Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso on the SDCH Network, brought to you by Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse. I'm Jason Longshore. A really busy weekend. We're going to try to get you caught up on all the big news that you need to know for Monday, August twenty fifth. Let's start
in Major League Soccer Charlotte. They extended their winning streak to seven matches, the longest in MLS this season, one nil win over the New York Red Bulls, Carolyn Vargas with the goal for the Crown, and they're closer to first place in the East than they are to the playoff line, now seven points behind Philadelphia, who leads the East, eight points ahead of Chicago, who is the last team
in the playoff spots. Seattle last night five to two winners over Sporting Kansas City, even though they rotated their lineup heavily ahead of a League's Cup semi final match, didn't really matter against Sporting Kansas City. Danny Mussofski, he's suspended for the league's Cup semifinal at the Galaxy. He had his first MLS hat trick fifteen goals across all competitions in twenty twenty five for Musofski, Colonia, Cosa, Rienzi and Snyder. Brunel also scored. Danny Lava had three assists
for the Sounders. Earlier in the weekend, Sam Surage he has retaken the Golden Boot race lead with two goals in Nashville's five to one demolition job of Orlando City and New York City. They're now four to zero to one in their last five games. They won in Cincinnati one nil. They've also added wins at Orlando and at home against Nashville in that five game stretch. Maybe the Pigeons are for real, Maybe Cincinnati. They're going to host Philadelphia next week in a big match with supporters shield
and top seed in the East implications. Yesterday, Atlanta United scoreless straw not a very pretty match in the one against Toronto at the Benz. Only six shots for Atlanta, no big chances created. It was a not a fun match. It was not one of the better performances that we've seen. I talked about it a lot leading into the full time report. I want to see more inspiration from this group, right now because yeah, I mean, the reality is you're not gonna make the playoffs. It's not official yet, but
it's the reality you're staring at. However, there's gotta be a better performance, take chances, try things, go for things, be more expansive in these moments, and they they were not. And it just felt and I felt better after talking about it. During the game, Ronnie Dila talked about it. He said that it felt too safe. The decisions were too safe from too many of the players in a game where look, if you lose, you lose. You can at least try to entertain and inspire, like going for
it and being more risk taking. And it just didn't happen. Very frustrating. Let's move around the world now, we're gonna go to Italy first, Sarah ah Us. Midfielder Weston McKenny was subjected to racist abuse after Juventus completed their two zero win over Parma. Juventus said this on Sunday. They posted a statement on social media saying McKenny was the target of quote discriminatory racist remarks by individuals in the away section he was warming up or warming down with
teammates on the pitch. This is after the game. The statement continued, Juventus strongly condemns this incident in any form of racism and will ensure full cooperation with the sporting justice authorities to identify those responsible. McKenny was a substitute in the match. Jonathan David from Canada scored in his
Syria debut for Juventus, a two zero win. In twenty twenty three, Fiorentina was hit with a suspended partial stadium ban after fans directed racist and discriminatory chance at McKenny and other Juventus players. What I will continue to say in these situations is okay, if this is Parma fans, it's at Juventus. Parma fans traveled here. If Parma has the ability to determine who was involved in this, and if they have the ability to definitively identify these people.
If they have season tickets, cancel them. If they don't, then don't let them buy tickets anymore. These things got to be cracked down on hard. It's just getting to a point where, you know, it happens all the time and there's not these stro long punishment being given to the individuals. You know, it's not Parma can only do so much. These fans are there on their own accord. Ban them, don't let them come back. Ban them from stadium sara A, you can identify them. Ban them from
stadiums all across the country. It's ridiculous. Let's go to Spain. Real Madrid coach Shabi Alonso. He started with Venetius Junior on the bench for the La Liga match at Oviedo, but he still played a decisive role. Came on in the second half, created a goal, scored another three nil win for Real Madrid, killing Himbape scored the other two. Madrid is one of three clubs so far with a one hundred percent perfect record after two games, but via
Reale is in the top spot in La Liga. They scored five without reply in a crushing win over Girona. Oh so soon. They beat Valencia one nil Orel Sosiadad came from two goals down to draw with Espanol to two at Letti. It's not a good start for Diego Simoni, and he said that supporters have every right to feel frustrated with the team. They were held to a one to one draw by promoted side Eltche in their match
on Saturday. At Leti took the lead and then couldn't hold off Elche, who just came up from the second division. At Leti's winless in league, thirteenth in the standings. Marcus Rashford he got his first start for Barcelona, but they were in the process of being stunned by Levante, trailing two nil when he was substituted second half the blow. Grana came all the way back to win the match. They leveled it early in the second half with two
goals in six minutes and then found a deflected winner late. Now, of course it's Barcelona, so there's still drama off the field. They don't know where they're going to have their first La Lega home match. This is still unknown. It's gonna be the weekend of September fourteenth against Valencia, we know that much. It could be at the Estada Johan Kreuz, but I don't think that meets La Liga rules. That's
been talked about already. It could be at the Olympic Stadium. However, Post Malone is playing concert there a couple days before, so they don't expect that the stadium would be available. They could play behind closed doors, but that is not
looking all that likely now. They had tried to request La Liga to switch the game and make it an away match and then playing Valencia at home later in the season, but Kadena Cope, the radio station, reports that La Liga have said no, They're not going to let Barcelona have a fourth straight game away from home to start the season. They say it's against the rules to change the order of the games in the calendar. If they had made this request before, then maybe it could
have been nailed down before the schedule was done. They haven't given an alternative to La Liga right now. It could be at Girona, which is about an hour north of Barcelona, and it could host under fifteen thousand fans there. Now.
Marca is reporting that Barcelona had targeted today as the date they wanted to send the certificate of completion to the city council as they could get start to the process of getting the opening license for the camp new to get it to the twenty seven thousand seats to be able to at least open it and do something there. No certificate of completion has been submitted to the city council yet there's no clarity on when that's gonna happen.
Barcelona loves their deadlines, and loves just flying right past them. They also have another deadline that they can't fly past. It's Thursday, where they have to explain to UEFA where they are going to play the league phase of the Champions League. You have to be in one stadium for
the entire league phase. YUEFA have allowed Barcelona to begin away from home to give them a little extra time that whatever stadium they choose will be ready, but right now looks like there's no way they're going to be able to secure Camp New in time for that. So Barcelona have secured the use of the Olympic Stadium through February if needed. Again, this is Barcelona, so of course there's drama off the field, and there's more. They're locked
in a race to register players with Laaligas. Still. They did get Joe on Garcia, he's in gold. They did get Marcus Rashford, he started on the weekend. They have not been able to register will Chock, Chesney, Gered Martin and Rooney Bargde. So can they get these done right now? You need you need the goalkeeper as a backup to Joe on Garcia. They're trying to get Martin's contract updated. That's their first priority. Then Chesney and then bart Ghee,
who was added the summer from f C Copenhagen. Hansei Flick likes him. He's nineteen years old. He wants them to stay with the first team, but Barcelona can't guarantee his registration and they can't register him as a Barcelona B team player. That's not going to be allowed. So how do they get this done? Who knows? And it's to the point now that Bargee's like, don't loan me out. I don't want to go anywhere else. Just have me
be with the reserve team. And I guess he can play with the reserve team, but he can't be a reserve team player and move up to play with the first team. The legal rules are crazy and this whole situation's crazy. We'll see if it gets any more clarification as we get closer to the end of the transfer window. Let's go to the Premier League Arsenal, big weekend for them. Eberecci Es was introduced to the crowd Arsenal hammered Leeds United five nil. Victor Yolkaris scored his first two goals
as a gunner. Almost saw the youngest goal scorer in Premier League history as Max Dowman, fifteen years old physic shot just wide. Now they're also chasing sixteen year old Shamrock Rovers midfielder Victor os Hian Vuna. We'll see if they can get that one done. He's a veteran compared to Dalmon and their squad depth. It could be added even more because now they are chasing Bayer levercues and defender and Ecuador international Piero in Kopier. That one could
go for another fifty million euro or so. That deal is advancing, according to reports, as in Kapyer wants to go to Arsenal than Tottenham Hotspur. Manchester United not great for them. One one draw with Fulham. Bruno fernanj sent a penalty into space. He runs hot and cold. He's their best player. But Tottenham Hotspur they're doing okay. They stunned Manchester City. They beat Pepside to nil with some ease on Saturday. They are chasing quite a few players.
Will get into that as we go. This morning. Everton they christened their new Hill Dickinson Stadium with a two nine win over Brighton. Really loud, one hundred and six decibels The crazy thing about this one so Ilimaninjai. He scored the last goal at Goodison Park last season and now he scored the first goal at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Kind of crazy bookends right there. Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City. He assisted on both Everton goals. Now
today in the Premier League, Newcastle will host Liverpool. This match has all the subplots. Alexander isak. He's going to be the focus of much of the conversation, even though he's not going to play broken friendships between Eddie Howe and Liverpool leadership those date back decades. That's going to be part of the background. Richard Hughes, the sporting director
for Liverpool. He was a teammate of Eddie Howe's at Portsmouth, played under him at Bournemouth, then joined the club's recruitment team and rose to the role of sporting director at Bournemouth, working alongside Howe. Not just colleagues, they were very very close, according to people who have worked with them. Mike Edwards, the chief exec of football for Liverpool. He was at Portsmouth in the early two thousands. His work as an
analyst attracted interest from how and Hughes. A bond developed at Portsmouth between the trio along with many other people who are at Liverpool now and some of the folks close to Eddie Howe suggests that he has felt more aggrieved than he's been willing to let on publicly about how everything has gone down as of late, specifically around Alexander Esach, but also at catequ and other possible transfer and he's felt kind of disrespected according to some around Newcastle.
It's a weird situation. I mean, Liverpool is doing business, Newcastle's trying to do business, but personal relationships are part of this conversation. There's just no way to avoid that. Very complicated the match itself, Let's talk about the on the field. Liverpool are unbeaten in the previous seventeen league meetings between these two teams, although Newcastle did defeat them
in the EFL Cup Final last year. The Reds have scored ninety goals in thirty nine games under Arnestlatt, giving them an average of two point three goals per match, best ratio by any Liverpool manager in the top flight. Newcastle have not scored in any of their last four Premier League matches without Alexander Esach in the team Let's go to the Bundesliga. In Germany, it was opening weekend. Harry Kane scored a second half hat trick, Michael Elise
bag two goals Byron obliterated RBI sig six nil. Caine opened his account in the sixty fourth minute, two more goals in the seventy fourth and seventy seventh, so a thirteen minute hat trick. Not too shabby, Levercus and they lost. Eric Tenhagg lost his first Bundesliga match. They had the lead, they ended up losing two to one to Hoffenheim. Meanwhile, Brusia Dortmund drew their league opener away at Saint Paul Lee in a six goal thriller. But it was what
happened after the game that has gotten some headlines. Rollin reports state that job Bellingham's parents have now been banned from Dortmun's dressing room. They were angry after seeing their son substituted at halftime and they were trying to confront the manager in the tunnel. According to Sky Sports Germany, Mark Bellingham, who also acts as his son's advisor, had
an emotional discussion with dortmunds Sporting director Sebastian Kel. The report states that Bellingham's father voiced his frustration over both the substitution and the team's overall performance. Okay. Build reported that Mark Bellingham saw a man a meeting with manager Niko Kovac directly and quote made no secret of his opinion. Unquote. Dortmund's managing director Lars Ricken tried to downplay everything on Sunday evening. He said the nature of the chat was okay.
He said it wasn't a problem, but he did confirm that an incident like this will not happen in the future with family members now banned from that area, all family members, not just the Bellinghams. But wow, that's some Yeah. If you ever wondered about Jude's behavior, Thomas Tookele's mother worries about Jude's behavior, I don't know, maybe this is where it comes from. Let's go to the NWSL records were set over the weekend on the attendance side BAYFC.
They lost three two to the Washington Spirit. They were down three nil and tried to come back and this one couldn't quite get all the way back. But they had forty ninety one fans at Sanford Cisco's Oracle Park, new NWSL record, new women's professional sports attendance record in the United States. The Kansas City for the club side,
not for national team stuff. The Kansas City Current, their dominant form at the top of the league, continued to nil win away at Portland on Saturday, fourteen to two and one overall nine oh to one in their last ten, twelve points ahead of second place Washington with nine games left, five straight clean sheets, as well four hundred and fifty two minutes without conceding a goal. World Cup draw. The announcement came on Friday. There had been early news links
saying it would be in Las Vegas. It will actually be in Washington, d C. At the Kennedy Center on Friday, December fifth. Groundbreaking initiative that FIFA is doing for this draw, Fans from each of the sixteen host cities will be able to participate in a special lottery for the chance to win complimentary admission to the draw saw VIP experience. A select number of admissions will be allocated to each host city, with the lottery procedures to be announced shortly.
Draw will be at noon on that Friday, December fifth. Further details including broadcast information the full procedures that's going to come out at FIFA dot Com in due course. The teams representing the host countries will be assigned to positions A one for Mexico, B one for Canada and D one for the US. That's per the match schedule that was released last year, as well as the final draw for the tournament being staged in Washington in December.
The FIFA Playoff Tournament a new event that will see six nations from five of the six confederations. UAPHA is going to have their own separate playoff for the final four European spots, so everybody else they're going to compete for two spots at the World Cup that's going to be hosted in North America in March of twenty twenty six. The FIFA Congress be held on April thirtieth in Vancouver and in the tournament will kick off on June eleventh
at the Estadio a Steca in Mexico City. So, in addition to Mexico, Canada, US ten nations have already qualified Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Ecuador, Iran, Japan, Jordan, South Korea, New Zealand and Uzbekistan. By the time the draw happens in December, forty two of the forty eight teams will be known. The final six spots will be in the playoffs that will be determined in March of
next year. More FIFA news, FIFA's told the continental confederations that the next Club World Cup will take place in the summer of twenty twenty nine, which kind of leaves katar out of it. They're not going to have it there in the summer. In another significant development, FIFA has told the confederations that the twenty twenty nine Club World Cup will likely feature more than thirty two teams now.
The Guardian reported back in June, it was funny how everybody was trashing this tournament before it started, and I tried to tell you, tried to tell you everybody wanted to trash it. A lot of US media, for some reason, wanted to downplay this tournament. And it's extremely frustrating when we do this because alongside that happening, a lot of major clubs in the world were saying, hey, we went in, Hey expand it, hey make it bigger, we want some
of that cash. Well, the lobbying has intensified since the tournament ended. Chelsea received eighty five million pounds from the seven hundred and fifty million pound prize and participation fund. FIFA are gonna expand it. They don't know if they're going to go all the way to forty eight teams though that's not guaranteed, but it will be more than
what we saw this past summer. Interesting. The Women's World Cup also do to expand to forty eight teams in twenty thirty one, which will be held in the United States and Mexico. Two edition thirty two teams. Obviously, it shows that FIFA is going to look to continue to expand these tournaments, and it also shows that the demand for expansion of these tournaments is there. FIFA is considering a different structure for the twenty twenty nine Club World Cup.
They could have a series of qualifying playoffs the week before the main tournament. They got lucky with the multi club ownership situation with Leone getting kicked out of this year's tournament and then having that playoff game with LAFC and Club America, and it went pretty well. It was a great match, a lot of drama. So now FIFA might have more of those in the week before the actual tournament starts. Let's get caught up on some silly
season updates. Gior Reina. He has completed his move from Barusha Dortmund to Barusha Munchen Gladbach was announced on Friday. He's out of contract at Dortmund in the summer, so they felt like, we're not going to sign him to a new deal, let's go ahead and move him now. John Luigi Donna Ruma at PSA. He has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Manchester City. Looked like he said as goodbyes on Friday night at the Park de Prince. He has, according to Fabrizio Romano, agreed to the move.
PSG and City are in talks. The initial the fee is expected to be under the fifty million euro request that PSG put out there. It also kind of depends on Ederson, who is attracting interest from Galatasarai. He was on the bench for Saturday's two zero loss to Tottenham Hotspur. Manchester United kind of thought they might get into the sweepstakes, but they have not. They are advancing in talks with
Royal Antwerp for goalkeeper Sene Lamans. They weren't I mean they've been linked with Emiliano Martinez at one point too. In the summer, they had kind of pushed that to the back burner unless Andrea Anana was sold. But now after the week opening weekend loss to Arsenal, they're back in the goalkeeper sweepstakes. Antwerp they're looking for a fee
for around twenty million euro for Lamans. Negotiations progressing. He's six foot four, He's played fifty two games in the Belgian Pro League and it would be competition for Onana rather than Onana definitely being on the way out Savinho, he remains at the top of Tottenham Hotspurs wanted list. Thomas Frank wants to sign him. Tottenham have indicated to Manchester City they're willing to pay over sixty million pounds for Savignho, who wants to make the move. We'll see
if that one can get done. Spurs are also chasing Nico Paz, the twenty year old attacker at Como and Argentina. This one's complicated because Fabricio Romano reported that Tottenham made an a bid of fifty million euro that was turned down. Then Como came back and said we want seventy million euro and Tottenham Hotspurs said, okay, we'll give you seventy million euro plus add ons, let's go, and Como still rejected that after saying that's what they wanted. Interesting, why
would this happen? Well, Nico Pause is formally a Como player, but as former club Real Madrid, they have an option to re sign him in twenty twenty six or twenty twenty seven for a fee of up to ten million euro. Well, maybe Madrid putting a little bit of pressure on Como and according to some of the reports, the Merengus will compensate Como according to Fabrizio Romano if they don't sell Nico pods elsewhere, so they'll pay a whole lot more than the ten million euro if they bring him back
in the future. So maybe a little bit of cash here, a little bit of pressure here, because this isn't just a one time thing with Madrid players going to Como in favorable deals very intriguing. So Spurs might get kind of trumped here by Real Madrid in this situation. Crystal Palace, they have tired to Atletti about a loan for Connor Gallagher. Bobby Mansey with the reporting on that might be tough to pull off in the final week of the window,
strong chance that he stays in Madrid. Alex Crook is reporting that Napoli are in advanced talks with Manchester United over rosmus Hoyland loan with conditional obligation to buy worth around forty pounds is being talked about plus the loan fee. In case you missed it, the African Nations Championship is going on. This started in two thousand and nine and it's a tournament where only players who play in their home country's domestic league can take part. I love the
concept of this. It rewards the players who are playing in domestic leagues, It boosts the domestic leagues and it also showcases them on a bigger platform. It's held every two years and in this year's tournament, Morocco has advanced to a semi final to face defending champion Senegal. That's going to be on Tuesday. But the other side of the bracket's fascinating Sudan. They stunned Algeria in a penalty shootout.
They are going to the semi final against Madagascar. So it's Sudan and Madagascar with players from their domestic leagues against Morocco and Senegal, so national team players from the domestic leagues. I love the concept. And as we start to see, especially CONCA CAF start to look at different competitions combo ball, I would love to see something like this. Could be a nice alternative in the summer or in the right spot in the calendar to do this sort
of thing in other parts of the world. I love that the African Confederation is doing this. I'm very intrigued to see how Sudan and Madagascar goes on Tuesday, other news from around the world. As we start to wrap up this edition of The Morning Espresso, Kevin de Bruyne. He scored on his Napoli debut on Saturday. They started their title defense with a pretty straightforward two zero win at promoted Sassuolo Milan and Luka Madris made his debut. They fell to a shock to one home loss to Kremenes,
another promoted team PSG. They got passed down Jerre one nil in legal Fabian Ruiz his second half goal secured a home win. Luis Enrique talked about it. With going so far in the Club World Cup, it's going to take them a while to get their rhythm because they they had that tournament, then they took a break, then they came back with really no preseason to get into the league season, so they're working themselves into form. They had a missed penalty in this one from Usman Demballe,
but they ground out the win. Romanian side FCU Crauvia they have been hit with the biggest points deduction I've ever heard of, ninety four points due to financial difficulties. So they're in the third tier of Romanian football. They were administratively relegated from the second tier. Now they sit on the bottom of the third division table at minus ninety four points. I mean, like, just kick them out.
What are we doing here? Digi Sport is reporting that the club have a deadline of September third to provide proof of payments to former players and coaches. If they don't more points deductions and they could also get excluded from leagues across the country. Just kick them out a ninety four point deduction, I mean, come on, that's silly. Wrexham, they were not going to allow Sheffield Wednesday fans to
bring anti defon Chanciri, the owner of Sheffield Wednesday. They weren't going to allow them to bring anti Chancirie banners into the race course ground, but then they switched that. Then co owner Rob Mack encouraged Wrexham fans to wear last season's gold away shirt in support of Wednesdays Black and Gold until it's sold campaign. They also put ten thousand of those shirts on sale and the Wrexham ownership said that profits of those sales would go to the
Sheffield Wednesday Supporters Trust. I like that. Cristiano Ronaldo. He became the first player in history to score one hundred competitive goals for four different clubs. The record was set in the Saudi Super Cup final Al Nasser and a lac Lee. But alongside setting that record, Cristiano Ronaldo also set another record. He became the first player ever to lose twelve finals. Suffered his third straight defeat in a final with Al Nasser. They lost in a penalty shootout
in the Saudi Super Cup final. Across his career, he's appeared in thirty seven finals. He's won twenty five of them, but he's the first player in the world to ever lose twelve finals. South Korea manager Hong Mung Bo has called up former German youth international Jens Castrop for next month friendlies against the United States in Mexico. This is the first time that a mixed herod player has been
included in the South Korean men's national squad. Hong named the brusha munching glad back midfielder in his twenty six man squad. Today, South Korea's beginning preparations for next year's World Cup, their eleventh straight appearance in the tournament. Castrop is twenty two years old, born to a German father and a South Korean mother. Has been picked alongside son Hang Men PSG's Champions League winner Lee Kangen. But Castrop
was born in Dusseldorf. He played for Germany at the youth national team level from U sixteen to U twenty one ask FIFA to switch his international allegiance to South Korea this month. That is secured and he will be part of the squad for the games against the US in Mexico. On the women's side, Casey Fair became the first mixed heritage player to be selected for South Korea
at senior level. In twenty twenty three. She played in the Women's World Cup Brazil They're going to announce their roster for their last two World Cup qualifiers later today. Carlo Ancelotti is probably going to use this as a chance to see some new faces. The leak of the players who have already been informed of this suggests the list of surprises. Nine names in the leaked roster have never worn the national team jersey. That's a lot. Naymar is still a doubt so he has a thigh injury.
He's undergoing treatment ahead of Sunday's match against Fluminense. The federation is aware of the medical issue. Will be up to Ancelotti to decide whether to bring him back to the national team after almost two years. Last time he wore the national team jersey was in a loss to Uruguay in October of twenty twenty three when he injured his ACL. Let's go to Mexico Monterrey. They have taken the lead in League MX by a point following their three nil win over Nikasa kruz Asul. They are second.
They won one nil over to Luca Club America. They got a boost in the weekend Alan Saint Maximin He signed a two year deal with Club America in mid August. He made his day in Guadalajara against Atlas on Sunday night. Came on after the sixtieth minute mark team was trailing. He scored the winning goal in the eighty ninth minute. Allen Saint Maximum is becoming a Los Aguiles legend, very very quickly. Let's go to Argentina to wrap up this
edition of the Espresso Independente. They reported that they have identified quote twenty five of the criminals unquote who carried out the brutal beating against Universitadad de Chile fans and the Copa suit Americana match on Wednesday. Now, remember the universe of Dad de Chile fans started the whole problem even in the warm ups of the match, and this is part of the reporting that is out there now in Argentina. And you saw it if you watch the match.
Things being thrown from the upper level where the University Dad de Chile fans were down at Independente fans and over at Independente fans, all kinds of things. They broke a toilet, they threw things that I don't even want to talk about from said toilet. They threw a flash grenade. I mean, it was crazy, and there were all kinds of talk about getting the police involved to try to stop this. It was never allowed. Coma Ball wanted the
match to continue. All kinds of mismanagement by Combi Ball in this, all kinds of mismanagement by Independente in this as well, because even after it looked like this was stopping, when the match was stopped, Independente fans were able to and I say fans loosely, were able to get into the stand against a small number of University Died de Chile fans who had not left by this point, and
they were attacked and it was horrendous. So Independente announced that they were able to identify a group of the people involved in this quote. They will be expelled as members and the club is going to request banning them from life from attending matches. Independente says that they will continue to work alongside security forces until all those involved are identified. He's the club said there will be no exceptions or privileges. Whoever chose violence chose to oppose Independente.
Now more than one hundred Chileans were arrested by the police for their role in this. They were released almost two days later. Riots continued around the police station where they were being held. Comba Ball still hasn't resolved the on field portion of the chaos of this thing. It was abandoned, The match was abandoned early in the second half. Are both teams going to get kicked out of the Copa Sudamericana. Is Aleanzelima going to advance and basically a
walkover in the next round? Who knows? Again, it goes back to Combo bal being basically incompetent and they've got to figure this out. Independente it's got to figure this out as well on the security side of things, because
they have a lot of fault in this too. There's some reports out of Argentina saying that they were warned don't sell the tickets underneath this visiting section because you're going to create the opportunity for issues, which we saw play out all kinds of messes on the field in Argentina. Some good things Broca Juniors. They're finally getting going right now, Miguel mary Tielle his breakthrough goal, a late header from Edinson Cavani, two nil win at home for Boca against Bonfield.
They're finally starting to get going Boca. But the highlight in Argentina over the weekend. One of the highlights around the world over the weekend was on HELLD Maria a spectacular curling free kick from way out to lead Rosario Central to a one nil win in the Rosario Darby over Newell's Old Boys. An amazing moment. Go check out some of the videos that have come from that. Check out the free kick itself because it's ridiculous, and then
watch the coach reaction to it. Love to see this kind of stuff out of on hell D Maria still doing it for Rosario Central. That's going to do it. For this edition of The Morning Espresso. I'll be back tomorrow in a probably much shorter edition as there won't be a full weekend to recap but and Liverpool. I'm sure there will be some stories revolving around this one, both on the field and probably off the field. We'll
talk about it tomorrow. Big thanks to our friends at Oglethorpe University for sponsoring this and every edition of the Morning Espresso.
