Before we dive into what this podcast is all about, I wanna share a little about my journey because it's the foundation for everything that we'll be talking about on this podcast. I've always been fascinated by strategy, numbers, but what truly set my path was a life changing mentorship. Back in college in the early nineties I was blessed to be mentored by a highly successful female mortgage broker who opened my eyes to what's possible when you combine business acumen with strategic thinking.
And her guidance sparked my passion for real estate investments and developments, and it set the trajectory of my career. I went on to earn a master's degree in tax, working my way up to being the controller for a destination ski and golf resort in Utah. And then later I transitioned to tax consulting to help CPAs, investors, and business owners navigate complex tax codes, always with one goal in mind: to help people reduce their largest expense income taxes and then to use that money to reinvest in income producing assets to work towards financial freedom. It's amazing. In 2011, when I shifted from traditional tax accounting into tax consulting and incentives, that's when everything clicked.
I fell in love with helping clients, especially real estate investors and business owners, discover the tax strategies and incentives they're legally and ethically entitled to. Today, I'm a partner in multiple companies, including Engineered Insurance Services for commercial insurance needs. I also serve as the Chief Marketing Officer of Engineered Tax Services, the nation's largest specialty tax firm, which is the parent company also of the Growth Partnership, which offers business coaching and outsourced marketing specifically for CPA firms nationally.
