I'm excited to meet you in Sioux Falls for Snowjam. Have

you been to South Dakota before? Uh? Never have been heard lots about it, but no. I come from California, so I'm used to warm weather and not being buried in snow. Yeah. Well, we're gonna get a little bit of snow, a little bit of cold. It's January. That kind of happens around here. But you know, the thing that's nice

as we stay inside. All the comedy shows are indoors, so that's nice and good, and you'll get a chance to kind of feel like, do you ever watch like the Christmas movies on Hallmark or any of that and you see the snow and all the cold. You get to experience that for real. Yeah, yeah, it'll be great. It'll be like my rom com dreams. There you go, it's gonna be fun. So how long have you been performing stand up comedy? You know, I'm relatively new to stand

up. I started two years ago in San Francisco and I got bit by the comedy bug, got obsessed with it, and now it's all I do. I love that. That's very very cool and the comedy that you do. Are is there anybody that you get compared to? Like people say, oh, hey, you kind of remind me of so and so, you

know, I feel like people have said that. I don't know exactly what it would be, but I definitely the comedians I watched them though, so probably Ney Bargatzi Anthony jessel Nick. I like dry humor, and I pull a lot kind of from those kind of comics, but I kind of put my own twist on it. But I would say that kind of cadence and dryness is definitely present in my stand up. I love that. I'm excited to see you. I have not had a chance to see you yet,

so I will see you at Snowjam Comedy Festival again. It's January eighteenth, nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty first, So for folks who would like to get tickets, there's still some tickets left. But here's the thing. The longer you wait, the chance is they are going to sell out, because they always do. Every year we sell out several of the shows. So if you want to get tickets for the whole weekend, now is the time to do that. And do you know which shows you're performing in yet?

Greg, Yes, I'll be performing on the eighteenth and nineteenth. I think I forget the names of the venues, but both of those first two days you should see me, and yeah, come out a good time. Will you be sticking around the whole weekend to see everybody else as well? Yeh? I'll be sticking out through Saturday, so come find me. We can, we can chat, we can hang out. Well, the thing that's cool And I had somebody in one of the other interviews tell me this is

kind of like going to camp. This says like comedy camp because of all the other comics. You guys get to meet each other and you'll make some great connections. And I look forward to chatting with you while you're here. But again, thank you so much for taking the time. We were gonna chat the other day and then I goofed up and called at the wrong time. So thank you for being so easy to work with and I appreciate you taking the time to chat. Yeah, no worries. I mean, comedians

are known for being flexible. That's good. That's very good. Again, Greg Capra one of the very funny comics. He'll be at Snowjamcomedy Festival. It's January eighteenth, nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty first. It's the final year of Snowjam, so if you've not been yet, get out this year. Check it out. Snowjamcomedyfest dot com. Time out for back to the Basics and healthcare with Balance Life Chiropractic,

and we have doctor Harley joining us. Hey doing doctor Harley, Hey John, I'm doing fantastic and unfortunately had another round of like winter, but that makes things kind of slippery, and this time of year is probably a busy time of year for you because people will slip and fall and things will get kind of out of whack, won't they. Yeah, I'm definitely seeing a lot more winter related aches and pains. A lot of it was due to all the shoveling snow. You know, it's hard to shovel a couple and

just let alone a foot of snow. And like I said, now that it's melting, it's starting to freeze. At night. So people, you know, when they come home from work or when they're going to work, are slipping and sliding. Maybe hopefully they're not falling, but if they do, let's talk about some tips that they can do to either help prevent those falls or what they can do after the fact. So let's start with the prevent because if we could prevent a fall, that's always best. And how

can you prevent a fall? A lot of people say, like, walk like a penguin, so you're not taking your normal step, but kind of shuffling a little bit, especially where it's really really slick out. They're used to walking on ice. Those penguins right right, you can put like basically, they're like traction things that you can put on the bottom of your shoe.

So if you're doing a lot of walking, especially in an area that's really icy or snowpacked, having that extra tread will help prevent some of those falls. You know, try to trying to avoid some of those dress shoes

that have really smooth bottoms. I was actually just talking with a patient earlier that was wearing kind of more smooth bottomed dress shoes, like those are going to be very slick out, be careful when you're walking around, and I suppose putting some like some salt down to make it so the ice breaks out,

that probably wouldn't hurt either. Whenever, that's definitely the first thing if you know it's gonna be icy, make sure that you're salting your sidewalks really well, because that salt helps to melt even when it's really really cold. And there's some gas stations they have bags of it for free, right about the pumps. Just oh that's not free, No, it's not. Don't take those. They sell them inside, pay for them and then yeah,

right, no, but it is. It is a good idea, and it's not an expensive thing to get, and that if it prevents you from following, what a great thing to do. Definitely, Now what happens if somebody already slipped and they already fell, and now they're going, oh, I'm sore here and I'm sore there, what kind of things can they do? Right? Definitely, you know, take the stock of yourself, like is it serious enough where you need to go to like urgent care or something

like if you see a bone poking out, that's more. If you have a bone pulling out, that's definitely more emergency. But if you have a very sore a pain that you might think you might have broke but don't know for sure, that's more definitely an urgent care call. Unless you absolutely can't

walk, then maybe more he are. But and if at all, you know, if they're just kind of sore and achy from that, I chiropractically be a good way to come in and kind of get things snapped back into place too, definitely, because you know the area that you fell on is going to be sore, achy, but that jolt is going to be causing issues throughout the rest of your body that can cost some of that ache and

paint and things are stuck. No, they're not moving, So then when you are trying to get active and do things, you're getting more painful or you're having injuries because things are having to work harder than other areas of the body. So I said, you haven't seeing a lot more like low back

type issues lately between the snow moving and the slips and falls. As a chiropractor, we're gonna help realign your spine, getting things moving better, helping to you know, improve that ache and pain, but also help prevent it in the future. That's one of the biggest thing people have noticed with starting

chiropractic care is recovery time. You know, after an injury or a weekend warrior project or shoveling lots of snow, they're not as achy or sore the next day, which definitely is great because you know, you always kind of dread a big thing. You're like, oh, I don't wall the snow. I'm gonna hurt so bad tomorrow. But then it's always nice being surprised. You're like, oh, I feel good. Is bad? Right?

I'm not a sore No, I can relate to that. So I'm a big fan of Balanced Life Chiropractic. For other folks who maybe haven't had a chance to join you guys here yet, how do they get a hold of you? point three. It was on this day, January tenth, nineteen seventy four, two sux Falls political juggernauts became public enemies in the race for the Democratic nomination for governor of South Dakota. Richard Kanipe was the incumbent governor running for his third term, and William Doherty, who had been Governor Kannipe's lieutenant governor up until this point, announced that he was challenging his boss in the Democratic

primaries. Both young men had visions of the Democratic Party growing and taking hold in South Dakota. And while Knnipe was known for his folksy one to one campaigning, Doherty, who had worked on the JFK and RFK presidential campaigns just a few years before, wanted to take the state by storm. In the end, Knnipe would become the first governor to serve three terms in South Dakota history along with his new Lieutenant Governor Roger Woolman, and Doherty would become a

top lobbyist in peer. This day in Seux Falls History has been brought to you by the Sioux Falls Fund, Page, West Sioux Studios and Sonny ninety three point three. Invite your friends and family over to make memories with a fun game night. Very Special games dot com has five fun games that will
