Transcript

This episode contains elements that could  be sensitive to certain individuals, including death and loud, discordant noises.  See the show notes for additional details (Elevator Dings) [Vaxie's Song 5 by Skyler Giordano plays softly in the background] [Internal Monologue] All Right, Focus. The target is a 32 year old female.  Bolivian descent. Victoria Gallegos. (Elevator Dings) Nod at the 3 men entering  the elevator.

Must appear cordial. Okay.  Focus. Victoria is typically accompanied by 2 bodyguards around town, except for when  she leaves her tennis instruction. The target is having an affair with her instructor  and tries to keep that under wraps. (Elevator Dings) A couple enters the  elevator. Mid 20s. Conventionally attractive.  All right, focus. The client stipulated that this one should be public. Messy. I hate it when they say that. Need to ensure as  little collateral damage as possible.

(Elevator Dings) 4 men in business suits enter  the elevator. Okay, need to get back. Focus on the job. Sniping aint  possible as there are not any appropriate vantage points near the tennis courts. (Elevator dings) A mother and her son enter the elevator.  Okay, focus, focus. A car bomb could be the right solution, though finding the right moment for  installation could prove to be a problem. (Elevator dings) 5 men enter the elevator, wearing  military fatigues. Iraqi special forces.

Wait. I  know these men. I… I killed these men. 1993, just  outside of Baghdad. Client was a high government  official. They… they’re staring at me. (Elevator Dings) Wait. The men in business suits. 2006, Vladivostok. I used poison in their vodka.  The couple. Detroit, 2013. (Elevator Begins to Ding more and more quickly) Client wanted it to be discreet. Cement shoes in Lake Michigan. The 3 men. Guatemala City,  97. They’re all staring at me. Their faces are...

distorted. Blank. What the hell? (Elevator crescendos to a cacophony  of noise and gears as the dings continue) Where’d these others come from? That was Berlin, 2003. Casablanca, 2008. Canberra, 99. Johannesburg, 2011. [Out Loud] Torronto, 2016. [Gutteral pained scream] God in Heaven. *Loud bang* [Internal Monologue] Wait. The child. You. You weren’t supposed to be there. Los Angeles. 2022.  Your mother was supposed to be alone. *steel cable snaps*

[Out Loud] I'm... I'm sorry. Ain't no forgiveness for what I've done *metal creaks* steel wires snap* *elevator crashes* (elevator dings) *Doors open* *hotel lobby* Ding was written by Brady Flanagan and sound designed by Pelle Frid The assassin was played by Brady Flanagan The music was Vaxie's song 5 by Skyler Giordano Sound effects was taken from various sources.
