Excited to talk right now about a really cool event that's happening tonight in two falls at Lake Lorraine. The Longest Day is an event to kind of help with awareness about Alzheimer's and I have on the line with me right now, Amy Smolick, and she is a Lake Lorane community director. First of all, thank you

guys for doing what you're doing. How long have you been doing Is this the second or third year you've done this? This is actually the second year that we have done this out at Lake Lorraine. But the Alzheimer's Association has done this event nationwide for that exact reason, to create more awareness about what the services that they can provide, and also just to honor those cheergivers as well as those battles that it sees. And the events kind of kick off

at six pm and it goes until about nine pm. Is that right? That is correct. So we are really excited to just kind of have a fun evening out at the lake. So if people are wanting to join us, do they need to do something in advance or do they just show up tonight. It is a free event, no prior registration required. We just encourage people to come out. If you want to bring your chairs or your blankets. We've got plenty of grassy areas to sit out. We live music,

we have a couple of food trucks. We're doing some yard games, and again the focus is on the Alzheimer's Association and the work that they do, So we are doing some fundraising, but it's all free will donations.

And one of the coolest things we're doing John, which this was just really impactful last year, was we have luminary that people can decorate and then we will do a memory stroll around our lake walk, so its all the way around Lake Lorraine and it's approximately a mile And when we get done, we'll place those luminaries around the lake walk and light them. And just seeing that light up, recognizing those who perhaps have lost the battle to the disease or

honoring those caregivers. It's just a beautiful sight and incredibly impactful on how many lives the disease of Alzheimer's has touched absolutely, and that's something that's affected my family, both grandmothers on my mom's side and my dad's side. So this is something that hits very very close to home for me. So again, thank you for doing what you guys are doing. If somebody would like to join us tonight at Lake Lorraine, where is the best place to park?

Where is the best place to go? If you were going to direct them and say, you know, this is probably the best place to do this. Yeah, So the longest say event is on the west side of the lake, So that is for those who going to north southeast west close to the Marion Road entrance. So Cars for Sale is a large building around the lake. We're going to be just south of that building. There is parking on the street there as well as those office buildings that are close by.

Real easy walk to just get up to the lake itself. We'll be going at six o'clock and ending right around dusk. Also tonight, we do have our weekly farmers market as well, so if you wanted to pick up those luminaries before the Longest Day event, you could certainly stop over and see us at the market beforehand, which is on the east side of the lake. So busy, busy day today out at Lake Lorraine. Very nice. What

time does the farmers market start today? The market runs from four to seven, so we've got a little bit of an overlap, but again it's a great opportunity to come out with local vendors there and then swing over to the other side of the lake and take part in that free, fun Longest Day event with games and music and just a great evening to sit outside and the market four to seven today, but that's every Thursday, so if they don't make it today and they are, they can make that any Thursday. That's

really really cool that you guys do that. Again, thank you for doing what you do. We appreciate all that you guys are doing at Lake Lorraine's. That's a part of town. If you think about this, even ten years ago, there was really nothing there and then just over the last decade or so, we've been seeing things grow and grow and grow, and it's amazing to see how much amazing stuff has come to this part of Sue Fall. So thank you, you are welcome. Thank you, and again,

tonight is the night. It's the longest day event and it's an Alzheimer's Associate Asian fundraiser. It is a free event, but when you come bring some money, seek and make a donation, that would be wonderful. Again, it starts at six pm, goes till nine pm, and if you want to get there a little early and go to the farmer's market, that's cool as well. I've got a link to all of the information at Facebook dot com slash Sunny Radio and Facebook dot com slash Sue Falls News. We hope

to see it at night. Gooldira dot com. Equity markets did and about face Wednesday, rising in early trading, then falling after the FOMC announced more interest rate hikes were coming. The FOMC paused in June holding rate steady, but indicated inflation was not tamed and that two more should be expected. The news sent the odds of the

CMEs fedwatch tool rocketing higher, indicating a significant outlook shift. The takeaway is that interest rate cuts should not be expected in twenty twenty three without significant decline in inflation. Action in the SMP five hundred was mixed. The index moved up, down, and sideways during the session. The implications for stocks are negative. Rising rates are cutting into demand, which is capping the outlook for earnings. The market closed with a small gain for the day, signifying significant

uncertainty. The market may move higher from here, but it is climbing a wall of warri and headed toward a ceiling put in place by the Fed.
