All right, Sounders fans, we are back for this week's edition of the Sounders FC podcast. Jackson Feltz, myself. And Keeley Dunning. And let's get into it. So, obviously, we're in a good mood. We're in a good mood. Finally, we're in a good mood. This Sounders team wins on the road against FC Dallas in what was...
A pretty back and forth game, I thought. But overall, this was a mixed group for the Sounders. But I want to get your thoughts jumping into this one. Yeah, that first half was good. First half is, I think, where we can take the most from this game.
Second half, Dallas played without Moose in the second half. I mean, and so much of what they do runs through him. Three goals, three assists. Losing him right at the brink of halftime was sort of just... changed everything that they wanted to do so obviously second half is so different but like that first half
We can take a lot of things. Pedro de la Vega, man. Oh, my gosh. I mean, now that he is healthy. Yes, he's going to be continued to be on a minutes limit. But like seeing that first 45 minutes where. I don't know about you, but I get it. Acosta was on the field for Dallas. I thought De La Vega was the best player on the field. And so much of what he did, the energy, the speed, the power, I mean.
We were cooking, I think, in that first 45 minutes, and he was a big reason why. And overall, I mean, clean sheet, that gives confidence for the defense. Yes, we can talk about Reagan, but like... overall i think i think this was the best case scenario coming out of you know what we'd seen the previous two weeks and a one one and one three game road trip brad i mean like
Listen, I know the players. I mean, Obed said a couple of days ago he wouldn't have taken that. But like as a fan, you told me one on one on one dealing with all the injuries we were. Yeah, I'm happy with that. Yeah. And I think for the Sounders team, it's more of a moral victory than anything. We just. I got an opportunity to talk to Schmitz, kind of give us a preview of this next weekend's lineup, what it's going to look like. We'll get into that. But he said it was an emotional.
which you need that. You have to play with emotion. And I'm sure that the guys felt that suitcase. come off their back in that game. That's the best feeling, especially to do it away from home. That gives you confidence moving forward because if you're going to be a top four finisher at the end of the day, you have to win games on the road. Ziggy always said, Things may have changed a little bit, but it was always you need a point and a half per game to be in the playoffs at least.
And so if you're going to progress past that, you have to win games on the road. And you've got to win season series, too. So if you can beat Dallas here, you beat them at home, hopefully. That gives you, obviously, a huge point advantage in that one. But now the Sounders team, I mean, they look really strong in the first half. Like you said, Pedro de la Vega just, he adds something different to the squad. And when he's confident and healthy.
he's going to be a consistent starter for this team. And he's going to put pressure on a lot of guys in this lineup too. And it's going to be, if all are healthy, it's going to be Schmetz's probably biggest task. to date because i think in in years past you've had an aging aging clint um you've had maybe an aging will brew into a certain extent and he's had the
The options have kind of been decided for him. It's easier to sit those guys on the bench and be like, actually, your minutes are going to be this because you're this age. Well, now you've got four or five guys that are, you know. mid late 20s you know some guys are 30 in their prime There's four or five guys fighting for three or four spots. And so the decisions are going to have to be made.
Is everyone going to be healthy at the same time? We know probably not, but they're getting there. So we know that Jordan Morris traveled on this trip, obviously didn't play in the game, so he's practiced all week. You've got Jesus with another game under his belt. I thought he looked a bit more energized in the game. Things didn't fall for him exactly how we would want them to, but he's got another opportunity here at home to make a difference.
We've talked about that on the broadcast many, many times. We want to score that perfect goal. Sometimes, does it work out? Yes. But at the end of the day, to put the ball in the back of the net, you've got to shoot from distance. and you have to take a chance. And you had Obed twice, Christian, and you had Pedro de la Vega. The goal came off of that. And I wonder if it was a conversation where it was like, guys,
If you have daylight within 20, 25 yards, go ahead and have a hit. And let's see what happens. Because watching highlights throughout the week, there's been a lot of deflections. There's been multiple free kicks as well this past weekend. But it's shooting from distance that... It is it's a tactical decision because if a team is going to sit deep and they're going to allow you to shoot from distance at some point, someone in that back line or goalkeeper is going to be saying.
I mean, I remember Casey Keller would scream at us if anybody took a shot from 40 yards. He's running out of his box saying, you have to press. And the shot goes, you know, 15 rows into the stand. But it's that mentality that says you have to push up your lines, but then it opens the opportunity for the Sounders to play how they want to play because the team has to respect the Sounders shooting from distance.
And Nashville is going to come in here away from home and say, we can't just sit back and allow them to pepper our goal because something's going to happen. I like to see that forward progress from the Sounders. If I'm a striker, I'd love to see it because anything can happen. Moose does an amazing job of keeping himself onside and knowing his immediate reaction was.
This may be on frame, it may be off frame, but I'm going to be the guy there to clean it up. And that's what you want to see out of a striker. So the monkey's off his back as well. Hopefully that gives him confidence moving forward, which is huge for the Sounders. And he's dealing with confidence. He's had a great week. He gets the goal. Probably should have had two goals. I mean, why they didn't take an extra look for that second goal in Dallas, I have no idea.
Clearly the VAR official said this doesn't require a second look. Either way. He has the goal. He has the game winner. And then he gets engaged. This guy is playing with a lot of confidence. He's just personally, I talked to him a couple days ago, he has a lot of confidence in his game right now. And it'd be interesting for Brian Schmetzer, KJR a couple days ago, he said, like, if Jordan progresses through the week, he could start against Nashville.
So now, you know, do you reward Mazovsky? Do you start Jordan if he's ready to go? He hasn't gotten any minutes yet. To go back to your kind of point, I mean, I think one of the great questions for Sounder fans right now is how do you fit all the talent on the field?
Because right now, yeah, Pedro right now, we know he's on a minute's limit, but if he started and stayed healthy against Dallas, he's going to start again, right? You have Jesus Ferreira. You have Albert Rusnak working through training. If he's ready to go, you have all these guys. How do you fit?
all this in, do you have to switch out of the 3-4-3 just to fit all the bodies in there? Because, I mean, none of those guys we talked about is a left wing back or a right wing back. Well, how many times have we talked about, we've never said this before, where we could... our ideal formation would almost be like a three three four where you just have the front four just kind of going for it. And it's always been, oh, well, we have a right back who can kind of play right mid, or we have a...
a number six, number eight that can play out wide also in an advanced position. But now we're in a situation where we're talking realistically, like we said, we've got four or five guys that could play high up the field. And the Sounders haven't had that in years past, I don't know.
It's always been, oh, shoot, we look down our bench. Who's going to come on to make a difference? Georgie, Paul, Albert. I mean, you can slide Christian up. You've got Moose now putting the ball in the back of the net. You've got Jordan. You've got Pedro de la Vega. You've got Ryan Kent now. And so we haven't even put him into the fold. Yeah. So. We've got options. I think you're going to see everyone feature this weekend. Now, how it lines up, we'll see what Schmetz decides to do.
but a good opportunity for the Sounders playing against Nashville at home. You mentioned having guys, and that's kind of a perfect jumping-off point. Jackson Reagan, we know, out four to six weeks with the right hamstring. Kim Ki-hee surprised Marcus Hanneman and I on the broadcast. We were kind of saying at the halftime show, we actually said,
Is there any reason it's not Jonathan Bell coming in here? And then it ended up being Kim Keehee. You have some center back depth with those two. If you need further depth, there's Stuart Hawkins. So you have guys, but Kim Kee, he, you know, getting his first, you know, meaningful extended time. I thought he did pretty good. I mean, we haven't seen him obviously in years, but he's doing well over in the K league. And like,
For my money, that time he spent in the second half, yeah, he was a good contributor. Yeah, and it's funny how our tempo of how we're even talking and previewing this game and reviewing the game has changed from the last two weeks. But it looked like a different team. Now, I think the Sounders... After that victory what you kind of run through in your head as a player is Gosh, we really let one slip in San Diego.
If the Sounders had gotten a result in San Diego, we're sitting at 12 points and we're talking about our positioning realistically. So that's always in your head as a player, is you kind of look back and say, let's just not do that again. Let's not do that again. And San Diego goes on and thinks that they're flying high and gets knocked off their perch.
this past weekend. So there's been a lot of movement in the Western Conference. I think results went the Sounders way this past weekend too, which was really good. And now they have an opportunity to kind of take that next step forward. which will be a difficult schedule in kind of home away, home away, and then three games away in a week.
And there are big ones, LAFC, Portland. LAFC, Portland within three days, Houston. And so that's going to be a tough one. You've got to get points now. So previewing Nashville. What are your thoughts going into this one? This is a team in Nashville, I think you mentioned a minute ago, they're not going to sit back. They have a ridiculously high XG for goals this year. I don't know.
As a player. I don't know, dude. Do you care about any of those? No. Don't tell our data team, guys. Yeah, it's just one of those things where I look at it and it's. Any day, any team can score goals in this league. And now I'm watching the game and it tells you that little heat map of who's had the majority of play. It's like, okay. You know, maybe for the, you know, the...
The fan who obviously doesn't know in depth and when they're watching, right, I can watch the game and say I know exactly what's going on at all moments. I know who's had tempo, who's got control of the ball, who most likely is going to score.
But then sometimes I'm watching a game and I think a team has great possession, and then all of a sudden the opposing team puts one in the back of the net off of a free kick or a set piece or whatever it may be, a transition play, a mistake. We've seen a lot of defensive mistakes this year. I don't pay attention to it. I just want to see who's playing well on that day.
When the result comes, the result comes. Well, I mean, obviously, this is a good offensive team in Nashville. BJ Callahan got them playing pretty good right now. Very high highs, very low lows so far for them. And I think it's an element where if you know that they're not teams coming in that you're not there, they're not just going to sit back. And I don't think anybody expects them to just sit back. This could create an open match.
which again goes back to the question of who's on the field for Seattle. Are we looking at guys who can run and get in behind a Nashville team if they decide to get up the field on whether it's either wing or whether they're center back step and you can get in behind him with Jordan? So I think this has the potential to be a open game.
And then it sort of goes to the question for Brian Schmesser of what players will give you the best chance to break Nashville if they decide to, you know, push numbers forward at certain points in whether it's the first or I think early second half. I think at some point, I think by the time we reach, I'll say this, by the time we reach the 60th minute, I think one of these teams scores two goals.
Well, Nashville's been a pretty good scoring team this year. Now they've passed five results. They played Philly, beat Philly in Philly, beat a Montreal side that is atrocious. And then they have two losses in a row, and then they go home and they beat Salt Lake. Salt Lake got off. to a hot start in that one. And Nashville has to settle for a PK in the 91st minute to win that game. So a pretty even game down in Nashville against a Western Conference opponent that the Sounders lost to.
this year early on in the season so it's hard to figure out this Nashville side and they have been hard to figure out the past year and a half two years historically I mean they've been a playoff team and done really well and then To me, they haven't been the team that they once were. And so for the Sounders, it's a great opportunity to knock them down a peg. Just a little bit. But they do have a reigning MVP in Hani Mukhtar, who on any day can be the best player on the field, no doubt.
And then you've got Surridge up top, who's just that big body. and always seems to manage a way to put the ball in the back of the net. A little bit like Dallas, I mean, in that sense. Yeah, Moussa and then Acosta, yeah, that pairing. Exactly. So, I mean, obviously we're not rooting for any injuries. Dallas losing Moussa changed the entire dynamic. But the way we defend it against Acosta, I think.
That was very, very good. I mean, Brian talked about it too in our production meeting, how we just need him to play negative, keep possession, keep the ball out of his foot. And Acosta still had moments where he got up the field and tried to create things. But I think the defensive midfield did a good job of collapsing it on him, you know, making him play uncomfortable. And you can do that the same thing on Mukhtar.
I mean, what was it? We were in Nashville two years ago. And the way that we defended him, I think, and then he tried to kind of, you know, okay, well, if I can't go through the middle, I'm going to bounce out wide. And then there's Reed Baker Whiting, who's right there on him the entire game. The way we defended Mukhtar on that night.
was so impressive. If we can do that again and make him uncomfortable like we made Acosta uncomfortable, I think we're going to have a good day. But it's up to the Sounders now. You're playing at home, afternoon game, 4.30 kickoff. So that always adds a little something. I prefer night games, obviously. But it is an opportunity for the Sounders to just progress off of an FC Dallas win. And it should be a great day at the office.
I'm interested to see if there's potential lineup changes, what Schmetz decides to do, because it is a congested schedule coming up here. So do some of the guys coming back into the fold, sit on the bench, watch for a little bit, and then... If it's a lineup like Dallas, you really realistically have five guys. You kind of know who those five subs would be that come off the bench that are realistically starters for this group.
Guys got to get their legs underneath them, coming off some nagging injuries with Albert and Alex. They've trained full this week. You've got Jordan. You've got Ryan Kent. You've got Georgie. I mean, they're loaded offensively, loaded offensively. So and that's why when I look at a lot of the rankings, still the Sounders are still like in the mix, regardless of their results, because I think everyone knows the potential of the team. And that's why we go back to XG, whatever it is.
Yes, there's potential by the numbers. Now it's about execution. And so just getting the job done. And I don't think that this game needs to be beautiful. I think it's more important. to get two or three in the back of the net, however that may be. And then you get confidence. OK, we can put the ball in the back of the net. Now let's play our game. And then you go away from home next week again.
Colorado? Yeah. Yes. Against a good Colorado side who's been good at home. I mean, look at last year, right, where we really started getting going around this time of the year. There was a road win at Philadelphia, 3-2, the one where Raul hits the 45-yard banger. And then from there, we kind of start rolling, right? And I'm not saying that like that Dallas wins, you know, you know, be a one to one to Philadelphia last year.
But I just kind of look at the ability of this team to, like, as the weather turns, so does the team. And getting the offensive guys healthy, I mean. Ryan camp being available now after getting his visa, it just feels like, all right, the potential is here to keep this thing rolling, but it's momentum, right? Momentum is such an important thing in sports and you just can't lose it right now. Yeah.
I just love the turnaround and the tone from the group. I know that Schmetz lit him up after the game, talking kind of with some insiders. And so I know that he lit him up after that game. Proof is in the pudding when you come out and get a result away from home, and you get to sing Jingle Bells, which is ultimately the most fun thing to do on the road. So Sounders with a good result in Dallas, facing Nashville, Tacoma Defiance. yes advancing again uh with a
Pretty intense game down at Starfire once again. Starfire continues to be the venue of choice even for a second team of the Sounders. So a good result for Defiance. Did you watch the game? I did. A 108-minute winner. Peter Kingston. Can we talk about Peter Kingston for a second? Yeah, that free kick was unreal. I don't know if it gave you flashbacks, because for me, I'm a Ballard FC fan. He hit... almost the exact same spot. Free kick winner to win the USL2 championship two years ago.
It was crazy because I think Ballard even posted the look. Side by side. Side by side. where it is the exact same free kick. He scores both of them, wants to win the USL2 title, the other ones to get the first goal in that game against Oakland. I mean, that was incredible by Kingston. He is a very good player. And I think I know he's young, but I think this guy has first team potential. Yeah, I think so, too. And he's. He's a bit of a journeyman, right? He's a UW kid.
Kind of bounces around, goes down, then goes to Ballard, and now has found his way with Tacoma Defiance. And if he can get consistent minutes, and if he can advance this team even further through this tournament. Whether or not, I mean, the Sounders will obviously be looking at him first choice, but there's got to be other teams that are saying, hey.
If it's a USL type player, he could be the best player in USL and get a good contract and make a good living. So he's done everything right. And you can just tell his passion for the game is massive. And that's what you have to have. He's looking to level up, right? And those guys that have kind of been up and down and up and down.
been through an academy system, whatever it is, and now he's kind of finding his place with defiance is really good for the Sounders. And now what defiance have next in the U.S. Open Cup. It's Portland Starfire, either May 6th or May 7th. Yeah, May 6th or May 7th. We don't know time or date, but they did the draw this morning, and we are playing Portland Timbers. First team. Pack that place out. Pack that place out. If that's a full stadium, it's going to be rocking.
Not too fond of memories of Portland Timbers playing at Starfire, but maybe a chance to right the ship against a Portland team. If you're the Portland Timbers, Do you say in any circumstance, round of 32, we're not playing a lot of first team guys? U.S. Open Cup round of 32, nobody does in it from MLS, right? But considering that they don't want to get upset by Tacoma here in Tukwila,
I mean, do you, if you're the Pearl and Timbers, say, screw it, we're going to throw in a bunch of first-team guys because we don't want to get cup set here in Tacoma? I don't think so. I think, realistically, these teams are... They're given an opportunity to showcase themselves, and I think it would be a slap in the face to say, oh, actually, we're going to put guys in, and they're going to take the reins.
now just because they don't want to be embarrassed it's a morale it's a morale killer at the end of the day like these teams have done the work they've done the job let them go out and prove whether or not they need to be there or not
And it'll give the Portland Timbers a good measuring stick of where their academy's at and the Sounders as well. So it couldn't have lined up any better. And that'll be a rock and one. Let's go beat them. Come on, Tacoma. That'll be a rock and one. Champions League. Paris Saint-Germain, I mean, probably the best team in the world. Yeah. Probably the best team in the world. And now they've advanced, you know. It's been, I mean, they lose the game ultimately to Aston Villa, but they advance.
But a team that I don't think has lost the game this year in league play, they're just absolutely insane. And to be able to... Even wrap your head around being able to watch them play here. It's obviously the biggest draw. Someone asked me the other day, so the city of Renton is doing a huge push for World Cup because that light rail is going to take you straight into the stadium from the city of Renton. It's going to open later this year.
So they're doing a big push, kind of getting their feet dipped in of what does it look like, watch parties at Marymoor, whatever it may be. And she asked, okay, well, can you break down the three teams for me? Just as simple as possible. And so Botafogo, massive in Brazil. They have the world's imprint. And I'll tell a little story. I went to Brazil when I was 13 with a group. And we were there for two weeks, played a ton of games, and was my first time going overseas.
That's where I fell in love with soccer was in Brazil because I saw what it meant to every single kid being there. Afterwards, gave kids my extra socks. And just to see the look on their face was like, I got a pair of socks. Yeah, just a massive impact. Taught me how to love soccer. But we went shopping one day and I got a pair of shorts and they were Botafogo shorts.
So I was 13, but I wore them all the way through college as boxers after that point. And they were like my good luck boxer in playing all my games. And it just brought me so much joy. Obviously, I grew them. But to see them come in, and so they are a massive, massive team in Brazil. Now, throughout the world, you're going to have sprinkles of it. And here in Seattle, you're going to have some fans.
but not the biggest team in the world. And then you look at Atletico Madrid, and that's more of your hardworking, hard-nosed Diego Simeone, that type of player he was. and the coach that he is, they're an incredible team. So organized defensively. They're an incredible team, and they've done well in Champions League and in their league, but obviously Real Madrid and Barcelona always take the cake when you're talking about Spain, and they get a little bit left behind, but on any day.
No one wants to play them. But not the biggest throughout the world, right? They have a big imprint, bigger than Botafogo, but not as big. And then you look at PSG, and what I said was,
That is almost like the world's team, and whether it's because of sponsorships, the type of player they have on the team, because they're so consistently victorious. They've had Messi for a number – they had Messi for a period of time. They had – Beckham was there for a little bit, I think. And so Mbappe is there. And so –
that is almost like the world team. If you walk around Seattle, you're going to see PSG jerseys. If you go to South America, you're going to see PSG. If you go to Asia, you're going to see PSG. For those other teams, not necessarily the case. So that is the team that's coming in. They are insane right now. And I would, it's going to be wild. Now, will they play a full strength lineup? Most likely not, but.
If you're talking about one of the best teams in the world, maybe the best, even if it's their second team sprinkled in with first team guys. Now, I don't know what FIFA said. If FIFA is saying, no, you need to play. This is a tournament where you have to play your first teamers.
This is interesting because I think there's a lot of interesting dynamics here. We know two teams go through in this group of four, right? And I think that goal differential is going to play a big role in this. Obviously, when we look at those, the PSG, correct me if I'm wrong, is the third game.
So we could be looking at that third game where Madrid's going in, and if Madrid beats Botafogo by X number of goals, PSG says, oh, we need X number of goals to beat Seattle to get first place in the group. We need to put our guys out there. I mean, listen, as a Sounder fan, let me say this. As a soccer fan, I am so massively excited to watch the potential of that. As a Sounder fan.
It's going to be... Shaking in your boots a little bit? Just a little bit. But yeah, because you're right. I mean, listen, they are probably the best team in the world right now. And if they have to win by X number of goals to get first in the group and we do see their full first team come out there and they say we're coming for blood. Yeah, that's.
I'm going to have two minds about me. If you're thinking PSG, it could be the difference between another group playing Real Madrid in the next round, getting second place, who knows what happens, or a team that... that somehow gets first place and maybe like a Fluminense or something like that, a Brazilian team where they feel like they have a better chance maybe. So, yeah, it's going to be interesting to see how this one shakes out. But watching them advance.
But credit to Aston Villa. They've been absolutely insane this year. I don't know if anyone really expected it, but they've been incredible. And it was tough to see them crash out of Champions League. Really no match for Paris Saint-Germain. So... Moving on, we had a couple of community outreach events. There's a huge field trip coming in here to the Sounders facility where a bunch of kids will be coming in, I think.
130 kids maybe the whole atrium is set up and they're gonna tour and they're gonna really get a feel for what it's like to be a sounder be in this facility watch training Get a whole entire tour. They're here for like three hours. So that's really cool. And that's why you build the space.
is to allow yourself opportunities like that. And we love community. So bringing all those kids out. I mean, when I was a kid, my dad took me to... the uh Dallas Cowboys stadium at the time oh wow and I got to tour and I got Emmett Smith was like my my idol at the time and so I got to stand in Emmett Smith's locker and get a photo
And so for some of these kids, that's the impact, right? They might have a favorite player on the Sounders. Every time we do community events, there's Sounders kits in and around the community. And so to be able to walk into a locker room, stand in, take a photo. It's so impactful at the end of the day because who knows the next.
sounder or or rain player right uh could could be in this building well dude going off your brazil story right like i know it's not going to brazil but it is a memory as a kid that you experienced that grew your love of the game What kid, maybe just a soccer fan and be good at the game, whatever, who walks into this building and experiences and has a moment like that where they say, this is what I want to do with my life. Maybe a click.
Maybe it clicks. I mean, my teachers laughed at me. Every report I did was, I want to be a professional soccer player from third grade. We went to Larchmont this week, Larchmont Elementary down in Tacoma, where we've had a field there for over two years now. So just revisited that school, did recess with...
three different classes and it was about a 30 minute soccer clinic down there. And it was, I mean, these kids afterwards, every single kid, are you going to be here tomorrow? Are you going to be here tomorrow? Just the impact. And it just fills you with. This is why we do it. Right. That's that's why we're out there is to do it. And explaining the rules, I think, is the most important thing, because I think at some of these mini pitches.
There's 10v10 and kids don't know what to do. So we actually brought a little, a very simple rule layout. Teams of five. This is how it's played all throughout the world. And when I went to Brazil, that was the biggest thing. I didn't know futsal. But it was 5v5 on a small court. Ball goes out of bounds. It's a kick in. Little things like that that I think.
It's all about developing skills and a little bit of ownership on the kids to do it, which is the most important thing. Yes, teachers are there to supervise, but let the kids kind of rule that pitch.
and let them decide so that was super fun and more community events coming up a ton of rave pitches will be opening this year so look out for that uh sounders broadcast info for this weekend yep we're on 93.3 fm for english radio danny jackson and pete fewing on the call and jackson felt and kellen rowe will be on pre-half and post
Really, really good crew there. And then we are also on MLS Season Pass and Apple TV+. The difference there is if you have Apple TV, but you do not have MLS Season Plus, we are free to watch. So we're definitely... Clearly, Apple TV thinks this is going to be a big match. We're out there. It's a good time slot for TV. It's pretty accessible for everyone to watch, which is good. I'm going to go 3-2 win. I think it's the exciting back-and-forth game. Nashville isn't here to come and defend.
And I think, let me just, because I'm ridiculous. Ryan Kent, in his first 15 minutes on the field, scores the winner for Seattle in the 83rd minute. Wow. Someone must have had a dream. I tell you what, we were watching. You write that in your dream book? I tell you what, this is inspired. Wait, Jackson, do you have a dream journal? No. I should, you know, amount of dreams that I have. But listen.
We were watching him out of training, and he's hitting these left-footed shots from like 15, 18 yards out. It's like Johnny Russell used to do against us so many times. He has this left-footed shot where he can hit it into the upper right corner or whatever corner, and it's such a weapon. And I haven't seen that weapon on a left-footed player force in a long time. And Nico-esque in some ways.
this is a guy where when he is on the field and when he's healthy and obviously hasn't played in a while, this is going to be a difference maker for this team. Yeah, I'm excited to see him play. I don't know if he'll shade off to the right and want to cut inside or if he's going to be an out-and-out left winger. Is he more of a Marco Papa type, good with his feet, but bigger and stronger? But Marco had a sweet left foot as well.
Yeah, it's going to be interesting to see how he fits into the fold. He's got his visa. He's ready to go. And so the Sounders fans should be excited. Pretty much a full. I mean, we'll see what Schmitz does. It's a full arsenal to choose from, though, which is going to be interesting. So Sounders versus Nashville this weekend, and we will review and preview Colorado.
Next week. We've got some over-unders for the Nashville game, which Jackson was a great segue with your prediction. Thank you to Jordan Thompson for putting these together, our awesome broadcast assistant. Her first one is yellow cards, 6.5 over under 6.5 yellow cards. Last week, Seattle versus Dallas had six and Nashville versus RSL had seven. So is this going to be a card heavy game or not so much?
I'm going to go under in this one. I think it's going to be a free flowing game. I don't think it's going to be too much stop start. I'll take the under here. I'm trying to look up quickly who the referee is, but I would also go under just in general. As long as it isn't a referee who loves giving cards like we had this last week in Dallas, I'll take the under. Do you, well, you know what, actually, I mean, it's obviously you prefer a referee who just lets the game.
go right to a certain extent if there's a guy on the field um consistently fouling i want him to have some ownership so it depends but yes more free-flowing i don't want him to call tacky fouls Straight off the bat. Give us 15, 20 minutes to figure out how this game is going to go. Something egregious? Yeah, step in. But Ozzy was always infamous for the first five minutes smashing something.
And if you're going to do it, if you're going to do it, you have to do it early. And you can't wait until it's a retaliation too. So there's a lot of, you know, little games within the game. All right. Next over under goals, total goals over under 1.5. Please do the over. Please both of you guys do the over. I'm taking the over. Yeah.
Yeah, and Jordan also said they better say over for goals. I need a multi-goal game from the boys, and I think that we all agree. Please no, nil-nil. We'll take a 1-nil win, obviously, but let's go over 1.5. Last over under possession, over under 55.5. Average has been 55.25 this season. Yeah, I think Schmetz would want that number higher at the end of the day, especially at home. And it's an opportunity to...
to kind of right the ship in that point. I'll take the over. I'll take the over here. Yeah, I'm... This is tough. I'm gonna go...
Over but maybe just barely by the way referee is Ricardo Fierro, so I don't know too much about that, but I'll go I'll go over but barely again. This is gonna be I think a back-and-forth game where up seeing at the end of the first half possession being near equal just because I think chances are going to be a bound for both sides yep and then that was over under and then reminder call in 860-415-3710 and you can ask your questions directly to
