¶ Cyrus And Casey's Diner Dilemma
Oh, hey, dear. Welcome to the 10,000 Lakes Diner. Thanks. Uh, Marge, is it? Yeah, that's what the name tag says. Grab a booth, kids. I'll be right over to take your order. No, uh, you see, my name is... Stephen Hawking, and this is my sister, um... Stephanie? Stephen and Stephanie Hawking. Your parents' big fans of theoretical science, eh? Guess you could say that. We're actually looking for work.
We saw the help wanted sign in your dusty, dusty old window. I have experience as a dishwasher, if that helps. Experience always helps. Can I see your IDs? Oh, we're both over 16. Toll drink a water like you, I'm sure you are. But we gotta be able to prove it. Or maybe you don't? We were kinda hoping we could get paid under the table. Not that we're-
uh, advocating doing anything sneaky, it's just we're... Canadian citizens! Right, which means a ton of red tape getting work permits and, well... We could really use the cash. Like now, Marge. Okie doke. Hang tight. Yeah, I'll go talk to Bernie. The owner's name is Bernie? Okay, that's weird, but thanks. Stephen Hawking? Really, Cyrus? It worked before, Casey.
I had to improvise, something I've been doing a lot these past couple days since you flew me off the Holiday Corps roof. Hey, no one asked you to grab onto my hoverboard. Your hoverboard? Hovey is my hoverboard. Well, sort of. And you're lucky I did. You wouldn't have made it this far if I didn't successfully commandeer the ride. You call this success? Crash landing in a lake?
not being able to get the stupid hoverboard to fly again, having to beg for a job at a crummy diner in the middle of nowhere. We're not in the middle of nowhere. We're in the middle of Minnesota. And we wouldn't have crashed if you hadn't confused Hubby by shouting out commands directly opposed to mine. And as for having the job, you got a better idea? None of us has any money. We have no way to get to Florida. So we can either stand here arguing over who's to blame, or we can- Look at the TV!
¶ Holiday Corp's Family Search
Jezebel Harrington. I'll turn up the sound. Oh no. And as the manhunt escalates, their company, Holiday Corp, continues to spiral. We're not spiraling. Do I look like I'm spiraling, Badger? Well, Bertie, you did slam that laptop closed. I'm not. I'm aimed straight ahead. See? Jezebel Harrington. She's just trying to stir up trouble. I don't care what she thinks. Or anyone else. I just want my family back. When I think about how mean I was to Mom last time we talked, I...
I called her a coward. And now they're all gone. We'll find them. All of them. And I'm sure we'll hear from Holiday soon, too. The fact that we can't reach her doesn't worry you? I mean, I always worry. But I'm sure she's fine. Just off the grid. And assuming Cyrus didn't fall out of the sky or get pushed off by that sneaky Casey who is definitely connected to whoever took my parents, for all we know, they could be- No.
They're fine. Bruce is out on his hoverboard now tracking them. And you're sure he's fine? I mean, I think so. But you saw how he stood in front of you when Cyrus grabbed onto Hovey. I think he just froze. W-what is that? Sounds like someone's... smashing things. Why? Bruce? Can't! Ah! I! I! Bruce? Bruce! Hey, guys. Um, what's going on out here? No luck finding Cyrus or your parents. Sorry, Birdie. Um, that's okay. Are you all right there, buddy? Yeah, sure. Why? Oh. Hey, who makes such a mess?
¶ Casey's Beachside Awakening
opening her eyes. Finally. Casey, can you hear me? Hello? Wake up, Dupree. Ah, Brindles. Pushy as ever, I see. You're okay. Am I? Feeling a little fuzzy. Well, at least you're awake and talking. How long was I out for? A few days. Ever since Remy and I rescued you. You pretty much said hi and then collapsed. Sounds about right. So, how did we end up on this beach?
We were afraid they'd find us hiding on campus, so we grabbed those insulated gloves they had for you, dragged you to Jude's rowboat, and rowed out to this tiny island where Badger and Bruce crash-landed. Little slower for the recently conscious. Remy, Jude... Crash landings, I know not of what you speak. I'm Remy, in case you forgot, Brindley's roommate. She told me you can control electricity. Can I see? Assuming it's not on the fritz? Ow! Yep.
Still got it. Awesome. Yeah, awesome. So, you're roomies with Brinley Pasternak, huh? How's that working out for you? Brinley? She's the best. I mean... She's rude sometimes, and my life has pretty much been in danger since the minute I met her, but... That'll do, Remy. Anyway, we're still in the honeymoon phase. See, I replaced her old roommate, also named Casey.
Because that's not weird or anything? It is quite unusual. The name Casey peaked in popularity in 1987 when 3,581 boys and girls shared it. Uh, is it me, or does that robot sound like Cyrus? Hello, Casey Dupree. I'm Cybot. Cyrus Anders created me to be Brinley's best friend. Well, I wouldn't say- Well done, Sci-Fi.
You know, he and I built a robot named Hermione. She was a lot less advanced than you. Not as cute either, but... Aw, thanks. Nobody cares, Energizer Bunny! Bond over your lame robot stories later. We have more critical matters to attend to. Namely, what the heck were you doing at Elixir Academy, Casey? Do you even know how you got here? Of course I know. I remember everything.
¶ Jude's Secret Roommate
I've been so worried about you since you all disappeared that night. Are you alright? Do you know where Brinley and Remy are? Kinda. Can I come inside? Well, of course. Listen, something happened. I don't remember most of it, but Brinley needs you. Jude? It's Dr. Solstice. She can't know I'm here. Hide in the bathroom. Dr. Solstice, how may I help you? I've come to introduce you to your new roommate. Roommate? But I've never had a roommate before.
I understand. This is a special case. Come along. This young man is having a hard time with the transition. I thought you might be able to help. Who is this? Why are we here? As you can see, he's... upset. Hi, I'm Jude. What's your name? I don't remember. Why don't I remember? We've been over this. Your name is Kazuo-shi. Kazu, for short. Did you say Kazu? GZM shows imagination amplified. This episode is brought to you by JCPenney. Yes.
