Recently, Facebook apologized to users after there was an issue that automatically sent mass friend requests.

On the evening of May 12, many Facebook users reflected on their accounts suddenly sending friend requests in bulk, causing some unnecessary trouble. As noted, this situation occurs mainly on the Facebook application (phone).


Speaking to the Daily Beast, a Meta spokesperson said the issue was related to a recent app update. "We have prevented this from happening and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."


This problem has been widely discussed on forums, social networks... According to Downdetector, as of the evening of May 12, there were hundreds of error reports related to the Facebook application, of which 66 % . had problems with the app, 25% related to the website and 9% couldn't login.
