Super excited a visit right now with Jordan Deffenbaugh with the CRC, the Community Revitalization Collective, And you guys have been busy, busy, busy. I've got some stuff coming up on the twenty sixth and twenty seven, that's this Wednesday and Thursday, Sioux Falls Urban Food Forum. Tell me a little bit about this event. Well, we all love food. I love food. Oh

yeah, I love food with all my heart and my stomach. And so I've been in the food industry for somewhere around five years, working in backup house. I've worked at places like Brendan Circus and Pizza Cheeks, and then I've also helped with events like the First Groups Harvest Festival last year. We've had nine hundred people nothing but locally sourced vegin protein. And I felt, and a group of us felt with the CRC that we needed to be talking

about food. But as it pertained to the core of Soup Falls, what we talk about agriculture a lot in the like sort of the broader context of South Dakota, but not a lot in terms of like in the city limits. And so I talked with Eric Weber with the Union Gospel Mission and explored, great, dude, awesome Eric, doing great work. You need anyone who's listening check out the Union Gospel Mission on social media. They have twenty

six transitional apartments that are being built right now. Super great stuff. Well one thing. One another thing that we're working on is what if there was a food hub in the Gospel Mission. And it's an idea that we've been percolating for years now and we're steadily getting closer to the idea of becoming reality. And so what we're thinking is like, how do we connect with local producers, gardeners, anyone who makes food in the area and create a resource

hub for them to access at the mission. This would then also be a place where that food could be gleaned and put into meals for folks in the wind your neighborhood, out of folks that are engaging with the different food resources on the street, and create opportunity to train residents of the shelter in different culinary art forms and processing technique. I love that and so yeah, it's just to get people connected. And this is coming up this week. It's

this Wednesday and Thursday, July twenty six and twenty seven. It's at the Union Gospel Mission, seven h five East Eighth Street, sessions at nine am and two pm. If people would like to learn more, I see the website MYCRC dot org. Do they need to register in advance? To do this or do they just show up that day. They just show up that day, We'll have plenty of capacity. We'll also have a Citizen Taco meetup on Wednesday for lunch, so if you want to grab lunch, there will

be free lunch on that day. It's this forum model, too, is a it's an open forum, but we use this little thing called open space. And what that is is we create our agenda that day, so whatever happens, it's all based on who shows up. And so I'll facilitate this and basically allow for multiple conversations to happen. And the big thing here is how do we develop the connections that need to happen. How do we cross

pollinate as quickly as possible. And we're doing four sessions because farmers are busy, restaurant tiers are busy, everyone who deals with food right now in this city this season is so busy. So we wanted to make sure that we had as many sessions as we could so that we could talk with as many people as we could. And if you wanted to come to all four, if someone need to come to both days all four sessions, they're more than

welcome to because they'll be planning to learn. I love that that's coming up Wednesday and Thursday of this week July twenty six and twenty seven, and this weekend, this Sunday, July thirtieth, you've got the CRC Barbecue Party host up by the CRC and this is kind of out behind the Tool Library. If folks would like to join you for that, I tell me a little more about what's happening and what they need to do to join you there.

Well, I mean it's a barbecue, So show up first and foremost, enjoy some burghers, enjoy some dogs, and then comte Commune with the folks, Commune with anyone who's back there. We're inviting residents of the Whittier Neighborhood as well as soup balls at large, and folks can kind of get a sense of like what we're up to in the neighborhood. And really what we're trying to do is we're trying to build a deeper sense of community, a

deeper sense of identity in the Whittier neighborhood. I live in the Whittier neighborhood. I live just off Cliff and there's a lot of really wonderful wonder things happening in Whittier that I don't think people are aware of. And I think that we're trying to lift up those things, lift up those people, create community projects, and see where folks can work together and see where we can start to get our strength connected with each other. And I think the key

is to feed people first and foremost. There you go and then and then and then build community. So it is, it's behind the CRC space is behind nine to one East eighth. Um, little patio area back there. It's free food. If folks wanted to bring a dish, I'm open to that as well. We can make a potlock style UM. So yeah, I love That's kind of the gist. Very cool. So tomorrow Citizen Taco. Also tomorrow Sue Falls Food Urban Food Forum. That's Wednesday and Thursday,

and then this Sunday, July thirtieth, the barbecue. All of the sales at MYCRC dot org. Again my CRC dot org. Here's your market beat minute for Tuesday, July twenty fifth, brought to you by Genese Gooldia dot com. Equity markets move higher Monday to put the SMP five hundred at its highest closing level in over

a year. The move was driven by a lack of news more than anything else, as the market takes a breath in wait for what's to come this week. On the earnings front, the market expects reports for nearly two hundred of the SMP five hundred companies, making this the busiest week of the reporting cycle reports from Microsoft to Coca Cola Company or due out and we'll give more

evidence on what to expect from the second half of the year. On the economic front, the market is waiting for the Fed's next move and the most recent data on inflation. The FED meets on Tuesday and Wednesday, and they're expect at the high rates by another twenty five basis points. The question is what they do next, and the answer may come Friday. The PC index is due Friday and is expected to moderate. If the index is cooler than expected, it could lead the market to new highs. If not, the

threat of the foomc rate hikes will linger and way on the market. You can get the inside track at marketbminute dot com. Why did the Chicken cross the road to save money on insurance?
