But joining us right now on the program. The head coach of your sunders FC Ryan Schmitzer. Ryan, how are you pel

I'm great, I'm great, Softy good. Glad to hear that. You know, you guys were talking offline there and you guys had a hot mic going on. You and Jackson. He was filling you in all the details. I could hear every word you said. The kidding that's awesome. That is I'll tell you what the West is stupid. Joe West nearly just crapped himself. I don't think I miss anything bad. But by the way, and Brian, I'm glad that you brought that up. I've told you guys

this before that there's a problem when people are on hold. They can hear everything happening off the year with these microphones, so you may want to fix that. By the way, well, did you hear anything bad? By the way, Well, good thing you guys didn't say. Yeah, oh, so you missed the part when Jackson culture your head. You missed you missed that part that was good? Good, Well, well, why don't you just start there because you heard us talking about that. I asked Jackson,

why the why the East is so much better than the West? I mean, what happened this year? Man? Well this look, it's cyclical. You know, things in sports are cyclical. But yeah, the East is a little better this year. I gotta admit. Look, this is not Sounder related, but messy versus LAFC. LAFC defending Champs Miami lasts in the East. Of course that's pre pre messy. But they smoked them three nothing in in La on Sunday. So yeah, the East is East is

good. Well, a lot of times draws feel like winds. I'm just in assuming that this draw didn't feel like a wind, didn't feel like a lost to you. Yeah, they it looks dick. You know me by now, all all draws are like a loss or kissing your sister. Uh, it's it's you know, it's super frustrating because we had the game firmly

in control. Uh you know, I thought, I thought we're going to close the game out and then you know, the yellow card happens, The second yellow card happens, and momentum switches, and you know it's unfortunate, but yeah, we we certainly gave two points a win. Yeah. Well,

let's go back and talk about the situation with Leo Chow. Okay, So Leo Chu scores a second goal of the day or the second goal of the day, takes his shirt off, knows he's going to get a yellow card, and then gets the second yellow card in the second half and gets ejected. So first of all, let's just talk about the whole sequence and

your thoughts on the way the whole thing went down. Well, the kid was excited, but he should know better, and you know, we had a we had a conversation in front of the entire group after the game. I'm not going to tell you what I said, but there was some strong language used and we settled it, and he's never going to do that again. The problem, the problem with that statement is, you know those two points might cost us at the end of the year. So you know it's

kind of a bone hit play by a young kid. But you know, he was so excited he scored a great goal. I mean the goal was something I've been talking to him about about his defending that turns into transition moments. So the kid was the kid was great. Was there a well, he was great up until the book a second yellow. Was there conversation amongst the coaching staff at halftime to maybe let's say, let's set him down. You know, you got your two goals, you got one from him,

you're up to nothing. Maybe put somebody else in for him so he doesn't potentially get a second yellow. Was that discussed, Yeah, it was. That's a good question, Dick. Look, I know there was a little bit of pushback from some of the fans. Look, I'm pretty conservative. I do trust my players. Uh, right before he was getting his yellow, we were kind of thinking, well, we didn't start the second half too well, so what are we gonna do. Who are we gonna sub

off? But fifty third minute, that's that's that's you know, that's eight minutes into from halftime. I normally not going to make a sub then unless it's really dramatic. Yeah, there's a lot of time left in the match, no doubt. But when you when you went down a man, I guess, Brian, the odds of getting that third goal. I'm sure you're analytic people that you have working for you would tell you that the odds would drop dramatically at that point, right, yeah, yeah, But then gets

Look the guys never quit. I switched Jordan, I put him up front, I brought Niko on. We created some half chances, we did get some possession there half the field. The guys never quit. So that's all I can ask in those situations. What did you think of his second yellow? Because when I saw it, I was like, that's not a foul.

I'm yeah, Dick, I don't complain about MLS referees. Maybe I should, but look, the guy that chew ran into is six foot four and about two oho five, and cho is five foot seven and a buck twenty five. I mean it was it was a one sided affair, So I thought it was a little soft. How about this, instead of you complaining about MLS officials, why don't you just text me what you would want to say, and I'll say at four are you all right? So from now on, any problems at all, you let me know and I will

repeat yours through you through me on the air. Brian Schmitzer with us on the air. So you got the break. You got a bunch of guys on international duty, including Raoul, Alex Rodan and Knew Who. Well, those guys be back in a couple of weeks. What's kind of the the idea there? You think, Yeah, they'll all be back and available for Dallas. Now, some of the travel coming from you know, knew Who's coming from Cameroon and some of the other travel it'll be it'll be long.

So we'll see. I mean, I might rest them, you know, bring him on his subs. You know, it's the group that's staying here. We've got a good group. We'll train them well. So we'll just have to see what shape they're in when they come back, and obviously how much they've played in their respective games in these windows. And then Christian went to Denver, to get his concussion checked on. Do you have any results from that? And well we see him in the next game. Yeah,

it was actually Detroit. It's a lot of medical mumbo jumbo that I can't say on air because of the hippo laws, but there was some positive news. The doctor didn't think that it was a you know, another concussion. It's still symptoms from the original one. And you know, he's got some things that he's got to try and work on. They gave him some new treatment options, so I'm hopeful. Yeah, all right, Well, what do you got planned for the break? What do you want to do?

What's the plan for the guys? Uh? Well, we get him three days off. They needed a little bit of a mental break. That three tough games, you know, the game in Minnesota, you know, the goodwin in Austin, and then home to Portland. It was tough. So they got three days off. We're bringing him in tomorrow and you know, we'll love a lighter day tomorrow, but then the remainder of the week,

we're going to push him hard. We got to make it seem like there was a game on the weekend to keep everybody sharp, gotcha, all right? Man? Great? Stuff pretty shaate this and we'll talk in a week. Actually, we will not talk in a week. We'll talk in two weeks. So rest up and we'll talk then. All right, thanks coach, all right, take care of you guys, hi, and we'll get

those MIC's fixed. By the way, I was going to ask him if he was flying from Atlanta to Barcelona, but he wouldn't know what the hell we're talking about. Jackson can fill him in. Get those mics fix for god's sakes, man, are you kidding me?
