The case captured attention of celebrities, lawmakers and other public figures, and has drawn particular outrage from women in the military and Latinos The family raised allegations that before she was killed she had been sexually harassed and Activists expressed their anger at the lack of answers and action from the military and called for systematic changes in how the military handles reports of sexual harassment and assault.
