Bert Joy also came up with anleigh simdie- appears to be better in South America. Zach Awani! Everett's with the left foot! He's an attacking threat, Brad Eman. It really is so weird. The party has started. Alright, what's up everyone. Welcome to the Sounders FC podcast presented by Toyota. The Sounders will be an action back in MLS action after this long break. Kind of a break, MLS break. There's still been other compositions.
But, locking homes with Minnesota United, who had a decent start to the season and then kind of fell off and Keelie, you'll give me the stats on this, but I don't, I think the record against the Sounders, I mean, it's pretty thumb in it. From the Sounders, two Minnesota, like I think it's a team that seemed to always be. In the table, there are four points behind the Sounders, you know, kind of in that ninth spot. I think nine is the cut off of player's sound even though we're the run-in.
But yeah, nine. So they're holding on. So it's a big game for them back at home as well. So it'll be a must win from Minnesota, I think in terms of them, or men's term, and just trying to get over that psychological edge for the Sounders. And then, quick turnaround, open cup, midweek, Sounders at home and home being starfire against L.A.F.C. I'm a team that we've seen a couple of times in the last six weeks and it hasn't gone well. So would you want their resorted Sounders?
But first, I have the record for Minnesota. Yeah. Just before we move on, this is how crazy dominant Seattle is 11, 1 and 2 in the regular season against Minnesota, 13, 1 and 2 in all competitions. You don't see that. Oh my gosh, it was in 2021. Yeah, you don't see that in a list. Like when you play a team that often to be that dominant, I mean, maybe back in the day, Cheeves. Cheeves. Yeah, that's the only thing. I mean, it's not even a Cheeves. They're not, you know, decent team.
That's the thing. So I don't know if anybody's that dominant against anyone else. I wonder if it goes back to USL days, a bit of an interesting one to pick up. USL days, even any SL days, I think, right? Yeah, it's very tough. Both clubs have been around for so long. I wonder what the overall record is. Something we could pick up, probably talk about on air on Saturday. Steve, I wasn't out the game against L.A.F.C.
But just the continuing dominance of L.A.F.C. and what you saw in that game that either didn't change or has changed or what is it? I think when L.A.F.C. came for the MLS game, they had gone to free at the back. I think they'd been playing four, two, three, one, or four, three, three, whichever way. Then Chorundalo went to free at the back to kind of counteract some of what the sounders did. They have a few more numbers in the field. One thing he said, I think that went missing.
His quotes was, I'll change a lot of things, but I'll never change my free upfront. Like we're always in a playing before. And those free forwards, they're so good in transition. Like, they just get out and they're so clean, so clinical. I think I gave the sounders a lot of problems because the sounders know it's a team that's still at home wants to take the game to teams and have the ball. And you can do that against a lot of teams because when you lose it, the danger's not as high.
When you lose it against these guys, they get out. And if they don't, they can keep the ball. At Westop, Sanchez, and they don't even have Tillman right now. He's not been playing. So when it's usually those free, I mean, they're as good at ball retention as anyone I've seen and then bogus, only Vera when he plays, Kai when he's played. And of course, Boyanga, I mean, it's a different level than if Adi Giroux.
I think if a team that just matches up well against the sounders, the tweaks have to come from the sounders side. LFC, no, I have to play against the sounders. The sounders got to figure out how to play against LFC. They don't care if you have the ball. They don't want possession. This is not Bob Bradley's LFC. Jorundolo has been clear. He can have 45, 40% and he's fine. Just give me five or six transitions a half. And at some point, I'll hurt you.
What disappointed with the sounders in this last, at least Cup game, we came quite with one ball of it, top, like one ball. And that was everyone, the back line. Adi, it's been a long time, it's nothing a very good defensive team. Get beat with that, they're doing, I think in the first half at the end, one gets in behind, hits the post. Then it comes a second half and he gets the same chance again and this time he scores and it's like, make it hard for them.
And I don't know what the back line is doing when we're attacking because that's when you've got to be more still opt in. And it's tough to critique the sounders back line. We've actually been the bright spot for two seasons plus very good defensively. But NST was not doing anything special. It was one ball over the top, hitting the channels and guys were running and just getting in behind and sounders were at sixes and seven, scrambling. That was tough to watch.
I think the adjustment's gonna have to come from Seattle. You cannot play this team way where we're gonna dominate possession and try and break you down. You're falling into the trap. I think you've got to be a bit more direct too. Maybe some person will change it in that sense. But if you're gonna be in some possession, you have to be locked in defensively because the moment you lose it, I've not seen a team that dangerous in transition and endless. It's insane. It's insane. Every time.
So that was my thoughts on it. And I think the sounders just have to adjust, man. I think you have to adjust because I don't know. I don't know if it's a personal thing in terms of you go trying to match up a bit more. So maybe you lean more to a guy like Leo True who can maybe give you in behind Fred, but he's not been good when he's played. Jordan up to, I don't know, man. It's just. Well, look, I think it's simple math. And then stuff has come in as well. Yeah, go ahead.
And so two fold to this. Let's say MLS play Big Field or Leaks Cup, right? You have to switch up something because if they come with the same lineup, if I'm Jordan, I'm going up against three every time I have the ball. And Jordan's not a hold up striker, right? Yes, if you have a Jiru up top or Kai Kamara, yeah, yes, I can ping the ball up. He's going to get the ball on his chest. He's going to knock it back to Bruce Neck and then comes the up back and through.
That's not the way that the founders play. So it's pretty simple math to me. Jordan needs help. So it has to be a formation change. Yeah, we want to stick with the 4, 2, 3, 1. But at some point, if you just match up 4, 3, 3, or switch up the formation a little bit where we have just JP sitting and push too higher and push Albert up a line to play underneath Jordan, or whatever it may be.
But there has to be some sort of formation tweak against the scene because it just seems like deja vu over and over. I'm watching in the airport. So my flight got delayed. And on the plane, and I'm thinking, I just watched this game two weeks ago. Crazy. The same exact game where new who's screaming for the ball, he gets it, has no options. Throws his hands up.
Doesn't know really what to do with it because it's too overloaded in the midfield for the founders to be able to play the way that they want to play. Exactly. And our centerbacks aren't the centerbacks that are going to ping a ball, you know, 70 yards and switch the point of attack. It just doesn't happen that often. We really want to play out of the back. And I think that plays right, like you said, into L.A.F.C.'s hands. Just make one mistake.
And we're going to sit high and we're going to punish you. And they do it perfectly because they allow Jackson to bring the ball forward, or they allow Ye mart to bring the ball forward, go ahead, go ahead. And then all of a sudden, they just swarm and clog it and then off they go. Yeah. I think it's as simple. Next time as a formation change. Would you just can't be? Would you do that with the matchup coming up on Wednesday?
Or would that starfire play in your mind way, so a bit of faster game, a bit more unpredictable pitch? Well, I don't know. We saw who was at Louisville that came in here, right? And they played three, five in the back, three going forward and then five sitting back. And the founders were able to cause them a little bit of trouble. But this is a different L.A.F.C. team. It's really hard to play five in the back on that field and be successful. And it causes more turnovers than it does possession.
So that's a tough one. These guys have their hands full coming into this. This is a must win game for the founders because L.A.F.C. is can win, I think, like four titles right now in the end. Not for four. They're going for four, right? And they'll go for four. They don't care. They'll run these guys into the ground. And for some reason, none of their players seem to be tired. And we have eight games left in the season.
They look like they're playing, you know, seven, eight games into the season where they're just absolutely flying on every play. So yeah, it's going to be an interesting one. I don't know if you feature a Pedro De La Vega in this one on that tight field to cause a little bit more possession, a little bit more power on that left hand side and place a Paul Rothrock. And maybe that unlocks Jordan a little bit.
Or maybe you go a two up top and put Musovsky and Jordan up top and play more like a four, four, two. And really just try to get out of them. Use the wide channels, get service. You got two runners in the box every time. You get them all wide. You have to utilize that at Starfire. And the sounders have been successful on a four, four, two at Starfire in years past. I think only until the last three or four years it's been a four, two, three, one. So yeah, it's going to be an interesting one.
It's going to be, yeah, I think, I think numbers is for sure. You got to win the numbers game, get more numbers into the tag, support Jordan. I agree with that. Starfire will be interesting because I don't think the sounders have to play LFC where it's a sounders game. We're going to keep the ball and try to break you down and defend the transition. Sounders are not bad in transition when they have to be, but it'll go in a bit more direct.
We actually began to have a bit more success when they began to make it up. It wasn't just build up the back. It was build up the back when you can. But let's also hit the channels. Are you guys, I mean, Alex, Christian, Jordan, you know, if Lil Chou can run if he, I mean, he's a tough one for me at this point. I mean, I actually don't stick with the rough rock. I think rough rock actually gives you a lot. I mean, he just works. I mean, I thought actually in that first half, he tried.
You might not always get the one V1 ability when you get in my isolated, but he's going to try to make things happen. You know, really, I think maybe see some time in Starfire game because it did really well down in Sacramento. I think it was went down there earlier. And I think like maybe pitch, maybe suit him a bit as well. So it'll be a great one because LFC, they've not seen Starfire. I think that's always a shock for everybody. But this is a team.
I think that lost to a fantastic Columbus crew team at MS Cup last year and went away in the off season and came back hungry. They know how good they are. One thing I said about them is they're plug and play. That's not who's in. I mean, they put guys on a bench for weeks and he comes in. He looks like he hasn't missed a step. Whoever starts just knows their role. Aaron Long was playing for a long time. He's coming. He knows exactly what he has to do.
They're very clear on what Jorundalore wants for each position, each role. There's an untouchables on the team. Of course, they've got a World Cup winning goalkeeper back there. I think so. Yeah. And then they've got, you know, Boang, I think he is. I've not seen many wingers that came in to see you are that dangerous, lad. That he's just always was like he's going to score. So that'll be a tough one. But what's that for that one? That's maybe a good one. That'll be midweek.
Before that, it's Minnesota. Do you approach a Minnesota game with LFC mind or do you just take each of them as an individual game? Well, you have no choice at this point in the season. There's eight lead games left. You can't just say, oh, we're going to go for the open cup right now. I don't think I don't think you can mentally tell this team to, you know, we're going to take it easy against Minnesota and think that we're just going to automatically then get a result against LFC.
I think this is a Sounders team that plays best when they're confident. And they get consistent run of results under their belt. So I say, go after it in Minnesota. And then you know that you're coming home to Starfire. And there's got to be a little bit something with these with the Sounders players right now to get this LFC team off their back. Because right now, the Sounders are sitting in that front pocket of their backpack of LFC and they're just kind of toying with them.
And it is a different level. It's LFC and Columbus crew again in a final. It's not coincidence. It's because these teams are at different level, the way that they attack, the way that they put the ball in the back of the net and how dynamic they are and the way that they play. So it is a different level. And I think, you know, a Paul Rothrock, I think you're seeing a different tier of MLS based on how Paul Rothrock kind of does. Right?
I think Paul Rothrock does really well against the bottom middle third of this league. But when it comes to that next level, the next savviness, the teams that are consistently in championship positions, he still needs to refine that. Right? Yes. But you know, watching that, I don't think he had the best game against LFC. There's still a little bit something missing there when it comes to that next level.
And but they'll have an opportunity, maybe at Starfire to put that one to bed and get after it. And against Minnesota, potentially as well. We'll see, maybe De La Vegas starts this game. We don't know quite yet. So I think this is a Minnesota team that can be beaten. They haven't played and I think 20, by the time game time comes, it's 24 days. The last time they played was Taluca back in July, I think. Yep. And so there's something to be said. And the Caxa, yeah, and the Jumbo.
Oh, the Caxa, that's right. And so there's something to be said about, maybe they've gotten healthy, but we all like to play games, whether it's every seven days or every four days, it's better than training every single day. So we'll see what Minnesota brings. And it's a team that we pretty much demolished in Leaks Cup. And they haven't had a good run of form, to be honest. I mean, they've beaten San Jose earthquakes on July 20th. And the last win for them before that was June 1st.
Yeah, it's 1 in 10. Their past 10 MLS games, only in one win and it's that San Jose won, not to pile on to Minnesota. So it's the local past this game or anything, but yeah. Yeah, but there's the opportunity, right? And the mindset has to be, how many times have Kansas City came in here? What, last year or two years ago, O in 10 to start a season, they beat the founders at home. Sounders have gone away to multiple teams where they haven't been in good form. So yes, it's an opportunity.
But at the end of the day, it's gonna be a battle against Minnesota, who's gonna be grittier. Was that, can you think back in your career, was there ever a team that, any team you were on, even college, wherever, you just couldn't be, you just couldn't be, I only think, the only team ever was, I don't think I was like, eight or nine, like Sunday, when it was a team, we could not be. I don't think I have experienced that when it's sounders.
Maybe I'm trying to think, I mean, you can say, Galaxy had a numbock with someone's, but we beat them as well. I mean, they might win the game, but I don't think they were all with them. That's the only team I could really think of was, really the Galaxy. We were down to them, they even beat them. So yeah, yeah. But that team, I think, had our number over the course of, we're wondering about, what they won on. And yeah, yeah.
Salt Lake away from home, was that was always a bug of boo, but we always seemed to beat them at home. Yeah. Yeah. I don't really think there's been another team like this, where, you know, the only other one is the rivalry against Portland, where you just can't win at home. That's crazy. Your way team seems to win every single time, which is what you saw bizarre. So there's a lot of storylines, and we love to follow on.
And hopefully we'll see the sounders show up and get a job done away from home. That's gonna be, it's gonna be a big one for the group. But the sound, but LAFC already transferring Christian Oliveira to Mexico League side, which is crazy already. Agreed. But what for 26 games is played? That's what they do.
No, I was gonna say that because what for getting that, I think last time I checked, the Golden Boot leader is around Goa Salt Lake, he was the LAFC and he was back in in goals, like for fun, and they got rid of him just like that. Yeah, people for getting lost. It's like they're building up a war chest to create the most dominant team that, that Emma less has ever seen. They say we can't, we can't have one team win every single competition.
Okay, then we're just gonna sign these guys, sell them for more, and then build up our war chest, and then at some point, every position on that team is gonna be the best player. It's gonna be a best 11 player. He's insane because even one of Columbus's biggest weapons is Diego Rossi, but he made his name at LAFC. Like he was one of that, so they've done that, and then they've moved on from Carlos Vela just as if he was ever then. He was the best 10 league for years ago.
So yeah, it's impressive. So whatever they're doing, who goes, who comes, I don't think it matters. I think they need a certain baseline of quality, but everyone just seems to know what they're doing. And I think they are the measuring stick in the West right now for the sounders. If you're looking at, we wanna be considered a top team that too, you're going up again. And I think the point on Paul Ruffrock, I think is a good point.
You have to learn to play against the very top teams, because they're a bit more savvy, they're a bit more smart, and Paul will get there without question, but that is not only individually, I think that's a team right now, that's the team you're looking at and saying, how do we match up?
And you, they're going for OpenCarp, LeaksCarp, MLSCarp, Supporter Shield, and getting fours and it'd be tough, but you're thinking of who can really stop them, really, Columbus maybe, maybe Miami, when they get fully healthy, and there's not many teams that you put in a one-off game at this point against this LFC team. So for the sounders, if we, where are we at with the sounders?
I feel like we had that nice turn around, in Lake June through most of July, and you know, team was picking up wins and all of that. It didn't honestly do that much for the table, because seventh place, really, I mean, if you're the sounders, you want to still be higher, you want to be a top three team, I think, I'm up in it anyway, I mean, the West, where are we at with the sounders?
Because, you know, Jordan and Albert had a great run, kind of got a lot of things done, but you still have a lot of guys who I think aren't in the best form, you know, Raoul, had a good start to the season, he hasn't really been a factor, as the season's gone on. Alex, I think, was out of favor, came back in favor, I don't think it was his best game against LFC, I really don't think so. New who's been up and down for his level, I think, as well as good as good as a player he is.
There's two, I think a lot of question marks, a lot of guys who maybe aren't firing, where they should be. And we're entering, as you said, eight MLS games left, also, eight nine games in MLS play. Open Cup is a chance for a trophy for the sounders, but this is it, this is what your season's come down to. And someone somewhere, not named Jordan, not named Albert's, gonna have to really hit form and get this team going.
But I'm just curious for you as an overall picture, if you're Schmetz, if you're Andy Rose, if you're Precky, you're on that stuff, Dutra, Freddie, how are you feeling about the team in general? Is the case of, you know, LFC is an anomaly right now, and we're good, or are you frustrated that this one team seems to just have your number? Quite easy to. No, I think if you're a sounders coach, I think you are thinking obviously, LLFC is a different level. And they can't base everything off of LFC.
You really do have to just focus on yourself, because there's always gonna be another tier, unless this team was in, you know, first or second, throughout the course of, you know, of the season. I think you have to be realistic with where you're at, and understand, yes, there's still potential to be unlocked.
But if you look at the fixtures coming up, yes, we go to Portland, then we're home against Kansas City, winnable game, home against San Jose, winnable game, home against Houston, three home games in a row that should be win. Brad, there's one at Columbus on September 7th, that's three scuttle. September 7th, that's right, that's one scuttle game, at Columbus, that's right.
And then, you know, you got Vancouver up in Vancouver, at Colorado, that'll be a tough one towards you, and then home against Portland to close out the season. So there's real opportunity still for this team to move up the table, and we don't know what other teams fixtures are, but I think you just have to be focused on yourself and understand that, you know, three of those teams that you're gonna play right now are above you.
And if you can get results against them, those are all six point games at the end of the day to try and separate yourself. And then everyone else is kind of bottom dwellers at that point should be results. San Jose will be, they're already out of the playoffs, for sure. Yes, yeah, supporting is gonna be out of the playoffs. And so, a real opportunity to take a leap forward. I think Portland's coming into form as of late, I think they're doing okay. They have been good.
Yeah. And you have to play them twice still, and remainer the season, play rivals twice, along with Vancouver. So there's still some tough fixtures, but yeah. I think if you're a fan, you're a bit upset at the transfer portal. No one coming in, no one going out, no real moves being made.
It's kind of like a stalled zone that we're in, and I don't know if, again, maybe the sounders are just waiting, building up their war chest, that make two big signings in the off season, or loans or whatever it may be, the sounders don't often do loans, but we've seen success with other, you know, Navarro in Colorado was alone with an option to buy, and he's, you know, gotten them to where they are in the table with the rapid.
So there's opportunities out there, now it's just what the sounders want to do, but this is the team. Now, this is the team for the remainder of the season, and we have to trust that, you know, the coaching staff can get it done. We have an Ash Mets outright, but I'm sure he's frustrated. I'm sure as a head coach, you look at the teams above you, and you're saying, why are we making moves? Why aren't we doing this doing that?
Just because you have a nice facility doesn't mean teams want to, where players want to come here. They come based on results and how you play. They didn't, you know, Raoul didn't care that you were at Starfire. Right. You know, the big players that have come in the past, Clint didn't care that you were at Starfire, it didn't matter to him, it mattered about what he was getting paid. Yeah. And if you're going to open up the checkbook, that's what motivates players at the end of the day.
Yes, the icing on the cake is a nice training facility and great fans, but at the end of the day, people want to get paid money. Yeah. And if other teams are doing it, I'll go there, right? Yeah, no, I agree. I agree. So two massive games for the sounders coming up here, an MLS winery in terms of, you've got to keep the momentum. We're going to keep your form going. Other teams are picking up points as well.
Guys, manage, you can put yourself as high as you can and see what may come in the playoffs. And I think the one against LFC, I mean, a chance to get to a final, I think. And I think it's bigger than that, because of your opponents. I think you can't run from that. You can't just say, oh, no, you have to care. You have to want to beat them. You can't let a team consistently beat you. And how they beat you twice at home already. All the games have been in Seattle.
We've not had to go there and they've just come in and no problem and been running up the scoreboard. So I think this should be a big personal that game. That game at Starfire, I can't wait. The atmosphere hasn't even imagined how it's going to be. Hopefully the players give us the chance. So the opening game of the season was down there where we lost, right? Exactly. So that's a tough one to open up in the season as well. But close it out.
Like what are the sounders in your mind have to do at Starfire to get a result against LFC? I think you make it a chaotic game. I don't think you make it a game for knockdowns. Yeah, the fans get into it. You go into it. Because again, we know we've seen the ball and track to break them down. And that will always be a problem. When you have the guys that Russ Knight, JPM, and the pitch, that's how they play. So don't even worry about that.
But I think you have to make the, you've got to let LFC know in there. Can you imagine in the first five minutes of a game when Zach Scott would go through someone and they just got everyone a big lift? Okay, I remember with years ago, we played against Galaxy. And I think it was the first play of the game when Zach came from David Beckham. He just came through back like crazy. And the place went nuts. And I don't be like, oh, okay, this is gonna be a game.
Like I remember feeding that way because Zach didn't care. I think you need to send that message. Can you imagine someone just not a foul, not something crazy, but send that message to Blonde early on. I'm just gonna come here and just run, rings around us and at two as the, how much? It looks like he has 20 seconds on the board. Every time he gets the board, he's on day, he looks around, has a cigar. No, send him a message, get into him early.
So I think for me, I'd be riding the guy as up for that. It's like the first tackle, the first head up, be first, everything, get the fans up to cheer about. And then let the football be where it was. We know they're gonna get their chances in transition, but Starfight's different beats to Lumen Field. Starfight is different. We've been very successful there since 2009 and before as well, even in the US sell days. I think you've got to make it about that.
So make it a bit of a Celtic game, win tackles, win knock downs, battle, and then the little parts where you can put your football, yeah, be clinical with that. But if it's gonna be a case of going to try and keep the ball away from them, as Starfight they're gonna be even more, in transition, even more dangerous. Small pitch, play small. Well, I'm gonna let them have much to run into Kai and hold the ball up if he plays.
If he's a rue comes into Starfight, I mean, I think that sign is gonna be under raise. I mean, this guy up until this euros before that. And he was the man, I know Santa Bappie for France. This guy in the record all time, the big Terry on reen goes for France. It's like, these are big players. So you've got to make it a bit scrappy, bit chaotic. I'm just curious what line up to Schmanz's goals are. I think that's gonna be the key.
I think I, for example, for me, it's a game where I'm playing in someone like Greenbacker Whitehead. I mean, that guy, Fist, he's gonna go into tackles. He can give you something a bit offensively. He can come around, he has the lungs, he has the energy. He's got the legs to run all day. I'm looking into a bit of that goes into my thinking as well. The line up that I put out there. I don't know exactly where, Pregnant Ways, I've not talked to Schmanz in a while.
Just in times even just comfortable on being fit and 90 minute fit, 60 minute fit. It's still hard to know at this point because he's been so open enough, the line up. But you've got to think he may be the X-Fact times closer to season. Because if he comes in and is something like what he could have been or what he might have been, that in itself could still feel like a new signing at this. But we just haven't seen him in a long stretch. He's never seen it, you just don't know.
So you'll need that at some point. But I think, yeah, folks, I'm in a sort of, you definitely want to go down, you want to beat them. And I think that's a winnable game, get the points where you can. There'll be some tougher games on the corner. But once that comes and goes, you turn to LFC, you've got to be, I don't think you need a team tough enough coach, you don't think you need anyone to get you going. But you've got that many times, I think that's enough.
You've been coming into Seattle twice in the last month for so six now, I think it is aggregate. That is enough is enough. It's on pride here. This protects our fire. Give the fansign the cheer about. So hopefully, hopefully that's the message, man. Hopefully. Also, I do want to say the reign have a game this weekend. And it's a special occasion for them because they're going to honor one of the game's legends. I think we're in a rise for a Pino. I think that's what it's been called.
So Megan will be back in town in Seattle. I'm pretty sure she probably lives there still, but she'll be at the game. And they're going to honor her, one of the absolute best. But I don't know if you have a Rapino memory or a pinion or not as a player. I remember when the sounders women were a thing back then, and it was Alex Morgan came, Sydney LaRue came. Megan Rapino came. They're like, five. Hope sort of was here, it was like 2012, 2015 times. I remember watching her. She's special.
At her very best, she was an exceptional player. I think the last couple of years, injuries and things like that maybe slowed it down. But I think it's a well deserved honor for someone. I think it's a very special player. Yeah, I mean, you look at her. I mean, she's on the Mount Rushmore with, you know, I'm curious. Did you put on the I'm curious here? Where she eventually will end up in terms of that?
Yeah, I mean, if you look at her impact, I mean, obviously I go to the women's world cup and think of me a ham and Michelle Acres. And, you know, I think Abby Womback, also, probably up there. I mean, hope Solo was incredible, go keepers well. I'm kind of like, yeah, if you're just looking at pure soccer talent, but also if you're looking at the impact that they've had on, you know, whether you agree with it or not, the, you know, the social impact as well. You know, it's to be admired, right?
I agree. And I think if you can do both at the top of your game and do that and still perform, like that's really impressive, no matter what the, the stances. And, you know, she's done a lot to unlock women's sports and get it to the next level. And I think that that first world cup winning team, you know, had a huge impact. And then obviously her run with the, with the women's national team, winning world cups and also just unlocking the door for women's soccer players.
Yeah. It's, it's the jersey that you see everywhere. If it's a women's soccer jersey, it's 99% of the time it's going to say, you know, yeah. And she's going to be talked about on every news station. And in terms of lifting trophies and Olympic gold medals and, you know, doing what she did for, for soccer in Seattle as well. She's at the top of her game and, and she'll be an icon forever. So, yeah, a, a well-deserved jersey retirement. And it'll be a special night to celebrate on Sunday.
Yeah, I think you said it right. I think she's a player and person that forces you to have an opinion. And that's good. Like you have to, you have to have an opinion on her because she's that good. And she was pretty strong in her platform and what she was going to push on and advocate for. So I think I respect her a lot. And I'm, yeah, one of the very best to watch. So, um, sounders, rain fans, make sure to go out there. Two lumen fields on the evening. I think it is the rain seven o'clock.
Yeah, the clock evening. It should be a great night to really be able to be good. Imagine hopefully they cap it up with three points. Okay. So two games coming up. Keeley, have the broadcast for both? Yes. So, um, this weekend we are on 93.3. Effet, you can watch us on FS1. And you can also watch on Apple TV, MLS season pass. But in front of the paywall, it's free. Free to watch this weekend. Open cup stuff. I will send tune in once everything is confirmed. But that will also be on Apple TV.
No, it will be. Yes. Oh, well, yes. Full 11 camera show from the fire sport. Crazy. Okay. The fans are going to turn out. That's for sure. Being out of my ears, guys. This is why my skin is on the floor. Yeah, clearly. Maybe. It's going to be awesome. Yeah, exciting. Good stuff. Okay. It's going to be, yeah. It's going to be awesome. We'll see everyone tomorrow. Whether it's Apple TV or you tune into the radio, or maybe you made the trip down to Minnesota. Sounders against Minnesota United.
And then one stack to wrap will focus on the massive, massive semi-final at home, Starfire, under the lights against L.A.F.C. As always, comment, like, subscribe.
