I wish I could say we had an amazing fireworks show on the fourth of July, but sadly the fireworks portion of the event got rained out, so we did not get to
do that. But I do want to say thank you to everybody that came out for all of the fun that started at seven pm, and we had some folks that were showing up at like six point thirty. So a big thank you to all of the sponsors, and a big thank you to all of the volunteers and all the people that put their heart and soul into making this event happen. And I wish we could have gotten everything in, but we didn't get to do some
of it. So I'm going to go through and just talk about the things that we did get to do, because even though the fireworks didn't happen, look at all the cool stuff we did get to do. A big thank you to the American Bank and Trust the folks there for the American Bank and Trust Kids area. That happened and a whole lot of kids had a whole lot of fun. Big thank you to Trail Life for being the volunteers to help there. They gave out a
bunch of flags. They had ten thousand flags, and I know they've got some left because again the thing got cut short. But we'll have some of those for it next year. And again I think we're getting more so we'll be given out even more flags next year. Mister Twister and the balloons sponsored by many critters. Big thank you to all the people who stood in line with mister Twister. Hector Curiel Caricatures sponsored by Jamie Warning Home
for Heroes and HEG Realtors. A big thank you to Hector for doing an amazing job drawing the awesome caricatures. And I've seen a bunch of those shared online, which is cool. Party Train USA that was brand new this year, a Kid's train sponsored by Midwest Railcar Repair that happened as well. Also, Great Faces photo booth was brand new this year sponsored by Yonnuts and Sioux Falls that happened. And the face painting for the kids sponsored by cufflinks
dot Com. Big thank you to the young lady who's doing the face painting and Cufflinks for sponsoring it. Then we get to the free entertainment on the Blue Peak Fiber Internet stage. We got a lot of this stuff in not everything, but Phil Baker performed courtesy of sux Falls jc's and South Dakota Arts Council, and the brass Holes performed as well, see of Sunny Radio. They got rain and they stopped, and then they came back out and rained and then stopped and then they came back.
They performed three times, and finally the sky broke loose in the middle of their set, and that's when we had to kind of finally just go, okay, we're done. So we did not get to do the Poet Ethanol Power Vanguard flyover. They were on the runway, they were ready to go. But then that's right, it was eight thirty is when they were going to be doing the flyover,
and that's right when the storm got pretty bad. Nine o'clock we were going to have the Starts and Ends band and they were also going to perform for the Comfort King Mattress Factory Comfort King after party, and we didn't get to do that. Bubba, thank you for coming out being a part of the event. He was there and helping and we were making announcements and doing stuff in the rain. So Bubba was very very helpful and
we hoped to have him perform next year. And then we also the other one thing that we didn't get to do was the fireworks, and I understand it's a big thing at the Sioux Falls Fireworks, but sadly we did not get to do that because of the rain. I want to say thank you all the volunteers. We had so many people helping this year, and again just amazing groups of people and some individuals that reached out and said, hey, how can I help? What do you need help with? So big thank you all of them. Also,
a huge thank you to the food trucks. This year. We had more food trucks than we've ever had in the past. And we're gonna do a little different layout next year because we had food trucks kind of parked in weird places. But a big thank in all of the food trucks for being out there. And again a huge thank you to all of our sponsors. Huge thank you to MarketBeat dot Com. Sunny Radio, Grand Falls, Casino and Golf Resort, Cufflinks, American Bank and trust is He's,
jim A Pokemon Store, and so much more. They were on site too, giving away all kinds of cool stuff, Nordstrom's Automotive, forty nine Streetlaker Corner Pantry, Farmers Union, Insurance Grant Sarta Agency, Vernity, Mitsubishi, Yo Nuts, Sue Falls, Audiology Associates, Patient Care, Ems Solutions, Comfort King, Mattress Factory, Excel Energy, Poet, Blue Peak, Fiber Internet, Sue Falls, Jc's Planes, Commerce Bank, Midwest Railcar Repair, Taco Bell, Border Foods, Cube, Portable Storage Solutions,
Homes for Heroes, and Jamie Warning, very very nice, young Lady Stan Houston Equipment, Quickstar Shields, Dakota rad On Mitigation and Cap Services. Also thank you to Culver's Frozen Custard and Butterburgers and Mini Critters and our friends at the fireworks store again, huge naked, all of them. Now. I know there were people who were sad that we didn't get to do the fireworks. You know who was even more sad than you? Me? I was very sad. I spent an entire year doing fundraising to get the funds
to put this on. There were people on the internet who think that this is like sponsored by the city they give us zero dollars that they get sponsored by like the county they give us zero dollars. So the funds one hundred percent of these funds come from businesses who support this. So again, I understand you were disappointed. You can get to see the fireworks. I was way more disappointed. But here's what happened a couple of years
ago when the people were canceling everything else. I had people calling me at noon when it was raining out and I was out at the fairgrounds putting up flags and banners in the rain. Two years ago, I had people calling saying when are you going to cancel? And I say, well, it looks like it's going to be nice tonight, so we're not going to cance. Literally had an old man and a car pull up mocking me for being out in the rain, saying, well, you're more
optimistic than me. So I'm a very optimistic dude, and I was hoping Friday night that we would have the same type of thing happened where the weather just waited long enough and it looked like it was going to as well. We were able to start the event. We got about halfway through the event before we finally had to stop. But sadly, the last two years we had forecasts for rain and we didn't get rain, and we were one of the only fireworks events that actually happened.
Last year and the year before, many other places canceled. This is the first time we've ever had to cancel because of rain. We've never canceled for any reason, and the JCS did this for about sixty years. They had two rainouts in sixty years. So there's some people online that were like, oh, this thing always gets canceled. Nope, you're wrong, completely wrong. Reach out. I'd love to chat with you and tell you what happens, because that's never happened.
I don't know what you're thinking of, but it's not this thing. So again, big thank you, all the volunteers, all the sponsors, and I want to say thank you to my wife because my goodness, she wish. First of all, she puts up with me not doing my job around here for about two months because I'm working on that. But also she was trying to defend the fireworks online as people were being because some people keyboard Warriors on here. Oh this is horrible. I get it. You're disappointed that
we didn't have fireworks. I guarantee you we were far more disappointed than you were. Here's the good news. Let's put that in the past. Let's look at the future. Twenty twenty six, America's two hundred and fiftieth birthday. We're going to have the fireworks that we're going to raise funds for this whole year. Plus we've got some fireworks from this year. We're gonna have one heck of a party. And you were invited. And here's the other thing I would love everybody to do. Pray for a clear sky
on the fourth of July. We would really like to have that for July fourth, twenty twenty six. Again, super excited for a bigger, better, a more amazing show than we've ever done.
