Speaker 1

It's a Tuesday, so it's Tuesday thoughts here on SDH on sdham Man, my hair is all over the place.

Speaker 2

I cannot explain it.

Speaker 1

I do not get it all right now that that's at least temporarily fixed. John here you there, Thanks for dropping by on a Tuesday. It is a it's another wall to wall week here. We'll lay down the weekend, what to expect and what to possibly anticipate as we go here. It's the last week of the regular season in high school and we'll go over our rundown there soccers and sessions. Tomorrow at noon, we'll catch up with Aaron Paul, the head coach at Morgan County and find

out what's going going on out there. He just cleared a milestone being a part of the program out there, so we'll catch up with him. A couple of other coaches that we've got on our radar. We'll see how many of them can join us here at noon tomorrow as soccer is in session. So last night we were indicator for non region match up Saint Pious Indicator. It was great to be able to catch up with our friends on both of those fronts last night as well.

So it was wins across the board, so it was kind of a split night and it was once again interesting across the board. Great comebacks were in the women's match and it was a dominating performance in the men's match. So, uh, today we have a late ad. So I tell you what, Let me go ahead and do this. It's been a while since I hit this. It's just ached. It's scheduling. It's not news, it's just.

Speaker 2

Man.

Speaker 1

That's loud. That's just loud, period. All right, So your scheduling update. We have a late ad to the schedule and it is we're going to Lassiter tonight. So we're going to the Frank Frank Filman Stadium on the campus Elastid High School, Kennesaw Mountain Lassiter five thirty and eight Senior night for the Trojans, and so it'll be Mustangs and Trojans at five thirty. I'll have the girls called Jason Lem the boys call at eight o'clock ish or so,

depending on pomp and circumstance. But right now it's looking like it's five thirty and eight. So that'll be on the network Soccer down here at mixler dot com. It's on the Mixler app and it is our first visit in our time of doing matches that we've had the chance to go to lastar. So it is once again Senior Night, Kennesaw Mountain at Lassiter five thirty for the girls, eight o'clock for the boys, and we'll have that for

you on the network. That's the late ad yesterday, like literally we were on the air for the matchups with decaterin Pious. Jason shows me ax on his phone. We're good to go, so we're heading to the Frank. So once again soccer down here dot mixlore dot com and you can catch it either on the mix or app.

You can go to soccer down here dot mixlore dot com if you like just web browsing and doing it that way, or you go to soccer down here dot net and what you can do there at soccer down here dot mixler dot net, soccer down here dot net, sorry, just a website, soccer down here dot net. You'll go to the listen tab and then when there's usually a live event going on, there's a big old beacon of a bright light that's flashing. You hit listen and then it'll show you where to go. And then that's what's

happening tonight. So once again, can I so I'm out and lasted or laid out of the schedule here in the last week of the regular season as always presented by our friends at Kaiser Permanente, and we'll be there for that one tonight. We'll be there for that doubleheader. Now, also on the board lay out the rest of the week for you, we'll go ahead and do that. So

today is kind of a recappy day. Anything that we might have missed when it comes to the weekend, I know we've got to talk about the rest of Major League Soccer. We've got to talk about Premier League, we've got to talk about Champions League. We've got to talk about the Club World Cup. That was a visit yesterday. We've got a bit of a sound bontage that includes Mayor Andre Dickens. It is Tim Zelawski from AMBSSE. You'll hear the voice of Mike Contie and also Johnny Infantino,

who was here yesterday. You'll hear from You'll hear from all of those folks later on in the show. It was a presentation at Mercedes been Stadium that happened late yesterday afternoon. Also it is Tomorrow is normal when it comes to our guests Tyler at nine to fifteen. Tyler Pilgrim from Scars and Spikes from the Atlanta United Informational Journalistic Exchange Program. He's going to come in at nine

to fifteen. Dylan Butler's going to join us at ten o'clock and we'll get his views about what's going on in Major League Soccer from the week that was heading into the weekend that will be. And then tomorrow, once again, soccer's in session is at noon, so we'll take the tour around the state gets you ready for the playoffs.

Speaker 2

Thursday, the Power Hour is the Power Hour.

Speaker 1

Nino and Nico are going to join us at ten o'clock and at ten thirty to go down what's going on around the world in thirty minutes and then get nino'spective, Nico's perspective of going from the Pacific time zone and the Western Conference, will get his thoughts on everything going on in MLS out west and we'll get that and we'll bring him east with all of the thoughts that

we have going on there. And then Thursday, Maddie and I will be at the Moxie Hotel in Midtown for our first ever event when it comes to our third Thursdays, and it's going to be about the Atlanta United game day experience. So we recommend, wholly recommend that you be there because apparently we have special guests. I don't know who they are, that's how special there. So I'm intrigued as to who is going to be talking about the game day experience. I have an idea as to whom

one of them may be. So we'll find out what's going on there with all of that, and we'll be at the Moxie. Midtown starts at seven, I belive, so we'll be there a little early just to kind of hang out, and so we'll be there for a little bit to kind of see what's going on there at the Moxie and get a bit of a learned experience about the game day experience for Atlanta Night. That'll be on Thursday night. Jason will be in Dalton, Southeast Whitfield

and Dalton. That'll be on the network. So we'll be live at the Moxie for our first third Thursday event and Jason will be on the network at Soccer down Here dot mixler dot com and on the Mixler app and on the dot net to give you South Southeast Whitfield and Dalton a big rivalry there and it will be very very it'll be a heated rivalry up there at Chapel. Harmon and Jason will be up there for that.

On Thursday Friday, hopefully we can catch up with our friends at Beyond Goals Entering that's always at nine thirty on the Friday free kick and we'll see if Messrs Parkhurst and or Garza aren't traveling the planet and we can catch up with them about what life is like as a mentor and find out what it's like having about two hundred and fifty men tees that they get to influence on a daily basis. So very very cool stuff there, and it is also what you're looking at

from a programming perspective. It's the hour of chaos. In the second hour, we get you ready for the weekend. We are efforting at some point this week Dave Lena the play by play voice at Philadelphia Union, as we always do in the transitions, and then we'll we'll get to the Philadelphia Union education from Dave at some point.

He's got kids on spring break, so we're going to be trying to catch up with David at some point when the world has calmed down to a dull roar and we can catch up with him and find out about what's going on with Philadelphia. Then the matchup for your Friday night while Jason's on his way to Philadelphia. Philadelphia is stars Mill and Macintosh. We're going to be heading down to Peachtree City and it is the Battle

for the Troops and that is stars Mill McIntosh. Once again, this is rivalry week, So we get Southeast Whitfield and Dalton on Thursday, we go Stars Mill and Macintosh on the network. Mandy and I'll be down there for those on Friday, and that'll get you ready for the weekend with Atlanta United taking on Philadelphia Philadelphia on Saturday, and then we can get Rich's opinions about what happened with Daniel Gozdog and all of that. So that's the rundown

for the week that we have here at SDH. So, as always, it's a packed week this time of year.

Speaker 2

It's a packed week every week. Who am I kidding?

Speaker 1

But it's a packed week as we go, and that's the rundown from the news and Information and guests and things that we have for the remainder of the weekend on the live programming that we have going on. For those of you who are looking public service announcement for those of you who are looking for the replays from last night Saint Louis and Decatur matchups. We've done so many games we have to clear out some space in

our archive. So when that gets cleared out, then we can clear out some space and then we can we'll add we'll do that as a part of my laundry list today of things to do, clear out the archive, and so they'll be uh so it'll be a little bit, it'll be this afternoon, but we'll get it all figured out. Then you can go back and listen to the Saint Pious and Decatur matches from yesterday and we'll get you

ready for the matchups today. Once again, remember laid Ad, it is Kennesaw Mountain at Lassiter five thirty and eight Senior Day for the Trojans at last and so we'll have those matches for you on the network here later today. And so, like I said, it's me and Jason on those matchups, but we'll be up at the Frank for the first time in our program history. So all right, opening Kickoff brought to us buy our friends at Kickoff Coffee and Kickoff Coffeeco dot Com.

Speaker 2

If I can remember, what did I do with it? What did I do with it? Design?

Speaker 1

There we go, design, and there's your QR code for those of you who are hanging out with us, however you are doing, so you hit that QR code, you kick off your day with Kickoff Coffee and Kickoff Coffeeco dot Com. Don't forget that you can use the code soccer down here fifteen. You get fifteen percent off your purchase. They in turn take ten percent reinvested into the youth games, youth initiatives brought to by our friends at Kickoff Coffee

and Kickoff Coffeeco dot Com. So with all of that, let's get into all the promos and what's on your mind from what might have disappeared through the stacks when it came to Atlanta United Major League Soccer. Literally, anything's on your mind this morning, that's what we're here for.

That's what Tuesday thoughts are all about. We're mopping up what happened from the weekend, any other last thoughts, because yesterday I know, it was a very very heated conversation that we had about Atlanta, United State of Affairs, on the field, off the field, all of that. And as I referenced yesterday, I told you that I was going

to reach out to PRO, and we did so. We reached out to PRO and there is a distinct possibility that to discuss the review process, to discuss what it takes to be a center ref or an ar to find out what the review process is internally and externally when it comes to a senior officials and how they

are graded and how they're viewed upon their performance. Next week, it looks like we might be having someone on the show, whether it's on tape or live, but it's looking like next week we're going to have someone on the show from PRO to discuss what their parameters are. So at least we can have a gauge going forward as to what it takes. What's the review process. Is it something that's done daily annually? Is it done by match week?

Is it something that is a corrective process where after X number of weeks and demerits and however, you know, do you have some kind of a review Is there are there reassignments all those questions that we have when it comes to PRO. It looks like next week we're going to have somebody on from PRO either on tape hopefully live, but on tape worst case, and that we can kind of analyze what's going on when it comes

to PRO because of the inconsistencies that we see. So that'll be next week, and hopefully this time next week we'll be having some Q and A with our friends from PRO when we can find out what the heck's going on. All right, run through the promos for you on the other side of this door once again, it's our friends from the Marshall Island Soccer Federation.

Speaker 2

You can pick up the scarves here.

Speaker 1

You want to buy all the Marshall Islands gear there about Actually, let's find out now that we're here Kickstarter. We'll go to the Kickstarter project because what they're trying to do is have their first ever international soccer matches at John Brown University in Northwestern Arkansas in mid August. Right now, with about a month to go, they are about a third in, so they're at just under eight thousand US for the goal of just over twenty six

thousand dollars. So if it is something that you are inclined or if you who know folks that might want to help out on the Kickstarter project, here's where you go. And I'm going to go ahead and dial this up just so everybody has it. So there is the rundown for the Marshall Islands at your Kickstarter at your Kickstarter campaign for the Marshall Islands hopefully having their first matches against another couple of nations in the Outrigger Challenge Cup

slated for mid August in northwestern Arkansas. Yes, we'll be there. And right now the Kickstarter campaigns just under eight grand, as they're looking for just over twenty six grand. So if this is something that you are compelled as a cause, then you can help out with the Kickstarter project right there and you can really make things happen for the Marshall Island Soccer Federation as they continue to grow, as they are the last nation on the planet that is

developing a national soccer program. So that's where we are with the Marshall Islands, Morning Rich. So it's going to be interesting with all of that.

Speaker 2

Rich.

Speaker 1

Just to let you know, as a public service, we're efforting Dave Leno this week and we'll have him on at some point to discuss what's going on in Philadelphia. Now Rich with his update, all right, So, and this comes from our buddy Jose Roberto Nunez. And this comes it's about an hour old, so a news for news for anyone who is a fan of Major League Soccer. And so from Jose Nunez. Andre Blake could miss two

MLS matches at the end of May. Jacob Jamaica is set to compete in the Unity Cup, a four nation cup held outside the window. Four nation tournament held outside the window, week long celebration of interconnected culture, food, music, comedy anchored around elite footballing talents from our home nations Gone and Nigeria, T and T and Jamaica May eight and thirty one. So Andre Blake could be out at the end of May because the tournament, according to Nunaz,

falls outside FIFA's international Window. Unclear whether non European based players like Blake would be released. Most European leagues will have ended. Blake would miss Philadelphia matches and it's a quick turn because it's a midweek weekend Toronto and Dallas. If he joins a national team, So keep an eye on that. If you are a fan of Philadelphia and possibly Toronto and Dallas in late May, to keep an eye on possibly the fact that Andrea Blake may not

be there, may not be there, so we'll see. But yeah, Rich, what we try to do, and Dave's Rich is a fan of us getting Dave. But what we're trying to do this year is we are trying to get the opposing team for at Lane United somewhere somewhere in the week, somewhere in the week if we can swing it to where we can have an opposing voice. So it's almost like a previewy kind of thing where we have them on and we've had it with some folks so far this season, and then as they come in, they drift

in and drift out. If they have anything that they want to say in Hour number two in the Hour of Chaos on Friday, they can drift in, say their piece and get out updates, what have you. So we've been really fortunate so far being able to reach out to folks and get these educations like we had with Brad Feldman last week with New England, like we've had with Glenn crookson YC. And now we've started our conversations with Dave, so hopefully at some point we can have

day Leno on later on in the week. As like I said, he's got kids home from spring break, so it might be a bit of an adventure for him at some point to try and come on the show. But we'll figure it out and it might just be audio only, but we'll see. We have started our negotiations and conversations with Dave, so we'll see what happens when we can drift on by. All right, all right then, Dave, thank you, David, thank you. We were doing the matches,

thank you for that last night. It was a chippy and contested match and uh, you know when when you have two schools in uh the Atlanta area going after each other like Saint Pious Indicator, it made for fun.

Speaker 2

It made for a fun match.

Speaker 1

And then it was fun to be able to do both boys and girls over at Decatur last night.

Speaker 2

But David, thank you kind words.

Speaker 1

Uh you know, there are sometimes, uh sometimes when you know, after your your brain's fried and you're trying to come in and you're trying to call a match, it causes you to kind of refocus and reorient things.

Speaker 2

But but no, thank you, David.

Speaker 1

Back at it again tonight Kennesaw Mountain as it lasser and for a public service. Rich has linked to the article and it's also in the Twitch pitch about the Unity Cup and the possibility that the Union would not be of Unity because Andre Blake would be in this tournament and it would be at the tail end of May in a midweek weekend situation involving Toronto and Dallas.

But like I said, we got a month or six weeks and we'll figure out if that's going to be something that Philadelphia is going to let Andre Blake do.

Speaker 2

So we'll keep an eye on all of that.

Speaker 1

But also on the board once again, you get the scarves from the Marshall Island Soccer Federation. If the Kickstarter is up up your rally and if it's something that you feel compelled to donate toward, please feel free and looking forward to hopefully you know someone.

Speaker 2

Maybe cutting a.

Speaker 1

Couple of rather large checks to help out with the Kickstarter program. So our friends from the Marshall Islands can be in Arkansas in the middle of August. So right now, just over eight thousand as they're chasing after just over twenty six. If you want to buy the Marshall Islands gear, you can go to their store, their Federation website. You can go to the store. But if you buy the jerseys and the bucket hats and everything that comes from England,

scarves come from us. Like I said, I got about ten on the other side of this wall, and then then that means I have to go and order more, which is always a good thing. But you know, you get the scarves from me, jerseys and everything else that comes from the Marshall Islands store over in England. And thanks to our friends at Player Layer for being great folks and help designed the jerseys there for our friends at the Marshall Islands. Also Grady Baby, Grady Baby co.

If you don't have the soccer is just better in Atlanta shirt, whether it is the sweatshirt of the T shirt, you can do that in one of two ways. You can do that with them. And the Boss has already stolen the black one. For the black, you can send

red or black. The boss has stolen the black one because she can't wear red, and so T shirt sweatshirt proceeds from that go to help out middle school soccer programs in the Atlanta Public school system as they help to grow the beautiful game as well, So you can do that at Gratty Baby. You can go to Olivi and York and get the first ever SDH jersey and you can do that, and thanks to once again to our friends at Kaiser Permanente for helping us out with that.

Their names on the front beyond goals is on one shoulder, Soccer for Goods on a shoulder. If you haven't bought the navy jersey from our friends at Olive and York, you could do that and depending on personalization, like I said, consult with Abbey because Abbey as the personalization and she can give you her advice as to how it looked.

You can either have it in white letters and numerals and personalization, or you can have it in the skyblue, Carolina blue, whatever you wish to refer to it as, and you can get that at Oliver in York once again helps out our Soccer for Good campaign here in twenty twenty five. Then you can also go to the store at soccer down here dot net and you can

get all the SDH network gear. You can get to some other retro teams that Jason has retrofitted, and it's fun stuff when Jason gets to kind of do the homage to all of the activity that's been late, that's been very very early in all of our soccer appreciations here in the Atlanta area. So Jason retrofitted some logos for some old teams here in the Atlanta area. And you can get that stuff too. You can get your SDH network gear, the new logo, not the old logo,

but the new logo. You can get that at Soccer down here dot net. So it's Oliver in York Soccer down here, dot Nette. It is once again our friends at the Marshall Islands and our friends at Grady Baby and Grady Baby Co helping us out every single every single day when it comes to soccer for good campaigns and things like that. We'll get into finaate Cos and Finates and the chant app and all that stuff a little later on about how you can really dive in

and be a true degenerate. But that's the interesting part of all of the stuff that we do here at SDH on a daily basis. Okay, yesterday, I don't know if you saw this. I'm sorry, I gotta have to do the proper clothes. That's opening Kickoff brought to us by our friends at Kickoff Coffee and Kickoff Coffeeco dot com.

There's a QR code for those of you who are hanging out with us however you were doing so, whether it's on the SDH YouTube channel, whether it is on Twitch, or whether it is on x And once again, thanks for hanging out with us here this morning as we break everything down. Yesterday Johnny and Infantino came to town and it was a bit of a showcase for Mercedes

Been Stadium. And when Johnny Infantino has been going from market to market to market, it has been an opportunity for him when it comes to the Club World Cup. A to promote the Club World Cup and B donate a million dollars to the Youth Initiatives to Youth Initiatives, and Johnny Infantino alludes to that here in the SoundBite. This was a montage of individuals that spoke yesterday inside

Mercedes Been Stadium. Was pushed back because of travel issues until later yesterday afternoon, and it was the voices that you will hear. Obviously, Mike CONTI who was MCing. It is Tim Zelawski from a MBSSE. It is Mayor Andre Dickens the city of Atlanta. It is Johnny Infantino. And so here's a bit of a mashup of what happened yesterday as Atlanta got the chance to have the president of FIFA be a part and celebrate everything that's going on involving the Club World Cup coming here in.

Speaker 2

Six weeks is it?

Speaker 1

It's like six weeks But yeah, so Johnny and Fantina was in town yesterday. Here's your mashup of what happened yesterday where you had a lot of big names showcasing the upcoming tournament that is going to be here in the United States.

Speaker 3

Atlanta has really become one of the most exciting and passionate soccer cities in the world. And today is not just about a global game, it's about a local movement that really has transformed this city, our city, Atlanta, into a cultural and competitive force in the sport of soccer. Over the past decade, Atlanta has redefined what soccer means in the United States.

Speaker 4

I'm here with great appreciation and gratitude for this opportunity and Michael said it well. When we're building Mercedes been Stadium, we wanted to make it a catalyst to bring the best events from around the world here. We had the opportunity to bid and win the twenty six War Cup, and then with the grace of mister Infantino, we got the opportunity to do it for club in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 5

Went through to have you here, President Infantino, in the sports capital of the South, the city of Atlanta, or as we like to call it today, America's soccer capital. Right Atlanta, We've been growing and growing as a soccer town, as you've seen throughout the history of Atlanta.

Speaker 6

This is an incredibly beautiful venue, Mayor, dear friends, it is an incredible an incredibly passionate stadium as well. And when I read Atlanta United, I can even think about maybe we just have to change one letter. We can say Atlanta unites the world this year and unites the

world as well. We're very grateful, Mayor for what you're doing, for what the city is doing, for what Atlanta United is doing, and everyone involved for this tournament of the club will cabin for this reason and because we are also very much aware of our social role as FIFA, we decided to give a contribution of one million US

dollar for children in the city of Atlanta. Maybe thank you, Maybe build a few minisages in areas of the city where there is most need, and certainly we can bring and create activities.

Speaker 2

For this chip.

Speaker 1

Johnny and Fentino in town yesterday for the Club World Cup, and it was an opportunity. And he's doing this in every market, and so it's an opportunity for FIFA to make their uh you know, make their presence known in each of the markets that's involved in the Club World Cup. And so once again it was an opportunity for Johnny and Infantino yesterday to come into Atlanta.

Speaker 2

He's done it.

Speaker 1

I think he's been in Nashville and Philadelphia in a couple of other markets, and so it's it was his opportunity to come and show off Atlanta a little bit yesterday. And once again, as has occurred in every other market that he's been in, there's the million dollar donation by FIFA to help out with youth programs and so that was yesterday and so once again thanks to Jason for the editing. So it was Mike Conning, Tim Zlowski, Andre Mayor, Andre Dickens and Johnny Infantino yesterday in town as we

get ready for the Club World Cup. So that's that's where the Club World Cup he is at the moment. We are still, by the way, speaking of the Club World Cup, we are still still still still trying to figure out what in the wide world of sports is going to be going on with the playoff spot. So very very early this morning Reuters came out with a story.

So Johnny Infantino has said that the governing body will look to hold a playoff after it with the LAFC and Clubel medicott At for the place at the Club World Cup. After they removed Club Laon from the tournament. Leon was pulled. So June fourteenth, so sixty days out, so literally yesterday was the sixty days So Leon pulled out because of remember what we were discussing involving GROUPO Pachuca owning more than one franchise that was actually in

the tournament, so over multi club ownership. CASS is registered at Leon's appeal against the decision. Johnny and Fentino yesterday mentioned it. He said, in a couple of weeks we'll have the final definitive decision. We will respect any decision. What we're looking at is that if CASS confirms the decision of the Appeals Committee, FIFA's intention is to play a match between the team that lost the final of the Conker Cap Champions of LAFC, the next team in

the rankings, which is KLOBA Medica. And so that is that was what he mentioned yesterday when it came to this particular, this particular element of it. So once again they're gonna wait for cast and then so all that means is that l a FC and UH Global America and I.

Speaker 2

Have to be on the hot.

Speaker 1

So my guess is my guess is ah, sorry, Tempting Bonfire, you're a bot. We're gonna take care of Tempting Bonfire, and we're gonna put them where they belong, which is in a place where they can no longer do their job as as a as a bot inside the twitch. Sorry, and I apologize for being distracted. But when I see these kinds of things, and I know that you guys are really great about let's see viewer what do we call these viewer solicitations? Solicita who that's good? So li

Se Tay shun bot there we go submit report. All right, report's been submitted on attempting bonfire NB four x U R Jay So see ya, uh, wouldn't surprise me a bit. See now, all right, So June fourteenth is when the Club World Cup is supposed to begin. So if LAFC and Club America and the thing is, you got to coordinate with them and figure out what the heck's going on.

Speaker 2

So if laf C, let's just say, if LAFC.

Speaker 1

Gets word from from our friends at FIFA that they got a boogie and it's one of those where Okay, if you want to be in the tournament, you know, great, but you've got to be ready. So June fourteenth, here are the weekends that are available for LAFC between now and then. So here here's what you're chasing. Yeah, followers on Twitch are botanists, exactly and we love you for your botany exactly right. So here's here's LAFC schedule between now and when the beginning of the Club World Cup

would be. So, so let's we're gonna run through the schedule. We're gonna we're gonna workshop this. So obviously I don't anticipate that cast is gonna come up with a verdict here in this month, LAFC has matches on the nineteenth and the twenty seventh, so we could probably take out the month of Jenney April, we can take out the month of April. So here's May for LAFC. May they have have a match on the third, then they have

a match on the eleventh. I don't know if cast is gonna work that quickly to where you'd have to have a MIDWEK match. And so while I'm thinking about it, let me get Club A Medica's schedule. So let's see if we can cross reference when this possible match could happen involving these two teams, and I'm gonna have to probably pull up both and have both windows up and running.

Speaker 2

So for Clubamedica.

Speaker 1

As for them, it's fairly simple because remember they're at the end of the class surro, so for them it could be, you know, a fairly easy run. They don't have anything from Saturday April nineteenth, pending playoffs and things like that until July thirtieth, So April nineteen to July thirty they're fine because the next thing that for then would be a League's Cup at the end of July. So right now, if you look at the table in Lega MkIS Club Amedica is second, so they're gonna be

in a perfect world. They're gonna be trying to figure it out over the next couple of weeks.

Speaker 2

So if you have.

Speaker 1

In the Klaus Surda Club Amedica, they don't have to play in that first crazy weekend in April because they're watching everybody else in the playing round down below where chaos always happens from like five to twelve and then you end up with the eight survivors, but it always ends up being like the teams in the bottom of the playoff grid in the Claus Surda. So last week of April they're watching. First week of May would be when things kick in for them, so then that would

be that'd lead to the second week. So you're talking what mid to late May at the earliest that they could do something. And that's and I'm extrapolating if Klub America made their way in and they had a deep run into the Tornado de Claus Sura and they tried to figure out if they could be the Claus Suda champ.

Speaker 2

So we take out most of May.

Speaker 1

We take it, well, we take out all of April and we take out probably the first couple of weeks of May, so it would have to be late May at the earliest. So CASS has a little bit of time for LAFC. They don't because here's what LAFC has. The eleventh, the fourteenth, the eighteenth. Maybe you schedule something, and like I said, this is all reliant upon CASS and CASS figuring it out. Because remember, you're two you're two weeks. You are two weeks.

Speaker 2

Are sorry, two months.

Speaker 1

You're two months away, not two weeks if it was two weeks, and that'd be a problem out from the Club World Cup. So between now and June fourteenth, Club America, you know, they're pretty cool, they're pretty flexible once you get once you get out of May, you're fine. But the problem is, once again, you've still got a schedule. What's going on the schedule for LAFC in May is stupid.

The only chance I could see legitimately, here's the schedule here literally, here's the schedule for LAFC in in the month of May. LAFC play the third, play the eleventh, and then it's the eleventh, the fourteenth, the eighteenth, the twenty fourth, and the twenty eighth, and then the thirty first. That's the month of May for LAFC. That is all

regular season games in Major League Soccer. The only gap I could see is if they do something, say what the twenty first of May, which gives you a midweek, but it also stacks the deck against you because Gluba Medica is done with their season and LAFC has how many matches in the month of May. Seven matches in the month of May. Literally, they have seven matches in

the month of May. They have no gap space whatsoever reasonably coming out of a decision from cast to go and play Clubomedica, who will have been well rested.

Speaker 2

And calling dudes back from vak Yo. You saw the news, Cass said, yeah, here's the date.

Speaker 1

I just I envision this being a complete and till I mean, look, I'd love to know when you're gonna schedule this, Seriously, I'd love to know. I would love I would love, love, love, love love to know when this could be scheduled, because in the month of May, it ain't happening short of maybe something the twenty first, Because for LAFC, in the month of May third, eleventh, fourteenth, eighteenth, skip space twenty four to twenty eight thirty one. That

is LAFC in the month of May. That's the month of May, like I said, the only date I could foresee, and the fact that the clausura is over is really helping this out. Is right there, like in the twenty first, like May the twenty first, somewhere in there. But what's what's so bad about it is if you if you schedule and I'm not even in the month of juniet because you're really going up against it at that point.

But if CASS delays a decision or just doesn't decide, if you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. If you wait, if you're LA, if you are cast and you wait, if you wait to that gap time in May, that that window that we have focused in on. You're coming out of a you're coming out of l TRAFFICO in the eighteenth, and you're having to travel to Montreal on the twenty fourth. This is

not this is not working well for LAFC. The longer that CASS delays their decision or just doesn't decide whether it's a delay or not, the longer that cass does not decide. And Derek, I'm glad you got it because if you think about it, if you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Speaker 2

Legitimately, this looks like it's good. It's a good piece of news for Club America. Once again.

Speaker 1

You get out of May, you get out of say mid May. Club America's schedule is done. They're out the door. They are on Vaca and they're hanging out in Cabo. They're done. They're waiting lafc is in the middle of their schedule and have no time to breathe except for that one midweek window late in May. The longer cast dilly Dally's and dawdles, the better. I think this ends up for the for Club America here and and I'm just looking at it strictly from a scheduling perspective. Glove

America is done. They're done by you know, middle of May. They're kind of kicking around, hanging out. You know what's going on. Nothing, don't go to Cabo. Yeah, maybe go to uh you stop as he wata najo and trying to remember all of my old love boats stop from when they were when the Pacific Princess was cruising and Julie, your cruise director, was telling you what you could do when you got off the boat.

Speaker 2

But right now, the only time Club America's done. They're literally on the beach.

Speaker 1

You get into May, you get into May, and literally that's what you're looking at. You're looking at a team that's done and kind of kicking back and chilling. You know, I don't know how Club America is chilling. You know, maybe they have some cells or you know, maybe they've got to you know, they were just kind of you know, they're at a resort and they're looking at the they're looking at the Pacific, kind of sitting there going okay, so when are they gonna come out?

Speaker 2

Well, they tell us, so okay, nothing yet, Okay cool.

Speaker 1

LAFC has one midweek when possibility once we get into the month of May. If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice. The longer that casts chooses not to make a choice. Legitimately, from a scheduling perspective, the month of May is locked out for LAFC short of maybe the twenty first, and Glub of America is just chilling.

Speaker 2

So all right, So then let's go to let's go to June.

Speaker 1

Let's go to June. That's where it would have to be for LAFC. But the issue is once again on the thirteenth, then you can reschedule these. On the thirteenth, the day before the tournament is supposed to start, you would have to eventually reschedule a home match with Toronto SE. So maybe maybe what you do is this, you wait through the month of May. You wait, you do not schedule anything, and maybe this benefits it. Maybe CASS is lucked out as we've gone down the calendar because thirty

first bye week, then the thirteenth for LAFC. Maybe it's in that early part of June. But then once again you do something like that and like I sa it rescheduling the match up against Toronto SE. That's easy on the thirteenth.

Speaker 2

Then then.

Speaker 1

If you get a run in, okay, let's all right. So now now here, now here's schedule number three. Okay, so schedule number three. I'm gonna get the Club World Cup schedule out here. Not that I would think LAFC would really care at the end of the end of the day, but okay, so full match fixture schedule. So I need. Let's see group stage fixtures. Okay, so this is where we would swap out Club Layone. So Club Layonne, by the way, let's just say it's l a FC.

LAFC would end up playing Chelsea at Mercedes Benz on Monday, June sixteenth, So you're fine there, all right, So let's continue to look for where Club layone is is in the schedule. They would go to Giotis on the twentieth to take on Esperno Sportid the Tunis. Okay, So all right, so you're you're one and one. If you're LAFC, you're you're thinking that they could take care of business against Esperno Sportida the Tunis at Giotis on the twentieth of June.

Then looking for match number three for laone. You know, like I said now that I don't think that they

the bally LAFC would really give a rat. So you know what third match Orlando twenty fourth of June Tuesday, at twenty one hundred hours they're taking on Flamingo at well it's not Camping World, it's Enter and Co. But anyway, so if LAFC assumes Club Layonnes responsibilities, then they would be playing on the twenty fourth in Central Florida, which would mean that LAFC would have to reschedule their road games set for the twenty fifth against RSL in Rio Tinto.

So that's two matches rescheduled the month of June. Like I said, I don't think LAFC really would care, but this is what you're having to do. If you are if LAFC survives, the weight figures out when they're playing, and if they were to beat Club America.

Speaker 2

And so let's continue four.

Speaker 1

And that would be the last that would be the last group stage match on the twenty fourth.

Speaker 2

So right now.

Speaker 1

You would have had to have rescheduled both matches at LAFC after running through that seven match gauntlet of May. You would have had to have rescheduled the first two matches of the three that they have scheduled in the month of June. Like I said, you know, they'll figure it out. Lafc's just like, look, we'll worry about it. We'll kick the can down the road and not worry about it. Then let's just say. Let's just say that in their group, they were to survive their group, and

their group currently is Chelsea Flamingo and Espero Tunis. By the way, I think I want that scarf the Tunis. So if they survived Chelsea, Flamingo and Tunis, that would be Group D, so they would have to advance out of Group D. And if they were the runners up in Group D, let's just say they don't win, they lose to Chelsea, get results, goal difference or what have you. When they finished second, they beat you nice and they get a result against Flamingo and they're second in the group,

then they would go to Charlotte. And this might be where things come to a crashing halt because it's Byron and Boca in Group C to go with Auckland City and Benfica. But then that would mean that they would have to play on the twenty eighth then Charlotte, which bumps out the other match that they had scheduled in the month of June. So that is what you're looking

at when it comes to the schedule for LAFC. It is a big question for them getting into the tournament because Cass hasn't said anything yet, and you get into May, there's like one window one. It's like Billy Joel, you know, on the on the album cover of Glasshouses. He's there with the rock. There's one window you can hit, and that's all you need. You just got that one window. You're taking target practice and you hope you hit it.

One window in the month of month of May. If Cass Dilly Dally's and just kind of sits there and like, eh, you can get something done early June. But then that gives you the sum total of maybe a week to pack up your ish and get here to Atlanta because you're playing Chelsea to bat lead off in the tournament here, the first match that we have here at Mercedes Benz. So that is what to anticipate involving the anticipated matchup, Like Johnny and Fantino's like, yeah, if Cass says this,

we're looking to have a play in I'm paraphrasing. Obviously today I feel playing. But that's what you're looking at. If you're looking at this statement that he said yesterday that they're looking for a playoff match with Club America, who'll be chilling, and then LAFC, who will not have been.

Speaker 2

That is what LAFC is facing.

Speaker 1

When CAST decides that they're going to come up with a decision involving group of Pachuca. So we tip our hats in salute to LAFC for the gauntlet that they're going to run in May. For your own personal sanity, if you're a fan of LAFC, I don't know if you want that match to be the play in match and if you want that to be in that window in May, that you'll take it in early June and

then see what happens. But at the very least, if LAFC, as we have extrapolated the schedule, if LAFC was to go into this playoff match whenever it is scheduled, then and then god forbid if they wanted to try to rejigger the MLS schedule and that seven match gauntlet that they're in in the month of May. But in common sense plan, it's either going to be that gap week

or it's going to be early June. And maybe that benefits LAFC because Club America will have been chilling kicking back on the beach with the SPF seventy five or the SPF HOUNDI and they're under the deck chair and they're just like, yeah, oh we got a match. But that is what LAFC. In one representation of the universe in one representation of the universe, that's what they would

be facing. They would be facing a playoff game coming out of the Gauntlet in may Or shoved into the Gauntlet and may having maybe a week to ten days to pack up your issue, come over here to the East Coast to play in a group with Chelsea Benfica and esperuft to Tunis a Mayor as we'll just call them two nie. It takes entirely too long to say that's what you're square, that's what you're looking at here.

And then if you're LAFC, like I said, LAFC could give if they were to get into the Club World Cup. I'm sure they sit there and go, yeah, bro, whatever. But then you'd have Olivier de Roux and Hugo Laris playing in an international competition and everybody'd be like whoo.

Speaker 2

But that's what you're staring at.

Speaker 1

If you're LAFC, you get into the Club World Cup, your first two matches in the two of the three matches that you have in the UH in the window for the month of June, they're rescheduled, and if you get out of group, your entire schedule for the month of June is rescheduled.

Speaker 2

So that's what you're looking at. If you're LAFC, that is your mission.

Speaker 1

Should you choose to accept it this message, you'll self destruct in ten seconds.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I mean, keVs. It is carthage. That's what you're staring at, and you're just hoping it doesn't turn into a labor of sisyphus. So yeah, it is. It is the palace intrigue that is attached.

Speaker 1

With the FIFA cast decision, and apparently they're gonna be using refcam as well. Mentioning Club World Cup, Michael Rosstein from the Four Letter yesterday, well, it was a part of the group of folks that joined Madison, Cruz and Jason and Mike that was there at Mercedes Benz Stadium. Johnny and Fantino not concerned about ticket sales for the Club World Cup. Reasoning for not being worried is because of how stadiums filled up for friendly matches during preseason

tours and years past. Quote, I'm not worried at all the Philli Stadium when teams are coming to play a World Cup, to play for something real, not just an exhibition game where sometimes the second or third squads are fielded and so on. This is a real game, this is a real competition, this is a real World Cup. It's the best players, it's the best teams coming. Hang on to that quote, Just hang on to that quote.

I want to see how these squads look, especially the ones that are on there in between season breaks.

Speaker 2

Do we get the studs, do we get the mixes? Do we get youth?

Speaker 1

I'm intrigued, and Fantino said that once people understand the competition they'll buy in. But in me admitted, FIFA has to explain the Club World Cup to fans.

Speaker 2

Never been this large, never had a format.

Speaker 1

After the seventeen version was held in twenty one, two and three, FIFA officials declined to release ticket sales numbers thus far when I asked yesterday about it. But remember, you get twenty separate Club World Cup tickets, twenty separate matches. You get the right to purchase the one to the FIFA FIFA World Cup Final. Cheapest seat on ticket Master for the opening match at hard Rock with Messi and friends in Allah Leah's three fifty six multiple sections show

over one hundred tickets available on Ticketmasters. Same goes for the second match of the tournament in Cincinnati, Bayern, Munich and Auckland City. Cheapest seat going for ninety four eighty. First match at the Rose Bowl PSG in Atletico Madrid. Over half of the twenty six sections of the Rose Bowl have at least one hundred tickets available on Ticketmaster. Cheapest ticket one thirty three eighty guaranteed option to buy the ticket to one of the next Summer's World Cup matches,

not including the final. So you can buy a package not the twenty, but you can get a package with a guaranteed option to buy a ticket to one of next Summer's World Cup matches, not including the final. But you can get the one where you buy the twenty,

and then you get that chance. Infantino addressed the possibility of Atlanta playing host to a Women's World Cup final joke the seventy one thousand seat venue would need it another twenty thousand seats, but also indicated the city, which has fourteen matches between club and regular World Cups, has a chance to make an impression. Well, duh, Infantina may say, and this is once again from the writing of Michael Rostein.

Infantina may say, he's not worried about ticket sales, but he did make sure to remind folks that tickets are still available, and.

Speaker 2

So he did the publicity.

Speaker 1

He gave the one million dollar contribution for social projects, and then he said, there's still some tickets available FIFA dot com slash tickets, Get them and enjoy them.

Speaker 2

But so he hit the promo.

Speaker 1

He hit the absolute promo, FIFA dot com slash tickets. So that was that was the Johnny Infantino visit, plus your your Club World Cup update or your Club World Cup date. And by the way, Matty got the Maddy got the scarf yesterday too. If you if you watched Maddie's post press or report on sdh's social media, she was sporting the Club World Cup scarf. So I know that that's going to be going up in the office.

I got to figure out how to get one of those things, not having to drop thirty two bucks on one speaking selfishly. So that's our number one here on a Tuesday Tuesday thoughts, Like I said, whatever's on your mind, whatever we missed from yesterday involving it Landy United one interview, I did want to play will start our number two to kind of lean into Major League soccer and the

rest of the events from the weekend. It's from Noah Cob and it literally is something that, you know, I think that we all should be reminded of when it comes to these the run that it Landy United is on right now. So here is Jason's interview with Noah Cobb yesterday after the match or from Saturday with Noah Cobb after the match from the full time Report ninety two nine in the game in the Odyssey app.

Speaker 7

Down in the locker room with Noah Cobb. Noah, just how you're feeling after that?

Speaker 8

Very disappointed?

Speaker 2

I mean.

Speaker 8

I thought, I thought, for the most part, we played them off the park and we walk away with zero points and stuff. Stuff to swallow.

Speaker 4

For sure.

Speaker 7

It's one of those games where a lot of things go against you at the post. Couple of times. There's decisions that happened. Just the second half it felt like it turned. Your inclusion was a big part of that. What is the next step for this team in your mind?

Speaker 8

I think it's matching performances with points and I think, you know, like in the second half, we play so good, so so good, and we still walk away with zero points. I mean, it's you put. I think if you play that game twenty more times, we win every single time, and it's just but you know what, we only play

it this time, and it's about being clinical. It's about it's about taking that forty five, sixty to thirty however many minutes we played well and trying to get it to ninety minutes and do that week in week out.

Speaker 7

For fans on the outside, and they see it and I know, you know everybody's feeling that frustration. What would you tell them about what the mood is within the locker room after a game like that, and the mood to get things going in the direction that all of you want.

Speaker 8

Yeah, we're I mean, however, like we're as disappointed as you if, and more like we feel it in the locker room where the ones experience it. And we're the ones that you know, are working our butts off every single day to try to get points on the board,

and it kills us when we don't. And because we know, we know what a big club this is, and we know what a big part of the club of the club the fans are, so we know when we can't do that, it's it's a big letdown and I think like everyone, including the fans, us, we know how good we are.

Speaker 2

We just we just have.

Speaker 8

To get to that point where we're matching points with performances.

Speaker 7

Big week this week as you prepare for two on the road and Philly. You know how Philly can be a difficult place to play. What's the most important thing for the team to work on this week to get ready to get a result there.

Speaker 8

I think it's just clearing our heads, especially early in the week, you know that this game's passed us. These the games come thick and fast and we have to uh, we have to just it's it's next game mentality, and I think we we have to learn from some of our mistakes in this game. And and I mean it's a different opponent, but we can apply the same things because we know when we play well, the other team has to adapt to us.

Speaker 2

No, thank you for the time.

Speaker 7

And I'm sure I'm the last person you want to talk to you right.

Speaker 1

Now, and Derek, you you're probably not far off. Derek in the chat future Captain Noah Cobb and to to hear those words from Noah Noah and for those that might have watched Rooted last year and that the Rooted in the Stripe series once again, I'd go back and watch I go back and watch the episodes from this season and get you get yourself caught up. But when you listen to someone like Noah, who I apologize with the words I'm going to use, but they ball that,

he balls out. And when you've got a lockdown, when you've got a lockdown free safety like Noah Cobb and he says what he says, That's why I wanted for those of you that might have missed it on the Full Time Report, that's why I wanted to bring it back and play it here on this show at some point early in the week because of everything that excuse me still getting over all this cold for everything that

we've seen Noah accomplish. I mean, look, this is a kid who at fifteen was going up against dudes twice his age in USL Championship and didn't blink twice. I mean, he's gone up against Cameron Lancaster and he didn't care. We've seen folks like Noah Cobb, and Noah has been that lockdown free safety. And another element of the growth

of Noah came from the Rooted series. Actually it was the response that Garth gave Noah after the clincher against Messi and Friends at the Erector set, and the reaction that Garth had with Noah after that match, the faith that Atlanta United has shown in Noah Cobb ever since he walked in coming in from Chattanooga. To see where he is now, to see the fire, to see the passion, to see him continue to grow as that lockdown free safety who has and his kid has speed to burn

and he ain't afraid to use it. So when you have someone like Noah Cobb say what he said on the Full Time Report, that's why I brought it. That's why I brought it back to play here early in the week to get everything moving forward, getting ready for Philly. Derek thinks it's time for Noah to get more playing time. And I guarantee you, sir, that you are not in the minority. Is that a double negative? But yeah, you are not a minority opinion about Noah Cobb. So we'll see,

we'll see how it continues to progress. But I thought it was important to bring back that sound with Noah to discuss everything that's been going on involving Atlanta United and to kind of take you inside the locker room. Noe's gonna no it's not going to mince words. No one's not going to mince words with his teammates. Noah's not going to mince words in the media. He's got to let you know what's what's on his mind. If he's if everything is cool, he'll let you know if

it's not, and he's if he's chapped. You hear it there, and to have that kind of honesty, it's always it's always cool to hear to know that it's there, and to know that it's that you can go to a place that it's being expressed. So, like I said, I just thought that was important to bring that with Noah here on the show at least early in the week to get you ready for what's going to be happening

in Philadelphia this weekend. All right, rest of Major League Soccer, and I know that we've got to get into AM news, and we've got to get into what happened in the Premier League yesterday and on the weekend to get you ready for what's going on.

Speaker 2

We've got Champions League today.

Speaker 1

We'll get into the juice boxes for that and we'll lay it all out for you here in our number two because once again, whatever else is on your mind, whatever whatever is on your thought processes, as we go here on a Tuesday where any and all thoughts are readily available. Okay, results from the last from last weekend, and we'll burn through them. And you've also, God, you've also got Open Cup todays we've got to get into.

We've got Open Cup today and tomorrow. It's the third round of Open Cup, so we've got those juice boxes to get into as well. And it's a visit from a bunch of old friends as one of the matchups in Open Cups. We've got to get in that too. But all right, last weekend in Major League Soccer morning Michael Velverty, Toronto and Minnesota played ninety minutes and we

can't get our lives back, goalless draw at BEMO. I don't know how many of you had, and legitimately I had on my fantasy team two players from Minnesota United. I cannot remember the last time that I had two players from my fantasy team from Minnesota United in a situation. And what I did is I had one on offense and one on defense, which to me meant going into this matchup, I figured that Minnesota United would score goals and they wouldn't give up any I was half right,

but unfortunately I was half right both times over. I didn't foresee Toronto scoring any goals. I foresaw them giving up a couple. But I was only half right. For those of you that had Sean Johnson, in some kind of a salary conundrum for your fantasy team, you end up with a Goalis Straw ninety minutes of your life. You can't get back Goalis Straw with Minnesota United and with Toronto FC. I imagine that if you were to

talk to Robin Fraser, he would say one thing. If you talk to Eric Ramsey, he would probably sit there and would be profoundly disappointed, and there might be some choice words that are attached to it. Orlando and New York, same thing, but in this one, you figured that the defenses would kind of be there as a part of it. How Red Bulls didn't score once again on the road, that's probably I'm answering my own question, But Orlando and

Red Bulls. Looking at the lack of offense from both of these teams, it's like you wonder which Orlando team is going to show up, and you wonder why the team that you're used to seeing with Red Bulls didn't show up. Is it as just something as simple as just being a road team. Have to keep an eye on this going forward. Cincinnati squeaked out of one nil winning as d C United. Not necessarily a sentence that

I would have had played out there either. I started Evander, I think in fantasy this year this week thinking that d C United, and I thought about Christian Binteke. I thought about it, but just the lack of support kind of turned me against that idea. So Cincinnati one nil winners over DC United. Charlotte on the road did just enough.

No Wilf Zaha because you know he his hand has had surgery and the physicians wanted his thumb to get better before it's I think they wanted the scar to lessen before they wanted Zaha to go out there and have any kind of contact. So Charlotte, it's the one nil win over Montreal and we'll go over the schedule once again, still safe from not drinking diet Mountain Dew

NYC over Philly by the score of one nil. I do want to talk to Dave Leno about this as a part of the larger picture when we catch up with him later in the week at a predetermined time. What happened The club that we're used to seeing with Philadelphia with all of the offense in ty Baribo did not exist.

Speaker 2

It was that city field. Maybe that was it. I don't know.

Speaker 1

No, Daniel Gozdog. We got to get into that with Dave as well. What's the absence, what's the absence of God's doog? What does that create? What's the locker room vibe? All those things. We got to get into that with Dave Leono at some point this weekend we will The one surprise I think was how Vancouver thumped Austin. I did not have Brian White on my fantasy team. I did not think that Vancouver had five in them after what happened in the midweek, I legitimately did not. Thirteenth,

thirty eight to fifty, ninth and eighty third. Sabby had a goal in the forty seventh he broke up the momentum. Pereira had an oh bye the Way in the ninetieth. It was five zl and then oh bye the Way to make it five to one. Did not have that with Vancouver, and obviously that right now, that's your coach of the year. That is your coach, that is the coach of the year right now. How they are doing what they are doing and continuing to do it week in week out. I have no idea, but you know

you're doing well so far. You're going to ride that horse, he said. I don't know how Vancouver put five on Austin after the week they had, after the emotion that they had, They navigated it, they got through it, they got home.

Speaker 2

They put five on Austin. Did not have that.

Speaker 1

Seattle BEATFCD at Toyota in the Haseis Ferrera revenge game one, Nill, that's all you need. Nashvill beat RSL two to one at g Ootis. I was not anticipating this. Daniel Lovetts of all people scored in the thirtieth and so Sam Surage took the PK. They were down one nil after Marzuk scored. So you've got a PK opportunity in a time match late. So what happens You give it to Surage, not to Honey moot Tar, but to Sam Surge. Surge

converted ninety plus one. You get the win two to one against RSL at home, and you're really annoying me by going backward in your schedules. Colorado over San Diego three to two. Figured this one was going to be a shootout, and it was. Georgie Mihailovich gets the PK to start things off. Darren Yappi in the fifty third after Luca Delatore tied it at one, Navarro made it three to one, Thomas on Hell made it three to two, and San Diego.

Speaker 2

Couldn't come up with an equalizer.

Speaker 1

San Diego is still really competitive, and this was something that I had not anticipated. I did not have this being the start that San Diego FC was having.

Speaker 2

I did not anticipate this.

Speaker 1

La Galaxy and Houston a one one draw. I don't know if this says more about lag or if it says more about Houston.

Speaker 2

I really don't.

Speaker 1

Ponce scores in the fourteenth minute to give Houston a one nil lead, Zanka gets a red in the twenty eight, so Galaxy down to ten for the final sixty minutes, and Diego Fagundez scores in the second half and that was how it ended. So maybe it says more about Houston not being able to capitalize on the situation. You had a one nil lead, you're up a man, you don't score, lag does. It's a one, one draw shared result and everybody goes home. Now LAFC over San Jose

to to one. We figured it was going to be crazy, and it was so LAFC got the win and San Jose goes on the road to BEMO and gets the loss once again. I'm still trying to figure out which team San Jose is. Is it the team at Thump DC, or is it the team that's competitive and loses matches like.

Speaker 2

This to LAFC. That's a big question.

Speaker 1

We figured that Portland and Kansas City was going to have some offense, and it did six goals total. Portland doubled Sporting four to two. You know, I am intrigued to see how it carries the Wagnin continues to try and right the ship. In an interim way for Sporting Kansas City, Chicago and Messy and Friends. They set a new track record at the Spaceship in downtown Chicago. Just over sixty three sixty three thousand show up and Lionel Messi played.

Speaker 2

Lionel Messi did not score. The world is ending as we know it. Red cards, I mean sorry, yellow cards.

Speaker 1

See now you have you have John Freeman in the middle, Corey Richards and Ian McKay. You your ars, Gerald Flores, your v R. Voneris Sevinche and Fabio Tovar are up in the booth. So you have you have. You have five yellow cards in the first half from John Freeman, Paneda, Rodondo Suarez, Gudier's Kromaski, three yellow cards on Messi and Friends, Rodondo, Suarez and Kremoski, two on Chicago Paneda and Goodier's Elliott, Rahel,

Carlos Tehran all in the second half. So it ends up eight yellows on the day, So grab your helicopters the start them up. No yellow cards at all in the second half from Messian Friends, but you have three in the first half, just putting that out there, Morning, Alex.

Speaker 2

Morning. So you end up with that at the end of it. All no goals.

Speaker 1

Eight yellows, most of them in the second half to Chicago, Well it's five. It was three three in the second half. They all went to Chicago, and Chicago ended up with more yellows five to three, all three yellow cards from Messian friends in the first half, no yellow cards in the second half.

Speaker 2

Who knew?

Speaker 1

Also on the board Your Sunday Night, Your Sunday Night soccer Columbus in Saint Louis. All Caps lose at two to one at Energizer Park, and you got to see what Daniel gozdog means to Columbus crew. Jeane Klous scored in the seventh Morrera scored.

Speaker 2

Late in the first half.

Speaker 1

You can't have that happen Roman Burkey is still injured. Bin loot in that one want at the break. Digo Rossi scores early second half. You thought God's Dog had one on the board, but the flag went up. I know that Rich's ears are ringing with all of this conversation, but right.

Speaker 2

Now, two to one as your final.

Speaker 1

And that was the final score on SNS on Sunday night. So that's where we are with the scores from the week. Let's take a peak of the standings. Then we'll get into Open Cup and all of these other things that we have going on. We'll go Open Cup, Premier League, whatever else is on your mind. So conference standings after this match week Eastern Conference Columbus eighteen points ahead, of Charlotte and Sincy. Charlotte has a better goal of goals

against or goal difference. Messi and Friends seven matches in match in hands, so if they win, they would still be beaten at five oh to three, So right now fifteen points seven matches there and four Union are at thirteen points, ahead of Nashville on goals scored, both at four to three and one. Orlando Chicago Red Bulls seven eight, nine, all with the identical three two and three, and it is Chicago on goals scored that gives them the eight and Red Bulls the nine. NYC is at eleven points.

At Land United is at nine points, one win out of being in playoff contention or being in the playoff discussion. New England is at seven points, DC United's at six, Toronto's at four and it oh six and two a CF Montreal is at the bottom of the East and the West Vancouver at nineteen points in eight matches, six to one and one. They have only given up six goals all season. Maybe we should all start Taco Oka

and net when it comes to our fantasy team. Six one, eight matches, seventeen goals scored, highest powered offense in Major League Soccer six cloud, Vancouver nineteen four points clear, Minnesota five points clear, San Diego, Portland and Colorado each at four two and two. San Diego scored fifteen goals. That's why the goal difference and they are head of Portland and Colorado. Austin's in six after getting thumped, they went from a plus two in goal difference to minus two.

They only scored six goals this year. After all the money that Austin has scored is spent, All the money that Austin has spent, they have six six, six goals. Hang on a second, I think I'm not mirrored, but it's just I got to figure out the six goals. Yeah, six, after drew it reversed. So six goals six right now this season for Austin. And that's not good considering that you had only given up three and you had only

scored five going into the matchup against Vancouver. And you, oh, by the way, goal by Pereira in the ninetieth was your sixth goal of the season. You signed Ustari, you signed Brandon Vasquez, all of this, all of this money that was spent, all of this money, and you have six different goal scorers Bucari is who I was thinking of.

Speaker 2

Ustari's in net.

Speaker 1

Bukari is a striker, so Gujeerrembiro who is not a striker. Pereira not a striker, John Gallaher not a striker. Vasquez, Bucari and a Zuni have half of your goals, but it's one each. All the money that you spent in the offseason to bring in those folks six total goals and your three dudes have three of them.

Speaker 2

And that's it. One one coma one.

Speaker 1

That's what Austin FC has done so far this year, not much offensively, and you're still sixth. Brad Steuver, Brad Steuver is going to need a medal and a statue and a bunch of things when his time in Austin has done absolutely true. Thirteen points there in sixth and they haven't scored a lick. Lafc's got twelve, Dallas has eleven, San Jose's got ten, RSL has nine points, tied with Seattle one more win. All Caps are in twelve eight

points eight matches. You want to talk about scoring issues, They've only scored five goals in eight matches this year, five one more than four to one less than six, and they have five different goal scorers. Hartel, toy Shirt, Klaus, be Cher and the thing is toys Shirt, Klaus and b Cher have not started every match that they've been in, and they haven't stayed. I mean they've been Toyshirt has been subbed on twice. Klaus has been subbed on in three of the seven matches, but Cher has been subbed

on in half of the matches he's played. Each have one goal. Hartel has played in all ninety. Lowin has played in all ninety and that's it. He Hartel has not subbed on once, Lewin has not subbed on once. They've started all the matches that they've been in, but they only have five goals all year, much like Austin different goal scorers.

Speaker 3

Ye yee.

Speaker 1

As the kids say, Marcel Hartel is quite pleased with his moving from the Bundesliga to go play it all Caps. I'm sure the fans in Saint Louis will like for him to score more goals. Houston right now at one, four and three six points in eight matches, sporting one six and one. They've scored ten, they've given up sixteen. So when John Pol's camp at all averaged giving up two goals a match.

Speaker 2

That's not good.

Speaker 1

Lagh five and three, six goals scored, fifteen loud so San Jose because of their thumping of DC, they have sixteen goals scored. Vancouver has seventeen, and no one in the Eastern Conference has any more than fifteen.

Speaker 2

And that's Orlando.

Speaker 1

Most prolific offense is in Vancouver, and they have one of the best defenses so far out of the Blocks. Lag however, has only scored six goals in eight matches and they're five and three, and I can understand why. Obviously, when you don't have Ricky Pooh and you don't have Joseph Painzil, that creates more issues for Gabriel Peck. You were looking from what the Christian Ramirez. You haven't gotten it, at least in bulk. Seagram is your leading scorer with three.

You haven't gotten any. You haven't gotten a whole lot of Diego Fugundez, who scored only once this year and eight starts. Gabriel Peck has won goal in seven starts. Garsis has one goal in five starts and seven appearances. So Seagram has half of your goals in Los Angeles right now, and that's where we are.

Speaker 2

After match week.

Speaker 1

Number eight, the chaos that will ensue, we'll talk about it tomorrow with Dylan Butler, who's going to join us in our number two, and we'll talk about it with Nico Moreno on Thursday. Get him ready for the weekend and find out how it was for the Hasis for a revenge match, and get you ready for the weekend.

Speaker 2

There.

Speaker 1

Open Cup is tonight and you can once again you can now the expanded coverage of Open Cup. CAFEW seventeen Championship Semifinals and b in this afternoon at one and four, lou City Loud United seven o'clock Open Cup third rounds on CBS Sports Network FS one late night because they have not sprung forward yet. Golossal Network has your double header p Hop the Portland Hearts of Pine taking on Rhode Island FC and our mogul and Training Michael Parkers Avy Alta is late night taking on Orange County mlsnextpro dot Com has activity for you in the midweek Messian Friends too hosting Orlando City B that's at seven o'clock. Champions League Villa PSG's at three, same

with Brusha Dortmund Barsa. Then Paramount plus has all the activity in the third round of the Open Cup Crew two Pittsburgh River Hounds, p HOP and Rhode Island FC, Charlotte Independence, North Carolina FC. If you want some old USL Championship vibes and or USL League One vibes, lou City Loudon Charleston and South Georgia torment it seven point thirty.

Speaker 2

Keep an eye on that one.

Speaker 1

People Union Omaha, San Antonio to come and to find's Oakland Roots in avy Alta, Orange County. That's all once again on Paramount Plus. Peacock has chiev Us and Puebla at nine. On the women's side, Women's Super League Arsenal in Leicester City that's on at two thirty. That's once again on ESPN Plus. Now let's get into juice boxes for the day and get into your juice boxes for

the Open Cup. So let's see if there's anything completely and totally screwy when it comes to any and all of the activity that we could be facing tonight once again, starting a six thirty and working you way through ten o'clock. So it'll be a late night, but it won't necessarily be a later than late night, so as we break it all down once again, Crew.

Speaker 2

Two and the Hounds.

Speaker 1

Uh okay, I don't know, as long as said, I'm looking at the graphic on mlsoccer dot com and their schedule grid.

Speaker 2

I don't know when the Pittsburgh River Hounds just turned.

Speaker 1

Into the Hounds, but that's what we're staring at Columbus Crew two and the Hounds. I feel like any Jazz hands, CBS Sports, and Paramount Plus at lower dot com the Hounds. I don't know if Bob Lilly would like just being referred to as the Hounds. I don't know if he would be a fan of that. He might be yelling at somebody at some point. Crew two A plus two ninety seven ninety minute draws A plus two forty eight. The Hounds REMNUS one twenty five. I feel like I

have to say it that way from this moment forward. Legitimately, I think I do all right seven o'clock Lynn Family Stadium, lou City and Louden. This one's gonna be a fun one for those of you that have not had the chance to take a peek at USL Championship this year,

Louden's off to a hot start. Lou City as lou City and so much like our friends at the SEC, it just means more so you're fighting for a grouping in the next round of the Open Cup and you're having to play two of the top teams against each other in Eastern Conference. Traditionally, Louden has been a place where it has been a lot of young talent that is trying to work their way into DC United's game day roster.

Speaker 2

It's been very, very young talent.

Speaker 1

Keep an eye on Albucorra, who we talked about with Kayler Hodges when we had the breaking news come on about the firings in Tampa Bay and in Birmingham, Abdlani abdol Court. Keep an eye on him for Louden, lou City in loud And this one's going to be a fun one. I would probably not even and I haven't even looked at the juice boxes yet. I haven't looked at the juice boxes. But my gut is going ninety minute draw juice Boxes. Lou City a big favorite. Wow.

Lou City's a minus one seventy. Lou City's a minus one seventy five ninety minute draws, a plus two to eighty. Louden's a plus four eighteen.

Speaker 2

Wow.

Speaker 1

I did not anticipate that. I still, for some reason, I still like the ninety minute draw. That's not going to sway me from the Franklin Athletic Complex in Lewiston, Maine. If I'm not mistaken. Portland Heart's a pine taking on Rhode Island FC. I wonder if Michael Parkers is going to be there. P Hop is a plus three forty at home ninety minute draws, a plus two forty. Rhode Island is a minus one thirty seven with their buddy Connor Smith. Also at seven o'clock Charlotte Independence. And this

one is at Matthews taking on North Carolina FC. And this is one we need Dean Lincoln, how about North Carolina FC. We'll find out their favorite of a plus one twelve ninety minute draws A plus two thirty eight. Charlotte Independence is a plus two o two Charleston in South Georgia Tormenta two teams that do not like each other. No, sir, not one bit. It's like the horse in ren and Stimpy. No, sir, I don't like it. I don't like it at all. You ask one about the other. This is hatred personified.

Speaker 2

People.

Speaker 1

You want clean, old fashioned hate in southern soccer, this is it. Charleston and Tormenta at Patriots Point. If you're anywhere near this one, go just for the sheer history actor. Charleston obviously a big favorite because they're in USL Championship in Tormenta is in League one. Charleston of minus two fifty six ninety minute draws a plus three sixty two

and Tormenta is a plus five oh nine. If anything happens in any of these matchups from tonight, will effort the folks to be in the first hour tomorrow, and we'll do the same thing on Thursday or in the second hour on tomorrow. In the first hour on Thursday. If anything happens Union Omaha, the murder alsose Bulls at Coniglia Field taking on San Antonio FC. And I know that our buddy Harry's keeping an eye on this one.

So eight o'clock and what they don't mess around. It's like literally Coniglia Field, and I want to say that's at un oh and so Nebraska, Omaha so eight o'clock Eastern Murder Owls and san Antonio san Antonio is off to a great start in USL Championship and Union Omaha's Union Omaha. You know, Maha is a dog at home at a plus two sixty eight ninety minute draws A plus two to seventy one San Antonio minus one twenty five.

Two late nights a vy Alta at home in the Inland Empire taking on Orange County av Alta a plus two and a quarter ninety minute draws A plus two eighteen and Orange County favored but on the plus side of the plus one oh eight to come in.

Speaker 2

To Fiance.

Speaker 1

And Oakland Roots Roots have gotten off to a horrible start in the USL Championship. There were plus one sixty nine on the road at Starfire draws A plus two twenty nine to come at Fiance at home favored of the plus one thirty seven so an MLS next Pro side favored against a USL Championship side because once again Oakland has gotten off to a horrendous start horrend us three syllables accented each time.

Speaker 2

Horrendous start.

Speaker 1

How horrendous you ask, well, I'll tell you bottom of the East, bottom of the Western Conference, horrendous one one in four in their first six goal difference of minus six. They lost three of their first four, by the way, to start the season.

Speaker 2

They did get the win.

Speaker 1

Last time out, beating FC Tulsa on the weekend to get their first win, and they were they were looking up at everybody oh one and four in their first five. They did great things at the Oakland Coliseum with the sellout. But they finally got their first win of the season in match week six to kind of draw themselves back in toward the playoff discussion.

Speaker 2

But really, I.

Speaker 1

Mean, legitimately, if you're looking for a story out of the blocks, it's Lexington playing in the Western Conference right now. They're in the eighth playoff spot one three and two. They're grinding out results. They started the season with a win, then they drew too, then they had a two game match losing streak, and then they drew last time out to get to six points. You want to this is going to be a slog for Lexington travel alone is

going to be a slog for Lexington. So if you're keeping an eye on what's going on USL Championship, keep an eye on Lexington. If they're growing into the schedule, if they're doing well, if they get to a hot point and then they just fall off a cliff, when did they bonk in this schedule? That to me is a question that I will have for Kaylor and everybody

going forward. When did Lexington bank? And for those not familiar with that term, that is a running term, you know, marathonors, marathoners, road racers, et cetera.

Speaker 2

When they hit that wall, it's called bonking.

Speaker 1

So when does Lexington bank in this schedule with them being in the West, that's the larger question for me.

Speaker 2

Then just for the record, I think on a second.

Speaker 1

Allergies, So for the record, the other Open Cup matchups tomorrow and well, like I said, we'll just do the cursory run of the juice boxes today and then we'll do more of an in depth through tomorrow with the the matchups currently that have juice boxes attached. Indy eleven big favorite against the MIAMIFC at home at the MIC Phoenix Rising on the Road favored at FC Tulsa, New Mexico at the Lab is favored, and the minus side

hosting El Paso Locomotives. So nothing like New Mexico and El Pasa going at it in a rivalry game.

Speaker 2

Eh.

Speaker 1

So the other matchups on tomorrow and you got eight of them.

Speaker 2

FC Naples in Tampa Bay and that's at f C Naples.

Speaker 1

Remember what happened with f C Naples and Sarasota last time out where they almost where they came to blows. Basically, how does f C Naples handle Tampa Bay? How does Tampa Bay handle a new coaching change? Detroit City in Westchester, Indy eleven and the miamif C, f C Tulsa Phoenix Rising, Colorado Springs and one Knox New Mexico and L Passo Sacramento and our friends from El fad Alito and Vegas Lights in Chattanooga red Wolves.

Speaker 2

So basically the ones that could not.

Speaker 1

Like play each other, like Colorado and Vegas couldn't play each other, so they had to plot it out to where Okay, who's short strawing it? And as it turns out, in the Eastern in the eastern part of the country, it was the two League One teams who got to travel one Knox gets to travel to Colorado Springs and Red Wolves after what happened in their matchup against Chattanooga FC, they get to travel to Vegas. So those are the matchups.

Not all of them have juice boxes attached. But it's going to be a busy, busy night in Open Cup to lead you to another busy night and Open Cup and then trying to figure out, Okay, who's left standing when it comes to all of these clubs coming out of this round with this round of thirty two and then adding more teams as you come in in the next round. So that's where we are with that. Okay, Uh, yesterday, Well I guess well you want to talk you we could.

We'll talk about what happened in the UH in the Premier League. And by the way, Luka Modrich is becoming a part owner of Swansea City. Interesting that that is that is going and that is going down because literally Swansea nine percent owned by the fans in the Swansea Trust, twenty three percent owned by a hedge fund, and then the rest of it is owned by an ownership group

that has changed recently. Now Luca modrig is getting a small piece of it, but not uh, not one to where he's going to be making a boatload of boatload of decisions or anything. And he's not gonna be playing there, I don't think when he's like forty five or six. But Luka Modridg is getting a piece of the ownership

action when it comes to Swansea City. So yesterday it was a uh it was an in that'sgging day on Monday night football because you ask yourself occasionally it's like, okay, so when does a goal in the first minute stand up answer? Yesterday, Samna scored in the first minute for Bournemouth. Bournemouth held on for the win to snap along losing streak at home at a plus one twenty so Bournemouth winner Newcastle thump Manchester United.

Speaker 2

The screaming you.

Speaker 1

Heard was Drew Dickinson and uh no need to be sorry, Alex big win for Newcastle, putting four on the board of the minus one sixty seven knocking off Manchester United.

Speaker 2

Ipswich had a two nail lead, really could have used.

Speaker 1

The points, ended up with a two to two draw against Chelsea, so they end up with one and honors even instead of the other two that they really did need Liuiverpool over west Ham two to one, Wolves doubled up Spurs by the final of four to two. Do not be surprised under any circumstance if Ajpasta coaglu is asked to unpack his office at the end of the regular season. We'll go to the standings in a bit

just to reinforce it. But the levels of frustration, obviously are they're on the you know, in the boardroom and with the fans, and I don't not anticipate it stopping anytime soon. Do not anticipate that Ane Pasta Coglu will be renewed when it comes to his time at Spurs.

Speaker 2

Arsenal and Brentford to won one draw once again.

Speaker 1

Brentford traditionally tough defensively and it is that has been their calling card. Thomas Frank very stout defensively on the road, get his points at home, get points on the road when you can. And Brentford is who they are and they have Thomas Frank to thank for that and their long time sustainability at the g Tech in the Premier League.

Speaker 2

Brighton and Leicester two to two.

Speaker 1

Lester needs like ninety eight points instead of the one that Brighton allowed on Saturday, Everton big result one Niliver Nottingham Forest Villa over Southampton three Hill at a minus one ninety six. That's what Villain needed going into just just catching their breath a little bit, and Villain needed one of those as they you know, head into the

international competition here in the midweek. Then Manchester City put five on Palace and the thing is Palace had a two zer league and then Kevin de Bruna started the whole thing and they turned into an avalanche five to it Crystal for Manchester City on the win. Pep Guardiola has said that they need to be perfect on the way in to think about European football. We'll see where they are when it comes to being close to perfect. Now, there is one match in the midweek and it's a

makeup game Newcastle and Crystal Palace. It's tomorrow and Newcastle minus one forty three, Palace a plus three seventy six draws A plus two ninety three in the composite standings, just so you know them right now.

Speaker 2

And it looks like it's gonna be.

Speaker 1

Five teams in European competition for the Premier League. Liverpool lost their second match of the season. Oh my god, the world is closing twenty three seven and two seventy six points, thirteen clear with six to play Arsenal right now, the loss by Forrest Everton really helped them out for second. But it is a street fight from three through seven. How much of a street fight do you ask, Well, I'll tell you. Forest right now has fifty seven points,

Newcastle's fifty six with a match in hand. Manchester City's at fifty five, Chelsea's at fifty four, well ahead of Villa on goal difference plus seventeen to plus three.

Speaker 2

That gets you to seven.

Speaker 1

That takes care of your five European slots, your Europa League slot, in your Europa Conference League slot. Right now, Bournemouth is in eighth after getting off the Schneide. So Bournemouth and there was a scenario whereby you could have a team finish as low as eleventh and be eligible for European football. There is a scenario where that was things had to happen. Someone has to win the FA Cup, this, this, this, this,

and this. Someone's got to win Europa League, someone's got to win Champions League.

Speaker 2

Those kinds of things.

Speaker 1

You could have a scenario where someone who's eleventh could qualify for Europe.

Speaker 2

Born within eighth.

Speaker 1

At forty eight, well ahead a Fulham on goal difference, well ahead a Brighton on goal difference. Bournemouth really needed to win yesterday by the way they go from tenth to eighth. Brentford's at eleventh, the head and gold difference, a crystal palace. Everton under David Moyes ahead of Manchester United. Now think about this, Everton is in thirteenth place once again. David Moyes has come in to save the day. David

Moyes is underdog. I don't I don't know that. I don't know who that makes polypurebread in this particular situation. Jordan Pickford maybe. But Manchester United and Spurs are fourteenth and fifteenth in the Premier League, and we talk about how things have just gone completely and totally off the rails, whether it's financial, whether it's investments, whether it's looking at the players that you bring in, how it doesn't all fit and the puzzle pieces are just thrown on the floor.

You sit there and you turn the card table over in the den and you're like, this doesn't work. Then you have to start over and you realize, oh yeah, maybe the pieces were there after all. Manchester United fourteenth, Spurs fifteenth, Wolves, west Ham sixteenth seventeenth, both fourteen points clear with six matches to go, So the magic number is five. For Ipswich, magic number is five. Lester right

now is hanging on the edge of the cliff. Literally the rock has been cut out from underneath them and they're wiley coyote waiting for that moment in the cartoon where gravity takes hold. The rock has been cut on the edge of the cliff for Lester once again, six matches to go, their magic number is one. Anything happens if west Ham and Wolves win, and it's a massive

goal difference that you'd have to make up. But for all intents and purposes, if Wolves or west Ham win, then Wolves play Manchester United and west Ham plays Southampton. You could have a second relegation this weekend. If Wolve's in west Ham win, Lester goes down, So you could have that this weekend. But the question remained, is Southampton the worst ever promoted team ever in the history of the Premier League two four and twenty six. Russell Martin's

ideas did not work. People were screaming at Russell Martin, hey, maybe you should change. Russell Martin was like, nope, things didn't get better.

Speaker 2

He got sacked.

Speaker 1

You brought in Evan Zurich, who lasted one hundred and seven days, and you got relegated. Jeorch was out and now they're trying to figure out who they want to bring in for their new coach for next year when they're back in the Championship. They've scored twenty three goals in thirty two matches. They've given up seventy seven, so that is two and a third per match. They've lost four or five to one point in their last five

matches goal difference of minus fifty four. Lester's not that far behind Sorry Nicks four to six and twenty two. They've given up seventy two goals, they've only scored twenty seven. So that's where we are in the Premier League. With what happened this past weekend, Eddie Howe looks like it looks like Newcastle is making a contingency plan if Eddie Howe is not available to them for the remainder.

Speaker 2

Of the season because.

Speaker 1

He is being treated for pneumonia and Jason Tindall is right now. Caretaker manager admitted that there is no time frame for any kind of an Eddie Howe return is in the hospital after being treated for pneumonia, so it's going to be Jason Tenda leading at least in the midweek. Hasn't spoken to how since his admission to hospital late last Friday, only well enough to exchange brief text messages. Hopes to have a conversation with Eddie Howe in the next couple of days.

Speaker 2

I would have met. This is Jason Tendall.

Speaker 1

I would imagine that in the next couple of days, if he's feeling better, there will be dialogue. So Tendall will be assisted by first team coach Graham Jones, and they've challenged the group to sit there and continue to make sure that, uh, the standard is the same. And David, I think you're probably I mean, David, I could see it is it is a cursed number instead of a lucky number, magic number, Yeah, I mean it instead of a magic number.

Speaker 2

It guess what's the difference, what's the difference in? What's the difference in and magic?

Speaker 1

What will be the opposite of a magic It's not a well when magic when a magic trick goes wrong, Instead of a magic number, I mean it is a curse number.

Speaker 2

It is a it is.

Speaker 1

It is a number that is sending you down back to where you came from. So it is a it is. I mean, Southampton's cursed. There already relegated, they're already out the door. But question, but what do you call it?

Speaker 2

Said?

Speaker 1

Okay, here's the this is the QoD. All right, this is what I need everybody to think on. Instead of a magic number, what's the opposite? What is the opposite of a magic number? We all have magic numbers. We know the magic gate ball, we know this, we know this. What's the different what's a different one? What's a different one? That's the question David has posed the QoD Morning Local. So let's see morning Morning Local, Morning, Alex Morning, Michael Valverdi, Morning, David,

Morning Rich. Oh and oh and morning Derek. And let's see who I miss? Oh and a question? Oh, this was Rich's conspiracy theory. By the way, going back to MLS, Vancouver's success is either aploy for a new stadium or to drive the team sell price up, probably the latter. But you're spending well, and I will I will admit this in conversations that.

Speaker 2

I have had with Canadian media members.

Speaker 1

There is a legitimate concern that the white Caps will not stay. There is a legitimate concern that the white Caps will not stay and that whomever buys the club will move them out of Vancouver and take them to wherever that new market is. So that that is something too, uh, that is something to keep an eye on as a part of all of this, keep an eye going forward

on the sale of the Vancouver white Caps. And we might have to catch up with with our friends in Vancouver about this, and I know we'll probably have to catch up with say Christian Jack at One Soccer or Buddy James Sharmon up in Toronto. But there is a concern about the future of the white Caps, and I mean with what with what the ownership group did when they when they picked up the group for a song and a dance, I think it was what fifty million bucks.

What they've been able to do, and they've they've looked at things wisely. They have found the right coach, they've found the right they've found the right recipes multiple times over. They just haven't been able to get past that one marker. The current ownership group has done really well. But then there's just a time where you're you know, you're tapped out. You know you've got to go. And so keep an eye on the white Caps sale and we'll see what

the future is. Definitely, we'll see what the future is when it comes to the Vancouver White Cap. So that was that that that is going to be one of one of them their stories going forward here is that you look at it and what's it going to be? Is what's it gonna be when it comes to Vancouver white Caps?

Speaker 2

Do they stay? But the question is where would you go? Where would you go if you're the white Caps.

Speaker 1

Champions League once again? Three o'clock Aston Villa, PSG, Dortmund and Barsa. Villa is a dog at home. PSG's a plus one ten, Villa's a plus two fifteen ninety minute draws A plus two eighty. Dortmund a dog at home to Barsa. Barsa's a minus one oh six draws a plus three oh nine. Dortmund is a plus two forty four.

Right now tomorrow, Bayern favored on the road at ter the inter not like writers here on this particular side of the UH Atlantic wish to refer to Messian friends, because you can't do that real Madrid is a favorite at home of a minus one forty five against Arsenal who's a plus three fifty. So that's the rundown of all of the things that are going on that are going on today when it comes to all of your numbers and your juice boxes and all those kinds of things.

I'm trying to see if there's anything else that is that is there, that is on the board this morning. Let me check, let me roll through the let me roll through all of the let me roll through all of the headlines, and all of the the gossip perman and youendo, I know, we have to to look at some of that.

Speaker 2

Let's see. Try. Like I said, I'm trying.

Speaker 1

I'm trying to check news and features here real quick and see if there's anything that I have skipped, and I don't want to I don't want to skip anything. EFL Trophy Peterburg Posh shocks Birmingham in the final of the EFL Trophy. Nothing on that one. Let's see that. Pneumonia missing the next two matches. But once again, the the plan is there, uh according to the Telegraph, spicking in the speaking in the Premier League and Donny Rola is ready to disappoint Spurs and stay at Bournemouth. With

what and Donny Rola has done at Bournemouth. I mean, there are a lot of folks who could be manager of the Year in the Premier League. And I know that you're gonna look at Arnest Lutt. I know, but you're gonna I know you're gonna do that. But you look at what Rola has done at Bournemouth, you look

at what Nuno has done at Forest. I would give those two just as much credence as you would with with with all the others that that to me, what would be I look, I look off of the I know this shocks you, but I'll look off the beaten track. And so for me, it would be somebody like Eroola. It would be somebody like Nuno that would be getting those those kinds of pundits, those kinds like those kinds of awards at the end of a year. You know,

that to me would be where I would go. Like I said, that's just like I said, I'm just wired that way. That's just that would be me first and foremost look, I get and I know that I'm probably sure that Liverpool fans are gonna come down, They're gonna

come down on me hard. But look the resources that you guys had in comparison, in comparison to have something like that, and you do with what Bill Foley has done, and you look at well and I'm still waiting for the root of the everybody to come home to roost when it comes to what we're gonna see with Nottingham Forest, because my gut tells me with forrest give it two years.

And Evangelinas Marinacus might be hanging around with an FFP charge or a PSR charge or both, but just to keep to keep that squared away.

Speaker 2

I'm thinking that that might be. I'm thinking that that might happen. That might happen.

Speaker 4

There.

Speaker 1

And there was a moment yesterday, by the way, in the Bournemouth match where you had a difficult moment for Marco Silva, and it was a confused official according to Marco Silva, who was trying to sub in the wrong player. So Semenia scored in the first minute. So Marco Silva claimed he was forced into a sub he didn't want to make because of a miscommunication with the officials, and he said that after the loss, Silva madd a triple sub into fifty seventh. Munis Berger and Sesignon were placing

him Andez Trialrey and Tom Kearney. When Sesignon's number was raised, Silva attempted to inform the fourth that an era had been made, but told that he was unable to change the sub. Silva after the match, we had enough time to correct it. I tried to correct it, but he decided not to let us correct it. The fourth was confused throughout the game in all circumstances. If you look at Marco Silva after the match, he was pretty hot. Didn't like the foul by Sinesi Nwaukee Anderson he thought

was worthy of a red. But he did say after the match his team was poor in the opening twenty five minutes, especially after going down in the first minute a goal. So ira Ola, when asked about it, said yes, definitely, it's a live for European football. Six match winless run really hurt them all the injuries that they had.

Speaker 2

To put up with.

Speaker 1

There was the the FA Cup match where you ended up with basically everybody. You had seven players who were injured. You had seven players who were injured in that matchup and they were all sitting in a booth at the Vitality. Legitimately, they were all sitting in a booth of the Vitality and it was all the big names and there was the matchup against Manchester City and so understandable why you

have that run of form that you did. Martin Ziegler at the time, somebody that you never really want to have, a guide, you would never want to have as a byline And I know this will shock you. Chelsea at the top of the agent spending charts again, fees reaching over sixty million pounds out spent every Premier League rival for the second you're running. Shelled out nearly three times more than Liverpool or Arsenal.

Speaker 2

In agent's fees. Agent's fees.

Speaker 1

Sixty point four million pounds going to intermediaries in the prem another six hundred and twenty two thousand in the WSL. Spent about three times as much on agents as Liverpool who spent twenty Arsenal who spent twenty two. But reason for optimism is that it was a drop from seventy five point one million that they spent the year before.

Speaker 2

SO sixty down fifteen U SO fifteen fifteen seven.

Speaker 1

Twenty percent so twenty percent less good for you, Chelsea So Chelsea net total spend on agent's fees sixty point three eight. Manchester City second at fifty two Manchester United. Manchester United third again for the second year in a row. Agent's fees for Manchester United thirty three million dollars pounds.

Speaker 2

She finished third in agent's fees.

Speaker 1

I imagine that when Surgeon Ratcliffe and everybody saw that at aenios. I'm sure that there were a couple of books that were sung across us a glass table in a conference room, and I'm fairly certain that Surgeon Ratcliffe was raging at some point as he was heading over to the coffee machine. The ROI on agent's fees is not applying very well at Manchester United.

Speaker 2

The rest of your top ten, by the.

Speaker 1

Way, Villa, Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool, west Ham Spurs and Brighton, and then.

Speaker 2

You know when you get out of the top seven, say.

Speaker 1

When you get to under twenty million, it's all kind of in a group. West Ham Spurs, Brighton born with Brentford Wolves, Forest Forest only dealing with thirteen million in Agenc fees. Considering that everything that they've invested in, every player they've invested in Fulham and Palace, that gets you through double digits, and that gets you through the top sixteen Lester, Everton, Southampton and Ipswich bottom four in agent fees and three of the bottom four in the league.

Not necessarily making a not necessarily making any kind of a correlation. But anyway, that's that's where that is, uh.

Speaker 2

David H.

Speaker 1

Derek is hoping that that the the city of Vancouver does not lose the GRIZ. I mean, it's a great football town. We've seen it in the past. It is a great football town. But the biggest thing is just making sure that you don't you know, that you don't overspend, you're welcome, you know, and Vancouver has done a great

job of that. But it makes you wonder though, with the next ownership group that was to come in, say if they would be just as locked in or would they trying to sit there and keep up with the Joneses or do whatever. Yes, David David, David has a suggestion, but they would need to have their own David's like well, you know, Memphis, like the Grizzlies. The Memphis white Caps has a lovely ring to it, like the Utah Jazz.

But the thing about Memphis, I mean David as a rule, is that it would end up as something akin to You're you're gonna need it, You're gonna need your own stadium. And that was part of the demise of Memphis nine oh one, was that they were trying to find real estate so they could have their own stadium and not play an auto zone. And the thing is, if you're Major League soccer, you've already got this going on in New York City. You don't want to play in baseball stadium.

I'm hoping that everything stays the way that it stays to make sure that you end up with a solid ownership group that does and just want to sit there and either not spend or is you know, above their skis when it comes to ownership. The shooters up. Good morning, Shooter, good to see you.
