while we review romance novels of varying caliber nailed it yeah look at us really good that has kind of become our unintentional elevator pitch but like it works it does work I'm like okay if someone has a better way to describe what we're doing here let us know we're happy to update the pitch sure yeah um okay but before we actually get into today's book we have our first ever Corrections Corner correction Corrections Club because we're smart Club is it sure we're we're
making this up on the Fly Cor subcommittee or sub Club but that feels that sounds either like BSM issue or like a Publix sub sandwich Enthusiast honestly it we are from Florida and we are and Pub Subs is part of the culture to be clear and like it was an integral part of my childhood yeah we could call it the sub Club Pub Club but I don't think anyone will know that we're here to do correction probably not um and for the record I recognize there are a lot of things that
we probably need to correct and words that we have mispronounced and things of that capacity this one however is specific to a book that we reviewed back um in either June or July I think called not so lucky by trilina uh so trilina the queen that she is we love trilina trilina listen to the episode and then let me know much like the whole historic Weasley twin debacle that I you'll just have to listen to former episodes uh I may have been reading a little too quickly and missed
a couple of words because there was a sex scene in not so lucky where I thought the there were like three males and one female and I thought that they were holding her legs and she was like doing like essentially like a k [ __ ] situation um and trilina was like y'all that's not what happened her feet were on the ground she was lifted to her feet not by her feet so my bad on that one and shout out to Trina for giving us that Insight yes um cuz we spent a while on that in the
episode I feel like because we were both so concerned like Amazed by the arm strength and sitting there like wow they spent a while on this that Chelsea just like legit misread so that was the uh first official sub Club Pub sub yep sure the thing is the next time we have an official Corrections corner I'm probably not going to remember that we tried naming it we're going to name it something else we're just going to it's going to be much like our our uh rating system it's going to be different
every time like we should just own that but if you have suggestions for what we should call the corrections committee uh holl at your girls because clearly the options that we've come up with today leave some to be desired sure sure we could do better um but I would like to leave Corrections corner for real Corrections like that and not Corrections where it's just like hey Chelsea you keep mispronouncing these words cuz that's really just me trying my best with a
decent amount of alcohol sure sure um but I do get it and you know feel free to correct me if you need to I walk it back noted and understood well I was just thinking if there's something I'm like consistently mispronouncing sure like yeah let me know like on uh I remember on my favorite murder they kept saying Appalachia oh yeah yeah and people were like respectfully Appalachia yeah if you keep saying Appalachia I'm going throw an Pacha I need you to stop right that's
good uh so if there's something like that yes please please let me know if it's like when I said everybody gets a blow job I don't think that needs to be in the corrections corner you know share whatever Corrections you feel you would like to and then maybe the subcommittee can determine the pub subc commmittee yeah my God I wonder if we can door Dash Pub Subs anyway probably there are like two Publix is less than 10 minutes from my house that is for after the show that is the postrecording
reward for today I like that the actual book that we are reviewing today is called seeing double okay it's by clear we're starting off Lacy Chanel or Lacy shant well it's like even like the like about the author has both listed and Lacy is spelled differently interesting yeah so we we made some choices there but yeah Lacy chenel Lacy Chanel and when it's Chanel and not Shantel or whatever it was because maybe I'm wrong on that as well Lacy spelled l a c i e okay and then in
Lacy Shantel it's spelled l a y okay yes so h we made some choices um we open with Kenny Kenny is an 18-year-old girl um she's getting ready to go to a party with her boyfriend Jonas Jonah something he's really not relevant to anything that happens in this book um he's just a really useful plot tool at at the beginning of the story and is he a tool he is a a bit of a tool yes so Kenny's uh her dad died in a like school shooting like two years ago her mom is now remarried and married a man with
money in a way that like Kenny is not used to having money and she's like I'm used to like fishing trips with my dad and like this is a far bougier lifestyle than I grew up with and she has a stepbrother as well his name is Crest okay Crest Crest okay I don't know I'm having a difficult time with Crest and I don't know if it's because of the way that you chose to pronounce it or the the name itself you like hey Chelsea my issue is actually not with the content at all
it's a it's just with how you pronounced his name you just did it with so much intention Crest I kind okay can you say Crest without intention because I feel like every part of it is a very crisp crisp crest I feel like that should be part of a vocal warmup somewhere crisp Crest Timothy shalam you're uh making me think of like being in Middle School choir oh yeah yeah yeah yeah but also sometimes when I think about Middle School qu like whenever I think of my middle school like Arts
teachers they were always very reactive people they're different they're different like I my like middle school art teacher I remember we pissed her off so much when class she like locked herself in her Supply closet and I was like even as like a middle schooler I think I was in eighth grade I like you just left a room of 13 year olds unattended because someone hurt your feelings but like we're using Sharp Tools and like it's not watercolor Day [ __ ] get back out here process that
later my God yeah and I remember my like choir teacher it seemed like she'd be like I'm having a bad arthritis day and just put on like a Red Hot Chili Peppers documentary sort of energy mine put on Sister Act One Time which was probably our best class to be honest 1,000% did she not do Sister Act to that one actually has all of the students no she did Sister Act Two yeah no you're right well I was going to say Sister Act One feels like a slightly more daring actually I like they I like they
both have choirs so I see how we get there but at the same time I do feel like if you're showing one in school Sister Act 2 is prob yeah the the slightly safer option okay so anyway yeah like a toothpaste Crest I got it I'm on board now well with how much I pronounced it I think we know that it's spelled like the toothpaste uh-huh so uh Kenny goes to this party with her boyfriend and as she's like making a drink she sees like Crest walk in the kitchen and she's like why is he
at this party he wasn't really invited she goes to like join up with her boyfriend and she sees him like buying Coke and like snorting it at the table and she's like you know I'm not really about that and so she decides to bounce and call an Uber and like the boyfriend Falls her outside and he's like no one leaves Jonas behind like sort of like G yeah I will say a lot of the dialogue in this book feels a little one-dimensional in that way where it's like this is what
someone would say in this situation right and you're like would they Jonas feels like he's modeled after like the main villain in a 80s movie like nobody leaves Jonas behind yes like okay yeah and you're like okay Jonas go back to doing your Coke I'm just going to leave now and so she does she like takes an Uber home but when she gets back to the house she sees that uh like crest's bedroom door is normally locked and it's cracked open and she's like you know I've like never seen in his room and
he's at the party and I like want to I'm curious and I want to see space so she decides to Snoop and goes into his room and like sees a lot of tech gear in a way that she's like what this is this is more than just a normal bedroom and she like clicks on the one of the screens and suddenly like Crest is looking back at her uh but he's wearing different clothes than he was wearing at the party and she's like what sort of tech is this right uh and like it it clicks back off
and she kind of keeps looking around and snooping she also knows she shouldn't be there and is like getting really flustered uh there she's like gets a little disoriented and she's like I taste blood in my mouth oh no it happened again like it I told my mom it hadn't happened in a while and you're like what is happening I don't really know we like lost time she's a bit of a poor historian she's also 18 and this book very much reads like you have an 18-year-old heroine
like not all synapses are firing as one would hope right um which we will wrap into a chronic medical condition later oh okay but also so we're planting the seeds that like there's more going on 1,000% when she's trying to leave she goes like through another door and it's because she's apparently disort I'm like how many [ __ ] doors does he have in his bedroom it really can't be that many for you to be lost right but she goes into like a second tech room and it's like there's a room and
something that looks like a microwave in the center and then like something dings in the room she opens it and it fills with like I don't just very over-the-top dramatic but she picks up what she thinks is a silver pen and she's like what's this yeah why is this pen so important and she like tries to write with it and like she's like he made a pen and it's a shitty pen at that it doesn't even work but then the pin starts moving and like slithering up her body and she like can't get it off of
her and she's like starting to freak out it like it like goes under the sleeve of her dress um do you remember the mummy of of course yeah the Cinematic Masterpiece of 1999 Brandon Frasier and rer wise and all their Glory I know why Weiss I think okay yeah um did you know that their son in the sequel was actually uh in the running to play Harry Potter and he turned out like he dropped out because he was so obsessed with the mummy and apparently knew so much trivia
that they would like ask him to make sure that like there was continuity of the story line right yeah I always found that to be a very endearing but yeah the Cinematic Masterpiece well you remember like when the bugs go under the SK like that's what I'm like imagining here and so Crest comes in and like sees what's happening and he's back in the clothes that he was wearing at the party uh that she was at and he comes over to help and like pulls her hair back when he like
sees where it is and he's like [ __ ] and right as he's like oh no she experiences excruciating pain and passes out sure as one does yeah right yeah if I had a nickel for every time I went to a party and that's how it ended with some guy pulling your hair and you passing out yes some and as the mystery Tech implanted itself within my person oh that part not the other part I got you okay yeah the number of nickels I have very depending on what part we're depending on context if it's the tech
part so many nickel I was going to say no nickel and you're like at least 20 nickel yeah all the Nick you know okay so when Kenny comes to she like is having a little bit of like double vision and it almost seems like there's like an overlay and she's like what is happening and she sees Crest again but it's like Crest dressed up in the fancy clothes and she's like but you were just wearing the normal clothes when you came in here and so we we learn as Crest explains her here in this
moment that she accidentally inserted inserted herself with a they call this Tech the stinger and so the Stinger attached itself to her like brain stem and spinal cord and it allows you to share all five senses with someone who also has the Stinger in them so Crest has a secret twin brother named Trotter I was just really trying to over pronounce it his name is Trotter Crest and Trotter and at one point she asks if those are their like code names and and Crest says yes and then like at the very
end of the book she's like wait what are your real names he's like oh I was just being sassy so apparently their names are Crest and TR there's no shade name your children what you want sure well I'm just thinking about I'm like okay it's a real missed opportunity for Trotter because in the gay community you have otter and all I can think about is if he were Trotter the otter he would clean up you would be like well known I think you could write that book I could write that
book not well so I won't well but I think we've recorded enough episodes to know someone else will write it not well so we may as well get your version too that's an excellent point yeah also I'll file that away you can't get better at the craft if you don't practice it a thank you that's so inspiring I watch a lot of Boss baby excellent there's a scene in Boss baby where like the brothers are like riding the their bike and the baby who's the boss sure Alec Baldwin is like trying to give him
directions but like not real directions he's just saying like work inspirational quotes so like that you find on a poster yeah where it's like aim for failure and you and you'll always succeed and they're like what and he's like aim away from failure and he's like that's not actual directions I need a left or right yes left or right also I'm a child riding a bike maybe I need other instructions as a whole here yeah so we learned that Trotter has the other device and so Trotter is
undercover uh he's a secret agent they're all secret agents obviously Crest is like The Tech Guy secret agent and then Trotter his twin his secret twin brother is the one who does the field work okay um so Trotter and Kenny can now like share all five senses and like link into each other H yeah so it's not like all the time it has to be intentional they're intentionally sharing yeah but she like doesn't know how to control it yet right um so Trotter can like click in and like
click off but Kenny's a little bit more like Trot you here you there God it's me Margaret yes and I'm like just shouting for him I don't think is is the secret to she I mean she figures it out throughout the book but yeah that that's where we start for sure um their dad is Oscar obviously that's the uh Kenny's stepdad okay and he's also involved in all of this which you think he has to be because like you you got to know you have twins right I was going to say like you would know
that your other kid is not there and hasn't been for two years yes right well I don't know if it's they've been together a whole two years so I will her dad died two years ago I don't know how long they've been remarried I got you I got you um not that that really matters in in the long run but does does any of it does anything matter in the long run you tell me we about to get into a therapeutic for me the answer is generally no like it's just not that deep honestly isn't life easier when
you're like it's not that deep so much easier like what freeing words to live by I know um yeah so they're all on assignment when Oscar went undercover and was like on a mission he met Kenny's mom at some event um and then like convinced the powers that be that it would be a good opportunity for his cover and uh Kenny's like asking CR like I don't like how is my mom a good opportunity for his cover and he's like we're hunting a really bad man that's all you really need to know right now
like you don't need more details is it her dad I don't know sorry like it came out of my mouth and then I was like Hannah that might be the very obvious plot twist that we all saw coming who can say what what so your hand tightened a little bit as you went and it looked a little more sexual than I think you realized and I and then I'm glad that I could just make sure everyone knew that look like I was going to bring my hand up to my mouth and then I didn't and so I
just you just brought it halfway and closed your fist [Laughter] oh my God okay uh we're doing a really good job okay so we're hunting a bad man who may or may not be Kenny's dad yeah you get it so the next morning Kenny wakes up and Trotter's already like linked in and he's making jokes like she's like looking down and like sees that she's wearing Crest clothes and like tr's like oh like is like this what I have to look forward to in the mornings like I was hoping you'd be
wearing a little less right sort of energy um Oscar and Crest tell Kenny that they're all going on a mission because she has the Stinger in her head so she's now part of the team oh congratulations buddy yeah so you know nothing like an 18-year-old with no real experience who just gets some tech in their head to become part of the super secret spy team how old are Crest and Trotter I want to say early to mid 20s okay because that feels right in my heart I don't
know fair enough I don't know if I have the numbers to back that up fair enough I mean I'm comfortable with that that feels accurate for for this situation yeah they're not as young as her they're her older stepb brothers right but I'm yeah I'd say early to mid 20s Final Answer could be wrong I don't give a [ __ ] if I am I'm not putting it in the pub sub Club okay so they're all going to Italy on this Mission uh they're telling Kenny's mom that they're all going on a
bonding trip to go fishing on their yacht and Oscar's like yeah I'm just going to like send your mom to the spa it'll be chill don't you worry and so we all just accept it sure okay I'm I'm accepting yes uh Trotter TAPS in like when she's showering and so she like looks up so he like can't see her vision and see and he's like what are you what are you doing do you do you need to look down sort of energy uh but he's telling her the the plan for the deal that's going
to go down when they get to Italy and tells her to relay it to Crest and Oscar and he starts uh I know we always talk about how soon the nicknames start right yeah uh so this the the nickname is about to start for Trotter it's pigeon and he calls her pigeon the entire book cuz she's his personal carrier pigeon unfortunate yeah and then like later on like they'll like Be In the Heat of the Moment and he'll be that's right little bird like I just I mean little bird
feels better than pigeon yeah but I think it's because pigeon was already used too many sentences in a row so they had to change it up with the little bird more of that sort of I do agree little bird is objectively sexier than pigeon it feels less derogatory like not that pigeon is derogatory but I'm just like you know they're carriers of disease and they're kind of well then Crest sets her P like gets her a pass uh passport and gives her a code name and so he calls her Everest
because it's one of the most beautiful sites in the world or so p pig so we have two ends of the spectrum here pigeon and Everest why are you like she's got both hands holding her head in distress okay the Everest pigeon it's like the males Falcon only different the American Eagle that no I was thinking never mind this film Noir is a whole thing with the mald Falcon but oh yeah that is a thing I know nothing about it's not really relevant to anything but it's like in
the 40s and 50s there were like film Noir became more popular and there's a whole thing about a males Falcon and everybody's it's like the Holy Grail almost everybody's looking for the mald Falcon so I thought of it fascinating the other thing I was thinking about is in um Flash Gordon they have these uh worms or something they're like all over somebody this is in like 1959 or something these worms everywhere and this one chick keeps going not the poor worms and like
rubbing all over herself trying to get the worms off of her and that's all I could think about when you were talking about this thing embedding under her skin I was like not the B worms but I knew you wouldn't know what that meant you are right you not the poor not the poor I think my favorite is the tone and the Motions in which you used to depict it well if you liked that you should check out uh the bald and the Beautiful when TS Madison is on because she does an incredible impression of it
it's just all boobs the bald and the Beautiful yeah I canceled my PornHub subscription it's Trixie Mattel and K's podcast I'm learning so many things I know nothing about oh my God okay so we're do I need to start an only fans it's going to be fairy Niche not the B worms I was it's just going to be called I'm starting to only offense called the bald and the Beautiful I feel like if it became popular Trixie Mattel and Kata would have issues with it probably yeah also well oo I almost said
neither of us are bald then I went well so sorry that that see that was the whole joke about pornub was out anyone's head oh my God okay so they're on the flight to Italy sure we're in Italy okay and well so on the flight there Oscar is like getting annoyed because he wants Kenny to like Link in and be able to like engage and talk to Trotter and get more info and she's just really struggling and he's like really being a dick about it and is just like you need to figure this out like this is
unacceptable you wanted to be on this Mission and just kind of like storms off and then Crest is like looking at Kenny and he's like it took Trotter months to be able to figure out how to do that like he's stressed he's not being fair like don't don't take it to heart and Kenny's like why do you call him Oscar instead of dad and he's like well because he's always been more of a Handler than a dad and like right how our relationship is been and he's never really like done the dad things and
Kenny's like you know I get that like my dad did all of those things and if you didn't have those I I understand the the struggle right the disconnect mhm and then like Crest like rest her head on his lap and like get some sleep before we get to Italy and it's kind of a yeah I guess it's sweet enough whatever she wakes up and is very horny okay I believe they're still on the flight uh and she's all like limbs are Tangled with Crest and they're all kind of like wrapped up but she's
realizing She's Horny because she's like linked into Trotter and he's about to get some dick no not some dick he's about to lay pipe that's the wording there it is I haven't even had that much wine you haven't no I need more for this book yeah well I put about to get [ __ ] down and then I realized he's doing the [ __ ] he's doing the [ __ ] silly goose f a nickel for every time I use the wrong word to describe a sexual encounter I would have several nickels after I was going to say at least two
per episode I was trying to give you so much more you really were honestly I should probably give myself more more credit cuz I'm like I'm [ __ ] up those words every episode and you're like hey Chelsea there was that one time you said everybody gets a [ __ ] but I was also for the record hand I don't think you've ever said this I was going to say everybody gets conolingus a blow which is also wrong if Rihanna can say everyone gets a [ __ ] so can I yes you can you're basically
Rihanna you nailed [Music] it okay well that felt hurtful yes you can Chelsea you're like a little Rihanna in training you say it oh no uh but then Trotter's like pigeon the [ __ ] are you doing here and she's like I don't know and he I just woke up yeah and he's like you're the one who like established that link like that one wasn't me but he does cut it off well that's nice of him to do yes very kind yes benevolent fellow that that Trotter they get to Italy and they're telling uh
Kenny that she's going to be extra eyes at the gala where one of the big meetings is going down uh and like Trout's annoyed on her behalf because he's like you have no training right this feels very unsafe yes to put an 18-year-old girl with no training into a potentially risky situation and he is like can feel her anxiety and like feel her like getting stressed out as they're sharing senses so he's like control your thoughts like cuz he can feel all of those physical changes within her um but
also he can feel the physical changes within her when she's like looking over at Crest and like getting a little tingly he's very hot tr's like oh okay well if he's hot I'm hot twins yes feel that too nailed it uh they she's getting ready for the gala she ends up kissing Crest before she goes I don't know it's all a little messy sure the whole thing is she asks like what like the mission objectives are and they're like you don't need to worry about that you're just there to be
eyes in the room I would be so mad if I were her yeah personally but I feel like here's the thing I feel like she gets mad on this book but it's often at like the wrong thing in those moments right yeah whatever okay going further because I could just go on so many side tangents with this at the gala she's wandering This creepy dude named Drake comes up to her and is uh like oh you're like the most beautiful woman in the room sort of energy and she's like it does that
normally work and he's like well what normally works is when I tell women that I have a private jet in an island and we can fly there tomorrow and she's like ick yeah she's like I'm not really impressed you have anything else to offer and I'm like good for you girl so she excuses herself to like use the bathroom and try and get away from Drake uh but she does also like see Trotter and he's at the gala and he has eyes on her as like Drake is talking to her like
she can like feel his jealousy through their link right so she excuses herself to use the bathroom and then the target arrives to the event but her view is blocked and she can't see them at all and so she's trying to follow and like do what she thinks she's supposed to do and like Drake ends up following her and then is like very handsy and he blocks the door and it's just like one of continued like messy situation um right highly avoidable messy situation yes that as
well yeah everything in this book feels avoidable yeah lock your door crest yeah very simple solution from the jump which he does say at the end of the book like at some point he's like yeah the only reason my my door was unlocked was because I was in a rush to like follow you to the party to like make sure you were safe sort of like everything but even at that I'm like okay even if he didn't lock the door we have so many different choices we we could have made
at any point you didn't need to take Kenny to Italy she can link into him from wherever mhm so if you already have eyes and ears in a situation cuz Trotter is there does it really [ __ ] matter where she is cuz she's not a trained field agent she's an 18-year-old girl I think we can tell how I felt a little bit I am picking it up the exasperation yes the exasperation she uh it's like consumed by Trotter's rage because they're LinkedIn as Dr is all of this and like kind of like is fueled by
Trotter's rage to like KNE Drake and the balls and then bolts um she's kind of aimlessly wandering in her Panic of like what of the almost that just happened and um an a door opens and like Crest pulls her in real fast and it's like making sure she's safe and he like takes her back to the surveillance van where then she spends the next few hours LinkedIn and Rel laying the info from trod which is what she should have [ __ ] been doing the whole time if you ask meh MH yeah I'm like oh the more
logical solution that was at in front of us this entire time right so yeah she's just sitting in the van now listening to Trotter and we do learn here that the target is a biot terrorist who like wants to release a chemical agent in the air that can like decimate several square miles but like the chem the chemical hasn't been made yet that's part of the whole deal right so they're trying to prevent it from even being created yeah okay uh but also because she's LinkedIn and Drake is like
at this meeting that Trotter's in about this deal she's like trod like intentionally like spills his drink all over Drake he trips and she finds that very endearing because I you know I guess it was I guess it was indeed in hearing I'll give him that they this book oh I just this whole book is very reactive and I also think maybe they only paid someone to edit the first half of it and so it just gets even more convoluted but then I feel like as I'm trying to communicate
it my my communication is convoluted because it's convoluted but then I'm in my head cuz I'm like is this just a trilina pooi situation where I misread half of it so it's not actually convoluted and this is all just user error so as they're in the van they're getting a little bit closer and uh like Crest is saying like he wants to kill Drake and like Kenny's like yeah I felt Trotter almost like go after him while we were there and as Crest and Kenny are just getting closer in the van and kind
of having this moment she's like Trotter is like Linked In like he can feel and like he's very aware of all of this and Crest is like he can leave if he wants and then he fingers her in the van yeah and Trotter's like encouraging her like through the link he's like yeah ride his fingers sort of energy okay and they're like very Territorial and they're like nobody gets to touch you but us you're ours now okay what I feel like that escalated with swiftness yeah the step brother she's lived with
for years who apparently has just I guess had a secret crush on her or thought she was attractive and is trying to keep her safe yeah you know I call I guess I would call that a secret crush and then he has a twin brother and then she accidentally inserts a stinger AO into her person and now they're like you're ours and no one can touch you but us what she's like just trying to get off and now they're like I think she's here for the possessiveness I yeah I mean at 18 I feel
like I did not fully comprehend like that that's not cute yeah you know and to be fair I could see my husband saying nobody touches you but me and like yeah that feels like the appropriate time to say that right because we're married because we have a legally binding agreement I signed the paper that said that you're correct yeah right yeah um and also if you sign the paper and you have a different Dynam dynamic in your marriage then more power to you but the
uh just like territorial jealousy that you think is like sexy and cool when you're young and you're I'm like no yeah no not all about that life I was once at a 19-year-old's wedding reception yep uh and the it was like a family wedding reception and we were like I don't even know how we got there we weren't family uh but we were there and like one of the family friends that like the 18-year-old bride had kissed when she was like 13 and like had a crush on when she was
younger he was there and the 19-year-old groom had recently graduated from basic training and is like should I like lifts his shirt and like had a firearm on him and he's like should I prove a point no no you [ __ ] shouldn't prove a point as I'm sure you'll be shocked to hear that couple's no longer married but yeah just I'm like what is this like 19-year-old Macho it does doesn't read how you think it reads well it's that whole thing of like you know so many people now want to
be like the alpha or whatever but truly like we've had this discussion before a real Alpha does not go around picking fights because they don't need to like yes that's not what an alpha is about it's about taking care of people and showing up for them and meeting their needs you're like making sure everyone there is safe right yeah like unless you have a fanny with Band-Aids and Neosporin and juice boxes and snacks you're not an alpha okay so all soccer moms are alphas
it doesn't have to be a fanny pack it could be a messenger bag or cargo shorts for all I care unless unless you have a styrofoam cooler filled with orange slices you are not an alpha exactly you get it I okay so most Alphas are just at like family Parks or sporting events yes yes no other Alphas outside of if the love doesn't come with Neosporin and orange slices I don't want it okay so they're really territorial yeah um but it's also kind of back to business as usual after that happens uh
and oh because she like they turn their comms back on and Oscar is talking to them and like talking about getting back to the hotel um and something comes up like about like Kenny asks about crest's Mom and Crest just like kind of shuts down and doesn't respond and she's like oh he like doesn't want to talk to me um and then like really doesn't say anything to her the whole time they like go back to the hotel uh they they go to their separate rooms and she's just feeling super
agitated and I guess since her dad passed away uh we don't this this will come up in a second uh she really struggles with panic attacks and anxiety and so running has been very helpful and it's her like primary coping skill um and so she's like I think I'll go on a run but when she opens the door there's like a guard outside of it being like you can't leave your room you need to stay here for your safety she's like oh well like can you go tell Oscar I wanted to talk to him
and then as soon as he like goes inside Oscar's room she bolts and is going on a run cuz she's 18 she has limited coping resources she's in a weird situation she's G just going to do yes whatever yeah and I think that is kind of the frustrating thing because a lot of it feels like intent versus impact right where she's like but like I'm 18 and this is just like what I like thought was supposed to do in this situation like oh okay like it's all of the intent none of the reactive impact that comes
with an untrained 18-year-old being a field agent right um a couple miles into her run she like notices someone is following her which no [ __ ] someone's following you that's why they didn't want you to leave uh and then she like starts trying to evade them and taking random back roads and such and then eventually like trips and they're like catching up with her it's Trotter sure yeah it's been Trotter this whole time um and he like pushes her against the wall and they start making
out sure yeah as one does MH mhm I love that we just get in this zone of like sure why wouldn't that be what happens next yep yep of course yep don't know why I didn't guess that one well because if we start truly thinking about it we'll be here forever because we'll just be like that's wor [ __ ] and we'll go on a whole thing about why that's hor [ __ ] you know touche yeah yeah well and she's like why are you even here I'm not even important and he's like you're the most important thing to
us and she's like and he's like you didn't take your coms out and as soon as Crest saw that you left I like he let me know so I could come and make sure you were safe and then she's like looking at him and she's like is that blood on you and he's like Drake will never hurt you again so they're just implying that the he just [ __ ] killed Drake just casual murder yeah yeah as you do no that's not as you do like yeah it's not as I do well I'm just like does no
one here have the ability to use healthy coping skills well her only healthy coping skill is running and she it sounds like a bougie hotel is there not a treadmill somewhere that she can use I don't know I have questions I'm trying to give her a little bit of credit just a little bit I know right I'm I'm a little annoyed with her and I will say that let me work on being a little more positive and understanding of her experience but when she's like I'm not even important Trout's like when
I said no one gets to touch you but but us I meant it she's like you don't know me he's like I know I can't wait for my turn to be inside you okay yeah I had just taken a large gulp of wine before you said those words all right just on the streets of Italy I mean probably in an alley so I me if you're going to do that I guess an alley in Italy is probably you know I think they have a lot of them there yeah a lot of alleys yeah like I think I was just thinking it does
lend itself to secluded places sure sure sure like shadowy Corners yeah shadowy alleys to secretly [ __ ] like that that's how the Romans designed it obviously and that's why Rome wasn't built in a day because there were spots to [ __ ] because they were too busy making secluded sex spots you know kind of touche they run back to the hotel and Trout's like Crest is covering for you when you get inside like just go to your room you'll be good and so he goes back to his undercover
assignment and when she gets up to her room like Crest like opens her bedroom door and just like pulls her into it and he is pissed and she's like why do you even care you haven't spoken to me since the van and he's like the problem is I care too much this is very much like daytime soap opera yes it's giving daytime soap opo with like a secret twin and secret agents but like unedited yeah yeah yeah yeah so that is like I feel like some of this book is just a
little underdeveloped or like I see like what they're going for but I'm just like could we make this feel all right I feel like an [ __ ] for saying this I'm like but could we make it feel a little less juvenile in in their approaches MH um because I think between the sometimes Juvenile and reactive responses and then parts of the plot that aren't like fully like developed out it just feels even Messier and more convoluted and so there are things that I'm like I can't tell if she's supposed
to be this reactive or if it just reads that way because it's not well edited in pieces and and portions right the next morning Oscar is telling Kenny to get ready for whatever their new mission is cuz who the [ __ ] knows um in the bathroom Trotter links in and she like looks up from the mirror so that like can't see your titties sure and he's like let me see what I'll be waking up to every morning when all this is over give me them tickle Bitties I get it well we we aren't all as lucky as

you uh but as he's saying that and he's like oh like show me like what I'll be waking up to when all this is over she hears a woman in the background and he's like one second Rosa and then kind of like disconnects and she is filled with a lot of jealousy over whatever's happening on his undercover assignment she's like so you're trying to Ogle my boobies while talking to another womanless we forget he was [ __ ] down another woman very recently not getting
[ __ ] down or maybe he was I don't know what he and Rosa were into we're not here to judge no All God's Children to be clear Who We Are here to judge the book just not people's sexual choices um I have been reading Leviticus not the book of the Bible I was going to say what the W nope I oh wow I see yeah no I don't even know what my face did but it was a lot I see what happened there I was about to say by El Sparrow oh sure uh not by who wrote Leviticus Moses I don't know it's been a while
since I've taken an Old Testament class wasn't it one of the 12 it doesn't matter like the tribes probably it's it's been over a decade since I was in seminary it's been over a decade since I was in VBS which is where I would have gotten that trivia from if you were in VBS a decade ago I would have more questions you could still legally drink a decade ago oh my God it was two decades oh no it's like I saw a post where a professor was like I'll never recover from this
email and it was like is there um uh limit on how far back our references can go I found a great article from the late 1900s and I wasn't sure if that was okay deceased done oh my God and I was like oh God damn that's okay because the book of the Bible Leviticus is a is a ride unto itself so the book Leviticus by El Sparrow is a very fascinating uh book to me it's about I think like there are five brothers all of them will get a book but the uh the families all are in a cult and the
brothers are like making PL to escape the cult but haven't been able to escape yet so they're laying all their groundw work they know all of them are going to have to get married then they're going to like offer this freedom to these women as well but they've all gotten very into kink in their own individual lives as they've been like figuring out their world outside of this cult right and so Leviticus is he goes by Levi and the the brother Bartholomew goes by Ali

approaching communication of Kink yeah yeah yeah would recommend it ironically same author as XOXO daddy which has which is a different experience yeah different energy yes um I forget where we were cuz I decided to go on a very very long tangent she was getting jealous because Trot was in the Rosa that's how we started yes that that's how we got on that whole situation uh when she leaves the bathroom Crest is in her bedroom like waiting for her and just another
dramatic conversation where he's like I care don't think that I don't and she's like do you care for me like a brother and he's like is that what you want say it and I'll stop just like this feels like someone chat GPT may have been used at some point to help with the dialogue right right yes um Oscar comes in and is trying to prep Kenny um but like his his approach for prepping her for a mission is she like you need to take this seriously if you don't take it seriously
millions of people could die but like once again she's an untrained 18-year-old right what am I taking seriously give me specific things to do yes when most of what they have her doing is just like being the eyes and relaying the messages right give me a [ __ ] checklist Bud yeah you know like well so she starts to have like a full-blown panic attack and Trotter can feel it and he can tell and so trod and Crest over the years have like developed their own secret sign language it's not ASL but
they can communicate with each other and so Trotter is telling her he's like hey like make this sign like put like three fingers down on your left hand now put one like walking her through it and so then Crest sees and he's like hey Dad go pack like why don't you go finish packing and I'll like run the diagnostic on whatever T Kenny has or something like that um which was very kind and and very sweet um but she like officially tells them she has panic attacks that
she's had them since her dad passed away that running is really the only coping skill that she has uh and so Crest tells Kenny he's like hey like when you're linked into Trotter use him so like almost like as therapist when we talk about like using your five senses to ground you but it's like using his five senses where he is regulated and you are disregulated so use his regulation to ground you right like when you bre bre with someone or yes like okay what's he smelling right now name
five things you can hear it is a very helpful coping like that was not me [ __ ] on that coping making fun of it um but yeah that is essentially like Crest is telling her use Trotter to like ground yourself to do a 54321 yeah do a 54321 and Crest is like why didn't you tell me that you had these panic attacks and she's like because you weren't speaking to me just like the yeah all of this because it's none of your business like we weren't close why would I just
disclose it yeah well and so then he like you fingered me in a van bro like we're not like well I think she wanted it to be more and then he didn't talk to her so right I think in her head it's not just like she's like you you fingered me in a van and I expect full commitment now I'm like who gives a [ __ ] move on and she's like obviously this scans we going to get married and have babies which is such an 18-year-old thing you know and I feel like you're like yeah
you know like when you go to the club and you make out with a rando and then you leave the club and never see them again and you never think of it again and everything was fine yeah and she's like but his fingers have been inside of me will we not beat together forever now is more of the energy of it a they leave to plant cameras and mics before the meeting that they have tomorrow so that's the mission right now they are planting cameras proactively noted yes um they
are at the fancy restaurant where the meeting will be happening and she needs to get in well they need to get into a back room to plant the cameras Oscar and Kenny are at the table Oscar also always calls her Kennedy which is her full name but only her dad ever called her Kennedy so she gets like really annoyed whenever Oscar like CU she'll make it's Kenny and he'll just like keep talking over her sort of energy yeah so uh that's why it took me a second to say Kenny cuz I was
about to say Kennedy um but I do know her name I haven't had that much wine got it thank you yes thriving today Kenny this is my best work 1,00% so osar is like pointing at a guy in front of the door uh who's standing there and he's telling her like hey like he's going to be are in he uh is very into beautiful women and loves the Damsel in Distress and Trotter and Crest are getting annoyed because they're like what the [ __ ] is our dad about to do and like what situation they didn't prep her
for this at all like no Oscar didn't prep her for the fact that he was going to backhand her at the table in the restaurant and be like you [ __ ] like you can't leave me think I don't know you're cheating with the golf instructor I don't know if he actually said that last part but like that's very much the right the energy so then the dude I think his name is Miguel comes over to like rescue her and they escort well she really did need a rescue he's hitting her like
legitimately like did not uh did not slow play that whole situation but no one knew that that was Oscar's plan so like everyone is Big mad about this to use your words Miguel ends up taking uh Kenny into like the back room where she needed to be and lo and behold other people are also in that room including Trotter with another woman on his lap sure in his undercover assignment uh and there's like a card game going on and it's clearly like the high rollers and and all of those people
so like Miguel is actually he he does have an end goal but he brings her ice and he's like put this on your face then as he like hands her the ice he like pulls her onto his lap and she's like oh not not trying to go that that hard not where I wanted to sit actually yes and so he leans in to kiss her and she's like I need to use the bathroom cuz once again that's her only move it's her she has no training she just keeps she doesn't have any moves and she's just so beautiful men
keep hitting on her every place she goes oh the pretty privilege though uh the episodes of 30 Rock with John Ham incredible Matt and I just rewatched that oh we haven't rewat 30 Rock in a while yeah I don't know we just picked it up recently no I feel like I feel like that one used to be in rotation as like the we've watched it a thousand times but we'll watch it again Comfort comt yeah yes background yeah mhm uh I feel like Scrubs well I think for scrubs is one of mine but Vance was like not
into scrubs when it was more of a thing so I think now when he watches it he's like I don't yeah I don't really get different now it does yeah uh I would be very curious because I only listened to the first episode or two but I know uh Zack Brath and Donald fison had I listen to a few yeah I listen to like the first couple but I would curious cuz I don't know if they continued doing the reviews but yeah a lot of episodes they did a lot I think but I just remember at one point Zach

uh but all that said she goes to the bathroom again because that's her one move Trotter follows her I'm sure we're all surprised and like pushes her against the wall and his one move which is his one move he's like what like what did I say about like no one touches you but us and I'm like okay what the [ __ ] was home girl spell your dad slapped her across the face Miguel got her the in she needed I and he pulled her into he gave her ice he just wanted some sexual favors in
return and was set up to believe she was going to offer those sexual favors right Miguel's the real victim here Justice for Miguel like oh was it was it uh that Empire of lust series when K showed up and she's like justice for Amanda and we're like she was the villain she's like oh I missed that and like she kidnapped her own daughter how did we miss that she was the villain St one of the funniest it was really good cuz she was going to die on that [ __ ] Hill she's like Amanda was just
misunderstood was she was she though like musolini just deeply misunderstood so Trotter's doing his whole possessive didn't I say no one touches you but us and he's like pulling down the strap to her dress and like biting her boob doesn't say your nip just her boob which I think is an important thing to clarify I don't know why but it does feel like if you're not undressing someone right biting their nipples versus biting the meteor part around their nip sure you're like I'm just going to see
how far Chelsea goes with this and noted a r no what I was thinking was like like why like what are you doing like just the sensual touches you know you got her pushed against the wall you're biting her boob uh he tells her to leave the cameras and that he'll take care of it and he's like leave the cameras with me I'll place them like but like if he touches you again like I'm going to lose my [ __ ] and she's like you literally had a girl on your lap and he's like I'm
literally undercover and she's like me too I get it and so then Trotter like leans in and like whispering in her ear and just goes pull it Crest and then the fire alarm goes off and Trout's like you will be sneaking out the back door you will be handing me those cameras thank you so much you're not doing this right so I will say while Crest and Trotter are a little extra overp possessive they are also seeming aware that she's not trained and are trying to like fill in the deficits where their
dad is just like putting her into these dangerous situations means two and in and then is annoyed when she's not performing right so Oscar's a little bit of a dick in that capacity see that when Kenny gets outside uh Crest is there with a motorcycle and sure so then they just have like a great intimate motorcycle moment as you do as as one does yep they ride to the safe house where Crest has a change of clothes for her that she's not wearing a flimsy dress on the back of a
motorcycle and she realizes like she hasn't checked in with her mom or called her or updated her about anything this whole time and Crest has apparently been photoshopping a bunch of photos to look like they're on a fishing trip so he's like I'll upload them you can like give them to your mom whenever and Kenny's also overwhelmed because she's like my mom is all I've got but also like until my mom Met Your Dad she was destroyed when my dad died when like they were high school
SweeTarts thought they'd be together forever like was despondent couldn't pay the bills very much one of those situations where like Kenny had to become the adult right and not and changed the dynamic and the relationship with her mom um when they get back to the hotel Kenny tells off Oscar and it's like you will never put your hand on me again and my name is Kenny not Kennedy [ __ ] sort of I'm like I don't think we could have left it with the hands he knows your
name he's just an [ __ ] right but in that way where I'm like yeah you set those boundaries little 18-year-old you who he doesn't give a [ __ ] about he doesn't clearly yeah and like if he was willing to smack his stepdaughter across the face in public in public but it's also like well like had to do it for character did you feels like you could have just yelled at her like you know yeah well so the next day uh Kenny is Meandering through the streets of Italy as you do
yeah because they're like she's like they're in prepping for the meeting I'm like eyes but I'm just like being a tourist sort of energy ah Recon or whatever yeah be that's all she can do and she can't even do it well cuz dudes keep hitting on her another dude walks up and is flirting with her and so she I don't know if it's the bathroom this time but she does excuse herself to like go to the rendevu point but like on the way there she starts to feel funny and is just like oh no not now I've been
taking my meds and then just passes out on the streets in Italy I had another thought that's unrelated have you heard the song host depressed by thought Squad because if not you should I have not but I feel like I absolutely will by the end of the day the main Hook is These Hoes depressed not me I take my [Laughter] meds that's all I can think I've been taking my meds yeah she's like I'll beat that [ __ ] to death JK I take my meds I really enjoyed that Tik Tock trend for
a while where people were just uh dancing to shake what your mama gave you but they were just shaking their pill bottles of their anti-depressants 100% yep hit so hard cuz it hits so true that's how we got there so when Kenny wakes up she sees a guy standing over her who's like clearly distressed and he's like wearing a suit but like the jacket's off and then that guy has a twin brother who's wearing more casual clothes and she's like I don't know who these people are like she's asking where
her dad is oh no yeah then she sees like another older dude that she's like I don't know him but he looks like more my my dad's age and then suddenly like things are starting to come to where she's like oh like you're Oscar my dad is dead like the people stand like the guy standing over me are Trotter and crested um and so she tells them that she is uh diagnosed with I guess this is a diagnosis that I'm probably going to mispronounce but kiari type 1 malformation oh which I looked up it is
a a real diagnosis it seems like something with like your brain St something is a little longer than it should be and can cause dizziness and brain fog and confusion h um I will say I do not know enough about this diagnosis to make an informed decision about how I communicate about it I did accidentally write chabani malformation instead of I think kiari I I could be [ __ ] that up right um but also when I was like looking it up on Google and on the internet before we were
recording it kind kind of seem like you know when you watch like an episode of like CSI or like Law and Order yeah and like they're like this person's really erratic and they're like you don't understand they have ADHD they can't control their impulses and you're like oh I don't know if uh ADHD is really all-encompassing enough for what you're saying it does and so a little bit of the same situation here where this seems like if if this is a symptom that does happen it's it's a very rare
one in the in the real world but from how they describe it in the book it causes seizures which uh causes like short-term memory loss yeah um and so she can have moments where she'll just kind of like be a little disoriented much like when she was in Crest room and she's like why am I here how did I get here but like it's not very often that she has like full episodes where she like passes outs out yeah wakes up and is like who the [ __ ] are these people that's a little bit more of a
rarity and Oscar's immediately like [ __ ] that I didn't know this is no longer safe not that it was safe before but he's like you're no longer on the mission I'm sending you back to your mom right um like does it really make a difference Oscar if like you were just letting her just like gallivant around Italy pretending to be a secret agent this whole time whatever apparently it does the deal didn't happen uh and we learned that because Kenny where she passed out just
happened to be like in front of the meat spot and they're like yeah they got spooked when a girl passed out in front of the place where the meeting was supposed to go down whoops so it didn't happen but they're like not sure if Trotter's cover is blown within that but Oscar also was like looking at like the three of them and he's like I see what's happening here like I'm not naive to what's going on between like the three of you like I thought you could fight your urges instead you're
jeopardizing it all for his daughter much to your hypothesis from earlier so when Oscar leaves Kenny's like well I guess this is it I guess I'm going back to America and Crest is like I'm not so sure about that the they're having a hard time with their Tech to get the flight ready for you to go oh because I'm the best tech boy who ever teched direct quote too no no that was not a direct I was much feeling Chelsea shut the [ __ ] up I'm a big Tech boy if Mark Zuckerberg has fanfiction
I'm sure that's what it says I'm the best tech boy to ever Tech aren't I whoever Tech to Tech he oh my God uh Kenny apologizes for not telling the guys about her diagnosis and they're like if you apologize one more time I'm going to walk out that door and not do all the things I want to do to you before I have to leave okay yeah and then they all [ __ ] so not Oscar he's not there anymore just that's good just to be clear he wasn't invited to this party who wasn't invited
no he was not invited um Trotter well Crest is like should we like rock paper scissors for who goes first and tr's like you've already like had this experience so I'm calling dib sort of energy and then uh the sex is really mindblowing because they're like sharing their senses with each other so it's kind of like building on top of that and then Trotter is holding her arms behind her back as Crest [ __ ] her and it's so good they all learn she's a squirter sure including her fun yeah yeah so
yay did she do that thing because I feel like I've read it in multiple books now where she's like oh my go you have to stop like it feels too good I feel like I'm going to pee and the guy's like hell yeah do it and it's like a whole thing where the girl is freaking out you've got to stop reading those motorcycle club romances no it wasn't even just those it was other ones it wasn't even just those it was other ones too you know exactly what I'm talking about though where the girl is like
freaking out and the guy's like this is the best thing that's ever happened and the girl is like so distraught she wasn't distraught in this one it was more of like a o didn't know you were a squirter she's like me either it's more the energy that this one gives and it's like I guess when it's that good you learn things about yourself yeah so Trotter has to go he's going to try and like get back in the ranks and like see if his cover was blown but he plans on taking the whole
like yeah a girl passed out and everyone got spooked and then someone jumped me so he has Crest beat him up before but it's like this very dramatic where he's like I need to go and he's like wait in the shower Crest will join you sort of energy so that she won't it or feel it I guess so then Crest and Kenny take a shower together and they're like talking about their families and uh how distant Oscar is as a dad and Kenny's just like telling him about like sweet memories that she had with her dad
of like going on a lot of camping trips and like he would like taught her to hunt and and things like that so she does end up linking into troter and she can figure out how to engage and disengage it on her own at this point and she's like feeling all of his pain because Crest beat him up right um but she's like no I'm going to force myself to endure it so that I can give the play byplay to Crest to make sure that they know Trotter's safe okay yeah so trout in his undercover
role is essentially like the second in command for the guy Riley big intimidating name uh who's buying the bioweapon okay so that is his role and where he has been this whole time he uh has been facilitating the deal with the chemist so as apparently they they buy it that he was jumped and it's a non-issue but as the car arrives with the chemist uh Trotter is telling Kenny he's like hey cut the feed and she's like what like I don't understand and he's like I didn't want it to come to
this I didn't want you to find out this way I didn't want you to see this but can't he cut the feed he doesn't I yep these are these are questions that are apologies no apologies needed um but I will just be very clear in saying every question you have is a valid question that I also have and I have no answers okay I can accept that yes um so when he's like I didn't want it to come to this I didn't want you to to find out this way suddenly like through his
vision the guy getting out of the car is Joseph the chemist Kenny's father yeah this is the collective gasp none of us saw this coming no at no point in the recording of this episode have I even seen it coming this is brand new in I never could have prepared myself I am flabbergasted yes Hannah your face is the face of someone truly flabbergasted yeah that and a bulldozer would knock me over sorry Trotter is then like trying to talk to her and she just like fully
unlinks from it and Crest grabs her and like throws her in the van and once again she's big mad again sure yeah yeah I would be and Oscar doesn't care that she's big mad he's like hey my son is out there and you are my connection to making sure my son is safe so I need you to like get the [ __ ] over yourself and relink and like put on your big girl panties yes which like I do understand where Oscar is coming from and I also understand how this situation was entirely preventable
literally they would have justed her so many times like when she asked who's the target 15 [ __ ] times already yeah and they said you don't need to know no stress you're just doing surveillance that I need to smack you across the face for it's really feeling like they're choosing when she's an actual agent and when she's not we're cherry picking here yeah and Kenny's like like I like Oscar I hate you and when we get back I'm gonna tell my mom all of this and he's like yeah your mom
already knows oh damn link back in I need to make sure my son's safe here so as Kenny links back in things are in mass chaos like everyone is running people are shooting like things are not going great in this moment and uh her dad hops in like his Caravan of SUVs and is leaving and she's trying to wave down his like SUV and it's like Dad Dad I'm right here and like the the SUVs are not stopping and like Trotter tackles her so that she won't get run over by all of
these SUVs and then she looks and like realizes like Trotter was like shot at some point like tackled her so she wouldn't get hit by a car and she just like sees a motorcycle in the chaos and just hops on the motorcycle and decides to follow after her dad okay good luck Trotter yep like Trotter's holding aside bleeding on the ground and she speed Bud she's like my dad doesn't understand the bad people he's involved with a honey yep yeah no really uh unfortunate really choosing to believe
the version of this that she wants to believe right so she is following her dad and the Caravan of SUV but she's like looking over her shoulder at one point she like looks over her shoulder to see if she's being followed and the SUVs have all slammed on their brakes so she almost crashes into them and like wipes out on the motorcycle and gets like road rash and then her dad's goons grab her and they like talk about like dumping her body or what what have you
and she's like no like tell Joseph like I'm Kennedy like he'll like want to see me like I I swear I promise and so sure enough they're like yep talk to the boss he says like keep her and then they chloroform her and she passes out and when they get her in the car so when she comes to she's in an unknown location like being kept in a room with like a bed no toilet they're bringing a bucket for her sort of energy yeah um we're in a like dungeon situation a little bit Yeah and we we do
learn it's been five days that yeah like oh damn sometime has passed so she was like unconscious for that long or that's when we it seemed like they ended up putting her in like a medically induced coma when they got her there sort of thing like they chose to keep her sedated but also to like help her body heal from all of the the road rash and such so her dad comes in um Joseph and she's like he looks just like my dad but like has like different manner like
she's like this is not the guy I grew up with this is not the dad that like was my mom's high school sweetheart who took me on hiking and camping trip um and he's like oh she's like oh thank God like we we need to escape these are bad people and he and he's sitting there and he's like what were you doing in Italy and she's like that's not the question I no dad like these are bad people and she's like I well maybe actually she's not there yet I think she's playing a little bit more dumb and
so when he's like what were you doing in Italy she's a little bit more like I was on a fishing trip with my stepdad and step brother sort of sort of thing but like this goes on for apparently like over 2 weeks oh and they're just like he's questioning her for that long I don't know if he's questioning her for that long but they're like keeping her in the room for that long and like one of the guys is a little bit kinder to her and every day she's like how long have I
been here and she's like marking it like on the wall and so it's been over 14 days since she's been there um but has not really given her dad any info outside of being like Dad like what are you doing why why were you in Italy MH uh sort of thing mhm so a couple weeks into this um her dad wakes her up and like shaking her and he's like we need to escape like we need to go like right now like gra grab your stuff and let's go so like they're running they have
this whole plan like there's like a body of water they like Escape across the body of water and are swimming and continuing to run and escaping and uh as they're like catching their breath her dad asks again he's like so like how did you find me in Italy and she was like why did people start shooting in Italy and like doesn't really like answer his question and then that's when she gets a little bit more like these are bad people like let me help you uh and her dad's like what do you
know about these bad people and she literally tells him everything oh honey does stop like that is such a setup though like he did all that on purpose yeah I'm guessing but not guessing yeah and like I I think it's also one of those books like as you're reading it at no point are you like what this is a plot twist you like see every plot twist coming from the first page of the book yeah so I think you're just like watching her do it and you're just like [ __ ] hell Kenny yeah like don't go in
the basement like like don't go in there keep that Caucasian curiosity to yourself don't go in the basement do not hop on that motorcycle let them Escape good ma'am you are safe you are fine you do not need to involve yourself in that but yeah so she like literally tells him everything including the fact that she has like the [ __ ] stinger in her head oh sweetheart and so then they're like as they're remaining they're trekking to safety their escape yeah their escape
they push through some bushes and she sees their cabin and she's like wait this is where we've been this whole time and like it finally like starts to click for her that she's like oh my God my dad actually isn't a good person mhm and he's the actual enemy in this and you're like yep yep he sure is we glad you got here wish you'd gotten here a little bit sooner but baby girl but glad you got here so when they get into the house like his goons grab her and he's saying
he's going to test the antidote for the chemical compound on her um and when he's taking her like to the lab they walk past the room where he's been keeping her and so she's like this is the [ __ ] house that like I've grown up going to camping trips on and you were keeping me in a room in a basement having me piss in a bucket right like so it's like fully settling in now like this man does not care for her wellbeing yes yes yes yeah and he uh they like shoot her up with the serum
with the antidote and they put her in an airtight chamber then like release the chemical oops just hit my mic sorry Vance uh release the chemical agent into the chamber with her and then suddenly like bombs start going off and her dad's like oh no people are here and her dad takes off again and just like leaves her in this chamber yeah full of this chemical this deadly chemical yes that she should hypothetically be safe from because she has been shot up with the antidote right
for it not anecdote for it which I feel myself wanting to say antidote ant Crest Crest Trotter Trotter Trotter Trotter I don't know why I got British about about it I'm so sorry I whenever I used to like when I was in like middle school and I'd be like singing along to like I don't know Fallout Boy like any like angsty plain white te yes all of that Middle School angst I would always end up singing in a British and I have no idea why but it's like the Brits just feel angster or
they're like classier about their angst maybe maybe that's what it is they're classier they have boug angst accents just make your angst bouier yes I'm sorry could you say this with an accent it would seem a little less sad I would listen better and care more if you had an accent uh when I was in grad school we had a lot of international students and one of my classmates was from St Martin oh yeah and another classmate was from Northern Ireland oh no oh no it was
the like I whenever we had classes together and I was like can you just read this entire textbook aloud to me I would absorb this information so much easier if I could if I could hear it with your accent I'll be a better student if you read this to me because you're accent is so soothing as I get through the content because Jeremy from Nebraska doesn't have the same effect I don't actually think there was a Jeremy from Nebraska I'm just I get it though I get it yeah I'm like oh no please please
keep reading to me in nice accents it's like listening to Jim Dale read uh cuz he did all the Harry Potter oh yeah audio books right so uh the bombs are going off her dad escapes the uh the the bomb Setters are Trotter Crest and Oscar um so it is her people coming to rescue her and apparently they'd had a Scrambler going which so she hadn't been able to like engage with Trot that I was going to ask like why have we not just linked with Trotter but I get it she'd been trying
and then this was why she found out that she she hadn't been able to like Oscar's also mad because he's like okay it's like what all does your dad know and she's like you should probably move my mom and he's like so you saying like a [ __ ] Canary sort of energy I'm like it's my dad you didn't tell me he was evil yeah like you let me find out on the Fly that he's evil then when I'm like but he's my dad and I want to I out for like two or three weeks I held out
yes like hey Oscar yeah maybe [ __ ] off you're not the best stepdad around no so Oscar leaves and is frustrated uh they do plan on keeping her for observation just at the cabin that night and they're like we don't need to move her let's just like make sure everything is is good then we'll move her the next day one of the people like the the med people who comes in to check on her they're like oh like there's already a room set up with a bed uh that you can stay in and she's like
that's the room he was keeping me in and then like trout like sees it and he's like oh my God I'm going to kill him like I can't believe he was keeping you in that in that room but also she has an actual bedroom because it's their like family cabin she she grew up going to so she goes up to her bedroom and then is just looking around and like seeing all of their family photos and like everything through new eyes yes like she's an artist and like that's like the
the eil and art supplies my dad bought for me for me to have here and she just like loses her [ __ ] well yeah cuz like everything's tainted now 1,000% and so she just starts destroying everything in in the bedroom um Trotter and Crest end up showing up and they're like you can keep breaking every single piece of furniture in here you do what you need but like we're not going to leave you alone we want you to know like we're here if if you need us but like you can keep breaking [ __ ]
that's fine um then they all cram into her bed for the night the next day they all plan to go to the safe house and when they get there her mom is there and when her mom like runs up to her and grabs her and is like where is it like we got to get it out of you and like wants to like get the stinger out of her and like their whole plan is uh that they're her and her mom are going to end up in a like they're going to go to Colorado and start a new life and like oh just separate from all this
I also forgot to say that before they left the house the next morning uh Kenny takes a can of gasoline and pours it all over the entire house and lights it sure lights it all up good for her burns the entire house down yeah I get it do I I mean I understand it from like an 18-year-old angst perspective given her history and how out of pocket her whole experience has been sure burn it down babe I get it like it seems like you really need this for closure yeah in
a way that I'm like I don't know if it's actually going to provide you the closure the closure you're looking for no but it is cathartic in a way yeah you could also maybe just like write a letter to your dad then burn that right um lock up the cabin and let it fall into disrepair like once again we had options we did and we made choices we did yeah the whole time So the plan is for them to move to Colorado and like just start their lives over of like their marriage will dissolve
because we need to go and start a new life uh Kenny's not thrilled with this plan this is not the plan she wanted she's fully committed to the twins you get it they've been inside her and her mom is a bit judgmental not about the Step Brothers portion I think about it being Brothers uh yeah I think that's more the issue not even like more than one partner she's like but they're Brothers no I meant the plural in general okay okay okay um so it's the more than one
partner yeah I think it is the more than one partner like I think if it was just Crest she'd been cool who can say right we think maybe we'd be cooler when you're like if it wasn't both your Step Brothers I'd be fine with this okay so if it's was just one step brother you'd be fine with it well the majority of PornHub agrees like okay the bald and the Beautiful they said it's fine so the guys end up telling Kenny that they're like hey we have a van packed for all of us to go and we can
just pursue Joseph on our own our dad is about like he's drinking on the couch because he's very sad about what's going on between him and your mom so he's going to be drunk so he did actually care about yes he was actually in love with the mom and uh I think he was pulling more of the it's an opportunity for his cover to not get fully pulled from the mission right so not that he didn't care about her so now that the cover is pretty much [ __ ] he can't make that excuse anymore she's in
danger I think it's also the mom being like I'm not going to put my daughter through this and so we're going to go like I'm going to leave you and we're going to like start a new life and like you because you put us in the situation you're going to help us get there and like I'm not really willing to reconcile with you right right like I think in his head he's like I still love her and she's still my wife and I still want a marriage um right and she's more like
yeah you put my daughter in danger in situations she didn't need to be in and I'm going to put her first but also has she put her first because to to Kenny's Point her mom knew the whole time was like practically catatonic after her dad passed away and she was taking care of her 100% paying all of the bills doing all of the groceries assuming the entire parental role within their relationship right so now it's like okay so now you want to be a mom like in the 11th
hour yeah but it's like in at one point they're like well and at the end of the book it's they're kind of like oh yeah we talk every day I was like about what like you see like your mom like you're like she doesn't really accept that like I like have two boyfriends but like we like talk every day okay uh what this isn't how these things work it's not no um um and I think that is a frustrating thing within this book and honestly we're giving Mom way more time than she
actually is even in the [ __ ] book if I'm being Hest like yeah she's very much a side character but as I said everything in this whole [ __ ] book is underdeveloped so we're really creating whatever narrative we want about how this came because they didn't we don't know because we don't know and they didn't tell us it'll remain a mystery yep so they uh Oscar gets drunk enough he passes out they all end up sneaking out the guys are telling her they that they can't live without her sure um and
so even though they're all benched they're going to pursue Joseph and that they can't live without her so when they get to the garage the van is filled with all of the stuff that they need but then also two like really slick motor cycles are there and so she's a big Moto girl I guess okay once again [ __ ] underdeveloped book I feel myself getting more annoyed as we go I see it in your face yes uh because I'm like it seemed you never mentioned motorcycles until you went on
one to escape the Miguel situation with ch I actually had that question I was like has she ever been on a motorcycle before [ __ ] Hannah she hasn't done [ __ ] [ __ ] because riding a motorcycle is not like riding a bike or like and she's riding it with confidence and maybe they address how she knows all of that like at one point it's like and so I like pushed the throttle and then Trotter pushed the throttle and then I said whoever like whichever one of us
gets to the exit first gets to be inside me first and like I'm like Crest isn't in the car so I'm racing for Crest against like what yes it's like that's the energy so they like race the motorcycles to the airplane that apparently Crest and Trotter are also the pilots of obviously duh why wouldn't cuz he's the techiestudios the biggest Tech boy in all the land yikes but she got to the exit first so Crest gets first dib so Trotter is flying the plane after they get it in the air and
then Trotter not Trotter Crest gets to Bone her and then she links in to trot her so he can feel it we should distract him while he's driving while he's flying a plane okay I mean I do think when it's in the air it should be autopilot situation I was like short of turbulence it should be pretty easy I don't know anything about flying a plane you know that's fair my dad had his pilot's license at one point I don't know if he still does I could ask him but it does seem like the getting into the
air you got to pay more attention unless like when you get in the air you're like it's it's rough weather but I think if it's just like blue skies I don't know anyway she does decide to distract him but I had the same thought of is this really the moment you're very nervous about flying Maybe let the men in charge of your safety focus focus so they've now been on the run for a few weeks they landed in Mexico and kind of following leads and she's like believe it or not it's harder to find
someone who doesn't want to be found than you think like TV really makes it look so easy yes okay yes it does uh and so they are they're either in Mexico or bise at this point they're kind of like following like working on the coast as they're getting new leads and she's kind of wondering like what will happen after all of this and like when the mission is finished like she'd always plan to go to art school and like are Trotter and Crest going to just stay working in the
field and like where does this leave all of them and do they even want her after this so she's kind of like not been linking in with trod as much just because she's wanted to like process her own thoughts right but then trod is like oh no is everything okay she's like she's pulling away from me yeah so like Crest goes down to the beach to check on her and talk and touch base and then as they're sitting and talking they hear an engine like rev up and they're like
we're like in an isolated house that like there are not a lot of roads by and so they look out just in time like more towards the water to see people coming up with guns and like start shooting at them so they start running to the house and they the guys like lock her in the bathroom and then while she's in the bathroom um one of her dad's goons breaks the window and comes in and is trying to get her and he's like you survived you're one of us you're special you have the antidote sort of energy
like a weird cult situation not fully one of us anyway uh anyway they he she tries to run off like she like reaches for the bathroom door but the guys that told her to stay in the bathroom her dad's goon shoots her through the hand and is like he like I we I need to return you alive but like some holes won't be a big deal or something beg to differ Bud yeah I'm forget exact it's all very messy and very chaotic he he doesn't get her through the bathroom window so like
he takes off and like she's safe with the guys again and they're like addressing her hand and making sure she's okay and she passes at him when she comes too they're like you passed she's like oh no like did I have another like chronic disease seizure and they're like no you just you were shocked you were shot in the hand like it it was a through and through we like if we patched it you'll be fine but like you were shot you yeah that that's why that one happened that would hurt so bad like
all the bones and ligaments like yeah even though even though they were like it's a straight through I'm like but you use your hands a lot there so many bones in there sorry you're not wrong the guy's got her hand stitched up but they also they didn't see the guy who like the Goon who came into the bathroom who she had recognized so they're just like why are these guns for hire chasing us who are which one of us are they here for we don't know we got to move and
she's like I mean yeah like we need to move but also like it's my dad yeah they're here for me they're here for me I am the the main event here and so they move on to the next place and just like try and keep a even lower profile and like at one point she's like sleeping on the floor of the shack that they're staying in but she's like I'm not going to the guy said that we could stay in a nicer place but I'm not going to jeopardize their safety for me and so if
this is the way they do missions then this is how we'll do missions Okie doie fine like it's the for me fine the begrudging acceptance of I guess yeah this is where we are yeah yeah so as this is continuing they finally get another lead they get confirmation they're like we have P like pictures of Joseph here within the last couple of hours and he's planning on meeting with Riley so the deal is still planning to go through and at this point Kenny's just like so blinded by her like rage and
hatred for her dad that she's like he needs to be killed he needs to be stopped no matter what I don't care that he's my dad I I hate him sort of energy and so she's like you need to like get back in the game and like resume your second and command positions like see if you can like get back in and he's like I don't really know and she's like that's like what we need to have happen here I'm 18 I've never done undercover work before but I feel very confident that this is the
way well and also what but like his Inn was Rosa so like the girl he was [ __ ] guess like I think her Rose's brother is Riley I think was what it was so like that was his Inn and so Trotter like I think this scene annoyed me because it seems like at least how it's written Kenny doesn't realize what she's asking trod to do she's saying get back in there get us the info we need by any means and Trotter is like I care about you enough that I'm willing to do this
but like I don't want to well also the fact that like he's like it's his body that he's now like giving over in a sexual capacity right that like not just like the I don't want to but like just like the bodily consent right of it right um adds an extra layer of like uh yeah so Trotter does it but like kind of like shuts Kenny out right um but then he links in as he's [ __ ] Rosa oh tro and he like tells Kenny's like go look in the mirror and so like he in the mirror the reflection
that she's seeing back that is him is like Rosa's on the counter so it's like her back like Rosa's back and she's like making eye contact with Trotter like over his shoulder she's making eye contact with K and then she's kind of like like what's happening he's like you asked me to do this like don't get shy now and like wants her to watch but then like she's kind of getting into it because like she's getting aroused so she ends up like tagging in Crest then tells Crest to [ __ ] her from behind
while she looks in the mirror then her and trout had these like Mutual orgasms where they're just kind of using everyone yeah yeah like it's messy and like doesn't feel good yeah like why yeah and so then when like Trotter like gets back to the house she pushes him against the wall and holds a knife to his throat and is like if you ever like [ __ ] do that again like I'll make sure you you can't use your balls anymore doie and he's like don't pretend you didn't like it like we both know
better and he's also like I was like I like couldn't get hard when she put her hands in my pants cuz like it wasn't her eyes I want it was your like that's very much energy but like when he's like giving this very like don't pretend you didn't like it we both know better she like stabs him in the thigh with the knife intentionally okay cuz she's upset and like don't do it again stabs him in the [ __ ] thigh with the knife and then she's like I felt violated that
like you were like controlling my body that way and like not giving me a choice and he's kind of like Uno reverse babe W yeah yeah and but then he's like don't claim emotions that like aren't yours something like that where you're like what like this is the most juvenile like trer you could have just explained to her on the front end what she was asking require now I hit my mic sorry Dan uh yeah I'm like we could have just like used our communication skills at any point in time and not end it up
through the whole book we could have told from the beginning about the whole situation yes that it was her dad like like we could have just locked our bedroom door it down from the beginning if Crest had just locked his door we'd never be having this conversation so within all of this heightened emotions like Trotter like goes to the bathroom and like Kenny's like go go stitches like up clean them up I need some fresh air so she goes outside to get some fresh air and has an episode passes
out so she passes out and then when she comes too she's been kidnapped I was going to say she gets kidnapped again because her dad had a Tracker in her apparently sure yeah something like that someone had a Tracker in her who the [ __ ] knows not me the Stinger's a track tracker right well cuz like the Joseph and his goons like cut the tracker out of her that I'm like okay Crest had a Tracker but how did you find her did you also have a Tracker none of it none of it really matters sure is
that the end she wakes up kidnapped no that's not the full end it's just oh okay uh I did shut my phone I was like oh okay so she wakes upid aggressive end to the book um so Joseph is now planning on selling the chemical and her as the antidote like because she has the antidote okay but I'm like but it seemed how you described it before you were just testing the antidote on her and now you're selling her as the person that she is the antidote that it needs to be like siphoned from her right
something of that capacity so sure the cars roll up um but it's not Riley it's the guys and they start shooting I I don't know it all ends well the guys [ __ ] her at the same time they win the shootout they win the shootout sexy times in Sue yeah and then they like aren't they're like in trouble because they stole government resources to go on the run and track down uh terrorist but then they're also not in trouble because they beat the terrorist sure and destroyed the the k IAL compound
situation and so she's like I don't know what's going to happen next my mom and stepdad Oscar are sailing around the coast of Mexico right now I'm going to go to art school and like that's literally like where it ends there's double penetration she's like all right there's double penetration yeah like the big like solidifying sex scene there's double penetration the guys like I think they like get her her own motorcycle they all have matching motorcycles at the end something like
that whatever it happened okay okay so my only remaining question is like what is our rating scale for this because it's so messy is it motorcycles is it Stingers is it borms I think motorcycles yeah feels safe sure um I don't know how many motorcycles Hannah I don't know out of three motorcycles I was going to say three for three of them but then I was like oh is it like one wheel because you really did not like this I was going to say like half a motorcycle half of one motorcycle
okay yeah like like like there's an butel or front in half oh top and bottom okay okay but also maybe just like the front half of the motorcycle handlebars got it speaking of uh when we're like yeah things when you're like 18 that you think are like silly or funny or territ like just like dude things I remember there was a Starbucks that my whole group of friends used to hang out at and it was always like youd like drive past and whoever was there You' just like Park and like hang out for a
little bit and I remember walking up with pigtails one day and this like 19-year-old guy just looked at me and went handlebars nice in just a way that only a 19-year-old will ever say that with confidence oh my God the things you look back on you're like what the [ __ ] yeah so uh one of I don't think that guy lived past 21 if you're just going around saying [ __ ] like that you know what he did he I mean I'm glad he did but that's well he actually got married
had three children oh living a wonderful good for you live a beautiful life he probably doesn't want to be known as handlebar guy no and honestly there are people that I would drag like that and call handlebar guy for the rest of our our time moving forward he's not like he's one of those dudes that you like look back and like I'm sure he looks back and he's like what the [ __ ] was that thing he a 19y not my best moment so much cringe yeah yeah yeah yeah so I'm I'm not even going
to give him that that title moving forward H he is not the Florida person who deserves that title moving forward you know I do know okay so yeah like half half a motorcycle half of one motorcycle is uh my out of three I think the thing that really bummed me out is from the description this book seemed like it was going to be so cool or could be so cool when you were telling me about it I was like okay okay yeah and I think that was before you even read it you just told me
that you found it yeah yeah and so I like reading it I was like man I see what we were going for but I also just like we missed it yeah yeah so like if we could rework it a little bit and try again I would probably thoroughly enjoy it but like at some point it seems like like the mid chapter breaks where it's not it's not the next chapter but there's a scene change and there's like the where you'll put a little dash line or something or have something yes to designate um it seemed like at
some point they just stopped putting the extra space cuz I'm like we went from one scene to another with no warning yes they're eating pizza and in the next scene she's like trying to like get his gun away from him as like Trotter's training her like like wait what how they were literally eating pizza and you're like pizza into and you're like what is happening like that happened lot so it wasn't even like that the story was a struggle it's that the way that it was written was a struggle
that's kind I'd say both were a struggle well I'm saying not only and yes both and yes I would say it's a both and situation like I think uh the editing and there were some things where I'm like we were like we got gender pronouns wrong oh in a way that I'm like there's no one to miss gender you just like didn't double check it so like those things so I think the kind of reactive communication that they had plus the lack of editing the chaotic yeah like I wanted I wanted to be into this
one so much and I'm bummed that I'm not yeah so one one motor one half of a motor half of one motorcycle and eloquent too like we're doing a really good job today yeah on all fr big eloquent girly over here what I've known for um okay one nope not one half of a motorcycle out of three I think when we got on handlebars I was about to just say one set of handlebars and I was like no mo more motorcycle than that well now I have the song handlebar stuck in my head and I'm
having a really hard time yeah yeah oh my gosh all right half of one motorcycle half of one of three motorcycles is our final off let us know maybe it was just the heads space I was in when I read this let me know if like maybe your experience was different yeah share your perspective did I take this book just too seriously and it's not that deep and this is just user error let me know I would love to hear your thoughts on this we're receptive to feedback sometimes sometimes I think sometimes
