S2E8: Saved from a life of ritualised sexual slavery

In this episode, we sat down with a young school teacher working at the very school she was sent to as a little girl. When she was 12 years old, her parents planned to dedicate her as a Jogini.
Jogini girls, are young girls that are dedicated to the goddess Yellamma and forced into a life of sexual servitude, where any man in the village can use them whenever they want, wherever they want and for no money. Fortunately, Dignity Freedom Network was able to work with her parents, and help them see that there were other options for their daughter. Dignity Freedom Network have helped stop hundreds of young girls from being dedicated, and have given hundreds of Dalit children (and children of Joginis) an opportunity to have a brighter future, free from sexual slavery.
