I looked at it the other day. two wins on the schedule, and that's Maine and that's I forgot who I said, but I don't wanna bring up the schedule.
see two wins that I could easily say, Hey, Oklahoma's gonna win those two games, and the other 10 are at least sort of in doubt, in my opinion. And they're replacing pretty much their entire offense. I think that is a extremely, extremely, extremely bad sign. For Oklahoma, they might be in the dirt and I'm predicting that they're going five and seven next year. Dion has signed seven offensive linemen since the portal opened, and six guys from the portal and one five Star who's coming into school, next year. So, Dion's obviously doing what he said he was gonna do, which is basically gonna go get a whole new offensive line and it looks good on paper to go get offensive linemen. A lot of 'em from P five schools. I think one of them is from Jacksonville State or or Jackson State, where he coached that a year ago.
But he's obviously getting some bodies in there. We don't know what it's gonna look like. And he hasn't gotten really any defensive lineman, which he also needs. But I've been encouraged by what he's been doing in the portal. For sure. There was a minute there I was scared that Dion wasn't gonna cook, but now going into the Big 12. I think things are wide open in the Big 12 and if he gets the transfer portal right, at least on a couple of those guys, I think he could really do something.

Charlie Baker, who works with, who was the president of the NCAA sent across a proposal this week that proposed a creation of a new subdivision that would allow schools to directly compensate athletes. Through trust funds and NIL payments. So basically it would bring NIL, which is obviously the schools themselves are not quote unquote paying for NIL. It's coming mostly from boosters and other, other collectives and that kind of thing.
There's a proposal with the NCAA now that that's going to be basically subsumed under the schools, and you would have to, the schools would have to be able to have a certain amount of money already allocated to be in this new subdivision, and Don't worry, Evan. I checked it. You're gonna make it. You're good to go, brother. Barely. line. That's right. Tech is in the have nots.

NIL brings itself a different challenge because obviously as it stands, the schools are not the ones paying NIL, although the schools are working and Right. stuff and basically, you know, legal argument is that you are controlling the way the NIL money's being paid out. You might not be paying it out, but you're controlling it.
And that's basically the legal argument that they're having to fight if in And that's the, that's the squishy part about it. Teach, like you talked about how like the schools themselves aren't necessarily allocating the dollars. They're just trying to facilitate the partnerships between athletes and private entities to like promote. But like, you know damn well if UT wants Oh, they're a hundred percent doing it.
can you fund this so that you can, you just make them do some sort of a bullshit advertisement so we can get this guy here. And so that's like the. It seems like that's an easy connection to make right now, and that's the byproduct of stupid rules is you get, you know, people trying to do stupid things with stupid rules Just loophole out of it wide up for that shit. Man. If I'm a female athlete, I'm doing the exact same thing right now.
Like it's the school's telling the, it's the school's telling the donors where they want the money to go. But the crazy thing is complicit literally. hate. stuff's gonna be easy to prove if they, all they have to do is depose whoever the top donors are for organ. Okay. You paid so-and-so to X male athlete but you haven't donated to any female athletes, you know, was there anybody at the university level who told you what athletes they were targeting? How did you know who to pay? How did, how did you know who to give the money to or who give the offer to? If the school is not in your ear telling you who to pay, you wouldn't know.
It's not like they're just walking up to athletes on the street saying, Hey, come to Oregon. And then they, and then that player gets in contact with Oregon's coaches. The coach's already in contact with the player and they tell everybody who to go pay that. Like that's basically how it goes. But then again, those fundraising arms are typically not like part of the institution.
So like the, like the foundation groups, the, the, the, the fundraising foundations, like the athletic, that a and m is the 12th Man Foundation. It's not a technically a part of the institution. And so I'm thinking about it like. If the foundation for Texas is raising money for the business school, the business school is gonna get more money than say the College of Liberal Arts. Liberal Arts or something like that. And so like, could you then make the argue? You could. Yeah, absolutely.
Say that liberal arts is better funded than liberal arts is better. Business is better funded than liberal arts. But is there like. Disparity there that you can make a Ground. Yeah. it's like not part I. the institution itself. So there are some hoops to jump through, but I do think that you can, like if somebody's motivated to make somebody jump through those hoops, you can make them jump through those hoops. Either way is a bad look.
It's But you know what? like go ahead, isn't one of the benefits of NIL, like you can just go to a different school where they will give you the funds you seek.
