Review: “Ant-Man and the Wasp”
The first “Ant-Man” (2015) was a an enjoyable albeit safe movie that seemed to be a beast of many colors. While I enjoyed its fun humor, the movie was marred by many questions of what if?

Bringing together 10 years of Marvel Cinematic Universe stories, some great, some just okay, we begin the end of Phase 3 with "Avengers: Infinity War"
Noah and Daren were both thrilled at the scares and the unique use of sensory effects (or lack thereof) to enhance suspense and make sequences scarier in "A Quiet Place".
Noah is a big science fiction fan, Daren is a gamer & huge gaming fan, and of course 80s pop culture, so this should be their perfect movie, right?
Noah and Daren, like many of us, have been waiting to see "Black Panther" for a long time, and Marvel has outdone themselves, creating a true gem of a movie.
Noah and Daren weigh in on "Star Wars: The Last Jedi", following on from their disappointments "The Force Awakens". They approve of the story going in different directions and feel the overall story is improved from TFA. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ban4Zhkt0oI Is the Star Wars universe suffering from repeating the same story again? Does the success of that same journey make it harder to tell completely different stories in those settings? Let us know what you think! Call Slice of SciFi, 602-...
Noah & Daren were enthralled by "Coco", with both the story and the animation, and how immersive and integral the music was to the story.
Noah and Daren went into seeing "Justice League" with eager geek hearts and minds, and returned very disappointed.
Noah and Daren quite enjoyed "Thor: Ragnarok", the third Thor movie and newest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but they also feel that the heavier emphasis on comedy may sacrifice a little too much of the character Thor that comics fans have come to know and love over the years. And yes, they both think back on the first two 'Thor' movies with higher regard now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPfhf8HBA2U Do you agree or disagree? Noah and Daren tackle "The Snowman", one of those films that straddles the suspense/horror fence. Although the novel was very good, the film falls flat and then some.
Noah and Daren are huge comic book fans and have been looking forward to this film for a long time, despite not being familiar with the original comic. But the lack of chemistry between the main characters and the dialogue falling flat adversely affected the enjoyment of the visually stunning parts of the film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJaHaFgsLKU Let us know what you think! Noah and Daren enjoyed this reboot of Spider-Man, and while they appreciated the fun and bringing Spider-Man closer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe formula that fans seem to enjoy more, they were also disappointed by some of the story choices and by the villain, Vulture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u85LLAsKFvw Do you also think Marvel has a bit of a "villain problem"? Both Noah and Daren think "Wonder Woman" is a vast improvement over previous DC Universe feature films, and believe director Patty Jenkins knocked it out of the park.
Noah & Daren share their opinions of "Alien: Covenant", and the sentiment is mixed. What did you think of the movie? Let us know what you think! Call Slice of SciFi, 602-635-6976 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbA_g6g5BOU
Noah and Daren enjoyed "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2", but not as much as they enjoyed the original. Even so, they recommend the movie.
"Kong: Skull Island" is a return to the classic monster movies that many of us grew up on (and still miss dearly), and Noah & Daren completely enjoyed it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9PbM5AxaEo Let us know what you think! Call Slice of SciFi, 602-635-6976
Noah and Daren had high expectations for LOGAN, both as huge Claremont-Byrne X-Men fans, and as fans who enjoyed THE WOLVERINE. They were disappointed.
Noah and Daren are long-time fans of Zhang Yimou, and despite early reports they had high hopes for "The Great Wall". Alas, they were disappointed, and go into what they saw as the movie's shortcomings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5D9m12vR6I Let us know what you think! Call Slice of SciFi, 602-635-6976
Noah and Daren are happy that "John Wick: Chapter 2" is an enjoyable movie that adds to the underlying sense of humor found in the first film, but were a bit concerned with the relentless nature of the over-the-top violence in the second one.
The guys had a few reservations trusting an M. Night Shyamalan story again, and were pleasantly surprised by a very good movie... up until the end. Again.
Noah and Daren both enjoyed "Arrival", the story, the cinematography, and the sound editing... an unexpected bit of overall engagement making for a satisfying film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBirL1MCuuc Let us know what you thought of "Arrival"! Call Slice of SciFi, 602-635-6976

Noah and Daren really enjoyed documentary "Doomed! The Untold Story of Roger Corman's The Fantastic Four", and the insights and details about how the film was rushed through filming simply to maintain the production company's rights to The Fantastic Four, else they'd revert back to Marvel.
Noah and Daren really enjoyed Pete's Dragon, and think the reimagining doesn't harm the original, while still managing to tell an engaging (if perhaps a little overlong) story.
Noah and Daren had high hopes for Suicide Squad, and were prepared to give DC every benefit of the doubt, thinking that maybe since all the characters weren't as well known outside the comics aficionados that chances would be taken with them and the story.
Daren saw Star Trek Beyond and as a casual Trekkie, he breaks down the film and the story for Noah and the rest of us.
Noah and Daren think "Lights Out" fits the bill of being entertaining and enjoyable, despite a few minor flaws.
Noah Richman and Daren Gulsvig compare and contrast Captain America: Civil War and X-Men: Apocalypse, and where the one film succeeds beyond expectations, the other falls far from what the previous chapter in the franchise achieved.
Noah and Daren thoroughly enjoyed the live action remake of The Jungle Book, and loved being proved wrong about how much CGI went into making the film. The voice performances from the all-star cast truly impressed them, and helped make the movie a solid story with a lot of heart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ru3kJpRguaQ What did you think of "The Jungle Book"? Noah and Daren discuss "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice", talking about their expectations before going to seeing the film, especially their reservations about the portrayals of Batman and Superman, given their feelings on previous film portrayals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMeoIwI5cto Have the animated series handled these story lines better than the feature films?
