Welcome to episode number 1 of the solar powered podcast. This is the podcast where we're gonna take a look at your lives, take a look at our lives, and help you find a way to live a little bit more of a solar powered life. Live a life on purpose. Live a life of connection with who you are at your core, at your essence. Live a life from your soul. My name is Ryan Hall of Royal Hearts Coaching, royal hearts coaching dot com. I am a I'm a novelist.
I published a novel back in 2015 called Written in the Stone, available on Amazon dotcom. I have a novel in the can that I am just waiting to get published. I'm a speaker, workshop facilitator, podcaster, clearly, and I'm also a life and relationship coach for Kings.
And what that means is I primarily work with men, but I'm really looking to work with anybody who's looking to level up their lives, level up their careers, level up just who they are to live for a greater purpose just because they can. And that's really what the show is gonna be about. That's really what the solar powered podcast is gonna be about.
It's gonna be about helping people live their life for a greater purpose by getting them deeper connected with their soul, getting you deeper connected with who you are at your core, at your core being, at your essential being. And we're gonna do this in a couple different ways.
First of all, we're gonna have some episodes where it's just gonna be me talking, or it's just gonna be me talking, speaking of, speaking on my experiences, speaking on my struggles in becoming more of a solar powered person myself, but I'm also gonna be featuring some conversations with some incredibly brilliant, successful, and soul centered men and women. Men and women that I consider friends, inspirations, and people who embody what living that solar powered life really means.
Through entrepreneurship, through their, through their art, through storytelling, through through writing, through music, through personal development. Gonna take a special look at men's issues. I've got some really good, got some really cool people I'd love to bring on for that and I will bring on for that. But it's just gonna be some high level conversations about just what it means to live that highly purposeful, highly soulful, solar powered life.
Now for those who don't who have never seen the spelling of the title of this podcast, s o u l dash r, that's done with purpose. The idea for this podcast came to me in a shower a couple weeks ago. It came to me in a shower a couple weeks ago because I I suffered a pretty, significant gut punch in my life early in January. I was let go from a job that I thought honestly was my dream job. It was never a great fit. It was never a great fit, but I wanted it to work so bad.
I wanted it to work so bad because I felt like that was my last chance at really making a success of myself up here in the, in the New York area. This coming April, it'll be 3 years since I moved up here. Sometimes I see sometimes I think it's the greatest thing I've ever done, and other times I think it's the worst mistake I've ever made. But getting back to what happened earlier this year, when I was let go, I was, well, it was a gut punch. It was a total emotional gut punch.
And there were moments that I'm not proud of, but there were moments that I considered taking my own life. In fact, once the initial shock of the, of my termination wore off, I looked at my phone. And on the Metro North, commuter train line, which terminates in Grand Central, by the way, Grand Central in New York City, I looked at the schedule. It was a 3:15 going from White Plains, New York to Grand Central. That was the train that I considered jumping in front of.
But as I was walking to the train station, I it it was almost as if I had I had somebody grab my attention, just kinda shake me a little bit. Looking back on it, I believe that was my soul. I believe that was my soul was like, hey. This this ain't working for you. This ain't working for you. So instead of getting in front of the of that train, I got on it. And I rode into Grand Central and just kinda wandered around Midtown Manhattan for a little while. I needed it.
I needed to get reconnected with that magic of that city. And one of the places where I went was Saint Patrick's Cathedral, which if you're familiar at all with the with the, geography of Midtown Manhattan, Saint Patrick's Cathedral is just a few blocks away from Grand Central. I had not planned on going there. I was just kind of wandering, but that's where I wound up. And I I sat down in one of the pews that they were getting ready to have a service, I believe.
But I sat down in one of the pews and, just started reflecting. I I've never really found myself to be deeply religious at all, but I do I do have a deep spiritual connection. I do have a quite a deep spiritual connection. But while I was there while I was there, meditating, I felt something. Almost like a almost like a an ethereal course correction. Almost like an ethereal course correction.
And on the train back to Stanford, on the train back home, I made a vow to myself that I was going to share my voice on as big a platform as possible, that I was gonna share my voice, my powerful, world changing voice on as big a platform as possible. I didn't know how, but I knew that I had to do it. I knew that I absolutely had to do it. 2 weeks later, I get an email.
I get an email from a guy, a men's coach, who will be a guest on this program, by the way, who also has a podcast, and he invited me on. And when I got done recording that interview, I felt like I was 10 feet tall and bulletproof. I felt so deeply connected with my soul at that point that I knew I was onto something. I also got reconnected with an old friend of mine from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Shout out to Derek Crummy.
But my old friend, who I did not know, was a 10 year radio veteran and who had started his own streaming radio service. I was a guest on his program a couple weeks ago. And getting back to the purpose of this story, this podcast format came to me in a shower. It came to me in a shower meditation as I was just standing there letting the, you know, letting this the water run over me. It hit me like a ton of rocks. This is what I need to be doing.
This is what I need to be doing to share my voice, to connect me with people, to live a solar powered life. And that's why we're here. That is why we're here. That is why we are speaking to each other right now. And when I got in my mind that I wanted to record an episode today, I knew there was one place that I needed to go. I'm speaking to you from the banks of a little of a little pond outside Koskoff, Connecticut called Mill Creek Pond.
There is a well, let's just call it a a coffee shop right off the road here. A coffee shop that you can, you know, throw a dart in any direction and hit 1. I mean, you don't have to it's a Starbucks. Okay? But I used to come to that Starbucks to to write. When I lived in New York, I used to come there to write. But it took me a minute to really realize that this beautiful that this beautiful pond was out here. And I found me a park bench. I found a park bench along the backside of the pond.
There's a nameplate on this park bench. This is apparently in loving memory of a woman named Brenda. This is Brenda's bench. Brenda, I don't know who you were, but thank you for letting me, for letting me use your bench. But sitting by this pond, I have gotten some of the most brilliant writing of my entire career done. Right here, sitting on this park bench, looking at the water, getting harassed by the Canada geese that like to hang out here.
In fact, I'm looking out at the, looking out at the water right now. There's a, what appears to be a seagull floating out in the middle of the water, taking a bath. He's ducking his head under the water, either taking a bath or going after little shad. But I never felt more connected. I never feel as connected with my soul, with my truth, as when I'm next to water. I mean, it stands to reason. I am a Pisces after all. Our blood runs with feelings and water.
Shout out to my Pisces brothers and sisters there. And I knew that I had to be out here. I knew that I had to be out here. Now I've rambled on for a few minutes about myself. What does living a solar powered life actually mean? What does it mean on a deep level? What does it mean to live that solar powered life? Well, there are a few steps that I see to it. There are a few, there are a few steps that I see to it. The first step, the most important step is on most people, it's about 13 inches.
I can hear the cackles right now. Shut up. But on most people, it's like 12 to 13 inches, and that's the and that's the the amount of space that exists between your head, your mind, and your heart. Because that connection, that head heart connection Is what keeps people from fulfilling their dreams. If that is incomplete, if that circuit is incomplete, you're not going to get your dreams met. You're not going to get your needs met.
So somebody who lives a solar powered life has completed that circuit. They love themselves. They respect themselves. They trust themselves, and they create magic. You know, living a solar powered life is not difficult. It's not difficult, but it's, but it's essential to creating that life, that powerful magical life that we all deserve. It is absolutely crucial to developing that life and developing these projects and that love that we all deserve and that we all need.
Now this podcast is gonna look really a couple of ways. There are gonna be a few episodes where it's just going to be me speaking to you, Speaking about my trouble, my, my struggles. Not my troubles, but my struggles in really living a solar powered life. It's gonna be about, really, things that I have taken on in order to heal some of the wounds in my past. And trust me, there are enough wounds in my past to stun a team of horses in their tracks.
But I'm gonna be sharing what I'm doing to to to really heal those wounds. But what I'm most excited about with this podcast is sharing conversations with people who I already see as living a solar powered life. Because what better way to share my soul with the world than through my 3 greatest passions that don't involve the mighty Alabama Crimson Tide. And my 3 gay, greatest passions are this, art.
And that involves writing, storytelling, music, personal development, and taking a deep look at the issues that men's faith that men's faith that men face. Art, storytelling, music, self development, and looking at men's issues from a deep play from a deep space. And I have some connections already with people who would love to be on the show. Watch my social media for those announcements. But I'm gonna leave you with this.
One of my core beliefs as a human being, one of my core beliefs as a man, is that we have all been here before. The body of a human being doesn't last forever, but our souls are eternal. We are souls with a skin suit. That's what the human race is. We are souls with a skin suit. And what we do during our, you know, 75, 80 years that we are in that we are inside our skin suit, what we do with that is with that connection with our soul. That is what is called purpose.
That is what is called living a life on purpose, living a life with purpose, and living a life for a greater purpose. What excites you? What are you passionate about? What turns you on? What makes you feel like a little kid? What makes you feel alive? If you can do that, if you can do what turned you on, what makes you feel like a little kid, what makes you feel alive, and if you can make a little money at it along the way, that's all well and good.
But if you can do that, that is what's living that is the definition, the very definition of living a solar powered life Because your skin suit is not gonna be here forever, but your soul, who you are at your root, who you are at your essence, who you are at your bottom barrel truth is eternal. Hey. Like, I'm preaching right now. Let me write reverend King Ryan over here. But I hope y'all get my point.
People who live their life from a soul from a solar powered place, those are the people who get shit done. Period. End of story. End of discussion. Those are the people who make it happen in this world. Those are the people who are the movers and the shakers in this world. Those are the people who can walk into a room and know without a shadow of a doubt that they are a king. They are a queen. They are who they are. So we're gonna get vulnerable here. We're gonna get authentic.
We're gonna get real, super real. Let's strip away all the nonsense. Let's strip away all the BS. Let's just strip away the the, you know, strip away the mass. Strip away the the layers the onion layers, and let's just get to who we are at our truth, at our absolute dead level truth. As soon as you do that as soon as you do that and accept that, that's when you're gonna start living a solar powered life. That's when you're gonna start to own your life.
That's when you're gonna start to write your story with you, not your circumstances, but you hold the pen. You hold the pen. Well, I think that's just about it for episode 1 here of the solar powered podcast. Like I said a couple of times here, these these, individual solo, episodes are gonna be just about me sharing my struggles, my my inspiration. But it's really gonna be about you. It's really gonna be about just who you are. And by you, I'm talking about all y'all.
But it's gonna be about you and what makes you what helps you to become solar powered. And I wanna hear what you I I wanna hear your feedback here. I wanna hear your, I wanna hear your input.
