Know and we have Courtney joining us right now. We're going to talk about Roots Fest and this is happening at Roots of Brazil and it's kicking off at noon today, so like right now is when this is getting started, goes till eight o'clock tonight. Courtney, what are some of the fun things are going to be happening at this amazing festival today?
We have a lot of fun things John for today, something for everyone. It's a family friendly, free outdoor event right outside Roots of Brazil and our parking lot. We'll have live music going on all day. We have four different fans that'll be here performing. We actually will have zoomba going on in between the music sets. We'll have delicious food that'll be easy to eat and full of flavor. We'll have beer and Boba lemonade for the kiddos. We
know how much kids love Boba lemonade. We also have a kids zone, so Ace Academy, the Ace Collective will be bringing materials for kids. Will have face painting, a giant coloring page, jinga connect for bean bags, all the goods to keep the young ones entertained, and also the older ones too, because who are we kidding, We like to play some games too when we're out but them.
We'll also have some vendors as well, some art, jewelry vendors, and it'll be a day filled with just live music, high vibrations, you know, high energy and a good time for people of all ages.
I love that this is the second annual event. So they did this last year it was a huge success. Now they're doing it again today. Like I said, it's kicking off right now, goes till eight o'clock tonight. We'll give you the address here in just a little bit. It's at a place called Roots of Brazil. Courtney tell us a little more For folks that maybe have never been to Roots of Brazil, let's talk a little bit about that. We've been there a few times. It is amazing,
the food is delicious. But let's talk about Roots of Brazil and how long you guys have been around.
Yeah. Roots of Brazil brings a very eclectic piece of culture to our downtown area in Sioux Falls. So it's a small, family owned restaurant. We have five owners. The mother was originally born in Brazil and came over and started a family here in the US, and that's who owns it. Their son is an owner, and our chef who creates a wonderful menu of flavor and mixing different spices than making things really work in favor of a
lot of our dishes. And so it's a cozy atmosphere too inside the building if you come to dine, and we actually just updated our patio section this year, so we have four tables outside that you can dine at. It's a small area, but it has beach vibes right when you walk in for the atmosphere, and then also a little bit of ranch vibes from the owners who go to their ranch when they visit back home in Brazil.
So it's a really nice, quaint, cozy basa nova vibe right when you walk in, and then it's just enhanced by the food the friendly staff. So it's a whole experience you take a moment and you travel out of Swoo Falls downtown two Falls for a moment into Brazil, into a new space. And so it's an amazing experience for those who haven't experienced it. And it's always fun hearing people returning customers say they can't wait to try something else on the menu.
Absolutely, we loved I don't know if you call it flat bread or pizza. Either way, it was absolutely delicious.
It is pizza. We actually we kept the wood oven from the past or owners, and so we use that to our advantage and cook delicious Brazilian styled pizzas. So you'll see heart boiled eggs on the pizza. You'll see you'll see katsuopiti, which is a cream cheese. You'll see different things at Brazilian spicy sausage too, just in order to enhance that flavor and to keep those Brazilian traditions and roots in even in our pizzas.
I love that again. The second annual Roots Fast is going on right now, goes till eight o'clock tonight. It's at Roots of Brazil. If you've never been there, you gotta go check it out. If you don't make it today, make it soon, but today would be a great day again for roots Fest, live music, all kinds of fun stuff going on. It's on the corner of eighth Street and Weber in downtown Soux Falls. Courtney, thank you again for talking to us about it.
Thank you so much. John. Yes, hopefully you'll stop out and see all the fun we're having.
