Episode description

On December 15,1967 at approximately 5 p.m., the U.S. Highway 35 bridge connecting Point Pleasant, West Virginia and Kanauga, Ohio suddenly collapsed into the Ohio River. Thirty-one vehicles fell with it, killing 46 people and seriously injuring nine more. Before the collapse, there were many sightings of a large winged humanoid with glowing red eyes in Point Pleasant, West Virginia; leading many to believe that the two incidents might be related. Sightings of this creature, dubbed the “Moth-Man” ceased after the bridge collapsed. So what is the connection between the Mothman and the Silver Bridge? Did the Mothman appear in Point Pleasant to warn the people about the impending disaster? Or did the Mothman cause the collapse? Did people in West Virginia actually see a large bird-like humanoid? Let’s discuss this high-flying monster on this episode of SnipeHunt.
