It is time to get solar powered. We welcome you to the solar powered podcast. I am Ryan Hall from loyal hearts coaching, oil hearts coaching dot com. Boy, have I had a week. Man, oh, man. It has been one of the most surreal weeks in my entire author career. Absolutely insane. Absolutely surreal. Mind blowing. It it's just I don't even know where to begin. I really don't know where to begin, but I'll begin with this. I did a relaunch of written in the stone over the past weekend.
Now Written in the Stone, as I'm sure most of y'all know, was my very first novel. I released it back in 2015 in July of 2015, and I'll be totally honest with you. I didn't know what I was doing. I absolutely did not know what I was doing, releasing a book. At that point, all I wanted to do was just release the book. Get it written, get it published, get it released. And so I did not really know how to how to properly write a book summary.
I did not know how to set up, like, search engine optimization on on Amazon and stuff like that. So to be honest with you, the book never did very well. So I announced that I was going to relaunch written in the stone, and and I wanna say I did get a this was a suggestion by a former podcast guest of mine. Shout out to Jackie Baldwin on that one. But my idea said, screw it. Let's do it. I get a call, but, like, a text message rather.
I get a text message from another former podcast guest of mine, Elizabeth Hill, who suggested that I get in touch with another friend of hers, a woman named Colleen. Colleen and I had a lovely conversation, and we, shined up my we shined up my Amazon page, you know, a lot, set up some search engine optimization, and ran a ran a free giveaway of the Kindle version of written in the stone for 3 days and set up some some great categories. I mean, it it took I mean, it took some work, I think.
It took some work, But I am sitting in front of you here today as an Amazon bestselling author. My book, my baby, my baby, my book baby showed up as number 1 on 2 different, 2 different bestseller categories, and and in a 3rd bestseller category, I was number 8 at one point. Now understand that 2 of the authors in that list out of the top 10 were Ayn Rand and James Patterson. Heavy, heavy company. It was really one of the most surreal moments.
I'm telling you it was one of the most surreal moments of my author career So far, Truly, truly a moment that I will never forget. Re release party on online. I read some, answered some questions, had a great little discussion about what makes a great story, what makes a compelling story. And then by the end of that by the end of that little that little brief soiree, I made an announcement. I made an announcement that has been 5 years coming. I made an announcement that has been 5 years coming.
I now have a publication date for hello again. Now, hello again. I have been working on that new book since, I believe, 2016. The opening scene that I wrote, which occurs, you know, maybe it's it's still in the book. But the opening scene that I wrote is, you know, maybe about 7 or 8 pages in. Still part of the opening sequence, but I have a publication date, and and I have a cover. A cover that I designed myself, by the way.
So I may even have a little talent in that, but it's really coming together. But, Ryan, you have a date for it. Are you going to share with us that date? Of course, I am. Coming to your bookshelves, coming to Amazon, you will be able to say hello again on Tuesday, November 9th 2021. Now there is a lot of work between now and November 9th. I can't believe I'm talking about this. There is a lot of work between now and November 9th, but it's all work that I love.
The cover, the the release date, the it's just been one of the most surreal weeks of my life and the absolute most surreal week of my entire literary career. Now for those who don't know, and if you don't know, then have you been listening to my podcast at all over the past year and a half? That was a joke. Hello again is the story of a man named Mike Holliday. Now Mike Holliday is the host of a network late night TV show.
He's a protege of John Stewart, worships the ground that David Letterman walked on, kind of the thinking man's Jimmy Fallon. During the taping of one of his shows, Mike gets news that was not unexpected but still takes him out. He gets a phone call that his mother has passed away from cancer. Now Mike is kinda got a glamorous life. You know, he's on TV 5 nights a week. He's married to a literal rock star, and he's got a child on the way early in the book.
Now Mike has to go back to his, small hometown in Alabama to, to, go to the funeral and all that. But when he is there, he he sees what kind of bad shape that his dad is in. Now at one point, Jimmy Holliday was the was the most influential slide guitar player not named Duane Allman. His dad's in bad shape. His dad is in really bad shape. Drugs, alcohol, depression, it has completely taken him out.
The book the plot of the book is really about the father and son and how and how they were able to and how the son is able to help his dad fall back in love with his life and fall back in love with a very special girl, a girl made of wood and strings and magnets, his special guitar.
So that is the that is the plot, the the nutshell version, but that is the plot of hello again coming to Amazon in your bookshelves on November 9th, just in time for the holidays, just in time for gift giving, and just in time. It's just in time. I'll just leave it at that. You know? Both of my novels written in the stone and now hello again.
Both of them, both of my novels have been have been written in an attempt to heal, to heal broken hearts, to heal from losing my mom and then losing my dad. These are not the only 2 novels that I will write. I have I have one that I am in the planning stages on right now. But long story short, I I truly believe that hello again is going to strike a chord.
No pun intended because one of my primary characters is a musician, but it will strike a beautiful chord with with readers, with audiences, and I think I've got a hit on my hands. I really do. And you will have much, much more, way much more when we get closer to the release date in November.
I mentioned earlier that it's going to be released right in time for gift giving season, but in reality, the biggest gift the biggest gift that I have ever had has been the ability, has been the the creativity and the talent to share a chunk of my soul with you, and that chunk of my soul will be coming to your bookshelves in November, My gift to you. Hello again. You will be hearing those two words a lot between now and November. Oh, boy. What a week.
