loons take it back and a long ball once again. They're trying to find Timo Pooky. Minnesota are on these long balls. Seattle keeps taking it away and now the Sounder's sending it all the way on to the right side. But Alx Roldan is nowhere to be found and thrown coming from Minnesota. But they're not able Marcus to find these long balls.
They want their striker, they want some hold up play from that finished thirty three year old, but so far Minnesota has not been able to land him. Jackson, Reagan's doing a great job keeping him from hold up play. Yeah, it looked like he was looking in for a ball in behind and he played it short because he was coming to I think he was expecting him to hit it in the channel. But Reagan read it rall and you
know, I was able to win the header. We're in the fifty second minute here alons Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Seattle leading one nothing on a seventeenth minute goal, a header from Yamar Gomezandratti assisted by Nicholas Ladero as Hassani Dotson working at the edge of the Sounders box trying to find a ball in but it's cut out from Jordan Morris. He tracked back, and now
Minnesota attacking on the left side. But a great job from Alx Troldan to step in on that one, and the Sounders right back will earn himself a foul about five yards from the corner of the box. Rosales fouled him and Seattle will be in once again. No rush. It's sort of you know, Marcus, it's funny we were talking about. You know, the way
the Sounders were set up in a defensive posture to start this game. You get the early goal, and the plan may have been going into this game, you know, switch Albert Russnack and Jordan Morris, play Morris up high, get some offensive momentum going. But if you're leading one nothing in the fifty third minute, there's no impetus to make those offensive changes, is there? No? Oh, why would you? If things are working right? But then all of a sudden, you know what's worked really well today?
As everyone track back. You mentioned Jordan Morris's name earlier. It was he was actually defending in our box, won a great ball, a free ball in the box. He's tracking back he's doing all the dirty work defensively.
It's just we haven't been as sharp in the second half. It's keeping the ball and finding our passes, and Minnesota gives it away there and Seattle now on the left side with Nicholas Ladero, tries to find Rahole, but it's cut out there and that's exactly what you were just talking about, and is Nico gives it away. And here's Minnesota again working in the middle of the park with Greg Goose and Trap. Those two have been back and forth right
there in the defensive midfield keeping things from moving. And now the Sounder is gonna takeaway on Rainosa, who falls down easily, and Minnesota right back. Giveaway, giveaway, And now Minnesota's bringing it up into the middle of the field with Rosales looking for on the left side for Bristow. Bristow working into the Sounder's final third, and now it's Rosalies deep in and he finds some
space to cross, working on Alex Roldan. He crosses at four looking for backpost, headed away from Knew, who gets out to Nicholas Ladero and the Sounders do a good job of clearing that danger and Minnesota has to reset here in the fifty fourth minute, coming down that right side, here's Taylor Cross coming in that's knocked away from Alex Roldan, and Minnesota will again have to
reset. They quickly do, and now give it away Joel Paulo with Russnack, Russnack just taps it over and roll Redaz who's playing basically Marcus sort of a right wing position right now, is able to take that one away, and the Sounders have a moment to breathe, yeah, but I'm just not sure what we're doing defensively, and then we give the ball away again and we create, you know, in our in our final third base, our
defensive third, and we give them another chance at it. You know, we've had numerous opportunities now to one closed down properly and then Knew who's just turned his back and kind of got jog backed in position which he didn't do well earlier, but kind of walked back where you could have put that sustained pressure on right away on that ball and forced it back, and then you
come back and switch up your positions. Or we saw Seattle give it away and then Minnesota gave it away, and then Seattle picked it long and Minnesota controls again. They had the ball in their own half. Here is, the clock's about to hit the fifty sixth to minute because they're looking to get some momentum that coming off of a two nothing win last week at New York City, returning home after an impressive run as they will actually earn a foul
about thirty five yards out, obed Vargas. It's called for a foul. Here is We're gonna see the replay on Mammanuel Ronoso, who finally gets a call. What do you think Marcus deserved? Mammanuel Ronoso has been calling for that all day of the week. That's the first one he gets, and it looks fair. Yeah, I mean, Vargas, I think is claiming he touched the ball, but I don't think that ball moved very much. So I mean, at first time I saw it, it looked like a
clear foul. Second time, I thought he touched the ball. Third time I thought I didn't get near the ball. So I'm not gonna argue with the referee there. Here's the cross coming in on the free kick, headed and that's gonna be an own goal. It's an own goal for the Sounders. And it's the goal scorer for the Sounders scoring one from Minnesota. Gaymar Gomez rode into the back of the net and the old goal makes it one one between the Sounders and Minnesota. In the fifty sixth minute. We will
see this one again and see if that is indeed what happened. The free kick came in and Jaymar Gomez Andrade went up for it, probably just trying to clear the danger or put it into Stephen Fry's arms, but it goes into the top left corner of the goal, as we see here again, and that's indeed what happened. Marcus. It's an own goal, front Drade. He has scored both goals today and it's one one. Well it was
right in the top corner, that's for sure. So he's got two, one on the left, one on the right, and you know, just flicked it past Stephen Fry. Stephen Fry got caught, taken a step out. You know, he was talking about some communication and it's just the way it goes. Sometimes right, things go your favor, sometimes times they don't. But it's why you hit in swingers on goalkeepers because you put everybody under
pressure. Defenders are moving back towards you. You know they don't. It's hard for them to jump up and here we go Minnesotas put him under some pressure. They're talking about foul called there on the Sounders in the middle of the park, long whistle here and some booze raining down is It's like Michael Boxall is gonna get cold for a foul. But go ahead, Marcus. Yeah, I'm just saying it. Just you know, the Sounders started off this second half so poorly and I don't even not even sure if this is
a foul. And uh, you know, Ruy Diaz got caught on the ball in our final third, which he shouldn't be anywhere near there, but he starts to get frustrated when he doesn't get the ball, So I guess why he moves into position where he can get the ball. And where is he dangerous in their final third? I don't want him anywhere near me, right, and he's done a great job defending, but I want him up towards their goal. Long ball with Alex rolled On, who gets at the
end of that one. He'll poke that one up to Dane Saint Clair and that's when he's gonna want back a long ball. Alex Roldan had the ball in behind Minnesota's defense and was not able to do anything with it as the Minnesota goalkeeper had an easy work there, and Minnesota's now going to be attacking back down the left side on this counter. Here's Zolas into the middle of
the park and something that's being called here they're gonna bring it back. I think the referee might have actually kicked it himself, So they're having Minnesota basically take this ball back in a moment for the Sounders to get grouped defensively, as Minnesota will now bring this forward with Emmanuel Renoso. Sounders had a moment and they're now going to be able to reset defensively. As the Loon's attacked down the left side with Renoso, he's working on a rust snack and Alex
Roldan that's taken away from the Sounders duel Paulo. Now he's not gonna get foul. He wanted it in the middle of the park. Here's Greg Goose over on to the right side for Taylor. Taylor's cross comes in bar post ray noo so Gray no so looking for some space? Can he cross? No? He can't. Outside standing job from Alex Roldan to close him down. It will be out for a Minnesota throw. But well done from Alex Roldan to not give a Manual Ronoso any space to cross that one in and
the Minnesota United number ten, he's gonna want that one back. And he had to take too many touches on the ball there. If he could have got it out of his feet and strike at Alex Roldan was putting pressure on him. But you know, I'm really surprised. I was really worried there for a second, but Alex was able to get over and clear the danger. Manually know so that the talented attacking midfielder from Minnesota weird situation where he
failed to report to the team's preseason training. He was suspended without pay in February all the way until May sixth, where he finally reported ten games into the regular season where he finally returned to training. Since returning in MLS, he has six starts, four goals, and assist. A wildly talented player that we've seen over the years played from Minnesota. I did a great job in the twenty and twenty Western Conference Championship that Seattle ended up beating Minnesota in
at lumin Field, so we know the danger Rainoso can face there. But you know that's a play Marcus where you know we've been watching Lionel Messi with Miami recently, right, If Messi has given that much space inside the box, it's a goal one hundred percent of the time. That's one where rains So should do better with that one. And ultimately the Sounders are coming away with it and now trying to find Morris down the right side, but nothing
doing there in Minnesota takes over. So he didn't report. I didn't hear about that. Yeah, was it during ski season? I didn't know that was an option. Like I would have come back in April first if I knew that was an option, But no, pay no problem, I'll keep skiing. I would have been better preseason's hard. Yeah, so Rainoso was out if finally came back there in early May and didn't face the Sounders. When these two teams faced off earlier in the season, that was a Sounders
one nothing win. Albert russnack a second half goal there at lumin Field on a restart that won the Sounders that game. But this will not be a one nothing final, as Minnesota has not really scored. It was an old goal from Yamar Gomez Androtti in the fifty six minutes. And as we're now in the sixty first minute at Alion's field in Saint Paul, Minnesota, it's currently one one. As the Loon's now looking on that left side with Ethan Bristow. You wonder, also, Marcus, what changes may come for Brian
Schmenzer in a one one game. Does he make that offensive flip without Rusnack and Morris? Is stop that? In Minnesota attacks down the left side with Hassani dots and dots and into the box head or from timou Pouki's gonna go all the way out for a Sounders goal kick. But you wonder, Marcus, about the elements of now second half changes in the strategy. Do you flip Morris and Rusnak get Morris up next to role like the original plan was
to get some offensive momentum going to get that winner. Well, I guarantee you Schmetz isn't happy with what's the way things are going. Forget the goal by the team is not playing the same. If we had time outs and soccer, he would have called two of them already maybe three. He would have used them all already, so I know there's a sub they're talking about. What are they're gonna change right now? I'm not sure what they're gonna do, but maybe start passing to green shirts would be a good start.
As the Sounders are in their grave green tops and blue shorts, Minnesota black tops and black shorts, Minnesota attacking from right to left, Seattle, left to right. On your radio dial, it's one one here in the sixty second minute as Seattle send this one down the left side with knew who who? Looking for Nicholas Ledero trying to find some space to get around Dotson and
he'll force a Seattle thrown well. Sounders FC Soccer is presented by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Sounders FC and Seattle will throw this one back out to Obed Vargas is The sun is getting less and less as we go along here in this match, Alex Roldan cutting it on the right, Alex Roldan shooting with his left foot, it's a save. Dane Saint Clair diving to his right saves that one. A left footed shot from Alex Roldan saved by
the Minnesota goalkeeper. And it's back out now with Rainoso for Minnesota as they control. And a good shot there, Marcus, a left footed shot from Alex Roldan. Now the Sounders take this ball away, well they earn a foul here, they will. Jordan Morris earns himself a foul about five yards off of that corner of the box, and this will be prime territory for other Nicholas Ladero or Joel Paulo to send in this cross. Well, I want to see JP on this. I want to see an in swinger,
so we'll see what happens. And I thought roll Dan was gonna cross it here, and then he let the ball keep running. It kind of set up nicely for him, but keeper able to see it the whole way and nice curved inside. I was surprised he wasn't able to hold it. Yeah, Dane Saint Clair getting in both hands to that one, just shoving that out. Nicholas Ladero, now this is a good position. Jamar Goman draws and DRAWDA has two headers today, Marcus, can you make it three?
Here's Nico ball comes in and that is almost headed by Gomez and draw. He was trying to get over one of the Minnesota defenders and just couldn't get to it. He was inches away from his third header of the day. Yeah, we are talking about the same guy when I say, Yamar, but he he should have in case you're listening to on the radio, But Yaymar. He was holding his hands, his head in his hands. Again. He had a great opportunity, a great ball swung in there. I
can't believe he didn't get on the end of that. Minnesota making a substitute here coming out is the young left back Ethan Bristow. Coming in is Ismael Kajori Schrody joining the attack for Minnesota. He's a five six attacking midfielder from Switzerland goal and two assistants in just three games this season long career with the New York City FC, where he's had you know, you look at his MLS career ninety three games, twenty nine goals. This is an attacking player
that Minnesota's bringing on for a defender here in the sixty fifth minute. So Marcus, we're definitely going to see a shift in how Minnesota wants to play now. They're looking offensive, They're wanting to get the winner here at home with twenty five minutes remaining in this game. Well, they need to do something, and the Sounders are Schmetzer is gonna be close here with the sub. I'm sure coming up trying to figure out what where he's going to change.
But your guest as good as mine right now, Jackson. You know, because the Sounders, the way they played the first half, everything was nice and controlled. Looked like a really comfortable one zero lead for the Sounders, and you know, everybody's always, you know, talks about what you
know, two zero lead, one zero lead. The one zero lead always scared the crap out of me because I was always worried that we're going to take our foot off the gas, one little goal, one slip up, one on goal, and then all of a sudden, guess what, trying to get that momentum back. It changes instantly, so that one zero lead is always a little bit iffy. Absolutely. As we're seeing now the changes from Minnesota and how this basically they're attacked a shift to Joseph Razulis, an
attacking winger, is now playing as their left back. Hassani Dotson has switched from right to left in the attacking midfield, and to Zori Schrody is now on the right side as All is now getting up onto that wing on the left side, basically treating him like a mid as another midfielder because Minnesota's gonna
work in attack with a back three. Now they have definitely changed their changed their look here as we'll see how Brian Schmitzer response here in the sixty sixth minute for the middle of the field with Greg Grouce Greg Groush trying to find or maybe it was a shot, but either way it hits off team Upouki his forward and Sounders will control and send it long to roll Ruy Diaz and nothing from mcgeltapius to do but send it out for a Sounders throw in Minnesota's
side of the field. Yeah, but having ruy Diaz up top, even as a blind clearance, really we're able to get something out of it because Ruy Diaz is up there, able to put pressure on two defenders and they cleared out for a throwing. Sounders win it back. And now we've got a set piece here in the sixty six minute when the game's tied up at one zero because Ladero was brought down there by the man who just came on Trody in Minnesota and then will be Nico over this one a bit far out.
But listen, I guarantee you Yamar is not gonna hold up on this one. He's gonna go one hundred percent because he nearly had it just a few moments ago. See if he can score his third goal of the day. Did they give a hat trick if one of him is an own goal? I think so. Here's the cross coming in from widero go far post to Jackson Reagan, but that will go way out all the way from Minnesota.
Throw that ball basically just a live went over absolutely everybody, and you see what the idea was there to get it towards Reagan at the back post and perhaps had that one across. We saw work against the Vancouver Whitecaps earlier, but that did not work. There is Minnesota will now have this one, and then the actually have a free kick from keep inside their own half. Jordan Morris was some pressure go ahead. Well, you don't really see
a petulant foul from JP very often, but you saw one there. You could see his frustration when that ball sailed way over Reagan and then the ball came into the guy and just kind of pushed him over as Minnesota now working in their own half sixty eighth minute of a one one match Gomazandrade. The goal for Seattle came in the seventeenth minute. The old goal for Minnesota came in the fifty sixth minute. Jackson felts Marcus Hanneman Saunders FC Soccer on Sports
Radio at ninety three point three KJRFM. Ball into the box for SuSaNi Dotson. Dotson is able to poke that one towards Stephen Fry, and Fry is just gonna swat that one out. Hassani Dotson didn't get much power at all on that one, Marcus, but it was enough to force the save from Stephen Fry. Yeah, somehow a terrible clearance from Yamar and then he's kind of kut of his back to goal. Kind of a little side volley, kind of a little cheeky shot there. As a goalkeeper, you don't see
it all the way and sometimes caught him off guard. Almost here comes to the corner. It's an end swinger and it will go right to the side of the nets and out for a Sounder's goal kick. Well, Sounder fans. If the Sounders FC scores anytime after the eighty eighth minute during a home match, you'll have the chance to win free lasic surgery from Sharp Vision, Modern Lasic and lens. Sign up today at sandersfc dot com slash laser focus. Because we're in the sixty ninth minute, now, long ball trying to
reach Albert Rusnack cut out in Minnesota. Take this one over because we still wait to see the first change from Brian Schmitzer. It looks like he is about to make one. In discussions, we'll see what green Jersey comes onto the field there. As Minnesota builds on the right side, Trody sends a ball into the box but nobody there and Gomez Andrade will be able to clear
that one out and back down we go. Ball defeat of Jordan Morris now Obed Vargus as Jual Paulo is on the ground now and we will stop play. They will stop play for Jual Paulo who's on the ground, hands at his head. Manu or no So trying to help JP up, but JP needs a minute. It appears we'll have to go back and see what exactly here, and we'll see if this is the change for Brian Schmitzer. Here in the seventieth minute, it is the change, and the change comes in.
It's actually gonna be Nicholas Ladero leaving the field here in the seven youth minute for Leo Chew. So Marcus, it's an interesting move here from head coach Brian Spencer taking off Ladero, who has the assist today on Gomez Andrade's goal. You would imagine that what this does is it put Albert Russnack in the number ten spot. He's gonna go to the middle of the park, Leo Chew will go onto the left wing, and Jordan Morris will flip onto
that right wing. That is what it is seems would be about to happen here. Yeah, good call Jackson, But you know we're in the seventieth minute, the game away from home. Maybe it's time to take Ladero off, and you know he's getting a little bit tired. Who knows exactly, We've got a whole bunch of games coming up that are super important. But I do like the change. It might it might bring some spark. And Rusnack's been really quiet out on the wide right. We haven't said his name
too much tonight, been not non existent, but really quiet. So maybe Morris can put some pressure on on that right side. Two more changes from Minnesota here or to follow the Sounders. It's gonna be Will Trapped coming out and song Been Jung coming in form Minnesota. And then mender Garcia, the twenty four year old striker from Columbia. He comes on for Temou Pouki as
well. So those are the two changes there. Again offensive changes where you get an attacking winger and Ben Jong coming on for Will Trapp who is a defensive midfield or Minnesota once again offensive moves looking to go for it Seattle and move offensive as well, trying to get a speedy winger. Leo Chew on the field, will be on that left side, and the Sounders now have the ball as the sun now only holds about now ball into the box here
can find Leo Chi. Leo Chi to the midle park for Jordan Morris and Morris can't get there. Oh, Jordan Morris, maybe if he was just a slight bit faster Marcus on that ball, He's able to get to the end of that one. But a nice design there for Leo Chi to send that to the middle of the box. Yeah, I don't think Morris believed that Leo Chi was able to cut that ball back to him. He was
a little bit late on that run. And great run from Leo Chi to get around the back and then able to cut it back to the top of the box, and Morris was a little bit late. Hats that a shame that one, because if Morris did get to the end of that one, that is one hundred percent a shot on goal. As now Minnesota will bring it up on the right side. It's like Jackson Reagan had fallen down.
He's getting back onto the field and now Ben Jong has the ball towards the corner of this box, but it looks like he dribbled it out and that will be a Sounder's goal kick here in the seventy third minutes one one Minnesota United Seattle Sounders Aulon's Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In this game, now with eighteen minutes left, the teams have made their initial subs, both teams going offensive. We'll see how things shift here as Minnesota's new men on
the field trying to get some get some work there. We've also seen Iver should mention Hassani. Dotson has now retreated into his comfortable position of holding midfield from Minnesota, so he's playing further back with Minnesota's winger. Twenty one year old winger from South Korea now on the field. Is there now work on the right side with Raino so you can get some space for a cross,
but Jackson Reagan does well to cut that one out. He gets to the foot of Albert Rusnak Rusnack to Leo Chio trying to find some space, but quickly taken away from Hassani Dockson now to rains over on the left side for Song Ben Jong looking working on Alex Roldan for some space. Cross comes in, but it has hit away from Alex Roldan, forcing in Minnesota corner to come in the seventy fourth minute. Marcus Man, it's gonna be exciting last
twenty five minutes of this game. The game is the second half, it's been remarkably different. It's been end to end. You know, the Sounders haven't played great. They were able to control the pace of the game in the first half, and the second half it's been just end to end. Ronoso the corner comes in headed away from gomazan Jotti. He sends it in the right direction. He sends it back out towards midfield, nowhere near the Sounders goal. You're not gonna let him live that down, are you?
No? I mean, it would be kind of cool, though, three goals in a game, if it would just hopefully that third comes on the offensive side. It's a shame because he did score the own goal in the fifty sixth minute. If you're just joining us and gomaz Andrati also scored for the Sounders in the seventeenth minute, both goals scored in this game from Yamar Gomez Andrade's head. Sounder is now looking for some space on the right side, with Joel Polo now in the middle of the park for Ralrie Diaz.
With some hold up play, he's knocked off the ball. The Sounders still control with Joel Polo and Russneck sending it off on to the left. Here comes new who running down that left side. He will cross a ford to Jordan Morris, who's once again just a step behind the ball. Jordan Morris nearly has an easy tap in and Marcus. As we watch this one again, it's the same talk as last time. Maybe he was on the ball this time, but Jordan Morris just not able to get the right part of
the leg on that ball in what could have been a Sounder's goal. Yeah, great ball from new who he's asking Leo to run down the line, was looking for something and then he saw Morris making that run to the back post. Good, good outswinger ball for the goalkeeper in swinger for Jordan Morris, and it just took a big skip. But you know he was disappointed. Morris was disappointed with himself there. Yeah, he should be. That
was another chance for Jordan. That's two in the last five minutes where Jordan's had it there in Minnesota's end and just hasn't been able to find it. Now Leo Chow running and trying to cross and that will go out for a Sounder's corner. Here in the seventy sixth minute, Leo Chow's burst and speed
down the left side has caused havoc since he's come onto the field. Marcus, this is what in Seattle needs right now, that speast and that getting guys in behind that right there, mean more of that here in the final fifteen minutes last game. Leo Chio was reluctant to do that last season and this season he's like, yeah, I'm just gonna take a touch, push, push it past you, and you're gonna have to make a great defensive effort there to even save a corner kick. I'm gonna get in behind every
time get across in. And he did that again today. And here's Rusnak with the in swinger coming in on the far side post on the corner. That's knocked away if foul is called though, and Minnesota will be able to reset this one here in the seventy six minutes. Well, Saint Clair wasn't very convincing on that, but somehow he got away with it. There's a
foul called on somebody who the ref is found his whistle. The second half, he has a lot more than this first half, certainly, as Minnesota now works around the back end of their own half with Saint Clair and here his two center backs no real pressure from Albert Russneck and Ral Ruids, and now Minnesota is still working around their side looking for some space now down on
the left side with Tapias into the middle of the park. Now bringing it up with Rosales looking to cross in, but Jackson Reagan does well to slide that one back towards midfield and rawl Ruidis, but Minnesota will control again. Here's Tapias, the center back from minnes in his on half the field. No real intensity from Minnesota right now, just maybe both teams taking a moment
to breathe before the final intense few moments of this game. As Minnesota looking for some space now in Seattle's half of the field, He's Schrody over the left to Greg Gooch right here, switching the point of attack to the left side, but Knew who comes and steps in, gets in the middle of
that one and forces a Minnesota throw in. Now in the seventy eighth minute of this game, at Alion's field, shade now covering nearly the entire field here at Elim's just about five yards of sunlight on the far side of the field. As Minnesota now looks to get into the final third with Greg Goosh now finding some space now on the left side her Song Benjong looking to cross, but results gets in the way of his own man and Joel Paulo is
able to clue that one away. Some communication issues right there from Marcus from
Minnesota. I'm not sure if they were communicating with each other at all at that point, because Song Ben Jong was trying to take a ball to the middle of the park, perhaps to take a shot from long distance, but his winger Rosales got right in the way and Minnesolla have to reset here in the seventy eighth minute, Ray Knows so now working through the middle of the park, but stopped in his tracks from Leo Chu and Minnesota will have to
reset. And it's now Ray no so sitting on the ground. Minnesota star midfield or sitting down for a few moments here and they'll have to work without him. It was a great tackle from Leo Chi. It was now on the left side with Tapias and Rosales looking for some space to cross, but Jordan Morris closing him down. Now here's Hasani dots and working his way into the middle of the field, going over to the right side for DJ Taylor, but no space there now Ray knows, so back up looking to get
in. Here's Taylor cross comes in shot and that is high above the goal from raynos So it ended up getting back out at Shrody. I should say had the end of shot, but that one far above the goal and Marcus is one of those moments, a nice building, a nice set of possession there from Minnesota. But again, if that's if that's the best shot they're gonna get out of it, then I'm all right with that because that ball sailed ten yards high above that crossbar. Yeah, Knew Who is able to
close down. He's tried to slash it across the goal. Reagan slides in, gets a pretty good clearance, doesn't clear all the danger. There's a shot some another body from the Sounders coming in. So I think the Sounders are fine in their form defensively again in their second half, but now it's a giveaway in Minnesota. Will have it right back towards Sounders final third. On the right side, here's DJ Taylor has space, he finds Shrody Showdy
now has three sounders right around him. Has to go back out. And now it's Raino so working on Knew who right down towards the corner post. He'll have to come right back out. Now has another sounder right on him. It's Leo Chew. Leo Chew will force a throw in. Nice defensive
play there from Leo Chew, who's come into this match. He's done well on the offensive end, he's done really well on the defensive end in these last few moments as well, as Minnesota will have a throw in and they'll keep this ball on the right side pressure from Leo Chew and they'll have to switch the point of attack to the left. But Jackson Reagan steps in front of that one and sends it all the way back out to Minnesota, and
Tapius will send it all the way back out to Dane Saint Clair. In just a moment, with just a hair of pressure, the Sounders forced Minnesota all the way back to their own goalkeeper. As the clock now has hit the eighty first minute here at a Lyons field, and now Minnesota up to the left side trying to reset find an angle onto Rosales spaced across hits off of Jordan Morris, and it will come now from Minnesota throwing about fifteen yards
from the end line. Well, the last ten minutes of this game one one, It's gonna be interesting how the Sounders approached this. Are they gonna, you know, be happy with the drawer. Are they're gonna go for the win here? Because you know this is a team that you know as a potential to push Sounders out of the playoff spot. That's right, Minnesota only five back of Seattle. Right now across from Minnesota has come in, but it'll be sent out for a throwing. You look at the standings right
now. It's while he mentioned earlier, six points dividing third place, where all assault Lake from tenth place in Minnesota. Minnesota at thirty one, Seattle still fourth place in the Western Conference at thirty six. But a wild weekend in the West, and it's right now a total logjam right now from three to ten is Minnesota now work on the left side. They are looking for
all three points. They're looking to get back in the playoff picture right now, just sitting in tenth, just outside nine teams make the playoffs in MLS. So Minnesota just barely on the outside looking in. The team who is in ninth place, Austin who lost yesterday to Dallas. They're the Sounders opponent coming up on a Wednesday. Here's Minnesota attacking on the right side with DJ Taylor. That's gonna be out for a Minnesota corner. Knew who got a
foot on the end of that one. He's complaining, Marcus, But this will be a Minnesota corner here in the eighty second minute, as we see this again, no one really knows what knew, who's ever complaining about? But this is definitely one of those parts where we want ruy Diaz to be up high because Minnesota is gonna be pressing here. They're gonna be playing for this win, and the Sounders really are gonna need to hold this off at
one one is okay? Result away from home, all these things a team below you because you definitely can't let them beat you, But you want Ruey Diaz to be up top because with them pressing, we want that quick countertech. You're hearing some booze coming in. New is sitting on the ground for a few moments, but he's back up. And here comes Rainosa with the end swinger headed along and that is eventually going to go out for I believe a goal kick. Michael box All ended up getting a foot to that one.
Michael box All complaining that knew who ended up getting a foot right after his and he will win that argument with the ref Reid's being changed from a goal kick to a corner right No, so to take again another ring swinger in the eighty third minute, Here it comes and that is headed to the back post, getting a foot on the end of that one, and the shot is gonna be results said, it long and high above the goal. But as we see Varcus again, what happened on this corner reached the back
post with an open man. It looks like it's mendor Garcia at the back post getting his foot on that one was space, just was able to do nothing with it. Had to send it back out to rosalas his shot went high poorly. You know that that's just a poor first touch from the Minnesota forward, mender Garcia. Man. As much as I was complimenting the defense and the Sounders in the first half performance with their shape, their positioning there
they're spacing. The second half has been not quite a disaster, but you know, Minnesota's looks so dangerous on every set piece, no one attacking the ball, no one taking charge. I don't know what's going on with the communication, but it needs to be better, especially in these last few minutes of the game. It's absolutely right and a chance there for Minnesota again,
but a poor touch. Here we go again, Minnesota, a long ball they will control looking on that left side and Altrodan doing a nice job there on sung Benjah to take that one away and Seattle will get this one now with a moment with alextrold On getting into the middle of the park, but pressure now from Mendor Garcian Joel Polo Garcia is running and following JP is JP's looking for some help, looking for an outlet. He finally gets obed.
Vargas in the middle of the field. Now over on the left side for new who clock's now in the eighty fifth minute. Here Seattle Minnesota even at one Rusnack bringing it up on the left, trying to find a running Leo Chu, but cut out well from DJ Taylor, the fullback from Minnesota, and they will take this one back. Now it's Greg Goose in the midfield, working in the center circle, setting it over on the left side for Song Binjong. Now Greg Goosh has a lot of space in the middle of
the park over on the left side, no real pressure here. It's Grozales some space to cross, but it will hit off the back of Alex Roldan and a corner coming from Minnesota. Another set Marcus here in the eighty fifth minute. Gotta defend this one better than the last. Yeah, Stephen fry better be going crazy here yelling at his guys to do something. They here
to play a short corner. And here's Minnesota with that short Rainoso working on Alex Roldan, but alx Roldan does well to take that one away again and alx Roldan taking it to the corner post and that's taken away from Rainoso. Now here's Rosales pokes it forward, looking to the back post, but headed away from knew who knew? Who sends it forward. Minnesota still controlling. Now here's great goose and a shot from distance is saved from Stephen Fry.
Looked like that might have been going left of the post anyway, but Fry is able to slap that at one away. And here in the eighty sixth minute, Minnesota has another chance here as we see the replay here, and that was a very good save from Stephen Fry. Fantastic say from Stephen Fry going to his lower right. If he didn't he saw that thing the whole way, otherwise that thing was on a frozen rope into that corner. The
jury a good shot there. Corner comes in, goes all the way through to the top of the box and that shot is going to be high above the crossbar. A quick take there after that corner went back out to the top of the box there and it was once again a chance for the Sounders. So good getting because some good piece, good set piece defending, but Minnesota with chance after chance, and now here is a change. It's gonna be Paul Rothrock, the young Paul Rothrock coming onto the field now for roll
Ruy Diaz. This comes in the eighty seven men of Paul Rothbrock, who was signed to a first team contract last week before the Atlanta match. He's made a few first team appearances. He has three goals in four first team appearances this season. Marcus impressive for the young kid right here from Seattle. We expect with this change, Jordan Morris will now play forward for the Sounders.
Roth Rock a a winger who can play some forward now, a young player who's Brian Schmenzer has liked and who's shown him some good grits, some good defensive work from a attacking midfield spot. And we're gonna see him working
on this right wing for Seattle as they now have possession. Ruy Diaz seemed like he was disappointed coming off there, and you know, he's done great for us today Defensively, he hasn't been able to get on the score sheet, but defensively he put in the shift from us that I haven't seen too many better performances from him, you know, able to close down on the in the midfield, wins some balls back and he's done a great job today
for us. As Minnesota now works down the right side, DJ Taylor looking for some space and it's now is myel tryer Chhorty and Sounders now looking to get some prussure on the ball with asany Dotson. Now back to Taylor crossing this one to back post your's results. With some space, he will cross this one in, but it's deflected back out great goose. Now as Minnesota
is sending waves now with Rosolves on the left side. It's a cross in but definitely taken out there from Alex Roldan's working Obed Vargas where Don was playing inside the box. And now it's Jordan Morris with some space looking for Paul Rothrock but not able to find him on the right side. Minnesota will take
this ball back here in there on half the field. Block's just about to hit the eighty ninth minute and at this point after that defensive sub Paul Rothrock for ral Ruid Yez, you think Seattle would be very happy with a one one game here in Minnesota. You lost his going back to Leagu's Cup, you straight and then lost last week against Atlanta at home. Just to get a draw to start this big week of three games in seven days, that
would be big for Seattle. Have Austin coming up on Wednesday on the road, so if you can build some momentum with a draw here, that would certainly help his. Minnesota look to attack now on the left again with Rosales. F I'm beIN Jong Rozalis again. Now we are in the eighty ninth minute. We'll see how much stoppage time is added. Shouldn't be too awfully much. Hasn't been too much time wasting, no instances of bar only one
goal scored the Sonny Dotson middle of the field. Now for Minnesota. Over on the left side again for Rozales working on Paul Rothrock looking for some space to cross, but has to send it back out to Dawson. Dotson now into the box, petted and cut by Stephen Fry at the right post. Stephen Fry is able to grab that one another head getting on that ball into the box, that one by mender Garcia. But Fry does well, yeah, really good. Say from Stephen, I was wonder anybody's gonna come for
it. Doesn't get enough power on it to really stretch. Stephen. Fry makes a really comfortable save in the end, stays you know, doesn't react just or doesn't anticipate, just reacts to it. Is able to make it really comfortable save. Because we're seeing another change here. Believe this one's coming
from Minnesota's side. You know it's from Seattle side. Excuse me, I mean Albert Rusnat coming off the field for Hobby here Ariaga Ariaga, who played in the Tacoma Defiance win just a couple of days ago here in Minnesota as well as to come was playing Minnesota United too. Now Ariaga joins the Fray for an Albert Russnach very defensive play. Here is the Sounders Marcus are now building basically a back five wall. To say to Minnesota, you know,
all right, we're gonna get a couple of minutes of extra time. Good luck scoring on us. We're happy with a one win result here. Yeah, as well as it'll keep Jordan Morris higher up the field. And keep our attacking players because we've been defending with eleven guys today, so sometimes adding
that extra defender might kind of solidify things and go from there. Paul Rothrock does well to win that one, back tracking back from his wingers spot takes it away for Seattle, and we know the extra mile stoppage time is just three minutes, so three minutes for Seattle will lock this down and get a
big point on the road here today. As Jordan Morris has earned himself a foul here in the ninety first minute on Emmanuel Reinoso, they'll play quickly though, sending it out to the left for new who knew who a slow up play here in his on half of the field. Send it back now to Obed Vargas who slid back into a left back roll a little bit in this moment. Sounders being very patient with the ball in Minnesota. Not a lot of pressure right now, but you could tell Schmetz was felt like they were
under the gun a little bit by adding Ariega in there. But you know, sometimes that does free up some of your midfield to stay a little bit higher right, and you know, really good chance for new who there goes out for a Minnesota throw, but yeah, good, good opportunity was spaced on that left side in Minnesota now and they're on half of the field on the right now with Toppy Us on the left sending it all the way over to Rosolis. He's been up and down that left wing all day. He's
gonna be tired after this one. He's played some left back. He's played way high up the field is the left winger. It's Minnesota now in the middle of the park. Jan Gray Goose light around the sideccle Sonny Dotson, Dotson now bringing it up into the Sounders final third over on the left for Reinoso has obed Vargas right in front of him. Reinoso looking for some space across here. It comes far post chested by Knew, who caught by Stephen Fry, and Fry will take an extra second on this ball. As the
clock now has hit ninety two zero zero. We are in the final sixty seconds of this match and the three minutes of added time. Fry bounces the ball twice in front of him and his blue keeper Jersey, and he will send this very long as the Sounders, hoping to survive these last sixty seconds
and Minnesota will defend this long ball. Well. Paul Ross worked a nice job of giving some danger to that Minnesota back line, and he's earned himself a throw in about ten yards from the end line in Minnesota side of the field with thirty seconds remaining. This is the last chance here in Seattle has something. I don't know why we don't kick it long like that every time. If we're gonna get a throw in in their final third twelve yards out from goal, don't we do that every time? Here we go, this
may be the last chance of the game. Alex Troldan's short throw to roth Rock roth Rock at the corner post right now, just right at the corner post, trying to basically force a thrown or a corner roth Rock still has it and that will be in Minnesota throwing as that ball finally goes out. But Paul Rothrock acting at the corner post there, I mean the Sounder has had a throwing deep from Minnesota's end. Looked like that could have been something
there, Marcus, but they play more defensive very much. Okay, with this match ending one one, it seems yeah, but he could have easily tried to play it off for a corner, which I thought he was going to do and just wasn't sure about it. So he's gonna just keep it. Make sure the Sounders keep possession because if he misses that and it goes into the keeper's hands, they're straight on the counter attack in Minnesota now with
control of this ball right along their back line. As we are now over the allotted three minutes, waiting that for that final whistle, Minnesota, maybe one more attack here, long ball over the top, will it reach mend our Garcia? It will reach him, but Javier Ariaga does well to jump in front of that one and force of throwing, and there is the final whistle here at Aulion's Field in Minnesota. The Sounders have gone on the road.
Gamar goomans en Jot scored two goals, unfortunately one of them was an own goal. Sounders one, Minnesota United one. Is the final? Is the Sounders pick up the road point? Brian Schmittzer exchanges handshakes with Minnesota head coach Adrian Heath. Lots of respect between those two men. Is this one ends with each team getting a point out of this one? Marcus, your
thoughts on now that we are ninety minutes full. Well, you saw a disappointment in Yamar, right, I mean, you know, he thought he came up with the game winner and then to pop one in past his own keepers. Devastating. Right. I've been on the goalkeeper side of that. I know what my defenders are going through. But the Sounders played great in the first half, and in the second half, Minnesota made some changes and
the Sounders were slow to make adjustments. And then just the quality of play from the sound in the second half it was like mispasses balls, you know, switch balls, and no one within thirty yards. We couldn't even tell who they're going to on the camera. So a little bit frustrating. Schmetzer is not going to be too happy with that second half performance. But like you said, it's a good draw away from home a team that's coming behind
you. So it was a definitely six pointer game today, and if we were playing against somebody in the other conference, we want to change what we were doing. That's absolutely right. We'll take a break, we'll come back, wrap up the broadcast and analyze the one one game between the Sounders and Minnesota United. Now it's actually Nicholas Ladare on the left side, crossing that one in comus on trot header and then it's a goal. Yaymark goms on Trony
gets his head on that one Seattle Sounders goal. In the seventeenth minute, the big center back from Columbia, the six two Mountain of a Man, sends it in past Dane Saint Clair and that is an early lead for your Sounders on the road. Welcome into the broadcast here and our effective postgame show
Jackson Folks and Marcus Hanneman from the KJR studios. As we wrap up this match, which was a one one game between your Seattle Sounders and Minnesota United here today, and Marcus said, let's just get to some final thoughts as
we look at overall at the stats and how this thing shook out. It was a very good first half for Seattle and then apart from the own goal, we can talk about exactly how they looked in the second half, but we see it fifteen shots from sixteen shots from Minnesota to only six of Seattle double us on target four to two. Possession wise, they outpossessed US by
just a few percentage points fifty four to forty six. But overall in this in this second half, Sounders could have done well to get three points out of this one. But at the end of the day, I think it will be a mixed set of emotions here because anytime you can get a result on the road, it is good. You can get a point, but
you just go back and you see how it could have been three. Yeah, And you saw Jaymar's reaction after the game and Stephen after the game, and Stephen Fry trying to console him, right because you knew he's just so disappointed, Right, he went from the game winner and then scoring the own goal, and you know he's kind of asking for you know, some communication and you know he knew he should have done better with it, but it's it's the good ball that comes in, which is ultimately you know, who
needs to take credit for it. And you know, Sounders, we've had too many misplaced balls and especially in the second half, free kicks going wide, and you know, you can see the frustration a lot of the Sounders faces when they're made, you know, in good, good positions and not able to capitalize because maybe that final ball isn't there. That's exactly right.
Well, this match ends one one, yomsandrad a goal for Seattle in the seventeenth minute and then an own goal in the fifty sixth minute for the final is one. One. Score update presented by Providence, Swedish match their Alliance field today in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Well, this copyrighted audiocast of Major League Soccer may not be retransmitted, reproduced, or rebroadcast without the express written consent of Major League Soccer. With just a minute left here, we'll take
you to do some upstated standings here. This is good for Seattle in the sense that we now have jumped into third place in the Western Conference. Now at thirty seven points, a real Salt Lake has the same record as we do in terms of why I shouldn't say losses. They also have ten wins and seven draws. They've played one less game, but Sounders have it on goal differential four plus four goal differential to our sells minus two. So Sounders
are now in third place in the Western Conference. Minnesota stays in tenth place with thirty two points, but it is an absolute log jam. Minnesota at thirty two, Austin right ahead of them, also at thirty two points, they have one more win. Austin as the team Seattle will face on Wednesday.
They and right above them Dallas with thirty three, Vancouver with thirty four, San Jose with thirty five, Houston with thirty five, Salt Lake thirty seven, Sounders thirty seven, five points divides three through ten in the Western Conference. Right now, Marcus, this will be a wild last eight eight games of the regular season. Well, and you know, going to Houston
now, so you see how valuable that draw away from home is. Right, if we were talking about a game from out of the conference, Yeah, losing, you know, you press, you might press a little bit, but that point is still valuable, but a team below you pressing, you know, those six pointers. That's what we talk about, because it could have been a massive game. And you know, disappointing with how the
Sounders played in the first half, super professional. Second half, the spacing defensively wasn't great, the quality of the passing wasn't great, the set pieces wasn't great, and then and then they're not even able to score. We end up scoring on ourselves. So it's a you know, it's really a disappointment. You know, I don't wouldn't want to be in that locker room today, you know, just a downer of a day from what it could have been. Well, and now you have Austin coming up on just on
Wednesday, so I mean, well, I actually don't even know. I wonder if they will fly back to Seattle today, get them two training days and leave for Austin on Tuesday, or if they'll just go directly from Minnesota Austin. I mean that's I mean, obviously we aren't in the in the Sounders locker room, in clubhouse and information, but I wonder what they would do in this road road turnaround in such a short time. Yeah, they might go straight there. I mean, they've done that in the past,
but I don't know. But when you have a game that you're disappointed with as a player, you want another midweek game because you don't want to dwell on this all week because you'd be, you know, Monday, Tuesday, everything would be about the last game and you'd have to focus on the next one. And the important thing is now just focusing on Austin. So now
Sunday, right today, we're just going to figure out. Okay, Monday morning, it's already talking about Austin focusing on the next game, and and Yamar, I bet can't wait to play the next game, you know, with after scoring an own goal, and you know, it's just one of those things you're trying to get to play as fast as you can, to forget about this performance in a team right below you a super important game coming up, massively important because if Austin win that one, the Western Conference will
look very very different on Thursday morning. By the way, then you look at the Eastern Conference. It's even crazier right now because right now only two points divide second through sixth place. We have just one minute here. It's speaking of the Eastern Conference. Lionel Messi gets a goal in a in a Miami win. I mean watching Leonel Messi Marcus right now, it's it's something to behold. He's basically taking over this league. They won Leaks cut Miami
did. He is like a wrecking ball right now through this through MLS. Who is he? Is? He a good player? I don't know, he's some kid from Argentina. Yeah, he might be a little bit. Pretty good, pretty good. He is obviously one of the top players in the world and current top players in the world. And you could see, you know, every place they're going, He's gonna fill out every stadium and you can see what it means to him. You know, he's putting in
a performance and you can see the quality of player he is. And you know, I remember watching him and you know, uh when he was coming up and guys were just trying to kick him and they couldn't even he couldn't even get close enough to kick him. I mean, he is he is one of the top players. And you know the question everybody asked, who is the greatest player of all time? He is definitely in there. No
matter where what department you're in, I might pick a goalkeeper. Which goalkeeper I might go Schmichael or Vandasar right, Yeah, I mean I'm I'm kind of old school, but you know it's MESSI Ronaldo, right, I think you know as the you know, and you go have to go back and
you might go Maridonna or whatever. But you know, top player in the world, right for sure, and you know for him to come back, and you know, it's still he's still got a lot to give, right and he had a chance to make you know, some big money going some other places, and just awesome to see him in the league and hopefully he helps our sport grow here. Yeah, it certainly already is. You look at just the people in the eyes on MLS via Apple TV. It's just
outstanding. So he's certainly doing a lot for the league. Yeah, he's he's quite outstanding. Well, that'll do it for our broadcast today.
