Episode description

Sure, the first full moon of the year, called a "Wolf Moon," is not until 1/20, but what kind of monsters would we be if we made you wait for this episode any longer? This week, the film is An American Werewolf in London. Writer/ Director, John Landis (Twilight Zone, Blues Brothers), paired up with Rick Baker (The Wolfman, Men in Black, Star Wars), whose effects earned the first ever Academy Award for Best Makeup, for this comedy-horror classic that arguably started a somewhat low-key werewolf craze throughout the 80s (including titles such as The Howling, Silver Bullet, Teen Wolf, etc.). Other notable accolades for the film include Best Horror Film and Best Makeup awards at the 1982 Saturn Awards, with nominations for Best Actress and Best Writing.

The film stars acclaimed TV actor, David Naughton, alongside Jenny Agutter and Griffin Dunne, all of whom do a great job of making sense of a whirlwind of laughs, love, and carnivorous lunar activities.

We have a brief, post-mortem discussion on the ill-fated sequel An American Werewolf in Paris.

Also, we announce the first ever Stabley Cup winner! The award for best movie, which we will be crowning week to week.
