On June 10, 2009 an internet bogeyman was born: Slenderman. And from this fictional evil, real evil was conceived in the real world. This may be the first truly fictional creature we have covered on this podcast, but a true mythology was built around this figure, and this is an intriguing case of digital folklore. And this folklore lead to to an actual attempted murder perpetrated by two 12-year-old girls.
