Welcome to the Sounders FC post match show. Sounders FC Sucker is brought to you by Providence, Swedish official healthcare partner of Seattle Sounders FC. The Sounders FC post Match Show starts now. Well. The run for the US Open Cup for your Seattle Sounders in twenty twenty three has ended. It is a three to one loss for the Rave Green in Carson, California against the LA Galaxy. Welcome into the postmatch show. Jackson Felts alongside Andrew Harvey and Keeley
Dunning. We are here for the next half hour or so. Jacob Waldo running our board. A great call from Danny Jackson and Brad Evans, but unfortunately it is a loss for our Sounders in California. We'll be breaking down a lot for the next half hour. We're gonna talk about this match, what we saw in this loss. A lot of young players got time and
got performances and got opportunities. We'll talk about that. We'll look ahead to what's next for not only the Seattle Sounders, but for Tacoma Defiance because Wade Weber got a lot of players. There's some good run in this game. So we'll talk about what's ahead for both the Rave Green and Tacoma Defiance coming up later on in the post match show as well. And then of course, well you know we don't have a Sounders Weekly on KGr this week,
so in lou of that, we have Andrew Harvey here. And for those who who listen to Sounders Weekly frequently for the last how long have we been doing this too long? I know people have been have been dying to get me off your show checks and it hasn't stucked yet. Well, I mean, you are our Puget Sounds soccer expert and you've talked all things you can take us around the sound each week, talk all things Defiance, ol Rain and Ballard FC, which you are the playlight play voice for for Ballard FC.
So we're gonna talk to some Ballart FC later on in the show as well. So for those who don't know, maybe you yeah, I didn't hear. First season for Ballot FC was last year and made it to the Western Championship Western Conference Championship in their first ever season, and now here comes to year number two, so we'll talk about that later on in the postmatch show. So there's a lot to get to here, but let's start tonight by looking at this match, the three to one lost there in Carson,
California. You know, we talked about this at the halftime show, and you know, everybody has a plan until you get punched in the face, right, And in the third minute, great long distance call biote and it's a ball that Stephen Cleveland gets a hand to, just barely, but it's really a fantastic strike into the upper left corner of the back of the net.
And it is one nothing galaxy inside of three minutes. And Andrew at that point, I know the Sounders end up playing well in the forty five minutes, but that's really tough when you have to have a third minute goal go against you on the road in a cup match. Well, it's it's that old adage to the point of being a cliche of how an early goal changes a game, right, and it really causes especially for a young roster, right. I think that we talked about it at halftime. It leads
that extra little bit of shakiness. Some of the touches in the passes don't go quite where you're intending them to because you're a little bit flustered. I think the Sounder has responded really really well. The young players in particular who I think on the night, Admittedly they were the Lion's share of the roster, but I think some of the top performers were some of the young guys that Brian Spitzer turned to and said, get out there and show me what
you've got it. I think they did that. They just came up a little bit short, and I think between that early given up goal and then really, in my mind, this match was so much gonna come down to who scored the first goal at the second half, and it wound up being La That's exactly right, and we'll get into the second half in a moment, but you know, you're right, those young kids were having I think,
really solid games there as the first half progressed. I mean the development and the connections, the combination play from Ethan Doublare, Dylan Tevez on that right side, their combination play, especially with Freddie Montero up top, and Freddie Montero had probably the Sounders best chance at the game in the tenth minute,
that the best chance that didn't turn into a goal. We'll get to their goal in a moment, but you know, that combination play from especially Ethan and Read as well Read Baker widing on the right back spot that was looking very very good. And you know, one of the interesting things as we kind of bleed this into the second half discussion, is the fact that Brian waited all the way until the sixty third minute to make a change,
eighteen minutes after the second half started. And that surprised me a bit because I was expecting to see a lot more dual Paulo, perhaps Nicholas Ladario come in early, but it wasn't. It was Susan and a Bieldosen who are able to get into this match in the sixty third and I think that is a little bit of a nod from Brian. Spenser is saying, you guys are playing well. They're on that right side, you know, Read and
Ethan, I'm not going to mess with things there. Well, you know, not to go straight into like parenting metaphors Jackson, but I think right part of having the confidence to put a young lineup out there and saying, let's see how you handle this is also having the confidence to tell them, look, you've gotten yourselves into a hole. Let's see what you can do to dig yourselves out. Of it, and it was the young guys that
kind of sparked that goal and brought a lot of the momentum back. So for Brian, I think particularly right, the Sounders want to win everything all the time, and tonight didn't quite work out. You know, there goes one shot of the trophy this season. But I also think the opportunity to get young players minutes like this against competition like Pooge and Chitcharrito and out Of
and so many other talented La Galaxy players. That was a first choice starting lineup because the Galaxy could not afford to lose this game, Jackson, it would be devastating to their hopes for the entire twenty twenty three season. That's exactly right, the Galaxy. Just let's say it plainly, the Galaxy aren't going to win anything else this year, so they might as well go for the US Open Cup. Right now, they have three points in Major League
Soccer, They're tied for the worst team in the league. They're having just a terrible, terrible season. So yeah, it makes sense why they would throw out a top shelf lineup with Ricky Pooge, who was I mean, can we just spend a second Ricky Pooge is twenty three years old, was in Barcelona's system and now he's playing for the Galaxy. He was really good a month a little over a month ago when the Sounders were down there the two to one win. But tonight, wow, I mean that dude can
dominate and just take over a match. He was spectacular, absolutely, But I will I will also throw out there Jackson. He was I think less effective in the second half for the time that he was out there because he came up. But compared to that first right, I think Soda, Kittahara and josh A Tensio responded pretty well all things considered to trying to shut down a guy who is very difficult to remove from a game. No, exactly.
A credit to josh A Tencio and Kihara too. And you know when we talk about the young guys, Georgie getting his first ever plays his debut for the senior team. They're coming on for Kitahara in the seventy seventh minute. Was good to see him. He has a lot of energy. He I mean, he runs about as hard and as fast as anybody had a trading session, so good to see him get run in overall, you know, just to continue kind of going through the timeline of this match. It
was the second goal, the first goal of the second half. LA scores in the sixty sixth minute. It's a corner bounces through right through the box. It's Memo mon Rodriguez with his first touch since coming on a second earlier, outside of the left foot, goes into the back of the net. They're on the left side to nothing. And then seconds later, I mean it was like a minute later. You have a great build up through the right side. Ethan Doublair sends in a fantastic cross and it's your player to
watch Paul Rothrock heading in the ball in the back of the net. And I should mention that that is our Emerald Queen Casino Play of the match, Paul Rothrock's goal. Um, there's no audio because I will take fault at this when I accidentally hit the escape button which deleted the audio. That's my bad, but I would tell you at least it wasn't the full broadcast. Yeah, thank goodness. Um. The Play of the Match each week is
presented by Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest. And Andrew, I mean Paul Rothrock, who had a goal in the game against San Diego. Now second game, second star or second you know, second goal that he picks up and listen. Not that Brian Schmitzer is going to insert him in into the eighteen anytime soon, but it is a it's a massive confidence booster for this kid wherever he's playing for the next number of months.
Absolutely, just really quickly. I will say, if you had actually deleted the full match audio, then you would have probably led with tonight was a night to forget. But no, right, I mean roth Rock. I think it's one of those ones where again he's a young kid. He's not quite as young as some of the guys who came through the academy pathway. But the beauty of Tacoma Defiance in this MLS next pro league now is you can take some of those guys. There are a very good number of American
soccer legends who didn't go through an academy. They played in college and sometimes it took him a year or two to kind of find their feet and play their way into the professional sphere. I think we're in the early stages of seeing if that's what's gonna be roth Rock's tail. I think that's a good point right there, and then we'll see where this takes him. So Roth Rock scores in the sixty eighth minute that made it a score of two to
one. You bring on Georgie we mentioned, and you brion Juel Paulo in the seventy seventh minute, and Joel Pollo did not play against Sporting Kansas City
on Sunday. This is what surprised me a little bit that it took till the seventy seventh minute to bring JP on as And now as I literally talk through this, I think to myself, it's probably because Brian Spencer knows that if that match went another thirty minutes, it's with Jual Paulo on the field, and if you were to bring him on, say in the sixtieth,
that might be asking sixty minutes out of JP. You know, maybe what you do is you you have him there knowing, okay, if we get a goal, if this thing ends, you know, to two and get another thirty, that's field forty five minutes for JP, knowing that he is going to be needed heavily in Saturday's mentioned Houston, so that that actually substitute is I talked through, it makes a lot more sense. And you have that sub, you have Ladaro in the eighty third, and at that point
you have your big guns on the field. You thought that it was going to produce something. But I don't think they. I don't think that the combination of JP and Ladero ever got their chance. With La scoring in the eighty fourth well, Jackson, I think right, this was never a match that Seattle is going to let finish as a one goal game. Yeah, you know, it's one of those ones where you see it all the time. You see the score one, you see three one, you go,
oh man, that must not have been very close. But it was a competitive second half. Seattle was rallying momentum. But the end result of any knockout competition is if you're chasing the game, you're going to commit numbers for it, which leaves some gas at the back, and that led to Rodriguez's
second goal of the night, which was a tidy finish. It absolutely was, and I think you saw that because you see on that specific play in the eighty fourth minute, the Sounders do commit a ton of people forward and then Raheem Edwards picks up the ball on the left side and Raheem Edwards ran about fifty yards. I mean, he had pretty much the entire field to just take off because there just wasn't there were there weren't those defenders there to
stop him. And by the time he got to the box lays it off to Memo, Memo Rodriguez, it was just there's there's three defenders in the area and none of them were on Memo and it's just, you know, it is what it is. So the end of the day, that is the third goal, and you push, you push, you push, you're not able to get another goal. It ends three to one, and the Sounders run in the US Open Cup ends by a score of three one.
I'll tell you that Delta Airlines is proud to donate one soccer ball for every mile ran by Sounder ZIPC players this season, the Ray Foundations one mile one ball program and Andrew, you know, in the Open Cup overall, right now, we've seen these last six years, Um, for five straight it was no wins. This year, you pick up the win against San Diego. You have a competitive match, you know, for most of this game down in Los Angeles. I'd like to say that the woes of the Open
Cup are now over. I'd like to to say, you know, for for so many years we looked at we looked at US Open Cups as the bugaboo is the trouble, and we can you can say, you know, you know the investment and how much you put into it as a whole separate thing. But whether it was a curse or not, I'm going into twenty and twenty four saying you no longer have have the monkey on the back of we got to get an Open Cup win that's now gone. You know,
I understand the monkey on the back sensation. I think it's exacerbated by the fact that the twenty twenty and twenty twenty one Cups were canceled right sore there. It's just a blank spot. And so as a result, that stretch feels worse than than it really was. Because it's true, prior to this, the last time, well including this one, the last time the Sounders went further than two matches, they played a third in the Open Cup because
they keep changing the format. Yeah, it was twenty sixteen, and all they've done in that span is win to two MLS Cups, finish his runners up in two, more one, four Western Conference championships in one concption. It's it's just it's one of those ones where, right again, the Sounders hate to lose at anything, and astonishingly they've they've managed to pretty much succeeded winning just about everything they've set their minds to in the span that they've been
in Major League Soccer. It's just one of those ones where on the night when you get knocked out of the Cup, that's the only thing on your mind. It's what twists you, and honestly, I think it's what makes this team as great as it is. I mean, if you're if you're looking at yet Keily, go ahead, No, dude, we just need to have Andrew on more often because he's mister positivity. And as as your
Sounders representative over here, I'm not upset about it at all. I mean, like, just keep the compliments going, keep the content, can, keep the context going. That's great. Context loved it, loved it. So you know, Well, with that said, let's look ahead because the Sounders have to jump right back into MLS actions. So it's going to be
Houston on Saturday. Let's take a break. Let's talk about not only what's up next for the Sounders, but what's up next for a lot of the players who played in this match, and what's up next for Wade Webber's squad with the Coma Defiance. They're having a good season so far in MLX, MLS Next Pro if I can say that correctly, and so we'll talk about
what's coming up for them. There's a lot to get to. Unfortunately, as we mentioned, the US Open Cup run here in twenty and twenty three has ended with a three one loss here in the round of thirty two to the LA Galaxy on the road in Carson, California. But there's a lot to look forward to. We'll continue with that on the postgame show coming up on Sports Radio at nine fifty KJR AM. Good days. We've hiking, say guten Pak. Welcome back to the postmatch show Jackson Felts alongside Andrew Harvey and Keiley Dunning breaking down what was unfortunately the end of the US Open Cup run for your Seattle Sounders tonight in twenty twenty three, a three to one loss down in
Carson, California against the La Galaxy. But listen, we gotta take a look ahead to what's next, because you know the every day the sun will rise, and for the Sounders, the sun will rise in Carson, California, and it will set in Houston, Texas, because that is where they are headed tomorrow for a match coming up on Saturday. Really quickly broadcast details on that the Sounders will be playing in Houston against the Dynamo this Saturday.
You can listen to that match on this station here. It's gonna be a five o'clock pre match show, the Providence Swedish Prematch Show five thirty kickoff from Shell Energy Stadium in Houston. You can also watch the match via MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app listen in Spanish language on Lay thirteen sixty. So that's coming up. We'll talk about that in just a moment really quickly, Andrews, let's run through some other Open Cup games here this week,
because I know one of them involved was the Houston Dynamo. Yeah, happy to Jackson. Bad news if you like cup sets tonight, I don't have any on offer for you. Seriously, we need to bring Andrew on more often. That was the best pun ever. Thank you very much. There, FC Cincinnati, you walk off one nil winners at home against New York City. FC Columbus Crew on the road against Loudon United, but they win five one. Not a big surprise there some USL Championship on USL Championship crime.
Birmingham Legion take down Memphis nine to one, FC three nil at home. Nashville sc two nil winners over Dallas Austin two nil winners over New Mexico United, also from the second division. RSL win on the road for three over the Portland Timbers down to Providence Park. Interestingly, about that seven goal match, Jackson, no goal scored after the hour mark, just a scoreless final seven before It's just a scoreless just a scoreless final thirty minutes. Thank
you. RSL did get real crowded from the fiftieth to the sixties. We had we had three goals in that ten minute span. And then finally Houston Dynamo one nil winner against Sporting Casey at home. So Houston is coming off a win. They didn't really play a lot of their starters in that one nothing win against Kansas City, so they're gonna be fresh for Saturday's match. And listen, this is a Houston team. I feel like we were just
talking off the air. Keiley, you can jump into the fact that you know, before a couple of years ago, the Sounders have always made this road trip to Houston in the months of like July, August, September,
when it was muggy and hundred degrees and just terrible playing conditions. They're making this trip in the month of May, which is far better, but still I mean, Houston Dynamo right now undefeated at home, and whenever you're playing a team who is undefeated at home in the Sounders were you know, just
going back to last Sunday, it's gonna be a tough test. Yeah, absolutely, And right there's a there was a weird, weird stat for the first five or six years where the Sounders were an MLS where they I think failed to take a point from all their trips to Texas or they could never get a win. I can't quite remember it was Steven had that stat, had that stat back when it was just Houston and Dallas. But it's a
really really difficult place to play. And right you say, well, they're going in the month more reasonable month of May, reasonable by tech and standards checks, and so it could still be quite unpleasant down there. Yeah. EPC Dallas is my second least favorite road trip to Houston. Least favorite. It's a giant parking lot, that is what that city is. It's a giant concrete parking lot. So I'm very happy that we will be producing radio
from iHeart Studios. All I can think of right now is is how I can make a joke off of parking the bus with that parking lot comment. But I have I'm coming up with a workshop. Get back to the writer's room, so so listen to sounders. That will be a tough match, and ultimately, I think one of the good things that you saw from this game was the fact that Nicholas Ledaril he does come off the bench and he does play, you know, fifteen or so minutes. Joel Poulos, same
sort of case. He does play another fifteen or so minutes. So for Nico, you get a little bit of a run in. Doesn't look like he takes a knock or anything. He'll be good to go. Joel Paulo, you know, Joel Polo didn't play Sunday against Sporting Kansas City. So the fact that he does get a few minutes on his legs tell us you he's now amped up, ready to go. So when you look at the team that Brian Spenser should be able to throw out there, this weekend,
should bention Leo Chew unavailable. He's staying in Seattle for the birth of his son. So no Leo Chew. But when you build the rest of this lineup, and I kind of talk through this, and there's no insight information,
no insight here, you're looking at a very very good team. You'd think a Bear starts at the fourth position, Jordan Morris on the left, Nico in the center, and probably Albert russnack off to the right, Joel Paulo holding next to a There's an interesting question there because Josh Atencio played long tonight, but I think you have a lot of good depth at that position. You have a question market left back with knew who and his situation with
his in large spleen reed Baker why went long today? So the question market left is interesting, or right back considering Alex rolled on, but it's Yamar
and Jackson Reagan with frying goal. I mean, there are is a couple of question marks there, but ultimately the Sounders are gonna be able to throw out a ridiculously talented team against Houston this Saturday, right and you know, equally important a fresh team Jackson that that's going on on fresh list because this Houston side in all competitions is unbeaten in their last six matches I believe, stretching back to the beginning of April. So you know, they're in a
good run of form. They have the advantage of playing at home and in slightly less hospitable conditions, I guess might be the right way of framing that one. And so you know, right to get such a performance out of the young guys tonight, even though the result wasn't you wasn't what you wanted, it does allow them to kind of stay fresh going into the weekend because
again, right, busy week coming up the week after as well. That's so correct, because they go to or they play Austin excuse me, Wednesday of next week, so it will be a very busy next you know, ten days for the Sounders, lots and lots of games to worry about. So we'll see how Brian Spencer does throw his starting formation coming up Saturday.
And then you know, for a lot of guys who played in this match as well and came off the bench started, guys like Paul rothrock U who's and I know Wade Weber is certainly watching was watching this match to see how much time and Paul Rothrock gets his goal and how much time a lot of his players play. Tacoma Defiance, you know, has has stuff coming up as well that Wade's going to have to think about how long guys went, what their status is, and how he can use certain players who played in
this match coming up for the Defiance match. Yeah, less crowded for the Defiance just two over the next two weeks for them. They they'll go this weekend at home against Minnesota United FC two. That match will be at Starfire and air on MLS next to pro dot Com. That's the fourteenth at eight pm. And then they'll be on the road at Vancouver Whitecaps two on the twenty first. Both those teams doing pretty well right now in the Western Conference
standings, but are lower than Tacoma Defiance. And again, right, it's one of those ones where you bring a guy back to MLS next Pro you can point out right, show him game film of him playing against Chicharito and Pooge and go, look, you can do it up there. We know you can do it down here. Let's just keep developing you and getting you to where we know we can start to reliably put you on the bench for the first team if you play your way to that contract. That's absolutely right.
And a guy like roth Rock we mentioned in the first segment that he's playing with such confidence right now. Two senior team games and two goals, So now you'd imagine that he with a few other guys fly back Cody Baker, by the way, and Cody Baker starts at left back. He started, of course against San Diego. He was on the short term agreement for the Sounders against Sporting Kansas City on Sunday. Cody Baker looks like a great left back, just a rock back there who plays so simple and just always
seems to make the right pass. I think Brad Evans mentioned that as well. Cody Baker seems like a guy that could definitely earn himself into a first team contract just by how it is simple and rock solid he plays consistently.
It's just so funny for me because I think I started calling Cody's games when he was fifteen, when he when he started making appearances for Defiance, you know, when he was still an accademy player down in the USL Championship, And so now you know here I am all these leaders and I'm just gonna be like, oh man, that's such an old man. And there's the
nineteen year old left back. But right, this is this is what the whole pipeline program has always been about, as can you get these guys to a place where they're playing professional soccer when they are fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, because by the time they are eighteen, nineteen twenty, you have a much better idea of what kind of player they might be able to grow into. And the value of playing professional ball is immense. It absolutely is.

a Seattle versus Portland battle. Rain versus Thorns in the NWSL happens at five o'clock there at louman Field. Additional tickets have just been made available for this marquee matchup given that high demand, So secure your seas today by visiting Sounders FC dot com slash tickets. But Andrew, before we get to June third, what's going on with ol Rain right now? Well, Jackson, they're top of both their respective tables at the moment. They are at the top
of their NWSL Challenge Cup group stage. They play Angel City to a scoreless nil nil draw, but an earlier win over Angel City has them out in front. That competition doesn't really get played on a consistent schedule, so more updates on that to come. They're also top of the league table as they're currently on pace for their fourth NWSL shield in Italy. It's still early phases of the season, but they're there by virtue of a two nil win over
the Houston Dash last weekend and that allowed them to vault Portland. They've taken thirteen points from their last five matches. Oh that's yeah, it's not bad. That'll four and one in five matches. I'll take that literally every day of the week. That's fantastic. Um, yeah, four shields me and my goodness. If if they're able to three so far so if if they're able to get that fourth, I mean, my goodness, and congratulate.
I mean obviously they got it last year. I believe this. The two nothing win was there one hundredth win in NWSL regular season history too, So um heck of a job ol Rayner right now doing Hopefully they can keep it up in the NWSL. Now. You're also they play by play voice oh our local squad Ballard FC and by the way, I see you wearing their new kid, which is just unbelievable. That's a clean of as clean of
a fit as I've ever seen. I mean, for those who don't know, there is a USL two side, Ballard Ballard FC, who plays right out of Inner Bay Stadium, right up the road here and first season ones last year went to the Western Conference Championship in their first ever year. But Andrew, we're about to start year two, aren't we. Yeah, just around the corner, Jackson. They have a friendly at home against the Vancouver
Whitecaps U nineteen's next Thursday. Very interestingly chose to have that the day after sitting, to my uh but but you know, thankful it won't be a problem for the players, might be for some of the fans. I'll be taking the seventeenth off of sitting to buy celebrations. Nobody wants to see what
that looks like. And then they are on the road at Olietown FC, the other Washington USL two club right now to start the season on the twenty first couple home games coming up. You can find the whole schedule on go ballotfc dot com. A lot of matches sold out already for seated tickets,
but there's a great standing room only section. They actually just announced that the beer Garden is actually expanding in size and also will be all ages for people under twenty one who have someone over twenty one accompanying them, And of course the proceeds in that in the beer Garden go to benefit the Ballot FC Foundation, which they are using to raise money for teams like Cultures United and to help make a high level soccer education and training affordable to kids who might not
be able to play you know, expensive club ball. That's one of the things with BOUTFC that struck me is how community, community oriented that club is and they do so much and the work that the entire organization and obviously Lamar and Nego is a part owner two, you know, to connect it with the Sounders, but but the entire organization and to connect with you as well,
very much all efforts. Yes, it's to make a great on field product when games go get a cup, but at the same time it's to better the community and to be really kind of just embed themselves within the Ballot our Inner Bay community. And I know you're very involved in that as well. Yeah, yeah, well, and you know, I think right from a club perspective, it's something that tends to be in the DNA of all
the clubs out here, you know, the Sounders. It's in their mission statement, I think, and I'm trying to make sure I have it close to right, but it's to use soccer as a vehicle for good or something along those lines. And in thinking about, you know, what I might be able to do to contribute to that, I actually did some reflecting off
this offseason. Met up with a couple of folks at the Ballard Food Bank, which is an organization that they're very closely connected with at Ballot FC, and I'm pleased to announce I partnered with the Bridgekeepers, who are the best supporters group in USL League too, barn On, and we are doing what
we're calling our Community Goals Campaign for Ballot FC. So for every goal Ballot FC scores this year in friendlies and league play, in the playoffs and everything, I'm making the twenty dollars donation to the Ballard Food Bank and I've put a link up you can find that on my social media my Twitter and Instagram are at soccer vox vox and basically people can go and and pledge whatever they like, even if it's just a dollar a goal, just to try to
one give me an even better reason to be losing my mind when Ballard score a goal. Oh my god, they score that's amazing and we're raising money for a great cause. But the Food Bank does really amazing work. I could be here till eleven pm talking about it, but I won't do that that. The biggest things to me are are they are right? Their metrics
show that they're helping seven thousand people a month in our community. It feels crazy to say it, but potentially up to one in five people in Seattle or experiencing food insecurity, and that just doesn't seem like a problem that people need to deal with. But beyond that, they also use their center there as a hub for other services to come and reach at risk populations, so
that someone doesn't have to try to be taking the bus all over. You can just go to the Food Bank, get what you need, and also get connected with the service that you need to help me out. So there are a great organization. Whether you get involved with community goals or not, I urge you to look them up, think about donating, volunteering some of your time. Um, they're a fantastic outfit, and I am deeply honored to even be mentioned in the same sentences that so cool, dude, thank
you for thank you for doing that. So that's first. Secondly, Um, Jason Farrell is he? Is he? Where you're doing this? Because because I think at that point you go into the locker room, you say the and all these players you know from colleges locally and around that right there is the motiving guys score goals tonight, make Andrew Harvey spend two hundred dollars to have about food bank. So I will say when I was first talking about this, one of the first be all I talked to was Jason.
I mentioned that twenty dollars figure, and he pulled me aside and goes, listen, listen. We had a great year last year. We think our squad this year is even better. You might want to rethink that number, but I don't want to go ten dollars. I'm sticking to my guns, and I know it's all going to work out in the aggregate. Yeah, because you know about FFC scores, they scored quite a lot of goals last year. I've heard a score more this year. You have the check book
out now. But that means, in all seriousness, that's that's it's amazing what you're doing. So well done man. Thank you very much, Jackson, I appreciate it. Um, that's outstanding. Worked to be on the lookout, I mean next week for Sounders Weekly, well, we'll continue talking about that and we'll talk more Ballard FC. I'll probably have Jason on the show at some point soon. To look ahead at the twenty and twenty three seasons, is Ballard tries to get right back and go even further than the
West Final last year. Last thing here on the postgame show, and that's going to be something that I'm involved with. It's it's it's not doing as for good, Keiley. Is there a way we can we can make that for good? I mean that that's a heck of a thing to follow here. But no, we got the side by side podcast coming up with with Brad Evans tomorrow, Yes we do so. Steve Zakhani is out of town this week, so we'll have Jackson Felt's filling some very very large shoes on
the podcast tomorrow, published probably later in the afternoon. Check it out anywhere you got your podcasts Andrew. Everything you're doing is so cool and I really seriously need that jersey. Do they have it in an extra small well children's science We'll talk that will be that will be great and then so check out that side by side podcast tomorrow. I've decided that I'm not even gonna put
on the shoes. There's no way that I can even fit in those shoes, so I'm just gonna leave my socks on and uh and yeah, no no English accent, none of that stuff. Probably. I actually did try and do that once with the episode with Andy Rose. I was like, can I do a pen he He was just like, no, you can you Steve and Andy, Oh gosh, uh yeah, not gonna go anywhere near that, is Andrew, I see pulling up the jersey. By the way, they're all vill ones, Simply Seattle, Simply Seattle's ballad FC collection
is right there. Um, and they are the coolest jerseys you will find outside of the Seattle centers, of course. But yeah, very very cool job that ballad FC is doing with all their jerseys. But once again the rap of the broadcast, there sounders falling in the US Open Cup. They're eliminated from the two thousand and three twenty twenty three tournament by a score of
