Jason Moras. Yeah,
a Grammy winning singer songwriter, Jason Moras. And we also have joining us as well, Finnian makes Peace, co founder and chief strategy officer for Kiss the Ground. We're gonna start with Jason Rass. Tell me a little bit about this event that you're part of on Earth Day and how you got involved in this.
Thank you so much. Well as a musician, well, first of all, I grew up adjacent to farm I'm aware that farms exist, and as a touring musician, I was able to see them coast to coast, and I started to work with Farm Aid and found myself living on a little ranch out in San Diego and realize, you know, these practices that I can get involved with, that I can apply of my own soil and ultimately hopefully reach out to other farmers on my path, and you know
that includes backyard gardeners. You know, we all touch the earth in some way, even if we're not the ones doing the physical farming. To me, you know, I saw it as this opportunity to mitigate climate change. You know, we have to build resilience in the face of this ever changing climate. And then for the past one hundred years, we've been treating our soils somewhat poorly by pouring chemicals
all over them and depleting our topsoil. So regenerative agriculture helps us restore carbon from the atmosphere, rebuild the water in our systems, rebuild our nutrient cycles, enhances the soil health, the air quality, to biodiversities, the equality of our food,
and the economic out comes to the farmer. So it was a movement that I just that I have to celebrate because we are seeing some victories, and those victories can be seen in the films that are coming out on Earth Day on Amazon, Kiss the Ground and the follow up film, Comedy Ground, which is a feel good Birthday watch, and it shows you the real traction that this movement has been getting and the practices that are happening from coast to coast. I think it is a really inspiring story.
Very nice and again Finnian makes Peace joining us as well a co founder and chief strategy officer for Kiss the Ground. And I got to say, I think Jason ras did a pretty good job a teen it up for you. But let's add a little more about what you guys have going on.
Yeah, perfect, Yes, it's really exciting. So this movement is seeing such momentum around the world. Jason and I got involved with this thirteen years ago and he was a big part of our journey into this, the co found Kiss the Ground and move it forward and contribute with his songs but also his work on his farm for regenerat agriculture. But it's truly amazing when we talk about the droughts, the floods, the fires, our soil is such
a big part of why that happened. Our soil is degraded and depleted and a lot of it is almost dead. So we have an opportunity to rebuild our soil, bring it back to life through regenerative agriculture. And this is Jas said. It's scaleable for ranches that are twenty thousand acres or row crops that are seven thousand acres, or backyard gardens or three acre farms, whatever it might be.
The practices and principles of our gender of agriculture are universal, so people can apply them and watch in amazement as their land heals and all of a sudden there's the questern carbon in the process for bringing back by a diversity. In the process, they're staving money in the process, especially as farmers are so important, So this is really incredible. Crispoground dot com is where a lot of people go
to find more education about this. That's a nonprofit that's behind the film, the impact partner, but also the inspiration behind these films. We worked at the directors Josh and Rebecca to keel and make these incredible films, and Amazon were so grateful for them for hosting us.
