They mailed this and they said, hey, please share this with your listeners on your community calendar. So here it is. I don't really have a community calendar, so but this is coming up on the twenty thirty September and it's in Crooks, South Dakota at the West Nadero's Lutheran Church. And I hope I said that right three miles north one mile east of
Crooks. They're having a bake sale at a craft fair and a farmer's market and they've got on the menu. This sounds really good. I'm gonna have to talk Heidi and to come up with me to this. Roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, salad, desserts, oh Norwegian goodies. Adults fifteen bucks. Anyway. It says it's handicap accessible and carry outs available. Money is for camper ships and other mission projects. It's a harvest festival
supper. Everybody's welcome. You don't have to go to this church Saturday, September the twenty third, four thirty, six thirty pm. It's on a Saturday evening and again just outside of Crook, South Dakota. If you have questions on that, reach out to me. This was sent to me, Like I said in the mail mail. And next weekend, next Saturday, we're gonna have a partey Fat Kid Pullooza. Yeah, that's right on September ninth. Kind of a birthday party celebration for myself. That's gonna be really cool. Now, this is the first annual Fat Kid Peloza, and it's gonna be in Harrisburg at the Bunker, Isn't right? That's correct,
Bunker Bar in Harrisburg, South Dakota. And let's talk about because there's a band, there's music, there's food, there's fun, there's all kinds of stuff. But let's kind of break it down. So the music, let's start there. Yeah. So the music that we decided to bring in is just a band that I really got to know from my hometown a little bit and I love him. It's the Colin Donley Band. Nice and I've heard good things, so that's exciting. Yeah, a little country rock type music.
And then let's talk about food because we've got a variety of food options as well, don't we we do. I got two food trucks coming out. And then as far as fun, there's gonna be a lot of fun stuff to do, isn't there? There is? We got a free ride in bike show that I'll have a first, second, third and people's choice trophies going out. We also have a silent auction where one hundred percent of
the proceeds are going to go to Almost Home Canine Rescue. I love that if somebody would like to go. What does it cost to go to fat Kid Polluting next Saturday? Absolutely nothing. This is free to the public. Anyone can show up. It's from seven to eleven on September ninth. We will have a freewill donation box out so that funds can be gathered for the second annual next year. Again, it's coming up next Saturday, September the
ninth. And let's talk about where it's located. If they're not familiar with the Bunker Bar, how do you find that in Harrisburg? The best way to do it, I'd say probably just be Google at muntr maps get there, but it'll probably be pretty easy to find. It's kind of off the main drag right in Harrisburg. You won't be able to mess up. We plan on having a bunch of motorcycles out there, so just look look for
the bikes and listen for the music. Absolutely, and again it's all coming up next week and then I'm going to throw a link to the event on Facebook so if people want to know more, and you guys kind of been keeping that all updated so they can they can see what's happening and where it's
happening, all the fun stuff there as well. Right, absolutely, So we're going to have it on all of our social media as well and sharing throughout the motorcycle and music community so that everyone can be reminded when and where it's at. So get out and join us. It's coming up here on September ninth. And you can't do this without sponsors, because you get some
pretty cool sponsors helping out, don't you. We do. I wanted to take just a second and make sure I said thank you to our sponsors at Janel Harley Davidson, Big Shoe, Power Sports obviously, the Bunker Bar and Fat Kid Phillies, Fat Kid Pizza and Fat Kid Concessions. Time now for this day in Sioux Falls History, brought to you by the Sioux Falls Fund Page, West Sioux Studios and Sunny ninety three point three. It was on this day August twenty ninth, nineteen seventy six, President Jerald Ford made a visit to Sioux Falls during his campaign to be reelected later that year. President Ford owned the distinction of being the only US president to have
never won an election. Four years earlier, Richard Nixon had been elected to his second term as president, along with his running mate, Vice President Spiro Agnew. However, in nineteen seventy three, Agnew would become just the second vice president and US history to resign his office. Nixon appointed Jerald Ford AS's new vice president. It was confirmed by Congress December of nineteen seventy three, so he became vice president without ever appearing on an election ballot. Then,
about eight months later, Richard Nixon would resign as president. For the first time ever in American history, we had a president who had not received a single vote. As a side note, Ford appointed Nelson Rockefeller as his vice president, and Rockefeller was a third man to hold the position of vice president in less than twelve months. So in nineteen seventy six, Jerald Ford was eager to win an election on his own merits and uphold his position with the
confidence of the American people behind him. With that desire, he campaigned hard all across the country, including in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Unfortunately for him, it would all be in vain. The scar left in the heart of the people of the USA from the impeachment of President Nixon and the circus of Watergate left no room to elect another Republican president. Rather than give Gerald Ford the chance to lead on his own terms. Americans picked the peanut Farmer
from Georgia President Jimmy Carter. This day in Sioux Falls History has been brought to you by the Sioux Falls Fund Page, West Sioux Studios, and Sonny three point three?
