That's right. That's right. You wake up and there's glitter all over. And we're on just after doom scrolling because you cannot sleep. Whoo. >> : You know, is there a support group for that? >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Oh, yeah.

>> : I mean, I get, like, thumb springs. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: At, like, 02:00 a.m. that's my suck for a lawyer, especially because you have to write all day long. No, the pressure on your thumb. Um, I just, uh. >> : Uh, you know. No, it's that thing out. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: All the finger pointing. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: It's all the finger. You do this, write this. Yeah. Write what I say.

>> : I still. I still have my finger I can point with, but, you know, if it's doom scrolling, it's a thumb injury. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: I see ya. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Uh, I need someone to take some dictatorships. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yes, someone dictate what I'm saying, please. pool, remember the buddy system. Where's your buddy? >> : Oh, uh, we didn't load that one. Sorry. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: You missed the buddy system. Today. We'll just play it out. Buddy. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Buddy. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: That's right. Cigar, newbie? Uh, fret not. We got you covered on our cigar. One on one episode where all this cigar speak will be decoded. Just search for sip, suds and

smokes. Uh, on cigar, um, 101, that episode should pop right up on the link below. >> : Fabulous episode. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: It's a great episode. That's right, that's right. Um, I am good old boy barter, and I'm going to tell you our smokes rating. Today. We will be smoking and discussing these cigars and rating them with our sips, suds and smokes. Patented rating in our signature sound. >> : Interesting. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Patent pending. >> : Did that.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. One. It sucked before it was lit. Two, at least I lit it. Three. I'd smoke it again. Four. How much up for them? Magnificent. Five. Where are they? I need a box. Today, the cigars we will be reviewing are, uh, the white series diplomat, the black two, robusto, the b two. Viso jalapa, the prospector. And an event only Lancero, so rich is going to take it away at the top of the hour with the white series diplomat.

5.5 by 56. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Is it diplomat or diploma? >> : Diploma. I'm going to go in diplomat. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: My french is a little rusty. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: So this is the white series. >> : Big words. Yes. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: That's one of those big two syllable.

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Words that ain't american right there. The white series is the original blend of the brand. It was Sebastian's decoupage. First take on a mild to medium but very complex m cigar. The cigars offer beautiful transition in all sizes, while each of them provides a distinct experience and personality. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Huh. >> : Huh. That sounds like exactly what's

happening here at this table. There is a broad range of experience and personality. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: That's true, that's true. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Lots of different sides. >> : I'm on the no ink end of the table. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: That's right. We're just gonna need you to naturally tattoos if you'll just

White Series Diplomate

use that thumb and take some notes for us today. >> : Let me connect the dots. Okay? >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: The wrapper on this is a habano, the binder's Connecticut. The fillers are Nicaragua, Paraguay, and Dominican Republic. And if I go by my script, it's asked for tho eight. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: So I just thought I'd throw that in there to see what you thought about the, uh, you know, my script writing.

>> : Say, this is the first time that I recall that I've had a filler from Paraguay. Yeah, ah, yeah, it's. That's not a very common filler. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Nova have some? >> : No, I don't think so. That didn't ring. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: I've had some Paraguay cigarette here. Anyways, well, folks, go back and listen and point it out to Mike. Just make sure you mike on that. Yes, doctor hater. So what did you guys think about? Yeah, rich, what'd you

think? Since you're on deck. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah, uh, you know, the cavaliers, uh, interesting. Has the gold leafing on the wrapper. Um, um, I found it every cigar. Every cigar. Every cigar. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Signature gold leaflet. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: And I found it a. I found it a. A personal,

um, challenge to smoke it all the way through that. Uh, uh, just, just because. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Smoke, uh, the gold, baby. Smoke. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah, uh, no, I really like this cigar. Um, um, had a little, ah, slight sweetness, very smooth, uh, uh, mild to medium body. And I almost hesitant to say it was a little woody. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Did you speak to the mic and not to me?

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I'm sorry. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Oh, he's what? It was a little woody. Wasn't that woody? >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: I didn't ask for this. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: He said the word yeah. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah, but I like this cigar. I felt like you could smoke it at

any time. Um, yeah, good, good, good. Smoke for me. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Mister woods. >> : Uh, for the white series corona, I wrote, um, it's a little spicy up front, uh, the spice kind of subdued, and you pick up some wood. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Not gonna do it. He's resisting. >> : Oh, and, uh, it's, um, I wrote down this kind of ho hum. Um, you know, it was. Yeah, it was kind of below average, you know, for me, the door.

No, I just. Yeah, you know, I I was just like, you know, hi ho, hi ho. It's off to the next cigar we go. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: So that Mike has unbelievable standards. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah. That he is never unrealistic able to achieve. >> : There are cigars in this lineup I. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Like, so angry in life. >> : This was not, this was not at the top. It wasn't at the

bottom, I can tell you that. So there's that. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Uh, you know, Benjamin, this is my introduction smoke to this brand. Uh, I guess I found out about cavalier about a year ago. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Uh, and started smoking them. And this is my first experience. And what kind of lit that fire for this brand? For me also, um, got to meet Sebastian and his team, salt of the earth, PCA 23.

And great people that just turn the volume up for me. Uh, these guys don't miss for me. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Absolutely. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: I think, you know, especially in that all day smoking mindset. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Uh, you can't go wrong grabbing a cavalier any time of day. They just, they work.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Um, I kind of like to think of them as, like, uh, and they're not really a budget stick, but I like to think of them as a budget David off. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: They're not, they're not crazy, though, man. >> : I just heard everyone's head exploded. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Register a complete. >> : Oh, yeah, that's for sure. For me, I can hear them filing.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: For me, it's just the consistency. Like, the consistency of their burn and how consistent Sebastian is with the flavor profiles of his cigars. Just remind me of, like, early days of the David off. Like, just real, you know what you're gonna get every time you pick one up. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: I concur. I think the consistency here, uh, is overwhelming almost. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. Uh, right.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: You're like, uh, well, didn't miss again. Right. So. But that's exactly what you're looking for. I think that's the mark of a brand that's doing the right thing, making the right decisions, and actually caring about what they're doing. He's not just in it, um, because he wants to make a ton of money, which is, um, for the love of the game. Refreshing, man. Like, yeah, he just likes making cool cigars. And it works.

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Interesting, because I did have some construction issues with these cigars. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: You probably kept them in your human or too long. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: You set it on the counter for a week. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah, it's funny. >> : Amazing.

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Marger handed them to me. I smoked. It wasn't too bad for most of them, but I did kind of have to do some touch ups here and there. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: I will say this, and I've witnessed you smoke hundreds of cigars. And I love you. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Here it comes. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: You smoke entirely too fast.

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Oh, okay. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: And you have a lot of canoe issues. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: No, I do not. I don't have. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: You have enough canoe issues that I've given you a paddle for Christmas. Wow. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Yeah, dude. >> : At least they didn't give you the.

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Met was a different kind of know what you're talking about. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Oh, man. I'll tell you what. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I do not smoke too fast. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: You do sometimes. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: We'll talk about smarty smoker.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Listen, I thought that. I really concur with Benjamin. I think that this is a good introduction to their line because this is their flagship. This is a great cigar to pick up. Um, I'm a big fan of cavalier, period. Um, and thankful that we got an opportunity to go over their product line. But this cigar, if you haven't had it, I would suggest you go get it. Uh, what are we going to rate this, guys? We'll go a four majority rules here. So we have four ratings.

Magnificent. All right, so next up, after the break, we're gonna do the, uh, black two. And that's gonna be Mike. >> : Oh, yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. So once we come back from the break, you'll hear all the goodness. >> : Mm hmm. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Welcome back. Did you guys buy what they were just talking about? Cuz I already bought two, and I'm so happy with my purchase. Yeah, expedite the shipping just overnight that we're here.

>> : Use that promo code. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Use the promo code. Hey, guys. >> : Sucks. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: So. Yeah. For real, Mike. Mike's opinion is garbage. >> : I think that sucks. I think it sucks. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Uh, absolutely. So we're going to go with the black two. Now, Mike's going to tell us all about that. It's a robusto. Five by 50. Take it away, Mike. >> : The black two blended to deliver a

Black 2 Robusto

unique old school maduro experience. The line offers richness and complexity with a medium strength. The car is given amazing age tobacco experience combined to a dark profile. The wrapper on this is San Andreas. The binder is habano, and the filler is nicaraguan. Ding, ding, ding. Yeah, I heard you, uh, you know, over there. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: I love the san Andreas rapper. >> : Yeah, I like it when it's really good. And in this, uh. In this particular case, uh,

I did. This was, uh, my favorite of the flight. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Go on. >> : So, uh, this is, um. Actually, we, uh. Barker and I were at an event last night, so this was a cigar I was enjoying. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Oh, really? That's why you wouldn't talk to me? >> : M. Yeah, I was concentrating on this. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Because you didn't want to see me in public.

>> : I wrote down very chill. How many cigars have I written that down, like zero. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Can I get a ding on that one? >> : Yeah. Very chill. Mild up front. A tad earthy. It kind of, uh, maintains the chill all the way through the middle. And, um, I had a really cool beer, uh, that was paired with this. We can talk about that, uh, after we finished talking about the cigar. But, um, yeah, I really liked this. It was. It was definitely a solid pick out of the

whole flight. It was my favorite. Uh, really? >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: That's. That's interesting. You liked the san Andreas over all the things. >> : No, I, you know, can I. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: This is. I'm so glad this is recorded. >> : Yes, I'd love. Good. I love great cigars. And, you know, uh, yes, there are. There are some wrappers that I prefer over others, depending on usually what I'm pairing it with. And I really enjoyed what I paired this

with. I do think it, you know, elevated the experience. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Well, what'd you pair it with? Um. >> : Um, it was a very. It was a very unique, uh, beer from a brewery called OEC. It was a black lager. Uh, and it was actually finished, uh, in a cool ship. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: So what's a cool ship? >> : So a cool ship is just like a. A really big table, uh, sink that they flew all the beer out after they, uh, finished the primary boil on it.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Like a giant stainless steel square tub is exactly it. >> : They're usually fairly big. I don't know what the size of their. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: About the size of this room we're in. >> : Yeah, I would say, you know, ten by 20. You know, maybe some of the larger cool ships are 30 by 34 foot deep, probably. Uh, no, shallow. Yeah, it's all about surface area, because what you want is you want it to get infected

with natural yeast. So they tend to have cool ships where they actually open the windows up and they just let the wind blow in and whatever yeast just kind of blows across, you know, onto it that, uh, then infects the beer. So it actually winds up with a. It's a bit sour. And in this case, I actually wrote down the word. It was incredibly refreshing. And so I. This was a great, um, pairing, uh, and I think it actually elevated the cigar for me.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Well, thank you for joining us on the sips episode. This is suds. No, that is really good beer. So I wanted you to take the time to say that, because I really think that it's important for our listeners if you had that experience with that type of beer. I think it's important that people understand it's okay to grab a sour beer or something that's with a cigar, because. >> : Absolutely. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: You get a lot of that different yeast, and

sometimes that Britannia myces comes out. Sometimes that. Ah, I'm sure I said that. >> : What did you say? >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Hold on. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Uh, you couldn't get it earlier, but. Bro, tantro de meiosis? >> : No, I struggle with Benjamin. That's an infected finger. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Okay. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: I struggle with the small words when.

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: It comes to alcohol. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: I think that's important, that the listeners, and it's something that we don't really punch on too much, is how tasting notes compare with other cigars, like how different, you know, alcohols and different coffees and different teas and things that, like the herbs, the spices, natural air, the yeast, all those things play into how you enjoy

your cigar. And I think that that's something that I would like to dive into in an episode, uh, sometime is just pairings. Like, we're going to do a pairings episode next season, I think. Sure. Yeah, it's going to be great. >> : I do that on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Thursdays. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Is that aa or what is that? Ah, I'm, um, confused. >> : I take a 20 minutes break. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah, for sure. Rich, what do you think about it?

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I totally agree. I love this cigar. Um, I picked up. I wrote down the, uh. I picked up a little campfire kind of taste. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Would you say that's wood? >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: A little bit, yeah, a little medium bold, a, um, little bit of cedar. I don't know. Just really, really good for me.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Benjamin, this thing rocks. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Uh, so it's got some body to it. It's got some heft to it, but it. It reminds me of, like, the. The first padrone I ever smoked. It it has. >> : That is a, uh, pretty. That's a very good comparison. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: It's got some, like, it. It's got some old dustiness in a. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Really cool way, but also a little oil.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Oily, right. Velvety. The. The smoke does have, like, a really nice texture to it. And, uh, this is a cigar. You feel like you're smoking a cigar. And so that's the experience that I'm looking for on a pretty consistent basis. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Uh, I want the smoke to kind of be big and kind of heavy and weighty, and this thing absolutely delivers that m. I.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: You know what, guys? I've smoked enough of these that I absolutely love this cigar. It's a banger in my book, for sure. I've smoked everything that Cavalier has had multiple multiples, because I'm just this. This last year, really introducing, um, the year before last was my introduction to Cavalier as a whole. And then getting to meet Sebastian and talk to him, pick his brain a little bit about what his brands are and what is what he's doing. Like,

man, it just solidifies that. I support that brand 100%. And, you know, it's is a fantastic cigar to smoke. This is another one of their cores that if you pick one up, I doubt you'll be disappointed. Um, sure. Let's give it a rating. You know, that is a four across the board. >> : Yep. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: And I'm magnificent. Always miss that queue. But I am extremely satisfied to see Mike's four little stubby fingers. >> : I would go back and enjoy this cigar again.

That is my highest compliment. Yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Cause I don't think I've ever heard you say that. >> : I don't. I don't double back on anything. I just, you know, we have too many things to try, you know, for the show. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: And your first wife said the same thing. >> : You know, we'll fix that in post. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: All right, here on comedy hour with Mike. Uh, and Mike here, you were going.

>> : To talk about some time with Sebastian. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: You know what, I just. We, uh, spent some time with Sebastian at PCA. For the last couple of years, we've spent, you know, about an hour with him, sitting with him, smoking a cigar and getting to know him a little bit. That dude's awesome. His whole team is just solid, salt of

the earth people. They're real down to earth, extremely approachable. But what we kind of connected on was, uh, his love for black metal and my love for black metal and how we, good parent, transpose those things into our flavor profiles of cigars, which is interesting. And so I think that, you know, a lot of, some of the influence that goes into that can also be attributed to music. When he's blending and listening

to music. And it's not just black metal. He listens to all sorts of different types of music. But, you know, I, uh, think that there is a distinction between the receptors in our brain that that music flows through and our taste buds. I think those two things correlate. I, uh, can't, uh, say there's science on it. Haven't put that out there, but in my brain, it makes sense.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: So pairings all about experience and, and what you're looking for in that experience, whether it be complimentary or contrasting, it's about finding the right space to be in to

reach that maximum level of enjoyment. So whether it is your favorite rum, a cool new beer that you're excited about, a cigar you've never smoked before, having a hard day at work, and coming home to want to listen to some music and kind of, you know, de stress and, and just kind of ground and reconnect to yourself, you have that opportunity. And when those things line up. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: When all of those things come together perfectly, it makes that experience something that is memorable, and it works. And so I think that's a really good point for us, too, because we're on here spewing our opinions about all of the things that we. Yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: You for yourself, and we're. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: About all the things that we like or dislike, you know, identify with, don't identify with.

But I think that that overriding note is try it for yourself. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: And if you're in the, the right space and time, everything can be a little bit different. So it's worth going back. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: That's right. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: You know, unlike Mike has time to do, you know. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Uh, revisiting a little bit.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: And if you're gonna spew. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: But, but just know that, that those experiences change based on, you know, the atmosphere and something, you know, like music makes a lot of sense. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah, absolutely. And I think that there's, you know, everything in itself is a mental game. Right. So whether you're on the golf course. >> : Well, I've met a lot of mental people.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. Whether you're drinking, whether you're post meal, whether you're premeal, just something that, where you could sit down. And I think that's the key. And, um, honestly, I think that's where he is striving to get you to do is to take a second, know where you're at and slow down. >> : It's pretty deep for a cigar. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: And just, that's what I, that's what this brand really reminds me of. It's taking a second.

For me, like, when I light a cavalier cigar, I'm not just going to willy nilly light a cavalier cigar. I'm going to actually sit down and I'm gonna think about things, and I'm gonna sit there and enjoy the cigar, because for me, it's the experience of that. Like, there's plenty of cigar brands. You'll just light and mow the yard light and do this. Light and do that. But there's particular brands in my brain anyway that I have. I have a higher regard for wellness.

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah. And that's why you go, like, when you have something to celebrate. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Like, you know. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: When my daughter got me. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Absolutely. The wedding.

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah. You gave me a cigar and it's like, um, you want to. It's for me, a cigar. Good cigar. You sit down and it makes you kind of just slow down. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: And be present. You have to. Exactly. You have to sit there and, you know, you can enjoy it. And

it just totally just chills me and relaxes me. So, like, wedding, right after the ceremony, man, I lit up a good cigar and I was just able to float around the room. >> : See, I was. Usually my guard up is when barger walks over and he says, hey, man, uh, why don't you go, uh, smoke this with no context at all. My radar is on full. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: You're just scared. It's a joint, which is not unlike me.

>> : I mean, the difference between that and pull my finger is about 1.8 seconds. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Fool me once. Burger. Fool me once. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: That's right. Shame on me. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: All right, well, we're going to jump right into the next one. The b two v. So halapa. Uh, and that's, uh, the. The VSO jalapa. They call that the new school. And, uh, we had the torpedo,

the six by 52. Benjamin, take it away. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Yeah. So the b two visa, uh, jalapa line puts the visa lapa wrapper on the front of the scene. The cigars deliver a deep, rich and oily profile for a new school. Maduro experience. Rapper. Visa, halapa binder, habano filler, nicaraguan. Uh, this actually says, thoughts? Sorry, belt checks. >> : Repeat. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: So. So for me, and I think this is really cool, not only to talk about these cigars back to back, but if you decide to pick up cavalier cigars to kind of smoke these things, uh, you know, one after the other and kind of do the comparison in contrast. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Uh, the. The new school that they're talking about here is more of a, like, chocolatey, oily, smoother kind of smoke. For me,

just this thing is. Is more like melting chocolate. It's not, uh, like raw, heavy cacao. It's more of like a blended. It's a little bit lighter. It's a little bit more approachable. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Confectioners. Confectionaries. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Well, so I think that those maybe get a little bitter. This one's a little bit more creamy and approachable. This is definitely more like a milk chocolate deserty. This is definitely more, you know, ganache, if you will.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Okay. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Right. As opposed to, like, a raw baker's chocolate. And I think that that's also something that I am starting to grow into. My original experience. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Chocolate. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Yeah, sure. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: That was the showstopper. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Really? >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Yeah.

I'm dealing with a lot of addictions. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I'm working on it. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Hey, I'm growing into chocolate. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: I'm big bones growing into me. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Right. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: You know, you can't have too many nuggets. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: That's right. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Godiva, watch out. Well, also

a cool way to pair cigars. I've been through a blind tasting. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Absolutely. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: With chocolates and cigars. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Absolutely. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Cold, um, brew coffee was in the mix, too. >> : Oh, yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: And you get the opportunity to almost, uh, blind your palate with those bigger, bolder flavor notes that

are a little bit more prominent. And you start to see the nuance of the cigar peak through, which is a really, really cool experience. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: So that was something at PCA. No, no, I'm just tired all the time. Yeah, right. For sure. That was something at the PCA that was really interesting to me because, um, there were a couple of boosts that were giving out chocolates as well, but there was one,

and that was united Cigar company. And they give you a full bar of dark chocolate. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Oh, yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: When they handed you their. And that stuff was awesome to pair with some of the cigars got from them. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Absolutely. Uh, it's, it's a really cool experience. >> : Because can also mask a lot of sins as well. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Oh, for sure, for sure.

But you know, you take the good with the bad and you got chocolate and you chocolate. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: And that's the greatest thing about chocolate involved. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: We have chocolate. So I'll say, before I let you guys talk a little bit, uh, I'll say this was my favorite of the bunch. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Hmm m ooh, not a fave. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Uh, no, it was my favorite.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Okay. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: It was my favorite of the bunch. The torpedo size is just great. I'm not usually a larger, um, you know, 50, 48 to 52 is my go to. Are you talking about girth? Uh, yeah. Why don't we tell, tell more. Today we're going to be demonstrating how to measure girth. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Growth is a very important measurement when determining sizes.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: First, take your tape measure, place it at the center of the shoulder, bring it down through the crotch and back. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Up again, making sure it's going over the widest part. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: So the girth of the cigar actually does a lot for the flavor, if you didn't notice. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: I'm keen to that information. Yeah. Uh, I've heard this about cigars and girth. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yes.

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: So this was my favorite as well. I have to say, with the torpedo. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: I probably hated it. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah, probably. But with the torpedo, I never know how much to take off. Like to cut it. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Oh, like the brist.

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: So I'm a little, I'm a little conservative. Just so I'm just a, I'm just saying but I think it goes back to the girth. I didn't quite take enough off because it was a little tighten. But as soon as I recut it. Man, this was a great cigar. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I mean, I just. I enjoyed it all the way through.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Um. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Um. It had some spice to it. Very, uh, uh, medium body. Um, um.

Black 2 Jalapa Torpedo – SMOKES –

Little leathery notes to it. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Um, here is the wound for thickly cushioned contour seats available even in fine Corinthian. I just wanted to lay down and cuddle with it. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: So good. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Mike, what'd you think?

>> : Uh, I'll do this quick. It was, uh, pretty earthy upfront. A little spicy. Was Woody? Bitter. Completely unbalanced, you say? >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Woody, I did not like this. No. I knew it. I knew he wouldn't like it at all. Yeah, I knew. >> : Doctor hater. Never. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: You just can't. Please. >> : You did not. Worst of the flight. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah, we'll come back with our rating after that.

And welcome back from all those glorious commercials. I hope you enjoyed it and purchased whatever they tell you to purchase. Consume. Consume. Um. All right, so we're going to come back with our rating on the b two v. So halapa and we are going to exclude Mike from that rating because he's banned. Once again, that's a five across the board. Give us a box. We will take it all. Alright, so up next is myself with the prospector Toro six by

50 that they sent us. The prospector, uh, is a double kappa cigar.

Prospektor Toro – SMOKES – 3

Both wrappers are halapa, but come from different primings of the plant that. You don't know what the primings are? It's the, uh, primings. Look it up. I'm just gonna leave that a mystery for you. We'll talk about that in cigar 101. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Does that mean you don't know? >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: No, I know, but we're gonna go back to Cigar 101 with that. If you want to know what a priming is, go back and listen to it.

Thank you for that. Which creates a unique depth in the profile of these cigars. The wrapper is a halapa, the binder is habano and the filler is nicaraguan. Let me know what you guys thought about this. Rich, what do you think about this one? >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Um. Um. I gotta give you a disclaimer on this one. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Oh, here we go.

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah, I had a. >> : He hated it. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Well, I had a severe problem with this one. It had a very, very tight draw. Um. Um. Took, uh, uh, probably about half of it to get through that. So I think I. I felt like it was. I may have skewed it a little bit, but um. Um. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Could it have been humidification?

>> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I don't know. You tell me. >> : Was it your right hand or your left hand? >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: It could have been. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Were you inside or outside? >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah, I was outside. Of course. >> : What were you watching us?

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Were there cats involved? >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Had it recently rained? >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Had you just mowed the grass? Um, I felt like ah. I felt a little mustiness to it. Um, slight metallic taste. Uh, once I got through it and it started burning, well it got better, a lot better towards the second half. I muscled my way through it. Loosened up a little bit, had a little

slight pepper. So I think probably I'm going to have to call a do over on this one person. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah, we'll run it back. Everything's worth a second try. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Absolutely. Absolutely. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: If you don't like it the first time, try it again. That's what my ex said. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: So the, the thing that jumped out to me about this cigar is the packaging number one.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Oh yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: I'm a big fan of cool packaging, cool branding. Uh, and this thing is, is in a really cool little five pack. The, the box is super cooled, paint splatter, you know, graffiti kind of vibes which is really awesome. And then uh, also too there is um. It looks like those two different halapa primings. You can actually ones kind of

peeking underneath. Now I'm um, not certain if it's like a full leaf and they're just kind of separated enough to where you can see it underneath. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Sure. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Or if it is just that little bit. But I think this was a really cool experience for me because you could literally taste every time you got into, you know, that little bit of the different halapa wrapper. Um, which you know, it's not like a classic barber pole.

>> : Yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: But it, it had some reservations walking into it because I don't necessarily enjoy those style cigars, um, on a consistent basis. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: So I was a little apprehensive going into this. Um, but it was, it was a kind of middle of the road smoke for me. It definitely has those cool classic nicaraguan kind of minerally tones to it. Uh, but real nice medium body

midday smoke. Um, you know, I would revisit it again, but this was um, one of my lesser favorites for cavalier. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Really? >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Really? >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Okay. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Yeah. No, really. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Like what do you think? >> : Let's see. For the toro proprietor. Right? That's what we're doing. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> : This was um, mild up front.

Uh, it had a hint of mint, uh, on it right off the um. Right off the bat as well as, uh, kind of in the middle. Uh, it. It went away, but it was replaced with, uh, more wood. Cedar, oak, um, a lot more minty in the middle. Um, actually approaching menthol. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. A little bit of sweetness there. >> : Uh, I wrote down great burn line, as I have not even touched this up even once. So that was

great. Thank you very much. Um, and I was a little worried because the unique elements of this rapper, you know, for sure. But, uh, yeah, it was. It was a good, dead solid, you know, average, you know, cigar. Yeah, I, uh, enjoyed. I think I enjoyed the unique nature of this particular cigar. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> : This has both a good storyline as well as I think it was telling the tale of somebody that's saying, I don't want

to just make more of the same. I am willing to, you know, look at other parts of the, uh, plant to actually utilize. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: So I'm looking here online at the cigar, uh, world, and they have a little bit of, uh, something to say about primings, just so we can let some folks know here, it says, why does it matter when the tobacco leaf is harvested from what zone it was taken? It's all the same

tobacco, right? So the amount of sun and tobacco leaf receives and how long it's left to mature can signate, significantly impact its color, flavor, and combustibility. Leaves taken during the first priming sit close to the ground. As such, they have some shade to cover the leaves from above them. What. What's more, they're harvested first. So the leaves taken in the first primings are usually lighter, frailer, and produce milder flavor. Cigars. Yeah, for

sure. Um, then the leaves taken later in priming, since they're harvested early, they retain more of the tobacco leaf's natural sweetness, which is where you would probably get some of that mental kind of flavor from. So that makes a lot of sense. What did you guys think about this? We're gonna rate it here. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I have to round up a little. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: We're gonna go with threes.

All right, well, we are on to the lancero with the event only Lance arrow. >> : So it was actually banded as a undisclosed band blend is how it was.

Cavalier PCA 24 Lancero

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: So I'm going to read here what the website says. >> : Yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Uh, can I get some crickets? >> : We don't have crickets. Banned once again. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. So nothing online is mentioned about this. And I even asked Sebastian at the PCA, and he was like, we don't tell anyone what this is, but I have a suspicion that it's kind of what they roll

for themselves to smoke. Um, but it's also in a lancero, which is, as you know, my favorite size. >> : Not a superior size. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: It is the best size, period. But let me think what you guys think about that. Uh, what did you guys think, rich? >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: I thought it was, um. Felt a little peppery on the light. It smoothed out real quickly. Mine was very loosely rolled and it smoked

pretty fast. Um, the ash was loose. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: So could that be that you smoke? >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah, well, you know, I don't got. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Somewhere to be, man. Come on. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: No, no. Um, I've smoked cigars for a long time. Didn't say, you know. But you smoked them fast. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: For years. I know.

>> : I'm just waiting for barger to break out like a metronome for you. You know, it's like tick, tick, tick. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Tick and puff and. >> : You know. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Um. >> : Hang on a second. I gotta wait now I can have a draw. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: That's right. I did find it. Um, no, I

thought it was okay. I didn't find it x, you know, exquisite or outstanding in any particular way. So. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: So what's interesting is I'm not gonna parrot what you're saying on that, but I think that this cigar event only is just kind of a solid staple, like a run of the mill cigar for them. Um, it's not, it doesn't take characteristics of some of their other lines that they have. Um, uh, like their inner circles, which we

didn't get on this, but. But what? We have put them in the PCA episode. If you want to hear our review and talk about those inner circles, uh, go check out our PCA episode because it's in there. Um, and then they also have limited editions. Uh, each year they've been released, they've released a limited edition. And those cigars are fantastic. But this event only is just kind of a run of the mill. This is a cigar and we give it away. This is a good cigar. It's not a bad

cigar. But, you know, it's not a. It's not one you're just gonna run, run to grab, you know what I'm saying? If you're gonna grab a cavalier, you're probably gonna overlook that one and get a white or a black or a visa lap or something, you know? Um, even their new graffiti series, like, their new graffiti series is a budget six, like 799 shelf. 899 shelf. Freaking fantastic cigars. Like, amazing, uh, cigars. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Also super cool. Like, if that's their. If that's their

mindset on the event only. I think there's a lot of brands out there that do the event only is supposed to be. This may be, like, super exclusive. You can only get it at an. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Event, uh, like a holy grail or. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Something like we're working on, and we're trying to get some feedback, maybe. So if we're going to be giving out samples, it needs to be, you. >> : Know, thousand dollar order. We'll give you this one stick.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah, yeah, for sure. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Um, you know, and for them to it being that, that handshake smoke. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: It's the one that you can hand to anyone. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: That's right. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: And they can have a decent smoking experience, no matter their experience or exposure level to smoking handmade, premium cigars.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Right. And that's exactly what I'm getting at. Like that, that your experience is not off of my experience I'm trying to get at. Mike, what do you think? >> : Well, uh, my notes actually echo almost the same thing that rich said. Um, and I'm just gonna read this running up front. It was very well balanced in the middle. I thought it had much better finish than some of the other sticks in the flight. So, um, good, solid stick.

I think the one thing I wanted to add was, you know, as we're talking about the cigar, the thing, uh, it may be playing through your head is, how can I get one? And so I think you're gonna have to have a friend that is at your local retailer that, you know, for whatever reason, they might have picked up an extra one, or maybe they didn't enjoy the one that was handed to them. And, you know, maybe you'll have an opportunity to, you know, to

enjoy it through that. But I don't think there were a lot of these, you know, that were made and handed out, you know, beyond the show itself, so. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Well, I think that, um, so actually, to. Not to correct what you say, but this is when they have events in local stores, uh, this is the cigar that they hand out. >> : Oh, so it's not just a trade show. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: No, no, no. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: It's just all event only.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah, all event only. So what I would say to add on to what you're saying, other than. >> : The fact that I'm always usually right. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: I'm wrong, but he's, he's wrong. That's fine. But go to your local shop, guys. Go to your local shop. Talk to your people. When you find out they're having an event, if they're having a cavalier event, go, because their reps are extremely knowledgeable and their

brand is fantastic. And you can get some really good deals on some really quality cigars. Um, so I would just say, go, go buy some cigars, get a couple these eventually. Tell us what you think. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: And this is just a snapshot into their portfolio. I had absolutely the domain rouge, the limited editions, so good. Those, these things go up another level. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah, yeah, these. So their inner circle is, um, the domain rouge was the newest

one, I believe, from 2024. Um, the first one was called the chateau, I believe. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: That sounds accurate. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: It's blue. It's got the blue label on it, if I'm not mistaken. I could be wrong. I screw up two words. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: The homage. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: The homage. That's what it is. Um, yeah, I was way off. I'm sorry about that. But, uh. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Don't be sorry. Be careful.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah, that's right. Be careful. Uh, but honestly, like, go try these cigars. Like, you're not going to be. You're not going to hate it. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah. All in all, the cavaliers are chiefs. Top of the line. Always, always be, uh, reaching for one. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: No matter what.

>> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Yeah. So, so let me take a little bit here, and let's, let's talk about some, uh, some pairings. What do we do? Mister Mike with the, the half and half tea. What do you got? >> : Wow. >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Arnold Palmer with this. >> : Well, I already talked the, uh, oec, uh, black logger. Do not miss that. Uh,

it's, uh, that was a excellent choice. And I can think of some other, um, you know, straight up, uh, you know, even a, uh, bonner Weiss, uh, would probably would have done very well. Even a belgian straight up blonde, you know, uh, tribal. Yeah. Yeah. I don't think you'd want to go down the path of something that was hoppy. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: You don't know me. >> : Um, that's right. I was trying to think of some. I'm m sorry. Uh, the other pairings I had

with, uh, some of these. The toro proprietor. I remember that I had, um, a line of, uh, highland scotch, you know, with, with that. And there was one highland scotch that I had that was finished off in sherry, which is very common, you know, choice. And I actually thought that was working really well because that menthol thing was kind of playing out, and I needed

something that had some sugars, you know, kind of laden in it. And the sherry finish really just kind of rounded things out for me, and I thought, hmm, yeah, that kind of works for me. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: So, you know what's interesting? And like I said, we didn't go over the inner circle, but I, um. One of my favorite pairings is their domain rouge with the cafe con leche. >> : Hmm. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: So any, any type of coffee, but the coffee can let.

The cuban coffee is just fantastic, Perry. Absolutely. >> : It's tough for me to have something that has. Is overloaded with sugar. You know, I think with. With a lot of cigars, I'm generally looking for something that, you know, it's not going to fight with a cigar. Uh, and sugars can just walk in and just obliterate on your palate. Yeah, yeah. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: But I think that, you know, for me and I, um, guess when we talk about our headspace and talk about

what. What pairs well and what goes, like, you know, that was one of my most favorite experiences with that. So what about you, Benjamin? >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: So I've been into some cool na beers recently. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Oh, yeah? >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Running a new bar program and constantly trying new things. Athletic is really good. Ah, brew dog. Punk af. >> : Um, yep. We had that one on the show.

>> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: Yeah, yeah. Super, uh, tasty. Uh, if you're looking, looking for an alcohol alternative, this one scratches an itch. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: Nice, right? >> Good ol’ Boy Benjamin: It still tastes like a really well developed beer. >> : They do suck, no? >> Unidentified Good ol’ Boy Benjamin+++ Benjamin Good ol’ Boy Bark: Yeah, so I'm always going to go with the non alcoholic, um, choices I've discovered lately. Um, there's a

pineapple, uh, juice. That sounds terrible. Sounds awesome to me, but it is fantastic. Even though there is some sweetness to it, I found it hasn't. It's like the simply pineapple. Yeah. And I find it. It pairs pretty good. Tends to even out some of the. >> Good ol’ Boy Barker: The smokes well, awesome. Well, we had some great, great conversation today with Cavalier. We had a really good time with this. Thank you, cavalier, for, um, supplying us with

this cigars review. And, ah, would like to take us take a second to thank JB's whiskey house for host us. Thank you, JB's, um, whiskey house. Whiskey house. We have a good time here.
