Something you should go. Something you should know is brought to you by Genesisgoldiura dot com. That is also something you should know. You can put your retirement plan on the gold Standard. Get all the details at genesiscoldira dot com. And I've got Jill and Izzy joining me from Special Olympics of South Dakota. And you guys have a fun event coming up tonight and we're going to visit with Izzy. Tell me a little bit about what this event is and how people can be involved.

Speaker 2

Yes, So tonight is Chase the Ace. And what Chase the Ace is is a game of chance drawing. The game board starts with fifty four sealed envelopes, each containing a card from a standard deck and with the objective of finding the Ace of Spades nice Each week, patrons buy tickets and select a number on the game board that they think the Ace of Spades is under. Each week, we draw one ticket at seven thirty seven pm at tenners. No need to be present to win.

Speaker 1

Cool.

Speaker 2

If your ticket is drawn for the week, then we open the envelope with the number you selected on the game board. If it is not the Ace of Spades, then you win ten percent of that week's sales. If the eighths of spades is in the envelope, then you win fifty percent of the jackpot.

Speaker 3

Nice.

Speaker 2

We are on week five and the current jackpot stands at fifteen thousand, eight hundred and eighty three dollars.

Speaker 1

Wow, fifteen grand. That's awesome and that'll be growing today and by the time we have the drawing tonight, seven thirty seven. Is that what you said? Yes, how do we choose seven thirty seven?

Speaker 3

So seven thirty seven because it's memorable?

Speaker 1

There you go, it is memorable. I bet that was a marketing person that came up with that.

Speaker 3

Jill. Oh, it was our CEO actually, so I can't take credit.

Speaker 1

So now Izzy and Jill are with Special Olympics of South Dakota. Let's talk a little bit about what you do with the organization.

Speaker 3

Jill, So, do you want me to talk about Special Olympics as a whole? Yeah? Perfect, So Special Olympics Off Dakota. We have more than twenty seven hundred and fifty athletes across these eight and the sports we hold are year round. So right now we are in our basketball season, which is probably one of our more popular sports. Coming up in March, we have our state basketball tournament where probably more than eight hundred athletes will be participating in Mitchell.

Speaker 1

Oh it's in Mitchell, Okay. And so I went to one last year in Yankton. So the Yankton or Vermilion, it was the Yankton I think was that the state thing last year? That was a different tournament.

Speaker 3

That was a different tournament, that was our Southeast Area tournament. So that one's also very large as well.

Speaker 1

Yeah, we pulled in. I'm like, I didn't realize there'd be this many cars. So we get to walk a distance. It's really cool. It's a great and I love what you guys do, so thank you for it to do. And Isy, what do you do with the organization?

Speaker 2

So I am our law enforcement torch run Liaison, which means I'm on the fundraising side for special Olympics. So we throw together special events like Chaseace, like polar plunges, heroes polls, and with that, all of our funds are going back to local delegations and athletes across the state to support them in their year round sporting experience.

Speaker 1

I love that. And again, it's not just one person, it's a whole bunch of people working together to put all of these events and all of this stuff on. But everything that you guys do is so important because these little details make a big difference. And like I said, the event tonight fifteen thousand dollars currently it's going to be more than that. If I would like to get a ticket or it's not a ticket, I buy a what do I buy a ticket? Or how does that work?

Is he tell me how? If I want to be a part of the thing tonight.

Speaker 2

Yes, So if you want to be a part of it. To purchase your tickets, you can visit Special Olympics South Dakota on our Facebook page or check out our website at SOOSD dot org.

Speaker 1

Nice and I'm going to throw a link to make that easy to find as well. And when I get on there, I can buy a ticket, and like you said, I don't have to be present, but I might want to be present because that'd be really cool to be there and find out that, hey, I just want fifteen or whatever it is, whatever the amount is at that point.

Speaker 3

Yes, yes, so you can come on down to Tinners and purchase tickets there if you so, just as well.

Speaker 1

Very nice, So tonight at Tinners seven thirty seven pm tonight again, which I think is awesome that it's not just some boring seven thirty eight o'clock seven thirty seven tonight again. Over fifteen thousand dollars in the grand price so far, but it's going to be more than that because people are buying tickets right now. If you would like to get a ticket, so OSD dot org. Correct, and I'm going to throw a link on our Facebook page as well. Jill Izzy, thank you guys for coming in.

Speaker 2

Yes, thank you having us again.
