Speaker 1

The welcome in. It's time for another morning espresso here on the SDH network. I'm Jason Longshore. All the soccer news you need to know. From Monday, February third, Atlanta United. Let's try to get caught up on everything since our last morning espresso. Miguel Almeron has been presented to the media. Our report from the press conference is up on the SDCH website, including some quotes from Chris Henderson and Garth Agerway that weren't part of the public portion of the

press conference. The team went over to Birmingham beat Birmingham Legion two nil in a preseason match. You can listen to the full time report over at Odyssey or off the Woodwork. You can listen to our postgame show live from Monday Night Brewing with Tyler Pilgrim, sitting in with us with myself with Madison Cruise with John Nelson. Our thoughts on the game, our thoughts on what might be coming today. Maybe perhaps we'll talk about that here just a second. All that is available for you. It was

a good win for Atlanta United. They'll be back in action on Wednesday, facing Orlando City from Bradenton, Florida at the IMG Academy. No plans for streaming on that one just yet, but stay tuned on plans for games from Bradenton. Hopefully things go well for that to happen. Let's get updated on Emmanuel lat day Laugh as of this morning.

Scott Wilson at the Northern Echo in his kind of scene center for the transfer deadline day madness with Middlesbrough, he said that he's expecting that the Emmanuel lat day Laugh transfer to Atlanta gets confirmed today. Now I told you in full time report and in our postgame show from Saturday night that watch Middlesbrough and what they do, and that should be your tell on how this is going. They are looking to add Calecchi Ianaco from Sevilla on

a season long loan. They have also added Samuel Illing Junior on loan from Aston More of a winger formerly of Juventus, but that's two editions on loan, so that maybe could go either way, but two additions in the attacking group. Middlesbrough are also linked along with Sunderland trying to get striker Adam Armstrong before the window shuts, but that one might be tough to pull off. The Telegraph reported that this morning so Middlesbrough's busy writers in Middlesbrough

are expecting that this deal gets done. We haven't heard from any of our Italian friends who have been reporting different things about this deal. There's even some reports from over the weekend that Latte Lath is already in Atlanta. I've not heard or seen that, but anything is possible

at this point. I don't know. So with reports that it could get confirmed today, I would say turn your notifications on and I would also say keep an eye on Middlesbrough because they might announce that it's done before anybody else does. So just stay tuned in all of it other silly season stuff. I'm gonna run through this quickly because there's a lot of things and they could change even before this actually posts. It's that fluid moment.

Most euro League windows close tonight local time. Sarah A, Portugal. They closed tomorrow night Turkey. A week later here we go Aston Villa. They have added Marcus Rashford on loan. They are close to adding Marco Asensio on loan from PSG. Manchester United. They got Patrick Dorgu Dunn from Leche. They are looking to get somebody else. It could be Mattistel from Bayern. It could be Christopher and Kunco from Chelsea.

It could be Leon Bailey from aston Villa, with Bailey maybe the priority as the other two seem to have stalled. West Ham have added Evan Ferguson from Brighton on loan until the end of the season. Chelsea could go back to Manchester United for Alejandro Garnatcho. Fifty million pounds is what's being talked about there. Joe Felix should be leaving Chelsea. Milan may be the most likely because, according to La Gazetto Dello Sport, Jorge Mendez will meet with Chelsea directors

pushing for the move. They want to transfer not alone. Milan doesn't want to pay a salary and pay him loan fee. They wanted a full transfer here, but for a low transfer fee. Arsenal they could go back to aston Villa for Ali Watkins. They want a striker. First offer was declined Tottenham. They're still trying to get Mark Gahey from Crystal Palace. Another offer has been rejected there. Tottenham and Manchester United could be battling it out to

get Liam de Lapp from Ipswich. Manchester City they're trying to get deals over the line for Nico Gonzalez midfielder from Porto and Douglas Luiz from Juventus. Neither one has done yet. Lloyd Kelly he's passed his medical at Juventus. He should be headed to Juventus from Newcastle. That could be announced at any time. Santiago Jimenez, the Mexican international striker. Multiple reports in Italy say he's going to wear the number seven at Milan. He's coming from Fianord It should

be announced today. He was at the San Siro to watch the match with Enter yesterday. Alvarro Morata has left Milan on loan to Galatasarai. I mean Rollheiser. He's at Benfica. He hasn't played a lot lately. Decent addition for Benfic. About nine million euro is what was reported when he was added, but he's not playing. They're interested in selling. Nobody's come with the right amount of money to sell yet. Neymar he made his big return to Santos yesterday, presented

to the club's fans. That's gonna be a fun one to watch. Some MLS updates on transfer day in Europe. Remember, MLS clubs can still add players after today. They don't. Don't get hung up on the You always have to remember the window talks about incoming for that country, not outgoing. Orlando is trying to add Marco Pasilich from h and k Rieka, the Croatian winger. It's not done yet. It was gonna happen then, it wasn't gonna happen. Now it might be back on. This one was gonna happen. Now

it might not happen. Edward Atwista from Palmyras to Orlando, according to Globo in Brazil, Palmyras not happy with the terms. They have reportedly halted the negotiations. Tom Bo says it could get close to getting done here. We'll see where that one falls. Houston Dynamo hasn't been announced yet, but they've reportedly acquired Jack McGlenn in a cash move for

two million dollars from Philadelphia. There's also some confusing elements with the Red Bulls and NYC holding percentages on Jack McGlenn and I don't know how that continues on, And I don't know how Philadelphia was allowed to sign him as a homegrown. With that being said, I guess it was all negotiated out. I don't know. The homegrown thing is getting more and more confusing with people's windows and areas and radiuses and all. It's just theyve got to

clean that up. It's getting too confusing. Red Bulls are reportedly close to signing Tim Parker as a free agent, as well Houston Dash of the NWSL. They've transferred Tarcian, their twenty one year old Brazilian defender, to leone seven hundred and ninety eight thousand dollars, the third highest transfer in the history of the women's game. Some quick updates

on the results from all over the world. Real Madrid they lost to Espanol at Letti one so Madrid's lead over at Letti is one point and they're going to play each other on Saturday. Barcelona four points back. They beat Alavese Harry Kane, first player in Bundesliga history to score fifty five goals in his first fifty games. Byron won four to three over Holston Keel. Pep Guardiola, very upset with his club, called them fragile for surrendering in

the closing stages. They lost five to one to Arsenal. City's hopes of being in the title race has been long gone, and there was a lot of talk about Arsenal players really giving erling Holland the business verbally, well erling Holland had some things to say after the last time that city beat Arsenal. So if you talk, you're going to get things through thrown back in your face. And don't complain about that. Don't complain about it. Nobody else should complain about it. If you want to talk,

that's cool. Receipts get kept and they're going to get thrown back at you, and that's just the price of talking sometimes. Celtic Callum McGregor. He made his five hundredth appearance for the club. They're ten points clear at the top of the table. They won three to one over Motherwell i Aks for twelve points clear at the top of the table. They won the Classicer in the Netherlands over Fianord Kenneth Taylor with the winner in the ninety

fourth minute. Let's go down to Argentina Independente. They're the only club to have won all three of their first games in the Opertura. They beat him Nacia two nil. They go to river Plate next. Kayler Navas he had a clean sheet in his debut in Argentina, helping NILS Old Boys beat Aldo Sivi one nil at the Estadio Marcelo Bielsa. Flamingo they won the super Copa do Brasil. On Sunday they beat both the Fogo three one pitch looked like a giant slipping slide. Women's game Barcelona, they

lost to Levante. Forty six games unbeaten before this for Barcelona, that streak's done. First loss at home in over eighty games going back to February twenty nineteen. Chelsea's women they go ten points clear at the top of the Women's Super League one nil win over Aston Villa. News from MLS the La Galaxy first cash trade deal is now done. They get four million dollars for Dan Joviolch Sporting Kansas City cuts the check. He scored the game winning goal in MLS Cup this year, but he was under a

U twenty two initiative slot. He's in the last year of that contract. The Galaxy weren't going to be able to sign him to a new designated player contract. They get something out of him and Sporting Kansas City gets a number nine that they've been chasing since they signed Alan Pulito and injuries really limited what we could see from that. This will be a fascinating one Sunday afternoon, kind of a fascinating game as well. Miami on their tour of the Americas, they played a preseason friendly in

Panama against Sporting San Miguelito. Miami won three to won their first preseason win of the year. Benjamin Kremashi and Todayo Ashende and Fafa Pico with the goals. Messi played seventy six minutes. He was removed after a weird sequence. I'mar Kundomi. Defender for Sporting San Migaalito found him twice in a minute. The first one was horrendous sliding challenge from behind an awful tackle, could have been a red straightaway.

The second one was just dumb and Messi seemed to be getting into angry Messi phase during all of this, So, oh, this is what happens sometimes when you're touring the world and playing teams and people trying to make a name for themselves by kicking the goat. Miami's got to be careful with that. Also, you saw the Messi's bodyguard actually got juked. This time. Somebody put the stutter step on him. He goes to ground. He got to MESSI and then the bodyguard I think, had a good laugh and pulled

him away. And there you go. But first time I've seen this the bodyguard get juked. I guess it's pre season for him too. Luci Gonzalez he has been hired by the San Jose Earthquakes to be their new academy director. He was their head coach. Recently, he was also Dallas's head coach. He was also in the Dallas Academy, taking over from Oscar Pereja and building that to a level of being one of the most respected academies in the Americas.

Other updates. Soda City FC of Columbia, South Carolina. They became the first ever back to back national champions of the UPSL last night out in California, Haiki Martin. He scored twice to help his side win. Check out the interview with him that I did last week before they left. It's on the YouTube channel here or wherever you get your podcasts Ricardo Peppy. He's re signed with PSV through

the middle of twenty thirty. Couple of things off the field as studiantes in Argentina, they are preparing to hold a vote by some of their fifty six thousand members on whether to accept private investment. Now, this has not been allowed in Argentina until recently, where clubs can do it.

The deal would be worth one hundred and fifty million dollars and the club would form a joint partnership with US businessman Foster Gillette, the son of Liverpool's former owner, and he has already been involved in providing money to get deals done for his Dediontes. It's been very confusing, very complicated. It feels like every move to every club in Argentina as Dudeiontes has tried to hijack it with

Foster Gillette money. This would be the first club to be in a private investment joint partnership kind of deal. The AFA, the Argentine Football Association, is firmly against the proposal. A lot of Argentine fans are against for profit clubs. The money's gonna be essential because you have a lot of these clubs right now in Argentina that yes, they have kept the nonprofit system and the social role of these clubs, but they're also broke and they're not paying

their bills. They're not paying their players. I don't know if it's right, wrong, whatever. I don't know if there's maybe a way in between. Brazil in twenty twenty one allowed clubs to transform into limited company. He's an attract

private investment. They have gotten the investment. Several clubs are now foreign owned, and it's kind of too early to say whether it's positive or negative, but you can see that Brazil financially has become by far the powerhouse of South America, with their clubs winning Copa Delbertadors and challenging at a top level, and you don't have many clubs from other countries doing that. Would this be a good

thing for Argentina. I don't know. I am a little skeptical of Foster Gillette in general and how all this has played out. But stay tuned. Bournemouth, they are putting together a group of clubs, Black Knight Football Club. Bill Foley is the American owner of Bournemouth. His investment group, Black Knight Football Club is completing a deal to buy Morerince, a mid table club in Portugal's First Division. They've already taken over at Laurent and France, they've already taken over

Auckland in New Zealand. They have a twenty five percent stake in Hibbs in Scotland. All the clubs would emulate the high energy, high pressing style that andoni Areola, the Spanish head coach at Bournemouth, has had success with. Interesting I mean, it's a multi club ownership group, but it's not big, big, big clubs. I'd like to see how this actually all fits together. All right, that's it for

the morning espresso. Like I've told you today, it's going to be crazy with rumors and things all over the place. If a afternoon cortado is needed, and maybe a latte, maybe that's needed this afternoon. We will be back then with another special update. Stay tuned. Make sure you got your notifications on soccer down here on all your social media platforms. Subscribe here on the YouTube channel. Make sure you're ready. Buckle up. John Nelson will have the Sdham

Show starting at nine to oh five this morning. You can watch that on Twitch, you can watch that on Facebook, you can watch that on x you can always watch that here on YouTube. And I'll be back tomorrow morning for espresso for sure. Got a feeling I might be back later today to talk a little bit more of all of these things on a crazy transferred deadline day at least in a lot of countries all over Europe and beyond, and it's going to affect everywhere, and just stay tuned, see you soon.
