I am Tim Don Tran and I am your narrator. Maybe please go ahead and introduce ourselves from head to toe. Hi, I'm Jenny's head talking right now.

I guess usually the talking does come from the head, you know, logically I guess. I'm always confused. If you listen to these, I always sound confused at the start of these, because I'm processing whatever you just said. And every time I open the podcast to edit it, I just listen and I'm like, wow, I sound so stilted and so confused. And that's exactly what's happening. It takes like five run throughs for you to understand. Head to toe? And I play Cecilia Idlewind today, at least.

Changing systems, I know it seems like a very scary and daunting task, maybe as a listener and maybe as someone who knows 5th edition very well. But if you've listened to us, then what makes a game special?

It's not the rules, it's not the words and numbers that dictate what we do to resolve current situations, it's not all of that. What makes any game special, mine, ours, or yours, are the things that you do with it and the things that you bring with it. Cecilia, Jean-Claude, the world that we play in and the stories we tell, those are ours. And the stories we tell, the messages we write, and the things we want to represent, that is all universal.

So please stick with us for the next few weeks as me, Jenny, and Emma explore alternatives, find vehicles for our dear song-woven as we maneuver ourselves through some of the strife going on in the community. Goodness, what did I say? Very well, you did very good. Also for those in our Discord, I think if people have any recommendations, I think we'd love to hear them too for other systems as well.

We're not necessarily looking for the game that's the closest match to D&D, because I don't feel like we really play D&D like D&D that much. We play D&D in the very story roleplay, which I know a lot of people are doing nowadays too, which is, but we are open to looking for systems that aren't necessarily the closest similarities to D&D, but rather focusing on the things that we tend to focus on in our games.

And so we're going to take time deciding what, since we are very, we play D&D because we know it very well, so it's easy for us to just ignore it and do the story basically. So learning a new system will be hard, but if we can find a system that helps support the story better, then it'll be a lot better. Literally the only reason why we're playing for the Discord is because we know it. A lot of people know it. It's streamlined, but it's about time.

And no matter what system we go to, like Tim reiterated earlier, these characters are the same. This world is the same. We're not going to have some weird character personality. They're going to be the same goofs that they are. We as the players are just going to find a different way that maybe you can learn along with us to a different way we can tell a story through RPG, which we all love here. All right. Open D&D. Okay. There you go. We said it. And rip out the guts. I don't want D&D itself to die. I'm not interested in playing D&D. No, it's foreseeable future. But tonight. Yeah, so the last session started with Claude asleep and he having a vision of his niece Sylvie before she got kidnapped. And it sucked. And also there was lots of fire in the vision. And then this hag Eri is like, hey, I can help you. I just want a day of your life. And Claude's like, I don't trust you. I don't even know you. Claude's like, I read one storybook that said you can't trust me. The end.

And so Eri's like, well, you know, you can like hit me up when you get back to your own, your hometown, which is coming up. Like just just come say hi, you know. And I'll convince you by then, basically. And then Claude woke up very disturbed from that, understandably. And we said goodbye to Diem and went about our way towards Kirkchester, which is the capital of this region, and about a third of the way to Cadvarum. That's what my notes say. And there's a house. There's a house.

Harvel. That must be I think I was on my notes from the week before, which is why I didn't write it down. House Harvel is the Lord here. And we find this lady tied to a tree, super drunk, like so out of it. We found out she was robbed and tied up to the tree and we take her back into town. Her name is Rohace. And Rohace is like talking about how much she hates her husband, how busy he is, and all this crazy stuff flirting with Claude. JT says we should have left her there.

We go to town and the guards are like, oh, it's it's our lady, you know, the wife of the Lord of the whole freaking region, basically. And so and she's like, I don't want to go home. And we're like, we don't know if we should send her home. That seems irresponsible. So she's not wanting to go home. But we don't really have much of a choice. So we go home.

We bring her home and talk to her brother, who also seems to be like kind of crazy, like like they talking like they are having like hallucinations, we thought of like animals and things and just all this crazy stuff, it seems like. And we talked to the husband and he's like, oh, yeah, they're sick. Thanks for bringing them home safely. I'll give you a reward.

But we were traveling through a swamp and we were ambushed by Bullywugs and we have Wug fever, which is known to give hallucinations and things. So we're like, oh, well, I can help heal. He's like, no, we have good healers. And he's also clearly sick, like coughing and things. And so Claude, as he goes to leave, casts detect poison and disease and senses that he has a disease called Titans fever, not swamp fever. We don't know what that is, because I'm a dumbass.

As I said 30 times last game, I'm exhausted and have disadvantage in all my ability checks. And I am the person who would know what that is if someone knew probably as, you know, the med student, basically. And so we're like, he also said that we could go because we really wanted to help and we're worried about his wife being safe here, since she seems very unhappy and he seems unhappy by the statements that she's unhappy. But oh, and Jean Claude also got signed up to be her marriage counselor.

But I'm not sure if that's happening anymore. Also she calls him gravy or something. There's a lot going on with her. I wrote it. So we go talk to the servant Lindor. No, no, that's the brother. Landau. The Lord, isn't he like a lord, another land out the head servant. OK, we went to go talk to the head servant because they said we could help him with some things and he'd also give us our reward. And he's like, oh, are you from the adventuring guild?

And we're like, no, we're we're here to just help with whatever you need. And he's like, oh, wow, they're getting real desperate if you're independent contractors. And so we he says, I need help clearing out these rats from the basement. And I also need help catching this goose, but you can't hurt it off of orders of the lady. So we go looking for the goose and I go looking through books to learn about Titan's fever because I have a bunch of medical books. Don't find anything.

But Claude faces down with the goose, cast speak with animals and they like kind of go at it. And then he's talking, Claude's talking about like, oh, are you like a person? So Cecilia thinks I'm going to cast Moonbeam, which reveals shape changers. And he turns into a very big Goliath, right? And then a cat we were with robs me, stands on the tides legs and robs me. And then a bunch of rats come up and start attacking us.

And there's a rat with an eye patch and a gun who shoots the guard nearest to us with a tiny mouse sized gun. And then they all ran away after like, you know, getting their friends free from the chaos. And nobody believes us. They all think we're hallucinating from diseases until we start pointing out more and more proof. And then they're like, okay, believe us. I think we might believe you. I think we're winning them over and it's time for us to go talk to the Lord. That's what happened.

It was a fever dream indeed. Chat says they after the after they formed the Lord of the crazy stuff that was going on, people in their house in the manor, possibly stealing from them. And the Lord had the Lord had a row Hayes and Linderick evacuated from the house. And that is where we last left. Oh, and they're called the maple fritters. They said the druids. First bards, now druids. John Claude has a lot of judgments on different classes. Okay, with that said, Emma, have fun. I'm okay.

I got this. Let's do this. I was like, hey, have fun DMing. This is yours now. Are you not okay? I'm good. Let's do this. DM. Let's do this. JT says to drink water because we don't have a hydrate command yet. Yes, drinks of water. Here we prioritize health. So if we need to, if you need me to, I will. I will DM this game. First we open currently in the throes of chaos. Tiny rats that were once scared. I don't want to do it anymore. What the fuck did you lie to me? Who the fuck?

You got to be John Claude? John Claude, we shouldn't. Who am I now? You're going to sit right there and you're going to like it anyways. And now I crush it. Lord, how did that, why the fuck did you do that? You were beat on my G. Oh goodness, I'm not doing it. I'll give my John Claude. Continue. Anyways, where we last left off. After Lord Harville bore witness to the aftermath of an event caused by strange druids transmogrified and shapeshifted into different animals.

A goose, a cat, and a band of rats. You see that there, he gathers his guards to, who carry Roe Hayes and Lenderick outside of the manor as they... Sorry. We're laughing and I don't understand why. Because I posted a picture of Cecilia in sunglasses. It's a modified emote channel points thing. I did that a bunch last game, but with John Claude. We didn't notice. And when during the fire, I put fire around the John Claude. Burned by emote? We can do that? Oh gosh. Just watch.

End of the session, someone's going to be dead. I'm calling it. This has been a great episode so far. You're very on task today. It has been 24 minutes. Okay. Let me show you this one. Sorry, podcast viewers, we were just a little distracted. Hey! Okay. Back on track. Future Timmy and Jenny, we need to cut this out. What's that thing called? I don't know. I have the giggles. This is bad. Okay. What is it called, those little umbrella houses that you find in a rich state back then?

It's like a wooden platform. A hut? No, not a hut. A gazebo? A gazebo, yes. Everyone, let's calm down. We are a zen and we are going to play Songwulvin, a fantasy adventure. As Lord Harville has his guards and house servants, Ferry, I will, Lindorik and Rohes out towards the gazebos in the yard. There is currently a fire in the distance caused by, from what a guard seems to have heard, a goose wielding a Molotov cocktail. I sound insane. I forgot about that.

You see a smoke rising into the air and multiple guards rushing their way over there. You just see a Landau with his hands reaching his head. Lord Harville making his way over on his cane, coughing a bit. He goes, looking at you two, he just goes, can the two of you tell me truly what's going on here? Can you tell me truly what is going on with you? He looks towards Cecilia. Can you tell me?

There's some sort of shape changer force known as the Make-Bow Fritters, as they self-call themselves here. And I guess us catching them might have led them to set something on fire, maybe. I don't know. Okay, the size defeated. So there's a group of animals who call themselves the Maple Fritters, one of them being a goose who- There's a group of people who can turn into animals. Okay. Who call themselves the Maple Fritters. And one of them is a goose who had set my house on fire.

And one of them is a mouse with an eye patch and a gun, who shot one of your guards with the tiny gun. He's fine, because it was really tiny. You do see that the- as soon as you see that the guard who got shot has like a hand, like the back of his hand on his forehead, as he's being carried out by two other guards, carried through the gate. Lord Harvel just kind of like looks as he's carried past, seeing the tiny little bullet wound on his posterior. Am I having a- is this a part of the fever?

You mean your titan fever? Yes, the titan- the wug- he- you see as he says that, his eyes widen, like he was going to correct you, but then he realizes what correcting you even means. Dead stare. His stare towards you as his hand leaves his eyes towards his mouth, looking towards you, is that of- there is a clash between the both of your eyes. His sickly eyes still come through with a sort of like an almost deadly and sharp feel to it as he looks at you. There we go.

Yes, you know, I kind of need to have transparency with my clients. Want to diagnose when I am given a misdiagnosis. You give a diagnosis as a marriage counselor? Yes I do. Because I am the captain. And some people say love is the most deadly disease of all, so- My confusion continues to absolutely mount. But I am going- I'm going to chalk it up to my fever. Landell, please hold down- please hold down the fort. Get Captain Danekis to secure perimeter around. Just around the estate.

And what exactly are you going to do with these two? Talk with them. Right. Do be careful, my lord. And he begins- the place that everyone is evacuating from, you see he looks into the manor and he just walks towards there, even though everyone else evacuated away from it. Okay, let's go. You see already, like hearing- the lord had given the order earlier that there were people inside. You see guards already stepping and stomping their boots about.

He- real quick, I am getting an echo of myself from, I believe you Emma. It's me, it's me, it's always me. If I go ahead and talk now, am I going to continue echoing? No I'm not. Okay, absolutely perfect, just making sure. Despite the chaos inside the manor, Lord Harville starts making his way up the stairs and he does so slowly, having to use the cane to support him. Before he makes it to the second floor, you see every room is being searched, cabinets and bookshelves are being lifted.

This is a rather huge- it is a rather huge manor. Until eventually he brings you to a room on sort of the far end of a corridor, opening the door. It seems to be a study area with a very nice wooden desk and two bookshelves sit at an angle in each corner. He just moves in and holds the door open for you two and closes the door as you walk in.

He leans against the wall, looking at you specifically Jean-Claude and just goes, I assume you found out because of your- you are of a divination persuasion, correct? Yes it is correct. I see. I did wonder why a member of the Groven Guard was so far away from home, still gallivanting about in your uniform and everything. Just because you took charge of this one, correct? Looking at Cecilia. And I did not take- I'm not like ordering her, I'm more like escorting her. Right, well.

That is scarcely my business. Joss, what do you know about Titan's Fever? Nothing. We just want to help and it is very difficult to assist you when there is a lot of satirfuge, as we saw earlier with the animals that are druids. I was trying to figure out but Jean-Claude got attacked by the goose when I was looking through my books. The geese are awfully aggressive around- oh, that's one of the Maple Fritters. It's a person, yes. I punched him in the beak. I see.

Personally wouldn't want the opposition to be a group called the Maple Fritters and yet here I am. I will pay you 500 gold pieces for your silence on this matter, to not speak about this to any other soul out there. Why? I understand that you are very curious on this matter and that you believe that there is a truth to be found. However, I am hoping that I can put a price on your curiosity, to satiate it.

Note that this matter is of a personal matter and there are some factors of this situation that seem to be best left untouched by unfamiliar hands. My wife, Rohe's, and her brother are safe. They have all willfully contracted this fever with me in pursuit of something. And perhaps there is another organization who has heard of our actions and suffered to look into the matter themselves. The last thing I would want right now is for anyone else to get involved in this.

Please understand that this is a... that the matter is clandestine. The fact that I have Titan's fever in the first place... the fact that I have it in the first place would... could... that information would get out there. I could be placed on trial. I am immune to diseases, so I cannot contract this. You will not get it. I see. It has been around for weeks. The servants have been around us for a while and Rohe's typically indulges herself more often on the outside of the matter walls.

But no one else seems to have contracted the fever. Why would you willingly get it? It doesn't seem like she's safe. I mean, she's going out wandering and drinking and getting robbed and tied to trees. She's not safe. Despite our best efforts, we've increased our security to help keep her in place, but she was once a ranger. In the wild groves in the north. I'm not certain how she can even be able to use her abilities and skills to get past our guards, but there she is.

We are trying everything to keep everyone safe and locked up here. I myself have been affected. But seemingly those two have acted more severely. Why would you willingly catch it though? That I cannot tell you. Because there is something to gain. What, visions of sorts? As you kind of prod, giving a persuasion check. He is not going to punch the big furball right now. That's the last thing he needs to anger the furball. Punch my lights out. Okay. Persuasion? Yes, please. Okay. Hold on, please.

Persuasion is going to be 21. DC was 20. Let's fucking go. Marriage counselor is in the house. As you kind of gently prod with that leading statement, he rubs his face for a bit, pondering and thought. And he just goes, a commitment. Let it be known that it will pass. The issue is that your wife is quite miserable. And the reason we are here in the first place was because she did not want to return here.

And as a groving guard, yes, I am outside of my jurisdiction, but it is part of my duty to protect those both domestic and foreign, especially when it comes to materials, any gestures of marriage. I'm not so sure we can, we will keep it quiet, but we cannot just leave her. I understand your concern. It's a very humane concern, and that is from the goodness of your heart. So I cannot deny or fault you for that.

I suppose the fever has expedited some of my wife's impatience with our current ongoing life. And perhaps intensified some aspects of it as well. Why would you get sick as part of a commitment though? What kind of a commitment is that? Like I said, I understand your curiosity, but I can't indulge it any further. It's for your safety and also mine. Then how are the Maple Footails? Who are they? Are they a thieves guild? Do you know them? That's not part of my fever, okay. I'm not sure.

Hearing about the Maple Footails is a first time for me actually. But I suppose that with certain actions that we're doing that we would draw opposition. But looking at you Jean-Claude, seeing that you're a groven guard with a commitment to community duty and doing the right thing. Like bitch. It's like no shit, it's connected. All handles. All handles. All matters will be handled. Abelia kinda looks at Claude for a second.

She's never done anything like this before and she's really scared that it's gonna be stupid but she can't ask him about it beforehand before she does it. And she just says... Can I ask one more time? A commitment to who? Answer. And that answer is the spell command. Oh shit. That's... Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That's so... She goes, I'm an adventurer now motherfucker. He has to make a wisdom save with disadvantage. Cause he's sick. Can I put him in a headlock? Will that help?

Put the sick old man in a headlock. Oh he has a good mod. DC14. At least maybe he'll think the spell effect maybe was a part of his fever or something. Exactly. I'm going to have him roll. I'm going to have him roll an insight check with disadvantage. Let's see. Face the back view. Oh Jesus that's a nat 20. Can you give me either a performance or a deception check? It doesn't matter they're both the same. Two things Cecilia excels at. And I have disadvantage.

Oh cause you're fucking tired god damn it. Just a bunch of really tired people in Jean Claude. And then it's Jean Claude. Eight. I believe you have stayed your welcome enough. Why will you not accept our help? We are clearly here to assist, help you. What do we need to do to prove it to you? No help is needed. That's very toxic of you. He moves to open the door. Where's your marriage counselor? It is incredibly important to ask for help. It is actually brave to ask for help.

Just the bravest thing you can do as you are hacking up a fucking lung and might kill over dead. Yeah call for the guards. Can they hear you? No cause you're coughing up a lung. And also because they evacuated the house. He walks towards the window in the room. For god's sake come on. He just goes. I don't know who you think you are trying to coerce information out of me using magic. She's young. But that's no proper way to ask a question to anyone.

Well I already asked the proper way and I... she's very defensive all of a sudden. And I'm just really worried about... And the answer does not want to be... is not ready to be readily shared with you. I think there clearly is a reason to worry though. John Claude has an idea and he goes Cecilia we have done enough here. Come we shall continue on our way. He's gonna roll an insight check. Should I roll an insight check? Can I roll deception? Yes please. The 15 is the number to beat. Oh no!

The 13 motherfucker! I actually rolled a 15 insight check. Yeah you both know he's fucking lying. Why? Oh because the whores that are missing it. His vision drops for a second as his eyes kind of like narrow at you John Claude. For the first time you see where his hand was used to like shield his coughs into a bucket. His hand, his left hand actually like you know white gloves on his hand lowers down to his side and the cane in his hand you see he adjusts it.

He throws it up and grabs it in the middle as he now kind of stands firmly. I am telling you to leave one last time. My offer still stands. Despite despite the scannery that you've endowed upon me. In this short time that we've known each other I am still allowing you. I am excusing you. Then we shall be escorting your wife as well to safety. Considering I consider this to be a hostile environment in which she is trapped by her husband and with he will not really. You are not touching my wife.

She will come if she wants. I will not touch her. If she would like to come she can come but she will know that she can leave freely since she's so fucking miserable here with you and I can understand why someone who doesn't ever fucking help. Cecilia let's go. Come on I'm done with him. I tried. We tried. You open the door.

As you open the door and hop and you get ready to walk out there is already like a servant who is standing in the middle of the hallway who seemed to be like she was leaning in on the door. And as you just open the door she just goes and she stands up straight and you see the you see Lord Harval just goes. Lucia please fetch the guards escort these two out of here. You're leaving. Yes my lord. And she turns and walks in a hurry. Fact that we escort ourselves. Come on Cecilia. Start walking.

As you start walking out the fire has been put out already. It's been put out. It's been put out a bit ago. And you hear a bit of shouting at distance just goes can someone please fetch my explosive tipped crossbow. I want to go duck hunting. Yes please can someone fetch my dear brother's explosive tipped crossbow. She looks at Claude like are we getting them? She's surrounded by guards tending to her like servants and stuff like checking up on her and she's surrounded by guards.

Yeah she's being tended to in the gazebo. Oh oh my lady we have issues from the lord we have come to collect you come come come excuse me and he's moving to the moving with the guards. I catch calm emotions also so that they won't attack us hopefully. We're going fucking guns blazing. Also Cecilia is slinging spells today. I'm tired. Alright I'm going to roll a few I'm going to roll one saving throw for all of them. Charisma saving throw. Five. That fails. Fuck yeah. Fuck yeah. 14. Yay Jenny.

This doesn't mean like they're stupid or anything it just means that like they won't become hostile towards us. Right they're not going to fight us. So Jean-Claude do you give a never mind you're just going to go towards Reyes. Yeah and we have been instructed to escort you madam if you would be so kind. You can escort me yes absolutely. We've been instructed to keep the lady safe. Where do the guards go? And she's talking to him so.

She's more safe with us those who discover the perpetrators and the disguises of the druids that have infiltrated your house. We are taking her. And you're the marriage counselor so. I am also a marriage counselor. I could keep her safe let though please fetch my bomb throwing stars. And brother you come too come come come come come and he's going to escort them on both arms and you know lead them away from the gazebo.

And as he as he as he holds on to he looks he just goes oh I all of a sudden got really hungry.
