Look, the Sounders have been on a tear as of late. In that game, specifically against San Jose felt like a heartbreaker, right, It felt like a loss. And when I talk to friends and family, they're like, oh, the Sounders played ten days ago they lost, right, And I was like, no, they tied and it was a two tuo.

But those are the ones that feel like a loss. And yeah, you're right.

You want to get back on the horse immediately, of course you do. You want to revenge what you did wrong, but you know, the schedule is what the schedule is. And now the Sounders had ten days to kind of rest and relax and they get their legs underneath them, and now it's about getting a result against Houston.

That is a beatable team tonight.

When we'll talk about the lineups, there's a big, big advantage for the Sounders tonight to be flying in this one, especially at home fan appreciation night, and it's it's a good script for the Sounders to hopefully make the playoffs tonight.

I've come to learn that you know when you when you give up a late goal, as we did with San Jose, and especially San Jose, you know they're out of the playoffs and so they're at the bottom of the table and you think this could be a great game to get a shut out and get three.

Or four goals.

But when you give up a goal and it's a tie, it's just it is like a loss, as you say, Jackson.

Other way around, me score you know it's with a minute to go to tie the game up, then it feels like a victory.

So but that was a deflating.

And you know, whether you come in fifth, sixth, seventh, you still have to have your best players playing well. And things can happen on the field where you can see the silly goal or a PK and you lose tight games one nothing, but

When Christian picks up the ball and Obed pick up the ball, the first thought is how do I get it to Albert? And then Albert has to be that piano player. Everyone else carries the piano off. The Sounders go to me.

It's for me, it's Alex oll Don because you know, he was so distraught after the game last week when Murray got in behind him or got to the ball ahead of him for the tying goal for San Jose. And to Brad's point right there, I think your players, your big time players, have to step up. Alex so far this year one goal, one assist. I mean he's continuing to press and trying to get the absolute most.

Himself, I think he's just so immensely talented. You know, he doesn't need to push, push, push, He can settle and play within his own self, which again it's just it's so good. We can see Pedro de la Vega be the player that we all think he can be. He just hasn't had enough time, I think, to play within and kind of get his legs under him while healthy and also just learn his teammates. So hopefully with this consistent time getting the start again today we see

Change the point of attack, get the flanks involved, get Paul Rothrock involved on one side, make sure that he's getting on the end of crosses de le Vega on the other side. Restarts I think are going to be important, and that you can't switch off cannot switch off.

Not during the run of play. It's certainly not during restarts.

I think that caused has killed us last last game with San Jose, So ninety minutes of focus. But again to Brad's point, start strong, start quick, be sharp, don't let them think they're going to get involved in this game.

If you're gonna be up there as an attacking player, you've been there myself, you're gonna miss chances. The best thing to have is amnesia. We saw clean, we saw old, but those kind of guys here they missed a lot of chances too.

What we remember though is the ones that are put in the back of the net, and it's the same for Jordan.

What they are Jordan is this passed now thirty games in regular season play, only the second time his crew has done that. So there was a time, of course, just a few years ago, where he'd be held out of games, body would be managed. But the resilience that he's shown this year in terms of being on the field being available, I think his goalscoring records certainly proved that he's found a way to stay on the field and performer a really high level.

And he's had to because as the season's gone on, obviously diminishing returns from Rediaz who just haven't been able to get into the lineup for various reasons, and you don't really have too much depth beyond that. Jordan's had to play, and he's seen him in an Open Cup. He's played in every chance he's had got to play, he has and he's made a big difference.

Earlier this afternoon, FIFA announced there will be twelve United States stadiums hosting games for the Club World Cup in twenty twenty five. One of those twelve stadiums is indeed Loomin Field. Lumen Field here in Seattle will host games in the twenty

Well that in a meaningful game.

We've had a lot of oh great teams that have come here for some friendlies, but a meaningful game.

Here's what I like about this one.

It's at a time where the Sounders are not at the very beginning of a season as they were when they went and played in Morocco.

That was the very very beginning of January, yeah, February. This is July.

And then the second thing that's just really fun about this is that one year so that the Club World Cup goes June thirteenth to July fifteenth, that's the same timeframe of when Seattle will be hosting six World Cup games in twenty twenty six, So pretty exciting time if you're a soccer fan, Uh, to be in this city. We're gonna be engulfed by a lot of people. I heard a stat that they expect seven hundred and fifty thousand people to come to Seattle for the World Cup.

Half will have tickets.

So you might want to start a hot dog stand or a kool Aid stand in your front yard because.

We're gonna be Is there money in the banana stand?

Yeah?

I don't know, but but but five people understood that reference. Maybe I'm not one of them.

But here's the deal.

This will be come at a time for the Sounders that they should be up and running, and they'll put some emphasis on this as they did before in the Champions League.

So uh, that'll be a fun thing.

And then I hopefully we get a preview and hopefully we can get a capacity crowd here for for these.

Every every game. Yeah, it's gonna it's gonna be absolutely massive. I mean, you know, who knows what the matchups end up being at Lumen Stadium, you know, Lumanfield here, you know, and who we end up seeing. But the atmosphere next June, you know, and the atmosphere of the June to follow. I mean, we're in for the next two calendar years here in Seattle for soccer. It's just going to be a dream.

The least Watch game had two hundred million viewers. The least watch game the Super Bowl a month later had one hundred and seventy five million viewers. What's what's the dream scenario? The dream scenario is that you know the Sounders are playing a man City or a real Madrid here Luminfield and Brian Schmenzer is on the sideline coaching in a competitive match against one of those teams, not ten minutes from where he grew up.
