Wherever her eyesight looks at, it's at some different portion of you.

As if trying to take note of every inch of you. And then she says, small. Lacking the authority that she has spoken with exclusively. Petal. And then she gauges, looking. Is that word familiar to you at all? It's what my dad calls me. It is. You heard him? No. I'm going to raise my hand towards you. I promise no harm is going to befall you. And she begins to circle you like a jungle cat. There is that just moment of just complete utter silence. As soon as she leaves your peripheral, it's like she's not there. Like she just, she has disappeared or turned into a ghost. She places a hand on your shoulder and traces it down to like the small of your back. And she begins muttering something, a continued string of words, indecipherable, draconic in nature. It's an incantation. You're allowed to have it.

I don't think there's anything else she can do. As the incantation completes, as you feel magic begin to swell behind you onto the marks on your back, you feel a searing on a very small part on your back. Eventually, eventually it soothes, not immediately. The pain, the pain is still there. Your muscles have tensed up. It is like the moments after a leg cramp where the pain has stopped, but you're still very sore. And you hear her mutter under her breath, what have they done to you? Who?

She takes a moment. And before she walks away from you for a moment, she kind of goes over to the stand where she fusses with a small rucksack, pulling out a small notebook. And she turns towards you. She just goes, tell me your earliest memories. Oh. Would that be the fire? Or does, it would be the fire, right? Yes. There was a fire. Crash was in the air. It was kind of hard to breathe. I think that's when, that's the day that Kali saved me, I'm pretty sure. Inside check.

She hates Kali. Jenny's like, I know it. Jenny's like, we're rocking with her. Oh shit, 25. The slightest imperceptible amount. You see, she shows the slightest just show of disgust. She has control on her face, but even that you feel she has some wrinkled core with it. It was, it's just the twitch of the, the twitch of the lip, the twitch of the eye. The twitch of the eye. And she just kind of like, with that, once more the information sinks in. She doesn't, you don't hear her breathe.

She nods and immediately. In the meantime. She does a wave of the hand and the silence bubble disperses. Immediately go over to the others. You guys okay? Yeah. I feel like my ears popped. What did she say? She wanted to see, there was a magic affecting me, something, so she did a spell and she asked about my face.

And she said, I don't know. I just feel like I'm missing something. She said, I don't know. I'm not sure what it was. I thought it was a spell. And she asked about my earliest memories and honestly, I'm really, really confused. But I know that she wants us to stay here for a bit. And I'm really sorry, as I do feel like it is all my fault. It's not your fault. Whatever they wanna know. What does she want? I don't know. Are we still being held by the way?

You're not being held directly, but there is like the feeling of like, you should stay here. She turns to one of them and she goes, who are you? Oh, okay, this is like the teacher's lounge, right? Looking around, is there a way out of here besides back through mushroom land? You have, there is this huge circular gate that's a stone door that is operated by a slow moving mechanism that goes back through mushroom lands. And that seems to be, give me a perception check. Lucy had four points, four hit points goes, okay. That's a 22. You don't see anything immediately, like around you at the moment. The only very obvious exit is the way that you came in.

But I will give you this, you do hear the sound of a waterfall. Very faint. But even with a 22 perception, looking around in your current position, you can't, there's so much from it, you can tell where the sound of the waterfall is coming from at the very least. Okay. And they don't seem distracted by whatever that darting figure was. They don't. What are you reading? So he has a book? They're so far, but they're coming over. They're approaching. And you guys are still whispering if you guys want to make a plan. No. If they get distracted again, we just need to go. There's a waterfall here. I hear in the distance. I can't quite, it's echoing, so it's kind of hard to tell. If we get moved at all, maybe I'll keep an ear out.

Or. Can't swim up a waterfall, though. We can get phantom. Oh. Yeah, we gotta, I mean, yeah. We could just kind of jump on her. Okay. Eventually, Avanya approaches. You see this refined, drow gentleman, white hair, these silver eyes, fucking hot, whatever, dude. He's hot, okay? Mm-hmm. Hey? Comes over with this book pressed to his chest. And he, and looking to you, addressing you specifically, Lucia. Salutations. I'm just here to appraise the writing on your back.

The woman goes, there's a curse and a scribe on your flesh. How did you know about it? Curse? The answer to that isn't put in at the moment. Well, what if you're the one who put it on her? Exactly. I'm not. Then how do you know? We've been nothing but cooperative with you.

I'll answer your questions in due time, but for now, I'm on the hunt for answers myself. I would be much more helpful to you if I were to know the qualities of this curse. And I am more than willing to cooperate as we have before, but it seems like this is a me thing, like a me issue, and it has nothing to do with them. So, can you let them go?
