These cult classics built his reputation and gave him some box office clout with studios, but he became next-level with Titanic. It took years to film and went millions of dollars over budget. The film became the joke of the town in Hollywood, and everyone waited for its release as if watching a train about to wreck. But it was a hit. And then guess what? He did it all over again with Avatar. He’s a brilliant inventor and philanthropist, and he just churns out hit after hit.
