It is time to get solar powered. We welcome you back to another episode of the solar powered podcast. I'm Ryan Hall from Royal Hearts Coaching. Royalheartscoaching.com. Life and relationship coaching for kings. And before I roll the recording on this, I just I wanted to take a look back at where we were just 1 year ago. Now I'm recording this episode on March 15, 2021, and this is gonna go up on Saint Patrick's Day. And, no, I'm not wearing green right now because it's not Saint Patrick.
Never mind. Anyway, just looking back at where we were as a society 1 year ago today to where we are today. Now every time we would turn on the news, 1 year ago today, we were getting these doom and gloom press conferences from from world leaders, from the president, from, you know, from our national leaders. CNN would have the would have how many new cases just plastered on their screen. And it was definitely all doom and gloom. And, honestly, we're still there.
We're still there, but I see some hope. I see some hope at the end of this. I see some possibilities, some opportunity at the end of this. I mean, let's not get it twisted. It's a crying shame that we're not having, you know, Major League Baseball opening days in a couple weeks. First of all, praise Oden. But second of all, it's a crying shame that we're still not to the point of having full stadiums of crazy fans. Alabama football, few weeks ago a couple months ago.
National championship game down in Miami. There should have been 65,000 people, 70,000 people in that stadium. It should have been packed like sardines. There's probably 20,000 people in the stands. The Super Bowl, a few weeks after that, Same deal. Should have been 70,000 people instead that was you know, looked like a, you know, looked like a like a preseason game for the Buccaneers. Although it was on global TV with the, you know, Super Bowl commercials, and it was also a snoozer of a game.
But my point is that we're not back yet, but we're getting there. I was just doing a little bit of research before I rolled this recording here. And something just completely just blows my mind. On this date, on January 15th, which as of right now was exactly 2 months ago, fully vaccinated fully vaccinated people to COVID 19 was at a little over 17,000. As of right now as of right now, exactly 2 months later, fully vaccinated. As of right now, we're at about 37 a half 1000000. 2 months.
2 months. I think we did I mean, we've been and I say we I mean, the people have been doling out at least one vaccination shot at a rate of close to a1000000 a day. And I wanna get my shot as soon as I can. I work with the public. I'm not taking any chances, but I also want to start living my life again as if I'm alive. Do you have any idea how bad I miss concerts, how bad I miss live music, how bad I miss going to ball games. Do you have any idea how badly I miss all this? I can't tell you.
I honestly can't tell you how bad I miss it. Do you have any idea how badly I want to go out to dinner with friends and hug them? We're never gonna be normal again. Let's admit it. We're never going to be normal again. But do you really wanna be? Do you really want to be normal? What is normal anyway? What is normal anyway? Normal, I believe is what got us into this mess. Normal is absolutely living a, quote, normal life is what got us into this mess. I'll give you a good example.
The other day at work, and understand I don't work for Best Buy, but I have become friends with many of the people who do. And this past Saturday was one of my buddy's last days. And this I honestly felt guilty giving this guy a hug, but I think I didn't care. I think my point is is that we're not we're not there yet. We're not there yet, but we're getting there. We're getting there slowly, but surely, we are getting there y'all. But we can't let up.
We can't let up with the vigilance, with the masking, with the hand washing, being careful who we come in contact with. We can't pull that up because I have people in my life who have had this disease, people I'm very close with. And it has laid them flat. I had somebody that I used to work with, older gentleman who actually passed away from this. I didn't know him well, but I did know him. One of my closest friends, his father, his elderly father passed away from this disease.
But again, y'all, again, we are so close. We are so close to turning the corner on this. We are so close to being able to live like human beings again. We're we're we're not but we're not there yet. We're not there yet. We're close. Y'all, we are so close. But, we're not there yet. In 2 months, we went from 15,000 to almost 38,000,000 people fully vaccinated. That is insane. That is absolutely insane. You know, I remember a podcast that I did, one of my early episodes.
I wanna say it was maybe episode 5, episode 4 or 5, something like that. And in that podcast, I I heard a story, a story of me walking Pete out here in the streets of Stamford, Connecticut, and noticing that everybody that I saw was wearing a mask. And at that point, it just hit me so hard that I just fell to my knees crying because we couldn't see each other. Capital f c. But I believe over the course of the last year, many of us have learned how to see each other's souls.
To be able to look into the soul of somebody that you know, somebody that you love, somebody that you cherish. Even if you're not in the same room with them or if you haven't seen them physically in over a year, We're able to look into the souls of somebody and see them for their truth. I also think that I shared that there at the beginning of this whole mess, that this reset was what mother nature needed. This reset of just pressing pause pause, wherever I heard that word.
Anyway but pressing pause and resetting itself was what mother nature needed. You know, I think it's almost a good thing. I have I I will not hide this fact that I hate snow. But the fact that up here in the northeast, we got more snow this winter that we had in really the the entire time that I've been up here, that's nothing to sneeze at. It was cold, and it snowed when it was supposed to. We're healing. We're getting better. I don't think this is ever going to be over. I really don't.
I don't think this is ever going to be over this pandemic. But I also believe that we can learn. I honestly believe that we can learn from this, learn how to be better as people, as humans. We're not there yet, but we're well on our way. I think I'll wrap it up here. Thank you all so much for listening to me rant here today. I'm, I'm truly grateful to still be here, to be healthy, to be alive. I'm grateful for all the support that I've had over this podcast over the past year.
And this is something that has that was born out of the pod out of the, out of the pandemic. Never forget that. But I got a couple of requests before we move forward. I've got a couple of requests. My first request is that you that you leave a review of this podcast. Five stars is preferable. But my request is that you leave a review of this podcast. And don't just click the 5 star. Actually leave a review. You can do that on Google. You can do that on Stitcher.
You can do that on Spotify and Apple. You can do that on all those places. And if this podcast or any other podcast that I have put out over the past year has left an impact on you. Share it with a friend. We just recently crossed 1500 total downloads, Have a goal of 5,000 by the end of 2021. I think that's well possible, but it's gonna take all of us. It's gonna take all of us, and I definitely believe we're gonna get there.
Well, that'll do it for this episode here at the solar powered podcast, the presentation of royal hearts coaching. Next time on the solar powered podcast, we've got a really cool guest. I'm gonna be speaking to my friend, April Goff Brown, who was the author of a truly beautiful children's book. She was a previous guest on this podcast, but she's the author of a truly beautiful children's book called I hug you in my heart that has won awards, that has really left an impact on the world.
It's a beautiful story about a beautiful relationship, and it's a really great conversation show. I hope you'll join us for that conversation next time here on the solar powered podcast. But until next time, this is Ryan Hall saying thank you so much for listening. I love you all so much. So long for now and go get solar powered.
