Marianne R. Klein aka Marika Roth was born in Budapest, Hungary. Following WWII, she lived in Paris, France until she moved to Montreal, Canada. She studied creative writing and psychology at Sir George Williams University in Montreal. Later, she further extended her studies in art and was a student at the School of Fine Arts.
During her time spent in Toronto, Canada, she graduated as a fashion model at the Walter Thornton Modeling School and later pursued her career as a fashion model with the Constance Brown Agency in Montreal. Following her move to Los Angeles, California, she continued her writing studies first at Beverly Hills High, then at UCLA, where she studied under Sy Gomberg (a Writer’s Guild member). She has been a member of several independent writer’s groups in Los Angeles, was a member of Women in Film and studied at the Writer’s Boot Camp.
Marianne has written poems, children’s stories, and screenplays, as well as novels. Her award-winning memoir “All the Pretty Shoes,” published under the name of Marika Roth, has been internationally recognized, nominated for an Audio Book Award, and was chosen as a finalist at the Book of the Year Club. Additionally, she has two published novels, both romantic dramas based on semi-fiction entitled: “A Gambler’s Journey” and “Lady Kelton’s Secrets.” In addition to the novels, she has written a short story: “Farewell Paris.”
